What is Internet Telephony?

How internet telephony works
Internet Telephony works by transforming analog audio signals into Digital Data that are communicated over the Internet.
Many Technologies used to help internet telephony such as:
VOIP - VoIP converts analog audio signals into digital data, which are then sent over the internet to the recipient.
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) - It used to Initiate, Improve and Stop voice and video call and sessions over the internet.
RTP (Real time transport Protocol) - It is used to transmit realtime data such as autio and video, Over the internet.
To make a phone call using internet telephony, both the caller and the receiver need to have internet connections and internet telephony software or hardware. The caller initiates the call by dialing the receiver phone number or SIP address, and the call is routed over the internet to the recipient. The recipient's internet telephony software or hardware converts the digital data back into analog audio, allowing them to hear the caller's voice through their phone or computer.
