As detailed, lncRNA-TTN-AS1 had a significant effect on the increase of TTN promoter activity. Besides, lncRNA-TTN-AS1 also induced the accumulation of TTN in cytoplasm by increasing the stability of TTN mRNA. Then, in vivo experiments demonstrated S5 improved cecal ligation and puncture (CLP)-induced sepsis specially based on the regulation of M1-like macrophages. Mechanistic studies indicated that S5 treatment dramatically upregulated cellular autophagy in M1-like macrophage. Furthermore, by multiple methods, S5 was revealed to directly bind with ubiquitin-specific proteases 14 (USP14) at Ser404, Phe405, and Cys414 by hydrogen bond to inhibit its deubiquitinating activity, and block USP14-TRAF6 (TNF receptor associated factor 6) interaction, subsequently promoting ubiquitination of Beclin1, interrupting Beclin1-Bcl2 interaction, and accumulating the autophagosome in macrophages, which finally resulted in the blockade of M1-like macrophage polarization. Animal experiments also confirmed the protection of S5 in CLP **** was dependent on activation of macrophage autophagy. What's more, as a novel USP14 inhibitor, S5 exhibited higher efficiency and safety than IU1, the known USP14 inhibitor. Therefore, this study has demonstrated that typically inhibiting USP14 promotes autophagy in M1-like macrophages and alleviates CLP-induced sepsis. Concentrating on CASC4, its mutagenesis characterized the PC7/Furin-shedding site to occur at KR66↓NS, in HEK293 cells. We defined PC7 and Furin trafficking and activity, and demonstrated that CASC4 shedding occurs in acidic endosomes and/or in the trans-Golgi Network. Factors identified to enhance students' level of preparedness include faculty opportunities for development, changes to the explicit and implicit curriculum, and creating a formalized way to integrate topics on oppression and diversity into all facets of the curriculum.The risk of Type-A dissection is increased in subjects with connective tissue disorders and dilatation of the proximal aorta. The location and extents of vessel wall tears in these patients could be potentially missed during prospective imaging studies. The objective of the present study is to estimate the distribution of systolic wall stress in two exemplary cases of proximal dissection using finite element analysis (FEA) and evaluate the sensitivity of the distribution to the choice of anisotropic material model and root motion. FEA was performed for pre-dissection aortas, without prior knowledge of the origin and extents of vessel wall tear. The stress distribution was evaluated along the wall tear in the post-dissection aortas. The stress distribution was compared for the Fung and Holzapfel models with and without root motion. For the subject with spiral dissection, peak stress coincided with the origin of the tear in the sinotubular junction. For the case with root dissection, maximum stress was obtained at the distal end of the tear. The FEA predicted tear pressure was 20% higher for the subject with root dissection as compared to the case with spiral dissection. The predicted tear pressure was higher (9-11%) for root motions up to 10mm. The Holzapfel model predicted a tear pressure that was lower (8-15%) than the Fung model. The FEA results showed that both material response and root motion could potentially influence the predicted dissection pressure of the proximal aorta at least for conditions tested in this study.
Automated coronary total plaque volume (TPV) quantification derived from coronary computed tomographic angiography (CTA) datasets provide exact and reliable assessment of calcified and non-calcified coronary atherosclerosis burden. The aim of this analysis was to investigate the long-term predictive value of TPV.
TPV was quantified in 1577 patients undergoing coronary CTA and cardiovascular events were collected during 10.5 years (interquartile range 6.0-11.4) of follow-up. The study endpoint comprised cardiac death and acute coronary syndrome and occurred in 59 (3.7%) patients. Coronary TPV provided additive prognostic value over clinical risk assessed with the Morise Score and coronary artery disease severity (rise in C-index from 0.744 to 0.769, P = 0.03). A category-based reclassification approach combining the Morise Score and TPV revealed superior risk stratification (categorical net reclassification improvement 0.48 with 95% CI 0.13-0.68, P < 0.001) and resulted in reclassification of 800 (51%) patients compared with the Morise Score alone. The 10-year risk for the study endpoint was 0.6% (95% CI 0-1.3) for patients classified as low risk (n = 807), 4.8% (95% CI 2.4-7.2) for patients at intermediate risk (n = 400), and 10.3% (95% CI 6.6-13.9) for patients at high risk (n = 370) using the combined reclassification approach.

