Accurate diagnosis of osteoarthritis (OA) is the first important step in ensuring appropriate management of the disease. A multitude of tests involving assessment of biomarkers help in assessment of severity and grading of osteoarthritic damage. However, most tests are time consuming and are limited by the paucity in synovial fluid volume. In majority of OA effusions, calcium containing crystals are found. The aim of our study was to evaluate whether a correlation existed between the amount of calcium containing crystals present in synovial fluid and severity scoring of OA to propose a quick and inexpensive technique for disease assessment.
Monosodium-iodoacetate was used to induce high- and low-grade knee OA in adult New Zealand white rabbits (n=6 joint each group). At 16 weeks, synovial fluid and joints were harvested for histopathological analysis. OA grading was established based on OARSI scoring. In this article, we review the current evidence of LIPUS therapy both in animal and human studies and its possible application on fractures in diabetics.Scientists and health professional are focusing on improving the medical sciences for the betterment of patients. The fourth industrial revolution, which is commonly known as Industry 4.0, is a significant advancement in the field of engineering. Industry 4.0 is opening a new opportunity for digital manufacturing with greater flexibility and operational performance. This development is also going to have a positive impact in the field of orthopaedics. The purpose of this paper is to present various advancements in orthopaedics by the implementation of Industry 4.0. To undertake this study, we have studied the available literature extensively on Industry 4.0, technologies of Industry 4.0 and their role in orthopaedics. Paper briefly explains about Industry 4.0, identifies and discusses the major technologies of Industry 4.0, which will support development in orthopaedics. Finally, from the available literature, the paper identifies twelve significant advancements of Industry 4.0 in orthopaedics. Industry 4.0 uses various types of digital manufacturing and information technologies to create orthopaedics implants, patient-specific tools, devices and innovative way of treatment. This revolution is to be useful to perform better spinal surgery, knee and hip replacement, and invasive surgeries.Researchers, engineers and doctors are continuously focusing on the development of orthopaedics parts characterised by the required responses. Due to the ability of shape-changing, smart implants can change their shape after being implanted in the patient body. Finally, twelve significant advancements of 4D printing in the field of orthopaedics are identified and briefly provided. Thus, 4D printing help to provide a significant effect on personalised treatments.
Liposarcoma (LPS) is a one of the most commonly diagnosed soft tissue sarcomas. Little is known about the epidemiology and prognosis of each subtype. We present an analysis of epidemiology and survival of the subtypes of LPS using a national database.
We queried the Survival Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) and the Canadian Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES) databases for data on 7 types of LPS. Pearson's chi square was used to determine associations between variables and subtypes. Kaplan-Meier and Cox Regression analyses were performed for two tests one using SEER data and the other using variables common to both SEER and ICES.
The well-differentiated subtype was the most common subtype identified. Metastatic disease was associated with decreased survival across all subtypes and age >35 was associated with decreased survival in well-differentiated and myxoid subtypes. Tumor grade was associated with decreased survival in the well-differentiated, myxoid, mixed, and round cell subtypes. In the secondary analysis, age >35 was associated with decreased survival in the myxoid subtype.
The prognosis of liposarcoma differs greatly by subtype. Clinicians should account for patient factors at the time of diagnosis to best navigate treatment of their patients.

A heavily loaded subsidized government run OPD at tertiary care hospital normally caters 200-300 patients daily. Constant improvement in management of OPD through new policies are essential for better patient management and for proper utilization of skill, expertises and time of senior faculty. We designed a new concept of OPD TRIAGE for the same.
Study was carried out on 1800 randomly selected patients, 950 each on triage & non triage interventional day.Patients were interviewed and changes in their satisfaction level were noted through a questionnaire. Senior treating faculty were also questioned about their changes in behaviour towards patient due to the intervention.
On triage days around 91% patients are satisfied with professional care, depth of relationship, doctor's attitude, counselling from doctor. While on non triage days, this figure is only 51%. Regarding treating doctors, around 93% percent of the time, the consultants were more happy and enthusiastic to consult patients on OPD triage days.

