This column examines a 2020 decision of the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory, Millard v Australian Capital Territory [2020] ACTSC 138, which dealt with a dispute concerning a brain dead pregnant woman and whether treatment to sustain her body should have been continued to save the life of her fetus. The column compares the case to other cases from overseas jurisdictions to examine the question of whether there is any jurisdiction which would authorise the continuation of care in such circumstances.The use of physical, mechanical and/or chemical restraint is authorised by mental health legislation in most Australian jurisdictions. Research indicates that women have different experiences and needs in relation to the use of restraint, but legislation does not mention sex or gender as relevant considerations in the authorisation, use or monitoring of these practices. This is especially problematic in light of the potential for restraint use to traumatise, or retraumatise, women service users. This section discusses the treatment of gender- and trauma-related considerations in Australian mental health legislation and supporting policy, pointing to several gaps and proposing appropriate changes to practice and regulation.With the increasing role of technology in health care the clinical environment is becoming more complex and it is important to recognise that there is now a significant commercial player on the clinical stage. The relationship between the patient and the manufacturers/distributers of this technology is not a clinical one, neither is it necessarily a traditional consumer one as there is an absence of direct interaction. When the patient suffers harm as a result of faulty technology, they understandably seek recompense for that harm; and while the traditional approach of negligence law is open to them, there is also a role for consumer law. This column explores three high-profile decisions in which consumer law was applied to instances of patient harm and asks the question whether, at the intersection of technology and health care, consumer law represents a shift in focus, a panacea or a confounder.The influential Victorian appellate judgment of R v Verdins [2007] VSCA 102 provided a sentencing framework for "impaired mental functioning" not only in Victoria but in other Australian jurisdictions. Following the judgment of Director of Public Prosecutions (Vic) v O'Neill (2015) 47 VR 395; [2015] VSCA 325, it appeared that personality disorders were not considered within the scope of the Verdins principles. It contends that this combination of high-profile judgments has breathed substance and significance into the right to the highest attainable standard of health, the entitlement to be treated with dignity and the right to life at a time when these rights may assume additional importance in the context of the availability and accessibility of vaccines for the COVID-19 virus.The application progress of machine learning in research of acupuncture and moxibustion was reviewed from three aspects mining of acupuncture and moxibustion prescription and indications, acupuncture efficacy prediction and its influencing factors, acupoint specificity and acupuncture manipulation research, and the existing problems in current research and future research trends were discussed. It is believed that the appropriate machine learning algorithm should be selected to build the model according to the research purpose and data characteristics in the future research; attention should be paid to feature design, feature selection and feature cleaning; sample data collection should be a priority, and data sharing platform and standardized data collection should be developed to improve the data quality.
To analyze the rules of acupoint selection in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease in China using data mining technology.
The published literature of treating gastroesophageal reflux disease with acupuncture was retrieved from electronic databases from January 1, 1983 to December 1, 2019, including SinoMed, CNKI, Wanfang and VIP database. Acupuncture prescription database was established, and the rules of acupoint selection were explored by statistical software SPSS 20.0 and SPSS Modeler 18.0.
A total of 92 articles were included into this analysis, involving 92 acupuncture prescriptions, 76 acupoints. The total frequency of using these acupoints reached 549 times. Zhongwan (CV 12) was the most frequently used acupoint; the often selected meridians were conception vessel, stomach meridian, governor vessel, bladder meridian; the acupoints located at the abdomen, lower limbs and **** were commonly selected; crossing points in the specific acupoints were commonly selected; the most frequently used group was Zusanli (ST 36)-Zhongwan (CV 12) and Neiguan (PC 6).

