The seeds of Caesalpinia minax Hance have shown anti-tumor potential, while the chemical principle is still unknown. In a search for anti-tumor compounds, six new cassane-type diterpenoids, 12-demethylcaesalpin G (1), caesalpinolide H (2), 12-demethylcaesalpin H (3), caesalpinolide J (4), 12-O-ethyl neocaesalpin B (5), and 3-deacetyldecapetpene B (6), were isolated from the seeds of C. minax Hance, along with fifteen known analogues. The structures of the new compounds were established by means of spectroscopic techniques (NMR, HRESIMS and IR). The absolute configurations of the new compounds were determined by their ECD spectra. All of the new compounds were tested for their anti-proliferative activity against human lung cancer A549 cells, breast cancer MCF-7 cells, and ovarian cancer HEY cells. The results indicated that only compound 6 displayed moderate cytotoxicity against three cancer cell lines. Thus, the opening of furan ring in cassane-type diterpenoids might enhance the cytotoxic activity.Chemical investigation of the Vietnamese plant Aegiceras floridum Roem. & Schult. Background This study aimed to examine whether genotype categories of high-risk human papillomaviruses (HR-HPVs), when divided into HPV16/18, HPV 31/33/45/52/58, and HPV35/39/51/56/59/68, had an effect on the time required for and the proportion of cases that progressed to cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) grade 3 among women with CIN2. Patients A total of 160 women aged 20-49 years and having CIN2 were recruited between January 2008 and June 2018. The time required for progression to CIN3 was determined by Kaplan-Meier time-to-event analysis. HPV genotypes were determined using the Linear Array HPV genotyping test. Results During an average follow-up time of 22 months, 62 (39%) women with CIN2 progressed to CIN3, whereas 34 (21%) eliminated HR-HPVs and became cytologically normal. The majority (63%) of the women harboring HPV16/18 progressed to CIN3 with a 50% progression time of 11 months, whereas 26% of those harboring HPV31/33/45/52/58 progressed to CIN3 with a 50% progression time of 70 months. Conclusion For every patient diagnosed with CIN2, genotyping to distinguish HPV16/18 from other HR-HPVs should be performed. Therefore, electing a surgical treatment, such as conization, should be considered as the primary option for women who are positive for HPV16/18, particularly when they are likely to be lost for follow-up or are 40 years old or older. In contrast, follow-up cytology should be repeated every 12 months for women harboring non-16/18 HR-HPVs. Preoperative planning was performed using three-dimensional imaging software. The synthetic bone was placed in a sample holder. After the stem was implanted into the synthetic bone, computed tomography imaging was performed. The contact sites between the stem and the cortical part of the synthetic bone were examined using the imaging software. Subsequently, thermoelastic stress measurements were performed on the sample. Results The results of thermoelastic stress analysis indicated a minimum change in the sum of principal stresses [Δ (σ1+σ2)] on the medial side and a maximum change in the sum of principal stresses on the lateral side. Thus, no minimum change was observed in the sum of the principal stresses at the maximum proximal part. It is reasonable to assume that the use of a cementless stem can inevitably lead to bone atrophy in the proximal part of the femur. The contact sites between the stem and femur were also investigated, and the results of the study clearly and quantitatively demonstrated the correlation of the contact sites with a range of stress distributions. Conclusion The surface stress distribution of a femur, in which a BiCONTACT E stem was inserted, was clarified. The contact sites between the stem and femur were also investigated. Results Thirty-nine patients were diagnosed with suspected sarcoidosis due to the absence of at least a two-system involvement; two patients had insufficient laboratory data suggestive of sarcoidosis. Six patients moved from suspected sarcoidosis to a histological diagnosis because of a greater leniency in the criteria for supportive findings. The 2015 diagnostic criteria excluded patients with organ involvement without a requirement for systemic steroids from the clinical diagnosis group. A case of schwannoma, erroneously placed in the clinical diagnosis group by the 2006 criteria, was reclassified according to the 2015 criteria. Conclusion The 2015 version is preferable for clinically diagnosing sarcoidosis, even without histological specimens, and provides guidance for indications for systemic treatment.Objective Pulmonary mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) disease is increasing significantly worldwide. Patients and Methods Of the 323 consecutive Japanese patients newly diagnosed with pulmonary ****disease at Jichi Medical University Hospital between and 2006-2017, we retrospectively reviewed 79 consecutive patients with cancer. Results Seventeen patients had lung cancer (21.0%), while 62 had non-lung cancer. Of the 17 patients with lung cancer, 16 had adenocarcinoma of which 10 had stage I to III disease; 8 of the 10 patients had not received chemotherapy. Sixteen patients with lung cancer had a ****infection in the ipsilateral lung. Notably, 9 of the 11 lung cancer patients who did not undergo surgery had a ****infection in the affected lobe.

