We all know that Quicksilver had died in the 2015 film Avengers: Age of Ultron, but is he a villain kept under wraps for the upcoming TV series “WandaVision.” A new theory has emerged, suggesting that his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe would make him a nemesis of Wanda Maximoff.
Well, his return to the MCU cannot be disregarded since Vision has also returned after facing death in the climax of the 2018 film Avengers: Infinity War. However, the real question is whether he will be a secret villain of the upcoming superhero show “WandaVision,” which is set to debut on Disney+ on January the 15th, 2020.
Some speculations and leaks surrounding the upcoming series have revealed that the character Quicksilver will not only appear in the series, but he will also be a nemesis of Wanda Maximoff instead of being her ally.
Some leaks from the audition tapes have revealed that Wanda’s children have a dialogue in which they regard someone as their uncle. And as far as my knowledge of MCU guides me, I believe only one person can be an uncle of Wanda’s children.
If the theory turns out to be true, it means that Vision isn’t the only person Wanda has revived. She has also brought back Quicksilver to create something called “perfect life” by using her powers. By the looks of the trailer, the show is trying to tell us that Wanda’s endeavor to create a “perfect life” for herself is the story’s theme.
Now, a new fan theory suggests that since Vision has been shown to be having no memories of his death, it seems as if Quicksilver will also be met with the same predicament should he arrive in the world created by Wanda. However, the fan theory has alluded to the fact that since Quicksilver and Wanda were once allies of Ultron, Quicksilver will likely be reborn, having the notion that he is still an ally of Ultron.
What I mean to say that since Quicksilver’s abrupt turn towards heroism happened not long before his death, it is possible that the entire memory of his good deeds, as well as his sacrifice, would have been wiped from his memory.
It is also possible that the strange world that Wanda has created for herself would mentally torture Quicksilver so much that he would have a psychotic breakdown and hence will embark on an all-out assault on Wanda and Vision. Perhaps, that is why we haven’t seen any villains in the trailer. Perhaps, Quicksilver is the villain of the show.
It will also shed some light on Wanda Maximoff’s bonding with his twin brother before his tragic death. The films simply did not have time to show Wanda’s grieving over his brother’s death, but it seems unlikely that she had forgotten about him even if fans have over four years.
WandaVision will arrive on January the 15th, 2021.
