  • The brain's endogenous capacity to restore damaged myelin deteriorates during the course of demyelinating disorders. Currently, no treatment options are available to establish remyelination. Chronic demyelination leads to damaged axons and irreversible destruction of the central nervous system (CNS). We identified two promising therapeutic candidates which enhance remyelination oncostatin M (OSM), a member of the interleukin-6 family, and downstream mediator tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-1 (TIMP-1). Although precise heating is critical to performing these assays, it is challenging to provide it in an electricity-free format away from established infrastructure. Chemical heaters are electricity-free and use exothermic reactions. However, they are unsuitable for point-of-care multistep reactions because they sacrifice portability, have a narrow range of achievable temperatures, and long ramp-up times. Here we developed a miniature heater by modulating the lithium-water reaction kinetics using bubbles in a channel. Our heaters are up to 8,000 times smaller than current devices and can provide precise (within 5 °C) and tunable heating from 37 °C to 65 °C (∆TRT = 12 °C to 40 °C) with ramp-up times of a minute. We demonstrate field portablity and stability and show their use in an electricity-free multistep workflow that needs a range of temperatures. Ultimately, we envision providing better access to cutting edge biochemical techniques, including diagnostics, by making portable and electricity-free heating available at any location.The stochasticity of gene expression presents significant challenges to the modeling of genetic networks. A two-state model describing promoter switching, transcription, and messenger RNA (mRNA) decay is the standard model of stochastic mRNA dynamics in eukaryotic cells. Here, we extend this model to include mRNA maturation, cell division, gene replication, dosage compensation, and growth-dependent transcription. We derive expressions for the time-dependent distributions of nascent mRNA and mature mRNA numbers, provided two assumptions hold 1) nascent mRNA dynamics are **** faster than those of mature mRNA; and 2) gene-inactivation events occur far more frequently than gene-activation events. We confirm that thousands of eukaryotic genes satisfy these assumptions by using data from yeast, mouse, and human cells. We use the expressions to perform a sensitivity analysis of the coefficient of variation of mRNA fluctuations averaged over the cell cycle, for a large number of genes in mouse embryonic stem cells, identifying degradation and gene-activation rates as the most sensitive parameters. Furthermore, it is shown that, despite the model's complexity, the time-dependent distributions predicted by our model are generally well approximated by the negative binomial distribution. Finally, we extend our model to include translation, protein decay, and auto-regulatory feedback, and derive expressions for the approximate time-dependent protein-number distributions, assuming slow protein decay. Our expressions enable us to study how complex biological processes contribute to the fluctuations of gene products in eukaryotic cells, as well as allowing a detailed quantitative comparison with experimental data via maximum-likelihood methods. AB569 was also efficacious at killing the model organism Pseudomonas aeruginosa in biofilms and in a murine chronic lung infection model. AB569 was not toxic to human cell lines at bactericidal concentrations using a basic viability assay. In this study, we generated two populations of rice F1 hybrids with present-day commercial hybrid parents, genotyped the parents with 50k SNP chip and genome resequencing, and recorded the phenotype of ∼2,000 hybrids at three field trials. By integrating these data with the collected genotypes of ∼4,200 rice landraces and improved varieties that were reported previously, we found that the male and female parents have different levels of genome introgressions from other rice subpopulations, including indica, aus, and japonica, therefore shaping heterotic loci in the hybrids. Among the introgressed exogenous genome, we found that heterotic loci, including Ghd8/DTH8, Gn1a, and IPA1 existed in wild rice, but were significantly divergently selected among the rice subpopulations, suggesting these loci were subject to environmental adaptation.

