Negative urgency, rash action during negative mood states, is a strong predictor of risky behavior. However, its developmental antecedents remain largely unstudied. The current study tested whether childhood temperament served as a developmental antecedent to adolescent negative urgency. Participants (N=239) were from a longitudinal study oversampled for a family history of alcohol use disorder (AUD). Negative emotionality (anger and sadness reactivity) and effortful control were measured in childhood (5-8) and negative urgency in adolescence (13-18). Childhood anger reactivity was uniquely related to later negative urgency above and beyond sadness reactivity. Effortful control was not related to later negative urgency; however, a latent variable capturing the shared variance between childhood effortful control and anger reactivity was related to later negative urgency.COVID-19 continues to be an ongoing global threat. Autophagy induced by restrictive eating is an ideal inhibitor of microbiota overgrowth, as autophagy deprives microbiota of excessive nutrition for replication. Autophagy also attenuates inflammation. Therefore, as a precaution, the author suggests restoring good health in the elderly with the support from a diverse gut microbiome and daily regular food intake restriction, so as to lower the risk of developing into severe case even if they are infected by COVID-19.School districts and other service providers are increasingly aware of the substantial mental health needs of students experiencing family homelessness. Past findings are mixed regarding whether homelessness conveys unique risk beyond the risks associated with extreme poverty. With prospective longitudinal data on homelessness experiences across childhood, we utilized latent profile analysis as a person-centered approach to conceptualizing mental health outcomes in adolescence for 3,778 youth. We considered literal family homelessness as well as families living doubled-up, and we employed propensity score matching to identify a comparison group of non-homeless students balanced across a range of covariates to address systematic bias. Results indicated that students who experienced literal homelessness during childhood were significantly less likely to demonstrate profiles of resilience in mental health functioning. We considered our approach and findings in light of challenges and opportunities particularly relevant to the school context.The disruption caused by Covid-19 in the educational sector may last longer than originally predicted. To better understand the current situation, this article analyses the mental health status of university students during the pandemic and investigates the learning conditions needed to support students. The sample included 557 undergraduate students who took part in an online survey. Overall, the students reported coping well during lockdown but indicated that lecturers were challenged by distance teaching, which created some stress for the students.The purpose of this viewpoint is to consider the impact of the current Covid-19 crisis on the educational prospects of young children attending early childhood education and care (ECEC) settings. Studies show that health pandemics and environmental, political, and socio-economic crises jeopardize children's development and education. It is likely that for the immediate future, young children will continue to experience emotional and psychological stress. A curriculum that does not take into consideration a pandemic of the scale we are witnessing today creates unnecessary pressure and anxiety not just on young children but also on the adults who care for and teach them. This article outlines actions to ensure quality education for all as suggested by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The response of ECEC curricula to the pandemic may potentially act as a catalyst for educational change.The coronavirus crisis has appeared like some vast, cruel sociological experiment. It has confined people to their homes, radically disturbed their taken-for-granted knowledge and beliefs, and forced them to alter behaviors once casually, even unthinkingly, employed in their everyday personal, working, and social lives. What has been learned? How might this experience stimulate a reimagining of the curriculum? More fundamentally, how might it lead to the development of a knowledgeable, intelligent, effective public, able to engage freely and equally in decision-making at all levels of social, cultural, political, and economic life, as a condition for personal freedom? This article explores the implications of "lockdown" or "confinement" to homes, which has suspended freedom of movement, limited the freedom to associate with others, and established rituals of hygiene regarding surfaces. These experiences of physical confinement and limitation of ordinary freedoms raise the central question of how to return to "normal" and, indeed, what will count as normal. In exploring the issues posed by these questions, this article offers an approach to pedagogical and curriculum practice that seeks to embed democratic practice at all levels of organization and interaction between individuals.

