Little is known, however, about how people who inject drugs (PWID) may modify their drug use behaviors after suspected fentanyl contamination in their drugs. We conducted a cross-sectional survey among 105 opioid-dependent PWID enrolled in a methadone maintenance program. We assessed their willingness to engage in various harm reduction methods (i.e., slowing down drug use, not using drugs, carrying naloxone, using with someone who has naloxone) after suspected fentanyl contamination of their drugs. In a multivariable analysis, participants who were white, low-income, polysubstance users, and had previously experienced an overdose or had previously administered naloxone were more likely to report a willingness to engage in harm reduction measures. These findings provide an evidence-based understanding of PWID's engagement in harm reduction behaviors after suspecting potential fentanyl exposure as well as a basis for tailoring intervention strategies in the context of fentanyl-adulterated markets.The aim of this study was to describe the circumstances surrounding firework-related deaths in Denmark, locate similarities and compare findings to the other known literature. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of varying concentrations of water-soluble 17β estradiol exposure on the external morphology of Bluegill. An experiment was set up where fish were individually maintained in 10-g tanks and exposed to 17β estradiol concentrations of 40 and 80 ng/L or no 17β estradiol exposure (the control). Fish were exposed for 21 days, with 17β estradiol replenished each week to account for 17β estradiol half-life. Fish were photographed laterally before and after the 21-day exposure to 17β estradiol. Landmark-based geometric morphometrics were conducted in MorphoJ and canonical variate and discriminant function analysis were used to compare the morphological changes in the fish under 17β estradiol exposure. The results showed that 17β estradiol exposure caused male dimorphic characters to change in Bluegill by becoming less prevalent. Specifically, there was a narrowing of the caudal peduncle, smaller nape protrusion, reduced opercular flap and pectoral fin, and a deeper body in the exposed groups compared with control fish under both concentrations. This research highlights the widespread effects of 17β estradiol on fish health beyond the reproductive system, which could have important conservation implications by affecting mate selection and reducing reproductive success.Soil contamination by heavy metals is one of the major abiotic stresses that cause retarded plant growth and low productivity. Among the heavy metals, excessive accumulations of zinc (Zn) cause toxicity to plants. The toxicity caused by Zn could be managed by application of Zn-tolerant plant growth-promoting (PGP) bacteria. In this study, five Zn-tolerant bacteria (100-400 mg-1 Zn resistant) were selected and identified as Lysinibacillus spp. based on 16S rRNA gene sequencing. The PGP properties of the Lysinibacillus spp. showed the production of indole acetic acid (60.0-84.0 μg/ml) and siderophore, as well as solubilization of potassium. Furthermore, the isolates were evaluated under greenhouse condition with 2 g kg-1 Zn stress and without Zn stress along with control on Zea mays. The results showed that Lysinibacillus spp. coated seeds enhanced plant growth attributes and biomass yield in both conditions compared with control plants. The enhancement of root growth ranged from 49.2 to 148.6% and shoot length from 83.3 to 111.7% under Zn-stressed soils. Also, the inoculated seedlings substantially enhanced chlorophyll a and b, proline, total phenol, and ascorbic acid. The uptake of Zn by maize root ranged from 31.5 to 210.0% compared with control plants. Therefore, this study suggested that the tested Zn-tolerant Lysinibacillus spp. may be used for cultivation of Z. mays in Zn-contaminated agricultural lands.

Combining PrEP and condoms was more often chosen for sex acts with casual partners (18%, n = 6829/37 317) than with steady partners (5%, n = 614/11 632) and was linked to, for example, higher perceived vulnerability for sexually transmitted infections or HIV and avoidance of PrEP disclosure. Condoms only was uncommon but occurred particularly among edPrEP users (4%, n = 379/8695). Applying neither strategy was common among edPrEP users with steady partners (25%, n = 538/2122) and was motivated by low perceived HIV risk.
Condoms remain a viable option for PrEP users in certain settings. Condoms were applied in higher risk settings, to avoid PrEP disclosure, or as substitute for PrEP, especially among edPrEP users.

