Borreliosis is one of the most common vector-borne zoonotic diseases in the world. Limited data are available regarding Borrelia spp. and their genotypes in Kazakhstan. The goal of this study was to investigate the prevalence of Borrelia spp. in ixodid ticks collected in the southeastern region of Kazakhstan. A total of 1907 ixodid ticks were collected by flagging vegetation at three collection areas in the Almaty oblast between 2015 and 2018. They were grouped into 407 pools and examined by qPCR for Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato (s.l.). Borrelia afzelii was the dominant genospecies in Almaty oblast. A significantly lower proportion of B. garinii positive tick pools was detected in the Zailiyskiy Alatau as compared to the Dzungarian Alatau (χ2 = 16.243; p = 0.0001) and Yenbekshikazakh district (χ2 = 7.4156; p = 0.0065). The obtained results indicate the epidemiological significance of B. afzelii and B. garinii in southeastern Kazakhstan. These new data aim to improve the diagnostics of Lyme borreliosis and monitoring of tick-borne infections in Kazakhstan.
Most patients with congenital heart disease (CHD) need lifelong cardiac follow-up. Transitioning to adulthood and transferring to adult-focused care are often challenging. We explored the experiences and needs of adolescents with CHD and parents during the entire transitional process, including the post-transfer period.
We performed a qualitative study according to the phenomenological approach, focusing on adolescents with CHD and parents. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with patients (n = 9) and parents (n = 12) after being transferred to adult care facilities. Data were analyzed with inductive thematic analysis. Data collection and -analysis of both samples were done separately in a first step, after which results were merged to discover common themes.
Five common themes were identified 1) Having mixed feelings about leaving pediatric care; 2) Being prepared and informed; 3) Shifting responsibilities and roles; 4) Being accompanied during consultations; and 5) Gaining trust in new healthcbilities and adapting to new roles by the parents. Adolescents appreciate the presence of parents during the consultation, albeit with reduced input. Finally, a transition coordinator and a joint transfer consultation involving the pediatric cardiologist seem paramount for a fluent transitional process, especially in establishing new treatment relationships.
To assess the impact of a rooming-in program for babies at risk of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) in one community hospital centre, in Belleville, Ontario.
This retrospective chart review was conducted at Belleville General Hospital. The hospital developed a rooming-in program for newborns at risk of NAS in July 2015. Charts on all infants born to mothers using opioids in the 24 months prior to and after the implementation of our program, who met the inclusion criteria, were examined.
The study consisted of 15 babies in the Special Care Nursery (SCN) group and 19 babies in the rooming-in group. Rooming-in is associated with a reduction in the need for treatment with morphine [rooming-in group (1/19, 5.3%), SCN group (14/15, 93.3%), p < 0.01], shorter length of stay in hospital [rooming-in group (days = 5), SCN group (days = 20), p < 0.01], improved exclusive breast and/or breast milk-feeding rates [rooming-in group (17/19,89.5%), SCN group (1/15,6.7%), p < 0.01] and lower total hospital cost [rooming-in group ($6458.00), SCN group ($17,851.00), p < 0.01].
Our study demonstrates that rooming-in programs for babies born to mothers using opioids has benefits in terms of quality of care and health care resource utilization.

The goal of this study was to provide insight into the genetic determinants that condition this host range restriction. Chimeras were initially created by replacing select regions of the Zika virus genome, including the premembrane and envelope protein (prM-E) genes, with the corresponding regions of the LPKV genome. Of the four chimeras produced, one (the prM-E swap) yielded virus that replicated in mosquito cells. Another chimeric virus with a mosquito replication-competent phenotype was created by inserting the prM-E genes of Lammi virus into a Zika virus genetic background. Vertebrate cells did not support the replication of either chimeric virus although trace to modest amounts of viral antigen were produced, consistent with suboptimal viral entry. These data suggest that dual-host affiliated insect-specific flaviviruses cannot replicate in vertebrate cells due to entry and post-translational restrictions.Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is an aggressive form of cancer with a dismal prognosis. The lack of symptoms in the early phase of the disease makes early diagnosis challenging, and about 80-85% of the patients are diagnosed only after the disease is locally advanced or metastatic. The current front-line treatment landscape in local stages comprises surgical resection and adjuvant chemotherapy. In Switzerland, although both FOLFIRINOX and gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel regimens are feasible and comparable in the first-line setting, FOLFIRINOX is preferred in the treatment of fit (Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group [ECOG] performance status [PS] 0-1), young ( less then 65 years old) patients with few comorbidities and normal liver function, while gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel is used to treat less fit (ECOG PS 1-2) and more vulnerable patients. In the second-line setting of advanced PDAC, there is currently only one approved regimen, based on the phase III NAPOLI-1 trial. Furthermore, the use of liposomal-irinotecan in the second line is supported by real-world data.

