We contrasted these findings to reliability of discrete variables extracted at specific events (initial contact, peak value). We extended the calculations of ICC and SEM to handle unbalanced situations (varying number of repetitions) to include all available data. Hip and knee angle curves proved reliable with stable ICC curves throughout the landing, with integrated ICCs ≥ 0.71 for all planes except for knee internal/external rotation (ICC = 0.57). Hip and knee moment curves and ankle angle and moments were less reliable and less stable, particularly in the first ~ 10-25% of the landing (integrated ICCs 0.44-0.57). Curve data were generally not in agreement with the results for discrete event data, thus advocating analysis of curve data which contains more information.     South Asian women are at a high risk of developing gestational diabetes mellitus than other women in Australia. Gestational diabetes affects up to 14-19% of all pregnancies among South Asian, South East Asian, and Arabic populations placing women at risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes. Although, gestational diabetes resolves after childbirth, women with gestational diabetes are up to seven times more likely to develop type 2 diabetes within five to ten years of the index pregnancy. Increasingly, South Asian women are being diagnosed with gestational diabetes in Australia. Therefore, we aimed to gain a better understanding of the lived experiences of South Asian women and their experiences of self-management and their health care providers' perspectives of treatment strategies.

    Using an ethnographic qualitative research methodology, semi-structured one-on-one, face-to-face interviews were conducted with 21 health care providers involved in gestational diabetes management and treatment from the three largestt plans of staple South Asian foods and lifestyle modification messages.
    The gestational diabetes clinical practice at the study hospitals were unable to meet consumer expectations. Health care providers need to be familiar of diverse patient cultures, rather than applying the current 'one size fits all' approach that failed to engage and meet the needs of immigrant and ethnic women. Future enabling strategies should aim to co-design and develop low Glycaemic Index diet plans of staple South Asian foods and lifestyle modification messages.
    There is increasing pressure to get women and babies home rapidly after birth. Babies born to mothers with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) currently get 24-h inpatient monitoring. We investigated whether a low-risk group of babies born to mothers with GDM could be defined for shorter inpatient hypoglycaemia monitoring.

    Observational, retrospective cohort study conducted in a tertiary maternity hospital in 2018. All babies with hypoglycaemia had an initial capillary BG ≤ 2.6mmol/L (Area under the ROC curve (AUC) 0.96, 95% Confidence Interval (CI) 0.91-1.0). This result was validated on a further 65 babies, of whom 10 developed hypoglycaemia, in the first 24-h of life.

However, in low income countries like Zambia they often drop out of school due to poverty, early pregnancy and early marriages. Some studies indicate that economic support such as Social Cash Transfers (SCTs) can mitigate the effects of poverty on female adolescents by improving their school participation and helping postpone pregnancy and marriage. This study aimed to explore the role of economic support in influencing education and sexual decision making among female adolescents in arandomised controlled trial in Zambia.

    The study adopted a qualitative approach. It utilized purposive and convenient sampling. Data were collected from 6 schools using 18 in-depth interviews (IDIs) and 4 focus group discussions (FGDs) comprising 48 school-going female adolescents in grade 8 aged 14 to 17. All participants received economic support in form of SCTs and payment of school fees as part of the Research Initiative to Support the Empowerment of Girls (RISE), a Cluster Randomised Controlled Trial. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis.

    Findings suggested several benefits of the economic support for the female adolescents such as economic independence and empowerment; increased assertiveness and autonomy; reduced desire for sexual relationships with boys in exchange for cash and gifts; increased motivation for school; enhanced parental and community support for female adolescents' education and; reduced school dropouts. However, they also experienced jealousy from those who did not benefit from the economic support.

    Economic support played a significant role in influencing both educational and sexual decision making among female adolescents.

    Suicide in old age is a significant contributor to mortality. However, the extent to which life weariness and suicidal thoughts impact on mortality in a long-term perspective is unknown. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of life weariness and suicidal thoughts on long-term survival (16 years) in an older Swedish population, controlling for demographic and social network factors and depression. A further aim was to investigate differences in sex and age interactions in relation to mortality among individuals with and without life weariness and suicidal thoughts.

