Bacteria surround themselves with peptidoglycan, an adaptable enclosure that contributes to cell shape and stability. Peptidoglycan assembly relies on penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) acting in concert with SEDS-family transglycosylases RodA and FtsW, which support cell elongation and division respectively. In Bacillus subtilis, cells lacking all four PBPs with transglycosylase activity (aPBPs) are viable. Here, we show that the alternative sigma factor σI is essential in the absence of aPBPs. Defects in aPBP-dependent wall synthesis are compensated by σI-dependent upregulation of an MreB homolog, MreBH, which localizes the LytE autolysin to the RodA-containing elongasome complex. Suppressor analysis reveals that cells unable to activate this σI stress response acquire gain-of-function mutations in the essential histidine kinase WalK, which also elevates expression of sigI, mreBH and lytE. These results reveal compensatory mechanisms that balance the directional peptidoglycan synthesis arising from the elongasome complex with the more diffusive action of aPBPs.A Gram-stain-positive, aerobic, motile, coccus-shaped bacterium, designated strain SCSIO 13315T, was isolated from mucus of the coral Galaxea sp. collected from Luhuitou fringing reef (Sanya, Hainan, PR China). The major polar lipids were phosphatidylethanolamine, diphosphatidylglycerol and phosphatidylinositol mannosides. Strain CT2-14T showed the highest 16S rRNA gene similarity to Nocardia veterana JCM 11307T (98.4 %), Nocardia africana JCM 11438T (98.2 %) and Nocardia kruczakiae JCM 13032T (98.0 %). The draft genome of strain CT2-14T was 7.37 Mb with 6685 coding sequences with an average G+C content of 67.9 mol %. Based on the phylogenomic tree analysis, the strain was closely related to Nocardia niigatensis NBRC 100131T. On the basis of polyphasic and genome analyses, strain CT2-14T represented a novel species of the genus Nocardia for which the name Nocardia aurantiaca sp. nov. is proposed. The Mr of surface-layer protein was 116 400. The optimum growth conditions of strain FWC-SCC2T were 37 °C, 0.17 M NaCl and pH 6.7-7.0. The genomic DNA G+C content calculated from the genome sequence of strain FWC-SCC2T was 59.5 mol %. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that strain FWC-SCC2T was a member of the genus Methanofollis, and was most closely related to Methanofollis tationis Chile 9T (97.6 % similarity of 16S rRNA gene sequence) and shared 97.4, 95.9, 95.9 and 95.4 % with Methanofollis liminatans GKZPZT, Methanofollis formosanus ML15T, Methanofollis aquaemaris N2F9704T and Methanofollis ethanolicus HASUT, respectively. Internet and smartphone addiction have become important social issues. Various studies have demonstrated their association with clinical and psychological factors, including depression, anxiety, aggression, anger expression, and behavioral inhibition, and behavioral activation systems. However, these two addictions are also highly correlated with each other, so the consideration of the relationship between internet and smartphone addiction can enhance the analysis. In this study, we considered the copula regression model to regress the bivariate addictions on clinical and psychological factors. Real data analysis with 555 students (age range 14-15 years; males, N = 295; females, N = 265) from South Korean public middle schools is illustrated. By fitting the copula regression model, we investigated the dependency between internet and smartphone addiction and determined the risk factors associated with the two addictions. Furthermore, by comparing the model fits of the copula model with linear regression and generalized linear models, the best copula model was proposed in terms of goodness of fit. Our findings revealed that internet and smartphone addiction are not separate problems, and that associations between them should be considered. Psychological factors, such as anxiety, the behavioral inhibition system, and aggression were also significantly associated with both addictions, while ADHD symptoms were related to internet addiction only. Due to the strict requirements for subjects and experimental environments, it is difficult to collect large-scale and high-quality electroencephalogram (EEG) data. However, the performance of a deep learning model depends directly on the size of the datasets. Therefore, the decoding of MI-EEG signals based on a DNN has proven highly challenging in practice. Based on this, we investigated the performance of different data augmentation (DA) methods for the classification of MI data using a DNN. First, we transformed the time series signals into spectrogram images using a short-time Fourier transfbserved after DA for the two datasets. In addition, the hybrid network CNN-DCGAN outperformed the other classification methods, with average kappa values of 0.564 and 0.677 for the two datasets.Although camelina [Camelina sativa (L.) Crantz] is a good source of protein, antioxidants, and polyunsaturated fatty acids, its antinutritional compounds limit its use in animal feeding. The aim of this study was to verify the effect of feeding laying hens with up to 20% of camelina cake from a breeding line containing a low level of glucosinolates on performance, welfare, and eggshell quality. Two hundred and forty Hy-Line® hens from 18 to 51 weeks of age were divided into three treatments control (C), camelina cake 10% (CAM10), and camelina cake 20% (CAM20). Egg number was recorded daily, while egg weight, feed consumption, and mortality were recorded weekly. At 24 and 43 weeks of hen age, shell resistance to fracture was measured. Our results demonstrate no detrimental effects for CAM10 and CAM20 diets on feed intake, growth performance, and welfare. No difference in egg production was detected among the diets. The significant (p less then 0.05) interaction of diet and age factors suggest that the addition of camelina cake, up to 20%, likely protects the eggshell of older hens. Our findings confirm that camelina cake might be an alternative and sustainable protein source for hens.Thermotolerant vaccines greatly improved the reach and impact of large-scale vaccination programs to eliminate diseases such as smallpox, polio and rinderpest. A recent study demonstrated that the potency of the Nobivac® Canine Rabies vaccine was not impacted following experimental storage at 30 °C for three months. We conducted a study to develop a passive cooling device (PCD) that could store thermotolerant vaccines under fluctuating subambient temperatures. Through a participatory process with local communities in Northern Tanzania, we developed innovative PCD designs for local manufacture. A series of field experiments were then carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of five PCDs for vaccine storage under varying climatic conditions. Following iterative improvement, a final prototype "Zeepot Clay" was developed at the cost of US$11 per unit. During a further field-testing phase over a 12-month period, the internal temperature of the device remained below 26 °C, despite ambient temperatures exceeding 42 °C.