This paper aimed to derive analytical solutions for the shrinkage stress and cuspal deflection in model Class-II mesial-occlusal-distal (MOD) resin-composite restorations to better understand their dependence on geometrical and material parameters. Based on the stress solutions, it was shown how design curves could be obtained to guide the selection of dimensions and materials for the preparation and restoration of this class of cavities.
The cavity wall was considered as a cantilevered beam while the resin composite was modeled as Winkler's elastic foundation with closely-spaced linear springs. Further, a mathematical model that took into account the combined effect of material properties, sample geometry and compliance of the surrounding constraint was employed to relate the shrinkage stress at the "tooth-composite" interface to the local compliance of the cavity wall. Exact analytical solutions were obtained for cuspal deflection and shrinkage stress along the cavity wall by solving the resulting diffesed by polymerization shrinkage.
The study objective was to evaluate the midterm outcomes of transventricular mitral valve repair and its association with the initial anatomy of the mitral valve.
This nonrandomized observational study included 88 patients (mean age, 60years; 69% were men) who underwent transventricular mitral valve repair for severe degenerative mitral regurgitation between 2011 and 2017. Mitral valve function was assessed by echocardiography at 1 and 6months and annually after the procedure. According to the location of mitral valve pathology, all patients were stratified into 4 anatomic types (A, B, C, and D). Results were assessed using Kaplan-Meier method, mixed-effects continuation ratio model, and multivariable Cox regression.
Median follow-up of 42months (interquartile range, 27-55) was complete for 83 patients (94.3%). There were 3 late deaths 2 cardiac and 1 noncardiac. Recurrent mitral regurgitation greater than 2+ was observed in 29 patients (33%), and 18 patients (20.5%) underwent repeat surgery. Device suc only 82% at 3 years. Higher risk of mitral regurgitation recurrence occurred with complex degenerative pathology.
Aortic valve reconstruction (AVRec) with neocuspidization or the Ozaki procedure with complete cusp replacement for aortic valve disease has excellent mid-term results in adults. Limited results of AVRec in pediatric patients have been reported. We report our early outcomes of the Ozaki procedure for congenital aortic and truncal valve disease.
A retrospective analysis was performed on all 57 patients with congenital aortic and truncal valve disease who had a 3-leaflet Ozaki procedure at a single institution from August 2015 to February 2019. Outcome measures included mortality, surgical or catheter-based reinterventions, and echocardiographic measurements.
Twenty-four patients had aortic regurgitation (AR), 6 had aortic stenosis (AS), and 27 patients had AS/AR. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/ms8709.html Two patients had quadricuspid valves, 26 had tricuspid, 20 had bicuspid, and 9 had unicusp aortic valves. Necroptosis plays an important role in cell death during pulmonary ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI). We hypothesized that therapy with necrosulfonamide (NSA), a mixed-lineage kinase domain-like protein inhibitor, would attenuate lung IRI.
Rats were assigned at random into the sham operation group (n=6), vehicle group (n=8), or NSA group (n=8). In the NSA and vehicle groups, the animals were heparinized and underwent left thoracotomy, and the left hilum was clamped for 90minutes, followed by reperfusion for 120minutes. NSA (0.5mg/body) and a solvent were administered i.p. in the NSA group and the vehicle group, respectively. The sham group underwent 210minutes of perfusion without ischemia. After reperfusion, arterial blood gas analysis, physiologic data, lung wet-to-dry weight ratio, histologic changes, and cytokine levels were assessed. Fluorescence double immunostaining was performed to evaluate necroptosis and apoptosis.

