Stainless steel compression fittings allow the connection of two imperial (or imperial) pipes, two metric pipes, or metric pipes on one end, and imperial/imperial pipes on the other.

Common sizes range from 1/16" to 2" for fractional sizes and 2 to 50mm for metric sizes).

Compression fittings are rated for the maximum working pressure of the pipe to be installed.

Double tube fittings are widely used in downstream petrochemical, pulp and paper, laboratory, aerospace shipbuilding, national defense, power generation, semiconductor manufacturing, heavy industry, and many other industries.

How to install the pressure joint?

The tube must be inserted into the fitting and the nut tightened. By doing so, the rear ferrule is advanced axially towards the front ferrule and exerts an effective grip on the tube.

The ferrule deforms, compresses and clamps around the tube creating a very tight seal capable of withstanding the nominal pressure of the tube.

The double ferrule design compensates for tolerances in pipe diameter, wall thickness, thickness, and material hardness, resulting in an excellent leak-free connection (does not affect the mechanical properties of the pipe: the rear ferrule moves according to a predefined path without reducing or stressing inside diameter of the tube).

The connecting tube at the outlet of the fitting can be screwed or welded to the compression fitting (depending on the fitting end type). There are several options when it comes to threaded ends (NPT, ISO, etc.).

Couplings made with ferrule fittings can be disassembled for maintenance (replacement ferrules and nuts available).

With a few basic tools provided by the tube fitting manufacturer, the installation process is smooth and quick, with no welding required.