In white-collar occupational groups, the risk of DP was greater compared with blue-collar workers. Students were associated with the highest level of risk for all mental and mood disorder DPs.
We found evidence of SES factors associating with mental disorder-related severe loss of working and studying ability in a disorder-specific way. Notably, white-collar workers had an increased risk of mental disorder DP. This could be related to the psychosocially demanding contemporary working life in non-manual work.

Stepwise dosing during week 1, pretreatment dexamethasone, prompt use of tocilizumab, and temporary dose reductions/interruptions successfully prevented severe IRR/CRS. Clinical benefit accrued to PIF/ER patients showing an immune-infiltrated TME. Among 30 PIF/ER patients treated at the RP2D, the complete remission (CR)/CR with partial hematological recovery (CRh) rate was 26.7%, with an overall response rate (CR/CRh/CR with incomplete hematological recovery) of 30.0%. In PIF/ER patients who achieved CR/CRh, median overall survival was 10.2 months (range, 1.87-27.27), with 6- and 12-month survival rates of 75% (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.450-1.05) and 50% (95% CI, 0.154-0.846). Bone marrow transcriptomic analysis showed that a parsimonious 10-gene signature predicted CRs to flotetuzumab (area under the receiver operating characteristic curve = 0.904 vs 0.672 for the European LeukemiaNet classifier). Flotetuzumab represents an innovative experimental approach associated with acceptable safety and encouraging evidence of activity in PIF/ER patients. Mindfulness is defined as paying attention in a particular way on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally and these behaviors can be applied to parenting. Thus far, it is not understood whether mindful parenting (MP) differs in parents of children with and without attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and how MP relates to other parenting practices and children's self-regulation.
This study examined the relationships between MP, parenting behaviors and children's self-regulation in 120 families with child ADHD (85% male; mean age = 11.93) and 105 control families (62% male; mean age = 11.98). Parents completed measures of MP (Interpersonal Mindfulness in Parenting Scale), parenting behaviors (parenting warmth, consistency, and anger assessed with the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children measures), psychological distress (Kessler 6), and children's self-regulation (Social Skills Improvement System-self-control subscale).
When compared with controls, parents of children with ADHD reported significantly lower MP. Higher MP was associated with lower levels of parent psychological distress, higher levels of parenting warmth and consistency, lower levels of parenting anger, and higher child emotion self-regulation in both groups. In mediation analyses, MP was indirectly associated with child emotion self-regulation through lower parenting anger, with the model accounting for 55% of the variance in child self-regulation.

