This study aimed to identify recurrence-associated molecules in GBM. The gene expression profile GSE139533, containing 70 primary and 47 recurrent GBM tissues and their corresponding clinical traits, was downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database and used for weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) and differentially expressed gene (DEG) analysis. After identifying the hub genes which differentially expressed in recurrent GBM tissues and in the gene modules correlated with recurrence, data from the Chinese Glioma Genome Atlas (CCGA) and The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) databases were analyzed with GSE43378 to determine the relationship between hub genes and patient prognosis. The diagnostic value of the identified hub genes was verified using 52 GBM tissues. Three gene modules were correlated with recurrence and 2623 genes were clustered in these clinically significant modules. Among these, 13 genes - EHF, TRPM1, FXYD4, CDH15, LHX5, TP73, FBN3, TLX1, C1QL4, COL2A, SEC61G, NEUROD4 and GPR139 - were differentially expressed in recurrent GBM samples; low LHX5 and TLX1 expression predicted poor outcomes. LHX5 and TLX1 expression showed weak positive relationships with Karnofsky performance scale scores. Additionally, LHX5 and TLX1 expression was found to be decreased in our recurrent GBM samples compared with that in primary samples; these genes exhibited high diagnostic value in distinguishing recurrent samples from primary samples.   • Monitoring climate change, and its impacts on ecological, agricultural, and other societal systems, is often based on temperature data derived from official weather stations. Yet, these data do not capture most microclimates, influenced by soil, vegetation and topography, operating at spatial scales relevant to the majority of organisms on Earth. Detecting and attributing climate change impacts with confidence and certainty will only be possible by a better quantification of temperature changes in forests, croplands, mountains, shrublands, and other remote habitats. There is an urgent need for a novel, miniature and simple device filling the gap between low-cost devices with manual data download (no instantaneous data) and high-end, expensive weather stations with real-time data access. Here, we develop an integrative real-time monitoring system for microclimate measurements MIRRA (Microclimate Instrument for Real-time Remote Applications) to tackle this problem. The goal of this platform is the design of a mperformance of this system to a reference system in real-world conditions in the field, indicating excellent correlation with data collected by established data loggers. This proof-of-concept forms an important foundation to creating the next version of MIRRA, fit for large scale deployment and possible commercialisation. In conclusion, we developed a novel wireless cost-effective sensor system for microclimates.In this work, we report a new approach for detecting SARS-CoV-2 RBD protein (RBD) using the surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) technique. The optical enhancement was obtained thanks to the preparation of nanostructured Ag/Au substrates. Fabricated Au/Ag nanostructures were used in the SERS experiment for RBD protein detection. SERS substrates show higher capabilities and sensitivity to detect RBD protein in a short time (3 s) and with very low power. We were able to push the detection limit of proteins to a single protein detection level of 1 pM. The latter is equivalent to 1 fM as a detection limit of viruses. Additionally, we have shown that the SERS technique was useful to figure out the presence of RBD protein on antibody functionalized substrates. In this case, the SERS detection was based on protein-antibody recognition, which led to shifts in the Raman peaks and allowed signal discrimination between RBD and other targets such as Bovine serum albumin (BSA) protein. A perfect agreement between a 3D simulated model based on finite element method and experiment was reported confirming the SERS frequency shift potential for trace proteins detection. Our results could open the way to develop a new prototype based on SERS sensitivity and selectivity for rapid detection at a very low concentration of virus and even at a single protein level.Traditional visual simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) systems rely on point features to estimate camera trajectories. However, feature-based systems are usually not robust in complex environments such as weak textures or obvious brightness changes. To solve this problem, we used more environmental structure information by introducing line segments features and designed a monocular visual SLAM system. This system combines points and line segments to effectively make up for the shortcomings of traditional positioning based only on point features. First, ORB algorithm based on local adaptive threshold was proposed. Subsequently, we not only optimized the extracted line features, but also added a screening step before the traditional descriptor matching to combine the point features matching results with the line features matching. Finally, the weighting idea was introduced. When constructing the optimized cost function, we allocated weights reasonably according to the richness and dispersion of features. Our evaluation on publicly available datasets demonstrated that the improved point-line feature method is competitive with the state-of-the-art methods. In addition, the trajectory graph significantly reduced drift and loss, which proves that our system increases the robustness of SLAM.An improved DETR (detection with transformers) object detection framework is proposed to realize accurate detection and recognition of characters on shipping containers. ResneSt is used as a backbone network with split attention to extract features of different dimensions by multi-channel weight convolution operation, thus increasing the overall feature acquisition ability of the backbone. In addition, multi-scale location encoding is introduced on the basis of the original sinusoidal position encoding model, improving the sensitivity of input position information for the transformer structure. Compared with the original DETR framework, our model has higher confidence regarding accurate detection, with detection accuracy being improved by 2.6%. In a test of character detection and recognition with a self-built dataset, the overall accuracy can reach 98.6%, which meets the requirements of logistics information identification acquisition.This paper presents the ARAMIS 3D system and examples of deformation susceptibility test results made on mixtures of coal mining waste and recycled tire rubber bound with the use of hydraulic binders. This study develops a reliable and highly accurate novel model that can predict rail temperature using a machine learning method. To predict rail temperature over the entire network with high-prediction performance, the weather effect and solar effect features are used. These features originate from the analysis of the thermal environment around the rail. Precisely, the presented model has a higher performance for predicting high rail temperature than other models. As a convenient structural health-monitoring application, the train-speed-limit alarm-map (TSLAM) was also proposed, which visually maps the predicted rail-temperature deviations over the entire network for railway safety officers.