eIF4A is a DEAD box containing RNA helicase that plays crucial roles in regulating translation initiation, growth and abiotic stress tolerance in plants. It also functions as an ATP-dependent RNA binding protein to curb granule formation by limiting RNA-RNA interactions that promote RNA condensation and formation of ribonucleoprotein particles in vivo. Helicase activity of eIF4A is known to be dictated by its binding partners. In this study, using different protein-protein interaction methods, targeted gene knockout strategy and quantitative expression analysis we show genetic interaction between PpeIF4A1 and the putative nucleosome remodeler protein PpDDM1 and between PpDDM1 and PpLIF2L1 in vivo. Stress-induced co-expression of PpeIF4A1, PpDDM1 and PpLIF2L1, their roles in salt stress tolerance and differences in subnuclear distribution of PpLIF2L1 in ppeif4a1 cells in comparison to wild type suggest existence of a regulatory network comprising of RNA helicases, chromatin remodelling proteins and hnRNP active in stress-responsive biological processes in P. patens.The 15N-1H heteronuclear single-quantum correlation (HSQC) technique in protein NMR spectroscopy suffers from line-broadening effects, such as chemical exchange of labile protons with solvent, and exchange broadening for residues undergoing conformational dynamics. The amide resonance of β2-microglobulin residue S88 is not observed in the HSQC spectrum but can be obtained through 13C-detect experiments that circumvent the problem of amide-solvent exchange broadening. Line broadening of S88 resonance beyond detection in the HSQC spectrum is not attributed to conformational exchange but rather to solvent exchange occurring on the order of ~103 s-1.The following clinical scenario is a composite case that illustrates clinically important phenomena based on several patients.
Children and adolescents, individuals from racial and ethnic minority groups, and those with mental health conditions may be at greater risk for worsened mental health because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study examined change in mental health from before to during the pandemic among predominantly Hispanic/Latinx adolescents.
A total of 322 young adolescents (mean age= 11.99 years, 55% female and 45% male), with a racial/ethnic composition of 72.7% Hispanic/Latinx, 9.3% Black or African American, 5.9% multiple races, 5.0% Asian, 1.6% White, and 1.2% American Indian, completed a mental health screening measure prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and at 3 time-points beginning 1 month after COVID-19 stay-at-home measures were implemented. A subsample also completed a survey about their experience at home during COVID-19. Repeated-measures mixed analysis of covariance was used to evaluate change in each mental health domain, and whether youths who had elevated symptoms at baseline differed in their level of cha the southwestern United States.
Detentions and suspensions are common practices of school discipline, despite evidence that they are largely ineffective and disproportionately affect children from racial and ethnic minority backgrounds, particularly Black children, and children of lower socioeconomic status. However, few studies have examined suspension and detention rates among race, ethnicity, and family structure (single parent versus secondary caregiver) when controlling for typical behaviors associated with detention and suspension such as externalizing symptoms, age, sex, family income, family education, family conflict, and special education needs.
Caregivers of 11,875 children between ages 9 and 10 years from the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) study completed a questionnaire assessing their child's demographics, family information, emotions and behaviors, and past-year school discipline history. Data were analyzed with logistic regression, implemented with a generalized estimating equations model.
5.4% of childr affect Black children, multiracial Black children, and children from single-parent homes. Racism in elementary school discipline can perpetuate disparities in today's educational system.
The increasing social needs of people with Tuberculosis (TB), and the poor adherence to anti-TB therapy (ATT) associated with homelessness, drug or alcohol abuse, and prison history, led us to introduce a social care team (SCT) to support patient engagement with care within this low TB incidence setting.
Using a risk assessment, patients with social risk factors (SRF) for non-adherence to ATT are identified and a referral made to the SCT, who then provide intensive casework support for areas including homelessness, housing, benefits, debt and immigration. Retrospective data analysis of the social care database from 2017 to 2019 was conducted. Patients who were (n = 170) and were not referred to the SCT (n = 734) were compared.
Patients referred were significantly more likely to complete treatment for TB than those not (88.2% versus 77.7% respectively, p = 0.0025), irrespective of receipt of Directly/Video Observed Therapy and adjusting for confounders.
This paper demonstrates important evidence for the positive impact of a dedicated SCT within a TB service, and these improved treatment outcomes provide a strong argument for development of similar SCTs within UK TB services and similar healthcare settings.

