This diversity and lack of structural recommendations offer a wide scope for implementing screening. Against this background, the current status of implementation at German Comprehensive Cancer Centers (CCCs) funded by the German Cancer Aid has not yet been investigated.

    Quality of life has become an integral aspect of the management of breast cancer. Many women still need to undergo a modified radical mastectomy (MRM). Factors affecting the choice a woman makes to undergo breast reconstruction (BR) are unclear and are hypothesized to be influenced by socioeconomic factors. We conducted a survey to evaluate the awareness and acceptability of BR among women with breast cancer at our institution.

    A novel questionnaire was designed and served to 3 groups of women planned for MRM, follow up (FU) post-MRM, and FU post breast-conserving surgery.

    Responses were analyzed from 492 women. Of these, 280 (56.91%) were planned for MRM and 212 (43.08%) women were on FU. Almost 45% women were older than 50 years of age, and literacy rate was 87.6%. More than 70% were homemakers and 15 women (3%) were unmarried. The aspects evaluating awareness of BR suggested that 251 (51.01%) women had knowledge about BR. Major source of information was the surgeon (45.81%) and media (32.87%). About 80% women on FU post-MRM did not want reconstruction, and 55% did not opt for BR as they had coped with the mastectomy and did not feel the need for BR.

    The production of agricultural wastes still growing as a consequence of the population growing. However, the majority of these residues are under-utilized due their chemical composition, which is mainly composed by cellulose. Actually, the search of cellulases with high efficiency to degrade this carbohydrate remains as the challenge. In the present experiment, two genes encoding an endoglucanase (EC 3.2.1.4) and β-glucosidase (EC 3.2.1.21) were overexpressed in Escherichia coli and their recombinant enzymes (egl-FZYE and cel-FZYE, respectively) characterized. Those genes were found in Trabulsiella odontermitis which was isolated from the gut of termite Heterotermes sp. Additionally, the capability to release sugars from agricultural wastes was evaluated in both enzymes, alone and in combination.

    The results have shown that optimal pH was 6.0 and 6.5, reaching an activity of 1051.65 ± 47.78 and 607.80 ± 10.19 U/mg at 39 °C, for egl-FZYE and cel-FZYE, respectively. The Km and Vmax for egl-FZYE using CMC as and their effectiveness was improved up to 60% of glucose released when combined. In summary, the results of the study demonstrate that the recombinant enzymes exhibit characteristics that indicate their value as potential feed additives and that the enzymes could be used to enhance the degradation of cellulose in the poor-quality forage generally used in ruminant feedstuffs.

Improved participation in organised sport has been recommended by the WHO as one strategy to improve population levels of physical activity. Baseline data were collected between Oct-Dec 2017, with follow-up 12 months later. A telephone survey occurred at both time points, asking questions regarding registration and redemption of an Active Kids voucher for their child, child participation in organisednomic groups, more population targeting is needed to deliver voucher schemes to the most disadvantaged and inactive segments of the population in order to increase physical activity.
    Given the already active nature of this sample, no significant improvements in physical activity levels were noted, but the positive contribution community sport can have on health and wellbeing amongst children is reinforced. Whilst voucher schemes can address financial burdens across all socio-economic groups, more population targeting is needed to deliver voucher schemes to the most disadvantaged and inactive segments of the population in order to increase physical activity.

A gap exists in knowledge on factors driving rural-non-rural inequalities in diarrhoea development among U5C in LMIC. This study investigates the magnitude of rural-non-rural inequalities in diarrhoea and the roles of individual-level and neighbourhood-level factors in explaining these inequalities.

    Data of 796,150 U5C, from 63,378 neighbourhoods across 57 LMIC from the most recent Demographic and Health Survey (2010-2018) was analysed. The outcome variable was the recent experience of diarrhoea while independent variables consist of the individual- and neighbourhood-level factors. Data were analysed using multivariable Fairlie decomposition at p< 0.05 in Stata Version 16 while visualization was implemented in R Statistical Package.

    Two-thirds (68.0%) of the children are from rural areas. The overall prevalence of diarrhoea was 14.2, 14.6% vs 13.4%rural inequalities across the 20 countries. Overall main contributors to pro-rural inequality were neighbourhood socioeconomic status, household wealth status, media access, toilet types, maternal age and education.

