To fully study the influence of SPD_1495 on bacterial virulence in S. pneumoniae, we constructed a deletion mutant (D39Δspd1495) and an overexpressing strain (D39spd1495+). Comparative analysis of iTRAQ-based quantitative proteomic data of the wild-type D39 strain (D39-WT) and D39Δspd1495 showed that several differentially expressed proteins that participate in capsular polysaccharide synthesis, such as Cps2M, Cps2C, Cps2L, Cps2T, Cps2E, and Cps2D, were markedly upregulated in D39Δspd1495 Subsequent transmission electron microscopy and uronic acid detection assay confirmed that capsular polysaccharide synthesis was enhanced in D39Δspd1495 compared to that in D39-WT. Deletion of spd1495 increased capsular polysaccharide synthesis and thereby enhanced bacterial virulence. This is an analytical observational study on a prospective cohort of 310 consecutive patients with a permanent pacemaker implanted, included from January 1 to December 31, 2014 from 1 single center. The follow-up was conducted on 310 patients for 6 months. 239 patients (77%) received antithrombotic therapy at the time of the pacemaker implantation. 20.8% of complications are presented in patients without anticoagulant therapy, 80.8% of them being minor ones. In the case of patients with anticoagulant therapy, 30.3% of the complications are major ones. Factors associated with major complications were contusion (OR 2; 95% CI 1 to 3.8; p=0.049), and minor complications, arm immobilization >24 hours (p= less then 0.001) and contusion (p=0.002). This study found an increase in the overall risk and complications that can occur when implanting a permanent pacemaker in patients with antithrombotic therapy based on the time of immobilization and contusions after the implantation.

  • KRAS (Kirsten Rat Sarcoma) is the most common oncogenic mutation detected in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, the role of KRAS as either a prognostic factor or predictive factor (modifier of treatment effects) in NSCLC is not well established at this time. This systematic literature review (SLR) and meta-analysis synthesized the available evidence regarding the role of KRAS mutation as a predictive factor and/or prognostic factor of survival and response outcomes in patients with advanced/metastatic (stage IIIB-IV) NSCLC. Relevant clinical trials and observational studies were identified by searching MEDLINE, Embase and Cochrane Register of Controlled Trials. Meta-analyses were performed using data extracted from multivariable and univariable analyses from clinical studies to assess the empirical evidence of KRAS mutation status as a prognostic or/and predicitive factor. 43 selected studies were identified by the SLR and included in this meta-analysis. Pairwise meta-analyses of hazard ratios (HRs) reported in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) did not demonstrate a significant prognostic effect of mutant KRAS on overall survival (OS) (HR=1.10; 95% CI [0.88, 1.38]) or progression free survival (PFS) (HR=1.03; 95% CI [0.80, 1.33]). However, when conducting meta-analyses on HRs reported in observational studies, a statistically significant negative prognostic effect of mutant KRAS was observed (OS HR=1.71; 95% CI [1.07, 2.84]; PFS HR=1.18; 95% CI [1.02, 1.36]). Meta-analyses of objective response rate (ORR) in RCTs demonstrated a negative prognostic effect of mutant KRAS (RR=0.38; 95% CI [0.16, 0.63]). Limited data were available to evaluate the role of KRAS mutation as a predictive factor. In conclusion, this research offers evidence that KRAS mutation may be a negative prognostic factor for survival and response outcomes in patients with advanced/metastatic NSCLC, but further research is needed to address conflicting results on the importance of KRAS mutations as a predictive factor.
    Illness perception is an important factor that influences psychological distress, coping behaviors, and illness outcomes, and this factor is often assessed by the Revised Illness Perception Questionnaire (IPQ-R). Data regarding illness perception among cervical cancer patients are limited, especially in China. The study aimed to adapt and psychometrically test the Chinese version of the IPQ-R for Cervical Cancer (CIPQ-R-CC).

    This was a methodological study. Before the survey, the identity and causal subscales (originally 14 and 18 items, respectively) were adapted. Data were collected from 220 cervical cancer patients (N=220) from June 2018 to February 2019. Psychometric properties were assessed using explanatory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, Pearson correlation coefficients, one-way analysis of variance, t-tests and Cronbach's alpha coefficients.