Women may have fewer professional resources to mitigate effects of low control, while conversely, gender-role norms may moderate the influence of occupational psychosocial risk factors. This observational, longitudinal study included respondents of the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe who were aged 50-64 years at entry, employed and provided at least two measurements of control and cognition (n = 6697). Relationships between control and cognition, quantified with standardized scores from verbal fluency, immediate and delayed word recall tests, were explored using linear fixed-effect and random-effect models with gender interactions.

Adult neurogenesis is regulated by diverse factors including the local environment, i.e. the neurogenic niche. However, whether the lipid in the brain regulates adult neurogenesis and related mechanisms remains largely unknown. In the present study, we found that lipid accumulates in the brain during postnatal neuronal development. Conditional knockout of Fto (cKO) in lipid not only reduced the level of lipid in the brain but also impaired the learning and memory of ****. In addition, Fto deficiency in lipid did not affect the proliferation of adult neural stem cells (aNSCs), but it did inhibit adult neurogenesis by inducing cell apoptosis. Mechanistically, specific deleting Fto in lipid altered gene expression and increased adenosine secretion of adipocytes. The treatment of adenosine promoted the apoptosis of newborn neurons. So far, this phenotype was only observed when K. phaffii was cultivated at slow growth rates in glucose-limited chemostats, but not upon nitrogen starvation or the presence of fusel alcohols. Transcriptional analysis identified that FLO11, FLO400 and FLO5-1 are involved in the phenotype, all being controlled by the transcriptional regulator Flo8. The three genes exhibit a complex mechanism of expression and repression during transition from yeast to pseudohyphal form. Unlike in S. cerevisiae, deletion of FLO11 does not completely prevent the phenotype. In contrast, deletion of FLO400 or FLO5-1 prevents pseudohyphae formation, and hampers FLO11 expression. FAIRE-Seq data shows that the expression and repression of FLO400 and FLO5-1 are correlated to open or closed chromatin regions upstream of these genes, respectively. To examine the change in subjective age with the emergence of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Two competing hypotheses were tested (a) people felt increasingly older due to the stress generated by the pandemic and (b) people felt increasingly younger due to psychological distancing from older age, a vulnerability to COVID-19.
An age- and sex-stratified sample of adults from across the United States (baseline N = 3,738) was assessed on 3 occasions before the COVID-19 outbreak in late January/early February and during the outbreak in late March and again in late April. Multilevel modeling analysis examined the change in subjective age and tested potential moderators of individual differences in the trajectory of subjective age.
The average trajectory of subjective age followed a concave curve, with a nadir (feeling younger) during the second assessment in late March. Older age, negative expectations about aging, absence of preexisting conditions, and less stress during COVID-19 were associated with feeling younger but did not predict the rate of change. The only significant predictor of change in subjective age was the belief that the "coronavirus is only a threat to older adults" The more individuals agreed with this statement, the more likely it was that they felt increasingly younger at follow-up.