Short-read next-generation sequencing (NGS) has been implemented to study the resistance profile of HIV as it provides a higher sensitivity than Sanger sequencing. However, short-reads only generates a consensus view of the viral population rather than a reconstruction of the viral haplotypes. In this study, we evaluated the resistance profile of HIV quasispecies in patients undergoing treatment failure using SMRT sequencing.
Whole-pol RT-PCR was performed on viral RNA extracted from plasma samples of 38 HIV-positive individuals undergoing treatment failure, and sequenced in the RSII instrument. Error correction and viral haplotype phasing was performed with the Multilayer Directed Phasing and Sequencing (MDPSeq) algorithm. Presence of resistance mutations reported by the IAS-USA in 2017 was assessed using an in-house script.
The SMRT sequencing-based test detected 131/134 resistance mutations previously detected using a Sanger sequencing-based test. However, the SMRT test also identified seven additional mutations present at an estimated frequency lower than 30%. The intra-host phylogenetic analysis showed that seven samples harbored at least one resistance variant at 20--80% frequency. The haplotype-resolved sequencing revealed viral diversification and selection of new resistance during suboptimal treatment, an overall trend toward selection and accumulation of new resistance mutations, as well as the co-existence of resistant and susceptible variants.
Our results validate the SMRT sequencing-based test for detection of HIV drug resistance. In addition, this method unraveled the complex dynamic of HIV quasispecies during treatment failure, which might have several implications on clinical management.

Rigorous analysis of the temporal relations between complications, how complications might cluster, and the implications of such clusters for children have not been published. Herein, we analyze the relationships between postoperative complications in children.
Data source Surgical operations included in the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program Pediatric Participant Use Data File from 2013 to 2017. The main outcomes measure was presence of 1 or more postoperative complications within 30 days of surgery. Operations followed by multiple complications were analyzed using network analysis to study prevalence, timing, and co-occurrences of clusters of complications.
This study cohort consisted of 432,090 operations; 388,738 (89.97%) had nrs and are not independent.The extreme disturbances caused by the COVID -19 pandemic on our academic medical centers compounded by a recurrent surge of violence against people of color have reopened our wounds exposing fragility, inequality, and continued racial disparities in society and health. At the center of this severe institutional disruption, leaders will be compelled to take action to keep their constituents and patients safe and their hospitals and departments afloat during and after a pandemic, all while simultaneously addressing and implementing the cultural changes required to eliminate systemic racism and discrimination. Organizational disruptions of this magnitude will naturally test one's principles, loyalties and responsibilities while challenging the practical burdens of leadership. If the goal of responding to these upheavals is to bring them to resolution and ultimately to bring about organizational change for the better, ethical leadership is critical. Applying ethical principles allows leaders to chart clear paths to solutions both in the short and long term. We review the principles of ethical leadership exemplified by a case illustration and provide a novel resource to help ensure ethical leadership in academic medicine and beyond.
To isolate heat exposure as a cause of cognitive impairment and increased subjective workload in burns surgical teams.
Raising ambient temperature of the operating room can improve burns patient outcomes, but risks increased cognitive impairment and workload of surgical team members. Prior research indicates ambient heat exposure depletes physiological and cognitive resources, but these findings have not been studied in the context of burns surgical teams.
Seventeen surgical team members completed two surgery simulations of similar complexities in a hot and in a normothermic operating room. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/alexidine-dihydrochloride.html During each simulation, participants completed multiple cognitive tests to assess cognitive functioning and the SURG-TLX to self-assess workload. Order effects, core body temperature changes due to menstruation, and circadian rhythms were controlled for in the experimental design. Descriptive statistics, correlations, and mixed ANOVAs were performed to assess relationships between ambient heat exposure with cognitive functioning and perceived workload.