In this study, we examined the Aureobasidium pullulans strains DSM 14940 and DSM 14941 included in the Blossom Protect™ agent to be used in the bioreduction reaction of a symmetrical dicarbonyl compound. Both chiral 2-hydroxy-1,2-diphenylethanone antipodes were obtained with a high enantiomeric purity. Mild conditions (phosphate buffer [pH 7.0, 7.2], 30 °C) were successfully employed in the synthesis of (S)-benzoin using two different methodologies benzyl desymmetrization and rac-benzoin deracemization. Bioreduction carried out with higher reagent concentrations, lower pH values and prolonged reaction time, and in the presence of additives, enabled enrichment of the reaction mixture with (R)-benzoin. The described procedure is a potentially useful tool in the synthesis of chiral building blocks with a defined configuration in a simple and economical process with a lower environmental impact, enabling one-pot biotransformation.Contamination of waters with pharmaceuticals is an alarming problem as it may support the evolution of antimicrobial resistance. Therefore, fast and cost-effective analytical methods for potential on-site analysis are desired in order to control the water quality and assure the safety of its use as a source of drinking water. Antibody-based methods, such as the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), can be helpful in this regard but can also have certain pitfalls in store, depending on the analyte. As shown here for the class of β-lactam antibiotics, hydrolysis of the β-lactam ring is a key factor in the immunochemical analysis as it influences antibody recognition. With the antibody used in this study, the limit of detection (LOD) in the immunoassay could be significantly reduced by hydrolysis for the five tested penicillins, with the lowest LOD for carbenicillin (0.2 nmol/L) and the greatest impact on penicillins G and V (reduction by 85%). The Tallysman antenna was more accurate in the horizontal position determination, and the difference from the true value was only 0.1 mm; while, for the Survey antenna, the difference was 1.0 mm. For the ellipsoid height, the differences were 0.3 and 0.6 mm for the Survey and Tallysman antennas, respectively. The comparison of low-cost receivers with calibrated low-cost antennas (Survey Calibrated) and geodetic instruments proved better performance for the latter. The geodetic GNSS instruments were more accurate than the low-cost instruments, and the precision of the estimated coordinates from the geodetic network was also greater. In this study, we examined the Aureobasidium pullulans strains DSM 14940 and DSM 14941 included in the Blossom Protect™ agent to be used in the bioreduction reaction of a symmetrical dicarbonyl compound. Both chiral 2-hydroxy-1,2-diphenylethanone antipodes were obtained with a high enantiomeric purity. Mild conditions (phosphate buffer [pH 7.0, 7.2], 30 °C) were successfully employed in the synthesis of (S)-benzoin using two different methodologies benzyl desymmetrization and rac-benzoin deracemization. Bioreduction carried out with higher reagent concentrations, lower pH values and prolonged reaction time, and in the presence of additives, enabled enrichment of the reaction mixture with (R)-benzoin. The described procedure is a potentially useful tool in the synthesis of chiral building blocks with a defined configuration in a simple and economical process with a lower environmental impact, enabling one-pot biotransformation.Contamination of waters with pharmaceuticals is an alarming problem as it may support the evolution of antimicrobial resistance. A case study is conducted in Zhaoshu Island of China, demonstrating the applicability of CORE-CC model and serving as a reference for adaptive management.Carbonaceous (e.g., limestone) and aluminosilicate (e.g., calcined clay) mineral additives are routinely used to partially replace ordinary portland cement in concrete to alleviate its energy impact and carbon footprint. These mineral additives-depending on their physicochemical characteristics-alter the hydration behavior of cement; which, in turn, affects the evolution of microstructure of concrete, as well as the development of its properties (e.g., compressive strength). Numerical, reaction-kinetics models-e.g., phase boundary nucleation-and-growth models; which are based partly on theoretically-derived kinetic mechanisms, and partly on assumptions-are unable to produce a priori prediction of hydration kinetics of cement; especially in multicomponent systems, wherein chemical interactions among cement, water, and mineral additives occur concurrently. This paper introduces a machine learning-based methodology to enable prompt and high-fidelity prediction of time-dependent hydration kinetics of cement, both in plain and multicomponent (e.g., binary; and ternary) systems, using the system's physicochemical characteristics as inputs. Based on a database comprising hydration kinetics profiles of 235 unique systems-encompassing 7 synthetic cements and three mineral additives with disparate physicochemical attributes-a random forests (RF) model was rigorously trained to establish the underlying composition-reactivity correlations. This training was subsequently leveraged by the RF model to predict time-dependent hydration kinetics of cement in new, multicomponent systems; and to formulate optimal mixture designs that satisfy user-imposed kinetics criteria.Environmental conditions of the Southern Ocean around Antarctica have varied little for >5 million years but are now changing. Here, we investigated how warming affects competition for space. Little considered in the polar regions, this is a critical component of biodiversity response. Change in competition in response to environment forcing might be detectable earlier than individual species presence/absence or performance measures (e.g. growth). Examination of fauna on artificial substrata in Antarctica's shallows at ambient or warmed temperature found that, mid-century predicted 1°C warming (throughout the year or just summer-only), increased the probability of individuals encountering spatial competition, as well as density and complexity of such interactions. 2°C, late century predicted warming, increased variance in the probability and density of competition, but overall, competition did not significantly differ from ambient (control) levels. To facilitate the recovery of fisheries resources and associated benthic ecosystems, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region implemented a territory-wide trawl ban on December 31, 2012. Comparison of surveys conducted in June 2012 (before the trawl ban) and June 2015 (2.5 years after the ban) revealed higher organic contents in sediment and lower suspended-solid loads in water column, as well as a significant increase in site-based abundance, species richness, functional diversity and among-site similarity of macrobenthos after the trawl ban. A set of 38 predetermined day-level behavioral activity metrics were computed from minute-level data streams for steps, sleep and heart rate. Mixed effects regression models were used to compare activity metrics between constipation sconstipation symptoms and severity at a day-to-day granularity level. Constipation status, irregular or constipated, was associated with a number of activity metrics in steps and sleep, and likelihood to treat with medication increased with increasing severity for a number of constipation symptoms. Given the small magnitude of effect, further research is needed to understand the clinical relevance of these results. PGHD may be useful as a tool for describing real world patient centered experiences for people with constipation.During the cancerous transformation of normal hepatocytes into hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the enzyme catalyzing the first rate-limiting step of glycolysis, namely the glucokinase (GCK), is replaced by the higher affinity isoenzyme, hexokinase 2 (HK2). Here, we show that in HCC tumors the highest expression level of HK2 is inversely correlated to GCK expression, and is associated to poor prognosis for patient survival. To further explore functional consequences of the GCK-to-HK2 isoenzyme switch occurring during carcinogenesis, HK2 was knocked-out in the HCC cell line Huh7 and replaced by GCK, to generate the Huh7-GCK+/HK2- cell line. HK2 knockdown and GCK expression rewired central carbon metabolism, stimulated mitochondrial respiration and restored essential metabolic functions of normal hepatocytes such as lipogenesis, VLDL secretion, glycogen storage. It also reactivated innate immune responses and sensitivity to natural killer cells, showing that consequences of the HK switch extend beyond metabolic reprogramming.

