Interleukin-1β (IL-1β) is involved in osteoarthritis pathogenesis and mediates a series of toxic processes including the production of matrix metalloproteinase and inflammatory regulators which are suppressed by activation of silent information regulator 1 (SIRT1). We aimed to determine the effects of ferulic acid (FA) on IL-1β-induced osteoarthritis chondrocyte degeneration.
We examined the effects of FA on osteoarthritis chondrocyte viability and SIRT1 activation. The impact of FA on IL-1β-induced osteoarthritis chondrocyte toxicity was determined by prostaglandin E2 (PGE

According to these available studies, the present review classified the adverse effects of NMs in C. elegans into systematic, cellular, and molecular toxicity, and focused on summarizing and analyzing the underlying mechanisms of metal, metal oxide, and nonmetallic NMs causing toxic effects in C. elegans. Our findings provide insights into what further studies are needed to assess the biosafety of NMs in the ecosystem using C. elegans. Melanoma is a highly aggressive malignant skin tumor as well as the primary reason for skin cancer-specific deaths. We first identified immune-related long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) prognostic signature and found potential immunotherapeutic targets for melanoma cancer.
RNA-seq data and clinical features of melanoma samples were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas. Samples of melanoma were randomly assigned to the training and testing cohort. The immune-related lncRNA signature was then obtained via using univariate, LASSO, and multivariate Cox analysis of patients in the training cohort. Eight significant immune-related lncRNA signature was then subsequently obtained through correlation analysis between immune-related genes and lncRNAs. The association between risk score and immune cell infiltration was finally assessed using TIMER and CIBERSORT.
Three hundred and fifty-six immune-related lncRNAs were obtained. Among them, eight immune-related lncRNAs were identified to build a prognostic risk signature model. The model's performance was then confirmed using the Kaplan-Meier curves, risk plots, and time-dependent receiver-operating characteristic curves in the training cohort. The risk score was identified and confirmed as an independent prognostic factor through univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses. These results were further verified in the testing and whole cohorts. CIBERSORT algorithm showed that the infiltration levels of T cells CD8, M1 macrophages, plasma cells, T cells CD4 memory activated, T cells gamma delta, and mast cells activated were significantly lower in the high-risk group while the infiltration level of macrophages M0 was significantly lower in the low-risk group.

Revolutionary advances in microbiological analysis techniques, together with the growing sophistication of the gut-lung axis hypothesis, have resulted in more studies linking gut microbiota dysbiosis to the occurrence and development of bronchopulmonary dysplasia. The present article builds on current findings to examine the intrinsic associations between gut microbiota and bronchopulmonary dysplasia. Gut microbiota dysbiosis may insult the intestinal barrier, triggering inflammation, metabolic disturbances, and malnutrition, consequences of which might impact bronchopulmonary dysplasia by altering the gut-lung axis. By evaluating the potential mechanisms, new therapeutic targets and potential therapeutic modalities for bronchopulmonary dysplasia can be identified from a microecological perspective.Coronavirus disease (Covid-19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), is currently the largest health crisis facing most countries. Several factors have been linked with a poor prognosis for this disease, including demographic factors, pre-existing comorbidities and laboratory parameters such as white blood cell count, D-dimer, C-reactive protein, albumin, lactate dehydrogenase, creatinine and electrolytes. Electrolyte abnormalities particularly potassium disorders are common among Covid-19 patients. Based on our pooled analysis, hypokalemia and hyperkalemia occur in 24.3% and 4.15% of Covid-19 patients, respectively. Potassium level deviation from the normal range may increase the chances of unfavorable outcomes and even death. Therefore, this article reviewed the epidemiology of potassium disorders and explained how hypokalemia and hyperkalemia are capable of deteriorating cardiac outcomes and the prognosis of Covid-19 for infected patients. The article finishes by highlighting some important considerations in the management of hypokalemia and hyperkalemia in these patients.