Asbestos is a well-known carcinogen for humans. The aim of this study is to develop a tool to estimate occupational asbestos exposure in Italy after the ban using information collected in a national dataset.
Data were collected from firm registries of workers exposed to asbestos in the period 1996-2016. Descriptive statistics (arithmetic mean, standard deviation, geometric mean and geometric standard deviation) were calculated for the main exposure-related variables (activity sector, occupational group and exposure period). An estimate of workers potentially exposed to asbestos was also performed.
A total of 19 704 airborne measurements of asbestos exposure was selected from the national database of occupational exposures in the sectors of asbestos abatement. Overall, a geometric mean of 7.93 f l-1 was found, and chrysotile was the asbestos type that had more exposures (41%). A total of 46 422 workers was estimated to be potentially at asbestos exposure risk. Exposure data were summarized by calendar period, activity sector and occupational group.

However, whether and how GNB4 promotes GC progression are still unknown. In this study, we found that GNB4 was highly expressed in GC tissues compared to that in non-tumor tissues and was significantly associated with tumor invasion depth, pathological stage and poor survival rate of GC patients. Both gain-of-function and loss-of-function studies revealed that GNB4 significantly enhanced GC cell growth and motility both in vitro and in vivo. Further studies revealed that GNB4 overexpression induced G1-S transition and promoted the process of epithelial-mesenchymal transformation. These tumor promoting effects were mediated by GNB4 which activates the Erk1/2 pathway through upregulating Erk1/2 phosphorylation, as U0126, an Erk1/2 phosphorylation inhibitor, could significantly inhibit GNB4-mediated cell proliferation, migration and invasion. However, the link between the MMN response and its underlying cerebral mechanisms in 22q11.2 DS remains unexamined. We measured auditory-evoked potentials to frequency deviant stimuli with high-density electroencephalogram and volumetric estimates of cortical and thalamic auditory areas with structural T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging in a sample of 130 individuals, 70 with 22q11.2 DS and 60 age-matched typically developing (TD) individuals. Compared to TD group, the 22q11.2 deletion carriers reveal reduced MMN response and significant changes in topographical maps and decreased gray matter volumes of cortical and subcortical auditory areas, however, without any correlations between MMN alteration and structural changes. Furthermore, exploratory research on the presence of hallucinations (H+\H-) reveals no change in MMN response in 22q11.2DS (H+ and H-) as compared to TD individuals. Nonetheless, we observe bilateral volume reduction of the superior temporal gyrus and left medial geniculate in 22q11.2DSH+ as compared to 22q11.2DSH- and TD participants. These results suggest that the mismatch response might be a promising neurophysiological marker of functional changes within the auditory pathways that might underlie elevated risk for the development of psychotic symptoms.

Smartphone-based contact tracing apps can contribute to reducing COVID-19 transmission rates and thereby support countries emerging from lockdowns as restrictions are gradually eased.
The primary objective of our study is to determine the potential uptake of a contact tracing app in the Dutch population, depending on the characteristics of the app.
A discrete choice experiment was conducted in a nationally representative sample of 900 Dutch respondents. Simulated maximum likelihood methods were used to estimate population average and individual-level preferences using a mixed logit model specification. Individual-level uptake probabilities were calculated based on the individual-level preference estimates and subsequently aggregated into the sample as well as subgroup-specific contact tracing app adoption rates.
The predicted app adoption rates ranged from 59.3% to 65.7% for the worst and best possible contact tracing app, respectively. The most realistic contact tracing app had a predicted adoption orget uptake of 60% that has been formulated by the Dutch government. The main challenge will be to increase the uptake among older adults, who are least inclined to install and use a COVID-19 contact tracing app.
The COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated a rapid increase of space in highly infectious disease intensive care units (ICUs). At Houston Methodist Hospital (HMH), a virtual intensive care unit (vICU) was used amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
The aim of this paper was to detail the novel adaptations and rapid expansion of the vICU that were applied to achieve patient-centric solutions while protecting staff and patients' families during the pandemic.
