The green yellow and yellow modules including Hmox1, Mif, Anxa2, Timp1, Gfap, Cd9, Gja1, Pdpn, and Gpx1 were related to response to wounding, indicating that expression of these genes such as Hmox1, Anxa2, and Timp1 could protect the brains from brain injury. The green yellow module highlighted genes involved in microglial cell activation such as Tyrobp, Cx3cr1, Grn, Trem2, C1qa, and Aif1, suggesting that these genes were responsible for the inflammatory response caused by TBI. The upregulation of these genes has been validated in an independent dataset. These results indicated that the key genes in microglia cell activation may serve as a promising therapeutic target for TBI. In summary, the present study provided a full view of the dynamic gene expression changes following TBI.

    Detailed information on the HH compounds was obtained from two public databases, and oral bioavailability (OB) and drug-like (DL) of the compounds were evaluated. However, there is no report available that shows its effects on platelet functions. Here, we elucidated antiplatelet and antithrombotic effects of ethyl acetate fraction of E. koreanum. Methodology. We analyzed the antiplatelet properties using standard in vitro and in vivo techniques, such as light transmission aggregometry, scanning electron microscopy, intracellular calcium mobilization measurement, dense granule secretion, and flow cytometry to assess integrin α IIb β 3 activation, clot retraction, and Western blot, on washed platelets. The antithrombotic effects of E. koreanum were assessed by arteriovenous- (AV-) shunt model in rats, and its effects on hemostasis were analyzed by tail bleeding assay in ****. Key Results. E. koreanum inhibited platelet aggregation in agonist-stimulated human and rat washed platelets, and it also reduced calcium mobilization, ATP secretion, and TXB2 formation. Fibrinogen binding, fibronectin adhesion, and clot retraction by attenuated integrin α IIb β 3-mediated inside-out and outside-in signaling were also decreased. Reduced phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERK), Akt, PLCγ2, and Src was observed. Moreover, the fraction inhibited thrombosis. HPLC results revealed that the fraction predominantly contained icariin. Conclusion and Implications. E. koreanum inhibited platelet aggregation and thrombus formation by attenuating calcium mobilization, ATP secretion, TXB2 formation, and integrin α IIb β 3 activation.   • Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) originates from apoptotic and/or necrotic cells. Few reports are available that examine cfDNA from postmortem samples. Therefore, this study investigated differences between postmortem and biogenic subjects in concentration and fragment distribution of serum cfDNA. We also clarified features of serum cfDNA in postmortem subjects. The results revealed that postmortem subjects had significantly higher cfDNA concentrations than healthy controls and patients with cardiac disease. Serum cfDNA concentrations increased slightly with postmortem interval in subjects who died of asphyxia, and they were slightly higher in subjects who died from internal vs. external causes. Microchip electrophoresis of serum cfDNA revealed a fragment larger than 10,000 bp in only two postmortem subjects; we speculate that the fragment may have originated from necrotic cells. A relatively high concentration of one 150-200 bp fragment was characteristic of postmortem samples. This fragment may have been derived from apoptosis or other processes. We also observed ladder fragments in some subjects who died from external causes. Although additional research is needed for verification, serum cfDNA concentrations and fragment patterns possibly be used as a tool to estimate postmortem intervals and cause of death.
    Thrombophilia is a substantial source of indisposition and mortality in several countries, including Arab populations. Deep venous thrombosis (DVT) with or without pulmonary embolism (PE) is the prevalent clinical manifestation of thrombophilia. While many genetic risk factors for DVT are known, almost all associated with hemostasis, many genetic factors remain unexplained. Nowadays, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) offers a potential solution that allows several candidate genes to be analyzed simultaneously at a reasonable expense.

    We performed variant screening in the thrombophilia associated genes in Factor V Leiden (FVL) mutation-negative patients using Ion Torrent Next-generation sequencing (NGS). Ion AmpliSeq panel for 18 genes was designed. Twenty-nine unrelated patients with idiopathic VTE were recruited for NGS.