Religious-service attendance has been linked with a lower risk of all-cause mortality, suicide and depression. Yet, its associations with other health and well-being outcomes remain less clear.
Using longitudinal data from three large prospective cohorts in the USA, this study examined the association between religious-service attendance and a wide range of subsequent physical health, health behaviour, psychological distress and psychological well-being outcomes in separate cohorts of young, middle-aged and older adults. All analyses adjusted for socio-demographic characteristics, prior health status and prior values of the outcome variables whenever data were available. Bonferroni correction was used to correct for multiple testing.
Estimates combining data across cohorts suggest that, compared with those who never attended religious services, individuals who attended services at least once per week had a lower risk of all-cause mortality by 26% [95% confidence interval (CI) 0.65 to 0.84], heavy drinkimay be a meaningful form of social integration that potentially relates to greater longevity, healthier behaviours, better mental health and greater psychosocial well-being.Gait modifications are effective in reducing the first peak knee abduction moment (PKAM), a surrogate for knee loading. Reliance on 3D motion capture currently restricts these modifications to the laboratory. Therefore, our purpose was to test the feasibility of a novel wearable biofeedback system to train 1) toe-in and trunk lean modifications and 2) combined toe-in and trunk lean modifications to reduce PKAM during overground walking outside the laboratory. Twelve healthy participants practiced modifications in a hallway directly after performing five normal walking trials. The wearable feedback system provided real-time haptic biofeedback during training trials to inform participants if they were within prescribed modification range (7°-12° greater than baseline). Participants were instructed to move to the next modification only once they felt comfortable and could perform it with minimal errors. Following training, five trials of each modification were immediately performed in the gait laboratory without feedback. All participants successfully modified their foot progression and trunk angle using the wearable system. Conducting serological studies is an important measure to determine the status of the COVID-19 in affected countries. These studies may also be used to estimate cumulative incidence of the disease, and to get an impression about the level of the epidemic.
If an accurate serological test is available it can be used for seroepidemiological studies and epidemic investigation in special context, but given the current situation, it may not be possible to be used for screening the normal population and in care and treatment. This research highlighted the importance and urgency of conducting serological studies for monitoring the COVID-19 situation and evaluation of the interventions.

Despite the tremendous negative consequences of substances on the health and well-being of adolescents, studies continue to report the high rates of substance use among adolescents. We aimed to identify the pattern of substance use among high school students and its relationship with psychosocial factors.
A cross-sectional study.
The study was conducted in Oct 2019 among students in the senior secondary school in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State; southwestern Nigeria. Participants were selected using random sampling, and data were collected using a socio-demographic questionnaire, the Kessler Psychological distress scale and an adapted version of the NIDA-Modified ASSIST. Bivariate analysis and multiple logistic regression were carried out to identify factors associated with psychological distress.
Overall, 682 students participated in the study. The lifetime and current prevalence of any substance were 17.3% (95% CI 14.7%, 20.5%) and 11.7% (95% CI 9.0, 14.0), respectively. Although most substance use variablesgo a long way in decreasing substance use among this population.

This study was conducted on 504 students in Ardebil City, northwestern Iran from Oct 2017 to Jan 2018. The FLINT questionnaire was used to assessment the food and nutrition literacy. Socio-demographic characteristics and the existence of health care providers were collected using demographic questionnaire.

Homicide data during 2006 to 2016 were extracted from Iranian legal medicine organization. Trends of homicide incidence were summarized by annual percent change (APC) and average annual percent change (AAPC) using non-linear segmented regression model.
Totally, 26918 homicide cases occurred during the period from 2006 to 2016. The highest and lowest frequency was related to the 15-29 yr (46.5%) and 0-4 yr (1.5%) age groups, respectively. The homicide incidence rate of the country in 2016 was 2.81 per 100,000. The four provinces of Sistan & Baluchistan, Khuzestan, Kerman and Ilam had the highest incidence rate in 2016, respectively. During the study period, the incidence rate of homicide in Iran and men have been significantly decreased (APC -2.8% (95% CI -3.9, -1.7) and -3.2% (95% CI - 4.5, -1.8) respectively (P<0.001)).