We also evaluate the major functional implications of NP interactome and the role of ExoN, thus making the NP a target of choice for future vaccine and antiviral therapy.The objective was to evaluate the effect of oral administration of Lactobacillusplantarum CAM6 strain as an alternative to antibiotics in weaned pigs on productive parameters, blood biochemical profile, and IgA serum levels. Thirty-six 21-day-old weaned piglets were randomly assigned to three groups with three replicates of four piglets each. Treatments consisted of a basal diet (BD; T0) without probiotics or antibiotics; BD + antibiotics and the same basal diet used in T0 plus oral administration of 5 mL × 109 CFU/mL of L. plantarum CAM-6 (T2). During the study (21 to 49 days of age) T2 obtained a similar live weight, weight gain, and feed conversion ratio when compared to the T1. Both treatments were better in these variables compared to T0 (p ≤ 0.05). Furthermore, T2 increased serum IgA levels (p ≤ 0.05). Additionally, hematological parameters and acid-base balance remained similar in all groups. However, significant reductions in the mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration, platelets, and metabolic hydrogen ions were observed in T1 (p ≤ 0.05). The results of this study suggest that supplementation with L. plantarum CAM6 can be an alternative to antibiotics. In this study, we investigated the functional roles and signal transduction of the B-cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2)-like protein 15 (BCL2L15) in the regulation of endometrial receptivity in vitro. Our results showed that BCL2L15 was up-regulated in goat endometrial epithelial cells (EECs) under progesterone (P4), estradiol (E2), and interferon-tau (IFN-τ) treatments. Our knockdown of BCL2L15 by specific shRNA that significantly hampered endometrial receptivity. In the absence of BCL2L15, the signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT)1 and STAT3 pathway were activated. Additionally, pretreatment with the STAT1 inhibitor, fludarabine, restored the effect of silencing BCL2L15 on the endometrial receptivity, but not the STAT3 inhibitor Stattic. Overall, these results suggested that BCL2L15 is the key regulator of endometrial receptivity in goats, regulating the endometrial receptivity through the STAT1 pathway. Understanding the function of BCL2L15-STAT1 in endometrial receptivity is important to the exploration of new targets for the diagnosis and treatment of early pregnancy failure, and improving the success rates for artificial reproduction.

Treatments consisted of a basal diet (BD; T0) without probiotics or antibiotics; BD + antibiotics and the same basal diet used in T0 plus oral administration of 5 mL × 109 CFU/mL of L. plantarum CAM-6 (T2). During the study (21 to 49 days of age) T2 obtained a similar live weight, weight gain, and feed conversion ratio when compared to the T1. Both treatments were better in these variables compared to T0 (p ≤ 0.05). Furthermore, T2 increased serum IgA levels (p ≤ 0.05). Additionally, hematological parameters and acid-base balance remained similar in all groups. However, significant reductions in the mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration, platelets, and metabolic hydrogen ions were observed in T1 (p ≤ 0.05). Our results showed that BCL2L15 was up-regulated in goat endometrial epithelial cells (EECs) under progesterone (P4), estradiol (E2), and interferon-tau (IFN-τ) treatments. Our knockdown of BCL2L15 by specific shRNA that significantly hampered endometrial receptivity. In the absence of BCL2L15, the signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT)1 and STAT3 pathway were activated. Additionally, pretreatment with the STAT1 inhibitor, fludarabine, restored the effect of silencing BCL2L15 on the endometrial receptivity, but not the STAT3 inhibitor Stattic. The study included 1945 participants from the Northern Finland Birth Cohort 1966 (NFBC1966), who had a complete dental status. The participants underwent clinical medical and dental examinations, and their medication data were gathered by combining self-reported drug use with information from the National Prescription Register. Anticholinergic burden was measured using nine previously published anticholinergic scales. After adjustments for confounding factors, the RRs of anticholinergic burden varied between 0.95 and 1.11 for toothbrushing frequency. Anticholinergic burden (according to Anticholinergic Activity Scale, Anticholinergic Cognitive Burden, Chew's scale) was associated statistically significantly with the number of teeth with dental plaque. For the three scales, RRs varied from 1.24 to 1.50.