  • Through vernalization, plants achieve flowering competence by sensing prolonged cold exposure (constant exposure approximately 2-5 °C). During this process, plants initiate defense responses to endure cold conditions. Here, we conducted transcriptome analysis of Arabidopsis plants subjected to prolonged cold exposure (6 weeks) to explore the physiological dynamics of vernalization and uncover the relationship between vernalization and cold stress.

    Time-lag initiation of the two pathways and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) revealed that vernalization is independent of cold acclimation. Moreover, WGCNA revealed three major networks involving ethylene and jasmonic acid response, cold acclimation, and chromatin modification in response to prolonged cold exposure. Finally, throughout vernalization, the cold stress response is regulated via an alternative splicing-mediated mechanism.

    These findings illustrate a comprehensive picture of cold stress- and vernalization-mediated global changes in Arabidopsis.

    Patient-Reported Outcomes (PROs) are standardized questionnaires used to measure subjective outcomes such as quality of life in healthcare. They are considered paramount to assess the results of therapeutic interventions. However, because their calibration is relative to internal standards in people's mind, changes in PRO scores are difficult to interpret. Knowing the smallest value in the score that the patient perceives as change can help. An estimator linking the answers to a Patient Global Rating of Change (PGRC a question measuring the overall feeling of change) with change in PRO scores is frequently used to obtain this value. In the last 30years, a plethora of methods have been used to obtain these estimates, but there is no consensus on the appropriate method and no formal definition of this value.

    We propose a model to explain changes in PRO scores and PGRC answers.

    A PGRC measures a construct called the Perceived Change (PC), whose determinants are elicited. Answering a PGRC requires discretizing a continuous PC into a category using threshold values that are random variables. Therefore, the populational value of the Minimal Perceived Change (MPC) is the location parameter value of the threshold on the PC continuum defining the switch from the absence of change to change.

    The aim of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of the Partners for Change Outcome Management System (PCOMS) in improving the retention rate and reducing drug use in a clinic for drug use treatment.

    One-hundred outpatients with cannabis use as the primary presenting problem were randomized to either the PCOMS (

    51) or treatment as usual (TAU;

    49). Eight weekly psychotherapy sessions were planned in both conditions. The primary outcome was treatment retention measured as the rate of attendance to planned treatment sessions and dropout. The secondary outcomes were current cannabis and other drug use assessed with the European Addiction Severity Index (EuropASI). Several explorative outcomes were analyzed. Blind assessments of drug use were conducted three and six months after baseline. Outcome analyses were conducted on both the treated sample with at least one psychotherapy session (

    82) and the intention-to-treat sample (

    The results showed no incremental effect of the PCOMS compared to the TAU condition, for neither treatment retention, drug use, or therapeutic alliance.