The aim of this study was to assess the metabolic cost (Cr) with marathon shoes (Adidas Adizero 3 [AA]) vs. track spikes (Nike Zoom Matumbo 3 [NZM]) on track. For this, five experienced runners were randomly assessed (NZM/AA) on a running track at 73% and 85% of best performance speed on 1500-m race. At first, speed (4.39 ± 0.53 m·s-1), Crs with AA and NZM resulted 3.63 ± 0.29 and 3.64 ± 0.43 J·kg-1·m-1 (+0.3% with NZM, effect size [ES] small and p = 0.951), respectively. Besides, at second speed (5.20 ± 0.18 m·s-1), Crs were 4.09 ± 0.28 and 4.07 ± 0.22 J·kg-1·m-1 (-0.5% with NZM, ES small and p = 0.919) with AA and NZM, respectively. It resulted in an increased Cr (+12.2%) between s1 and s2 with both shoe conditions (ES large and p = 0.009 and 0.011 with AA and NZM, respectively). There is a pattern yet to be confirmed for track spikes to become more beneficial at higher speeds (when duty factor becomes lower and therefore grip on track is crucial).Purpose To evaluate the efficacy, durability, and safety of percutaneous fixation by internal cemented screw (FICS) for prophylactic consolidation of impending pathologic fractures of the pelvic ring. Materials and Methods In this single-institute retrospective study, patients with large, minimally symptomatic to asymptomatic osteolytic tumors of the pelvic ring that were treated with percutaneous cone-beam CT-guided FICS procedures were included (January 2014 to May 2019). Follow-up cross-section imaging and clinical reports were reviewed for procedural complications and assessment of the long-term consolidation efficacy on the basis of the development of pathologic fracture or need for additional surgical intervention. All continuous variables were expressed as a mean with standard deviation, and dichotomous variables were expressed as frequencies and percentages. Results Fifty consecutive patients (mean age, 60 years ± 12; 27 men) underwent prophylactic FICS for consolidation of 54 osteolytic tumors (mean size, 51 mm ± 21.5; range, 30-114 mm). Local tumor destruction was performed in association with FICS in 38 patients (76%) using percutaneous thermal and/or radiation therapy. Follow-up exceeded a year in 35 patients (70%), with mean follow-up of 22 months ± 18 (range, 1-67 months). Long-term consolidation efficacy was 98% (49 of 50), with the development of a pathologic fracture in only one patient 20 months after FICS. Procedural complications were limited to two patients with self-resolving hematoma, one patient with inflammatory sciatic pain, and one patient with focal pain at the ischial tuberosity. Conclusion Percutaneous FICS provides a safe and durable minimally invasive treatment for the prevention of pathologic fractures of the pelvic ring. At the trial level, categorical responses for all patients are summated into image-based trial endpoints. These outcome measures, including objective response rate (ORR) and progression-free survival (PFS), are characteristics that can be derived from imaging and can be used as surrogates for overall survival (OS). Similar to OS, ORR and PFS describe the efficacy of a drug. U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory approval requires therapies to demonstrate direct evidence of clinical benefit, such as improved OS. However, multiple programs have been created to expedite drug approval for life-threatening illnesses, including advanced cancer. ORR and PFS have been accepted by the FDA as adequate predictors of OS on which to base drug approval decisions, thus substantially shortening the time and cost of drug development (1). Thus, we report on an abdominal wall cesarean section scar endometrioid adenocarcinoma studied by next-generation sequencing and microsatellite instability analysis.This study aimed to develop an effective therapy against M2 macrophages and to investigate the effects of imidazole and mannose modified carboxymethyl chitosan-nanoparticles (****NPs) on tumor growth and antitumor immune responses. https://www.selleckchem.com/JAK.html ****NPs were constructed and analyzed through 1H NMR, nano-laser particle size analyzer, and transmission electron microscopy. The nanoparticles were mainly distributed in 75-85 nm, and zeta potential was 1.5 mV. Cytotoxicity studies in vitro and in vivo indicated that ****NPs were safe. The targeting effect of ****NPs on M2 macrophages was observed through fluorescence microscope and microplate system. The results demonstrated the uptake of a large amount of FITC-loaded ****NPs by M2. Cell growth inhibition experiments showed that ****NPs significantly inhibited M2 through cell apoptosis. The evaluation of anti-tumor activity in vivo showed that ****NPs could accumulate in the tumor site to exert an anti-tumor effect. Flow cytometry showed that the proportion of M2 macrophages at the tumor site in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group, while the Treg cells and cytotoxic T cells (CTL) were found to be increased. The results are in line with previous research on obesity as we identify top SNPs previously associated with obesity. We further demonstrate how to interpret and visualize interaction candidates.