    We were able to identify 19 variants (1 novel and 18 previously reported) in 10 out of 18 targeted genes. Pathogenic variants were identified in 22 patients demonstrating mutation detec may predispose to thrombophilia.     Recent study suggests the distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) plays a role in flexion and extension of the wrist. We examined the range of motion (ROM) of the wrist before and after DRUJ fixation and distal ulnar resection in a cadaveric model.

    Twenty fresh cadaveric human wrists were transected and treated with two sequential interventions (a) DRUJ fixation, and (b) distal ulnar resection. The angle of maximum flexion and extension of the wrist was measured before and after the procedures. Maximum force to the wrist was determined before the procedures using a digital pressure monitor.

    The mean maximum wrist flexion ROM was 84.2° before the procedures. The ROM decreased to 82.5° after DRUJ fixation, and significantly increased to 88.2° after subsequent resection of the distal ulna. The mean maximum wrist extension ROM before the procedures was 73.5°. The ROM decreased to 71.6° after DRUJ fixation, and significantly increased to 77.1° after subsequent resection of the distal ulna.

It is also important to consider the competing paradigms in which a service is delivered as this may facilitate or hinder self-management.     The advisory board to the Ontario Ministry of Health considered adopting the new three-variable international risk scoring tool (IRST) to guide prophylaxis against respiratory syncytial virus hospitalization (RSVH) in moderate-to-late preterm infants born 32-35 weeks' gestational age (wGA). Canada currently uses a nationally validated, seven-variable RST, to predict RSVH in 33-35 wGA infants. We explored the potential implications of switching from the Canadian to the IRST.

    Predictive accuracy (area under the receiver operating characteristic curve [AUROC]) of the two RSTs and correlations (Spearman rank) and number needed to treat (NNT) between cut-off scores for low-, moderate- and high-risk subjects were assessed.

    The RSTs contain many of the same risk factors (birth proximity to the RSV season, smoking, siblings, daycare), with the Canadian RST also including sex, small for GA and familial eczema. In this study, we aimed to compare the clinical course of COVID-19 in adult SCD patients under the organ injury mitigation and clinical care improvement program (BASCARE) with healthcare professionals without significant comorbid conditions. The study was planned as a retrospective, multicenter and cross-sectional study. Thirty-nine SCD patients, ages 18 to 64 years, and 121 healthcare professionals, ages 21 to 53, were included in the study. The data were collected from the Electronic Health Recording System of PRANA, where SCD patients under the BASCARE program had been registered.     The aim of this study was to compare the safety and efficacy of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) with microwave ablation (MWA) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) within the Milan criteria in challenging locations.

    This study retrospectively investigated 201 consecutive patients with Milan criteria HCCs who underwent RFA (RFA group, n = 150) or MWA (MWA group, n = 51) between January 2012 and December 2016. Overall survival (OS), recurrence-free survival (RFS), local tumor control, and treatment-related complications were compared between the two groups. Prognostic factors were analyzed using the Cox proportional hazard regression model.

    Median follow-up duration was 36.7months (range 6.2-64.0months). Cumulative 1-, 3-, and 5-year OS rates were 97.9%, 92.3%, and 80.6% in the MWA group and 96.4%, 87.4%, and 78.2% in the RFA group, respectively, (P = 0.450). Cumulative RFS rates at 1, 3, and 5years were 93.2%, 74.4%, and 63.7% in the MWA group and 80.3%, 57.3%, and 49.6% in the RFA group, respectively, (P = 0.097). Multivariate analyses showed that variable categories "patient age above 65years" (P = 0.004) and "more than one tumor" (P = 0.004) were associated with overall mortality, and "patient age above 65years" (P = 0.048) and "tumor size greater than 3cm" (P = 0.009) were associated with inferior RFS. The incidences of major complications were not significantly different between the two groups (3.3% vs 3.9%, P = 0.843).