The results of this study suggest that target practice is more effective for improving the landing technique employed during actual shots than shadow practice.The aims of this study were firstly to compare the similarity in upper-body muscle activation between the bench press and push-up at similar loads, and secondly to establish a 1-RM prediction equation between the two exercises based upon the load-velocity relationship. Twenty resistance-trained male athletes (age 22.5 ± 5.24 years, body mass 83.7 ± 10.7 kg, body height 1.80 ± 0.06 m) performed push-ups and bench presses with four different loads. Push-ups were performed without a weight vest and with a 10-20-30 kg weight vest. Bench presses were performed at 50-80% of athletes' assumed 1 repetition max (1-RM) in 10 kg steps, while a linear encoder measured performance during the exercises. A load-velocity relationship was established as a product of the load and velocity for the push-up and bench press per participant and the equation was used to establish a predicted 1-RM. Mean muscle activation of eight upper body muscles was recorded for each exercise and each load. The main findings of this study demonstrate an extremely large association between the predicted 1-RM loads performed with the push-up and bench press (r = 0.93) in experienced resistance trained men. Furthermore, most muscles showed similar activations between the two exercises with the different loads except the deltoid and biceps brachii muscles. It may be concluded that it is possible to predict a cross-over 1-RM between the two exercises based upon the load-velocity relationship in each exercise, and that training push-ups largely targets the same muscles as the bench press except the deltoid and biceps muscles. For coaches and athletes, the use of this method is a low cost and time-effective alternative for standard 1-RM bench press testing to predict maximal upper body strength.The practice of community pharmacy in low and middle-income countries, including in Indonesia, is often described as in the state of infancy with several intractable barriers that have been substantially and continuously hampering the practice. Such description might be valid in highlighting how pharmacy is practiced and the conditions within and beyond community pharmacy organizations. Therefore, it is not surprising that the concept of integrating community pharmacy into the primary care system may not be considered in the contemporary discourse despite the fact that community pharmacy has been operating within communities for years. However, in the case of Indonesia, we argue that changes in the health care system within the past decade particularly with the introduction of the universal health coverage (UHC) in 2014, may have significantly amplified the role of pharmacists. There is good evidence which highlights the contribution of pharmacist as a substantial health care element in primary care practice. The initiative for employing pharmacist, identified in this article as primary care pharmacist, in the setting of community health center [puskesmas] and the introduction of affiliated or contracted community pharmacy under the UHC have enabled pharmacist to work together with other primary care providers. Moreover, government agenda under the "Smart Use of Medicines" program [Gema Cermat] recognizes pharmacists as the agent of change for improving the rational use of medicines in the community. Community pharmacy is developing, albeit slowly, and is able to grasp a novel position to deliver pharmacy-related primary care services to the general public through new services, for example drug monitoring and home care. Nevertheless, integrating community pharmacy into primary care is relatively a new notion in the Indonesian setting, and is a challenging process given the presence of barriers in the macro, meso- and micro-level of practice.The central role of the Portuguese National Health Service (P-NHS) guarantees virtually free universal coverage. Key policy papers, such as the National Health Plan and the National Plan for Patient Safety have implications for pharmacists, including an engagement in medicines reconciliation. Key changes envisaged for the future of pharmacists and their integration in primary care comprise the development and establishment of clinical pharmacy as a specialization area, peer clinician recognition and better integration in primary care teams, including full access to clinical records. These key changes would enable pharmacists to apply their competence in medicines optimization for improved patient outcomes.In this short communication we briefly describe a 69-year-old man with dilated cardiomyopathy and an implantable cardioverter defibrillator who suffered a prolonged episode of palpitations. The interrogation of the device revealed an episode of ventricular tachycardia successfully treated with antitachycardia pacing. However, just before ventricular tachycardia termination, atrial fibrillation ensued. This specific proarrhythmic effect of antitachycardia pacing is concisely discussed. Retrograde conduction from the ventricles to the atria causing increased atrial pressures and mechano-electrical feedback, in the presence of a vulnerable atrial substrate, seems to be the most plausible mechanism. .