Early, noninvasive identification of patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) with congestion may allow timely tailoring of decongestive therapies. The 2016 American Society of Echocardiography and European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging guidelines provide an algorithm to assess for elevated left atrial pressure (LAP); the associations of echocardiographic LAP with clinical status and disease progression in patients with HFpEF are unclear.
Participants in the Phosphodiesterase-5 Inhibition to Improve Clinical Status and Exercise Capacity in HFpEF trial were categorized into one of four prespecified guideline-based echocardiographic LAP categories (1) normal, (2) elevated, (3) atrial fibrillation (AF) at the time of echocardiography, or (4) indeterminate. Associations of echocardiographic LAP categories with baseline exercise capacity, change in exercise capacity, and change in N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide over 24weeks were evaluated.
Of 216 participants, 1 HFpEF, elevated echocardiographic LAP and indeterminate echocardiographic LAP, as defined by contemporary guidelines, and AF were each independently associated with a reduction in exercise capacity compared with normal echocardiographic LAP. These findings suggest the potential utility of noninvasive LAP assessment in patients with HFpEF for tailoring treatments that decrease congestion.
In patients with chronic HFpEF, elevated echocardiographic LAP and indeterminate echocardiographic LAP, as defined by contemporary guidelines, and AF were each independently associated with a reduction in exercise capacity compared with normal echocardiographic LAP. These findings suggest the potential utility of noninvasive LAP assessment in patients with HFpEF for tailoring treatments that decrease congestion.Mitochondrial enzymes are targets of newly synthesized drugs being tested for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease (AD). The enzyme 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 10 (HSD10) is a multifunctional mitochondrial protein that is thought to play a role in the pathophysiology of AD and is one of the targets of new potential AD drugs. The in vitro effects of frentizole, riluzole, AG18051, and 42 novel modulators of HSD10 (potential AD drugs) on citrate synthase (CS) activity, monoamine oxidase (MAO) activity, complex I- or complex II-linked mitochondrial respiratory rate, and complex I activity were measured in isolated pig brain mitochondria. Based on their minimal inhibitory effects on the respiratory rate of mitochondria and CS and complex I activity, six novel compounds were selected for further testing. Assuming that inhibition of MAO-B could be a desirable effect of AD drugs, only AG18051 and one new compound met the criteria for MAO-B inhibition with minimal drug-induced effects on mitochondrial respiration. In conclusion, our in vitro screening of mitochondrial effect of novel potential AD drugs has enabled the selection of the most promising molecules for further testing that are relatively safe in terms of drug-induced mitochondrial toxicity.The progressive loss of dopaminergic (DA) neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNpc) correlates with rupture of lysosome in Parkinson's disease (PD). It has been found that TP53-induced glycolysis and apoptosis regulator (TIGAR) has been attributed to the regulation of metabolic pathways and neuroprotective effect. In the present study, we showed in a mouse model that 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1, 2, 3, 6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) caused lysosomal damage and DA neurons loss in the SNpc. MPTP only induced SP1-mediated TIGAR upregulation in the early stage of neurotoxin-induced pathology, and this compensatory mechanism was not enough to maintain normal lysosomal function. MPTP significantly decreased the levels of NADPH and GSH, and the effects were ameliorated by the expression of exogenous TIGAR but execerbated by knockdown of TIAGR. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/etc-1002.html TIGAR or NADPH alleviated oxidative stress, rescued lysosomal dysfunction and attenuated DA neurons degeneration. In adjusted models, sexual minority adolescents had greater odds of ever smoking tobacco (odds ratio [OR]=2.06; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.42-2.98) or using e-cigarettes (OR=1.55; 95% CI 1.08-2.25) relative to heterosexual adolescents. Past-month tobacco smoking and e-cigarette use did not differ by sexual identity. Among participants who had never used tobacco products, sexual minority adolescents reported greater susceptibility to e-cigarette use (OR=1.62; 95% CI 1.04-2.52) compared to heterosexual adolescents. Exposure to cigarette and e-cigarette marketing, e-cigarette use by friends, and respondent sex were significant covariates in all models. Early, noninvasive identification of patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) with congestion may allow