    A total of seven glutathione reductase (GR) genes were identified in Triticum aestivum, which were used for comparative structural characterization, phylogenetic analysis and expression profiling with the GR genes of other cereal plants. The modulated gene expression and enzyme activity revealed the role of GRs in abiotic stress response in T. aestivum. Glutathione reductase (GR) is an enzymatic antioxidant that converts oxidized glutathione (GSSG) into reduced glutathione (GSH) through the ascorbate-glutathione cycle. In this study, a total of seven GR genes forming two homeologous groups were identified in the allohexaploid genome of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum). Besides, we identified three GR genes in each Aegilops tauschii, Brachypodium distachyon, Triticum urartu and Sorghum bicolor, which were used for comparative characterization. Phylogenetic analysis revealed the clustering of GR proteins into two groups; class I and class II, which were predicted to be localized in cytoplasm and chloroplast, rht, heat, salt and arsenic stress. Interaction of GRs with other proteins and chemical compounds of the ascorbate-glutathione cycle revealed their coordinated functioning. Differentiating a new-onset EGPA from COVID-19 during the current pandemic is a diagnostic challenge, particularly if other EGPA symptoms are overlooked. Here in this study we reviewed the literature regarding EGPA patients with COVID-19 and patients who diagnosed with EGPA or suffered an EGPA flare mimicking COVID-19. We conducted a literature survey in PUBMED database using meshed keywords "COVID-19" and "EGPA", "COVID-19" and "eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis", "COVID-19" and "Churg Strauss Syndrome", to reveal previously reported cases involving EGPA patients who had COVID-19 infection, patients who suspected to have COVID-19 but eventually diagnosed with EGPA and patients with a known diagnosis of EGPA who suffered a flare but a COVID-19 infection was suspected initially. A total of 11 cases (6 literature cases, 5 cases from our clinic) were included in our study. Seven (63.6%) of the cases were defined as COVID-19 mimicker and 4 (36.4%) were EGPA with COVID-19. All of the cases in EGPA with COVID-19 group had a history of asthma. All of them had a positive PCR result and ground-glass opacities in thorax CT. In COVID-19 mimicker group, six (85.7%) patients had a history of asthma and other EGPA features that were observed were eosinophilia in 6 (85.7%). Our study provided clues regarding the EGPA/COVID-19 diagnostic challenge which may be useful in the current pandemic. Since none of the findings in COVID-19 are disease-specific, other conditions like EGPA should not be overlooked particularly in PCR negative patients and clinical, laboratory and imaging findings should be interpreted carefully.   • Oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is considered as a critical half-cell reaction of water splitting, the kinetics of which is sluggish even not favored, thus requiring highly active electrocatalysts to shrink the reaction energy barrier and improve the energy conversion efficiency. In this study, In-situ generated trimetallic molybdate nanoflowers on Ni foam by a straightforward and time-saving solvothermal method assisted with microwave, not only bring synergistic effect into full play between multiple metals, but also construct a well-defined nanoflower-like structure accompanied by larger specific area (273.3 m2  g-1 ) and smaller size than the pristine NiMoO4 . The resulting Ni0.9 Al0.1 MoO4 -NF requires a relatively low overpotential of 266 mV for OER at 10 mA cm-2 , which outperforms commercial RuO2 catalysts (274 mV). Such excellent performance compares favorably to most previously reported NiMoO4 -based electrocatalysts for OER. The rate of ammonia production can be controlled which can be used to prepare gels with differing properties.     Oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is considered as a critical half-cell reaction of water splitting, the kinetics of which is sluggish even not favored, thus requiring highly active electrocatalysts to shrink the reaction energy barrier and improve the energy conversion efficiency. In this study, In-situ generated trimetallic molybdate nanoflowers on Ni foam by a straightforward and time-saving solvothermal method assisted with microwave, not only bring synergistic effect into full play between multiple metals, but also construct a well-defined nanoflower-like structure accompanied by larger specific area (273.3 m2  g-1 ) and smaller size than the pristine NiMoO4 . The resulting Ni0.9 Al0.1 MoO4 -NF requires a relatively low overpotential of 266 mV for OER at 10 mA cm-2 , which outperforms commercial RuO2 catalysts (274 mV).   • Walking on split-belt treadmills (each belt rotating at a different velocity) has inspired a growing number of researchers to study gait adaptation and rehabilitation. An overlooked peculiarity of this artificial form of gait is that the mean velocity adopted by the participant, considered as a whole system represented by the body Center of Mass, can be different from the mean velocity of the two belts. Twelve healthy adults (21-34 yrs) were requested to walk for 15 mins on a treadmill with belts rotating at 0.4 and 1.2 m sec-1, respectively (mean = 0.8 m sec-1). Each belt was supported by four 3-dimensional force sensors. For each participant, six strides were analyzed during the 1st and the 15th minute of the trial. The mean Center of Mass velocity was computed as the sum of the velocities of each belt weighted by the percentage of time during which the resulting forces, underlying the accelerations of the Center of Mass, originated from each belt. Across early and late observations, the median Center of s of each belt weighted by the percentage of time during which the resulting forces, underlying the accelerations of the Center of Mass, originated from each belt. Across early and late observations, the median Center of Mass velocities were 0.72 and 0.67 m sec-1, respectively (P less then 0.05).     The aim of this study was to investigate the interrater reliability and intrarater reliability of the flexor pollicis longus muscle stretch reflex (FPLR) and compare it with clinically established reflexes.