  • We employ chevron-like graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) synthesized by a solution-based chemical route to develop a novel electrochemical sensor for determination of the neurotransmitter epinephrine (EPI). The sensor surface, a glassy carbon electrode modified with GNRs, is characterized by atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy, which show that the electrode surface modification comprises of bi-dimensional multilayer-stacked GNRs that retain their molecular structure. The charge transfer process occurring at the electrode interface is evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The sensor is applied to the determination of EPI, employing as an analytical signal the reduction peak corresponding to the epinephrinechrome-leucoepinephrinechrome transition (E = - 0.25 V) instead of the oxidation peak usually employed in the literature (E =  + 0.6 V) in order to minimize interferences. The results obtained demonstrate that chevron-like nanoribbons synthesized by solution methods exhibit reliable electrocatalytic activity for EPI determination. Using differential pulse voltammetry, we obtain a linear concentration range from 6.4 × 10-6 to 1.0 × 10-4 M and a detection limit of 2.1 × 10-6 M. The applicability of the sensor was evaluated by determining EPI in pharmaceutical samples with satisfactory results.The association between regional economic status and the probability of renal recovery among patients with dialysis-requiring AKI (AKI-D) is unknown. The nationwide prospective multicenter study enrolled critically ill adult patients with AKI-D in four sampled months (October 2014, along with January, April, and July 2015) in Taiwan. The regional economic status was defined by annual disposable income per capita (ADIPC) of the cities the hospitals located. Among the 1,322 enrolled patients (67.1 ± 15.5 years, 36.2% female), 833 patients (63.1%) died, and 306 (23.1%) experienced renal recovery within 90 days following discharge. We categorized all patients into high (n = 992) and low economic status groups (n = 330) by the best cut-point of ADIPC determined by the generalized additive model plot. By using the Fine and Gray competing risk regression model with mortality as a competing risk factor, we found that the independent association between regional economic status and renal recovery persisted from model 1 (no adjustment), model 2 (adjustment to basic variables), to model 3 (adjustment to basic and clinical variables; subdistribution hazard ratio, 1.422; 95% confidence interval, 1.022-1.977; p = 0.037). In conclusion, high regional economic status was an independent factor for renal recovery among critically ill patients with AKI-D.Harboyan syndrome or corneal dystrophy and progressive deafness (MIM #217400) is characterized by congenital hereditary endothelial dystrophy (CHED) and progressive, sensorineural hearing loss. Mutations in SLC4A11 are responsible for this rare genetic syndrome. Eight patients from seven unrelated families affected with Harboyan Syndrome with mean follow-up of 12.0 ± 0.9 years were thoroughly investigated for the ocular, hearing, and kidney function abnormalities and the outcome of penetrating keratoplasty (PK). Mutation analysis of SLC4A11 was performed. All patients presented with bilateral cloudy corneas since birth. Sensorineural hearing loss was detected in all patients. Seven patients (11 eyes) underwent PK with the median age at surgery of 10.1 years (7.1-22.9). The overall corneal graft survival rate after primary PK was 72.7% (8/11 eyes). The mean graft survival time was 94.6 months (95% CI 83.1-126.0). All patients had unremarkable kidney function. The c.2264G>A (p.Arg755Gln) mutation in SCL4A11 was detected in most patients (87.5%). All unrelated Karen tribe patients had p.Arg755Gln mutation, suggestive of founder effect. We found the allele frequency of this variant in the Karen population to be 0.01. The c.2263C>T (p.Arg755Trp) mutation was found in one patient with mild phenotype and the novel truncating protein mutation c.2127delG (p.Gly710fsx*25) in SCL4A11 was identified in two Thai sisters. Visual outcome and graft survival after PK were satisfactory. Our study shows that all studied patients with SLC4A11 mutations had CHED and sensorineural hearing loss, and SLC4A11 mutations were not related to the onset and severity of hearing loss or outcome of keratoplasty.Total glycoside of paeony (TGP) has been widely used to treat inflammation and immune diseases in China. Paeoniflorin (Pae) is the major active component of TGP. Although TGP has few adverse drug reactions, the slow onset and low bioavailability of Pae limit its clinical use. Enhanced efficacy without increased toxicity is pursued in developing new agents for inflammation and immune diseases. As a result, paeoniflorin-6'-O-benzene sulfonate (CP-25) derived from Pae, is developed in our group, and exhibits superior bioavailability and efficacy than Pae. Here we describe the development process and research advance on CP-25. The pharmacokinetic parameters of CP-25 and Pae were compared in vivo and in vitro.     