Experience of an earlier environment plays an important role in the induction of delayed and even intergenerational phenotypes of an organism. Evidence suggests that rapid adaptation to an environmental stressor can change the performance of organisms, and even enable them to deal with other stressors. The goal of this study was to determine the effects of adult imidacloprid exposure on life-history traits within and between generations of the cereal aphid, Sitobion avenae, under three developmental conditions constant temperature, 22°C; a low-intensity thermal condition, 22 + 34°C for 2h per day; and a high-intensity thermal condition, 22 + 38°C for 2h per day.
Early thermal experience not only changed the tolerance of S. avenae to the insecticide, imidacloprid, but also caused adults to incur fitness costs the higher the heat intensity, the higher the costs. Negative transgenerational impacts of combined heat and insecticide stressors were limited to the developmental stage, whereas positive stimulation of heat intensity was observed during the adult stage. Overall, nymphal thermal experience exacerbated the detrimental effects of adult insecticidal exposure on the intrinsic rate of population increase in the maternal generation, but stimulated a net reproductive rate in the succeeding offspring generation.

The goal of this study was to determine the effects of adult imidacloprid exposure on life-history traits within and between generations of the cereal aphid, Sitobion avenae, under three developmental conditions constant temperature, 22°C; a low-intensity thermal condition, 22 + 34°C for 2h per day; and a high-intensity thermal condition, 22 + 38°C for 2h per day. Early thermal experience not only changed the tolerance of S. avenae to the insecticide, imidacloprid, but also caused adults to incur fitness costs the higher the heat intensity, the higher the costs. Negative transgenerational impacts of combined heat and insecticide stressors were limited to the developmental stage, whereas positive stimulation of heat intensity was observed during the adult stage. Overall, nymphal thermal experience exacerbated the detrimental effects of adult insecticidal exposure on the intrinsic rate of population increase in the maternal generation, but stimulated a net reproductive rate in the succeeding offspring generation. Vasoconstrictors are the treatment of choice for hepatorenal syndrome (HRS), a potentially lethal complication of end-stage liver disease. We evaluate the real-life effectiveness of a sequential vasoconstrictor regimen of midodrine-octreotide followed by norepinephrine in a non-ICU setting in the United States, where terlipressin is not available.
Adult patients diagnosed with HRS were treated with oral midodrine and subcutaneous octreotide in conjunction with albumin. The diagnosis of HRS and definitions of acute kidney injury were based on 2015 guidelines from the International Club of Ascites. A partial response was defined as regression of acute kidney injury (AKI) stage with reduction in serum creatinine to ≥0.3 mg/dL above baseline, whereas a full response was regression of AKI stage with return to a value within 0.3 mg/dL of baseline. In patients without partial or full response, norepinephrine was administered at a starting dose of 5 mcg/min, with a goal to achieve a mean arterial pressure (MAP) o to manage HRS in situations where terlipressin is not an option.

Molecular targeted drugs such as sorafenib are the anti-tumor agents of choice for HCC treatment, but their results are generally unsatisfactory. In the present study the use of Pit-Oct-Unc transcription factor 1 (OCT1/POU2F1) as a potential therapeutic target for HCC was investigated, and a novel small molecular inhibitor of OCT1 (SMIO-1) was designed and its therapeutic efficacy against HCC was assessed. OCT1 expression was higher in HCC specimens than in corresponding non-tumor tissues, and higher OCT1 was associated with poorer prognosis in advanced HCC patients undergoing sorafenib treatment. For the first time, the novel SMIO-1 was investigated in conjunction with OCT1 via molecular docking. Interaction between SMIO-1 and OCT1 was confirmed via OCT1 point mutation. Treatment with SMIO-1 repressed OCT1 transcription factor activation by disrupting the interaction between OCT1 and its cofactors. It also repressed the proliferation and metastasis of HCC cells, and inhibited proliferation-related and metastasis-related genes downstream of OCT1. Therefore, SMIO-1 is a promising strategy for HCC treatment.

