Dose-response analysis on Cys mutants led to **** higher IC50 values for the mutants C136S or C155S. The reliability of iodine concentration was assessed by calculating the intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) and the coefficient of variation (CV). The research goal was to describe local health department community health improvement plans and hospital implementation strategies, assessing the extent to which they address the social determinants of health. In 2014, we used a grounded theory approach to conceptualize the extent of social determinant efforts in a purposive sample of improvement plans and implementation strategies (N = 12) taken from the community health assessment database pilot project (N = 502). We developed the Community Health Improvement Matrix (CHIM), categorizing public health activities according to target and prevention levels. In 2016, we surveyed NACCHO's Performance Improvement Workgroup (N = 9) using CHIM categories. In 2017, we tested the interrater reliability of the CHIM through an analysis of stories in 30 states (N = 101). We shared the CHIM in conferences, trainings, and focused conversations. The CHIM provides a framework for local public health partners to work together to address social determinants.
Although laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) has been applied to patients with a history of abdominal surgery, we lack data on the surgical outcome of LC in patients with a history of gastrectomy. Here, we assessed the outcomes of LC and investigated predictive factors for conversion from laparoscopic to open surgery in patients with a gastrectomy history.
We retrospectively compared the surgical outcomes of LC between patients with and without a history of gastrectomy. We performed multivariate regressions to identify independent predictive factors for open conversion during an LC.
Among 2235 patients who underwent LCs, 39 (1.7%) had undergone a previous gastrectomy (29 men, 10 women; mean age, 72 y; 34 with distal gastrectomy and 5 with total gastrectomy). The operation time, intraoperative bleeding, postoperative hospital stays, and conversion rate were significantly worse in patients with, compared with those without the history of gastrectomy. Conversion during an LC in the cases with a history of gastrectomy was significantly correlated with age and the type of gastrectomy.
These results suggested that LC in patients with a history of gastrectomy exhibited worse outcomes in terms of operation time, intraoperative bleeding, postoperative hospital stay, and conversion rate than those without it. Furthermore, it was also implied that age and the type of gastrectomy were significant predictive factors for conversion during an LC in patients with a history of gastrectomy.

Megaesophagus secondary to achalasia cardia is conventionally treated with esophagectomy. With the advent of minimal invasive surgery, laparoscopic Heller's cardiomyotomy (LHCM) has been used in the management of megaesophagus. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/biib129.html The authors hereby report our long-term results of 19 patients of megaesophagus managed with LHCM.
Prospectively collected data of 19 patients with megaesophagus were reviewed for symptomatic outcome using defined symptom scores and achalasia disease-specific quality of life (A-DsQol) after LHCM with an antireflux procedure. Follow-up was done with clinical visits and telephonic calls.
The mean age of the patients was 39.8 years with 7 female and 12 male individuals. The mean duration of symptoms was 105 months. Dysphagia was the predominant symptom followed by regurgitation and heartburn. A-DsQOL was poor with a mean of 58.6±8.11. Nine patients had extra respiratory symptoms. All patients underwent LHCM with an antireflux procedure with no conversion, intraoperative perforation, or mortality. At a median follow-up of 66 months (interquartile range, 24.5 to 80), there was a significant improvement of dysphagia, regurgitation, heartburn, and Eckardt scores from 2.26±1.14, 2.05±0.62, 1.0±0.67, and 7.21±2.22 to 0.21±0.53, 0.15±0.37, 0.42±0.61, and 0.57±2.06, respectively (P<0.001). One patient (5.2%) had a recurrence of dysphagia. Sixty-three percent of patients graded their satisfaction level as fully satisfied and 31% as better. A-DsQOL of life improved significantly (P<0.001) after surgery. The respiratory symptoms improved in all.
LHCM provides durable relief of symptoms in patients with megaesophagus and may be considered as the first-line treatment option in such patients.