We employ chevron-like graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) synthesized by a solution-based chemical route to develop a novel electrochemical sensor for determination of the neurotransmitter epinephrine (EPI). The sensor surface, a glassy carbon electrode modified with GNRs, is characterized by atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy, which show that the electrode surface modification comprises of bi-dimensional multilayer-stacked GNRs that retain their molecular structure. The charge transfer process occurring at the electrode interface is evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The sensor is applied to the determination of EPI, employing as an analytical signal the reduction peak corresponding to the epinephrinechrome-leucoepinephrinechrome transition (E = - 0.25 V) instead of the oxidation peak usually employed in the literature (E =  + 0.6 V) in order to minimize interferences. The results obtained demonstrate that chevron-like nanoribbons synthesized by solution methods exhibit reliable electrocatalytic activity for EPI determination. Using differential pulse voltammetry, we obtain a linear concentration range from 6.4 × 10-6 to 1.0 × 10-4 M and a detection limit of 2.1 × 10-6 M. The applicability of the sensor was evaluated by determining EPI in pharmaceutical samples with satisfactory results.The association between regional economic status and the probability of renal recovery among patients with dialysis-requiring AKI (AKI-D) is unknown. The nationwide prospective multicenter study enrolled critically ill adult patients with AKI-D in four sampled months (October 2014, along with January, April, and July 2015) in Taiwan. The regional economic status was defined by annual disposable income per capita (ADIPC) of the cities the hospitals located. Among the 1,322 enrolled patients (67.1 ± 15.5 years, 36.2% female), 833 patients (63.1%) died, and 306 (23.1%) experienced renal recovery within 90 days following discharge. We categorized all patients into high (n = 992) and low economic status groups (n = 330) by the best cut-point of ADIPC determined by the generalized additive model plot. By using the Fine and Gray competing risk regression model with mortality as a competing risk factor, we found that the independent association between regional economic status and renal recovery persisted from model 1 (no adjustment), model 2 (adjustment to basic variables), to model 3 (adjustment to basic and clinical variables; subdistribution hazard ratio, 1.422; 95% confidence interval, 1.022-1.977; p = 0.037). In conclusion, high regional economic status was an independent factor for renal recovery among critically ill patients with AKI-D.Harboyan syndrome or corneal dystrophy and progressive deafness (MIM #217400) is characterized by congenital hereditary endothelial dystrophy (CHED) and progressive, sensorineural hearing loss. Mutations in SLC4A11 are responsible for this rare genetic syndrome. Eight patients from seven unrelated families affected with Harboyan Syndrome with mean follow-up of 12.0 ± 0.9 years were thoroughly investigated for the ocular, hearing, and kidney function abnormalities and the outcome of penetrating keratoplasty (PK). Mutation analysis of SLC4A11 was performed. All patients presented with bilateral cloudy corneas since birth. Sensorineural hearing loss was detected in all patients. Seven patients (11 eyes) underwent PK with the median age at surgery of 10.1 years (7.1-22.9). The overall corneal graft survival rate after primary PK was 72.7% (8/11 eyes). The mean graft survival time was 94.6 months (95% CI 83.1-126.0). All patients had unremarkable kidney function. The c.2264G>A (p.Arg755Gln) mutation in SCL4A11 was detected in most patients (87.5%). All unrelated Karen tribe patients had p.Arg755Gln mutation, suggestive of founder effect. We found the allele frequency of this variant in the Karen population to be 0.01. The c.2263C>T (p.Arg755Trp) mutation was found in one patient with mild phenotype and the novel truncating protein mutation c.2127delG (p.Gly710fsx*25) in SCL4A11 was identified in two Thai sisters. Visual outcome and graft survival after PK were satisfactory. As a result, paeoniflorin-6'-O-benzene sulfonate (CP-25) derived from Pae, is developed in our group, and exhibits superior bioavailability and efficacy than Pae. Primary outcome measures were dry eye symptoms (Ocular Surface Disease Index survey), tear film osmolarity, and extent of meibomian gland dropout. Secondary outcomes measures were ocular redness, tear film stability, and ocular surface staining. Levels of 36 cytokines were assayed from basal tears using a multiplex bead array. RESULTS The HIV-positive group showed more extensive meibomian gland dropout relative to controls (mean ± SD, controls 29.6 ± 5.8 versus 37.0 ± 13.9%, p = 0.045). The extent of meibomian gland dropout was negatively correlated with blood CD4 T-cell count (a marker of immunodeficiency) at diagnosis (r = -0.69, p = 0.006). All other tests of anterior ocular health, including dry eye symptom levels, were not significantly different between the groups. There were no significant inter-group differences for the 36 cytokines assayed in the tear film. CONCLUSIONS We find greater meibomian gland dropout in HIV-positive individuals that is related to disease severity at diagnosis. Given this feature predisposes to dry eye disease, it suggests the need for long-term studies of anterior eye health in people with HIV. The cell growth and ethanol production from hydrolysates of various types were estimated from the volatile composition of lignocellulosic biomass by deep neural network (DNN) and the significant compositions estimated by asymmetric autoencoder-decoder (AAE). A six-layer DNN achieved good accuracy with learning and validation losses-0.033 and 0.507, respectively-and estimated overall time courses of yeast growth and ethanol fermentation. The AAE decoded the volatile compositions and represented the features of significant inhibitors via nonlinear dimensionality reduction, which was partly different from those using partial least squares regression reported previously. It revealed the significant features of hydrolysates for bioethanol production, which are lost in conventional approaches. The approach using DNN and AAE is, therefore, useful for bioethanol fermentation and other bioproductions using raw materials. A procedure is described to measure curcumin (C), demethoxycurcumin (DMC), bisdemethoxycurcumin (BDMC), tetrahydrocurcumim (TC) and their glucuronidated metabolites (CG, DMCG, and BDMCG) in plasma, brain, liver and tumor samples. The procedure involves converting the analytes to their boron difluoride derivatives and analyzing them by combined liquid chromatography coupled to an ion trap mass spectrometer operating in the negative ion MSn scan mode. The method has superb limits of detection of 0.01 nM for all curcuminoids and 0.5 nM for TC and the glucuroniated metabolites, and several representative chromatograms of biological samples containing these analytes are provided. In addition, the pharmacokinetic profile of these compounds in one human who daily consumed an over-the-counter curcuminoid product shows the peak and changes in circulating concentrations achieved by this mode of administration. We have developed new software, Re-track, that will quantify the rates of retraction and protrusion of structures emanating from the central core of a cell, such as neurites or filopodia. Re-Track, uses time-lapse images of cells in TIFF format and calculates the velocity of retraction or protrusion of a selected structure. The software uses a flexible moving boundary and has the ability to correct this boundary throughout analysis. Re-Track is fast, platform independent, and user friendly, and it can be used to follow biological events such as changes in neuronal connections, tip-growing cells such as moss, adaptive migration of cells, and similar behavior in non-biological systems. Human similarity judgments do not reliably conform to the predictions of leading theories of psychological similarity. Evidence from the triad similarity judgment task shows that people often identify thematic associates like dog and bone as more similar than taxonomic category members like dog and cat, even though thematic associates lack the type of featural or relational similarity that is foundational to theories of psychological similarity. This specific failure to predict human behavior has been addressed as a consequence of education and other individual differences, an artifact of the triad similarity judgment paradigm, or a shortcoming in psychological accounts of similarity. We investigated the judged similarity of semantically-related concepts (taxonomic category members and thematic associates) as it relates to other task-independent measures of semantic knowledge and access. Participants were assessed on reading and language ability, then event-related potentials (ERPs) were collected during a passive, sequential word reading task that presented pseudowords and taxonomically-related, thematically-related, and unrelated word sequences, and, finally, similarity judgments were collected with the classic two-alternative forced-choice triad task. The results uncovered a correspondence between ERP amplitude and triad-based similarity judgments-similarity judgment behavior reliably predicts ERP amplitude during passive word reading, absent of any instruction to consider similarity. It was also found that individual differences in reading and language ability independently predicted ERP amplitude. This evidence suggests that similarity judgments are driven by reliable patterns of thought that are not solely rooted in the interpretation of task goals or reading and language ability.