    Eight identity items and twenty-six causal items were included in the CIPQ-R-CC, which showed acceptable content validity (I-CVI=0.78-1.00, S-CVI=0.97-0.99). A five-factor solution was obtained from the cause subscale by explanatory factor analysis, and these factors explained 60.19% of the total variance. For Part III of the CIPQ-R-CC, after deleting nine items and respecifying five error covariances, the proposed seven-factor model was confirmed. There were low to moderate correlations between the latent factors (r<0.52). Therefore it represents an excellent example to study the role of interlayer solvent molecules on the ultrasound-assisted delamination of functionally-active 2D metal-organic frameworks in water, a field of growing interest. With this aim, ultrasound-assisted delamination of the crystals was optimized with time, leading to stable nanosheet colloidal water suspensions with very homogeneous dimensions. Alternative bottom-up synthesis of related nanocrystals under ultrasound sonication yielded similar shaped crystals with **** higher size dispersions. Finally, experimental results evidence that the nanostructures have higher catalytic activities in comparison to their bulk counterparts, due to larger metallic center exposition. This non-destructive technology offers several advantages such as rapid processes, enhanced process efficiency, elimination of process steps, better quality product and retention of product characteristics (texture, nutrition value, organoleptic properties), improved shelf life. This review paper summarizes the various applications of ultrasound in different unit operations (filtration, freezing, thawing, brining, sterilization/pasteurization, cutting, etc.) and specific food divisions (meat, fruits and vegetables, cereals, dairy, etc.) along with, the advantages and drawbacks of the technology. The further scope of industrial implementation of ultrasound has also been discussed.

This case discusses the challenges of posterior colporrhaphy in a patient with previous, remote J-pouch surgery. In traditional posterior colporrhaphy, randomized controlled trials have not shown any benefit of graft augmentation (Maher, 2016). However, the utilization of a biologic graft to improve anatomical correction is discussed in this unique case. Short term anatomical success was obtained without immediate complications in the postoperative period. In a patient with a history of ulcerative colitis with colorectal resection and a J-pouch, surgery can be challenging due to alterations of pelvic anatomy. Here we report on a patient with double-negative VGKC who developed severe peripheral nerve hyperexcitability, central nervous system symptoms with agitation and insomnia, dysautonomia, and systemic symptoms with weight loss, itch, and skin lesions. The disease started acutely one month after an episode of enteroviral pericarditis and responded well to immunotherapy. The patient is presumed to have developed a postinfectious immunotherapy-responsive autoimmune disease. In the setting of anti-VGKC positivity, it seems likely that anti-VGKC contributed to the pathogenesis of the patient's symptoms of nerve hyperexcitability and that the disease was caused by an acquired autoimmune effect on the neuronal kinetics of VGKC.     The efficacy of different timings of cytoreductive surgery (CRS) with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) in controlling malignant ascites caused by peritoneal carcinomatosis of colorectal cancer (CRC) is not well defined. The study aims to investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of different timings of CRS with HIPEC for malignant ascites caused by peritoneal carcinomatosis from CRC.

    This was a preliminary randomized controlled study performed at the Intracelom Hyperthermic Perfusion Therapy Center of the Cancer Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University (China) from December 2008 to December 2016. The patients were randomized to CRS, followed by HIPEC (CRS+HIPEC; n = 14), and ultrasound-guided HIPEC, followed by CRS 1 to 2 weeks later (HIPEC+ delayed cytoreductive surgery (dCRS) group, n = 14). The endpoints were complete remission rate of ascites, successful complete CRS rate, and overall survival.

    Malignant ascites in all patients showed complete remission; the total effective rate was 100%. Complete CRS was not feasible in any patient. The median follow-up of the 2 groups was 41.9 and 42.3 months in the CRS+HIPEC and HIPEC+dCRS groups, respectively. Overall survival was 14.5 (95%CI 7-19 months) and 14.3 months (95%CI 4-21 months) (P > .05). The adverse effects of HIPEC were manageable.