Forty patients (21 females, 19 males) with ages ranging between 18 and 38years (23.15 ± 5.15) received 80 (13 Cl I and 67 Cl II) resin composite restorations (Charisma/Charisma Classic, Kulzer GmbH) in combination with an etch and rinse adhesive system (Gluma 2Bond) under rubber dam isolation. Two experienced operators performed all the restorations. Restorations were evaluated by the other two examiners according to the FDI criteria at baseline and at 6, 12, 18, 24, 36, 48 and 60months. Surface characteristics of one restoration selected randomly were examined under a scanning electron microscope (SEM) at each recall. Data were analyzed statistically (p< 0.05).
After 60months, recall rate was 90%. None of the restorations failed. Three restorations from Charisma and 4 from the Charisma Classic group showed minor surface staining. Twelve Charisma and 14 Charisma Classic restorations were scored as 2 for margin staining. Four restorations from both groups showed minor shade deviations but no significant difference was observed between the two restorative materials for any criteria evaluated after 60months (p > 0.05). SEM evaluations were in accordance with the clinical findings.
Both materials exhibited clinically similar and successful performance over the 60-month observation period.

In this study, we aimed to assess the feasibility of fiberoptic intubation (FOI), using a new, self-designed, "tongue root holder" device, in combination with the jaw thrust maneuver.
Three hundred patients undergoing elective surgery requiring orotracheal intubation were enrolled. Patients presented at least one or more risk factors for difficult airway. The patients were randomly allocated at a 11 ratio to one of two groups group L, FOI with tongue root holder, or group C, standard FOI. Orotracheal FOI was performed after commencement of anesthesia. The jaw thrust maneuver was applied in both groups to facilitate advancement of the fiberoptic bronchoscope. The primary endpoint was the feasibility of FOI. The secondary endpoints were number of attempts, time to intubation, and airway clearance at the soft palate and epiglottis levels.
The FOI was achieved in all 150 patients in group L, significantly higher than that in group C (100% vs 95.3%; P = 0.015). Less attempts of intubation were made in group duced to reduce the incidence rate of upper airway obstruction.The pathogen Legionella longbeachae is a causative agent of legionellosis. This protein is involved in lipopolysaccharide biosynthesis and catalyzes the isomerization of sedoheptulose 7-phosphate in D-glycero-D-manno-heptose 7-phosphate. Molecular docking revealed compound 1 (2-(6-(N,N-dimethyl sulfamoyl)pipridin-4-yl)pyrazin-2-yl)imidazol-3-ium-1-ide) as the potent inhibitor having GOLD fitness score of 69. The complex is affirmed by half-site effect via simulation analysis. Complex stability was investigated via several approaches that follows dynamic simulation and binding energies. Trajectory analysis revealed slight change in ring positioning of inhibitor inside the active pocket during 130 ns (nanosecond).

NEU1 is deficient in the neurodegenerative lysosomal storage disease sialidosis, and its targeting to and stability in lysosomes strictly depend on PPCA. In contrast, β-Gal only partially depends on PPCA, prompting us to investigate the role that β-Gal plays in the multienzyme complex. Here, we demonstrate that β-Gal negatively regulates NEU1 levels in lysosomes by competitively displacing this labile sialidase from PPCA. Chronic cellular uptake of purified recombinant human β-Gal (rhβ-Gal) or chronic lentiviral-mediated GLB1 overexpression in GM1 gangliosidosis patient fibroblasts coincides with profound secondary NEU1 deficiency. A regimen of intermittent enzyme replacement therapy dosing with rhβ-Gal, followed by enzyme withdrawal, is sufficient to augment β-Gal activity levels in GM1 gangliosidosis patient fibroblasts without promoting NEU1 deficiency. In the absence of β-Gal, NEU1 levels are elevated in the GM1 gangliosidosis mouse brain, which are restored to normal levels following weekly intracerebroventricular dosing with rhβ-Gal. Collectively, our results highlight the need to carefully titrate the dose and dosing frequency of β-Gal augmentation therapy for GM1 gangliosidosis. A regimen of intermittent enzyme replacement therapy dosing with rhβ-Gal, followed by enzyme withdrawal, is sufficient to augment β-Gal activity levels in GM1 gangliosidosis patient fibroblasts without promoting NEU1 deficiency. In the absence of β-Gal, NEU1 levels are elevated in the GM1 gangliosidosis mouse brain, which are restored to normal levels following weekly intracerebroventricular dosing with rhβ-Gal. Adverse cardiac remodelling clinically manifests as deleterious changes to heart architecture (size, mass and geometry) and function. These changes, which include alterations to ventricular wall thickness, chamber dilation and poor contractility, are important because they progressively drive patients with cardiac disease towards heart failure and are associated with poor prognosis. Cysteine cathepsins contribute to key signalling pathways involved in adverse cardiac remodelling including synthesis and degradation of the cardiac extracellular matrix (ECM), cardiomyocyte hypertrophy, impaired cardiomyocyte contractility and apoptosis. In this review, we highlight the role of cathepsins in these signalling pathways as well as their translational potential as therapeutic targets in cardiac disease.
Studies have shown that destruction of the intestinal barrier in type 2 diabetes (T2D) leads to increased absorption of macromolecules from intestinal. We previously exhibited that short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and bile acids (BAs) were significantly decreased in faeces of T2D patients. In the current study, we extended these findings by focusing on the interactions between intestinal barrier and clinical characteristics, gut microbiota, SCFAs and BAs.

