It's the problem, maybe they think it doesn't justify one, not certain where most of them endure but I have read about several reasons like those. My train of thought is that when a player sees a stickied megathread they feel welcome to ask things since there's a place made for them to do so. I see it as the distinction between someone inviting you versus welcoming you with open arms.
The time I've had playing with Runescape