Beta-hemolytic streptococci, particularly S. pyogenes (group A streptococci (GAS)) but also S. dysgalactiae subsp. equisimilis (SDSE, most group G and C streptococcus), are the main causative agents of monomicrobial NSTIs and certain types, such as emm1 and emm3, are over-represented in NSTI cases. An arsenal of bacterial virulence factors contribute to disease pathogenesis, which is a complex and multifactorial process. In this chapter, we summarize data that have provided mechanistic and immuno-pathologic insight into host-pathogens interactions that contribute to tissue pathology in streptococcal NSTIs. It has been used as adjunctive therapy in critically ill patients with severe infections, i.e. sepsis, septic shock, and necrotizing soft tissue infections. IVIG has been used for patients with severe invasive group A streptococcal infection since the early nineties and off-label use of IVIG for necrotizing soft tissue infections is common. It is also used for a variety of autoimmune, inflammatory, and immunodeficiency diseases. A meta-analysis of the clinical studies available for IVIG use in group A streptococcal toxic shock syndrome indicates a survival benefit. A blinded, placebo-controlled clinical trial (INSTINCT) assessed the effect of IVIG in 100 intensive care unit patients with necrotizing soft tissue infections, including all bacterial etiologies. The study did not demonstrate any effect on self-reported physical functioning at 6 months. In this chapter, we review the mechanisms of action of IVIG and the clinical studies that are available for necrotizing soft tissue infections as well as severe group A streptococcal infections.Necrotizing soft tissue infections (NSTIs) are severe, life-threatening infections, and early therapeutic intervention is essential. Prompt administration of potent antimicrobial agents is pivotal, but inadequate empirical therapy is unfortunately common. Optimization of the antibiotic treatment strategy in NSTIs requires consideration of local epidemiology of causative pathogens and antimicrobial resistance patterns, knowledge on common pathogenetic mechanisms in NSTIs, and adaptations to pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic physiological changes in critically ill patients. In the present article we address all these issues, as well as review and compare contemporary guidelines for antimicrobial treatment of NSTIs from around the world.β-hemolytic streptococci are major causes of necrotizing soft tissue infections (NSTIs), Streptococcus pyogenes (group A streptococcus; GAS) in particular. NSTIs caused by Streptococcus dysgalactiae (SD) have also been reported. In the INFECT cohort of 409 NSTIs patients, more than a third of the cases were caused by GAS (31%) or SD (7%). Risk factors of streptococcal NSTIs compared to streptococcal cellulitis have previously been largely unknown. The INFECT study confirmed blunt trauma as an important risk factor. In addition, absence of pre-existing skin lesions and a lower BMI were associated with NSTIs. The study also confirmed that septic shock is more frequent in GAS cases than in other types of NSTIs. The addition of the Geenius assay to the IMASIDA HIV testing algorithm demonstrated that 792 (31.5%) of 2518 specimens were false-positive and reduced the proportion of HIV positive samples to 14.7% (1722/11690), demonstrating the importance of including a highly specific HIV test to confirm HIV diagnosis. HIV surveys exclusively based on EIA testing algorithm may result in misleading high prevalence results. Gestational diabetes mellitus is one of the causes of abnormal embryonic heart development, but the mechanism is still poor. This study investigated the regulatory mechanism and role of SOX11 in congenital heart abnormality in a hyperglycemic environment. Immunohistochemistry, Western blotting, and quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) showed decreased SOX11 protein and messenger RNA (mRNA) levels in the heart tissue of diabetic offspring compared with the control group. A Sequenom EpiTYPER MassArray showed that methylation sites upstream in SOX11 region 1 were increased in the diabetic group compared with the control group. Luciferase reporter assays and qRT-PCR showed that Dnmt3b overexpression decreased SOX11 promoter activity and its mRNA level, whereas Dnmt3a had little effect on regulating SOX11 expression. Furthermore, we found that Dnmt3L cooperated with Dnmt3b to regulate SOX11 gene expression. Additionally, the function of SOX11 silencing was analyzed by using small interfering RNA-mediated knockdown. 3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide and apoptotic assays showed that SOX11 downregulation inhibited cell viability and induced apoptosis in cardiomyocytes. Overexpression of the SOX11 gene suppressed cardiomyocytes apoptosis after high glucose treatment. We identified a novel epigenetic regulatory mechanism of SOX11 during heart development in a hyperglycemic environment and revealed a distinct role of SOX11 in mediating cardiomyocytes viability and apoptosis.
Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) represents one of the most common infectious diseases among children. Diagnosis of CAP is mainly clinical. Chest X-ray (CXR) remains the gold standard for the diagnosis in severe or controversial conditions. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/a-196.html Recently, some authors have focused on the application of ultrasound in lung diseases but the role of lung ultrasound (LUS) in the diagnosis of CAP is still debated. We aimed to study the concordance between LUS and CXR in evaluating specific signs of CAP. As a secondary aim, we sought to determine the sensitivity and specificity of LUS in CAP diagnosis compared with CXR. Finally, we evaluated the role of LUS during the follow up.
We enrolled 68 children (<16years old) hospitalized from October 2018 to September 2019 with a clinical and radiological diagnosis of CAP (cases N = 41), or with no respiratory diseases (controls N = 27), in whom a CXR was performed for clinical indications. All the children underwent LUS during hospitalization. The average time needed to perform LUS was 5-10min for each child, and 19/41 cases were re-evaluated by LUS and CXR 30days after discharge.
Lung ultrasound confirmed CAP diagnosis in 40/41 patients. Concordance between the two techniques was K = 0.88 for the right lung and K = 0.70 for the left lung. Lung ultrasound showed a sensitivity of 97% and a specificity of 96% compared with CXR. At the follow up, sensitivity increased to 100% while specificity was 94%.