    To use a randomized controlled design to explore the effects of evidence-based medicine (EBM) education on physician assistant (PA) students' EBM knowledge, self-efficacy, and evidence-seeking behavior in a simulated clinical situation and to present a model of EBM competence.

    Sixty-one didactic-year PA students from one Midwestern University (2 sequential cohorts) were randomized to receive the standard PA curriculum plus EBM training (intervention) or the standard PA curriculum only (control). Evidence-based medicine knowledge was measured with a validated Fresno test. Self-efficacy was measured with a validated Likert scale. Clinical application of EBM skills was measured with an objective structured clinical examination (OSCE).

    Evidence-based medicine education led to significant improvements on the Fresno and self-efficacy tests, both within and between groups. On the OSCE, the intervention group performed no better than the control group. Higher Fresno pretest scores were significantly related to decreasing improvements in the posttest scores R = -0.634.

    Teaching EBM to PA students improved their EBM knowledge and self-efficacy but not their clinical application. Future research should focus on enhancing EBM evaluation and application in the clinical setting.

    The purpose of this research was to assess the role of noncognitive factors (socioeconomic status [SES], overinvolved parenting, and grit) in predicting perceived stress and grade point average (GPA) among graduate students enrolled in a physician assistant (PA) program.

    In this cross-sectional survey study, 98 PA students completed surveys measuring SES, overinvolved parenting, grit (passion), grit (perseverance), self-reported GPA, and perceived stress.

    More overinvolved parenting was reported by PA students under the age of 25 years compared to those over the age of 25. Lower SES predicted higher perceived stress. After controlling for SES, grit (perseverance) partially mediated the relationship between overinvolved parenting and perceived stress. Neither parenting style nor grit was associated with GPA.

One approach was the establishment of the academic fellowship concept in 1998. Since then, 5 PA programs have designed fellowships, 3 of which were implemented and graduated fellows. To institute and develop an academic fellowship takes time, resources, and buy-in from faculty and students. The structure of the curricula within the fellowships has been similar since 1998 and includes faculty development opportunities, lecture development and delivery, student assessment, small group facilitation, interprofessional education, and committee work. Most fellowship-trained educators have entered faculty positions after completion of their fellowship. They appear to use sound educational strategies in their teaching and are successful in their scholarly productivity. Academic fellowships are just one route in the transition to PA education, and while they may require a significant investment from the sponsoring institution and program, they can provide a unique opportunity for PAs to immerse themselves in the faculty experience before the full commitment to a career change.
    The effects of oral contrast agents (OCAs) on dosimetry have not been studied in detail. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the influence of OCAs on dose calculation in volumetric-modulated arc therapy plans for rectal cancer.

    From 2008 to 2016, computed tomography (CT) images were obtained from 33 rectal cancer patients administered OCA with or without intravenous contrast agent (ICA) and 14 patients who received no contrast agent. CT numbers of organs at risk were recorded and converted to electronic densities.     OCA significantly increased the mean and maximum densities of the bowels, while the effects of ICA on these parameters depended on the blood supply of the organs. With OCA, the actual doses for PTV were significantly higher than planned and doses to the bowel increaor near the PTV.
    Contrast agents applied in simulation cause underestimation of doses in actual treatment. The overdose due to ICA was slight, while that due to OCA was moderate. The bowel volume receiving ≥50Gy was dramatically increased when OCA within the bowel was absent. New promising medications have been widely developed and tested, although subsequent clinical studies are warranted. As an emerging number of most notable studies in SLE were published in both clinical area and basic research in 2019, we aim to summarize the highest quality data on SLE regarding novel insights of pathogenesis, updated recommendations, hot-spot issues on clinical manifestations, new understanding of disease prognosis, and most importantly, the therapeutic advances in SLE in this review.

One approach was the establishment of the academic fellowship concept in 1998. Since then, 5 PA programs have designed fellowships, 3 of which were implemented and graduated fellows. To institute and develop an academic fellowship takes time, resources, and buy-in from faculty and students. The structure of the curricula within the fellowships has been similar since 1998 and includes faculty development opportunities, lecture development and delivery, student assessment, small group facilitation, interprofessional education, and committee work. Most fellowship-trained educators have entered faculty positions after completion of their fellowship. They appear to use sound educational strategies in their teaching and are successful in their scholarly productivity.     To assess the burden of rare genetic variants and to estimate the contribution of known ALS genes in an Italian population-based cohort we performed whole genome sequencing in 959 ALS patients and 677 matched healthy controls.

We have previously reported that promotion of B cell proliferation by LMP1 coincided with an induction of aerobic glycolysis. To further examine LMP1-induced metabolic reprogramming in B cells, we ectopically expressed LMP1 in an EBV-negative Burkitt's lymphoma (BL) cell line preceding a targeted metabolic analysis. This analysis revealed that the most significant LMP1-induced metabolic changes were to fatty acids. Significant changes to fatty acid levels were also found in primary B cells following EBV-mediated B-cell growth transformation.Ectopic expression of LMP1 and EBV-mediated B-cell growth transformation induced fatty acid synthase (FASN) and increased lipid droplet formation.     A systematic review (PROSPERO CRD42017078512) was conducted using the, 2018 COSMIN criteria. Eight electronic databases were searched. Papers describing the development of self-report measures of the parent-infant-bond, attachment or relationship from pregnancy until two years postpartum or the assessment of their psychometric properties were included.