We aimed to evaluate the readiness and predictors of diabetes service capability at the level of primary care in Bangladesh as an illustrative instance of readiness for diabetes care in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
We used data from the 2014 Bangladesh Health Facility Survey (BHFS), a cross-sectional, nationally representative survey (n=1596 health facilities). We constructed a diabetes-specific readiness index to assess diabetes service readiness in facilities with outpatient capability and used multivariable regression analysis to evaluate contextual predictors of diabetes service readiness.
Three-hundred and forty-five facilities with outpatient and diabetes service capability were included. Mean readiness for diabetes service capability on a scale of 0-100 was 24.9 (95%CI 20.8-28.9) and was lowest in rural settings, districts with high social deprivation, and public facilities, where diabetes diagnostic equipment and medications were largely unavailable. Facility type was the strongest, independent predictor of diabetes service readiness.

Body-weight fluctuation is associated with an increased risk of all-cause mortality. Yet no studies investigate its association with risk of diabetes in adults aged≥60years. This study aimed to address this issue.
A total of 1,565 participants free of diabetes at baseline in the CHARLS were followed for 4-year. Body-weight was collected at baseline and every 2-year. Spherical refractive error (SRE), macular total retinal thickness (TRT), ganglion cell layer (GCL), retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL), minimum rim width (MRW), and Bruch's membrane opening area (BMOA) were measured. Clinical and biochemical parameters were recorded at the time of SD-OCT and starting at T1D onset. Multiple regression models were calculated using SD-OCT parameters as dependent and risk factors as independent variables.

Materials and methods The study involved 1,044 children with UTI aged from 1 month to 18 years. Examination of patients and interpretation of the results was performed in accordance with the provisions of the Declaration of Helsinki of Human Rights. According to the design, the study included 3 comparison groups Group 1 - children of the 2009 follow-up year (n = 337), Group 2 - of 2014 (n = 328) and Group 3 - of 2019 (n = 379).
Results Escherichia coli is recognized as the leading uropathogen in all study groups its percentage in Group 1 was 47 % (158/337), in Group 2 - 64 % (210/328) and in Group 3 - 66.5 % (252/379). The prevalence of antibacterial resistance of E. coli strains and the high dynamics of its growth are shown. So the level of resistance of E. Coli in 2019 was 70 ± 4.06 % (176/252). This was 11 % more compared to 2014 anion. An unfavourable prognosis of an increase in the relative risk of ABR by 2.9-3.7 times in the next 5-10 years was determined among patients with UTI, provided that the existing diagnostic and treatment approaches are maintained.
Conclusions The study results are important for understanding the clinical decision on the benefits of antibacterial therapy and optimizing its empirical choice for a patient with UTI.