Here, we conducted transcriptome analysis of Arabidopsis plants subjected to prolonged cold exposure (6 weeks) to explore the physiological dynamics of vernalization and uncover the relationship between vernalization and cold stress. Time-lag initiation of the two pathways and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) revealed that vernalization is independent of cold acclimation. Patient-Reported Outcomes (PROs) are standardized questionnaires used to measure subjective outcomes such as quality of life in healthcare. They are considered paramount to assess the results of therapeutic interventions. However, because their calibration is relative to internal standards in people's mind, changes in PRO scores are difficult to interpret. Knowing the smallest value in the score that the patient perceives as change can help. An estimator linking the answers to a Patient Global Rating of Change (PGRC a question measuring the overall feeling of change) with change in PRO scores is frequently used to obtain this value. In the last 30years, a plethora of methods have been used to obtain these estimates, but there is no consensus on the appropriate method and no formal definition of this value. We propose a model to explain changes in PRO scores and PGRC answers. A PGRC measures a construct called the Perceived Change (PC), whose determinants are elicited. Answering a PGRC requires discretizing a continuous PC into a category using threshold values that are random variables. The aim of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of the Partners for Change Outcome Management System (PCOMS) in improving the retention rate and reducing drug use in a clinic for drug use treatment. One-hundred outpatients with cannabis use as the primary presenting problem were randomized to either the PCOMS ( = 51) or treatment as usual (TAU; = 49). Eight weekly psychotherapy sessions were planned in both conditions. The primary outcome was treatment retention measured as the rate of attendance to planned treatment sessions and dropout. The secondary outcomes were current cannabis and other drug use assessed with the European Addiction Severity Index (EuropASI). Several explorative outcomes were analyzed. Blind assessments of drug use were conducted three and six months after baseline. Outcome analyses were conducted on both the treated sample with at least one psychotherapy session ( = 82) and the intention-to-treat sample ( = 100). The results showed no incremental effect of the PCOMS compared to the TAU condition, for neither treatment retention, drug use, or therapeutic alliance.     We searched the Web of Science, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Medline, and Embase databases for all interrelated published studies from inception to August 2020. Meta-disc and STATA were used for the data analyses. We measured the diagnostic value by assessing the pooled diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio (PLR), negative likelihood ratio (NLR), diagnostic odds ratio (DOR), and area under the summary receiver operating characteristic curve (sROC AUC). Sources of heterogeneity were also analyzed.

    Nine studies involving 785 eyes were included in the meta-analysis. The pooled sensitivity was 0.83 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.75-0.88), specificity was 0.89 (95% CI, 0.79-0.94), PLR was 7.4 (95% CI, 3.8-14.6), NLR was 0.20 (95% CI, 0.13-0.29), and DOR was 38 (95% CI, 16-91). The sROC AUC was 0.91 (95% CI, 0.89-0.94). With respect to heterogeneity, the sensitivity of the fluorescein angiography (FA) reference standard group (0.71 [0.64-0.78]) and developed country group (0.77 [0.70-0.84]) was both lower than the sensitivity of the FA combined with optical coherence tomography (OCT) reference standard group (0.89 [0.84-0.93], P < 0.001) and developing country group (0.90 [0.85-0.95], P < 0.001).

    In this study, we investigated the association between the early response of serum and hematological variables and the outcome of cabazitaxel therapy.

    The medical records of 59 consecutive patients who had previously received docetaxel chemotherapy for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) and who received cabazitaxel at our hospital between January 2011 and March 2020 were retrospectively reviewed and statistically analyzed.