    A longitudinal cohort study on a national, representative sample of individuals aged 60+ years was conducted within the Swedish National Study of Aging and Care study. The sample included 7213 individuals, who provided information about life weariness and suicidal thoughts through an item derived from the Montgomery-Åsberg Depression Rating Scale.   • Methane hydrate (MH) makes it possible to store methane using the cheapest and safest solvent water. However, the sluggish formation kinetics hinders its practical utilization. Recently, the use of nanomaterials has been suggested as a potential solution; however, there is still a lack of high-efficiency kinetic promotors, and the promoting mechanism remains unclear. Herein, we demonstrated that MXene dispersion is promising for the storage of methane via MH with rapid formation kinetics, high storage capacity, and impressive cyclic stability. MXene can significantly shorten the induction time for MH formation. The enhanced kinetics was achieved by providing extra nucleation sites and enhancing thermal conductivity, although the increased surface tension of MXene dispersion could impede the MH formation via limited mass transfer. We confirmed that the concentration-dependent promoting effect of MXene dispersions results from regulating the assembly of water molecules. The insight of this work can apply to develop high-efficiency additives to control the formation kinetics of MH.Advanced sensing tools, detecting extremely low concentrations of circulating biomarkers, can open unexplored routes toward early diagnostics and diseases progression monitoring. Here, we demonstrate the sensing capabilities of a chip-based metamaterial, combining 3D chiral geometry with a functional core-shell nanoarchitecture. The chiral metamaterial provides a circular polarization-dependent optical response, allowing analysis in a complex environment without significant background interferences. The functional nanoarchitecture, based on the conformal coating with a polymer shell, modifies the chiral metamaterial near- and far-field optical response because of the energy transfer between dielectric shell polarization charges and plasmonic core free electrons, leading to efficient interaction with biomolecules. The system sensitivity slope is 27 nm/pM, in the detection of TAR DNA-binding protein 43, clinically relevant for neurodegenerative diseases. Measurements were performed in spiked solution and in human serum with concentrations from 1 pM down to 10 fM, which is a range not accessible with common immunological assays, opening new perspectives for next-generation biomedical systems.This study reports a novel cross-linking approach to fabricate the hydrothermally neutralized silica hydrogel of SiO2-H3BO3-hexadecyltrimethoxysilane by grafting alkylsilane groups onto the nanoporous silica. The synthesized silica hydrogel possessed a large specific surface area of 51.3 m2g-1 and showed excellent dye adsorption capability of cationic dyes in neutral (pH 7) and alkaline (pH 9) medium from wastewater. The colloidal electrokinetic potential analysis revealed that the outstanding adsorption efficiency of cationic dyes over anionic dyes strongly relies on the surface charge of the hydrogels. Moreover, the hydrophobic interactions between the dye molecules and the hydrogels were studied, and it was found that the dye adsorption performance can be tuned by altering the concentration of hydrophobic reagents of the hydrogel. The dye adsorption mechanism was established, and the kinetic study suggested that the adsorption is a pseudo-second-order reaction. Adsorption isotherms at various equilibrium conditions fitted well with the Langmuir isotherm. Therefore, this strongly supports the promising and practical application of the prepared silica hydrogel.     Methane hydrate (MH) makes it possible to store methane using the cheapest and safest solvent water. However, the sluggish formation kinetics hinders its practical utilization. Recently, the use of nanomaterials has been suggested as a potential solution; however, there is still a lack of high-efficiency kinetic promotors, and the promoting mechanism remains unclear. Herein, we demonstrated that MXene dispersion is promising for the storage of methane via MH with rapid formation kinetics, high storage capacity, and impressive cyclic stability. MXene can significantly shorten the induction time for MH formation. The enhanced kinetics was achieved by providing extra nucleation sites and enhancing thermal conductivity, although the increased surface tension of MXene dispersion could impede the MH formation via limited mass transfer. We confirmed that the concentration-dependent promoting effect of MXene dispersions results from regulating the assembly of water molecules. The insight of this work can apply to develop high-efficiency additives to control the formation kinetics of MH.Advanced sensing tools, detecting extremely low concentrations of circulating biomarkers, can open unexplored routes toward early diagnostics and diseases progression monitoring. The synthesized silica hydrogel possessed a large specific surface area of 51.3 m2g-1 and showed excellent dye adsorption capability of cationic dyes in neutral (pH 7) and alkaline (pH 9) medium from wastewater. The colloidal electrokinetic potential analysis revealed that the outstanding adsorption efficiency of cationic dyes over anionic dyes strongly relies on the surface charge of the hydrogels. Moreover, the hydrophobic interactions between the dye molecules and the hydrogels were studied, and it was found that the dye adsorption performance can be tuned by altering the concentration of hydrophobic reagents of the hydrogel. The dye adsorption mechanism was established, and the kinetic study suggested that the adsorption is a pseudo-second-order reaction. Adsorption isotherms at various equilibrium conditions fitted well with the Langmuir isotherm. Therefore, this strongly supports the promising and practical application of the prepared silica hydrogel. The mPEG-b-PCL-DOX NPs were administrated to KM rats by intraperitoneal injection to study the bio-safety of final NPs. Partial least squares correlation analysis (PLSCA) was employed to compute the latent variables of perceived wellness status (X matrix) and technical-tactical performance (Y matrix) for each player observation (n = 271). The latent variables are a construct of each variable group, enabling higher dimensional data to be visualised more simply. Linear mixed-effect models were later conducted to assess the relationships between the latent variables. The effect of perceived wellness status on technical-tactical performance was statistically significant in forwards (p = .042), not statistically significant in backs (p = .120) and accounted for 4.9% and 1.9% variance in the technical-tactical performance construct, respectively. The findings of this study suggest that perceived wellness status can influence technical-tactical match performance, but the practical significance of these findings should be interpreted with caution given the amount of variance in technical-tactical performance accounted by the models.