This study investigated the molecular epidemiology of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) among febrile children with acute respiratory tract infection in Ghana, Gabon, Tanzania and Burkina Faso between 2014-2017 as well as the evolution and diversification of RSV strains from other sub-Saharan countries.
Pharyngeal swabs were collected at four study sites (Agogo, Ghana n=490; Lambaréné, Gabon n=182; Mbeya, Tanzania n=293; Nouna, Burkina Faso n=115) and analysed for RSV and other respiratory viruses using rtPCR. For RSV positive samples, sequence analysis of the second hypervariable region of the G-gene was performed. A dataset of RSV strains from sub-Saharan Africa (2011-2017) currently available in GenBank was compiled. Phylogenetic analysis was conducted to identify the diversity of circulating RSV genotypes.
In total, 46 samples tested RSV positive (Ghana n=31 (6.3%), Gabon n=4 (2.2%), Tanzania n=9 (3.1%), Burkina Faso n=2 (1.7%)). The most common RSV co-infection was with rhinovirus. All RSV-A strainn GenBank.
A small number of national studies have explored the barriers to older people accessing dental care; however, to date none have investigated older people's recommendations for overcoming these barriers.
Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 40 dentate older people (65years and over) who resided in New Zealand's Otago region and received home-support. A joint inductive thematic analysis was undertaken, based on the constant comparative method.
Recommendations for boosting community-dwelling older people's access to dental care included publicly funding or subsiding the cost of dental care for older people, aligning the pension with the real cost of living, and making the environment at Work and Income less hostile and the emergency dental grant more readily available, making dental clinics more accessible, initiating domiciliary dental care, having mobile dental clinics visit neighbourhoods with high proportions of older people, as well as subsidised transport to the dental clinic. Other suggestions were having GPs, pharmacists and social workers emphasise oral health during appointments, along with dental education campaigns.

Although ophthalmic complaints were mostly mentioned in thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO), emotional and psychological disturbances are increasingly concerned. We aimed to investigate the brain functional alteration in TAO patients by using resting-state functional MRI (rs-fMRI) with the fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (fALFF), regional homogeneity (ReHo), and degree centrality (DC) methods.
Twenty-one consecutive TAO patients and 21 healthy controls (HCs) underwent rs-fMRI scans. The fALFF, ReHo, and DC values were compared between groups.
Compared with HCs, TAO group showed decreased fALFF values in bilateral calcarine/left lingual gyrus and left middle occipital gyrus (MOG). Moreover, TAO group had decreased ReHo values in left MOG/inferior occipital gyrus/fusiform gyrus, while increased ReHo values in bilateral middle frontal gyrus (MFG)/superior frontal gyrus (SFG) than HCs. TAO group also showed decreased DC values in bilateral postcentral gyrus (PoCG)/precentral gyrus/superior parietal lobule and supplementary motor area, and increased DC values in left SFG/MFG and MFG. In TAO patients, ReHo value in left MOG was positively correlated with visual acuity (r = 0.524, p = 0.021), while ReHo values in bilateral MFGs were negatively correlated with cognitive scores (left/right r = -0.476/-0.527, p = 0.039/0.020). DC value in left PoCG was negatively correlated with disease duration (r = -0.492, p = 0.033).