Molecular targeted drugs such as sorafenib are the anti-tumor agents of choice for HCC treatment, but their results are generally unsatisfactory. In the present study the use of Pit-Oct-Unc transcription factor 1 (OCT1/POU2F1) as a potential therapeutic target for HCC was investigated, and a novel small molecular inhibitor of OCT1 (SMIO-1) was designed and its therapeutic efficacy against HCC was assessed. OCT1 expression was higher in HCC specimens than in corresponding non-tumor tissues, and higher OCT1 was associated with poorer prognosis in advanced HCC patients undergoing sorafenib treatment. For the first time, the novel SMIO-1 was investigated in conjunction with OCT1 via molecular docking. Interaction between SMIO-1 and OCT1 was confirmed via OCT1 point mutation. Most employees were forced to work from home and take care of their children because schools and daycares were closed. We present data from a research project in a large multinational organisation in the Netherlands with monthly quantitative measurements from January to May 2020 (N = 253-516), enriched with qualitative data from participants' comments before and after telework had started. Growth curve modelling showed major changes in employees' work-related well-being reflected in decreasing work engagement and increasing job satisfaction. For work-non-work balance, workload and autonomy, cubic trends over time were found, reflecting initial declines during crisis onset (March/April) and recovery in May. Participants' additional remarks exemplify that employees struggled with fulfilling different roles simultaneously, developing new routines and managing boundaries between life domains. Moderation analyses demonstrated that demographic variables shaped time trends. The diverging trends in well-being indicators raise intriguing questions and show that close monitoring and fine-grained analyses are needed to arrive at a better understanding of the impact of the crisis across time and among different groups of employees.
Despite liberal abortion laws, safe abortion access in Zambia is impeded by limited legal awareness, lack of services, and restrictive clinical policies. As in many countries with restricted abortion access, women frequently seek abortions informally from pharmacies.
We conducted 16 in-depth interviews in 2019 to understand the experiences and motivations of pharmacy workers who sell medication abortion (MA) drugs in Lusaka.
We found that pharmacy staff reluctantly assume a gatekeeper role for MA due to competing pressures from clients and from regulatory constraints. Pharmacy staff often decide to provide MA, motivated by their duty of care and desire to help clients, as well as financial interests. However, pharmacy workers' motivation to protect themselves from legal and business risk perpetuates inequalities in abortion access, as pharmacy workers improvise additional eligibility criteria based on personal risk and values such as age, partner approval, reason for abortion, and level of desperation.
These findings highlight how pharmacy staff informally determine women's abortion access when laws and policies prevent comprehensive access to safe abortion. Reform of clinical guidelines, public education, strengthened public sector availability, task sharing, and improved access to prescription services are needed to ensure women can legally access safe abortion.

The dental profession has also failed to adequately resolve known issues of racial inequity and systemic racism, with persistent disparities in oral health outcomes for Black Americans compared to all other Americans, underrepresentation of minorities in the profession, and barriers to entry. However, dental education has the opportunity to address these issues. To explore the utility of the International Working Group (IWG)-1 criteria in recruitment for Alzheimer's disease (AD) clinical trials, we applied the more recently proposed research diagnostic criteria to individuals enrolled in a randomized controlled prevention trial (RCT) and assessed their disease progression.
The multinational LipiDiDiet RCT targeted 311 individuals with IWG-1 defined prodromal AD. Based on centrally analyzed baseline biomarkers, participants were classified according to the IWG-2 and National Institute on Aging-Alzheimer's Association (NIA-AA) 2011 and 2018 criteria. Linear mixed models were used to investigate the 2-year change in cognitive and functional performance (Neuropsychological Test Battery NTB Z scores, Clinical Dementia Rating-Sum of Boxes CDR-SB) (criteria × time interactions; baseline score, randomization group, sex, Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), and age also included in the models). Cox models adjusted for randomization group, MMSE, sex, age, and study site woral lobe atrophy; no CSF available).
Despite being less restrictive than the other criteria, the IWG-1 criteria reliably identified individuals with AD pathology. More pragmatic and easily applicable selection criteria might be preferred due to feasibilityin certain situations, e.g., in multidomain prevention trials that do not specifically target β-amyloid/tau pathologies.

To assess the performance of plasma neurofilament light (NfL) and phosphorylated tau 181 (p-tau181) to inform about cerebral Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathology and predict clinical progression in a memory clinic setting.