timely tailoring of decongestive therapies. The 2016 American Society of Echocardiography and European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging guidelines provide an algorithm to assess for elevated left atrial pressure (LAP); the associations of echocardiographic LAP with clinical status and disease progression in patients with HFpEF are unclear. Participants in the Phosphodiesterase-5 Inhibition to Improve Clinical Status and Exercise Capacity in HFpEF trial were categorized into one of four prespecified guideline-based echocardiographic LAP categories (1) normal, (2) elevated, (3) atrial fibrillation (AF) at the time of echocardiography, or (4) indeterminate. Associations of echocardiographic LAP categories with baseline exercise capacity, change in exercise capacity, and change in N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide over 24weeks were evaluated. Based on their minimal inhibitory effects on the respiratory rate of mitochondria and CS and complex I activity, six novel compounds were selected for further testing. In the present study, we showed in a mouse model that 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1, 2, 3, 6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) caused lysosomal damage and DA neurons loss in the SNpc. MPTP only induced SP1-mediated TIGAR upregulation in the early stage of neurotoxin-induced pathology, and this compensatory mechanism was not enough to maintain normal lysosomal function. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of surgical techniques and physician- and patient-reported outcomes of gender-affirming clitoral release and metoidioplasty (PROSPERO# 158722) with literature from PubMed, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect. Shrinking lung syndrome (SLS), a rare complication of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) characterized by dyspnea, low lung volumes, and a restrictive pattern on pulmonary function tests (PFTs), has only been reported in a few children. Given the rarity of SLS there is a paucity of literature regarding its optimal treatment. Outcomes are variable, with case reports documenting some improvement in most patients treated with corticosteroids, with or without additional immunosuppressive agents. However, most reported patients did not recover normal lung function. We report full recovery of a child with SLE and SLS following treatment with rituximab and review the current literature.
An 11-year-old boy presented with a malar rash, myositis, arthritis, oral ulcers, leukopenia, anemia, positive lupus autoantibodies and Class II nephritis. He was diagnosed with SLE and treated with corticosteroids, hydroxychloroquine, azathioprine, and subsequently mycophenolate with symptom resolution. Children's activity patterns in the periods before and after school make a key contribution to achieving 24-h movement guidelines. There are currently no national-level guidelines informing physical activity and screen time practices in Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) programs anywhere in the world. This study aimed to work with industry, government and academic stakeholders to develop draft physical activity and screen time guidelines for use in Australian OSHC.
A 4-round online Delphi survey was conducted from May 2019 to January 2020. The Delphi participants included national and international experts and stakeholders from academia, education, government, health and the OSHC sectors. Round 1 consisted of open-ended questions exploring physical activity, screen time and sedentary behaviour in various periods of OSHC (before school, after school and vacation care). In rounds 2 and 3, participants rated the importance of items generated from the first round for inclusion in national guidelines using a Li This world-first expert and stakeholder consultation has underpinned the development of the draft Australian guidelines for physical activity and screen time in OSHC. Ongoing work is needed to further refine the guidelines, determine current rates of compliance with the guidelines and implement the guidelines into practice.

Currently, there are limited reports regarding investigation of the biological properties of polyetheretherketone (PEEK) coated with titanium (Ti) and hydroxyapatite (HA) in human. The objective of this study is to evaluate the in vivo response of the PEEK cages coated with Ti and HA versus uncoated PEEK cages after anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) in patients with single-level cervical degenerative disc disease (CDDD).
Twenty-four patients with PEEK cages coated with Ti and HA (PEEK/Ti/HA group) were matched one-to-one with patients with uncoated PEEK cages (PEEK group) based on age, gender, and operative segment. All patients had been followed up for more than 2years. Radiological assessments included intervertebral height (IH), C2-7 angle (C2-7a), segmental alignment (SA), and fusion rate. Clinical parameters included Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) scores.