Optimal motor control requires the effective integration of multi-modal information. Visual information of movement performed by others even enhances potentials in the upper motor neurons through the mirror-neuron system. On the other hand, it is known that motor control is intimately associated with afferent proprioceptive information. Kinaesthetic information is also generated by passive, external-driven movements. In the context of sensory integration, it is an important question how such passive kinaesthetic information and visually perceived movements are integrated. We studied the effects of visual and kinaesthetic information in combination, as well as isolated, on sensorimotor integration, compared to a control condition. For this, we measured the change in the excitability of the motor cortex (M1) using low-intensity Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). We hypothesised that both visual motoneurons and kinaesthetic motoneurons enhance the excitability of motor responses. We found that passive wrist movements increase the motor excitability, suggesting that kinaesthetic motoneurons do exist. The kinaesthetic influence on the motor threshold was even stronger than the visual information. Moreover, the simultaneous visual and passive kinaesthetic information increased the cortical excitability more than each of them independently. Thus, for the first time, we found evidence for the integration of passive kinaesthetic- and visual-sensory stimuli.The suitability of pharmaceutical binders for continuous twin-screw wet granulation was investigated as the pharmaceutical industry is undergoing a switch from batch to continuous manufacturing. C6 compounds, markers of lipids peroxidation, were slightly higher in 36 h ethylene-treated samples than in control. P. frutescens methanol crude extract and its fractions (petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate, n-butanol fractions, and aqueous phase residue) were prepared by ultrasound-enzyme assisted extraction and liquid-liquid extraction. Among the samples, the ethyl acetate fraction possessed the high total phenolic (440.48 μg GAE/mg DE) and flavonoid content (455.22 μg RE/mg DE), the best antioxidant activity (the DPPH radical, ABTS radical, and superoxide anion scavenging activity, and ferric reducing antioxidant power were 1.71, 1.14, 2.40, 1.29, and 2.4 times higher than that of control Vc, respectively), the most powerful α-glucosidase inhibitory ability with the IC50 value of 190.03 μg/mL which was 2.2-folds higher than control acarbose, the strongest proliferative inhibitory ability against MCF-7 and HepG2 cell with the IC50 values of 37.92 and 13.43 μg/mL, which were considerable with control cisplatin, as well as certain inhibition abilities on acetylcholinesterase and tyrosinase. HPLC analysis showed that the luteolin, rosmarinic acid, rutin, and catechin were the dominant components of the ethyl acetate fraction. Animal experiments further demonstrated that the ethyl acetate fraction could significantly decrease the serum glucose level, food, and water intake of streptozotocin-induced diabetic SD rats, increase the body weight, modulate their serum levels of TC, TG, HDL-C, and LDL-C, improve the histopathology and glycogen accumulation in liver and intestinal tissue. Taken together, P. frutescens leaf exhibits excellent hypoglycemic activity in vitro and in vivo, and could be exploited as a source of natural antidiabetic agent.

A20 haploinsufficiency (HA20), a disease caused by loss-of-function TNFAIP3 mutations, manifests various autoinflammatory and/or autoimmune symptoms. Some cases of HA20 were initially diagnosed as very early onset inflammatory bowel disease (VEO-IBD). We performed whole-exome sequencing (WES) for a Japanese girl with infantile-onset IBD and a severe perianal lesion and detected a novel de novo 119 kb microdeletion containing only TNFAIP3 (arr[GRCh37] 6q23.3(138125829_138244816) × 1).Xylanolytic enzymes from glycoside hydrolase family 43 (GH43) are involved in the breakdown of hemicellulose, the second most abundant carbohydrate in plants. Here, we kinetically and mechanistically describe the non-reducing-end xylose-releasing exo-oligoxylanase activity and report the crystal structure of a native GH43 Michaelis complex with its substrate prior to hydrolysis. Two distinct calcium-stabilized conformations of the active site xylosyl unit are found, suggesting two alternative catalytic routes. These results are confirmed by QM/MM simulations that unveil the complete hydrolysis mechanism and identify two possible reaction pathways, involving different transition state conformations for the cleavage