The pattern of homicide rate has a downward trend in the country. Moreover, the varying observed trends in some provinces can be due to the variability in mental, geographical, socio-economic and cultural conditions in each region.

We found that early-stage pregnancy serum β-HCG hormone levels among euthyroid patients undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection were lower in subjects with thyroid autoimmunity than in those without thyroid autoimmunity. This result, reported for the first time in the literature on euthyroid pregnant women with thyroid autoimmunity, may be predictor of early pregnancy losses in pregnant women with thyroid autoimmunity. ) were greater than 0.999, limit of detection (LOD) were 4.00 ng/mL and 2.00 μg/g, limit of quantitation (LOQ) were 14.00 ng/mL and 6.00 μg/g, respectively. The extraction recovery rates were all greater than 50%, the interday and intraday precision were less than 20%. We designed a prospective, individual-controlled study to evaluate the effect of cardiac-based VNS (cbVNS) in a cohort of patients with generalized epilepsy (GE).
Twenty patients were included. They were followed up for six months under regular VNS (rVNS) and subsequently for six months during cbVNS. Stimulation parameters were 500 μsec, 30 Hz, and up to 2.5 mA. Seizure frequency was documented after two, four, and six months during the rVNS and cbVNS phases. Patients with at least 50% seizure frequency reduction were considered responders. The total and relative amount of stimulation cycles generated by both rVNS and cbVNS activation were documented. Findings during rVNS were compared to baseline and cbVNS data were compared to those during rVNS.
There was a significant decrease in mean seizure frequency (61% [95% CI, 48-74]; p < 0.001) during the rVNS phase compared to baseline. There was no additional significant (16% [95% CI, 4-35]; p = 0.097) mean seizure frequency reduction during cbVNS compare of the cbVNS feature did not add significantly to rVNS efficacy. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging data were first obtained from 54 patients with ALS and 54 healthy controls (HCs). Then the dynamic regional homogeneity (d-ReHo) was calculated and compared between the two groups. Correlation analyses between altered d-ReHo and clinical scores were further performed. Compared with HCs, ALS patients showed higher d-ReHo in the left lingual gyrus while lower d-ReHo in the left rectus gyrus and left parahippocampal gyrus. Moreover, the d-ReHo in the left lingual gyrus exhibited correlation with disease progression rate in ALS at a trend level. Our findings suggested that altered dynamics in intrinsic brain activity might be a potential biomarker for diagnosing of ALS.

Immune-related genes (IRGs) have been confirmed to have an important role in tumorigenesis and tumor microenvironment formation. Nevertheless, a systematic analysis of IRGs and their clinical significance in soft tissue sarcoma (STS) patients is lacking.
Gene expression files from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) were used to select differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Differentially expressed immune-related genes (DEIRGs) were determined by matching the DEG and ImmPort gene sets, which were evaluated by functional enrichment analysis. Unsupervised clustering of the identified DEIRGs was conducted, and associations with prognosis, the tumor microenvironment (TME), immune checkpoints, and immune cells were analyzed simultaneously. Two prognostic signatures, one for overall survival (OS) and one for progression free survival (PFS), were established and validated in an independent set. Finally, two transcription factor (TF)-IRG regulatory networks were constructl targets for immunotherapy.
This comprehensive analysis of the IRG landscape in soft tissue sarcoma revealed novel IRGs related to carcinogenesis and the immune microenvironment. Guanine-rich sequences are able to form complex RNA structures termed RNA G-quadruplexes in vitro. Because of their high stability, RNA G-quadruplexes are proposed to exist in vivo and are suggested to be associated with important biological relevance. However, there is a lack of direct evidence for RNA G-quadruplex formation in living eukaryotic cells. Therefore, it is unclear whether any purported functions are associated with the specific sequence content or the formation of an RNA G-quadruplex structure.
