    Clinical treatment of plaque psoriasis typically involves a comprehensive therapy, which is expensive and unsatisfactory, and some medications have serious side effects. Moving cupping therapy has shown good clinical efficacy in the treatment of plaque psoriasis; it can significantly relieve skin inflammation and excessive thickening of plaque psoriasis and has fewer side effects. However, a comprehensive evaluation of the current clinical evidence regarding its use is lacking.

    Several databases were systematically searched from inception to March 2, 2020, including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, China Network Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wan Fang. This review included randomized controlled trials on plaque psoriasis treatment with the use of moving cupping and in combination with Chinese herbs or conventional Western medicine therapy. These trial findings were compared with the treatment results using placebo, pharmaceutical medications, or Chinese herbs.     Reduction malarplasty is a routine clinical procedure among Asian women, but the traditional surgical methods are still associated with serious complications, such as nonunion of the osteotomy sites. Revisional surgery to correct such complications is common, but poor bone healing in the osteotomy area presents a challenge to plastic surgeons. In this report, the authors present a new technique for revision malarplasty that uses the piezosurgery (piezoelectric bone surgery) approach.

    A 30-year-old female patient underwent reduction malarplasty with titanium plate fixation in the zygomatic region at another hospital 4 years ago, but the root of the zygomatic arch was not fixed. The patient was diagnosed with bone nonunion, facial asymmetry, and soft tissue sagging on the right side of the face after malarplasty.

Oomycetes are water moulds in the kingdom Protista and are not considered true fungi due to the structural lack of chitin and ergosterol. Many oomycetes are pathogenic, such as Pythium spp., and many fish are prone to Saprolegnia spp. infections, particularly in stressful farming situations. A juvenile American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis) was presented for necropsy examination with white, gelatinous, raised lesions over ulcerated regions of skin on the limbs and tail. The alligator came from a hatchery with age-divided enclosures, and several of the animals within the same enclosure showed similar lesions. Numerous hyphae with non-parallel walls and sparse, non-dichotomous branching were observed histologically on Gomori's methenamine silver staining within the ulcers. Although no organisms were detectable via polymerase chain reaction testing of fresh or formalin-fixed tissues, the organism was cultured and sequenced as an Achlya sp., an infrequently identified oomycete. To the author's knowledge, this is the first description of an oomycete infection within the class Reptilia. INTRODUCTION Patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC), are believed to be at increased risk of pancreatitis. The objective of the present study was to investigate the association between IBD and risk of pancreatitis in a systematic review and meta-analysis. METHODS We conducted a systematic literature search in the PubMed and Embase databases. Data were extracted using predefined data fields, and risk of bias was assessed using the Risk of Bias Assessment tool for Non-randomized Studies. Random-effects meta-analyses were conducted. RESULTS Four studies with acute pancreatitis as outcome met the eligibility criteria. The overall estimated risk ratio revealed an increased risk for acute pancreatitis in patients with IBD of 2.78 (95% confidence interval (CI) 2.40-3.22). The risk ratio was increased for both CD and UC, with estimated risk ratios of 3.62 (95% CI 2.99-4.38) and 2.24 (95% CI 1.85-2.71), respectively. No studies meeting the eligibility criteria had chronic pancreatitis as outcome. CONCLUSIONS The risk of acute pancreatitis is increased in patients with IBD and higher for patients with CD. Due to the observational design of the studies included in our meta-analysis, the mechanisms underlying the increased risk of pancreatitis are unknown and remain to be investigated. It is of great importance that smaller trauma centres with "high-risk, low-incidence" trauma resuscitations maintain high standards in trauma resuscitation, as severely injured patients are occasionally treated. We aimed to evaluate the effect of implementing trauma team training (TTT). Additionally, we investigated the incidence of severe traumas using the Injury Severity Score (ISS). METHODS Data on process times were collected in a three-month period before and after implementation of TTT at the Regional Hospital Randers, Denmark. The Bronchiectasis Health Questionnaire (BHQ), a short and disease-specific questionnaire, has previously been developed and validated in English. The aim of this study was to translate and validate the BHQ in Danish, using established cross-cultural validation methods. METHODS To create a Danish version of the questionnaire, this study used linguistic validation, a pilot study in 17 patients and forward-backward translation. Thereafter, 111 patients with bronchiectasis were asked to complete the BHQ (BHQ1) as well as the St George Respiratory Questionnaire (SGRQ), and one in three patients were asked to repeat the BHQ after two weeks had passed (BHQ2). RESULTS There was a significant convergent validity between the BHQ1 and the SGRQ (ρ = -0,826, p = 0.0001), a satisfactory correlation coefficient between the BHQ1 and the BHQ2 (0.739) and a lower limit of agreement of -15.96 and 20.