Per oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) is a promising minimally invasive therapy in the treatment of achalasia and other esophageal motility disorders. A concern surrounding POEM is the development of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) postoperatively. This study was designed to report outcomes and identify risk factors for the development of postoperative GERD.
Patients who underwent POEM between January 1, 2015 and December 12, 2019 were prospectively followed in an Institutional Review Board approved database. All patients were invited for a full comprehensive workup 6 months post-POEM including symptom scores, pH testing, manometry and esophagogastroduodenoscopy. In a retrospective review of this database, those who developed postoperative GERD were compared with those who did not.
There were 82 patients that met study criteria (median age 59). Indications for POEM include 35 type I achalasia, 16 type II achalasia, 21 type III achalasia and other spastic esophageal motility disorders, and 10 esophag other esophageal motility disorders. Patients who undergo POEM are at risk for developing gastroesophageal reflux disease especially in obese patients.
The efficacy and safety of open distal pancreatectomy (DP), laparoscopic DP, robot-assisted laparoscopic DP, and robotic DP have not been established. The authors aimed to comprehensively compare these 4 surgical methods using a network meta-analysis.
The authors systematically searched MEDLINE, Scopus, Web of Science, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and ClinicalTrials.gov for studies that evaluated at least 2 of the following pancreatectomy techniques robot-assisted DP, laparoscopic DP, open DP, and robotic DP. The surface under the cumulative ranking curve (SUCRA) was applied to show the probability that each method would be the best for each outcome.
Altogether, 46 trials with 8377 patients were included in this network meta-analysis. Foveal thickness and macular volume for the children below 6 years were significantly lower than for the older group. Significant correlation was found for contrast sensitivity, foveal thickness and macular volume with age and between contrast sensitivity and foveal thickness. Our data suggest that the developmental processes at the retina and visual cortex occur in the same age range. Thus, in parallel to maturation of the PF, which enables reduction in crowding, foveal development contributes to increasing contrast sensitivity.
In low resource settings recall of the date of the mother's last menstrual period may be unreliable and due to limited availability of prenatal ultrasound, gestational age of newborns may not be assessed reliably. Preterm babies are at high risk of morbidity and mortality so an alternative strategy is to identify them soon after birth is needed for early referral and management.
The objective of this study was to assess the accuracy in assessing prematurity of newborn, over and above birthweight, using a pictorial Simplified Gestational Age Score adapted for use as a Tablet App.
Two trained nurse midwives, blinded to each other's assessment and the actual gestational age of the baby used the app to assess gestational age at birth in 3 hospitals based on the following 4 parameters-newborn's posture, skin texture, breast and genital development. Inter-observer variation was evaluated and the optimal scoring cut-off to detect preterm birth was determined. Sensitivity and specificity of gestational age scoratio consistently varied between 0.57-0.72. Latent class models showed similar results indicating no reference standard bias.
Gestational age scores had strong inter-observer agreement, robust prediction of preterm births simplicity of use by nurse midwives and can be a useful tool in resource-limited scenarios.

Perinatally HIV-infected children on anti-retroviral treatment (ART) are reported to have metabolic abnormalities such as dyslipidemia, lipodystrophy, and insulin resistance which potentially increase the risk of diabetes, kidney, liver and cardiovascular disease.
To elucidate HIV-mediated metabolic complications that sustain even during ART in perinatally HIV-infected children.
We have carried out metabolic profiling of the plasma of treatment-naïve and ART-suppressed perinatally HIV-infected children and uninfected controls using 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy followed by statistical analysis and annotation.
Validated multivariate analysis showed clear distinction among our study groups. Our results showed elevated levels of lactate, glucose, phosphoenolpyruvic acid, propionic acid, 2-ketobutyric acid and tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle metabolites in untreated HIV-infected children compared to uninfected controls. ART normalized the levels of several metabolites, however the level of lactate, phosphoenolpyruvic acid, oxoglutaric acid, oxaloacetic acid, myoinositol and glutamine remained upregulated despite ART in HIV-infected children. Pathway analysis revealed perturbed propanoate metabolism, amino acid metabolism, glycolysis and TCA cycle in untreated and ART-suppressed HIV-infected children.
Developing therapeutic strategies targeting metabolic abnormalities may be beneficial for preventing diabetes, cardiovascular disease or other associated complications in perinatally HIV-infected children.

Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinases (MAPKs) and antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are both evolutionarily conserved components of the innate immune systems. In this study, we investigated the role of MAPKs in Aedes mosquitoes following DENV infection by using genetic and pharmacological approaches. We demonstrated that knockdown of ERK, but not of JNK or p38, significantly enhances the viral replication in Aedes mosquito cells. The Ras/ERK signaling is activated in both the cells and midguts of Aedes mosquitoes following DENV infection, and thus plays a role in restricting the viral infection, as both genetic and pharmacological activation of the Ras/ERK pathway significantly decreases the viral titers. In contrast, inhibition of the Ras/ERK pathway enhances DENV infection. In addition, we identified a signaling crosstalk between the Ras/ERK pathway and DENV-induced AMPs in which defensin C participates in restricting DENV infection in Aedes mosquitoes.
Foveal thickness and macular volume for the children below 6 years were significantly lower than for the older group. The objective of this study was to assess the accuracy in assessing prematurity of newborn, over and above birthweight, using a pictorial Simplified Gestational Age Score adapted for use as a Tablet App. Two trained nurse midwives, blinded to each other's assessment and the actual gestational age of the baby used the app to assess gestational age at birth in 3 hospitals based on the following 4 parameters-newborn's posture, skin texture, breast and genital development. Inter-observer variation was evaluated and the optimal scoring cut-off to detect preterm birth was determined. Sensitivity and specificity of gestational age scoratio consistently varied between 0.57-0.72. Latent class models showed similar results indicating no reference standard bias. Gestational age scores had strong inter-observer agreement, robust prediction of preterm births simplicity of use by nurse midwives and can be a useful tool in resource-limited scenarios. Previous studies have shown that patients with schizophrenia have higher smoking rates and worse cognitive function than healthy controls. However, there is no consistent conclusion about the relationship between smoking and cognitive impairment.
The main purpose of this study was to explore the effects of smoking on cognitive function by using MATRICS Cognitive Consensus Battery (****) in Chinese male patients with schizophrenia.
There were 164 patients with chronic schizophrenia and 82 healthy controls. All subjects were interviewed about smoking status. The cognitive function was assessed by **** and Stroop tests. The Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) was used to assess the clinical symptoms of the patients.
Compared with healthy controls, patients had lower **** scores in all of its domain scores (all p < 0.05). In the patients, the scores of spatial span test (42.3 ± 11.6), digital sequence test (42.9 ± 10.6), and Hopkins Verbal Learning Test (42.2 ± 10.1) were lower in smokers than those in nonsmokers (all p < 0.05, effect size 0.28-0.45). Logistic regression analysis showed that the smoking status of the patients was correlated with digital sequence score (p < 0.05, OR = 1.072, 95%CI 1.013-1.134). Multivariate regression analysis showed that the spatial span total score (β = - 0.26, t = - 2.74, p < 0.001) was associated with the duration of smoking in patients with schizophrenia.

Thus, we prospectively validated two new disease activity indices, Simplified AS Disease Activity Score (SASDAS) and modified Juvenile Spondyloarthritis Disease Activity Score (JSpADA). Patients with AS were assessed for BASDAI, ASDAS and other outcome measures at baseline and 3 months. Comparisons were drawn between those with juvenile onset, early disease and peripheral involvement, with the rest. Fisher's r to Z transformation was used to compare correlations. Receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to calculate cutoffs for inactive, low, high and very high disease activity. Of the 107 patients (mean age-29 years) of 6-years long disease, 38.3% had a juvenile onset. SASDAS and modified JSpADA exhibited excellent correlation with BASDAI and ASDAS (all p less then 0.001) and were higher in active vs. inactive disease. Treatment responders had a greater fall in SASDAS and modified JSpADA as compared to non-responders. The novel scores were higher in those with peripheral disease. Only SASDAS could discriminate early from late disease. Based on the previously proposed cutoffs, optimal scores for inactive, moderate, high and very high disease activity were deduced. SASDAS-CRP showed better internal consistency than SASDAS-ESR and correlated better with ASDAS-CRP in late disease (Z = 3.04; p = 002) and those with adult onset disease (Z = 2.18; p = 0.03). SASDAS and Modified JSpADA perform as well as standard complex scores and have potential for simpler daily use. From our analyses, SASDAS with CRP performs better than SASDAS-ESR, pending further validation.