The planned vICU implementation was redirected to meet the emerging needs of conversion of COVID-19 ICUs, including alterations to staged rollout timing, virtual and in-person staffing, and scope of application. With the majority of the hospital critical care physician workforce redirected to rapidly expanded COVID-19 ICUs, the non-COVID-19 ICUs were managed by cardiovascular surgeons, cardiologists, neurosurgeons, and acute care surgeons. HMH expanded the vICU program to fill the newly depleted critical care expertise in the non-COVID-19 units to provide urgent, emsearch is required to examine the impact of innovative applications of telecritical care in the treatment of critically ill patients.
Telecritical care has been established as an advantageous mechanism for the delivery of critical care expertise during the expedited rollout of the vICU at Houston Methodist Hospital. Smartphone-based contact tracing apps can contribute to reducing COVID-19 transmission rates and thereby support countries emerging from lockdowns as restrictions are gradually eased. The primary objective of our study is to determine the potential uptake of a contact tracing app in the Dutch population, depending on the characteristics of the app. A discrete choice experiment was conducted in a nationally representative sample of 900 Dutch respondents. Simulated maximum likelihood methods were used to estimate population average and individual-level preferences using a mixed logit model specification. Individual-level uptake probabilities were calculated based on the individual-level preference estimates and subsequently aggregated into the sample as well as subgroup-specific contact tracing app adoption rates. The predicted app adoption rates ranged from 59.3% to 65.7% for the worst and best possible contact tracing app, respectively. The most realistic contact tracing app had a predicted adoption orget uptake of 60% that has been formulated by the Dutch government. The main challenge will be to increase the uptake among older adults, who are least inclined to install and use a COVID-19 contact tracing app. The COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated a rapid increase of space in highly infectious disease intensive care units (ICUs). At Houston Methodist Hospital (HMH), a virtual intensive care unit (vICU) was used amid the COVID-19 outbreak. The aim of this paper was to detail the novel adaptations and rapid expansion of the vICU that were applied to achieve patient-centric solutions while protecting staff and patients' families during the pandemic. The planned vICU implementation was redirected to meet the emerging needs of conversion of COVID-19 ICUs, including alterations to staged rollout timing, virtual and in-person staffing, and scope of application. With the majority of the hospital critical care physician workforce redirected to rapidly expanded COVID-19 ICUs, the non-COVID-19 ICUs were managed by cardiovascular surgeons, cardiologists, neurosurgeons, and acute care surgeons. Currently, TiLV has been reported in 16 countries, and this number is continuing to rise due to improved diagnostic assays and surveillance activities around the world. In this review, we summarize the up-to-date knowledge of TiLV with regard to TiLV host species, the clinical signs of a TiLV infection, the affected tissues, pathogenesis and potential disease risk factors. We also describe the reported information concerning the virus itself its morphology, genetic make-up and transmission pathways. We review the current methods for virus detection and potential control measures. We close the review of the TiLV story so far, by offering a commentary on the major TiLV research gaps, why these are delaying future TiLV research and why the TiLV field needs to come together and proceed as a more collaborative scientific community if there is any hope limiting the impact of this serious virus.By keeping tropical shrimp, like Litopenaeus vannamei, in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), valuable food for human consumption can be produced sustainable. L. vannamei tolerates low salinities, and therefore, the systems can operate under brackish water conditions. The stabilization of the microbial community in RAS might be difficult under high organic loads, and therefore, water treatment measures like UV irradiation or ozone application are commonly used for bacterial reduction. To investigate the impact of these measures, the effects of UV irradiation and ozone application were studied in small-scale brackish water RAS with a salinity of 15‰ stocked with L. vannamei. UV reactors with 7 and 9 W were used, and by ozonizers with a power of 5-50 mg/hr, the redox potential in the water was adjusted to 350 mV. Ozone had a stabilizing effect on the microbial composition in the water and on biofilms of tank surfaces and shrimp carapaces, prevented an increase of