Using rG4-seq, we profile the landscape of those guanine-rich regions with the in vitro folding potential in the Arabidopsis transcriptome. We find a global enrichment of RNA G-quadruplexes with two G-quartets whereby the folding potential is strongly influenced by RNA secondary structures. Using in vitro and in vivo RNA chemical structure profiling, we determine that hundreds of RNA G-quadruplex structures are strongly folded in both Arabidopsis and rice, providing direct evidence of RNA G-quadruplex formation in living eukaryotic cells. Subsequent genetic and biochemical analyses show that RNA G-quadruplex folding is able to regulate translation and modulate plant growth.

The issue of whether or not splenic hilum lymph nodes (SHLN) should be excised in radical gastrectomy with D2 lymph node dissection remains controversial. In this study, we identified the clinicopathological features in patients with gastric cancer that could serve as predictive risk factors of SHLN metastasis.
We searched Medline, Embase, PubMed, and Web of Science databases from inception to May 2020 and consulted the related references. Overall, 15 articles evaluating a total of 4377 patients were included for study. The odds ratios (OR) of each risk factor and corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CI) were determined using the Revman 5.3 software.
Our meta-analysis revealed tumor size greater than 5 cm (p < 0.01), tumor localization in the greater curvature (p < 0.01), diffuse type (Lauren's classification) (p < 0.01), Borrmann types 3-4 (p < 0.01), poor differentiation and undifferentiation (p < 0.01), depth of invasion T3-T4 (p < 0.01), number of lymph node metastases N2-N3 (p < 0.01), distant metastasis M1 (p < 0.01), TNM stages 3-4 (p < 0.01), vascular invasion (p = 0.01), and lymphatic invasion (p < 0.01) as potential risk factors of SHLN metastasis. Moreover, positivity of Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4sa, 4sb, 4d, 6, 7, 9, 11, and 16 lymph nodes for metastasis was strongly associated with SHLN metastasis.

Gene expression files from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx) were used to select differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Differentially expressed immune-related genes (DEIRGs) were determined by matching the DEG and ImmPort gene sets, which were evaluated by functional enrichment analysis. Unsupervised clustering of the identified DEIRGs was conducted, and associations with prognosis, the tumor microenvironment (TME), immune checkpoints, and immune cells were analyzed simultaneously. Two prognostic signatures, one for overall survival (OS) and one for progression free survival (PFS), were established and validated in an independent set. Finally, two transcription factor (TF)-IRG regulatory networks were constructl targets for immunotherapy. This comprehensive analysis of the IRG landscape in soft tissue sarcoma revealed novel IRGs related to carcinogenesis and the immune microenvironment. In this study, we identified the clinicopathological features in patients with gastric cancer that could serve as predictive risk factors of SHLN metastasis. We searched Medline, Embase, PubMed, and Web of Science databases from inception to May 2020 and consulted the related references. Overall, 15 articles evaluating a total of 4377 patients were included for study. The odds ratios (OR) of each risk factor and corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CI) were determined using the Revman 5.3 software. The study was conducted at a single tertiary care center, Boston Medical Center. A retained tympanostomy tube was defined as in place for more than two years requiring removal in the operating room. Cases were matched to two controls and assessed for the following factors indication for tympanostomy tube insertion, frequency of otitis media and otorrhea after tympanostomy tube insertion, duration tympanostomy tubes were in place, numbered set of tympanostomy tubes, sinopulmonary conditions, and adenoidectomy status prior to tympanostomy tube removal or extrusion.
