If you're planning on becoming an Emergency Care Assistant (ECA), one question that may be on your mind is what FREC level is required for the job. The answer is simple: to become an ECA, you need to complete a FREC 3 course.
The First Response Emergency Care (FREC) courses are designed to provide comprehensive training in emergency medical care. The courses are structured as progressive levels, with each level building upon the knowledge and skills learned in the previous level. In total, there are four levels of FREC courses available: FREC 1, FREC 2, FREC 3 and FREC 4.
FREC 3 is considered the minimum requirement for individuals looking to work as Emergency Care Assistants within the UK ambulance service.