    The median follow-up period after cabazitaxel initiation was 15.2months. The 30% prostate-specific antigen (PSA) response rate, median PSA progression-free survival period, and overall survival (OS) period were 45.8%, 4.3months, and 22.6months, respectively. Within 1 to 2 cycles of cabazitaxel, we were unable to identify hematological or serum kinetics that had a relationship with OS. Analysis of the variables after 3 cycles of cabazitaxel, however, revealed two factors, PSA decline > 30% (p = 0.016) and neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) decline > 30% (p = 0.044), as the predictors of favorable outcome for OS. We established a prognostic model for predicting the OS period composed of these two factors, which exhibited distinctly separated OS curves (p = 0.004). The C-index of a model incorporating these two factors was 0.703.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed an expansile lesion involving the anterior calcaneus, which was hypointense on T1 and heterogeneously hyperintense on T2-weighted sequences, infiltrating the adjacent bones and soft tissues. On imaging, the differential diagnoses considered were a giant cell tumor and other primary bone tumors.Histopathological examination revealed a tumor composed of small round cells, with interspersed keratin pearls. Immunohistochemically, the tumor cells were positive for CD99/****, pan-cytokeratin (AE1/AE3), p40, p63, NKX2.2, and synaptophysin. Diagnosis of adamantinoma-like Ewing sarcoma was offered on the initial biopsy. Furthermore, the tumor cells revealed EWSR1 gene rearrangement by fluorescence in situ hybridization, confirming this diagnosis. However, given that spontaneous repigmentation can be gained in vitiligo, many patients ask for treatment due to these cosmetic concerns. In the literature, only a few studies have been documented focusing on the outcome of various treatment modalities for vitiligo. OBJECTIVE This article highlights the retrospective response of various treatment modalities in Indian patients with vitiligo. METHODS A retrospective chart review was performed from July 2017 to August 2018 at our private dermatology clinic. A total of 3,000 patients were enrolled in this observational study. Patient characteristics and details of phototherapy (psoralen and ultraviolet A, narrow-band ultraviolet B, excimer laser) were noted as per a predefined format. The clinical response was evaluated as a marked response, defined as repigmentation in more than 75% of the initial lesional area. RESULTS Of those included in this retrospective analysis, 1,996 patients received phototherapy and 1,004 patients were treated with topical monotherapy. Patients treated with phototherapy only and those treated with a combination of phototherapy and topical agents showed significantly higher clinical response rates relative to patients treated with topical monotherapy only (marked response rate 47.8% vs. 8.7%; P less then 0.001 and 23.4% vs. 8.7%; P less then 0.001). Disease subtype predominately affected the treatment response. CONCLUSION In Indian patients with vitiligo, phototherapy appears to be an effective treatment option for both focal and vitiligo vulgaris. METHODS This study included two groups; a case group consisting of 44 patients older than 30 years who were admitted to the cardiology department with degenerative heart disease and 44 age- and sex-matched healthy individuals to act as a control group. The skin aging score was calculated for all subjects. RESULTS Regarding intrinsic skin aging parameters, there were highly significant differences between the two groups in uneven pigmentation, reduced fat tissue, benign skin tumors, fine wrinkles, and lax skin appearance. Concerning extrinsic skin aging parameters, there were significant differences between the two groups regarding pigment changes, changes in skin phenotype, yellowness, pseudoscars, cutis rhomboidalis nuchae, telangectasia, coarse wrinkles, and dryness. CONCLUSION Our study suggests that any individual with intrinsic skin aging score greater than eight points or total score of more than 15 points is at high risk for degenerative cardiovascular disease and should undergo periodic follow-up.BACKGROUND Bitemporal hair loss can be a diagnostic challenge because several entities may affect this region of the scalp, including both scarring and nonscarring conditions. OBJECTIVE We sought to review nonscarring and scarring conditions that have a clinical presentation of bitemporal hair loss, including traction alopecia, telogen effluvium, female pattern hair loss, frontal fibrosing alopecia, central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia, and seborrheic dermatitis. METHODS A Google Scholar and PubMed literature search were conducted for this review. The keywords used in the search included the following "traction alopecia", "telogen effluvium", "androgenic alopecia", "androgenetic alopecia", "female pattern hair loss", "alopecia areata", "frontal fibrosing alopecia", "central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia", and "seborrheic dermatitis". The scope of our search included all research articles published from 1957 to February 2019. In total, 94 articles regarding non-scarring and scarring hair loss were selected and included according to topic relevance. Exclusion criteria included articles that did not address the epidemiology and/or clinicopathologic or dermatoscopic findings of non-scarring and scarring forms of alopecia. Inclusion criteria included articles that addressed a clinical presentation of bitemporal hair loss; or addressed epidemiology, clinical presentation, dermatoscopic findings, and/or treatment. RESULTS Bitemporal hair loss is a common and often distressing condition with a broad differential. CONCLUSION Clinicians must be aware of the potential causes of bitemporal hair loss. Prompt diagnosis is essential to prevent further hair loss, especially in scarring conditions.