Prolapse examination was performed using the Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantification (POP-Q) system, prolapse symptoms were described using the Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory short form (PFDI-20), and levator ani avulsion and hiatal area were identified by translabial 3D ultrasonography.
During the inclusion period, 455 patients were recruited and 442 (97.1%) attended the 1-year follow-up. In three cases, ultrasound data were not available, and the remaining 439 formed the study group. Although this type of chromatography is commonly used, it can be problematic as differing combinations of resins and metal chelators can result in highly variable chromatographic performance and product quality results. To generate a robust IMAC purification process, the binding differences of resin and metal chelator combinations were studied by generating breakthrough curves with a poly-histidine tagged bispecific protein. The optimal binding combination was statistically analyzed to determine the impact of chromatographic parameters on the operation. Additionally, equilibrium uptake isotherms were created to further elucidate the impact of chromatographic parameters on the binding of protein. It was found that for protein expressed in CHO cells, Millipore Sigma's Fractogel EMD Chelate (M) charged with Zn2+ and GE's pre-charged Ni Sear weights and formats expressed in either HEK-293 or CHO cells were successfully purified.To facilitate faster selectivity evaluation of wall-coated, open-tubular columns using the solvation parameter model a reduced set of calibration compounds is identified and validated for the temperature ranges 60-140 °C and 160-260 °C. The Kennard-Stone uniform mapping algorithm is used to identify the calibration compounds from a larger database of compounds with known retention properties previously adopted for column selectivity evaluation. Thirty-five compounds for each temperature range are required to minimize the standard deviation of the system constants used for selectivity evaluation and to minimize differences between system constants determined by conventional calibration and the reduced calibration compounds. The models for the reduced calibration compounds on ten siloxane-based and poly(ethylene glycol) stationary phases have a coefficient of determination of 0.984 to 0.998 and standard error of the estimate of 0.012 to 0.30. The predictive capability of models is evaluated for the reduced sets of calibration compounds using external test sets with ranking of the calibration models by changes in the average error, average absolute error and root mean square error of prediction for the test sets. However, head anthropometry studies using optical scanning rarely capture scalp shape because of hair interference. Data on scalp shape is available from bald men, but female data are generally not available. To address this issue, scalp shape was digitized in an ethnically diverse sample of 100 adult women, age 18-59, under a protocol that included whole head surface scanning and scalp measurement using a three-dimensional (3D) coordinate digitizer. A combined male and female sample was created by adding 3D surface scans of a similarly diverse sample of 80 bald men. A statistical head shape model was created by standardizing the head scan data. A total of 58 anatomical head landmarks and 12 head dimensions were obtained from each scan and processed along with the scans. To generate a robust IMAC purification process, the binding differences of resin and metal chelator combinations were studied by generating breakthrough curves with a poly-histidine tagged bispecific protein. The optimal binding combination was statistically analyzed to determine the impact of chromatographic parameters on the operation. Additionally, equilibrium uptake isotherms were created to further elucidate the impact of chromatographic parameters on the binding of protein. Thirty-five compounds for each temperature range are required to minimize the standard deviation of the system constants used for selectivity evaluation and to minimize differences between system constants determined by conventional calibration and the reduced calibration compounds. The models for the reduced calibration compounds on ten siloxane-based and poly(ethylene glycol) stationary phases have a coefficient of determination of 0.984 to 0.998 and standard error of the estimate of 0.012 to 0.30. To address this issue, scalp shape was digitized in an ethnically diverse sample of 100 adult women, age 18-59, under a protocol that included whole head surface scanning and scalp measurement using a three-dimensional (3D) coordinate digitizer. A combined male and female sample was created by adding 3D surface scans of a similarly diverse sample of 80 bald men. A statistical head shape model was created by standardizing the head scan data. A total of 58 anatomical head landmarks and 12 head dimensions were obtained from each scan and processed along with the scans. The Cas9-free tomato line was obtained when tomato plants were cultured on a non-selective medium after transformation with the CRISPR/Cas9 system. Two orthologs of PDS in N. benthamiana were mutated using a sgRNA, because these orthologs contain the same nucleotide sequences with PAM motif. These mutations were inherited to the next generation. The mutations in the PDS genes resulted in an albino phenotype in tomato and N. benthamiana plants. For the purpose of transformation, we used the somatic embryos of C. sinensis var. assamica 'Tingamira normal,' which were cultured in Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium containing 2 mg l-1 indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) and 4 mg l-1 6-benzyladenine (BA) at 25°C ±2°C under a 16-h photoperiod. With respect to the optimization of particle bombardment conditions for tea somatic embryos, we examined the effects of different Au colloid particle diameters and bombardment pressures, and accordingly established bombardment with 1.0-µm-diameter DNA-coated Au colloid at 1,100 psi as optimal conditions for introducing DNA for the transient expression of GUS. Additionally, we found that transplantation of tea somatic embryos from IBA/BA medium to a hormone-free medium prior to bombardment and incubation in the dark post-bombardment increased the frequency of secondary embryo production. Furthermore, osmotic treatment by culturing the somatic embryos in medium supplemented with 0.4 M mannitol improved transient transformation efficiency. Tillers of the spring wheat cultivar Bobwhite were stored at 5°C without water for one week before the isolation of their immature scutellar tissues, and the resulting particle-bombarded explants were cultured on 15% maltose for a month. Together, these treatments significantly increased the number of recovered transgenic lines expressing the reporter gene. The low-temperature pretreatment eliminated the negative effects of HMC, and HMC improved the efficiency of stable transgene expression. Southern blot analysis revealed that transgenic lines recovered after HMC treatment integrated a lower copy number of transgenes than those cultured at normal (4%) maltose concentration.

