Google Hummingbird was a revamp of Google's algorithm that actively anticipated the demands of mobile device search, namely by enabling conversational search. Hummingbird laid the groundwork for tremendous advancements in search. Google never offered an explanation of Hummingbird. There are, however, recordings of Googlers describing what it is.