of xylooligosaccharides. Such catalytic conformational promiscuity in glycosidases is related to the open architecture of the active site and thus might be extended to other exo-acting enzymes. These findings expand the current general model of catalytic mechanism of glycosidases, a main reaction in nature, and impact on our understanding about their interaction with substrates and inhibitors.Significant advances during the past decades in the design and studies of Ru complexes with polypyridine ligands have led to the great development of molecular water oxidation catalysts and understanding on the O-O bond formation mechanisms. Here we report a Ru-based molecular water oxidation catalyst [Ru(bds)(pic)2] (Ru-bds; bds2- = 2,2'-bipyridine-6,6'-disulfonate) containing a tetradentate, dianionic sulfonate ligand at the equatorial position and two 4-picoline ligands at the axial positions. This Ru-bds catalyst electrochemically catalyzes water oxidation with turnover frequencies (TOF) of 160 and 12,900 s-1 under acidic and neutral conditions respectively, showing **** better performance than the state-of-art Ru-bda catalyst. Density functional theory calculations reveal that (i) under acidic conditions, the high valent Ru intermediate RuV=O featuring the 7-coordination configuration is involved in the O-O bond formation step; (ii) under neutral conditions, the seven-coordinate RuIV=O triggers the O-O bond formation; (iii) in both cases, the I2M (interaction of two M-O units) pathway is dominant over the WNA (water nucleophilic attack) pathway.All-day passive radiative cooling has recently attracted tremendous interest by reflecting sunlight and radiating heat to the ultracold outer space. While some progress has been made, it still remains big challenge in fabricating highly efficient and low-cost radiative coolers for all-day and all-climates. Herein, we report a hierarchically structured polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) film with a micropore array combined with random nanopores for highly efficient day- and nighttime passive radiative cooling. This hierarchically porous array PMMA film exhibits sufficiently high solar reflectance (0.95) and superior longwave infrared thermal emittance (0.98) and realizes subambient cooling of ~8.2 °C during the night and ~6.0 °C to ~8.9 °C during midday with an average cooling power of ~85 W/m2 under solar intensity of ~900 W/m2, and promisingly ~5.5 °C even under solar intensity of ~930 W/m2 and relative humidity of ~64% in hot and moist climate. A20 haploinsufficiency (HA20), a disease caused by loss-of-function TNFAIP3 mutations, manifests various autoinflammatory and/or autoimmune symptoms. Some cases of HA20 were initially diagnosed as very early onset inflammatory bowel disease (VEO-IBD). We performed whole-exome sequencing (WES) for a Japanese girl with infantile-onset IBD and a severe perianal lesion and detected a novel de novo 119 kb microdeletion containing only TNFAIP3 (arr[GRCh37] 6q23.3(138125829_138244816) × 1).Xylanolytic enzymes from glycoside hydrolase family 43 (GH43) are involved in the breakdown of hemicellulose, the second most abundant carbohydrate in plants. Here, we kinetically and mechanistically describe the non-reducing-end xylose-releasing exo-oligoxylanase activity and report the crystal structure of a native GH43 Michaelis complex with its substrate prior to hydrolysis. Two distinct calcium-stabilized conformations of the active site xylosyl unit are found, suggesting two alternative catalytic routes. These results are confirmed by QM/MM simulations that unveil the complete hydrolysis mechanism and identify two possible reaction pathways, involving different transition state conformations for the cleavage of xylooligosaccharides. Such catalytic conformational promiscuity in glycosidases is related to the open architecture of the active site and thus might be extended to other exo-acting enzymes. Here we report a Ru-based molecular water oxidation catalyst [Ru(bds)(pic)2] (Ru-bds; bds2- = 2,2'-bipyridine-6,6'-disulfonate) containing a tetradentate, dianionic sulfonate ligand at the equatorial position and two 4-picoline ligands at the axial positions. This Ru-bds catalyst electrochemically catalyzes water oxidation with turnover frequencies (TOF) of 160 and 12,900 s-1 under acidic and neutral conditions respectively, showing much better performance than the state-of-art Ru-bda catalyst. Density functional theory calculations reveal that (i) under acidic conditions, the high valent Ru intermediate RuV=O featuring the 7-coordination configuration is involved in the O-O bond formation step; (ii) under neutral conditions, the