MYTH: Chlamydia is a mild disease and can be treated with over-the-counter medication.
FACT: If left untreated, chlamydia can lead to serious complications, including pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), infertility, and even death in some cases. Treatment with antibiotics is often required.