The aim To investigate the informative content of immunocytochemical studies of lymph node aspirate using a molecular marker of cytokeratin 19 in patients with laryngeal cancer as for regional metastastatic spread.
Materials and methods A comprehensive investigation with immunohistochemical study of squamous cell carcinoma of larynx of 74 patients with laryngeal cancer II - IV stage (T2-4 N0-3 M0) of the second clinical group was conducted.
Results Statistically significant differences (p <0.001) in the structure of distribution of marker expression between groups were revealed. Thus, a marked expression of cytokeratin 19 was determined in 11 (29.73%) representatives of the group with regional metastases and only in 1 (2.7%) patient without tumor metastases (p = 0.002). In the group with metastases the presence of atypical cells was confirmed cytologically in 26 cases (70,27%).
Conclusions To predict the development of laryngeal metastases in laryngeal cancer patients, it is recommended to carry out an immunocytochemical study using a diagnostic marker of cytokeratin 19. The aim To study possibilities of prognosis of pathological wear of tooth hard tissues development depending on the functional activity of masticatory muscles.
Materials and methods In order to achieve the goal of the study, a survey of patients at the age of 19 to 69 years was conducted for precision of number of persons who have increased tooth wear. During the examination of all patients, three groups were selected control and two researched ones. Patients in the control group (30 patients between the age of 18 and 60 years old) had an intact dentition without any visible sign of increased tooth wear. The researched groups included 25 patients aged from 18 to 60 years old. The secondresearch group included patients who had increased tooth wear of I-III level. The children of the patients of the II group with or without any sign of increased tooth wear were referred to the third research group.
Results The method of electromyography was performed for the study of peculiarities of the muscular activity of the maxillofacial area of the patients of the control and research groups. In our opinion, all manifestations of increased tooth wear are related to changes in the muscle system, the motor apparatus and the nervous activity of an organism.
Conclusions The study of direct muscular apparatus and related bone system may predict the possibility of developing of an increased tooth wear of young patients in the future and prevent its development, as well as to justify the application of a prevention and treatment plan of the studied pathology.

The aim To investigate the informative content of immunocytochemical studies of lymph node aspirate using a molecular marker of cytokeratin 19 in patients with laryngeal cancer as for regional metastastatic spread. Materials and methods A comprehensive investigation with immunohistochemical study of squamous cell carcinoma of larynx of 74 patients with laryngeal cancer II - IV stage (T2-4 N0-3 M0) of the second clinical group was conducted. Results Statistically significant differences (p <0.001) in the structure of distribution of marker expression between groups were revealed. Thus, a marked expression of cytokeratin 19 was determined in 11 (29.73%) representatives of the group with regional metastases and only in 1 (2.7%) patient without tumor metastases (p = 0.002). In the group with metastases the presence of atypical cells was confirmed cytologically in 26 cases (70,27%). Conclusions To predict the development of laryngeal metastases in laryngeal cancer patients, it is recommended to carry out an immunocytochemical study using a diagnostic marker of cytokeratin 19. The positive status of cytokeratin 19 increases the chances of regional metastasis of laryngeal cancer by 18.37 times (p<0.001) compared with absence of expression. Materials and methods In order to achieve the goal of the study, a survey of patients at the age of 19 to 69 years was conducted for precision of number of persons who have increased tooth wear. During the examination of all patients, three groups were selected control and two researched ones. Patients in the control group (30 patients between the age of 18 and 60 years old) had an intact dentition without any visible sign of increased tooth wear. The researched groups included 25 patients aged from 18 to 60 years old. The secondresearch group included patients who had increased tooth wear of I-III level. The children of the patients of the II group with or without any sign of increased tooth wear were referred to the third research group. Results The method of electromyography was performed for the study of peculiarities of the muscular activity of the maxillofacial area of the patients of the control and research groups. In our opinion, all manifestations of increased tooth wear are related to changes in the muscle system, the motor apparatus and the nervous activity of an organism. Conclusions The study of direct muscular apparatus and related bone system may predict the possibility of developing of an increased tooth wear of young patients in the future and prevent its development, as well as to justify the application of a prevention and treatment plan of the studied pathology.
