Versatile Wood Pallets and Their Wide Range of Uses

Wood pallets have been an invaluable resource for transportation and storage for decades. Made from reclaimed or newly cut wood, pallets provide a sturdy yet affordable platform to move goods from place to place. Though fairly simple in design, pallets lend themselves to a diverse array of applications.
Construction and Materials
Wood Pallets are constructed using several materials cut into planks and deck boards. Softwoods like pine and spruce are most commonly used due to their strength, availability, and affordability. Planks form the stringers that support the deck boards, which interlock to create a strong yet lightweight base. Nails or staples hold the pieces together. Blocks along the outside edges add structural integrity while lift slots or spaces allow forklifts and pallet jacks to easily transport loads. Depending on their intended use, pallets are built to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) specifications to ensure compatibility. Proper construction and durable materials enable pallets to withstand repeated handling and transport.