46 cases were identified and matched to 92 controls. Cases had a significantly longer tympanostomy tube duration (3.273, IQR 1.099 vs 1.611, IQR 0.894 years, p<0.001). The indication for tympanostomy tube placement for cases compared to controls was significantly more likely to be recurrent otitis media only (odds ratio 2.36, CI 1.121 to 5.003). A multiple logistic regression model was performed with the indication for tympanostomy tube placement (chronic or recurrent otitis media) and a history of more than two sets of tympanostomy tubes. Estimation of the contributions of ammonia sources is very challenging in the urban atmosphere. Stable nitrogen isotope ratio (δ15N) measurements have shown that urban aerosol NH4+ and gaseous NH3 are derived from fossil fuel combustion-related (FF) sources, such as coal combustion, NH3 slip, and vehicle exhaust, and volatilization-related sources, such as agriculture and urban water volatilization. Biomass burning (BB) sources, especially residential biofuel, can produce vast quantities of NH3 and other pollutants and may greatly influence air quality and contribute to increased urban NH3 emissions. In the present study, we continually collected PM2.5 samples at three urban sites in Central China during autumn and analyzed the major water-soluble ions and δ15N values of aerosol NH4+. The concentrations of NH4+ increased as the temperature decreased close to winter, whereas the δ15N values did not show this pattern. According to the Bayesian model after isotope fractionation correction, FF sources contributed to 56.4 ± 17.1%, 46.4 ± 18.2%, and 51.8 ± 14.9% of aerosol NH4+ in Nanchang, Wuhan, and Changsha, respectively, throughout autumn. The contributions from BB sources were 34.5 ± 20.4%, 46.4 ± 21.4%, and 40.4 ± 17.4% for Nanchang, Wuhan, and Changsha, respectively. We also found the fraction of aerosol NH4+ from BB increased in all three cities from September to November 2017, which was likely caused by increased heating demands with the decrease in temperature during the season. Furthermore, BB was responsible for a severe haze event (maximum PM2.5 of 205.69 μg/m3) in Nanchang. The role of cyst fluid carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) level in differentiating mucinous pancreatic cystic lesions (PCLs) is controversial. We investigated the role of cyst fluid CEA in differentiating low-risk (LR)-intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs) from high-risk (HR)-IPMNs and LR-mucinous cystic neoplasms (MCNs).
This was a retrospective study of 466 patients with PCLs who underwent endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needleaspiration over a 7-year period. On histology, low-grade dysplasia and intermediate-grade dysplasia were considered LR, whereas high-grade dysplasia and invasive carcinoma were considered HR.
Data on cyst fluid CEA levels were available for 50/102 mucinous PCLs with definitive diagnoses. The median CEA (range) levels were significantly higher in HR cysts than in LR cysts (2,624 [0.5-266,510] ng/mL vs. 100 [16.8-53,445]ng/mL, p=0.0012). The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) was 0.930 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.5-0.8; p<0.001) for differentiating LR-IPMNs from LR-MCNs. The AUROC was 0.921 (95% CI, 0.823-1.000; p<0.001) for differentiating LR-IPMNs from HR-IPMNs. Both had a CEA cutoff level of >100ng/mL, with a negative predictive value (NPV) of 100%.

This study aimed to develop effective approaches for predicting at-fault crash driver frequency using only city-level traffic enforcement predictors. A fusion deep learning approach combining a convolution neural network (CNN) and gated recurrent units (GRU) was developed to compare predictive performance with one econometric approach, two machine learning approaches, and another deep learning approach. The performance comparison was conducted for (1) at-fault crash driver frequency prediction tasks and (2) city-level crash risk prediction tasks. The proposed CNN-GRU achieved remarkable prediction accuracy and outperformed other approaches, while the other approaches also exhibited excellent performances. The results suggest that effective prediction approaches and appropriate traffic safety measures can be developed by considering both crash frequency and crash risk prediction tasks. Here, we tested the effectiveness of teaching longer texts to kindergarteners by repeated exposure in terms of long-term retention (6 months). A set of 28 rhyming sentences (224 words) were introduced, 3 in each session, and the increasingly longer text was practiced by either voiced recitation or listening. The rhymes were in a literary language, and word meaning in each new rhyme was elaborated when first introduced. Both groups (recitation and listening) showed good long-term retention, but the recitation group outperformed the listening group when assessed at 24 h, 1 month, and 6 months postintervention in terms of the recall rate, error rate, number of prompts required, and sequence fidelity. In the later assessments, the reciting group was the more fluent group in producing the rhymes. Moreover, at 6 months postintervention, the gist (content) of the rhymes and the meaning of vocabulary items from the texts were robustly retained, with an advantage for the recitation group. Thus, practice in affording multiple repetitions, specifically active recitation, resulted in fluent, effortless, and accurate recall of statements and their content. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) was 0.930 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.5-0.8; p<0.001) for differentiating LR-IPMNs from LR-MCNs. The AUROC was 0.921 (95% CI, 0.823-1.000; p<0.001) for differentiating LR-IPMNs from HR-IPMNs. Both had a CEA cutoff level of >100ng/mL, with a negative predictive value (NPV) of 100%. The performance comparison was conducted for (1) at-fault crash driver frequency prediction tasks and (2) city-level crash risk prediction tasks. Here, we tested the effectiveness of teaching longer texts to kindergarteners by repeated exposure in terms of long-term retention (6 months). A set of 28 rhyming sentences (224 words) were introduced, 3 in each session, and the increasingly longer text was practiced by either voiced recitation or listening. The rhymes were in a literary language, and word meaning in each new rhyme was elaborated when first introduced. Both groups (recitation and listening) showed good long-term retention, but the recitation group outperformed the listening group when assessed at 24 h, 1 month, and 6 months postintervention in terms of the recall rate, error rate, number of prompts required, and sequence fidelity. In the later assessments, the reciting group was the more fluent group in producing the rhymes. Moreover, at 6 months postintervention, the gist (content) of the rhymes and the meaning of vocabulary items from the texts were robustly retained, with an advantage for the recitation group. Thus, practice in affording multiple repetitions, specifically active recitation, resulted in fluent, effortless, and accurate recall of statements and their content. We show that the spatio-temporal patterns of erosion and deposition in debris-flow torrents are highly variable and dynamic. Check dams strongly control the spatial patterns of erosion and deposition. We identify a memory effect where erosion is strong at locations of strong deposition during previous flows and vice versa. Large sediment inputs from subcatchments initially result in new channel erosion through the subcatchment deposits and simultaneous upstream deposition, likely as a result of backwater effects. It is generally believed that erosion increases with debris-flow magnitude, but we show that there is a limit to debris-flow bulking set by channel geometry. After local acclimatization, DIO was induced by either a high-fat diet (HFD, 60% energy from fat) or western diet (WD, 42% energy from fat supplemented with fructose in the drinking water). All three groups on HFD gained a similar amount of total body weight, yet the relative amount of fat percentage and mass of inguinal- and epididymal white adipose tissue (iWAT and eWAT) was lower in C57BL/6JBomTac compared to the two other C57BL/6J-releated substrains. In contrast to HFD, the three groups on WD responded differently in terms of body weight gain, where C57BL/6J was particularly prone to WD. Here we performed a mutational study of the model protein MamM CTD, where we exchanged the native metal binding residues with different metal-binding amino acids. Using X-ray crystallography and Trp-fluorescence spectrometry, we studied the impact of these mutations on the CTD conformation in the presence of non-native metals. Our results reveal that the incorporation of such mutations alters the domain response to metals in vitro, as mutant forms of the CTD bind metals differently in terms of the composition of the binding sites and the CTD conformation. Therefore, the results demonstrate the direct influence of the CTD binding site composition on CDF proteins structure and hence, function, and constitute a first step for rational design of MamM for transporting different metals in vivo.

Kenny-Caffey syndrome (KCS) is a rare genetic condition characterized by growth retardation, bone abnormalities, and hypoparathyroidism. Herein, we report an unusual case of a 10-year-old girl with Kenny-Caffey syndrome type 2 (KCS2) presenting with vision impairment-suspected maculopathy and intellectual disability. Endocrine evaluation showed low calcium and high phosphorus plasma levels. Radiographic evaluation revealed short metacarpal bones and delayed bone age. Sequencing analysis showed a missense variant in FAM111A (R569H), unidentified in her parents. Better understanding of potential neurological and ophthalmological findings in KCS2 patients is important to improve quality of life of these patients as usually they exhibit long survival.The authors describe the clinical findings observed in a Brazilian girl that are suggestive of microphthalmia and linear skin defects (MLS) also known as MIDAS syndrome (OMIM #309801). She also presented with short stature, agenesis of corpus callosum, cleft palate, enamel defects, and genitourinary anomalies, which are rarely reported within the clinical spectrum of MLS. The 11,5 Mb deletion in Xp22.3p22.2 observed in the patient includes the entire HCCS gene (responsible for the MLS phenotype) and also encompasses several other genes involved with behavioral phenotypes, craniofacial and central nervous system development such as MID1, NLGN4X, AMELX , ARHGAP6, and TBL1X. The whole clinical features of our proband possibly represents an unusual MLS syndromic phenotype caused by an Xp22.3p22.2 continuous gene deletion.Epileptic spasm (ES) is one of the seizure types which is difficult to treat. Hypertension (HTN) and osteoporosis (OP) are common diseases that adversely affect the health-related quality of life among the elderly. However, there is a scarcity of literature on the association between HTN and OP.