Plasma NfL and p-tau181, along with established cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers of AD pathology, were measured in participants with normal cognition (CN) and memory clinic patients with cognitive impairment (mild cognitive impairment and dementia, CI). Clinical and neuropsychological assessments were performed at inclusion and follow-up visits at 18 and 36 months. Multivariate analysis assessed associations of plasma NfL and p-tau181 levels with AD, single CSF biomarkers, hippocampal volume, and clinical measures of disease progression.
Plasma NfL levels were higher in CN participants with an AD CSF profile (defined by a CSF p-tau181/Aβ

Previous studies have described sex-based differences in the epidemiological and clinical patterns of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD); however, we understand relatively little regarding the underlying molecular mechanisms. Herein, we present the first systematic review and meta-analysis of NAFLD transcriptomic studies to identify sex-based differences in the molecular mechanisms involved during the steatosis (NAFL) and steatohepatitis (NASH) stages of the disease.
Transcriptomic studies in the Gene Expression Omnibus database were systematically reviewed following the PRISMA statement guidelines. For each study, NAFL and NASH in premenopausal women and men were compared using a dual strategy gene-set analysis and pathway activity analysis. Finally, the functional results of all studies were integrated into a meta-analysis.
We reviewed a total of 114 abstracts and analyzed seven studies that included 323 eligible patients. The meta-analyses identified significantly altered molecular mechanisms logical functions and molecular terms between premenopausal women and men. Differences in immune responsiveness between men and premenopausal women with NAFLD suggest that women possess a more immune tolerant milieu, while men display an impaired liver regenerative response.Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are a new arm of gene regulatory mechanism as discovered by sequencing techniques and follow-up functional studies. The lncRNAs regulation of pseudorabies virus (PRV) infection has rarely been reported so far. Using RNA sequencing analysis, 225 lncRNAs with significant altered expressions in 3D4/21 cells infected with PRV (ZJ01) were identified. Five lncRNAs upregulated in PRV-infected cells were verified in cells infected with different PRV strains by qRT-PCR. By down- and up-regulation of lnc641, the accelerating effect of lnc641 on PRV replication was confirmed. Furthermore, we found that lnc641 regulated PRV replication by inhibiting the JAK-STAT1 pathway. This study suggests that lnc641 could be a new host factor target for developing antiviral therapies against PRV infection.
Neurolymphomatosis is rare. Plasma NfL and p-tau181, along with established cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers of AD pathology, were measured in participants with normal cognition (CN) and memory clinic patients with cognitive impairment (mild cognitive impairment and dementia, CI). Clinical and neuropsychological assessments were performed at inclusion and follow-up visits at 18 and 36 months. Multivariate analysis assessed associations of plasma NfL and p-tau181 levels with AD, single CSF biomarkers, hippocampal volume, and clinical measures of disease progression. Plasma NfL levels were higher in CN participants with an AD CSF profile (defined by a CSF p-tau181/Aβ > 0.0779) as compared with CN non-AD, while p-tau181 plasma levels were higher in CI patients with AD. Plasma NfL levels correlated with CSF tau and p-tau181 in CN, and with CSF tau in CI patients. Plasma p-tau181 correlated with CSF p-tau181 in CN and with CSF tau, p-tau181, Aβ , and Aβ /Aβ in CI participants. Compared with a reference model, adding plasma p-tau181 improved the prediction of AD in CI patients while adding NfL did not. Herein, we present the first systematic review and meta-analysis of NAFLD transcriptomic studies to identify sex-based differences in the molecular mechanisms involved during the steatosis (NAFL) and steatohepatitis (NASH) stages of the disease. Transcriptomic studies in the Gene Expression Omnibus database were systematically reviewed following the PRISMA statement guidelines. For each study, NAFL and NASH in premenopausal women and men were compared using a dual strategy gene-set analysis and pathway activity analysis. Mining is one of the main activities that drive the economy of Brazil. Mining activity is associated with risk of contamination of environment and local fauna by metals. Amphibians have a life cycle that requires a transition between aquatic and terrestrial environments, increasing their vulnerability to metal contamination in the water and substrate. Metals are ubiquitous, with high bioaccumulative and biomagnifying potential, and may lead to immune and endocrine disruption. In this study, we analyzed two different components of the innate immune response, bacterial killing ability (BKA) and phytohemagglutinin edema (PHA), and two stress biomarkers, corticosterone plasma levels (CORT) and the neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NL), of toads (Rhinella diptycha) living in places contaminated by metals. Blood samples were collected pre- and post-restraint (1h), followed by an immune challenge with PHA and tissue collection (liver, spleen, and kidneys). Toads liver metal bioaccumulation did not correlate with the immune response or stress biomarkers. Post-restraint, animals had increased CORT and reduced BKA, independently of the collection site, and these variables were not correlated with liver metal bioaccumulation. Interestingly, toads with the larger spleen (immune organ) showed increased NL post-restraint and greater edema after the PHA challenge. Our results indicate that toads living in metal-contaminated environments responded to acute stressor, activating the hypothalamic-pituitary-interrenal axis and the immune response. The negative impacts of proton pump inhibitor (PPI), including the risk of pneumonia and mortality, have been reported previously. This meta-analysis aimed to address the current interest of whether the administration of PPI could increase the susceptibility and risk of poor outcome in COVID-19.