Foot healthcare research is focusing increasingly on personalized orthotic and prosthetic devices to address patient-specific morphology and ailments. Customization requires advanced 3D image processing tools to assess foot and leg geometrical parameters and alterations. The aim of this study is to present a new software for the measurement of the foot shape from 3D scans of the foot plantar surface.
A Kinect-based scanning device was used to acquire the 3D foot shape of 44 healthy subjects. A software was developed in Matlab to measure the foot main morphological parameters from foot scans. Principal Component Analysis was used to orientate the foot scans with respect to the same reference system. Accuracy, via percentage errors and Bland-Altman plots, and correlation of the software-based foot parameters were assessed against manual measurements. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/cpd-37.html A normalized Arch Volume Index (nAVI) was proposed and correlated to the traditional Arch Index. Test-retest Intraclass Correlation Coefficient was used to asson the scanning device. Three months after the first reported cases, COVID-19 had spread to nearly 90% ofWorld Health Organization (WHO) member states and only 24 countries had not reported cases as of 30 March 2020. This analysis aimed to 1) assess characteristics, capability to detect and monitor COVID-19, and disease control measures in these 24 countries, 2) understand potential factors for the reported delayed COVID-19 introduction, and 3) identify gaps and opportunities for outbreak preparedness, particularly in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). We collected and analyzed publicly available information on country characteristics, COVID-19 testing, influenza surveillance, border measures, and preparedness activities in these countries. We also assessed the association between the temporal spread of COVID-19 in all countries with reported cases with globalization indicator and geographic location.