Patient characteristics and details of phototherapy (psoralen and ultraviolet A, narrow-band ultraviolet B, excimer laser) were noted as per a predefined format. The clinical response was evaluated as a marked response, defined as repigmentation in more than 75% of the initial lesional area. RESULTS Of those included in this retrospective analysis, 1,996 patients received phototherapy and 1,004 patients were treated with topical monotherapy. Patients treated with phototherapy only and those treated with a combination of phototherapy and topical agents showed significantly higher clinical response rates relative to patients treated with topical monotherapy only (marked response rate 47.8% vs. 8.7%; P less then 0.001 and 23.4% vs. 8.7%; P less then 0.001). Disease subtype predominately affected the treatment response. CONCLUSION In Indian patients with vitiligo, phototherapy appears to be an effective treatment option for both focal and vitiligo vulgaris. METHODS This study included two groups; a case group consisting of 44 patients older than 30 years who were admitted to the cardiology department with degenerative heart disease and 44 age- and sex-matched healthy individuals to act as a control group. The skin aging score was calculated for all subjects. RESULTS Regarding intrinsic skin aging parameters, there were highly significant differences between the two groups in uneven pigmentation, reduced fat tissue, benign skin tumors, fine wrinkles, and lax skin appearance. Concerning extrinsic skin aging parameters, there were significant differences between the two groups regarding pigment changes, changes in skin phenotype, yellowness, pseudoscars, cutis rhomboidalis nuchae, telangectasia, coarse wrinkles, and dryness. OBJECTIVE We sought to review nonscarring and scarring conditions that have a clinical presentation of bitemporal hair loss, including traction alopecia, telogen effluvium, female pattern hair loss, frontal fibrosing alopecia, central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia, and seborrheic dermatitis. METHODS A Google Scholar and PubMed literature search were conducted for this review. The keywords used in the search included the following "traction alopecia", "telogen effluvium", "androgenic alopecia", "androgenetic alopecia", "female pattern hair loss", "alopecia areata", "frontal fibrosing alopecia", "central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia", and "seborrheic dermatitis". The scope of our search included all research articles published from 1957 to February 2019. In total, 94 articles regarding non-scarring and scarring hair loss were selected and included according to topic relevance. Exclusion criteria included articles that did not address the epidemiology and/or clinicopathologic or dermatoscopic findings of non-scarring and scarring forms of alopecia. Inclusion criteria included articles that addressed a clinical presentation of bitemporal hair loss; or addressed epidemiology, clinical presentation, dermatoscopic findings, and/or treatment. RESULTS Bitemporal hair loss is a common and often distressing condition with a broad differential. CONCLUSION Clinicians must be aware of the potential causes of bitemporal hair loss. Prompt diagnosis is essential to prevent further hair loss, especially in scarring conditions.

  • This study compared and evaluated the clinical and radiographic efficacy of non-instrumentation triple antibiotic paste pulp therapy and Vitapex pulpectomy in non-vital primary molars.

    Healthy, 5-9 years old children with at least one non-vital primary molar were included in the study. Molars were divided into two groups based on the subject's cooperation level. In the first group, molars received triple antibiotic paste, and a second group received Vitapex pulpectomy followed by a stainless-steel crown. Triple antibiotic paste was freshly prepared and proportioned in equal parts by volume (metronidazole, minocycline, and ciprofloxacin=111) before the scheduled treatment. A clinical and radiographic examination was performed by two trained and calibrated pediatric dentists at the pre-operative baseline and the 6- and 12-month follow-up visits.

    A total of 28 molars received triple antibiotic paste pulp therapy and 20 received Vitapex pulpectomy. At the 6-month follow-up, the success rate among the molars in the triple antibiotic paste group was clinically (92.85%) and radiographically (85.71%) higher compared to the Vitapex group (91.67%, 62.50% respectively) with p= 0.89 and 0.55 respectively. At the 12-month follow-up, the molars in the triple antibiotic paste group showed lower clinical (95.45%) but higher radiographic success rate (72.73%) compared to the Vitapex group (100% and 62.50%) with (p= 0.85 and 0.47) respectively. None of the differences were statistically significant.

