Silagra is one medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Sildenafil belongs to the class of drugs known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. These medications either increase blood flow to the penis or the lungs, depending on the condition being treated.

By relaxing the penile blood vessels, Sildenafil helps ED patients achieve an erection by increasing blood flow. For Sildenafil to cause an erection, sexual stimulation is required.

For PAH patients, Sildenafil works by relaxing the blood vessels in the lungs, which enhances blood flow and reduces symptoms such dyspnea and dizziness.