    The gaps in the odds of diarrhoea among rural children than nonrural children were explained by individual-level and neighbourhood-level factors. Sustainable intervention measures that are tailored to country-specific needs could offer a better approach to closing rural-non-rural gaps in having diarrhoea among U5C in LMIC.

    Complications after total hip arthroplasty (THA) are frequently the consequence of malpositioned components or leg length discrepancy after surgery. Recently, a new version of a portable, accelerometer-based hip navigation system (New HipAlign) was made available with a change in the method of measuring cup abduction and the addition of a leg length measurement function. The purposes of this study were to investigate cup positioning and to examine the accuracy of leg length measurement with New HipAlign.

    Cups were implanted and intraoperative leg length change was measured using New HipAlign in 60 THAs through a posterior approach in the lateral decubitus position. The cup position and radiographic leg length change were determined postoperatively on pelvic radiograph and computed tomography scans. We previously compared cup positioning with a previous version of a portable, accelerometer-based hip navigation system (Previous HipAlign) and conventional surgical techniques.   • In this manuscript, we extend the HER model to incorporate real-time temporal dynamics and demonstrate how the extended model is able to capture single-unit neurophysiological, behavioral, and network effects previously reported in the literature. Our results add to the wide range of results that can be accounted for by the HER model, and provide further evidence for predictive coding as a unifying framework for understanding PFC function and organization.Liquid state machine (LSM) is a type of recurrent spiking network with a strong relationship to neurophysiology and has achieved great success in time series processing. However, the computational cost of simulations and complex dynamics with time dependency limit the size and functionality of LSMs. This paper presents a large-scale bioinspired LSM with modular topology. We integrate the findings on the visual cortex that specifically designed input synapses can fit the activation of the real cortex and perform the Hough transform, a feature extraction algorithm used in digital image processing, without additional cost. We experimentally verify that such a combination can significantly improve the network functionality. The network performance is evaluated using the MNIST dataset where the image data are encoded into spiking series by Poisson coding. We show that the proposed structure can not only significantly reduce the computational complexity but also achieve higher performance compared to the structure of previous reported networks of a similar size. We also show that the proposed structure has better robustness against system damage than the small-world and random structures. EEG analysis is performed to determine the temporal course of the event-related potential (ERP) components underlying Go/NoGo decisions and implicit attitude formation. However, the computational cost of simulations and complex dynamics with time dependency limit the size and functionality of LSMs. This paper presents a large-scale bioinspired LSM with modular topology. We integrate the findings on the visual cortex that specifically designed input synapses can fit the activation of the real cortex and perform the Hough transform, a feature extraction algorithm used in digital image processing, without additional cost. We experimentally verify that such a combination can significantly improve the network functionality. The network performance is evaluated using the MNIST dataset where the image data are encoded into spiking series by Poisson coding. We show that the proposed structure can not only significantly reduce the computational complexity but also achieve higher performance compared to the structure of previous reported networks of a similar size. We also show that the proposed structure has better robustness against system damage than the small-world and random structures.     The mechanisms underlying the relations between diabetes self-care behaviors, cognition, and social factors are still equivocal, and it is unclear how diabetes knowledge and health literacy is associated with self-care behaviors. Here, we tested a hypothetical path model linking diabetes self-care behaviors to knowledge, health literacy, and constructs of the extended parallel process model (EPPM) to understand potential predictors that may influence patients' self-care behavior with type 2 diabetes.

    A cross-sectional study was conducted, and 404 patients with type 2 diabetes were recruited from healthcare centers in Khaf, Iran. Diabetes self-care behaviors were indicated by, glucose self-control, foot care, physical activity, medications, smoking, and a healthy diet. The main data collection instruments in this study were the Health Literacy for Iranian Adults questionnaire (HELIA), diabetes knowledge, and self-care behavior based on the EPPM questionnaires.

    The results from path modeling indicated that perceived susceptibility, efficacy, self-efficacy, knowledge, and health literacy were significant (

    Dyslipidemia is a major risk issue for the development of cardiovascular disease. The aim of our study was to observe the pattern and prevalence of dyslipidemia in Pakistani population.