This paper contributes to identifying opportunities for pandemic preparedness, such as increasing disease detection, surveillance, and international collaborations. As the global situation continues to evolve, it is essential for countries to improve and prioritize their capacities to rapidly prevent, detect, and respond, not only for COVID-19, but also for future outbreaks.
Association of abdominal aortic aneurysm with congenital pelvic kidney is rare and association with isolated iliac artery aneurysm is not yet described in the literature.
We present a case of successful repair of an isolated common iliac artery aneurysm associated with a congenital pelvic kidney treated by an endovascular technique. A 75-year-old man was referred for the treatment of an asymptomatic left common iliac artery aneurysm. A computed tomography angiography revealed an isolated left common iliac artery aneurysm and a left pelvic kidney. The maximum diameter of the aneurysm was 32 mm. The congenital pelvic kidney was supplied by three small superior polar arteries that emerged from the proximal non-aneurysmal portion of the common iliac artery and the main artery that arose from the left internal iliac artery. The aneurysm exclusion was accomplished by using an iliac branch device (Gore Excluder Iliac Branch, Flagstaff, AZ). The 1 and 6 months computed tomography angiography after the procedure demonstrated complete exclusion of the aneurysm and preservation of all renal arteries.
Treating patients with an association of iliac artery aneurysms and pelvic kidneys can be a challenge due the variable arterial anatomy. The use of iliac branch device is a safe and effective alternative in selected cases.

Entamoeba species harbored by humans have different degrees of pathogenicity. The present study explores the intra- and interspecific diversity, phylogenetic relationships, prevalence and distribution of tetra- and octonucleated cyst-producing Entamoeba in different Brazilian regions.
Cross-sectional studies were performed to collect fecal samples (n = 1728) and sociodemographic data in communities located in four Brazilian biomes Atlantic Forest, Caatinga, Cerrado, and Amazon. Fecal samples were subjected to molecular analysis by partial small subunit ribosomal DNA sequencing (SSU rDNA) and phylogenetic analysis.
Light microscopy analysis revealed that tetranucleated cysts were found in all the studied biomes. The highest positivity rates were observed in the age group 6-10years (23.21%). For octonucleated cysts, positivity rates ranged from 1 to 55.1%. Sixty SSU rDNA Entamoeba sequences were obtained, and four different species were identified the octonucleated E. coli, and the tetranucleated E. histolytica, E.

We present a case of successful repair of an isolated common iliac artery aneurysm associated with a congenital pelvic kidney treated by an endovascular technique. A 75-year-old man was referred for the treatment of an asymptomatic left common iliac artery aneurysm. A computed tomography angiography revealed an isolated left common iliac artery aneurysm and a left pelvic kidney. The maximum diameter of the aneurysm was 32 mm. The congenital pelvic kidney was supplied by three small superior polar arteries that emerged from the proximal non-aneurysmal portion of the common iliac artery and the main artery that arose from the left internal iliac artery. The aneurysm exclusion was accomplished by using an iliac branch device (Gore Excluder Iliac Branch, Flagstaff, AZ). The 1 and 6 months computed tomography angiography after the procedure demonstrated complete exclusion of the aneurysm and preservation of all renal arteries. A total of 18 themes, eight theme clusters, and three categories emerged. The three categories of North Korean women's reproductive health experience were distorted sexual concepts, internalization of sexual repression, and threat of women's health rights. The study on the reproductive health experiences of North Korean women was based on the premise that their "right to health was threatened due to the internalization of sexual repression by distorted sexual concepts."

For this purpose, we select a number of medium-sized intra- and inter-molecular charge-transfer excitations, which are known to be challenging to calculate using time-dependent density-functional theory (TD-DFT) and for which accurate reference values are available. We assess whether the high accuracy shown by the newest double-hybrid models is also confirmed for those cases too. We find that asymptotically corrected double-hybrid models yield a superior performance, especially for the inter-molecular charge-transfer excitation energies, as compared to standard double-hybrid models. Overall, the PBE-QIDH and its corresponding range-separated RSX-QIDH functional are recommended for general-purpose TD-DFT applications, depending on whether long-range effects are expected to play a significant role.

The incorporation of three-dimensional printing into the domain of craniosynostosis surgery has many potential benefits. This includes streamlining surgical planning, developing patient-specific template guides, enhancing residency training, as well as aiding in patient counseling. However, the current state of the literature remains in the validation stage. Further study with larger case series, direct comparisons with control groups, and prolonged follow-up times is necessary before more widespread implementation is justified.Hydrocephalus, a complication of achondroplasia, requires treatment when it is symptomatic. Hydrocephalus associated with achondroplasia is often treated with ventriculoperitoneal shunting, and endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV) is rarely performed in these patients. Here, we report the case of an 18-month-old boy with achondroplasia and progressive hydrocephalus who underwent ETV. He had a family history of achondroplasia and was diagnosed with achondroplasia at birth. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at the age of 1 month showed no hydrocephalus. At the age of 15 months, he was admitted to our hospital due to increased head circumference. He had developmental delays, and MRI showed hydrocephalus with ballooning of the third ventricle. The ETV success score was 80 points; therefore, we performed ETV. Postoperatively, the progression of head circumference increase was controlled. The ventricular size remained unchanged on MRI at 13 months after surgery. Recently, an association between non-communicating hydrocephalus and achondroplasia has been reported. Depending on age and imaging findings, ETV may be effective in some patients with achondroplasia with hydrocephalus.