Among these, gastropods of the genus Littorina offer a unique system to study parallel phenotypic divergence resulting from adaptation to different habitats related with wave exposure. In this study, we focused on two Littorina fabalis ecotypes from Northern European shores and compared patterns of habitat-related phenotypic and genetic divergence across three different geographic levels (local, regional and global). Geometric morphometric analyses revealed that individuals from habitats moderately exposed to waves usually present a larger shell size with a wider aperture than those from sheltered habitats. The phenotypic clustering of L. fabalis by habitat across most locations (mainly in terms of shell size) support an important role of ecology in morphological divergence. A genome scan based on amplified fragment length polymorphisms (AFLPs) revealed a heterogeneous pattern of differentiation across the genome between populations from the two different habitats, suggesting ecotype divergence in the presence of gene flow. The contrasting patterns of genetic structure between nonoutlier and outlier loci, and the decreased sharing of outlier loci with geographic distance among locations are compatible with parallel evolution of phenotypic divergence, with an important contribution of gene flow and/or ancestral variation. Luciferase reporter assays and qRT-PCR showed that Dnmt3b overexpression decreased SOX11 promoter activity and its mRNA level, whereas Dnmt3a had little effect on regulating SOX11 expression. As a secondary aim, we sought to determine the sensitivity and specificity of LUS in CAP diagnosis compared with CXR. Finally, we evaluated the role of LUS during the follow up. We enrolled 68 children (<16years old) hospitalized from October 2018 to September 2019 with a clinical and radiological diagnosis of CAP (cases N = 41), or with no respiratory diseases (controls N = 27), in whom a CXR was performed for clinical indications. All the children underwent LUS during hospitalization. The average time needed to perform LUS was 5-10min for each child, and 19/41 cases were re-evaluated by LUS and CXR 30days after discharge. Lung ultrasound confirmed CAP diagnosis in 40/41 patients. Concordance between the two techniques was K = 0.88 for the right lung and K = 0.70 for the left lung. Among these, gastropods of the genus Littorina offer a unique system to study parallel phenotypic divergence resulting from adaptation to different habitats related with wave exposure. In this study, we focused on two Littorina fabalis ecotypes from Northern European shores and compared patterns of habitat-related phenotypic and genetic divergence across three different geographic levels (local, regional and global). Geometric morphometric analyses revealed that individuals from habitats moderately exposed to waves usually present a larger shell size with a wider aperture than those from sheltered habitats. The phenotypic clustering of L. fabalis by habitat across most locations (mainly in terms of shell size) support an important role of ecology in morphological divergence. A genome scan based on amplified fragment length polymorphisms (AFLPs) revealed a heterogeneous pattern of differentiation across the genome between populations from the two different habitats, suggesting ecotype divergence in the presence of gene flow. The contrasting patterns of genetic structure between nonoutlier and outlier loci, and the decreased sharing of outlier loci with geographic distance among locations are compatible with parallel evolution of phenotypic divergence, with an important contribution of gene flow and/or ancestral variation. One hypothesis is that alterations in the gastrointestinal microbiota composition, and thus alteration in the immune response, could play a role in FGR development. We performed an observational, prospective study in a subpopulation affected with FGR to elucidate the implications of this microbiota on the FGR condition.A total of 63 fetuses with FGR diagnosed in the third trimester as defined by the Delphi consensus, and 63 fetuses with fetal growth appropriate for gestational age will be recruited. Obstetric and nutritional information will be registered by means of specific questionnaires. We will collect maternal fecal samples between 30 to 36 weeks, intrapartum samples (maternal feces, maternal and cord blood) and postpartum samples (meconium and new-born feces at 6 weeks of life). Samples will be analyzed in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology II, Nutrition and Food Technology Institute of the University of Granada (UGR), for the determination of the gastrointestinal microbiota composition and its relationship with inflammatory biomarkers.This study will contribute to a better understanding of the influence of gastrointestinal microbiota and related inflammatory biomarkers in the development of FGR.Trial registration NCT04047966. For this 47-year-old male patient with recurrent laryngeal nerve schwannoma invading cervical and upper thoracic esophagus, cervical and upper thoracic esophageal reconstruction following tumor resection was needed DIAGNOSIS Pathologic result demonstrated recurrent laryngeal nerve schwannoma. Ultrasound examination detected a tumor (7 cm × 6 cm × 3 cm) located behind the right thyroid lobe, and contrast-enhanced computed tomography scan revealed that tumor was located between the cervical esophagus and trachea, and compressed these structures.
The tumor had a size of 7 cm × 6 cm × 3 cm, and the semi-circumference defect of the cervical and upper thoracic esophagus was about 7 cm in length after complete tumor resection. A 7 cm × 4 cm FPTAPF was designed and harvested for esophageal reconstruction.
The posterior tibial flap survived well and satisfactory recovery of esophageal function was obtained with no significant complications. No local tumor relapse was indicated by computed tomography during the 2-year postoperative follow-up.
This case highlights the stable performance of FPTAPF when used for the reconstruction of large esophageal window defect.