There was no statistical difference in SA, IH, and C2-7a between the two groups before and afcage yielded similar favorable segmental and overall cervical lordosis, IH, and clinical outcomes after the surgery.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin are used for the treatment of cardiovascular disease. Chronic use of low-dose aspirin is associated with the occurrence of gastric ulcer. The aim of this study was to investigate the healing potential of Lycium barbarum polysaccharides (LBP) from Chinese Goji berry and C-phycocyanin (CPC) from Spirulina platensis on gastric ulcer in rats.
Male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into five groups normal, aspirin (700mg/kg bw), LBP (aspirin + 100mg/kg bw/d LBP), CPC (aspirin + 50mg/kg bw/d CPC), and MIX (aspirin + 50mg/kg bw/d LBP + 25mg/kg bw/d CPC) groups. Gastric ulcer was developed by daily oral feeding of aspirin for 8weeks. Treatments were given orally a week before ulcer induction for 9weeks.
The MIX group elevated gastric cyclooxygenase-1, prostaglandin E
, and total nitrite and nitrate levels by 139%, 86%, and 66%, respectively, compared with the aspirin group (p < 0.05). Moreover, the MIX group reduced lipid peroxides malondialdehyde levels by 78% (p < 0.05). The treatment of LBP and/or CPC increased gastric Bifidobacterium relative abundance by 2.5-4.0 times compared with the aspirin group (p < 0.05).

Shrinking lung syndrome (SLS), a rare complication of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) characterized by dyspnea, low lung volumes, and a restrictive pattern on pulmonary function tests (PFTs), has only been reported in a few children. Given the rarity of SLS there is a paucity of literature regarding its optimal treatment. Outcomes are variable, with case reports documenting some improvement in most patients treated with corticosteroids, with or without additional immunosuppressive agents. However, most reported patients did not recover normal lung function. We report full recovery of a child with SLE and SLS following treatment with rituximab and review the current literature. The objective of this study is to evaluate the in vivo response of the PEEK cages coated with Ti and HA versus uncoated PEEK cages after anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) in patients with single-level cervical degenerative disc disease (CDDD). Twenty-four patients with PEEK cages coated with Ti and HA (PEEK/Ti/HA group) were matched one-to-one with patients with uncoated PEEK cages (PEEK group) based on age, gender, and operative segment. All patients had been followed up for more than 2years. Radiological assessments included intervertebral height (IH), C2-7 angle (C2-7a), segmental alignment (SA), and fusion rate. The aim of this study was to investigate the healing potential of Lycium barbarum polysaccharides (LBP) from Chinese Goji berry and C-phycocyanin (CPC) from Spirulina platensis on gastric ulcer in rats. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into five groups normal, aspirin (700mg/kg bw), LBP (aspirin + 100mg/kg bw/d LBP), CPC (aspirin + 50mg/kg bw/d CPC), and MIX (aspirin + 50mg/kg bw/d LBP + 25mg/kg bw/d CPC) groups. Gastric ulcer was developed by daily oral feeding of aspirin for 8weeks. Treatments were given orally a week before ulcer induction for 9weeks. The MIX group elevated gastric cyclooxygenase-1, prostaglandin E , and total nitrite and nitrate levels by 139%, 86%, and 66%, respectively, compared with the aspirin group (p < 0.05). Moreover, the MIX group reduced lipid peroxides malondialdehyde levels by 78% (p < 0.05). The treatment of LBP and/or CPC increased gastric Bifidobacterium relative abundance by 2.5-4.0 times compared with the aspirin group (p < 0.05). In-depth analyses of the electroluminescence spectra indicate that the spectral shifting rate is dependent on the drift velocity of halides. Finally, it is suggested from our study that the dominant red emission is ascribed to the thermodynamically favorable selective hole injection. Mature cystic teratoma originating in the pancreas is very unusual, often observed as an incidental finding during routine examinations or recognized perioperatively as the patients present with very unspecific clinical symptoms. The confirmatory diagnosis of a pancreatic cystic teratoma is generally made by histopathology after surgical excision. So, the preoperative diagnosis is very challenging, especially differentiation from the other pancreatic pathologies.
A 23-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with a complaint of mild grade periumbilical abdominal pain. A pancreatic mass was revealed on a preliminary abdominal ultrasound examination. Her medical history was unremarkable with no long-standing illness or malignancy.