This study investigated the molecular epidemiology of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) among febrile children with acute respiratory tract infection in Ghana, Gabon, Tanzania and Burkina Faso between 2014-2017 as well as the evolution and diversification of RSV strains from other sub-Saharan countries. Pharyngeal swabs were collected at four study sites (Agogo, Ghana n=490; Lambaréné, Gabon n=182; Mbeya, Tanzania n=293; Nouna, Burkina Faso n=115) and analysed for RSV and other respiratory viruses using rtPCR. For RSV positive samples, sequence analysis of the second hypervariable region of the G-gene was performed. A dataset of RSV strains from sub-Saharan Africa (2011-2017) currently available in GenBank was compiled. Phylogenetic analysis was conducted to identify the diversity of circulating RSV genotypes. TAO group also showed decreased DC values in bilateral postcentral gyrus (PoCG)/precentral gyrus/superior parietal lobule and supplementary motor area, and increased DC values in left SFG/MFG and MFG. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a clinical syndrome caused by infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Here, we propose that SARS-CoV-2 infection induces a process known as immunothrombosis, in which activated neutrophils and monocytes interact with platelets and the coagulation cascade, leading to intravascular clot formation in small and larger vessels. Microthrombotic complications may contribute to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and other organ dysfunctions. Therapeutic strategies aimed at reducing immunothrombosis may therefore be useful. Several antithrombotic and immunomodulating drugs have been proposed as candidates to treat patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection. In this article, we use breast cancer as an example of the origins of tumour heterogeneity (in particular, the mutational spectrum and clonal evolution of progressing tumours) and of tumour cell plasticity (in particular, that shown by tumour cells undergoing epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition), as well as considering interclonal cooperativity and cell plasticity as sources of cancer cell heterogeneity. Pathologic diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) can be challenging in differentiating from benign and non-hepatocytic malignancy lesions. The aim of this study was to investigate the potential utility of α-fetoprotein (AFP) mRNA RNAscope, a sensitive and specific method, in the diagnosis of HCC.
Three independent retrospective cohorts containing 2216 patients with HCC, benign liver lesions, and non-hepatocytic tumours were examined. The applied virtual screening protocol led to the identification of four hits with binding modes showing access to the major and minor pockets of the ****binding site. Acute oral (425), subacute (407), and teratogenicity (414) studies were planned according to their respective guidelines given by organization of economic cooperation and development (OECD). Acute oral, subacute, and teratogenicity studies were carried out on 2000, 5-40, and 40 mg/kg doses. Blood samples were collected for hematological and biochemical analyses. Vital organs were excised for oxidative stress (superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione, and malondialdehyde) and histopathological analysis. LD 50 of SF3 was higher than 2000 mg/kg. In acute and subacute studies, levels of alkaline phosphates and aspartate transaminase were increased. Teratogenicity showed no resorptions, no skeletal or soft tissue abnormalities, and no cleft pallet. When the flue gas velocity was 20 m·s-1, the diameter of the round rod was 8 mm, and the spacing of the pipes was 15 mm, the removal efficiency of PM2.5 and PM10 reached 27.8 and 84.6%, respectively. Results of the accuracy and replicability on both synthetic and real network data show that the proposed manifold learning approach outperforms all hub identification methods employed in this evaluation.The emergence of Human Body Communication (HBC) as an alternative to wireless body area networks (WBAN) has led to the development of small sized, energy efficient and more secure wearable and implantable devices forming a network in and around the body. Umbilical arterial (UA) Doppler ultrasound velocity waveforms are widely used in the diagnosis of underlying placental vascular abnormalities in pregnancies with suspected FGR, which greatly help prevent stillbirth via ongoing fetal monitoring and timely delivery. However, the sensitivity of UA Doppler diagnosis diminishes late in gestation. Our goal was to present a generalized wave decomposition method to compute forward and reflected components from UA waveforms. A detailed anatomical based model was also developed to explain observed UA flow waveform and to explore how vascular properties affect the shape of flow wave components. Using pregnant **** and high frequency ultrasound microscopy, we obtained in utero Doppler and M- mode ultrasound measurements in 15 fetuses UA. Following ultrasound, the placentas were collected and perfused with contrast agent to obtain high-resolution 3D images of the feto-placental arteries. Model results indicate the significant role of terminal load impedance (capillary and/or veins) in creating positive or negative reflected waveforms. A negative reflected waveform is obtained when terminal impedance increases. This is consistent with the elongated and non-branching terminal villi that are proposed cause the highly abnormal UA