    This is a sub analysis of a population based second National Diabetes Survey of Pakistan (NDSP) 2016-2017 in adults aged 20years or above, carried out from February 2016 to August 2017 across Pakistan. Multi stage sampling technique was used for the stratification of population, based on rural and urban domains. District wise clusters and sub clusters were selected i.e. 27 and 46 in number. Subjects, consented to participate were requested to come after an overnight fast for anthropometric measurements, oral glucose tolerance test and fasting lipid profile (except for subjects with self-reported diabetes). Dyslipidemia was identified using Adult Treatment Panel III guidelines.

    A total of 10,834 subjects (43.8% male and 56.2% female) having mean age of 43.8 ± 14.0years, participated in the survey. Of the subjects studied, 39.3% had hypercholesterolemia, 48.9% had hypertriglyceridemia, 39.7% had high LDL-C levels while 83.9% men and 90% women had low HDL levels.     Type 2 diabetes, as the most prevalent metabolic disorder, is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Recent studies showed a significant association between intestinal microbiota and type 2 diabetes. These studies have shared evidences that alteration in the composition of intestinal microbiota can disrupt the balance of the host homeostasis and lead to metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes. In the present study, we compared the intestinal microbiota composition in three groups of type 2 diabetes patients, pre-diabetic patients and healthy individuals of Iranian population.