seven-coordinate RuIV=O triggers the O-O bond formation; (iii) in both cases, the I2M (interaction of two M-O units) pathway is dominant over the WNA (water nucleophilic attack) pathway.All-day passive radiative cooling has recently attracted tremendous interest by reflecting sunlight and radiating heat to the ultracold outer space. This hierarchically porous array PMMA film exhibits sufficiently high solar reflectance (0.95) and superior longwave infrared thermal emittance (0.98) and realizes subambient cooling of ~8.2 °C during the night and ~6.0 °C to ~8.9 °C during midday with an average cooling power of ~85 W/m2 under solar intensity of ~900 W/m2, and promisingly ~5.5 °C even under solar intensity of ~930 W/m2 and relative humidity of ~64% in hot and moist climate. Sufficient and well-distributed active sites and highly conductive carbon matrix are two important factors to achieve highly efficient electrocatalysts. In this study, we report an adjusted metal-organic frameworks (MOF)-based route for the preparation of nitrogen-doped Fe/Co bimetallic electrocatalysts. With suitable Fe/Co molar ratio (Fe/Co = 1/4.15), Co nanoparticles (NPs) with mild oxidation state and Co3Fe7 alloys wrapped with thin graphene layers are embedded in an integrated and continuous carbon network. The corresponding FC@NCs-4.15 catalyst exhibits excellent oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity (onset potential (Eonset) of 0.94 V and half-wave potential (E1/2) of 0.84 V vs RHE) in alkaline medium, close to commercial Pt/C and superior to the other two FC@NCs. The desirable ORR performance results from the uniform distribution Co3Fe7 active sites, electron density modification from Co NPs to surrounding carbon layers, hierarchical pore structure with large surface area, low carbon content, high pyridinic and graphitic N components. The FC@NCs-4.15 also displays satisfactory methanol crossover tolerance and durability.The novel environment-friendly hexadecanoamide propyltrimethy lammonium chloride (NQAS16-3) surfactant with different amounts (0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1.0, 1.2 CEC) was firstly used to modify montmorillonite, and the obtained organomontmorillonite (N-Mt) with the amount of surfactant equal to 1.0 CEC was utilized to adsorb two β-blocker pollutants- Atenolol (ATE) and acebutolol (ACE). The experimental results indicated that the equilibrium adsorption capacity of N-Mt(the organo-montmorillonite that the amount of modifier was 1.0 CEC) for ATE and ACE was 93.47 mg/g and 84.55 mg/g, respectively, which was more than twice that of raw montmorillonite for two pollutants, the adsorption was better fitted with the pseudo-second-order model and Langmuir isotherms model, and the adsorption was the spontaneous and exothermic process. Moreover, combining with the Zeta potential values of N-Mt, and with the help of Multiwfn wave function program based on density functional theory (DFT), the electrostatic interaction and the hydrophobic partitioning between N-Mt and two pollutant molecules were verified, p-π/π interaction between NQAS16-3 and ATE (or ACE) may be contributed to the increasing adsorption capacity of N-Mt for two β-blocker pollutants. The HBG underwent the progressive intrafibrillar mineralization as well as the increase in stiffness after immersed in supersaturated calcium phosphate solution, osteogenic medium, or after being implanted into a murine calvarial bone defect. The HBG promoted in-situ bone regeneration via stimulating osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stromal cells (****). Hippo signaling was inhibited when **** were cultured on the self-mineralized Hogressive self-mineralization and matrix stiffening in situ. The **** enhanced the water maintenance on the cornea, and the instillation of **** increased the lacrimal fluid volume and prolonged the tear film breakup time without an increase in total mucin contents in the lacrimal fluid of the normal rabbits. The therapeutic potential of the **** for dry eye was evaluated using an N-acetylcysteine-treated rabbit model, and, in our investigation, we found that **** enhanced the volume of lacrimal fluid and promoted an improvement in the tear film breakup levels. We present the results of a clinical study on prophylaxis of cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity in patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis undergoing cytoreduction and hyperthermic intraperitoneal intraoperative chemotherapy (HIPEC-cisplatin). Prophylaxis was with imipenem/cilastatin. Cilastatin is a selective inhibitor of renal dehydropeptidase I in the proximal renal tubule cells that can