Some acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients are unresponsive to treatment or have remission followed by worsening of disease (known as relapsed/refractory AML [R/RAML]) after standardized treatment. The CAG/*** regimen is not often used clinically because heterogenous patient responses, resistance, and hematopoietic bone marrow dysfunction have been reported with its use. We present 2 cases of R/RAML treated with a new combined therapy (venetoclax+ hypomethylating agents [HMAs]) in which the *** dose was adjusted and effective in the first course of treatment.
Case 1 involved a 23-year-old man who had suffered from AML for >4 years, and his FLT3 mutation status was positive at the initial diagnosis. After the first course of treatment with the standard-dose "Da" plan, the patient experienced complete remission. During the subsequent courses of treatment, the patient experienced 6 recurrences and was treated with the "ID Ara-C + MIT + sidaaniline" and "CAG + sidaaniline" regimens. However, the disease did not respond. Case 2 involved a 26-year-old man who received chemotherapy with the "Da," "ID Ara-C," "decitabine + half-dose CAG," and "HAE" regimens. In this patients, remission could not be achieved. Reintroduction of the "ia" scheme also failed after treatment in our hospital.
Two patients were diagnosed with R/RAML.
The patient in case 2 received chemotherapy interventions, whereas the patient in case 1 refused to receive medical services at our hospital.
The patient in case 1 was discharged after complete response treatment due to economic reasons and relapsed 2 months later. The patient ultimately died of infection and heart failure. The patient in case 2 is receiving a second cycle of chemotherapy.

Granular cell tumor of the breast (GCTB) is a benign rare tumor. There are limited reports on its imaging manifestations. GCTB is often misdiagnosed as breast cancer, which results in unnecessary radical mastectomy and excessive treatment. In this article, we have reported a case of a 56-year-old postmenopausal woman with GCTB and highlighted the imaging features to differentiate this rare tumor from breast cancer.
A 56-year-old postmenopausal patient had a chief complaint of a subcutaneous nodule in the upper outer quadrant of her right breast for 2 months. She underwent physical examination, color Doppler ultrasonography, mammography, magnetic resonance, and postoperative pathology.
The final diagnosis was GCTB. The tumor cells were intermingled with the fibrous stroma and normal breast parenchyma and showed positive immunoreaction to S-100, CD68, and neuron-specific enolase.
The patient underwent lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy.
The patient recovered well after lumpectomy and had no complications during the 2-year follow-up.

We present 2 cases of R/RAML treated with a new combined therapy (venetoclax+ hypomethylating agents [HMAs]) in which the HAG dose was adjusted and effective in the first course of treatment. Case 1 involved a 23-year-old man who had suffered from AML for >4 years, and his FLT3 mutation status was positive at the initial diagnosis. After the first course of treatment with the standard-dose "Da" plan, the patient experienced complete remission. During the subsequent courses of treatment, the patient experienced 6 recurrences and was treated with the "ID Ara-C + MIT + sidaaniline" and "CAG + sidaaniline" regimens. However, the disease did not respond. Case 2 involved a 26-year-old man who received chemotherapy with the "Da," "ID Ara-C," "decitabine + half-dose CAG," and "HAE" regimens. In this article, we have reported a case of a 56-year-old postmenopausal woman with GCTB and highlighted the imaging features to differentiate this rare tumor from breast cancer. A 56-year-old postmenopausal patient had a chief complaint of a subcutaneous nodule in the upper outer quadrant of her right breast for 2 months. She underwent physical examination, color Doppler ultrasonography, mammography, magnetic resonance, and postoperative pathology. The final diagnosis was GCTB. The tumor cells were intermingled with the fibrous stroma and normal breast parenchyma and showed positive immunoreaction to S-100, CD68, and neuron-specific enolase. The patient underwent lumpectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy. OBJECTIVE The aim is to investigate the influence of sambo wrestling classes on the level of morpho-functional development and health of students during their studying. PATIENTS AND METHODS Materials and methods The investigation was conducted in Zhytomyr National Agroecological University in 2017-2019. Ninety four students (51 male and 43 female) took part in the research. Two experimental and two control groups were formed EG1 (n=25) and CG1 (n=26) involved male