    After obtaining informed consent, stool samples were collected from 90 individuals of three studied groups. The DNA was extracted using column-based method.   • Tuberculosis (TB) affects one-third of the world's population and is the leading cause of human mortality and morbidity. Tuberculous meningitis (TBM) is the most severe type of extrapulmonary diasease. Medical treatment and nutritional management is the most efficient and cost-effective of all health interventions. In case A 25-y-woman presented with loss of appetite, fluctuating fever for two weeks, and loss of consciousness for 9 d. There was no history of headache, nausea, vomiting and neck pain. Physical examination shows signs of meningeal irritation, anemia, dermatitis in neck, armpit and ****, decubitus and limb paralysis. Laboratory examinations showed normocytic normochromic anemia, immune depletion, hypoalbuminemia, hyponatremia, hyperlipidemia and elevated liver transaminase. Nutritional therapy was given by enteral nutrition, contained of high protein and choline ONS (oral nutritional supplement), blenderized diet. Vitamin A, B complex, C, D, zinc, and cork fish extract as the source of albumin, immunonutrient such as fish oil was given as supplementation. After 35-d of treatment, there were increased of albumin plasma and lymphocyte level, accelerated wound healing, dermatitis, and functional capacity. Home healthcare visit and physiotherapy was conducted for about 1-month to support oral feeding from liquid to blenderized diet to porridge and improve cognitive and functional capacity. We aimed to examine the factors associated with vegetable intake at breakfast among young adults. In 2016, a self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted at a Japanese university. The questionnaire measured the frequency of ≥70 g vegetable intake at breakfast, lifestyle, eating habits, environmental factors, knowledge and attitudes (including the variable "Perceived behavior control (PBC)", from the Theory of Planned Behavior). The data of 1,455 male students who usually ate breakfast were analyzed. They were divided into two groups based on the median of the frequency of vegetable intake and the above factors were compared using a chi-squared test by living condition. The significant factors were subsequently entered into a logistic regression analysis as independent variables. Eating breakfast with family or friends and PBC were positively associated with vegetable intake in students living with their family. Often doing one's own cooking, having knowledge about a well-balanced diet, and PBC were positively associated with vegetable intake in students living alone. Data were analyzed using univariate (descriptive), bivariate (chi-square test), and multivariate analysis (multiple logistic regression). The result of bivariate analysis showed that there was a significant association between dietary diversity of complementary foods (p=0.012; RP=2.87; CI 1.23-6.68) and father's height (p=0.03; RP=2.58; CI 1.06-6.30) with stunting. The result of the multivariate analysis showed that there was a significant association between dietary diversity of complementary foods and stunting while there was no association between the father's height and stunting. This report is intended to describe how nutritional support with transitional feeding to enhance adequate intake can accelerate wound healing, decrease morbidity and mortality rate in TBM patient.In Japan, the amount of vegetable intake in young adults, especially at breakfast, is low. We aimed to examine the factors associated with vegetable intake at breakfast among young adults. In 2016, a self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted at a Japanese university. The questionnaire measured the frequency of ≥70 g vegetable intake at breakfast, lifestyle, eating habits, environmental factors, knowledge and attitudes (including the variable "Perceived behavior control (PBC)", from the Theory of Planned Behavior). The data of 1,455 male students who usually ate breakfast were analyzed. They were divided into two groups based on the median of the frequency of vegetable intake and the above factors were compared using a chi-squared test by living condition. The significant factors were subsequently entered into a logistic regression analysis as independent variables. Eating breakfast with family or friends and PBC were positively associated with vegetable intake in students living with their family. Often doing one's own cooking, having knowledge about a well-balanced diet, and PBC were positively associated with vegetable intake in students living alone. Along with PBC, different factors pertaining to an individual's living condition may need to be considered to increase vegetable intake at breakfast.The period of pregnancy and the first two years of children are called the golden period so that the adequacy intake of macro and micronutrients must be fulfilled. Method Study was an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design. The population was children aged 6-23 mo from 60 integrated health service centers in the area of Mergangsan public health center with a total population of 343 children. The sample size was 135 children. Samples were selected using simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using univariate (descriptive), bivariate (chi-square test), and multivariate analysis (multiple logistic regression). The result of bivariate analysis showed that there was a significant association between dietary diversity of complementary foods (p=0.012; RP=2.87; CI 1.23-6.68) and father's height (p=0.03; RP=2.58; CI 1.06-6.30) with stunting. The result of the multivariate analysis showed that there was a significant association between dietary diversity of complementary foods and stunting while there was no association between the father's height and stunting. Poor dietary diversity of complementary foods was a risk factor of stunting among children aged 6-23 mo.This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of two types of high-fiber biscuits on the lipid and anthropometric profile of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM). This study involved a pre- and posttest randomized controlled trial design conducted on 33 subjects of the first first group given caromma biscuit (made from modified cassava flour mixed with koro sword flour and date jam) and 31 subjects of the second first group given temma biscuit (made from a mixture of tempeh flour with date jam). Each group consumed 100 g of biscuit each day for 4 wk. The anthropometric data collected included body mass index (BMI), waist-hip circumference ratio (WHCR), body fat percentage (BFP), blood pressure, and fasting blood glucose (FBG). The lipid profile included total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), and triglyceride collected before and after the study. Antimicrobial multidrug-resistant (MDR) C. striatum strains have been increasingly related to various nosocomial diseases and/or outbreaks worldwide, including fatal invasive infections in immunosuppressed and immunocompetent patients. Although cases of infections by C. striatum still neglected in some countries, the improvement of microbiological techniques and studies led to the increase of survival of patients with C. striatum nosocomial infections at different levels of magnitude. Biofilm formation on abiotic surfaces contributes for the persistence of virulent C. striatum and dissemination of antimicrobial resistance in hospital environment. Besides that, empirical antibiotic therapy can select multi-resistant strains and transfer intra and interspecies genes horizontally. In this study, a worldwide survey of C. striatum human infections and nosocomial outbreaks was accomplished by the analysis of clinical-epidemiological and microbiological features of reported cases from varied countries, during a 44-year period (1976-2020).A Gram-staining-positive, endospore-forming, aerobic strain, designed WN066T, was isolated from saline-alkali wetland soil of Tianjin, China. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequence indicated WN066T was a member of the genus of Bacillus, and most closely related to Bacillus drentensis DSM 15600T (98.9%), Bacillus cucumis CCM 8651T (98.8%), Bacillus bataviensis DSM 15601T (98.7%) and Bacillus niacini DSM 2923T (98.7%). However, the average nucleotide identity (ANI) and digital DNA-DNA hybridization (DDH) values between strain WN066T and the most closely related species were less than the previously proposed cutoff values for differentiating species within the genus, suggesting that this strain represented a novel Bacillus species. The strain grew at 19-42 °C (optimally 33-37 °C) in the presence of 3-20% (w/v) NaCl (optimally 8-12%(w/v)), and at pH 6.5-11.0 (optimally 7.5-8.5). The major cellular fatty acids were iso-C150 (24.8%) and anteiso-C150 (38.9%). The bacterial strain was able to grow up to 1200 mM salt concentration and showed maximum growth at 600 mM NaCl concentration. The present study includes production of extracellular lipase enzyme and characterization of partially purified lipase with respect to its kinetic and thermodynamic behaviour. Maximum lipase activity was observed at 60 °C under alkaline pH (9.0) condition. The kinetic parameters such as Vmax, Km and Kcat were calculated as 158.73 U/mL, 0.539 mM and 483.93 min-1 at 60 °C, respectively, suggested thermostable nature of the enzyme. Further, the deactivation rate constant (kd) values calculated at 60 °C and 80 °C were found to be 0.0907 and 0.182 min-1, respectively, which suggested that enzyme was more stable at 60 °C and it was partly inactivated at 80 °C.This study explores the combination of two sampling strategies (polar organic compounds integrative sampler (POCIS) vs. spot sampling) and four chromatographic retention modes (reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RPLC), hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC), mixed-mode liquid chromatography (MMLC) and supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC)) for high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) screening of organic pollutants in water samples. To this end, a suspect screening approach, using iterative data-dependent tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) driven by a library of 3227 chemicals (including pharmaceuticals, pesticides, drugs of abuse, human metabolites, industrial chemicals and other pollutants), was employed. Results show that POCIS can afford a larger number of positive identifications as compared to spot sampling. On the other hand, the best suited retention mechanisms, in terms of identified analytes, are SFC, and followed by RPLC, MMLC and HILIC. However, the best combination (POCIS + SFC) would only allow the identification of 67% of the detected analytes. Thus, the combination of the two sampling strategies, spot and passive sampling, with two orthogonal retention mechanisms, RPLC and SFC, is proposed in order to maximize the number of analytes detected (89%). This strategy was applied to different surface water (river and estuary) samples from Galicia (NW Spain). A total of 155 compounds were detected at a confidence level 2a, from which the major class was pharmaceuticals (61%).