A total score was obtained from their answers. Univariate binary logistic regression analysis was used to verify if the total score was predictive of exclusive breastfeeding at discharge. A multivariable logistic regression model was then used to adjust for possible confounders. ROC analysis was performed, and a Youden's total score cut-off value was determined to define total score's performance in predicting exclusive breastfeeding at discharge. Fathers showed a solid knowledge of maternal (87%) and neonatal (98%) benefits of breastfeeding, skin-to-skin (99.5%), rooming-in (79%), and responsive feeding (67.5%); conversely, only 51% knew nd attitude toward breastfeeding. • The association between a higher questionnaire total score and exclusive breastfeeding rates at discharge highlights the importance of including fathers in the promotion of breastfeeding, as part of the breastfeeding team.When deciding on antiarrhythmic drug (***) treatment, a thorough knowledge of the physiological adaptation processes that occur during pregnancy and their effect on metabolism and the efficacy of *** is mandatory. Pulmonary function testing (PFT) in patients with tracheostomies has been perceived as difficult to perform and clinically unreliable. We studied the feasibility, quality, repeatability and clinical significance of PFT.
Patients with tracheostomies that underwent PFT from January 1, 2010 to February 29, 2012 were identified. Clinical history and PFT data were reviewed retrospectively.
Fifty patients (88% men) were identified. Forty-seven (94%) patients were able to perform PFT. Acceptable repeatability was obtained for FVC in 39 (83%) and for FEV1 in 41 (87%). Patients with tracheostomies showed difficulty in meeting ATS end-of-test criteria; only 9 (19%) met plateau criteria and 25 (53%) had exhalation times of greater than 6s. Obstructive pattern was observed in 30 (64%) and restrictive pattern in 9 (19%). DLCO measurements were attempted in 43 patients and satisfactorily obtained in 34 (79%).

DRUGTOX was a cross-sectional study of 403 adult patients followed up after kidney transplantation and who had undergone therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) of calcineurin inhibitors (tacrolimus or cyclosporin) between August 2019, and March 2020. For each patient, immunosuppressant trough concentrations (C0) were measured in whole-blood samples and then normalized against the total daily dose C0/D ratio. The sample was assayed for five uremic toxins (urea, trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO), indole acetic acid (IAA), para-cresylsulfate (PCS), and indoxylsulfate (IxS)) using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry.
The median [interquartile range] age was 56 [48-66] and the median eGFR was 41 [30-57] ml/min/1.73 m2. Age, sex, BMI, urea, IxS and PCS were significantly associated with an increment in the tacrolimus C0/D ratio. A multivariate analysis revealed an independent association with IxS (OR [95% CI] 1.36 [1.00; 1.85], after adjustment for sex, age and BMI, whereas adjustment for age weakened the association for PCS and urea. In a univariate logistic analysis, age, sex, BMI, and the TMAO level (but neither PCS, IxS, IAA nor urea) were significantly associated with an increment in the cyclosporine C0/D ratio.

The aim of this work is to identify and analyze the key positions of the ECHR in the context of respect for the right to a fair trial (Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights (hereinafter - the Convention)) of a person suffering from mental disorders in criminal proceedings concerning the application of compulsory medical measures (hereinafter referred to as CMM); formulation of scientifically substantiated proposals for determining the restriction legality criteria of the right of a person suffering from a mental disorder to personal participation in the trial.

During the preparation of this article the results of personal experience of the scientific work (17 years), the experience of advocacy (11 years), and the experience of the Supreme Court's judge have been applied.
Results The analysis of case files, thoughts of scientists and lawyers-practitioners allowed to propose criteria and indicators influencing increasing or decreasing of social dangerousness of actions committed by medical professionals. It is noted that the necessity of the legislator to consider the close interrelation of professional medical services and influence on the health of persons who demand medical services or need health care during differentiation of criminal liability.