nitrite and accelerated the degradation of nitrate in the water. UV irradiation led to changes in the microbial composition and was less effective in optimizing the chemical water quality. Thus, the use of ozone could be recommended for water treatment in brackish water RAS for shrimp.Intestinal failure-associated liver disease (IFALD) can lead to increased morbidity and mortality in patients with intestinal failure (IF). Attendance rates varied between studies from 35% to 85%. The rate of missed or delayed attendance ranged from 14% to 51%, whereas 25% of patients were lost to follow-up at 12 months. Non-adherence was found to be multifactorial and included patient related reasons, demographic characteristics and clinical factors. Enablers to adherence included patient understanding of the disease and treatment. Here we present the results from the first large-scale satellite tracking study of K. audax in the Indian Ocean. We tagged 49 K. audax with pop-up archival satellite-linked tags off the Kenyan coast from 2015 to 2019. Individuals were highly mobile, covering horizontal distances of up to 9187 km over periods ranging up to 183 days, with a mean daily distance of ~48 km. Long-distance movements were recorded to the east and north of East Africa, with the most distant tracks extending north to the Arabian Sea and east to near the Maldives. None of the K. audax swam south of East Africa. Kernel utilization distributions of fish locations demonstrated their shifting seasonal activity hotspots. Over the sport-fishing season (and tagging period) in Kenya, from December to March, K. audax typically stayed off the East African coast. After March, the activity hotspot shifted north to a region close to the Horn of Africa and Socotra Island. We close the review of the TiLV story so far, by offering a commentary on the major TiLV research gaps, why these are delaying future TiLV research and why the TiLV field needs to come together and proceed as a more collaborative scientific community if there is any hope limiting the impact of this serious virus.By keeping tropical shrimp, like Litopenaeus vannamei, in recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), valuable food for human consumption can be produced sustainable. L. vannamei tolerates low salinities, and therefore, the systems can operate under brackish water conditions. The stabilization of the microbial community in RAS might be difficult under high organic loads, and therefore, water treatment measures like UV irradiation or ozone application are commonly used for bacterial reduction. To investigate the impact of these measures, the effects of UV irradiation and ozone application were studied in small-scale brackish water RAS with a salinity of 15‰ stocked with L. vannamei. UV reactors with 7 and 9 W were used, and by ozonizers with a power of 5-50 mg/hr, the redox potential in the water was adjusted to 350 mV. Ozone had a stabilizing effect on the microbial composition in the water and on biofilms of tank surfaces and shrimp carapaces, prevented an increase of nitrite and accelerated the degradation of nitrate in the water. UV irradiation led to changes in the microbial composition and was less effective in optimizing the chemical water quality. Thus, the use of ozone could be recommended for water treatment in brackish water RAS for shrimp.Intestinal failure-associated liver disease (IFALD) can lead to increased morbidity and mortality in patients with intestinal failure (IF). We report the case of a premature infant born at 25 weeks' gestation at a neighboring facility that developed surgical necrotizing enterocolitis and secondary IF with 6 cm of small bowel remaining measured from the ligament of treitz with jejunocolonic anastomosis. The patient's course was complicated by IFALD and transferred to our intestinal rehabilitation program at 3 months of age. He was treated with SMOF lipid in reduced lipid dosages to prevent and treat IFALD, including cycling of parenteral nutrition, monitoring of the glucose infusion rate, and adjusting the micronutrient, trace elements, and aggressive enteral feeding. During the course of his treatment, he experienced normalization of his liver profile tests and progressed toward enteral autonomy.The purpose of this study was to review adherence rates to intravitreal injections in the treatment of diabetic macula oedema and to identify factors associated with adherence. A systematic search of Embase, Medline, PsycINFO and CINAHL was conducted up to May 2020. Two authors independently screened, selected and appraised the studies. Seven articles on anti-VEGF treatment were found to meet the inclusion criteria. No studies were found on intravitreal corticosteroids or dexamethasone implants. Attendance rates varied between studies from 35% to 85%. The rate of missed or delayed attendance ranged from 14% to 51%, whereas 25% of patients were