    The tumor microenvironment plays a key role in regulating tumor progression. This research aimed to develop the biomarker related to tumor microenvironment in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC).

    The ESTIMATE algorithm was used to evaluate the immune score of ccRCC cases from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). Differentially expressed genes between high and low immune scores were identified and a 13-gene signature was constructed by the LASSO Cox regression model to predict overall survival (OS) for ccRCC cases in TCGA or International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) project. The immune cell fractions were calculated by the TIMER algorithm. Cell viability and gene expression were determined by CCK-8 and qRT-PCR, respectively.

    The OS of patients with high immune scores was worse than that of patients with low immune scores. The OS between ccRCC patients from TCGA or ICGC cohort in high- and low-risk groups stratified by the gene signature was significantly different. Subgroup analysis also showed a robust prognostic ability of the gene signature. Multivariate Cox regression analysis demonstrated that this gene signature was an independent prognostic factor. The nomogram that integrated the gene signature and three clinicopathological risk factors had a favorably predictive ability in predicting 3, 5 and 10 year survival. Moreover, the high-risk group had a significantly higher abundance of B cell, T cell, CD4, neutrophil and DC infiltration. Among 13 genes, X-C motif chemokine receptor1 (XCR1) was upregulated in ccRCC cells and exerted an inhibitory effect on cell proliferation.

Differentially expressed genes between high and low immune scores were identified and a 13-gene signature was constructed by the LASSO Cox regression model to predict overall survival (OS) for ccRCC cases in TCGA or International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) project. The immune cell fractions were calculated by the TIMER algorithm. Cell viability and gene expression were determined by CCK-8 and qRT-PCR, respectively. The OS of patients with high immune scores was worse than that of patients with low immune scores. The OS between ccRCC patients from TCGA or ICGC cohort in high- and low-risk groups stratified by the gene signature was significantly different. Subgroup analysis also showed a robust prognostic ability of the gene signature. Multivariate Cox regression analysis demonstrated that this gene signature was an independent prognostic factor. The nomogram that integrated the gene signature and three clinicopathological risk factors had a favorably predictive ability in predicting 3, 5 and 10 year survival.   • The skin mucus in lower vertebrates such as fish with strong innate immune system has many unique and valuable bioactive compounds that can be used for inducing apoptosis in cancer cells. This study was looking for the cytotoxic potential of mucus from the two fish species, including round goby (Neogobius melanostomus) and common carp (Cyprinus carpio), and inducing apoptosis in MCF7 and LNCaP cancer cell lines via influencing P53 gene expression and cell cycle arrest. Results showed that the both mucus types have cytotoxic effects on the both cancer cell lines whereas they have no severe effect on normal primary fibroblast cells. In addition, round goby mucus and common carp mucus selectively induced apoptosis in the LNCaP and MCF7 cells, respectively, through up-regulating P53 gene and arresting cell cycle at the G1 phase. Taken together, this study suggested that the both mucus types can selectively influence P53 pathway and induce apoptosis in especial cancer cells. Four cases suspicious for MSI were identified. Validation of MSI by repeated IHC on large sections and polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based analysis using the "Bethesda Panel" confirmed MSI in 3 cecal NECs. One pancreatic NET G3 with MSI-compatible TMA results was MMR intact on large section IHC and microsatellite stable (MSS). The remaining 235 tumors exhibited intact MMR. Protein loss of MLH1/PMS2 was found in two and MSH6 loss in one cancer with MSI. Large section IHC on all available tumor-containing tissue blocks in NECs with MSI did not identify aberrant tumor areas with intact MMR. Our data indicate that MSI is common in colorectal NECs (3 out of 10) but highly infrequent in neuroendocrine neoplasms from many other sites. CR expressed in terms of education, occupation, premorbid intelligence quotient and leisure time activities was associated with frailty in both cross-sectional and longitudinal observations. The majority of reviewed evidence suggests a potential protective role of CR factors against the onset and the worsening of frailty among older adults. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first attempt to provide a comprehensive overview regarding the association between CR dimensions and frailty. Education, occupation, premorbid intelligence quotient and leisure time activities are able to interact with the general concept of frailty, rather than simply affecting the cognitive trajectory towards dementia.     Using up to 13 years of repeated-measures data, we identified aging trajectories for an index in frailty score among older Japanese undergoing health checkups. In addition, we examined whether these trajectories were associated with all-cause and cause-specific mortality and healthcare costs.