waveforms found in early-onset FGR. The significance of these findings for the diagnostic utility of UA Doppler in human pregnancy is that the identification and measurement of wave reflections may aid in discriminating between healthy and abnormal placental vasculature in pregnancies with suspected late-onset FGR.Understanding scientific concepts and processes is critical for veterinary education. This article outlines the impact of blended learning and the use of an analogy on student understanding of the hypothalamic-pituitary-target gland axis over a three-year period. The first-year veterinary physiology course at our institution was modified to incorporate a blended learning approach. An analogy centered around a fast-food restaurant was introduced via an animated video to explain key concepts using an online module. Students completed the module on their own time and class time was optional for asking questions or obtaining clarification as needed. Learning was assessed using the same set of multiple-choice exam questions (MCQs). As hypothesized, students using the online module performed equally well (significantly better for those in the lower quartile) on three summative MCQs to those who received the same information delivered by traditional lecture. Student feedback identified positive aspects regarding blended learning using the analogy, including dynamic visuals, ability to work at their own time and pace, and ease of repeating information. Students cited lack of discipline and poor time management as obstacles to completing the module. Changing the anatomy and physiology of the hypothalamus and pituitary gland from static images and text to an animated video significantly improved student's preference for the blended learning approach. Blended learning and the analogy was preferred by 47% of students over the traditional lecture format (21% preferred traditional lecture and 32% were indifferent) and it was more effective in helping students master this important physiological concept.The Swedish response to the COVID-19 pandemic included age-based recommendations of voluntary quarantine specifically for those 70 years of age or older. This paper investigates the experiences of a sudden change of policy in the form of an age restriction that trumped the contemporary active aging ideal. A web-based qualitative survey was conducted in April 2020. Through manual coding of a total of 851 responses, six different ways of relating to the age-based recommendations were identified. The results show that age is not an unproblematic governing principle. Instead, in addition to protecting a vulnerable group, the age-based recommendation meant deprivation of previously assigned individual responsibility and, consequently, autonomy. It is shown how respondents handled this tension through varying degrees of compliance and resistance. Findings highlight the importance of continuously tracking the long-term consequences of age-based policy to avoid negative self-image and poorer health among older adults.

This study aimed to identify the sexual information requirements and related factors according to gender to improve sexual health in cancer patients. In this cross-sectional study, a total of 687 cancer patients from a single cancer center in Korea completed a self-reported questionnaire. Multiple logistic regression analysis was used to compare the sexual information requirements and related factors among cancer patients. The results showed that male cancer patients had higher demands for sexual information than female cancer patients (t = 27.11, p less then 0.001). Men appeared to have a greater need than women in the need for sexual information (t = 30.41, p less then 0.001) and professional sexual intervention (t = 21.97, p less then 0.001). Regarding sexual information needs, income (OR 0.43, 95% CI 0.25 to 0.73) was a significant factor in men. In women, age (OR 0.51, 95% CI 0.31 to 0.86), alcohol consumption (OR 1.88, 95% CI 1.12-3.16), and chemotherapy (OR 1.87, 95% CI 1.12-3.12) were significant factors. Significant differences in the overall sexual information needs and related factors were observed between male and female cancer patients. Therefore, a strategy needs to be established to improve the sexual health of cancer patients considering gender differences.The alkaline milieu of chronic wounds severely impairs the therapeutic effect of antibiotics, such as rifampicin; as such, the development of new drugs, or the smart delivery of existing drugs, is required. Herein, two innovative polyelectrolyte nanoparticles (PENs), composed of an amphiphilic chitosan core and a polycationic shell, were synthesized at alkaline pH, and in vitro performances were assessed by 1H NMR, elemental analysis, FT-IR, XRD, DSC, DLS, SEM, TEM, UV/Vis spectrophotometry, and HPLC. According to the results, the nanostructures exhibited different morphologies but similar physicochemical properties and release profiles. It was also hypothesized that the simultaneous use of the nanosystem and an antioxidant could be therapeutically beneficial. Therefore, the simultaneous effects of ascorbic acid and PENs were evaluated on the release profile and degradation of rifampicin, in which the results confirmed their synergistic protective effect at pH 8.5, as opposed to pH 7.4. Overall, this study highlighted the benefits of nanoparticulate development in the presence of antioxidants, at alkaline pH, as an efficient approach for decreasing rifampicin degradation.The use of phase change materials (PCMs) is