The pure H2 stream is hence supplied to the FC. The flue gas stream coming out from the combustion chamber is used to preheat the MR feed stream by two heat exchangers and one evaporator. Then, this theoretical work demonstrates by a 1-D model the feasibility of the MR based system in order to generate 5 kg/day of pure H2 required by the FC system for cruising a vehicle for around 500 km. The calculated CH4 and water consumptions were 50 and 70 kg, respectively, per 1 kg of pure H2. The standard transnasal EM with solid-state transducers was performed, and swallows with water and saliva were initiated in all subjects and repeated at 30-s intervals. The median upper esophageal contractile amplitude, duration, and velocity results during the wet and dry swallows were evaluated and compared in both the ALS and the control groups. In ALS patients, in contrast to the control, significant abnormalities in all EM parameters were recorded, which implies a specific pattern of esophageal peristalsis. Twelve months after BT, the body mass index (BMI) of ALS patients who underwent BT (ALSBT) was compared to the BMI of those who did not (ALS1)-compared to the ALS1 group, ALSBT patients showed a slightly smaller drop in BMI value. The aim is to understand the relationship established between the population in general and digital media in particular through the measurement of engagement. In this regard, a comparative study was carried out that describes this phenomenon over a period of six months on three social networks YouTube, Twitter and Instagram, with a sample composed of specialized health media versus healthcare professionals. The results point to a new communications model that opens up a new space for agents whose content has a degree of engagement comparable to and even exceeding that of digital media specialized in health communication.