    This study analyzes the pattern of use of single agent anticancer therapy (SAACT) in the treatment and survival of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (aHCC) before and after sorafenib was FDA approved in 2007.

    Adult patients diagnosed with HCC and treated with only ACT from 2004 - 2014 were identified in NCDB database. Patients were analyzed during three time frames 2004-2006 (pre-sorafenib (PS)), 2007-2010 (early sorafenib (ES)) and 2011-2014 (late sorafenib (LS)). Cox proportional hazards models and Kaplan-Meier method were used for analyses.

    The NCDB contained 31,107 patients with HCC diagnosed from 2004-2014 and treated with ACT alone. Patients were generally men (78.0%), >50years of age (92.5%). A significant increase in the rate of adaption of SAACT was observed over time 6.2% PS, 15.2% ES, and 22.2% LS (p<0.0001). During this later period, the highest proportion of SAACT is among academic and integrated network facilities (23.3%) as compared to community facilities (17.0%, p<0.0001). The median overall survival of patients with aHCC treated only with SAACT improved significantly over time from 8.0months (m) (95% CI 7.4-8.8) to 10.7m (10.4-11.2) to 15.6m (15.2-16.0, p<0.001). Multivariate analysis indicates worse outcomes for patients treated at community cancer programs (HR 1.28, (5% CI 1.23-1.32), patients without insurance (HR 1.11, 1.06-1.16) and estimated household income of <$63,000 (HR 1.09, 1.05-1.13).

    Ear symptoms coincident with TMD symptoms have been noticed for a long time. The aim was to investigate the relationship between reported ear symptoms in TMD patients and different TMD symptoms, dental occlusion, oral parafunction and habits.

    Consecutive patients, ≥18 years of age and referred to a specialist clinic for orofacial pain and dysfunction during a three-month period, were considered for the study. Patients with poor general or psychiatric health were excluded. One hundred thirty-two patients were included and studied with regard to reported ear symptoms in relation to clinical dysfunction, occlusion, habits and subjective rating of their symptoms. A clinical examination was performed according to RDC/TMD and extended with occlusal factors, parafunctions and habits.

    Ear symptoms were reported by 72% of the TMD patients, with ear fullness in 49% as the most frequent symptom. The patients with ear symptoms were significantly older and proportionally more often females. Ear symptoms were significantly correlated to the subjective index, to myalgia (p=0.003), decreased opening capacity (p=0.01), TMJ pain (p=0.02), parafunctions (p=0.007), and some occlusal factor (p=0.018-0.003). Muscle pain on palpation was significantly associated with ear fullness, and changed hearing and sensitivity to sound, on the same side (p < 0.005).

    Patients with hepatic venous pressure gradient (HVPG) more than 12mm Hg after index variceal bleed were given non-selective beta-blockers in combination with variceal band ligation. HVPG response was assessed after 4 weeks. Patients were followed up for rebleed events, survival, additional decompensation events and safety outcomes. Rebleed and other decompensations were compared using competing risks analysis, taking death as competing event, and survival was compared using Kaplan-Meier analysis.

    Forty-eight patients (29 responders and 19 non-responders) were followed up for a median duration of 45 (24-56) months. Rebleeding rates at 1, 3 and 5 years were 10.3%, 20.7% and 20.7% in responders and 15.8%, 44.7% and 51.1% in non-responders, respectively (Gray's test,
    =0.044). Survival rates at 1, 3 and 5 years were 89.7%, 72.1% and 51.9% in responders and 89.5%, 44% and 37.7% in non-responders, respectively (log-rank test,

    Long-term survival of liver transplant recipients is endangered by tumorigenesis at different sites. Little is known about primary de novo tumors developing in the graft.

    We analyzed the follow-up data of 2731 liver recipients that were transplanted between 1988 and 2019at our institution (Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Department of Surgery). All cases with new intrahepatic tumors during follow-up were identified.

    A total of nine patients were diagnosed at a median of 16 years (range, 2-24 years) after surgery. Eight patients presented with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and one patient presented with epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE). All eight HCC patients had a recurrence of the initial disease that had caused liver failure before transplantation. This was associated with viral reinfection with either HCV or HBV in seven cases. Of the nine patients, three underwent surgical resection and only one patient was alive at data abstraction.

