I'm white and when I was small I wanted a Black Barbie more than anything. This was the 80s in Canada. My mom went to many distinct stores trying to find a single and eventually had to special order it. The main reason for for my desire? My best friend was Black and it made no sense to me that if the folks around me weren't all white that all my dolls should be white. I also remember thinking how beautiful the Dark Barbie was.

Hell, I only play with a female character in matches if I could. I am a dude every single day of my own life and occasionally I need a little variety, perhaps I wanna see a badass, take no shit woman in my games rather than a basic ass dude yet again. Seriously can't understand why folks wish to gatekeep how a person enjoys their video games/ttrpgs/whatever if its a form of escapism from real life, I want to do my thing and have fun!