We performed a systematic literature search from PubMed, Embase, EBSCOhost, and EuropePMC databases up until 3 December 2020. The main outcome was composite poor outcome which comprised of mortality and severe COVID-19. Severe COVID-19 in this study was defined as patients with COVID-19 that fulfill the criteria for severe CAP, including the need for intensive unit care or mechanical ventilation. The secondary outcome was susceptibility, based on cohort comparing COVID-19 positive and COVID-19 negative participants.

In this review, we discuss an interesting case of a patient with changes in microvascular pattern on NCM after pulmonary transplantation. We provide an overview of microvascular alterations in systemic sclerosis and the evidence in the literature about the effect of vasoactive and immunomodulation therapy on these vascular changes. We also outline the influence of pulmonal pathology, such as interstitial lung disease and pulmonary arterial hypertension, on the capillaroscopic pattern, and finally, we discuss how NCM could possibly serve as a biomarker of treatment.
Duodenal polyps and superficial mucosal lesions (DP/SMLs) are poorly characterised.
To describe a series of endoscopically-diagnosed extra-ampullary DPs/SMLs.
This is a retrospective study conducted in a tertiary referral Endoscopy Unit, including patients who had DPs or SMLs that were biopsied or removed in 2010-2019. Age, gender, history of familial polyposis syndromes, DP/SML characteristics were recorded. Histopathological, immunohistochemical and molecular analyses were performed.
399 non-ampullary DP/SMLs from 345 patients (60.6% males; median age 67 years) were identified. Gastric foveolar metaplasia represented the most frequent histotype (193 cases, 48.4%), followed by duodenal adenomas (DAs; 77 cases, 19.3%). Most DAs (median size 6 mm) were sessile (Paris Is; 48%), intestinal-type (96.1%) with low-grade dysplasia (93.5%). We conducted an analysis utilizing data from the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program database from 2007 to 2016. Adult patients who underwent ankle surgery defined as ankle arthrodesis, ankle open reduction and internal fixation, and Achilles tendon repair in the outpatient setting. We examined 6 BMI ranges less then 20 kg/m2 underweight, ≥20 to less then 25 kg/m2 normal weight, ≥25 to less then 30 kg/m2 overweight, ≥30 to less then 40 kg/m2 obese, ≥40 kg/m2to less then 50 kg/m2 severely obese, and ≥50 kg/m2 extremely obese. The primary outcome was hospital admission. We performed multivariable logistic regression and reported odds ratios (OR) and their associated 95% confidence interval (CI) and considered a p value of less then .05 as statistically significant. Data extraction yielded 13,454 adult patients who underwent ambulatory ankle surgery. We then performed listwise deletion to exclude cases with missing observations. After excluding 5.4% of the data, the final study population included 12,729 patients. The overall rate of hospital admission was in the population was 18.6% (2,377/12,729). The overall rate of postoperative complications was 0.03% (4/12,729). We found no significant association of BMI with hospital admission following multivariable logistic regression. We selected 27 ankle specimens of adult cadavers (9 left feet and 18 right feet in 11 males and 16 females; mean age 41.6 years) with the exception of ankle deformities, fractures, underdevelopment and degenerative diseases. In these 27 specimens,15 cases of ATFL were divided into two bundles and 12 cases of ATFL were single bundles. The average ATFL length was 20.31 ± 3.12mm. The center of the ATFL in 11 specimens was located in the calcaneofibular ligament (CFL) foot print area. The long axis of the fibula side stop point was 8.83±1.82 mm, and the short axis was 3.12±0.49 mm. The distance from the center of the ATFL fibula attachment area to the tip of the fibula was 14.22±2.87 mm, and the distance from the center of the CFL is 5.57±1.80mm. The distance from the center of the ATFL talar attachment area to the tibiotalar articular surface was (9.74±2.12) mm, and the distance from the anterior external cartilage surface of the talus was (4.87±1.82) mm. The angle between ATFL and the long axis of the fibula is 78°±12°. Our results suggest that in ATFL reconstruction, the anatomical attachment points around the ATFL or the angle between ATFL and the long axis of the fibula both can be used for bone canal positioning.