Although Leishmania parasites (LP) primarily hijack/inhibit host lysosomal/proteasomal pathways to hamper antigen-processing/presentation machinery, recent pieces of evidence have linked host-membrane fluidity as a major cause of defective antigen presentation in leishmaniasis. Increased membrane fluidity severely compromised peptide-****stability in the lipid raft regions, thereby abrogating T-cell mediated-signalling in the infected host. LP primarily achieves this by quenching host cholesterol, which acts as cementing material in maintaining the membrane fluidity. In this review, we have particularly focused on several strategies opted by LP to hijack-host cholesterol resulting in lipid droplets accumulation around leishmania-containing parasitophorous vacuole favouring intracellular survival of LP. In fact, LP infection can result in altered cholesterol and lipid metabolism in the infected host, thereby favouring the establishment and progression of the infection. From our analysis of two genome-wide transcriptomics data sets of LP infected host, we propose a possible molecular network that connects these interrelated events of altered lipid metabolism with eventual compromised antigen presentation, still existing as a gap in our current understanding of Leishmania infection.
    Despite policies and programmes aimed at housing people who are homeless, there are still people who live and sleep rough. This project used the skills and knowledge of people in this situation to identify a strategy to mitigate some of the risks.

    A Working Group of 11 was formed following a careful recruitment process from people who had volunteered after consultation by the project team. The co-design approach was guided by a set of principles.

    Eight members of the Working Group were interviewed by an external researcher (RM). The approach was primarily deductive, with the principles adopted by the project team used as a framework for data collection and analysis. The co-design process was captured by the project leaders (BK, PC) supplemented with documentation review and team discussions.

    The group met weekly for 12weeks, with 8-10 members present on average. They reviewed information from the survey, contributed ideas for solutions and ultimately decided to provide information via print, a website and an event. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/byl719.html Important factors in on-going involvement were carefully selecting group members and making participation rewarding for them.

    Vulnerable people such as those experiencing homelessness can be excluded from decision-making processes affecting them, as they can be perceived as hard to reach and unable to make a meaningful contribution. This project demonstrated that a carefully managed project, with sufficient resources and commitment, it was possible to involve people who are homeless and maintain involvement over an extended time period.

