This training will provide an overview of the dynamics of substance use, including diagnosis and assessment. Learners will be introduced to the core tenets of DBT, including mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. Learners will be shown how to apply DBT skills such as validation, acceptance, and wise mind in supporting clients to overcome patterns of addiction and achieve sobriety.