    In total, 1698 adults aged ≥65 years completed annual assessments during 2002-2014. During follow-up, the average number of follow-up assessments was 3.9, and the total number of observations was 6373. CR expressed in terms of education, occupation, premorbid intelligence quotient and leisure time activities was associated with frailty in both cross-sectional and longitudinal observations. The majority of reviewed evidence suggests a potential protective role of CR factors against the onset and the worsening of frailty among older adults. There was no statistical correlation between CD 133 expression age, tumor grade and tumor size. The disease free survival showed the mean disease free survival of CD 133 positivity cases was 16months. And the patients who were negative for CD 133 expression had mean survival of 30 months. By the Kaplan Mayer graph it was evident that the more the CD 133 expression the lesser was the disease free survival of the patients.

    In Jordan, breast cancer (**) affects a substantial proportion of Jordanian women, highlighting the need for studies to be carried out regarding the genetic component of the disease. The aim of the present study was to investigate the interaction between ** risk and prognosis and polymorphisms in genes (ATM, CASP8, FGFR2, FN1, IGF1, LSP1, MAP3K, MMP7, and RHOC) that were chosen for this study previously reported as having a role in the disease.

    Blood samples were collected from 242 ** patients and 231 disease-free volunteers recruited from the Jordanian population. DNA was extracted from blood and each sample was sent to the Australian Genome Research Facility for genotyping.

    The rs1219648 SNP of the FGFR2 gene was the only investigated variant to show any direct association with ** in Jordanian women (p-value = 0.04). However, the CASP8rs6760993 SNP was found to be significantly associated with ** (p-value = 0.04) when using the dominant model. Other gene polymorphisms showed varying levels of association between some investigated SNPs and different ** risk and prognostic factors.

    Despite reports to the contrary in other populations, most of the investigated genes and their respective SNPs did not show any significant association with ** in Jordanian women.     The aim of the study was to explore and describe perceptions of midwives on Papanicolaou (Pap smear) test during pregnancy.

    The study used qualitative, exploratory type of design. A probability purposive sampling was used to sample 12 registered midwives based in gynaecological units in a public hospital in Tshwane District, South Africa. Open-ended questionnaires, field notes, and audio tape were used to collect data. Data analysis process involved grouping and categorization into themes and sub-themes.

    This study showed that majority of midwives lacked scientific knowledge behind Pap smear test during pregnancy. Some of the participants could relate with the test and verbalized that there may be complications such as bleeding, which may lead to miscarriage.

    Findings showed that midwives were not performing Pap smear tests among pregnant women due lack of knowledge. This points out that Pap smear test is not prioritised as a secondary preventive tool at facility level. It is therefore recommended that refresher workshops be conducted at hospital level.

A pilot study was carried out in Varamin city, Iran in 2016 aimed to determine status of cigarette and hookah smoking in adolescent students using, Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS) questionnaire.

    Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an aggressive type of breast cancer (**), and its diagnosis is associated with negative expression of hormone receptors and HER2/neu. It consists of 10-20% of all BCs diagnosed.

