Introduction:

Your introductory paragraph is the most important part of your essay. It should clearly write my paper state what you are trying to achieve and why you want to do it. In this paragraph, provide key information about your topic and explain why sustainable development is so important at present.

This project has been set up in order to implement better policies that will enable a more sustainable economy for my country, Thailand. The implementation of these policies will be greatly beneficial for the welfare of both me and future generations because they focus on managing natural resources such as water and energy which are needed by both present people and those living in the future. These developments can also reduce environmental degradation issues which have devastating effects on environmental quality (Chetanananda 1998). People may lose their jobs if the economy collapses. In Thailand, many people rely on natural resources as a source of income and food supply.

To achieve this goal, I will first define what sustainable development is and how it has been implemented in order to boost environmental quality (Chetanananda 1998). The steps that have been taken for better implementation of these policies will then be discussed, followed by my recommendations in implementing sustainable development policies within the country.

Definition: Sustainable development is defined as “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs'' (World Commission on Environment & Development [WCED] 1987). This definition indicates that human beings need economic growth and prosperity now and in the future. Development should also take concerns for the protection of environmental quality and resources in order to ensure that everyone can benefit from them. Thus, sustainable development is a process of balancing economic growth with resource conservation and environmental protection, so that it can deliver both long-term economic prosperity and social well being as well as an enhanced natural ecosystem (Chetanananda 1998)

10 Sustainable Development Goals Definition:

  1. No Poverty & Hunger
  2. Good Health & Well Being
  3. Quality Education
  4. Gender Equality
  5. Clean Water & Sanitation
  6. Affordable & Clean Energy for All  7. Decent work & Economic Growth  8. Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure  9. Reduced Inequality & 10. Sustainable Cities & Communities

Of these, the most important factors that will be helpful for my country are No Poverty and Hunger; Quality Education; Affordable Clean Energy for All; Reduced Inequality and finally, Sustainable Cities & Community. These goals should be implemented in two ways: positively and negatively. Positively, they should encourage growth of economy and workforce productivity whereas negatively, discouragement against pollution and degradation of resources on which economic growth depends (Chetananonda 1998).

Background information [to use as knowledge, not to be copied verbatim]: Tropics are areas around the equator where sunlight goes directly toward Earth with no reflection from the sky. The rainfall in these regions is more abundant than anywhere else on Earth. The warm ocean currents around the equator also help to keep temperatures at about 80 degrees Fahrenheit, which makes living conditions comfortable for people. Tropical areas have natural vegetation that includes thick forests, shrubs and grasslands (Global 2000).

Introduction:

Sustainable development has been greatly implemented in Thailand since January 1989 when His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej declared it as a national agenda (Watts & Zimmerman 2002). Many policies have been launched by government officials and private sectors to implement sustainable development principles within our country’s borders. Over the years, there have been some positive developments including growing economy, greater infrastructure development, rapid industrialization and improved public service. However, these developments have come with a price as there are more environmental problems than before such as pollution from factories and power plants, degradation of natural resources like forest areas and fertile soils for farming which has caused the country to face economic loss (Pantipa 2004).

Even though Thailand is considered wealthy compared to other countries in ASEAN region, its wealth is very unevenly distributed among the population. The Thai government should help to redistribute wealth by creating job opportunities for the poor or those who don’t want their children to end up following in their footsteps. By putting sustainable development into action immediately within my country’s borders, I could achieve my party platform that would be beneficial to my voters and other residents of Thailand.

Conclusion:

I had been working for the last three years on a case study that you would write my paper for me be useful in order to make my own party platform. My work has paid off as I am able to present a political agenda based on sustainable development principles within my country’s borders that should help me achieve victory in this election. This case study will be presented by me at the next president-general meeting scheduled for September 25th, 2016. If elected, I will move forward with this plan so that all segments of Thai society can benefit from it