lost to follow-up at 12 months. Non-adherence was found to be multifactorial and included patient related reasons, demographic characteristics and clinical factors. Enablers to adherence included patient understanding of the disease and treatment. Further research in this area is warranted in order to better understand adherence in these patients and to improve patient outcomes.Striped marlin Kajikia audax are globally Near Threatened and their stock in the Indian Ocean was last assessed as "overfished and subject to overfishing". Significant gaps in our understanding of their ecology remain, hampering the efforts of fisheries managers to ensure stock sustainability. There is a particular lack of fisheries-independent data. Here we present the results from the first large-scale satellite tracking study of K. audax in the Indian Ocean. We tagged 49 K. audax with pop-up archival satellite-linked tags off the Kenyan coast from 2015 to 2019. Individuals were highly mobile, covering horizontal distances of up to 9187 km over periods ranging up to 183 days, with a mean daily distance of ~48 km. Long-distance movements were recorded to the east and north of East Africa, with the most distant tracks extending north to the Arabian Sea and east to near the Maldives. None of the K. audax swam south of East Africa. Kernel utilization distributions of fish locations demonstrated their shifting seasonal activity hotspots. Over the sport-fishing season (and tagging period) in Kenya, from December to March, K. audax typically stayed off the East African coast. After March, the activity hotspot shifted north to a region close to the Horn of Africa and Socotra Island. The parents of the intervention group reported improvements in social skills and social adjustment, whereas the teachers reported increases in social performance. Findings also indicated that affect recognition skills, social overtures, and reactions to peers were improved in the intervention group. Although the evidence of the pilot study should be considered as preliminary, it gives some indication of the feasibility of the SOCO group intervention and supports the usability of the theoretical background and approach for multiple outcome measures.Assuming that moral enhancement is morally permissible, I contend that a more careful theoretical treatment of emotion and the affective landscape is needed to advance both our understanding and the prospects of interventions aimed at moral enhancement. Using Douglas' proposal for the direct modulation of counter-moral emotions as a foil for discussion, I argue that the direct modulation of emotion fails to address underlying aspects of an agent's psychology that will give rise to a range of counter-moral motives beyond the emotion that is targeted. This is because the direct modulation of emotion does not accommodate the fact that an emotional episode or emotional disposition is part of a network of other dispositions and responses, against a backdrop of our having cares and goals, as well as other cognitive content that can mediate how we apprehend a situation. By focusing on emotion rather than on moral capacity as other critiques have done, I thus argue that direct modulation is likely to be ineffective, and, more positively, by drawing out patterns of connections across the affective landscape, we can better tease out what it is that we should really be targeting if we are to achieve robust and meaningful moral change.
To evaluate the difference between early and delayed removal of indwelling urinary catheter after radical hysterectomy (RH) or radical trachelectomy (RT).
An ambispective study was conducted in early-stage cervical cancer patients who underwent RH or RT. Delayed indwelling urinary catheter removal occurred on a postoperative day (POD) 7 in the retrospective group (January 2012-November 2013), and early removal occurred on POD 1 in the prospective group (May 2014-June 2017).The postvoid residual (PVR) test was performed after indwelling catheter removal in both groups.
Our sample included 47 patients in the delayed group and 48 in the early one. There was no difference in age, body mass index, tumor size, histology, stage, surgical approach, and intraoperative and postoperative complications. Indwelling urinary catheter reinsertion was needed in 16 (34%) patients in the delayed group and 12 (25%) in the early group (P = .37), with no statistical difference between the median PVR volumes -82.5 and 45 mL (P = .06), respectively. Seven (14.9%) patients in the delayed group presented with 30-day urinary tract infection vs two (4.2%) in the early group (P = .09).

The adoption of an emergency action plan for athletics (AEAP) minimizes the consequences of injuries. School nurses may play an important role in the adoption of an AEAP. The purpose of our study was to describe school nurse's knowledge and perceptions related to AEAP adoption.