    Information regarding the clinical features and outcomes of pneumonia due to an infection with human coronavirus (HCoV)-OC43 in children with cancer is rare. This report presents the clinical features in terms of chest CT scan images which may be used to identify cases of HCoV-OC43 infection induced pneumonia in immunocompromised children.

    We report here a girl with acute lymphoblastic leukemia who developed respiratory symptoms during febrile neutropenia. Rapid clinical progression and nodular lesions on her chest X-ray and computed tomography scans were suggestive of a pulmonary fungal infection.

    A series of tests eventually confirmed the exclusive presence of HCoV-OC43 by the FilmArray Respiratory Panel from a throat swab sample.

    After the diagnosis was confirmed, the antimicrobial agents initially administered were discontinued.

    Although the chest CT scan images looked severe, the clinical course of the infection induced pneumonia was benign. The respiratory status of the patient was completely resolved in 2 weeks.

  • Objectives Chronic postoperative pain is prevalent after robot-assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy for endometrial cancer. Preoperative Quantitative Sensory Testing (QST) has been utilized to identify patients at risk of developing chronic postoperative pain after a range of surgical procedures. The aim of this prospective, observational study was to (1) determine the prevalence of chronic postoperative pain, (2) assess selected preoperative risk factors for chronic postoperative pain, and (3) evaluate if preoperative QST profiling could predict the development of chronic postoperative pain following robot-assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy for endometrial cancer. Methods One-hundred and sixty consecutive patients were included and handheld pressure algometry, cuff pressure algometry, temporal summation of pain, conditioned pain modulation, and heat pain thresholds were assessed prior to surgery. Patients were asked to fill out a questionnaire concerning pain in the pre- and post-operative time period six montelopment of chronic postoperative pain despite preoperative heat pain hyperalgesia in patients that would develop chronic postoperative pain.Objectives Staging sexual maturation is an integral component of adolescent research. Methods The strength of agreement between self-assessed puberty using a modified PDS and the 'gold' standard of physician-assessed Tanner stages was reported using weighted kappa (κ w) for girls (n = 723) of 9.0-14.9 years of age or boys (n = 662) of 10.0-15.9 years of age living in the rural District of Matiari. Results Agreement between the gold standard and self-assessment for puberty was substantial, with a κ w of 0.73 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.67; 0.79) for girls and a κ w of 0.61 (95% CI 0.55; 0.66) for boys. We report the comparative exposure of liraglutide in pediatric vs. adult patients. Methods In this pharmacokinetic (PK) and exposure-response meta-analysis, data from two pediatric trials (including ellipse) and two adult trials of liraglutide were compiled (1,137 PK observations from 116 patients) to determine the impact of body weight, age and sex on liraglutide exposure. The exposure-response relationship for glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and body weight was compared between pediatric and adult patients. Additionally, the relationships between exposure and change from baseline in body mass index (BMI) and BMI standard deviation score (SDS) were assessed. Results The same liraglutide dose showed comparable exposure levels in pediatric and adult patients. Body weight and sex were the most important covariates for liraglutide exposure. There was an increasing response with higher liraglutide concentrations, and greater reductions were observed from baseline in HbA1c at 26 weeks vs. placebo. A trend toward lower body weight, BMI and BMI SDS was observed at 26 weeks. Conclusions These results support use of the same liraglutide dosing regimen in children and adolescents, aged ≥10 years, as that used in adults.
    The purpose of this study was to (1) characterise the procedure of phlebotomy, deconstruct it into its constituent parts and develop a performance metric for the purpose of training healthcare professionals in a large teaching hospital and to (2) evaluate the construct validity of the phlebotomy metric and establish a proficiency benchmark.

    By engaging with a multidisciplinary team with a wide range of experience of preanalytical errors in phlebotomy and observing video recordings of the procedure performed in the actual working environment, we defined a performance metric. This was brought to a modified Delphi meeting, where consensus was reached by an expert panel. To demonstrate construct validity, we used the metric to objectively assess the performance of novices and expert practitioners.

    A phlebotomy metric consisting of 11 phases and 77 steps was developed. The mean inter-rater reliability was 0.91 (min 0.83, max 0.95). The expert group completed more steps of the procedure (72 vs 69), made fewer errors (19 vs 13, p=0.014) and fewer critical errors (1 Vs 4, p=0.002) than the novice group.