The median upper esophageal contractile amplitude, duration, and velocity results during the wet and dry swallows were evaluated and compared in both the ALS and the control groups. In ALS patients, in contrast to the control, significant abnormalities in all EM parameters were recorded, which implies a specific pattern of esophageal peristalsis. Musculoskeletal modelling is a common means by which to non-invasively analyse movement. Such models have largely been used to observe function in both healthy and patient populations. However, utility in a clinical environment is largely unknown. The aim of this review was to explore existing uses of musculoskeletal models as a clinical intervention, or decision-making, tool.
A literature search was performed using PubMed and Scopus to find articles published since 2010 and relating to musculoskeletal modelling and joint and muscle forces.
4662 abstracts were found, of which 39 relevant articles were reviewed. Journal articles were categorised into 5 distinct groups non-surgical treatment, orthoses assessment, surgical decision making, surgical intervention assessment and rehabilitation regime assessment. All reviewed articles were authored by collaborations between clinicians and engineers/modellers. Current uses included insight into the development of osteoarthritis, identifying candidates for hamstally-friendly models which can be used with minimal input and experience by healthcare professionals to determine surgical necessity and suitability for rehabilitation regimes, and in the assessment of orthotic devices.
Treatment of tibia diaphyseal fractures with intramedullary nail fixation has proven to be effective. An increasingly popular practice is to coat the nail with bone cement incorporating antibiotics for the purpose of treating and/or preventing infection. To date, the effect of coating on the mechanical performance of the intramedullary nail once implanted is unknown. We hypothesize that cement coating does not change the cross-sectional stiffness of the nail, so that, when fixing tibia diaphyseal fracture with gapping, cement coated intramedullary nail provide stiffness comparable to that of standard conventional uncoated ones.

Studies on C. indicum have mainly focused on the flowers. Terpenoid distribution in various parts of the plant and characterization of terpene synthases remain unclear. In this study, volatile metabolic profiling was performed to compare the composition and quantity of terpenoids distributed in the root, stem, leaf, flower bud and flower of C. indicum. The potential for extracting active ingredients from the root, stem, and leaf was also examined. In total, 17 monoterpenoids and 27 sesquiterpenoids were identified. Transcriptome data were used to clone two monoterpene synthases and two sesquiterpene synthases highly expressed in the root. The recombinant proteins of full-length and truncated versions of C. indicum terpene synthase (CiTPS1) produced α-pinene, but the truncated one was catalytically more efficient than the full-length version. No product could be detected when full-length version of CiTPS2 was used for catalyzing GPP, but the truncated one can produce a minor amount of α-pinene. CiTPS3 contributed to the production of three sesquiterpenoids, namely β-farnesene, petasitene, and α-bisabolene. CiTPS4 acted as a difunctional enzyme, contributing to the production of four monoterpenoids and three sesquiterpenoids, including petasitene. The evidence suggests that petasitene and the genes responsible for its biosynthesis were first found in the genus Chrysanthemum. The present findings provide insights into the composition, formation, and regulation of these bioactive compounds.

The undergraduate program of psychiatry has been widely established in recent years to improve the education and recruitment of psychiatrists in China. We aim to investigate the career choice of medical students majoring in psychiatry in China and the influential factors.
This multicenter study was conducted in 26 medical schools in China from May to October of 2019. Participants included 4610 medical students majoring in psychiatry and 3857 medical students majoring in clinical medicine. Multivariable logistic regression was used to investigate the influential factors of students' choices of psychiatry at matriculation and as a career.
44.08% of psychiatry majored students gave psychiatry as a first choice at matriculation, and 56.67% of them would choose psychiatry as a career, which was in sharp contrast to the proportion of clinical medicine majored students who would choose psychiatry as a career (0.69%). Personal interest (59.61%), suggestions from family members (27.96%), and experiencing mental s to increase the psychiatry career intention. The extent to which medical students' attitudes toward psychiatry can be changed through medical school education and greater exposure to psychiatry will need further investigation.