An online survey, following the Precaution-Adoption Process Model, examining respondents' readiness to act, was distributed to 1228 school nurses to evaluate their knowledge and perception of an AEAP, with N=131 (10.6%) responding.
Sixty-one school nurses were unaware of AEAP adoption at their school. A lack of athletic training services at the school was associated with not adopting an AEAP. The most frequently reported barrier to adopting an AEAP related to finances. When nurses reported perceiving more barriers to adopting an AEAP, their schools were less likely to adopt one.
A large number of nurses were unaware if their school adopted an AEAP. There is a need to improve nurses' knowledge and perceptions to promote AEAP development.

Care providers are major influencers within the after-school care setting, impacting health promoting opportunities for children. However, little is known regarding the role care providers play in health promotion interventions in the after-school care setting, specifically those using comprehensive approaches. The purpose of this research was to explore care providers' role and experience promoting healthy eating and physical activity through the after-school care health promotion intervention School's Out … Let's Move (SOLMo). SOLMo was guided by the evidence-based comprehensive school health framework. Men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender women (TGW) are disproportionately impacted by HIV and may face barriers to HIV status disclosure with negative ramifications for HIV prevention and care. We evaluated HIV status disclosure to sexual partners, HIV treatment outcomes, and stigma patterns of MSM and TGW in Abuja and Lagos, Nigeria.
Previously-diagnosed MSM and TGW living with HIV who enrolled in the TRUST/RV368 cohort from March 2013 to August 2018 were asked, "Have you told your (male/female) sexual partners (MSP/FSP) that you are living with HIV?" In separate analyses, robust Poisson regression models were used to estimate risk ratios (RRs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) for characteristics associated with HIV status disclosure to MSP and FSP. Self-reported stigma indicators were compared between groups.
Of 493 participants living with HIV, 153 (31.0%) had disclosed their HIV status to some or all MSP since being diagnosed. Among 222 with FSP, 34 (15.3%) had disclosed to some or allosure may improve HIV management outcomes in these highly-marginalized populations with a high burden of HIV infection.
HIV status disclosure to sexual partners was uncommon among Nigerian MSM and TGW living with HIV but was associated with improved HIV care outcomes. Disclosure was not associated with substantially increased experiences of stigma. Strategies to encourage HIV status disclosure may improve HIV management outcomes in these highly-marginalized populations with a high burden of HIV infection.
The occurrence and degree of suicidal ideation during the past month in adolescents should be regarded seriously. Several studies have noted that humor expression style and depressive emotion may influence adolescents' suicidal ideation. However, there is insufficient evidence concerning whether positive emotion reduces such suicidal ideation in adolescents. In addition, the relationships among humor expression, depressive emotion, positive emotion and suicidal ideation remain to be confirmed. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to test the mediating roles of depressive emotion and positive emotion in the relationship between humor expression and recent adolescent's suicidal ideation.
A total of 1551 students in junior high school completed questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) with LISREL 8.80 and Monte Carlo resampling with R.
The results indicate that suicidal ideation in adolescents during the past month was related not only to humor expression but mediate the influence of humor expression on suicidal ideation among adolescents, and positive emotion may mediate the influence of depressive emotion on suicidal ideation. More attention should be paid to decreasing adolescents' self-deprecating humor expression and depressive emotion, whereas more witty response humor expression and positive emotion should be encouraged to prevent their suicidal ideation.

This was a three-phases study that included the following steps a) a literature research to review existing instruments that assess healthy spine-related behavior in elementary schoolchildren; b) development of a new instrument namely the ****-care Behavior Assessment Questionnaire (BABAQ) based on the Social Cognitive Theory and existing instruments, and c) conducting a cross sectional study to test psychometric properties of the BABAQ by estimating the content validity ratio (CVR), the content validity index (CVI), performing confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), reliability analysis, and convergent validity as estimated by the Average Variance Extracted (AVE).