This paper estimates the economic cost of smoking and secondhand smoke (SHS) exposure in the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates), for which no detailed study exists.

    We used data from the Global Burden of Diseases Study 2016 and the cost-of-illness approach to estimate direct costs (healthcare expenditures) and indirect costs (productivity losses due to morbidity and mortality). Indirect cost was estimated with and without the inclusion of musculoskeletal disorders, using the human capital approach.

    Total cost of smoking and SHS was estimated to be purchasing power parity (PPP)$ 34.5 billion in 2016, equivalent to 1.04% of the combined gross domestic product (GDP). SHS accounted for 20.4% of total cost. The highest proportion of indirect cost resulted from smoking in men and middle-aged people. The main causes of morbidity cost from smoking and SHS were chronic respiratory diseases and type 2 diabetes mellitus, respectively.
    Objectives Chronic postoperative pain is prevalent after robot-assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy for endometrial cancer. Preoperative Quantitative Sensory Testing (QST) has been utilized to identify patients at risk of developing chronic postoperative pain after a range of surgical procedures. The aim of this prospective, observational study was to (1) determine the prevalence of chronic postoperative pain, (2) assess selected preoperative risk factors for chronic postoperative pain, and (3) evaluate if preoperative QST profiling could predict the development of chronic postoperative pain following robot-assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy for endometrial cancer. Methods The strength of agreement between self-assessed puberty using a modified PDS and the 'gold' standard of physician-assessed Tanner stages was reported using weighted kappa (κ w) for girls (n = 723) of 9.0-14.9 years of age or boys (n = 662) of 10.0-15.9 years of age living in the rural District of Matiari. Results Agreement between the gold standard and self-assessment for puberty was substantial, with a κ w of 0.73 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.67; 0.79) for girls and a κ w of 0.61 (95% CI 0.55; 0.66) for boys. We report the comparative exposure of liraglutide in pediatric vs. adult patients. Methods In this pharmacokinetic (PK) and exposure-response meta-analysis, data from two pediatric trials (including ellipse) and two adult trials of liraglutide were compiled (1,137 PK observations from 116 patients) to determine the impact of body weight, age and sex on liraglutide exposure. The exposure-response relationship for glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and body weight was compared between pediatric and adult patients. Additionally, the relationships between exposure and change from baseline in body mass index (BMI) and BMI standard deviation score (SDS) were assessed. Results The same liraglutide dose showed comparable exposure levels in pediatric and adult patients. Body weight and sex were the most important covariates for liraglutide exposure. There was an increasing response with higher liraglutide concentrations, and greater reductions were observed from baseline in HbA1c at 26 weeks vs. placebo. A trend toward lower body weight, BMI and BMI SDS was observed at 26 weeks. The strong near-infrared (NIR) light and X-ray absorption abilities of gold nanorods make the nanosensitizer function as both a photothermal agent for photothermal therapy and a radiosensitizer for enhanced radiotherapy. The studies in vitro and in vivo demonstrated that the nanosensitizer offers good dual-modal imaging capability and significantly suppresses tumor progression under NIR light and X-ray irradiation. RESULTS The proportion of nodules in each CNB category and the range of the malignancy rate for each category was as follows, in order from category I to VI 1.8%, 23.1%-75.0%; 57.9%, 0.7%-16.7%; 16.0%, 13.2%-46.7%; 8.8%, 53.8%-56.8%; 2.0%, 100%; and 13.5%, 100%.     The goal of this systematic and umbrella review was to regroup all systematic reviews, non-systematic reviews and all original articles into one convenient publication that would facilitate the theoretical and applied scientific investigations directed on cannabis consumption and exercise performance, to update current findings on the matters, and assess evidence quality.

    The systematic review was conducted following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) method. A computer-based systematic search was conducted in September 2019 through the Pubmed, Scopus and SPORTDiscus databases. The reliability of the systematic search was assured by having the article selection process entirely repeated by a second author. Strength of evidence of the selected articles was assesses using a modified version of the Downs & Black Checklist.