reduce the nephrotoxicity of cisplatin. Unfortunately, cilastatin is not currently marketed alone, and can only be administered in combination with imipenem. The study has a retrospective part that serves as a control (n = 99 patients receiving standard surgical prophylaxis) and a prospective part with imipenem/cilastatin prophylaxis corresponding to the study group (n = 85 patients). In both groups, we collected specific data on preoperative risk factors of renal damage, fluid management, hemodynamic control, and urine volume during surgery (including the hyperthermic chemotherapy perfusion), as well as data on hemodynamic and renal function during the first seven days after surgery. The main finding of the study is that cilastatin may exert a nephroprotective effect in patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis undergoing cytoreduction and hyperthermic intraperitoneal cisplatin perfusion. Creatinine values remained lower than in the control group (ANOVA test, p = 0.037). This translates into easier management of these patients in the postoperative period, with significantly shorter intensive care unit (ICU) and hospital stay.Dabai pulp oil (DPO) is new oil extracted from the pulp of Canarium odontophyllum. The quality and efficacy of DPO are needed to promote its potential as a new alternative fat. Therefore, we investigate the quality of DPO, which includes moisture and volatile content (MVC), free fatty acid content (FFA), iodine value (IV), and peroxide value (PV). Furthermore, we evaluate the efficacy of DPO against hypercholesterolemia elicited by a high-cholesterol diet in rats. The ****of DPO was less then 0.001 ± 0.00%. Next, the FFA in DPO was 2.57 ± 0.03%, and the IV of DPO was 53.74 ± 0.08 g iodine/100 g oil. Meanwhile, the PV of DPO was 4.97 ± 0.00 mEq/kg. In addition, the production of airway mucus, the first line of body defense, is impaired in those patients. Therefore, in this study, amorphous nanoparticles of the magnesium salt of polyP (Mg-polyP-NP), matching the size of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, were prepared and loaded with the secondary plant metabolite quercetin or with dexamethasone to study their effects on the respiratory epithelium using human alveolar basal epithelial A549 cells as a model. In this study, we prepared an MPC polymer (MPCP) using radical polymerization with co-monomers-MPC/Stearyl Methacrylate/N,N-dimethylacrylamide-and evaluated the MPCP's usefulness for dry eye treatment using a rabbit model treated with N-acetylcysteine. The MPCP particle size was 50-250 nm, and the form was similar to that of micelles. The MPCP viscosity (approximately 0.95 mPa·s) was 1.17-fold that of purified water, and a decrease in the transepithelial electrical resistance value (corneal damage) was not observed in the immortalized human corneal epithelial cell line HCE-T cell (HCE-T cell layer). The MPCP enhanced the water maintenance on the cornea, and the instillation of MPCP increased the lacrimal fluid volume and prolonged the tear film breakup time without an increase in total mucin contents in the lacrimal fluid of the normal rabbits. The therapeutic potential of the MPCP for dry eye was evaluated using an N-acetylcysteine-treated rabbit model, and, in our investigation, we found that MPCP enhanced the volume of lacrimal fluid and promoted an improvement in the tear film breakup levels. Prophylaxis was with imipenem/cilastatin. Cilastatin is a selective inhibitor of renal dehydropeptidase I in the proximal renal tubule cells that can reduce the nephrotoxicity of cisplatin. Unfortunately, cilastatin is not currently marketed alone, and can only be administered in combination with imipenem. The study has a retrospective part that serves as a control (n = 99 patients receiving standard surgical prophylaxis) and a prospective part with imipenem/cilastatin prophylaxis corresponding to the study group (n = 85 patients). In both groups, we collected specific data on preoperative risk factors of renal damage, fluid management, hemodynamic control, and urine volume during surgery (including the hyperthermic chemotherapy perfusion), as well as data on hemodynamic and renal function during the first seven days after surgery. The main finding of the study is that cilastatin may exert a nephroprotective effect in patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis undergoing cytoreduction and hyperthermic intraperitoneal cisplatin perfusion. Creatinine values remained lower than in the control group (ANOVA test, p = 0.037). The quality and efficacy of DPO are needed to promote its potential as a new alternative fat. Therefore, we investigate the