    A total of 71 healthy volunteers participated. The FPLR, biceps reflex, brachioradialis reflex, and patellar tendon reflex of each participant were tested bilaterally and rated by eight examiners (four experienced, four inexperienced). For intrarater reliability evaluation, five examiners rated the reflexes of four volunteers at four different points in time.

    Analysis of the interrater reliability with Gwet's AC1 demonstrated almost perfect agreement for FPLR (Gwet's AC1 = 0.90), biceps reflex (Gwet's AC1 = 0.90), and patellar tendon reflex (Gwet's AC1 = 0.95) when using binary data (reflex present vs. absent). Only fair agreement was found for the brachioradialis reflex (Gwet's AC1 = 0.56). However, the use of T as a therapeutic agent in oncology is limited by poor drug-like properties as well as rapid and variable metabolism. Here, we investigated the antitumor effects of selective AR modulators (SARMs), which are small-molecule nonsteroidal AR agonists developed to treat muscle wasting and cachexia.     Studies have shown that religiosity (R) and spirituality (S) can positively impact older adults' life. Nevertheless, no validated tools for measuring these constructs in the older Italian population are currently available. This study investigates the psychometric properties of two of the most common measures of R and S in the literature the Francis Scale of Attitude toward Christianity short form (FSACsf) and the Behavioral Religiosity Scale (BRS).

    313 older Italians completed the questionnaires anonymously. The functioning of the items and the response scales, the factor structure, age invariance and internal consistency of both scales were investigated.

    Each scale defines a substantively unidimensional variable. Moreover, items seem, on the whole, to be well formulated. The values of the Rasch-Andrich thresholds suggest that the response scale of the FSACsf was adequate for measuring spirituality. However, this was not the case for BRS, where the response categories needed to be collapsed to measure behavioral religiosity properly. Age invariance was confirmed for each scale. Cronbach's α, composite reliability and person separation reliability revealed both scales to be internally consistent.