    This study focuses on three groups with different pathology group one showed complete triple-negative HER2 expression with IHC of **; groups two and three included patients with ER-, PR-, and HER21+, and ER-, PR-, and HER22+ with a negative FISH test. These three groups were compared from the point of prognosis, which consisted of tumor size, patients' age, lymphatic, vascular and perineural invasion, organ metastasis, number of lymph nodes involvement, and the survival rate.

    A total of 459 TNBC patients were enrolled, of which 268 were placed in the HER20 group, 146 in the HER21+ group, and 45 in the HER22+ group. Distant metastasis and recurrence rate were more common in HER20 patients, but bone metastasis was more common in patients with low HER2 expression. All patients with HER20 had a smaller tumor size at the time of ** diagnosis in comparison to patients in the low HER2 expression group. Patients with HER22+ had less lymphatic and vascular invasion as well as axillary lymph nodes involvement, but larger tumor size at presentation, resulting in a lower rate of recurrence and higher overall survival.

Upon reactivation, intimate embryo-maternal communication comparable to those reported in cattle is thought to occur. In this review, current knowledge, parallels and differences of reproductive physiology in cattle and roe deer are reviewed. The roe deer is proposed as a unique model species to (1) enhance our knowledge of fertility processes, (2) define factors that support embryo survival for an extended period, (3) advance knowledge on embryonic stem cells, and (4) unravel potential implications for the development of novel strategies for artificial reproductive technologies.Right-angle power-tools (RAPT) employed in automotive manufacturing promote greater productivity and quality fastenings, as well as, improve process efficiency. Due to RAPT technological advances automotive manufactures desire to understand their ergonomics consequences within a laboratory environment, however, laboratory-based representation must accurately represent the real world. A survey within automotive assembly plants was conducted to capture RAPT operation data. After examining 80 total RAPT operations, we logged the 3D locations of the fastener location (with respect to the operator), direction and the hand placement location used by operators. Four common locations with respect to the midpoint between the ankle (in cm; X = sagittal plane, Y = transverse plane, Z = coronal plane) 1) 2, 113, 62; 2) 42, 104, 45; 3) -26, 151, 36; 4) -37, 92, 52. These locations can be used to simulate RAPT operations within a laboratory.     Intestinal ischemia is a highly morbid and mortal condition with no specific treatment. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibition synchronized with nitric oxide (NO) release and endothelin (ET) receptor blockade on oxidative stress, inflammation, vasoconstriction, and bacterial translocation which occur during ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury in in-vivo rat intestinal I/R model.

    36 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into six groups (n=6). Superior mesenteric artery blood flow (SMABF) was recorded; SMA was occluded for 30min; SMABF was re-recorded at the beginning of the reperfusion phase. Rats were sacrificed after the reperfusion period of 60min. Blood and tissue samples were obtained. Acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), NO-ASA, flurbiprofen (FLUR), and Tezosentan (TS) were administered 15min after ischemia. Histopathological examination, bacterial translocation, and biochemical analysis were performed in plasma and tissue samples.