In this review, we discuss an interesting case of a patient with changes in microvascular pattern on NCM after pulmonary transplantation. We provide an overview of microvascular alterations in systemic sclerosis and the evidence in the literature about the effect of vasoactive and immunomodulation therapy on these vascular changes. We also outline the influence of pulmonal pathology, such as interstitial lung disease and pulmonary arterial hypertension, on the capillaroscopic pattern, and finally, we discuss how NCM could possibly serve as a biomarker of treatment. Duodenal polyps and superficial mucosal lesions (DP/SMLs) are poorly characterised. To describe a series of endoscopically-diagnosed extra-ampullary DPs/SMLs. This is a retrospective study conducted in a tertiary referral Endoscopy Unit, including patients who had DPs or SMLs that were biopsied or removed in 2010-2019. Age, gender, history of familial polyposis syndromes, DP/SML characteristics were recorded. Histopathological, immunohistochemical and molecular analyses were performed. 399 non-ampullary DP/SMLs from 345 patients (60.6% males; median age 67 years) were identified. Gastric foveolar metaplasia represented the most frequent histotype (193 cases, 48.4%), followed by duodenal adenomas (DAs; 77 cases, 19.3%). Most DAs (median size 6 mm) were sessile (Paris Is; 48%), intestinal-type (96.1%) with low-grade dysplasia (93.5%). We conducted an analysis utilizing data from the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program database from 2007 to 2016. Adult patients who underwent ankle surgery defined as ankle arthrodesis, ankle open reduction and internal fixation, and Achilles tendon repair in the outpatient setting. We examined 6 BMI ranges less then 20 kg/m2 underweight, ≥20 to less then 25 kg/m2 normal weight, ≥25 to less then 30 kg/m2 overweight, ≥30 to less then 40 kg/m2 obese, ≥40 kg/m2to less then 50 kg/m2 severely obese, and ≥50 kg/m2 extremely obese. The primary outcome was hospital admission. We performed multivariable logistic regression and reported odds ratios (OR) and their associated 95% confidence interval (CI) and considered a p value of less then .05 as statistically significant. Data extraction yielded 13,454 adult patients who underwent ambulatory ankle surgery. We then performed listwise deletion to exclude cases with missing observations. After excluding 5.4% of the data, the final study population included 12,729 patients. The overall rate of hospital admission was in the population was 18.6% (2,377/12,729). The overall rate of postoperative complications was 0.03% (4/12,729). We found no significant association of BMI with hospital admission following multivariable logistic regression. We recommend that BMI alone should not be solely used to exclude patients from having ankle surgery performed in an outpatient setting, especially since this patient group makes up a significant proportion of orthopedic surgery.The purpose of this study aimed to (1) identify the relationship between the fibula and the talus of the anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL); (2) collect detailed anatomical data and provide anatomical basis for ATFL anatomical reconstruction. We selected 27 ankle specimens of adult cadavers (9 left feet and 18 right feet in 11 males and 16 females; mean age 41.6 years) with the exception of ankle deformities, fractures, underdevelopment and degenerative diseases. In these 27 specimens,15 cases of ATFL were divided into two bundles and 12 cases of ATFL were single bundles. The average ATFL length was 20.31 ± 3.12mm. The center of the ATFL in 11 specimens was located in the calcaneofibular ligament (CFL) foot print area. The long axis of the fibula side stop point was 8.83±1.82 mm, and the short axis was 3.12±0.49 mm. The distance from the center of the ATFL fibula attachment area to the tip of the fibula was 14.22±2.87 mm, and the distance from the center of the CFL is 5.57±1.80mm. The distance from the center of the ATFL talar attachment area to the tibiotalar articular surface was (9.74±2.12) mm, and the distance from the anterior external cartilage surface of the talus was (4.87±1.82) mm. The angle between ATFL and the long axis of the fibula is 78°±12°.
