Maybe the Indians should just not play on Friday's anymore. For the second straight Friday night the Indians lost, something they haven't done very much in the last few weeks, winning 27 of 28 games heading into Friday's matchup with Seattle. Nelson Cruz wrapped up the second straight Friday setback with a two Mike Matheny Jersey -run homer off Cody Allen in the 9th with the game tied at one apiece for the win. Trevor Bauer, who was on the hill in the lo s last Friday, gave the Tribe every chance to win, and was very good in going seven innings. Here's three takeaways from just the second lo s for the Tribe in the last 29 outings.3. Offense Held in Check Thursday the Indians put up four runs, but three of those came from a homer by Francisco Lindor. On Friday, they didn't get that big blast, and were held to one run on just three hits, with the only run of the game coming on a Gio Urshela homer in 3rd inning. Chris Carpenter Jersey After the offense has been so good over the last month, it's understandable for the team to have an 'off' night if you will, it's just a shame that this night the offense did little in a game in which Trevor Bauer gave the Indians every chance to win. Erasmo Ramirez, who came into Friday's game with a 5-6 mark with a 4.50 ERA, held the Indians to just the one run on three hits. All the Indians hits were before the fourth inning, and they mounted no offense after the fourth frame. Scroll to Continue2. Bauer Did His Part The last two Indians lo ses had one common factor, that being Trevor Bauer being the teams' starting pitcher. While he didn't throw that great last Friday Jedd Gyorko Jersey against the Royals, on this night against the Mariners he was very good. On the night Bauer went seven innings, allowing a run on five hits with three walks Tyler O Neill Jersey and six strikeouts. He threw 116 pitches, 70 strikes. Yes, the team has lost games in both of Bauer's last starts, but make no mistake on this night he deserved a better fate if the Tribe's offense was able to come up with a big hit at some point after the fourth inning. 1. A Lo s That Hurts No one could expect the Indians to simply keep on winning, and fans have been spoiled by this team winning 27 of 29, but Friday's lo s was one that stung. Reason being was the team that the Indians are holding off in the AL for the best record won (Houston) and the team they are chasing in the National League for the best record in all of baseball (Los Angeles) also won. That means if you're keeping track, the Indians are now 1.5 up Yadier Molina Jersey on Houston for the best mark in the AL, and they trail the Dodgers by two full games for the best mark in all of baseball. With the Dodgers having won the series the two teams played in Cleveland, it means the Indians would have to overtake them by a game in order to get the best record and home field in the postseason should the teams meet in the World Series.