quality of DPO, which includes moisture and volatile content (MVC), free fatty acid content (FFA), iodine value (IV), and peroxide value (PV). Furthermore, we evaluate the efficacy of DPO against hypercholesterolemia elicited by a high-cholesterol diet in rats. The MVC of DPO was less then 0.001 ± 0.00%. Next, the FFA in DPO was 2.57 ± 0.03%, and the IV of DPO was 53.74 ± 0.08 g iodine/100 g oil. Meanwhile, the PV of DPO was 4.97 ± 0.00 mEq/kg. Supplementation of DPO in hypercholesterolemic rats for 30 days revealed the hypocholesterolemic effect (significant reduction of total cholesterol, triglyceride, and 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase) accompanied by a significant reduction of inflammatory markers (C-reactive protein, interleukin-6 and tumour necrosis factor-α), and lipid peroxidation (MDA). The organic electronic ion pump (OEIP) delivers ions and charged drugs from a source electrolyte, through a charge-selective membrane, to a target electrolyte upon an electric bias. OEIPs have successfully delivered γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter that reduces neuronal excitations, in vitro, and in brain tissue to terminate induced epileptic seizures. However, during pumping, protons (H+), which exhibit higher ionic mobility than GABA, are also delivered and may potentially cause side effects due to large local changes in pH. To reduce the proton transfer, we introduced proton traps along the selective channel membrane. The traps are based on palladium (Pd) electrodes, which selectively absorb protons into their structure. The proton-trapping Pd-OEIP improves the overall performance of the current state-of-the-art OEIP, namely, its temporal resolution, efficiency, selectivity, and dosage precision.Obesity sometimes seems protective in disease. We demonstrate this approach using a patient-derived cerebral MPS carrying the PD-causing A53T mutation, gaining two important findings (i) that systemic interaction enhances features of in vivo-like behavior of cerebral MPSs, and (ii) that microbiome-associated short-chain fatty acids increase expression of pathology-associated pathways in PD.The efficacy of cancer immunotherapy is dictated by CD8+ T cell infiltration and the nature of the tumor microenvironment (TME). By inflaming the TME to favor CD8+ T cell immunity, radiation is now widely considered as a neoadjuvant for immunomodulation. Here, we observed that local irradiation enhances the infiltration of intratumoral eosinophils, and depletion of eosinophil dampens CD8+ T cell infiltration and diminishes the anti-tumor effectiveness of radiation. Retrospectively, we identified a strong correlation between eosinophilia and survival benefit in radiation-treated cancer patients. Experimentally, we further show that radiation enhances the intratumoral infiltration of adoptive transferred T cells therapy, bolstering eosinophils by intravenous interleukin-5 administration promotes the efficacy of radiation-induced abscopal effect. Together, these results suggest that eosinophil mobilization can be considered as a mechanistically relevant biomarker for predicting the effectiveness of pre-immunotherapy radiation, as well as a new strategy to enhance T cell-mediated immunotherapy against cancers.

Information regarding availability of electronic healthcare databases in the Asia-Pacific region is critical for planning vaccine safety assessments particularly, as COVID-19 vaccines are introduced. This study aimed to identify data sources in the region, potentially suitable for vaccine safety surveillance. This manuscript is endorsed by the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE).
Nineteen countries targeted for database reporting were identified using published country lists and review articles. Surveillance capacity was assessed using two surveys a 9-item introductory survey and a 51-item full survey. Survey questions related to database characteristics, covariate and health outcome variables, vaccine exposure characteristics, access and governance, and dataset linkage capability. Other questions collated research/regulatory applications of the data and local publications detailing database use for research.
Eleven databases containing vaccine-specific information were identified acroedures, together with requirement for data linkage for outcome information, all contribute to the challenges in building a distributed network for vaccine safety assessment in the Asia-Pacific and globally. The aim of this study was to synthesize the evidence on the effect of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) pharmacotherapy on health-related quality of life (HRQoL).