an attractive method for energy storage and utilization in building envelopes. Here, shape-stabilized phase change materials (SS-PCMs) were prepared via direct adsorption using mesoporous silica (MS) with different pore diameters as the support matrix. The leakage properties, microstructure, chemical structure, thermophysical properties, activation energy, thermal stability and thermal storage-release characteristics of paraffin and SS-PCMs were investigated. The results show that the maximum mass proportion of paraffin in SS-PCMs is 70% when the average pore diameter of mesoporous silica is 15 nm, and the phase change temperature and latent heat of the corresponding SS-PCM are 23.6 °C and 135.4 kJ/kg, respectively. No chemical reaction occurs between mesoporous silica and paraffin and the SS-PCMs exhibit high thermal stability. The high activation energy of the paraffin (70%)/MS1 SS-PCM verifies that the shape and thermal properties can be maintained stably during phase change conversions. The time required for SS-PCMs to complete the thermal storage and release process is reduced by up to 34.0% compared with that for pure paraffin, showing a decline in the thermal conductivity of SS-PCMs after the addition of mesoporous silica. Hence, the prepared paraffin/MS SS-PCMs, in particular paraffin (70%)/MS1 SS-PCM, can be used for storing thermal energy and regulating indoor temperature in buildings.Leishmaniasis is one of the deadliest neglected tropical diseases affecting 12-15 million people worldwide, especially in middle- and low-income countries. Rapid and accurate diagnosis of the disease is important for its adequate management and treatment. Several techniques are available for the diagnosis of leishmaniasis. Among these, parasitological and immunological tests are most widely used. However, in most cases, the utilized diagnostic techniques are not good enough, showing cross-reactivity and reduced accuracy. In recent years, many new methods have been reported with potential for improved diagnosis. This review focuses on the diagnosis of Leishmania exploring the biosensors and nanotechnology-based options for their detection. New developments including the use of nanomaterials as fluorophores, fluorescence quenchers as reducing agents and as dendrimers for signal improvement and amplification, together with the use of aptamers to replace antibodies are described. Recovery of a PCR product spike-in, endogenous TP53, and Y-chromosome DNA was used to assess kit performance. Nucleosomal-sized DNA profiles varied among the kits, with prominent multi-nucleosomal-sized peaks present in urine and plasma DNA isolated by kits J and M only. Kit J recovered significantly more spike-in DNA than did kits M or Q (p less then 0.001) from urine, and similar amounts from plasma (p = 0.12). Applying DNApure to kit M- and Q-isolated DNA significantly improved the amplification efficiency of spike-in DNA from urine (p less then 0.001) and plasma (p ≤ 0.013). As one of the etiologies, the relationship between early T-cell recovery and subsequent cGVHD development has been the focus of attention. Recently, letermovir (LTV) was approved for preventing cytomegalovirus (CMV) reactivation in the early transplantation phase. Although CMV affects the immune reconstitution after HSCT, the impacts of LTV to prevent CMV reactivation on early T-cell recovery and cGVHD have not been fully investigated. We aimed to identify early T-cell recovery under LTV at day 30 in 15 and 33 recipients from matched related donors (MRDs) and haploidentical donors with post-transplant cyclophosphamide (PTCy-haplo), respectively. Early increases in the levels of total lymphocytes and HLA-DR+ activated T-cells at day 30 were observed under CMV prophylaxis by LTV only in PTCy-haplo recipients and not in MRD recipients. Moreover, PTCy-haplo recipients with LTV showed a significantly higher incidence of cGVHD, but not acute GVHD. Our observations suggest that an early increase in the levels of HLA-DR+ activated T-cells may be implicated in the development of cGVHD in patients treated with PTCy who received LTV. Intriguingly, a possible connection between ferroptosis and OVCA is shown on the basis of previously published findings. Furthermore, a growing number of ferroptosis protection pathways have been identified during the past few years with increasing ferroptosis regulators being discovered. In this review, we summarized several major pathways involved in ferroptosis and the study foundation of ferroptosis and ovarian cancer, hoping to provide clues regarding OVCA treatment. And some important issues were also raised to point out future research directions.
In patients with hormone receptor-positive (HR+)/premenopausal breast cancer, luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone analogs (LHRHas) are used as standard endocrine treatment. Based on previous clinical studies, 1-month formulations are recommended in most breast cancer treatment guidelines, but long-acting formulations facilitate reductions in side effects and patient discomfort caused by frequent administration. However, few efficacy studies have been conducted on 6-month formulations. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of 6-month formulations of LHRHas.
This retrospective study was conducted from January 2018 to December 2019 and involved premenopausal patients with HR+ breast cancer administered 6-month LHRHas as adjuvant treatment after surgery, and those previously administered chemotherapy or other LHRHa types were excluded.