Increasing students' interest in psychiatry, strengthening psychiatry clerkships, and popularizing psychiatric knowledge are modifiable factors to increase the psychiatry career intention. Poor balance has been cited as one of the key causal factors of falls. Timely detection of balance impairment can help identify the elderly prone to falls and also trigger early interventions to prevent them. The goal of this study was to develop a surrogate approach for assessing elderly's functional balance based on Short Form Berg Balance Scale (SFBBS) score.
Data were collected from a waist-mounted tri-axial accelerometer while participants performed a timed up and go test. Clinically relevant variables were extracted from the segmented accelerometer signals for fitting SFBBS predictive models. Regularized regression together with random-shuffle-split cross-validation was used to facilitate the development of the predictive models for automatic balance estimation.
Eighty-five community-dwelling older adults (72.12 ± 6.99year) participated in our study. Our results demonstrated that combined clinical and sensor-based variables, together with regularized regression and cross-validation, achieved moderle and sensitive biomarkers for long-term monitoring of functional balance.
Understanding the use of tele-intensive care unit (ICU) services is an essential component in evaluating current practice and informing future use as the adoption and application of teleICU services expands. We sought to explore if novel ways to utilize teleICU services can emerge within an established, consulting-style teleICU model considering the program's flexible, provider-driven operation.
This was a qualitative study of one teleICU/hospital dyad using semi-structured interviews from a convenience sample of ICU (n = 19) and teleICU (n = 13) nurses. Interviews were analyzed using directed content analysis to identify themes that describe their experiences with teleICU using a deductive codebook developed from an expert consensus (American Association of Critical Care Nurses) AACN statement on teleICU nursing.
Three themes were identified through the qualitative content analysis [1] nurses described unique teleICU knowledge, including systems thinking and technological skills, [2] the teleICU partnership supported quality improvement initiatives, and [3] elements of the work environment influenced perceptions of teleICU and its use. When elements of the work environment, such as effective communication and role clarity, were not present, teleICU use was variable.
Flexible, provider-driven approaches for integrating teleICU services into daily practice may help define the future use of the teleICU model's applicability. Future work should focus on the importance of effective communication and role clarity in integrating the emerging teleICU services into teleICU/ICU practice.

Three themes were identified through the qualitative content analysis [1] nurses described unique teleICU knowledge, including systems thinking and technological skills, [2] the teleICU partnership supported quality improvement initiatives, and [3] elements of the work environment influenced perceptions of teleICU and its use. When elements of the work environment, such as effective communication and role clarity, were not present, teleICU use was variable. Flexible, provider-driven approaches for integrating teleICU services into daily practice may help define the future use of the teleICU model's applicability. The role of neural invasion has been reported in cancers. Few studies also showed that neural invasion was related to survival rate in patients with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (PNET). The aim of this study is to explore the association between neural invasion and aggressive behaviors in PNET.
After excluding those patients with biopsy and with missing histological data, a total 197 patients with PNET who underwent surgery were retrospectively analyzed. The demographic data and histological data were obtained. Aggressive behavior was defined based on extra-pancreatic extension including vascular invasion, organ invasion and lymph node metastases. Logistic regression analyses were used to identify risk factor for aggressive behavior. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were performed to show the performance of nomograms in evaluating aggressive behavior of PNET.

This was further confirmed by employing RNA sequencing revealing multiple signaling pathways involved in carcinogenesis and fibrogenesis that were significantly affected in these cell lines. A significant upregulation in the expression of various integrin pathway - related genes was identified in the mesenteric mass of fibrotic SI-NET as confirmed by RT-qPCR and immunohistochemistry. Protein analysis demonstrated downstream activation of the MAPK and mTOR pathways in some patients with fibrotic SI-NETs.

The aim of this study was to determine whether the metabolic glucose profile, based on glycaemic control and insulin requirements, was different in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) compared to women with only GDM.
This retrospective cohort study comprised women with GDM and ICP matched with women with only GDM was undertaken at Aarhus University hospital, Denmark, from 2012 to 2019. A total of 46 cases and 184 controls were compared in relation to glycaemic control during pregnancy. Women with GDM and ICP were further divided into subgroups according to the severity of ICP mild ICP (fasting bile salts 10-39μmol/L) and moderate/severe ICP (bile salts ≥40μmol/L).