We searched MEDLINE, Embase, CENTRAL, CINAHL, ClinicalTrials.gov and the World Health Organization International Clinical Trials Registry Platform in June 2020. Randomized placebo-controlled trials evaluating contemporary HFrEF pharmacotherapy and reporting HRQoL as an outcome were included. Two reviewers independently assessed studies for eligibility, extracted data, and assessed risk of bias and GRADE certainty of evidence. The primary outcome was HRQoL at last available follow-up analysed using a random-effects model. We included 37 studies from 5770 identified articles. Risk of bias was low in 10 trials and high/unclear in 27 trials. High certainty evidence from meta-analyses demonstrated improved HRQoL over placebo with sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors [standardized mean difference (SMD) 0.16, 95% confidssions with patients to enable shared decision-making.

Furthermore, gCLUTO software was used in the study for bi-clustering analysis and strategic diagram analysis.
According to the search strategy, 906 total papers were included. Among all the extracted MeSH terms, 41 high frequency ones were identified and hotspots were clustered into four categories. In the strategic diagram, research on intrauterine treatment of MPR was most well developed. In contrast, statistical data on the sequelae of fetal reduction surgery and applications of MPR in assisted reproductive technologies were relatively immature.

We aimed to determine bioactive compounds against resistant human melanoma cells from leaves of Aspidosperma subincanum, Copaifera langsdorffii, Coussarea hydrangeifolia, Guarea guidonea and Tapirira guianensis, using a metabolomics approach.
The extracts and fractions were obtained by accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) and tested against resistant melanoma cells SK-MEL-28 and SK-MEL-103. Chemical analysis was performed by high-performance diode array detector tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-DAD-MS/MS). Hoffa fracture is a type of rare tangential supracondylar distal femoral fracture. The most common mechanism of this fracture injury is high energy trauma. In some cases, its poor visibility on X-rays makes its diagnosis difficult and needs more than routine X-rays. Plasmacytoma is a rare clonal neoplastic disorder of bone marrow that originates from plasma cells. It usually presents as a multiple myeloma (MM). Less than 5% of patients present with either a single bone lesion as a solitary bone plasmacytoma (SBP) or, even more rarely, as a soft tissue mass of monoclonal plasma cells representing a solitary extra medullary plasmacytoma (SEP).
We report a case of a 59-year-old man presenting with a mass of the soft palate evolving for a year. Physical examination showed an extension to the nasal cavity. Biopsy with immunohistochemical study demonstrated sheets of mononucleated plasmacytoid cells diffusely expressing CD138. The plasma cells showed monoclonal light chain Kappa. Further investigations did not show any other locations including bone and bone marrow. Thus, diagnosis of solitary extramedullary plasmacytoma of the soft palate was established. The patient was treated with chemotherapy with total remission on his one year follow-up.

We aim to demonstrate two main advantages of wire/suture fixation in such cases when compared to plates and screws. Wire/suture fixation does not require periosteal dissection for fixation; and hence there is more preservation of the blood supply of the bony fragments. Furthermore, in the setting of concurrent facial nerve repair, the use of plates may risk re-injury of the repaired nerve during the late removal of the hardware. Interosseous wires/sutures do not require late removal and this is another advantage in these cases.

A 17-year-old female presented with a gradually enlarged bony mass with tenderness at the supraclavicular area. Radiographic images revealed a bony mass attached to the first rib. The provisional diagnosis is osteochondroma. The tumor was approached by osteotomy at the proximal and distal shaft of the clavicle. After removing the entire tumor, the direct reduction and internal fixation of the clavicle were performed.

The accepted indication for surgical removal of osteochondroma is when a lesion becomes symptomatic. There have been no established standard surgical approaches to remove osteochondroma on the first rib and no report on management after that. This report aims to present a novel approach by double clavicle osteotomy followed with internal fixation. A 17-year-old female presented with a gradually enlarged bony mass with tenderness at the supraclavicular area. Radiographic images revealed a bony mass attached to the first rib. The provisional diagnosis is osteochondroma. The tumor was approached by osteotomy at the proximal and distal shaft of the clavicle. After removing the entire tumor, the direct reduction and internal fixation of the clavicle were performed. Both, size of the mass and mobilization of the clavicle are factors in determining the surgical approach. Clavicular osteotomy, especially two sites, is considered when the lesion is extremely large.