    Sixty-five articles evaluating 17 original measures and 13 modified versions were identified and reviewed. The studies' methodological quality (risk of bias) varied between 'very good' and 'inadequate' depending on the measurement property assessed; however, scale development studies were mostly of 'inadequate' quality. Although most measures had good clinical utility, the psychometric evaluation of their properties was largely poor. The original or modified versions of the Postpartum Bonding Questionnaire collectively received the strongest psychometric evaluation ratings with high quality of evidence.

    The aim of the study was to describe factors associated with and mortality consequences of nonacceptance of a public epilepsy care initiative.

    In this cross-sectional study, we contacted 207 (36%) people out of 575 who screened positive for epilepsy during a population-based survey of 59,509 people. They were invited for neurological evaluation and care provision (including antiseizure medications (ASMs)) but chose not to engage. Structured questionnaires and qualitative interviews were conducted to determine reason for their nonengagement. Factors associated with nonengagement were evaluated by univariate and multivariate analysis. We conducted verbal autopsies for those who had died.

    Ten (5%) of the 207 individuals died since the initial screening; six with epile, though the underlying reasons may be varied.The effects of substituent on excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) and hydrogen bonding of N-(8-Quinolyl) salicylaldimine (QS) have been studied by theoretical calculation with DFT and TDDFT. The representative electron-withdrawing nitryl and electron-donating methoxyl were selected to analyze the effects on geometries, intramolecular hydrogen bond interaction, absorption/fluorescence spectra, and the ESIPT process.   • The airborne transmission of SARS-CoV-2 is still debated. The aim of this rapid review is to evaluate the COVID-19 risk associated with the presence of air-conditioning systems. Original studies (both observational and experimental researches) written in English and with no limit on time, on the airborne transmission of SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV, and SARS-CoV-2 coronaviruses that were associated with outbreaks, were included. Searches were made on PubMed/MEDLINE, PubMed Central (PMC), Google Scholar databases, and medRxiv. A snowball strategy was adopted to extend the search. Fourteen studies reporting outbreaks of coronavirus infection associated with the air-conditioning systems were included. All studies were carried out in the Far East. In six out the seven studies on SARS, the role of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) in the outbreak was indirectly proven by the spatial and temporal pattern of cases, or by airflow-dynamics models. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/e6446.html In one report on MERS, the contamination of HVAC by viral particles was demonstrated. Both postural ergonomic analysis (RULA/REBA) and two-dimensional static biomechanical analysis were automatized as two toolboxes in the proposed system to provide comprehensive WMSD risk assessment based on the kinematic data acquired from wearable inertial sensors. The effectiveness of the developed system was validated through a follow-up experiment among 20 young subjects when performing representative tasks in the heavy industry. The RULA/REBA scores derived from our system achieved high consistency with experts' ratings (intraclass correlation coefficient ≥0.83, classification accuracy >88%), and good agreement was also found between low-**** compression force from the developed system and the reference system (mean intersystem coefficient of multiple correlation >0.89 and relative error less then 9.5%). These findings suggested that the wearable inertial sensors-based automated system could be effectively used for WMSD risk assessment of workers when performing tasks in the workspace.Microelectrode recording (MER) in deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery has long been a recognized and efficient method for defining a target. The result showed that the inclusive talent development model includes the diversified talent team construction, rational tolerance of employee's opinions and failures, emphasis on employee's training, emphasis on fairness and win-win and emphasis on employee's advantages. The work passion has been divided into harmonious passion and obsessive passion. Among them, rational tolerance of employee's opinions and failures, emphasis on employee's training and emphasis on fairness and win-win have a significant positive impact on harmonious passion. Emphasis on fairness and win-win and emphasis on employee's advantages have negative correlation with obsessive passion. The employee's harmonious passion is significantly negatively correlated with the turnover intention and the obsessive passion is significantly positively correlated with the turnover intention. In addition, the harmonious passion plays a mediating role between rational tolerance of employee's opinions and failures, emphasis on employee's training, emphasis on fairness and win-win and employee's turnover intention, while the obsessive passion plays a mediating role between emphasis on fairness and win-win and emphasis on employee's advantages and employee's turnover intention.
