Mediatiz is a non-profit organization focused on helping people understand and deal with media in today’s world. We have created a course called Media Mind that teaches media literacy, which is about getting better at understanding and questioning the media we see daily.
If you look around, there is a chance you might not notice that media is everywhere. It is not only on our phones or TVs; it has an influence on how we think, how we vote, and even our interaction with one another. This is called mediatization. And to be completely honest, most of us don’t even realize how much of an effect it has in shaping our lives. That’s where you can count on Mediatiz with their Media Mind course. We want people to really find out what’s going on behind the curtains of all the media messages we are blasted with.
At the core of Media Mind is the idea of literacy and media skills. It’s about learning to question whatever you see—looking for hidden biases, understanding the reality behind a message, and figuring out what’s wrong and what’s right. Looking at how powerful media is, these skills are more important than ever.
But hold on, that’s not all there is to it; Media Mind also helps you develop critical thinking. It’s not only about what information you are taking in but also about how that information is affecting you and the world around you. We believe that by improving media literacy, we’re not just making better choices for ourselves, but we’re also creating a solid foundation for our democratic institutions. The more people can think critically about the media they consume, the more our society becomes informed and engaged.