    Over the period from July 2013 to July 2018, 798 patients with oblique inguinal hernias undergoing Trans abdominal preperitoneal technique (TAPP) were randomized into 3 groups Group A; mesh non fixation 266 patients.   • A global hybrid extension of multiconfiguration pair-density functional theory (**-PDFT) is developed. Using a linear decomposition of the electron-electron repulsion term, a fraction λ of the nonlocal exchange interaction, obtained from variational two-electron reduced-density matrix (v2RDM)-driven complete active-space self-consistent field (CASSCF) theory, is combined with its local counterpart, obtained from an on-top pair-density functional. The resulting scheme (called λ-**-PDFT) inherits the benefits of **-PDFT (e.g., its simplicity and the resolution of the symmetry dilemma) and, when combined with the v2RDM approach to CASSCF, requires only polynomially scaling computational effort. As a result, λ-**-PDFT can efficiently describe static and dynamical correlation effects in strongly correlated systems. The efficacy of the approach is assessed for several challenging multiconfigurational problems, including the dissociation of molecular nitrogen, the double dissociation of a water molecule, and the 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions of ozone to ethylene and ozone to acetylene in the O3ADD6 benchmark set.Coarse-grained (CG) models have allowed for the study of long time and length scale properties of a variety of systems. However, when a system undergoes chemical reactions, current CG models are not able to capture this behavior because of their fixed bonding topology. This challenge particularly impacts "bottom-up" CG models developed from the fundamental underlying atomistic-scale interactions. In this paper, a reactive coarse-grained (RCG) method is developed which utilizes all-atom (AA) data to create a CG model able to represent chemical reactions by undergoing changes in bonding topology. As an example, the RCG method was applied to a model of SN2 reactions of 1-chlorobutane with a chloride ion and 1-iodobutane with an iodide ion in a methanol solvent. An asymmetric reaction was also modeled by incorporating a constant energy offset to the 1-iodobutane model. In each case, the calculated CG potential of mean force (PMF) results in good agreement with the fully AA PMF for the reactions.The fundamental roles that peptides and proteins play in today's biology makes it almost indisputable that peptides were key players in the origin of life. Insofar as it is appropriate to extrapolate **** from extant biology to the prebiotic world, one must acknowledge the critical importance that interconnected molecular networks, likely with peptides as key components, would have played in life's origin. In this review, we summarize chemical processes involving peptides that could have contributed to early chemical evolution, with an emphasis on molecular interactions between peptides and other classes of organic molecules. We first summarize mechanisms by which amino acids and similar building blocks could have been produced and elaborated into proto-peptides. Next, non-covalent interactions of peptides with other peptides as well as with nucleic acids, lipids, carbohydrates, metal ions, and aromatic molecules are discussed in relation to the possible roles of such interactions in chemical evolution of structure and function. Finally, we describe research involving structural alternatives to peptides and covalent adducts between amino acids/peptides and other classes of molecules. We propose that ample future breakthroughs in origin-of-life chemistry will stem from investigations of interconnected chemical systems in which synergistic interactions between different classes of molecules emerge.Parabens are widely used as common preservatives in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. The samples were divided into different groups based on tertile distribution of urinary paraben concentrations. Metabolic profiling of the 88 urine samples was performed by using UHPLC coupled with Orbitrap high-resolution MS. Differential metabolites were screened by comparing the profiles of urine samples from different paraben-exposure groups. The identified metabolites included purines, acylcarnitines, etc., revealing that metabolic pathways such as purine metabolism, fatty acid β-oxidation, and other pathways were disturbed by parabens. Eighteen and three metabolites were correlated (Spearman correlation analysis, p less then 0.05) with the exposure levels of methyparaben and propylparaben, respectively. This is the first MS-based nontargeted metabolomics study on pregnant women with paraben exposure. The problem is that establishing a performance metric of the maps over unseen data (given by 2D-projection images) is difficult due to the low signal-to-noise ratios in the individual particles. Here, I present recent advances for cryo-EM map reconstruction. I highlight that the gold-standard procedure can fail to detect map overfitting in certain cases, showing the necessity of assessing the map quality on unbiased data. Finally, I describe the challenges and advantages of developing a robust cross-validation methodology for cryo-EM.

  • An intensive care unit (ICU) delirium prediction tool, PREdiction of DELIRium in ICu patients (PRE-DELIRIC), has been developed and calibrated in a multinational project. However, there is a lack of evidence regarding the predictive ability of the PRE-DELIRIC among Chinese ICU patients.

    To evaluate the predictive validity (discrimination and calibration) of PRE-DELIRIC.