students, EG2 (n=21) and CG2 (n=22) - female students. The classes of EG were held according to the authors' methodology, the classes of CG - according to the current physical education program. The analysis of the indicators of weight, height, lungs capacity, handgrip test, heart rate, blood pressure, body mass index, life index, power index and Robinson's index was performed. The interrelation of students of EG and CG was defined according to the health levels at the beginning and at the end of the investigation. RESULTS Results It is determined that sambo wrestling classes had a positive influence on the students' muscles system improvement, increased lung capacity, reduced body mass, improved cardiovascular system, and improved health. RESULTS Results In tissue extracts from tonsils with CT, there is a predominance of inflammation factors, potential sensitization, and the development of immunopathological reactions. High levels of interleukin-4 may indicate that both HPT and CT have a tendency to increase sensitization to microbial and other antigens. Specialties of the blood vessels in normal pregnancy were investigated, and their structural transformation with the developement of preeclampsia, according to the appearence of perinatal pathology. Morphometrical data of the blood stream was investigated with the help of eyepiece and program Image Tools 3,6. RESULTS Results Significant decrease of weight (p less then 0,05), square and volume of placenta was common to early preeclampsia, comparing to the same characteristics in late Preeclampsia (PE). Specific gravity of villi without vessels, hardened blood vessels, hardened villi and fibrinoid altered vessels was increased statistically significantly (p less then 0,05) in placenta of women with early PE, comparing to women with late PE. The number of effective blood vessels crossings was determined mostly in late PE, comparing to the early form (p less then 0,05). Found out significant defferences (p less then 0,05) in changes of hystovasoarchitecture of placenta in early preeclampsia, according to the number of immature villi and villi with no signs of compensatory angiomatosis. CONCLUSION Conclusions The introduced methodical system of fitness technologies application contributed to increase of the level of students' preparedness by criteria of organizational, communicative, perceptual, speech abilities to fitness technologies, general cultural level, social activity and their involvement in healthy lifestyle. Molybdenum dioxide-gadolinium-arginine/glycine/aspartic acid (MoS₂-Gd-RGD) sequences targeting nano-contrast agents that specifically bind to human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) HepG₂ cells were synthesized, and their targeting imaging effects on HCC cells and models were evaluated. Zeta potential, particle size and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FTIR) were used to characterize the nano-contrast agent, and its cytotoxicity was evaluated. The MoS₂-Gd nanoparticles were used as control in vitro to determine the targeting capability of the MoS₂-Gd-RGD nanoparticles toward integrin αvβ₃. During in vivo animal experiments, 12 nude **** with tumors were randomly divided into three groups to compare the imaging effects of the MoS₂-Gd-RGD and MoS₂-Gd groups. Methods Allergen component-resolved diagnosis detection technology was used to detect the serum levels of specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE) to D. pteronyssinus allergen components (Der p 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, and 23) in patients who were sensitized to D. pteronyssinus and with AR (n = 106), AS (n = 144), or AR combined with AS (n = 134). Methods Allergen component-resolved diagnosis detection technology was used to detect the serum levels of specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE) to D. pteronyssinus allergen components (Der p 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, and 23) in patients who were sensitized to D. pteronyssinus and with AR (n = 106), AS (n = 144), or AR combined with AS (n = 134). Objective This study was carried out to determine the use of periostin and TARC as biomarkers in asthma and to compare the superiority of one over the other, especially in asthma with an eosinophilic phenotype. Methods The study was conducted with 87 patients with asthma and 42 healthy control subjects. Patients with asthma were also divided into eosinophilic and non-eosinophilic phenotypes. A pulmonary function test was performed in all the participants, and serum and induced sputum TARC, periostin concentrations, eosinophils, and total immunoglobulin E values were examined. Results TARC and periostin levels were significantly higher in the asthma group than in the control group (p less then 0.001).