OBJECTIVE. This study aimed to explore the performance of machine learning (ML)-based MRI texture analysis in discriminating between well-differentiated (WD) oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and moderately or poorly differentiated OSCC. Dimension reduction was performed using reproducibility analysis by two radiologists, collinearity analysis, and feature selection with a minimum-redundancy maximum-relevance algorithm. Models were created using random forest (RF), artificial neural network, and logistic regression (LR) alone and with a synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE). Classifier performance was assessed using 10-fold cross-validation. RESULTS. Dimension reduction steps yielded eight texture features, including four features from each sequence. None of the clinical variables was selected. Among the eight texture features, five and seven texture features showed significant differences between the two groups in the actual data and balanced data, respectively (p less then 0.05). All classifiers with SMOTE achieved better performances than those alone. The RF classifier with SMOTE achieved the best performance with an area under the ROC curve of 0.936 and accuracy of 86.3%. However, no definition of the dementia-friendly hospital currently exists. This qualitative focus group study aimed to describe stakeholders' perspectives of the dementia-friendly hospital. Four stakeholder groups were included people with dementia, relatives, hospital staff, and representatives from the Danish Alzheimer Association. The thematic analysis suggests that a person-centered approach is a key feature. This approach is described as a continuously reflexive awareness of how to see the person behind the dementia diagnosis. After the removal of foliar trichomes of T. brachycaulos, the metal contents on the leaf surface decreased, whereas the contents of most metals inside the leaf increased.

There has been a growing interest in the application of gamification (ie, the use of game elements) to computerized cognitive training. The introduction of targeted gamification features to such tasks may increase motivation and engagement as well as improve intervention effects. However, it is possible that game elements can also have adverse effects on cognitive training (eg, be a distraction), which can outweigh their potential motivational benefits. So far, little is known about the effectiveness of such applications.
This study aims to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the effect of gamification on process outcomes (eg, motivation) and on changes in the training domain (eg, cognition), as well as to explore the role of potential moderators.
We searched PsycINFO, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, ProQuest Psychology, Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, Science Direct, Excerpta Medica dataBASE, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Xplore, Asct of gamified training tasks. However, meta-analytic findings were limited due to a small number of studies.
Overall, this review provides an overview of the existing research in the domain and provides evidence for the effectiveness of gamification in improving motivation/engagement in the context of cognitive training. We discuss the shortcomings in the current literature and provide recommendations for future research.

Mood disorders affect hundreds of millions of people worldwide, imposing a substantial medical and economic burden. Existing diagnostic methods for mood disorders often result in a delay until accurate diagnosis, exacerbating the challenges of these disorders. Advances in digital tools for psychiatry and understanding the biological basis of mood disorders offer the potential for novel diagnostic methods that facilitate early and accurate diagnosis of patients.
The Delta Trial was launched to develop an algorithm-based diagnostic aid combining symptom data and proteomic biomarkers to reduce the misdiagnosis of bipolar disorder (BD) as a major depressive disorder (MDD) and achieve more accurate and earlier MDD diagnosis.
Participants for this ethically approved trial were recruited through the internet, mainly through Facebook advertising. Participants were then screened for eligibility, consented to participate, and completed an adaptive digital questionnaire that was designed and created for the trial treatment for patients with mood disorders.

As the need for sharing genomic data grows, privacy issues and concerns, such as the ethics surrounding data sharing and disclosure of personal information, are raised.
The main purpose of this study was to verify whether genomic data is sufficient to predict a patient's personal information.
RNA expression data and matched patient personal information were collected from 9538 patients in The Cancer Genome Atlas program. Five personal information variables (age, gender, race, cancer type, and cancer stage) were recorded for each patient. Four different machine learning algorithms (support vector machine, decision tree, random forest, and artificial neural network) were used to determine whether a patient's personal information could be accurately predicted from RNA expression data. Performance measurement of the prediction models was based on the accuracy and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve. We selected five cancer types (breast carcinoma, kidney renal clear cell carcinoma, head aer and race were predicted more accurately than other variables in the samples. On average, the accuracy of cancer stage prediction ranged between 0.71-0.67, while the age prediction accuracy ranged between 0.18-0.23 for the five cancer types.