Several members reviewe this paper.Increased levels of donor-derived cell-free DNA (dd-cfDNA) in recipient plasma have been associated with rejection after transplantation. DNA sequence differences have been used to distinguish between donor and recipient, but epigenetic differences could also potentially identify dd-cfDNA. This pilot study aimed to identify ventricle-specific differentially methylated regions of DNA (DMRs) that could be detected in cfDNA. We identified 24 ventricle-specific DMRs and chose two for further study, one on chromosome 9 and one on chromosome 12. The specificity of both DMRs for the left ventricle was confirmed using genomic DNA from multiple human tissues. Serial matched samples of myocardium (n = 33) and plasma (n = 24) were collected from stable adult heart transplant recipients undergoing routine endomyocardial biopsy for rejection surveillance. Plasma DMR levels increased with biopsy-proven rejection grade for individual patients. Mean cellular apoptosis in biopsy samples increased significantly with rejection severity (2.4%, 4.4% and 10.0% for ACR 0R, 1R, and 2R, respectively) but did not show a consistent relationship with DMR levels. We identified multiple DNA methylation patterns unique to the human ventricle and conclude that epigenetic differences in cfDNA populations represent a promising alternative strategy for the non-invasive detection of rejection.

    To summarize the clinical manifestations, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features, and diagnosis and treatment of two children diagnosed with MOG antibody-positive cortical encephalitis in our hospital, and to analyze all of the literature on MOG antibody-positive associated cerebral cortical encephalitis published in the last 10years.

    A total of 24 patients, 20 adults, and 4 children were included. The main symptoms of all observed patients were as follows seizures 20/24 (83%), headache 18/24 (75%), fever 13/24 (54%), and increased cell number in cerebrospinal fluid 22/24 (92%). The main radiological sign was enhanced FLAIR signal in cortical 24/24 (100%), including enhanced fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) signal in unilateral cortical 20/24 (83%).

We identified 24 ventricle-specific DMRs and chose two for further study, one on chromosome 9 and one on chromosome 12. Serial matched samples of myocardium (n = 33) and plasma (n = 24) were collected from stable adult heart transplant recipients undergoing routine endomyocardial biopsy for rejection surveillance. To summarize the clinical manifestations, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features, and diagnosis and treatment of two children diagnosed with MOG antibody-positive cortical encephalitis in our hospital, and to analyze all of the literature on MOG antibody-positive associated cerebral cortical encephalitis published in the last 10years. A total of 24 patients, 20 adults, and 4 children were included. The main symptoms of all observed patients were as follows seizures 20/24 (83%), headache 18/24 (75%), fever 13/24 (54%), and increased cell number in cerebrospinal fluid 22/24 (92%). The main radiological sign was enhanced FLAIR signal in cortical 24/24 (100%), including enhanced fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) signal in unilateral cortical 20/24 (83%). The clinical manifestations of MOG antibody-positive cerebral cortical encephalitis are complex and varied, and long-term follow-up is needed to clarify the prognosis and recurrence, providing reference for the clinical treatment.

    One hundred and fifty V-A ECMOs were implanted (65 for post-cardiotomy shock, 85 for acute cardiogenic shock, including 39 patients after refractory cardiac arrest). Overall, median age was 58 (48-69) years and mortality 56%. Acute mesenteric ischaemia was suspected in 38 patients, with a delay of four (2-7) days after ECMO implantation, and confirmed in 14 patients, that is, a prevalence of 9%. Exploratory laparotomy was performed in six out of 14 patients, the others being too unstable to undergo surgery. All patients with mesenteric ischaemia died. Independent risk factors for developing mesenteric ischaemia were renal replacement therapy (odds ratio (OR) 4.5, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.3-15.7, p=0.02) and onset of a second shock within the first five days (OR 7.8, 95% CI 1.5-41.3, p=0.02). Our objective was to evaluate directionally independent unipolar voltage mapping, but with far-field cancellation, to identify low-voltage regions during AF.

    In 12 patients undergoing pulmonary vein isolation for AF, high-resolution voltage mapping was performed in the left atrium during sinus rhythm and AF using a roving 20-pole circular catheter. Bipolar electrograms (EGMs) (Bi) < 0.5 mV in sinus rhythm identified low-voltage regions. During AF, bipolar voltage and unipolar voltage maps were created, the latter with (uni-res) and without (uni-orig) far-field cancellation using a novel, validated least-squares algorithm.
