The Psychology Test is a crucial part of the latest SSB Interview pattern and marking scheme for NDA, CDS, and AFCAT aspirants. Conducted on Day 2 of the SSB selection process, this stage plays a major role in SSB interview preparation. It is designed to assess your natural personality, thinking pattern, emotional stability, communication skills, and core Officer Like Qualities (OLQs). Unlike the NDA Academy, CDS coaching written exam, this test does not check academic knowledge but evaluates your mindset, leadership traits, decision-making ability, and overall suitability for a career in the Indian Armed Forces. The SSB Psychology Test consists of four major components: TAT, WAT, SRT, and Self Description (SD).

TAT (Thematic Apperception Test)

In TAT, candidates are shown a series of pictures and must write a story within a limited time during the SSB interview psychology test. One blank slide is also shown to assess creativity and original thinking. Your story should include a relatable main character, a practical problem, logical actions, and a positive outcome. SSB assessors evaluate leadership skills, teamwork, initiative, responsibility, and problem-solving ability. Avoid unrealistic hero-type stories and focus on natural, practical, and solution-oriented responses to improve your SSB recommendation chances.

WAT (Word Association Test)

In WAT, around 60 words are displayed one by one for a few seconds each. Candidates must write the first meaningful sentence that comes to mind. This SSB psychology test checks your thought clarity, attitude, values, emotional intelligence, and OLQ development. Your responses should reflect positivity, confidence, discipline, and responsibility. Avoid memorized content, negative framing, or artificial sentences during SSB interview preparation Coaching.

SRT (Situation Reaction Test)

In SRT, real-life situations are given, and you must write quick, practical reactions. Time management is extremely important in this part of the SSB selection process. Your answers should demonstrate responsibility, courage, logical thinking, and quick decision-making skills. Practical and realistic solutions are always preferred in SSB coaching guidance.

Self Description (SD)

In SD, candidates describe themselves from the perspective of parents, teachers, friends, and personal self-analysis. Honesty, self-awareness, personality development, and willingness to improve are key factors assessed in this SSB interview stage.
