If you aim for professional registration as an engineer or geoscientist, then you must know about APEGS CBA. This system can play a huge role in helping you demonstrate your work experience in an effective way. Now, let’s move further and know how it can.

One of the most important things you need to know is that before you become eligible to apply for a professional licence, you need to have four years of experience as an engineering or geoscience professional. Moreover, this work experience must be assessed by the Experience Review Committee.

How APEGS CBA can help you:

APEGS utilizes an online competency-based assessment system for the evaluation of your work experience. Besides providing validated examples to demonstrate each of the competencies, you need to have a minimum of four years of experience validated in this system.

How to report in the CBA system?

Reach https://competencyassessment.ca

Pick the ‘Applications’ section.

Stick to the instruction appearing on the screen.

Create an account with your APEGS Application/Registration number as your User ID.

Pick ‘Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan’ as your jurisdiction.

An email notification will be sent to you when your account is approved. All this may take up to 5 business days. These accounts get approval manually M-F 8:00 to 5:00.

Reach the system by choosing ‘I am a registered user and would like to access the Competency Assessment System’.

After that, enter your information following the instructions on the screen. At this time, your educational information doesn’t show in the APEGS Competency assessment system.

If having any problems with the APEGS CBA system, you should contact APEGS.

After the assessment of your work experience, you will get the result by mail. If you don’t pass the first time, you will get the opportunity to redo any competencies that didn’t satisfy the requirements.

The authority should take 5 to 8 weeks in sending you your assessment result after all validations are completed. In case your validators are not acceptable, APEGS will inform you, and the validation process will happen again.