    The evidence of rt-PA intravenous thrombolysis in patients with minor ischemic stroke (MIS) is still controversial. This study aims to investigate the effect of rt-PA intravenous thrombolysis on the prognosis of patients with MIS.
    We continuously enrolled and analyzed patients with MIS admitted into our hospital within 24h after symptom onset between January 2016 and December 2018, including 96 patients received intravenous thrombolysis within 4.5h after symptom onset and 84 patients not received intravenous thrombolysis. A favorable long-term outcome was a 90-day mRS score of 0-1. Good short-term outcome was a 7-day NIHSS score of 0 or less than NIHSS onset.

A supportive campus culture that promotes social connectedness and meaningful engagement may amplify wellness and prevent suicide. This study explored whether involvement in extracurricular activities was associated with wellness and suicide ideation and non-fatal suicidal behavior through perceived social support and meaningfulness.

We continuously enrolled and analyzed patients with MIS admitted into our hospital within 24h after symptom onset between January 2016 and December 2018, including 96 patients received intravenous thrombolysis within 4.5h after symptom onset and 84 patients not received intravenous thrombolysis. A favorable long-term outcome was a 90-day mRS score of 0-1. Good short-term outcome was a 7-day NIHSS score of 0 or less than NIHSS onset. The call rate, mammography (MG) subsequent screen rate, biopsy rate, detection rate, early diagnosis rate, carcinoma in situ rate, missing detection rate, false positive rate and positive predictive value (PPV) of breast cancer were calculated. Results A total of 1 501 753 rural women attended the BUS process optimization screening. The nationwide recall rate was 3.01%(45 156/1 501 753), and in the eastern and central area were 3.41%(17 173/503 130) and 3.56%(14 499/407 739), respectively, higher than 2.28% (13 484/590 884) of western area (P less then 0.05). The nationwide MG subsequent screen rate was 2.2%(31/1 281). The nationwide early diagnosis rate was 85.25%(1 092/1 281), and in the eastern and central areas were 87.95%(343/390) and 88.21%(374/424), higher than 80.30%(375/467) of western area (P less then 0.05). The screening rate of on or above stage Ⅱ breast cancer in eastern area was 55.64%(217/390), lower than 64.62%(374/424) of central area and 62.31%(291/467) of western area. The missing detection rate was 0.62%(8/1 281) and false positive rate was 1.20%(17 528/1 464 149). Conclusions The BUS process optimization of breast cancer screening scheme is reasonable and applicable to China rural women.   • Three small-molecule acceptors (Por-PDI, TEHPor-PDI, and BBOPor-PDI) with different side chains were synthesized by using a porphyrin core as the electron-donating unit and connecting electron-withdrawing perylene diimide dimers via acetylene bridges. The bulk heterojunction organic solar cells based on the three acceptors and a polymer donor provided power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of 3.68-5.21 % when the active layers were fabricated with pyridine additives. Though the synthesis of Por-PDI is easier with fewer reaction steps and higher yields, the devices based on Por-PDI showed the best performance with a PCE of 5.21 %. The more ordered intermolecular packing due to the reduced steric hindrance at the porphyrin core of Por-PDI could contribute to the more balanced hole/electron mobilities, higher maximum charge generation rate, and less bimolecular recombination in Por-PDI devices, which are beneficial for the higher PCE.
    Respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) and ventilation-induced lung injury lead to significant morbidity in preterm infants. High-frequency oscillatory ventilation with volume-guarantee (HFOV-VG) has been used as a rescue therapy and might lead to lower rates of death and bronchopulmonary dysplasia, especially when using low tidal volumes and high frequencies. The aim of the study was to define HFOV-VG parameters leading to adequate ventilation in the first 72 h of preterm RDS using a low volume and high-frequency strategy.

    Retrospective cohort study in a tertiary-level neonatology unit. Infants <32 weeks with severe respiratory insufficiency needing HFOV-VG were included. Patients were ventilated following a standard mechanical ventilation aiming for low tidal volumes and high frequencies. Clinical data, perinatal characteristics and high-frequency parameters corresponding with adequate ventilation were recorded.