The aims of this study were to investigate the association between HTN and antihypertensive drugs (AHT), with bone mineral density (BMD)
-scores, as well as to determine the status of bone quality in Saudi Arabia.
A retrospective study was conducted at King Fahd Hospital of the University, Khobar, Saudi Arabia, during 2016 to 2018. BMD was measured using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA).
-score values were used for the diagnosis of osteoporosis. HTN diagnosis and medications, laboratory, and radiology results were collected from the hospital record system.
Out of 1332 extracted profiles, 1103 (82.8%) were females. Based on the
-score, the majority of patients either had osteopenia (41.1%) or was osteoporotic (27.8%). The present study found that there is a significant increase in serum lipids and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) in the osteoporotic group when compared with normal and osteopenia groups. Furthermore, it was found that ALP and Ca levels were significant predictors for OP. Pearson's correlation test revealed a significant negative correlation between HTN and BMD
-score. However, the study reported a nonsignificant association between AHT and BMD
-score.
We conclude that controlling both HTN and dyslipidemia might improve bone health. Every osteoporotic patient should be screened for dyslipidemia. Early detection and appropriate management for OP are highly recommended in Saudi Arabia, especially amongst the high-risk group.

This study aims to examine ways in which COVID-19 has affected the bereavement experiences of parents whose children died of cancer before the pandemic.
Parents who participated in a survey-based study examining the early grief experience were invited to complete a semistructured interview. During the interview, which focused on examining the current support for parents and other family members within the first several years after the child's death, participants were asked how COVID-19 has impacted their life and bereavement.
Fifteen of 33 eligible parents completed the interview; 14 were white and non-Hispanic, five were males. Parents participated an average of 19 (range 12-34) months after their child's death. COVID-19 was addressed in 13 interviews. Eleven codes were used to describe interview segments; the most commonly situation. Cancer-related fatigue (CRF) is one of the most distressing and persistent symptoms reported during pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) therapy; however, information on the pathways underlying CRF severity is limited.
We conducted global metabolomics profiling of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples to provide insight into the underlying mechanisms of CRF.
Fatigue in pediatric ALL patients (2012-2017) was assessed during postinduction therapy approximately six months after diagnosis. Postinduction CSF was collected from 171 participants, comprising discovery (n=86) and replication (n=85) cohorts. We also conducted secondary validation using diagnostic CSF from 48 replication cohort participants. CSF metabolomic profiling was performed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (MS) and liquid chromatography-MS/MS. Kendall's rank correlation was used to evaluate associations between metabolite abundance and CRF. False discovery rate was used to account for multiple comparisons.

This cross-national, interdisciplinary, collaborative study investigated provider attitudes about, and practices for, managing (assessing and treating) SCD pain.
We conducted 111 quantitative surveys and 52 semistructured interviews with health-care providers caring for adults and/or children with SCD in Cameroon, Jamaica, and the U.S.
Applying Haywood's scale for assessing SCD provider attitudes, the Jamaica site scored lower on "Negative Attitudes" than the Cameroonian and U.S. sites (P=0.03 and<0.001, respectively). Providers at the U.S. site scored lower on "Positive Attitudes" than other sites (P < 0.001). "Red Flag" scores at the Cameroon sites were lower than at other sites (P<0.001). Qualitative results across all three sites describe the current practices for SCD pain management, as well as the challenges surrounding management for health providers, including pain subjectivity, patient-provider and parent-provider relationships, resource availability, perceptions of drug-seeking behavior, and adherence. Providers also spontaneously offered solutions to reported challenges.