    A retrospective cohort study was conducted. Consecutive participants (a) admitted to the ICU for ≥24 hours, (b) aged ≥18 years, and (c) admitted to the ICU for the first time were included. Ten predictors (age, APACHE-II, urgent and admission category, urea level, metabolic acidosis, infection, coma, sedation, and morphine use) assessed within 24 hours upon ICU admission were assessed. Delirium was assessed using the Confusion Assessment Method for ICU. Outcomes included ICU length of stay and mortality. Discrimination and calibration were determined by the areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC), box plot, and ca to reduce the negative impacts of ICU delirium.In this paper, Yuqiao Reservoir is taken as the research object. The total suspended matter (TSM) produced by the economic development in the upper reaches of the reservoir and its surrounding areas has brought great ecological harm to the safe operation of the reservoir. Satellite remote sensing technology provides a good way to obtain the temporal and spatial variation of TSM in the study area. Two field surveys were carried out in the Yuqiao Reservoir, a total of 44 sampling points collected in the two tests. The spectral data and concentration of TSM were obtained. We developed and validated a robust empirical model to estimate the concentration of TSM in the water of the Yuqiao Reservoir for the first time. The TSM distribution map of the Yuqiao Reservoir in 2013-2018 is retrieved based on Landsat 8 OLI images. This paper analyzes the spatial distribution characteristics of TSM concentration in the Yuqiao Reservoir for several years, as well as the interannual, seasonal, and monthly variation laws and deNER POINTS The monitoring model of TSM in Yuqiao Reservoir was built for the first time. Temporal and spatial analysis of TSM concentration in Yuqiao Reservoir for the first time. The concentration of TSM is in Yuqiao Reservoir greatly affected by wind speed and precipitation.

    Patients diagnosed with CTEPH were included in the registry that was set up in 18 centres from August 2009 to July 2018. The characteristics and survival of patients with CTEPH receiving the different treatments were reported. Prognostic factors were evaluated by Cox regression model.

    A total of 593 patients with CTEPH were included. Eighty-one patients were treated with PEA, 61 with BPA and 451 with drugs. The estimated survival rates at 1, 3, 5 and 8 years were, respectively, 95.2%, 84.6%, 73.4% and 66.6% in all patients; 92.6%, 89.6%, 87.5% and 80.2% in surgical patients; and 95.4%, 88.3%, 71.0% and 64.1% in medically treated patients. The estimated survival rates at 1, 3, 5 and 7 years in patients treated with BPA were 96.7%, 88.1%, 70.0% and 70.0%, respectively. For all patients, PEA was an independent predictor of survival. Other independent risk factors were CHD, cardiac index, PVR, big endothelin-1, APE and 6MWD.

LM revealed that size ranges from 3 to 20 mm. furthermore, a great variety of color is observed from pitch black to greenish gray and yellowish white to off white. Seeds ultrastructure study with the help of SEM revealed a great variety in shape, size, color, sculpturing and periclinal wall shape, and so on.     Root-knot nematodes are plant-parasitic nematodes that cause immense damage to a broad range of cultivated crops by forming root galls, resulting in yield losses in crops. To facilitate the development of faster-acting selective nematicides, we cloned three cDNAs encoding UNC-49B proteins from the southern root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita and examined their functional and pharmacological properties by two-electrode voltage clamp electrophysiology using a Xenopus oocyte expression system.

    The three cloned cDNAs encoded Min-UNC-49B, Min-UNC-49B-L and Min-UNC-49B-XL; the last two proteins have longer N-terminal regions than the first protein. Maximum yield of Brassica oleracea L. biodiesel (87%) was obtained at the conditions; 19 of oil to methanol ratio, 0.5 g of catalyst, 5 hr reaction time, and 90°C of temperature. Synthesized biodiesel was characterized by FT-IR, GC-MS, and NMR. Fuel properties of the Brassica oleracea L. FAMES were determined and found in accordance with ASTM standards. Root-knot nematodes are plant-parasitic nematodes that cause immense damage to a broad range of cultivated crops by forming root galls, resulting in yield losses in crops. To facilitate the development of faster-acting selective nematicides, we cloned three cDNAs encoding UNC-49B proteins from the southern root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita and examined their functional and pharmacological properties by two-electrode voltage clamp electrophysiology using a Xenopus oocyte expression system. The three cloned cDNAs encoded Min-UNC-49B, Min-UNC-49B-L and Min-UNC-49B-XL; the last two proteins have longer N-terminal regions than the first protein. When expressed in Xenopus oocytes, these proteins responded to γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) to activate currents with high-micromolar or low-millimolar half-maximal effective concentration (EC ) values, indicating the formation of functional homo-pentameric GABA receptors. Fipronil and picrotoxinin inhibited GABA-induced currents with high-nanomolar and low-micromolar half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC ) values, respectively, in oocytes expressing Min-UNC-49B.