We present the case of a 10-month-old infant with dyspnea caused by a mass in the uvula.
The patient was diagnosed with a uvular epidermoid cyst via neck soft tissue X-ray and flexible laryngoscopy.
Emergency surgery was performed.
The patient recovered immediately after the operation and was discharged 1 day later.

However, it is currently unknown whether evocalcet produces more beneficial effects and fewer adverse events in patients with SHPT. Twelve patients underwent endoscopic resection, with one local recurrence detected during follow-up. Thirty patients (28 with d-NETs ≤10mm) underwent 'watch and wait' with resection only if tumours increased in size. The d-NETs in 28/30 patients remained stable or decreased in size over a median 27 months (IQR15-48, R3-98). In seven patients the d-NET was completely removed by avulsion during diagnostic biopsy and was not seen at subsequent endoscopies. Only two patients showed increased d-NET size during surveillance, of whom only one was fit for endoscopic resection. No NET-related deaths were documented during follow up. Conclusions All of the localised, ≤10mm, grade 1, non-functioning, non-ampullary d-NETs in this cohort behaved indolently with very low risks of progression and no tumour-related deaths. 'Watch and wait' therefore appears to be a safe alternative management strategy for selected d-NETs.
Balloon compression of the gasserian ganglion has been a well-established percutaneous treatment of trigeminal neuralgia since the 1980s. However, puncture of the foramen ovale by conventional single-plane fluoroscopy can be difficult in cases of local anatomic abnormalities.
We present the case of a 49-year-old woman diagnosed with idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia refractory to pharmacological treatment. After failure of puncture by conventional fluoroscopy for percutaneous gasserian ganglion balloon compression due to a narrow foramen ovale, the patient was submitted to puncture guided by computed tomography.
Alternative imaging methods, such as computed tomography, should be considered when puncture of the foramen ovale by conventional single-plane fluoroscopy fails, to minimize the risk of potential complications triggered by frustrated puncture attempts.

Early life maltreatment (ELM) has a high risk of transmission across generations, known as "the cycle of abuse." ELM is also an important risk factor for developing mental disorders, and having a mental disorder increases the risk of child abuse. Both the abuse potential in mothers with ELM and in mothers with a history of mental disorders might be associated with a disturbed mother-child interaction.
The current study examined differences in emotional availability between mothers with a history of ELM and previous or current mental disorders (non-resilient), mothers with ELM without mental disorders (resilient), and control mothers without ELM and without mental disorders.
Thirty-three non-resilient mothers, 18 resilient mothers, and 37 control mothers and their 5- to 12-year-old children participated in a standardized mother-child interaction task. The electrophysiological properties of previously MRgFUS-sonicated thalamic neurons have not yet been described. We report on an ET patient who underwent an MRgFUS thalamotomy but experienced tremor recurrence. We expanded the MRgFUS-induced thalamic cavity using radiofrequency (RF), with good effect on the tremor but transient sensorimotor deficits and permanent ataxia. This is the first report of a patient undergoing RF thalamotomy after an unsuccessful MRgFUS thalamotomy. As we used microelectrode recording to guide the RF thalamotomy, we could also study for the first time the electrophysiological properties of previously sonicated thalamic neurons bordering the MRgFUS-induced cavity. These neurons displayed electrophysiological characteristics identical to those recorded from nonsonicated thalamic cells in ET patients. Hence, our findings support the widespread assumption that sonication below the necrotic threshold does not permanently alter neuronal function.
We aimed to investigate the pharmacokinetic properties and safety of melatonin administered by alternative routes of administration.