    This study compared the effects of plyometric training (PT) and virtual training (VT) on physical and functional performance.

    Fifty-five moderately-trained women participated in this randomized, controlled, prospective study. The subjects were randomly assigned to VT (N.=20), PT (N.=18), and control (CG, N.=17) groups. The VT was performed using the Your Body Shape Fitness Evolved 2012

The present study was conducted to explore the influence of Pilates on depression and happiness levels of elderly women.

    This randomized trial work was conducted on 60 elderly women referred to the health center of Rafsanjan city, southern Iran. The participants were randomly assigned into two intervention (Pilates) and control groups, each with 30 members. In the intervention group, participants did Pilates three sessions each week for 8 weeks. The control group did not receive any intervention similar to the intervention group. The happiness level of the participants was measured using the Oxford Happiness Inventory (OHI) and their depression was measured using the **** Depression Inventory (BDI) before, one month after, and two months after the intervention. A mixed ANOVA was applied for data analysis.

    The majority of the participants were married housewives with primary education and age range of above 62 years. Based on the findings of this study, the mean happiness and depression scores of the participants at the end of months one and two in the intervention groups increased significantly compared to those of the control group.

    Radical cystectomy (RC) and urinary diversion (UD) are two steps of the same surgical procedure involving likely complications and important impact on quality of life (QoL). The literature was reviewed to identify recent studies reporting UDs complications occurred 90 days after surgery and graded by Clavien-Dindo Classification System (CCS).

    A comprehensive systematic Medline search was performed in PubMed/Medline, Embase and Scopus databases to identify reports published in English starting from 2013 using key words related to review outcome (i.e. neobladder, ileal conduct, ureterocutaneostomy, cystectomy, QoL). Complications were defined as minor or major whether the CCS grade was ≤2 or ≥3, respectively. Then, manuscripts references were screened to identify unfounded studies. Only studies using CCS to report surgical complications were considered.