All eight HCC patients had a recurrence of the initial disease that had caused liver failure before transplantation. This was associated with viral reinfection with either HCV or HBV in seven cases. Therefore, this study examined the extent of good menstrual hygiene practices and associated factors among high school girls in Dessie City, Amhara Region, northeastern Ethiopia.

    A school-based cross-sectional study was employed to examine 546 randomly selected high school students in Dessie City, northeastern Ethiopia. Pretested interviewer-administered questionnaires and a school observational checklist were used for data collection.     To examine the prevalence of RFs and their temporal trends among patients without a history of myocardial infarction or revascularization who underwent their first percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

Importantly, the inhibitory effects of NhPV and Suramin were confirmed by the wild type SARS-CoV-2 (hCoV-19/Canada/ON-VIDO-01/2020) virus infection in Vero cells. Furthermore, our results also demonstrated that the combination of NhPV/Suramin with an anti-SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing antibody mediated a more potent blocking effect against SCoV2-SP-PVs.     Pharmacovigilance data from the Uppsala Monitoring Centre were used to calculate substance-specific reporting odds ratios (RORs) for all types of bleeding and gastrointestinal bleeding. Reporting odds ratios were calculated with and without antithrombotic comedication.

    Regarding any type of bleeding, no signals were found in association with antidepressant drugs. Concerning upper gastrointestinal bleeding, signals were found related to citalopram (ROR 1.56 [95% confidence interval 1.11-2.20]) and escitalopram (ROR 1.52 [95% confidence interval 1.03-2.25]). After removal of reports related to antithrombotics, these signals could no longer be detected, but a new signal related to St. John's Wort associated with haemorrhages was found (ROR 1.50 [95% confidence interval 1.21-1.86]).

    Antithrombotics seem unlikely to have a major impact on the detection of the bleeding risk of antidepressant drugs. Muscle responses were measured from six upper-limb muscles simultaneously. First, post-activation depression was confirmed with tSCS paired pulses (50 ms interval) for each cathode configuration (C6, C7, and T1 vertebral levels), with anode on the anterior neck. Selectivity and excitability of activation of the upper-limb motor pools were examined by comparing the recruitment curves (10-100 mA) of first evoked responses across muscles and cathode configurations. Our results showed that hand muscles were preferentially activated when the cathode was placed over T1 compared to the other vertebral levels, while there was no selectivity for proximal arm muscles. Furthermore, higher stimulation intensities were required to activate distal hand muscles than proximal arm muscles, suggesting different excitability thresholds between muscles. She was lost to follow up for several years and returned with a **** enlarged lesion. Biochemical work up showed mildly increased catecholamines and metanephrines suggestive of pheochromocytoma. She didn't have any signs or symptoms of pheochromocytoma. She was treated with alpha blockers before surgery as a prophylactic measure. Surgical pathology was consistent with the diagnosis of primary adrenal adenocarcinoma. We recommend that adrenal incidentalomas should be followed annually for up to five years as per American association of Endocrinology and the Endocrine Society guidelines to prevent morbidity and mortality in patients.A Caucasian man in early 80s was seen in Gastroenterology Clinic, following, referral from the Endocrinology Clinic for concerns for CT Abdomen requested for tiredness and weight loss of three kilograms. Besides, 12% of the population Worldwide are either suffering or are at risk of developing diabetes, but no previous meta-analysis has assessed this important issue. Thus, the study aimed to investigate the effects of date's fruit on glycemia among patients with diabetes.

    A systematic literature search was conducted in PubMed, Medline, EBSCO, Cochrane, and Google Scholar databases for trials published in English from the first published article up to December 2020. The following keywords were used

    Medical Professionalism (MP) establishes the trust between society and doctors. We aimed at finding frequently highlighted qualities of MP in the literature.

    We searched PubMed and Scopus for attributes of MP, using terms, "Professionalism," "Medical Students," and "Undergraduate Medical Education". We included English language, original research articles with MP attributes from the perspective of undergraduate medical education, any nationality, race, gender, and age range, as the central topic of the article. Papers published from January 1
    1986 to 29
    February 2020 were included.

    From 1349 identified articles, finally, 18 were included, authored in 10 countries, collectively contributing to answering the scoping review question. Two themes were identified