Blood samples were collected at specified time points up to 24 h following intravenous, intravesical, rectal, and vaginal administration, and up to 48 h following transdermal administration. Plasma melatonin concentrations were determined by radioimmunoassay. Sedation was evaluated by a simple reaction-time test, and sleepiness was assessed by the Karolinska Sleepiness Scale. Adverse events were registered for each route of administration.
Ten participants were included. We documented a mean (SD) time to maximal concentration of 51 (29) min for intravesical, 24 (20) min for rectal, 21 (8) h for transdermal, and 147 (56) min for vaginal administration. The mean (SD) elimination half-ve as relevant alternatives to standard oral melatonin therapy. Transdermal delivery of melatonin displayed an extended absorption and can be applied if prolonged effects are intended. Intravesical administration displayed, as expected, a very limited bioavailability. Melatonin administered by these routes of administration was safe.
Acne is a common condition. Sometimes acne or acne-like features are a part of autoinflammatory diseases such as PAPA spectrum disorders. Our objective wasto determine whether acne in PAPA spectrum disorders has specific phenotypic traits.
This is aliterature review on reported cases of patients with PAPA, PAMI, PASH, PAPASH, PsAPASH, PAC or PASS syndrome. Acne was classified into four categories moderate, severe, nodulocystic, acne fulminans.One hundred patients were included. Age of onset of acne and topography were the same as in acne vulgaris. Acne's phenotype was at least severe (including acne fulminans, nodulocystic and severe) in 83% of cases. Genetic mutations or variants with potential pathological significance were reported in 49 patients. The addition of isotretinoin to biotherapies was required to control acne in several patients.

We aimed to investigate the pharmacokinetic properties and safety of melatonin administered by alternative routes of administration. Moiré lattices formed in twisted van der Waals bilayers provide a unique, tunable platform to realize coupled electron or exciton lattices unavailable before. Classically activated macrophages contribute to the development of renal ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI). This study aimed to investigate the role of transient receptor potential ankyrin 1 (Trpa1), a regulator of macrophage activation, in IRI-induced acute kidney injury (AKI) by using the Trpa1 gene knockout (Trpa1-/-) mouse model.
Male 8-week-old Trpa1-/- **** and wild-type (WT) littermates were subjected to renal ischemia for 35 minutes by clamping bilateral renal pedicles under isoflurane anesthesia, and blood and tissue samples were collected 24 hours after reperfusion and analyzed with histological and molecular measurements.
Following IRI, Trpa1-/- **** developed more deteriorated biochemical and morphological signs of AKI when comparing with WT ****. More classically activated M1 macrophages were found in the kidneys of Trpa1-/- **** comparing with WT **** after IRI, while the counts of alternatively activated M2 macrophages in the kidney were similar between the 2 strains after IRI. Furthermore, significantly higher expression levels of proinflammatory markers including interleukin-1 beta and tumor necrosis factor alpha were detected in the kidney of Trpa1-/- **** compared with WT **** after IRI. The levels of TRPA1 protein in the kidney of WT **** were also decreased after IRI.
Our results show that ablation of Trpa1 exacerbates infiltration of classically activated macrophages, renal inflammation, and renal injury in **** after IRI. These findings suggest that activation of TRPA1 may protect against IRI-induced AKI via regulation of macrophage-mediated inflammatory pathway.

We observe an overall preference for collisions close to the N atom in the spin-orbit changing manifold, which is a direct consequence of the location of the unpaired electron on the potential energy surface. In addition, a prominent forward scattered feature is observed for intermediate, even rotational transitions when the atom approaches the molecule from the O-end. The appearance of this peak originates from an attractive well on the A' potential energy surface, which efficiently directs high impact parameter trajectories towards the region of high unpaired electron density near the N-end of the molecule.