    Retrieved studies were reported according to two main items of complications and QoL. About UDs complications, fourteen studies were identified incorporating overall 4436 patients. Up to 50% of patients experienced at least one low-grade complications (CCS≤2) requiring pharmacological treatment to be healed. On the other hand, high-grade complications (CCS≥3) occurred in 0.7-42% of cases and required surgical interventions (CCS 3a and 3b) or life support (CCS=4). The available approaches for reducing mental problems, particularly for elderlies, include physical activities and exercise. Pilates is a sport that has received much attention during the past few years. The present study was conducted to explore the influence of Pilates on depression and happiness levels of elderly women. This randomized trial work was conducted on 60 elderly women referred to the health center of Rafsanjan city, southern Iran. The participants were randomly assigned into two intervention (Pilates) and control groups, each with 30 members. In the intervention group, participants did Pilates three sessions each week for 8 weeks. The control group did not receive any intervention similar to the intervention group. The happiness level of the participants was measured using the Oxford Happiness Inventory (OHI) and their depression was measured using the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) before, one month after, and two months after the intervention. A mixed ANOVA was applied for data analysis. The majority of the participants were married housewives with primary education and age range of above 62 years. Based on the findings of this study, the mean happiness and depression scores of the participants at the end of months one and two in the intervention groups increased significantly compared to those of the control group. Doing Pilates for 8 weeks may positively affect the depression and happiness levels of the elderly. Thus, it is recommended as a healthy exercise for elderlies. Radical cystectomy (RC) and urinary diversion (UD) are two steps of the same surgical procedure involving likely complications and important impact on quality of life (QoL). The literature was reviewed to identify recent studies reporting UDs complications occurred 90 days after surgery and graded by Clavien-Dindo Classification System (CCS). A comprehensive systematic Medline search was performed in PubMed/Medline, Embase and Scopus databases to identify reports published in English starting from 2013 using key words related to review outcome (i.e. neobladder, ileal conduct, ureterocutaneostomy, cystectomy, QoL). Complications were defined as minor or major whether the CCS grade was ≤2 or ≥3, respectively. Then, manuscripts references were screened to identify unfounded studies. Only studies using CCS to report surgical complications were considered. Retrieved studies were reported according to two main items of complications and QoL. About UDs complications, fourteen studies were identified incorporating overall 4436 patients. Furthermore, protocols for producing representative tau forms were developed. We produced and characterized the aggregation behavior of the triple cysteine-modified tau-K18, often used in real-time cell internalization and aggregation studies because it can be fluorescently labeled on a cysteine outside the microtubule-binding core. Similar to the wild type (WT), triple cysteine-modified tau-K18 aggregated by progressive β-sheet enrichment, albeit at a slower rate. On prolonged incubation, cysteine-modified K18 formed paired helical filaments similar to those in Alzheimer's disease, sharing morphological phenotypes with WT tau-K18 filaments. Nonetheless, cysteine-modified tau-K18 filaments were significantly shorter (p = 0.002) and mostly wider than WT filaments, explainable by their different principal filament elongation pathways vertical (end-to-end) and lateral growth for WT and cysteine-modified, respectively. Cysteine rearrangement may therefore induce filament polymorphism. Through further compression, the wrinkle morphologies of MXene sheets tend to be perpendicularly aligned to the compression direction. These wrinkle structures were also exhibited when MXene sheets were mixed in equal proportions with graphene oxide sheets. Owing to the close correlation of the morphologies of MXene films with the performance of MXene-based materials, the technique employed in this study can provide a route for applications requiring wrinkled MXene, ranging from nanoelectronic devices to energy storage materials, such as supercapacitors and battery electrodes.Scaling or precipitation fouling involves crystallization of hard and chalky solid salts from a solution.   • The genomic variability of local Italian chicken breeds, which were monitored under a conservation plan, was studied using single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) to understand their genetic diversity and population structure. A total of 582 samples from 23 local breeds and four commercial stocks were genotyped using the Affymetrix 600 K Chicken SNP Array. In general, the levels of genetic diversity, investigated through different approaches, were lowest in the local chicken breeds compared to those in the commercial stocks. A questionnaire administered by one investigator in each of three public settings of four cities in France from September 2016 to November 2017. Among 794 adults interviewed, 502 (63.2%) reported a GB. Among them, 414 (82.5%) believed that GB is benign, and 309 (61.6%) declared one or more responses. The three main responses were to use mouthwash (29.3%), to change to a soft-bristle toothbrush (20.1%) and to modify the brushing technique (19.3%). Almost half (49.0%) questioned at least one healthcare professional concerning their GB a dentist (43.0%), a physician (14.1%), and a pharmacist (8.0%). The main response of each healthcare professional was for dentists a "prescription of mouthwash", for physicians to say "gingival bleeding is not serious"; and for pharmacists "to sell a mouthwash". Most of the participants considered their GB as benign and had inappropriate responses, which indicates their lack of knowledge regarding periodontal health. The countless interactions that occur in the rhizosphere between plants and its AMF symbionts are mediated through the plant and fungal metabolites that ensure partner recognition, colonization, and establishment of the symbiotic association. The colonization and establishment of AMF reprogram the metabolic pathways of plants, resulting in changes in the primary and secondary metabolites, which is the focus of this review. During initial colonization, plant-AMF interaction is facilitated through the regulation of signaling and carotenoid pathways. After the establishment, the AMF symbiotic association influences the primary metabolism of the plant, thus facilitating the sharing of photosynthates with the AMF. The carbon supply to AMF leads to the transport of a significant amount of sugars to the roots, and also alters the tricarboxylic acid cycle. Apart from the nutrient exchange, the AMF imparts abiotic stress tolerance in host plants by increasing the abundance of several primary metabolites. Although AMF initially suppresses the defense response of the host, it later primes the host for better defense against biotic and abiotic stresses by reprogramming the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites. Additionally, the influence of AMF on signaling pathways translates to enhanced phytochemical content through the upregulation of the phenylpropanoid pathway, which improves the quality of the plant products. These phytometabolome changes induced by plant-AMF interaction depends on the identity of both plant and AMF species, which could contribute to the differential outcome of this symbiotic association. MRO services currently involve heavy manual labor. This creates bottlenecks, low repeatability, and low productivity. Presented in this paper is an investigation to create an automation cell for the fan-blade reconditioning component of MRO. The design and prototype of the automation cell is presented. Furthermore, a digital twin of the grinding process is developed and used as a tool to explore the required grinding force parameters needed to effectively remove surface material. An integration of a 6-DoF industrial robot with an end-effector grinder and a computer vision system was undertaken. The computer vision system was used for the digitization of the fan-blade surface as well as tracking and guidance of material removal. Our findings reveal that our proposed system can perform material removal, track the state of the fan blade during the reconditioning process and do so within a closed-loop automated robotic work cell.Gingivae, as the part of periodontium, are involved in tooth support and possess the ability to heal rapidly, without scar formation. The countless interactions that occur in the rhizosphere between plants and its AMF symbionts are mediated through the plant and fungal metabolites that ensure partner recognition, colonization, and establishment of the symbiotic association. The colonization and establishment of AMF reprogram the metabolic pathways of plants, resulting in changes in the primary and secondary metabolites, which is the focus of this review. During initial colonization, plant-AMF interaction is facilitated through the regulation of signaling and carotenoid pathways. After the establishment, the AMF symbiotic association influences the primary metabolism of the plant, thus facilitating the sharing of photosynthates with the AMF. The carbon supply to AMF leads to the transport of a significant amount of sugars to the roots, and also alters the tricarboxylic acid cycle. Apart from the nutrient exchange, the AMF imparts abiotic stress tolerance in host plants by increasing the abundance of several primary metabolites. Although AMF initially suppresses the defense response of the host, it later primes the host for better defense against biotic and abiotic stresses by reprogramming the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites. Additionally, the influence of AMF on signaling pathways translates to enhanced phytochemical content through the upregulation of the phenylpropanoid pathway, which improves the quality of the plant products. These phytometabolome changes induced by plant-AMF interaction depends on the identity of both plant and AMF species, which could contribute to the differential outcome of this symbiotic association. Furthermore, a digital twin of the grinding process is developed and used as a tool to explore the required grinding force parameters needed to effectively remove surface material. An integration of a 6-DoF industrial robot with an end-effector grinder and a computer vision system was undertaken. The computer vision system was used for the digitization of the fan-blade surface as well as tracking and guidance of material removal. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was applied to the evaluation of risk factors. Mann-Whitney U test, independent t test, and chi-squared test were performed for the comparison of local kyphosis between postoperative and last follow-up.