Overall, findings reveal that SCD provider attitudes toward their patients differed across sites, yet at all three sites, treating SCD pain is multidimensional.

In this stressed group, patients reported occurrence rates for depression (71.2%), anxiety (78.0%), sleep dimic will likely impact cancer care for an indefinite period, clinicians must exhibit increased vigilance in their assessments of patients' level of stress and symptom burden. The aim of this study is to develop a pre-employment questionnaire to assess readiness for a reablement approach to care as a step towards developing a reablement culture across organisations. A questionnaire based on activities of daily living (ADL), developed by the research team in consultation with a local community-based care organisation, was completed by 166 staff members at a community-based care organisation in Tasmania across several timepoints during and following reablement education sessions in 2018. The scores from these questionnaires were utilised to develop a questionnaire appropriate for determining readiness for reablement prior to employment within the organisation. Over a period of twelve months, a total of 407 Reablement Readiness Questionnaires were submitted by staff, indicating high levels of willingness to engage in reablement prior to and following the education sessions. Exploratory factor analyses were performed, and the construct validity and internal consistency of the emerging factors were assessed. An exploratory factor analysis indicated that ADL, in relation to reablement, consist of three dimensions-Lifestyle, My body and Connecting. The corresponding questions were subsequently built into an online questionnaire for pre-employment use. This questionnaire also has potential benefit in recruitment of staff to other community service organisations, to ascertain their readiness for reablement prior to beginning a variety of different roles within client care and support.Lead halide perovskites are considered to be most promising photovoltaic materials. Here, we measure ionic and electronic transport properties and investigate various cation and anion substitutions with a special eye on their photo-ionic effect, following our previous study on CH3 NH3 PbI3 , where we found that light enhances not only electronic but also ionic conductivities. We find that this phenomenon is very sensitive to the nature of the halide, while the cationic substitutions are less relevant. Based on the observation that the ionic conductivity enhancement found for iodide perovskites is significantly weakened by bromide substitution, we provide a chemical rationale for the photo-demixing in mixed halide compositions.
Social norms regarding substance use predict substance use behaviors. In a sample of jailed women with alcohol use disorders (AUDs), we compared (i) jailed women's perceptions of the US women population's rates of substance use, with US women's actual rates of substance use; (ii) jailed women's perceived rates of substance use by US women, with their perceptions of use by their own friends; and (iii) US women's actual rates of substance use, with observed sample substance use rates.
Participants were 205 jailed women who met criteria for an AUD. We used the 1-sample or dependent-samples t-test to make the comparisons.
Participants overestimated US women's rates of substance use and incarceration rates. They perceived their friends' substance use as less common than US women's. The jailed women reported higher rates of their own substance use than actual rates by US women. In addition, jailed women self-reported less cannabis use, but more alcohol and cocaine use and cigarette smoking, than they perceived their friends to have used. The more women perceived their friends as drinking, the less they had a goal to drink less or abstain from drinking postincarceration; in contrast, perceptions of US women's drinking were not related to personal goals for drinking.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease requiring patients to take multiple medications per day. Multiple barriers exist affecting access and adherence. Studies have demonstrated the positive outcomes of pharmacist involvement in CF care. The purpose of this study is to characterize the impact of pharmacy technicians on medication access in the care of CF patients.
A retrospective review and analysis of patient medication profiles for patients followed by the integrated pharmacy care process model was performed. Two electronic prescription pathways with pharmacy technician involvement were analyzed. One pathway using a specialty pharmacy CF pharmacy technician (SP technician) examined CF specialty medication delivery times. The other pathway examined the impact of the clinic-based CF pharmacy technician (CB technician) on the number of filling pharmacies for patients.
One-hundred and fifty-three patients met inclusion criteria in the CF specialty medication delivery analysis, and 56 patients met inclusion criteria filling pharmacy analysis.