    There were twenty patients who had a recovery rate of less than 50%. Advance age, longer duration of symptoms, bigger T1 slope angle, and lower change of local kyphosis angle were significantly associated with a poor clinical outcome by multivariate logistic regression analysis. The cause of worsening of postoperative local alignment had T1 slope, C2-7 sagittal vertical axis (SVA), adjacent segment degeneration (ASD), and implant subsidence.

This paper describes perceptions and recommendations of young mothers, family and community members on why the high rate of teenage pregnancies in Uganda and how these can be reduced.

    This qualitative research was conducted from March to May 2016 in six communities within Budondo sub-county (Jinja district), Eastern Uganda. In-depth oral interviews were conducted with 101 purposively sampled adolescent mothers, family members, and workers of government and non-government organizations. Young mothers in Uganda risk poor maternal and child health, being isolated, attempting unsafe abortions, failure to continue with school, and poverty. This paper describes perceptions and recommendations of young mothers, family and community members on why the high rate of teenage pregnancies in Uganda and how these can be reduced. This qualitative research was conducted from March to May 2016 in six communities within Budondo sub-county (Jinja district), Eastern Uganda. In-depth oral interviews were conducted with 101 purposively sampled adolescent mothers, family members, and workers of government and non-government organizations. Thematic analysis framed around levels of influence within a social cognitive framework was conducted using Atlas-ti (version 7.5.4). Perceived determinants of teenage pregnancies include lack of life and social survival skillferring empowerment and vocational skills to girls, and construction of homes with separate rooms to support parents' privacy. The factors associated with adolescent pregnancy in Uganda fall under individual, economic, social and physical environmental determinants. Recommendations spanning family, community and government involvement can ultimately empower girls, their families and community members, and support collective action to reduce teenage pregnancies.