  • Carbapenem -resistant A. baumannii (CRAB) is a major cause of both community-associated and nosocomial infections that are difficult to control and treat worldwide. Among different mediators of pathogenesis, toxin-antitoxin (TA) systems are emerging as the most prominent. The functional diversity and ubiquitous distribution in bacterial genomes are causing significant attention toward TA systems in bacteria. However, there is no enough information on the prevalence and identity of TA systems in CRAB clinical isolates. This study aimed to identify type II toxin-antitoxin systems in carbapenem-resistant A. baumannii (CRAB) isolates. A total of 80 A. baumannii isolates were collected from different clinical samples. Antibiotic resistance patterns of A. baumannii isolates were evaluated phenotypically and genetically. The frequency of type II TA genes was evaluated in CRAB isolates using PCR. Moreover, the expression level of the most prevalent TA encoding genes in some clinical isolates were evaluated by RT-qPCR. To determine whether the SplT and SplA are functional, the growth of E. coli BL21 cells (DE3/pLysS) harboring pET28a, pET28a-splTA, and pET28a-splT were analyzed by kill-rescue assay. All of the isolates were resistant to third generation of cephalosporins, ciprofloxacin and levofloxacin, whereas, 72%, 81% and 87% were resistant to amikacin, carbapenems and tetracycline, respectively. The cheTA in 47 isolates (72.5%) and splTA in 39 isolates (60%) of 65 isolates were the most common genes encoding type II TA among CRAB isolates. RT-qPCR demonstrated that cheTA and splTA transcripts are produced in the clinical isolates. There was a significant correlation between the presence of splTA genes and blaOXA-24 in CRAB isolates. Over-expression of the splT gene in E. coli results in inhibition of bacterial growth, whereas co-expression of splTA effectively restores the growth. This study presents the first identification of the type II TA systems among the carbapenem -resistant A. baumannii isolates, in Iran.

    Patients with current disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD; N= 44) were randomly assigned to complete 4 sessions of active(n= 22) or sham (n= 22) computerized IBT training within a 1-week period. The first and last trainings were completed onsite, and 2 trainings were completed at home. We examined the effects of active IBT on labeling bias, primary outcome measures of irritability, and secondary outcome measures of anxiety, depression, and functional impairment. Follow-up assessments were completed immediately after the intervention as well as 1 and 2 weeks later.

    We found that active IBT engaged the behavioral target in the active relative to the sham condition, as shown by a significant shift toward labeling ambiguous faces as happy. However, there was no consistent clinical improvement in active IBT relative to the sham condition either immediately after or 2 weeks after training in either the primary or secondary outcome measures.

    Although this randomized controlled trial of IBT in youths with DMDD engaged the proposed behavioral target, there was no statistically significant improvement on clinical outcome. Identifying and changing behavioral targets is a first step in novel treatment development; these results have broader implications for target-based intervention development.

Specifically, improved neuronal sparing along with reduced astrogliosis and glial scarring often observed earlier in life, likely contributes to improved long-term outcomes. Understanding the underlying mechanisms could enable the recapitulation of neuroprotective effects, observed in infants, to benefit adults after brain injuries. We reveal that in primates, Eph/ ephrin signaling contributes to age-dependent reactive astrocyte behavior. Ephrin-A5 expression on astrocytes was more protracted in adults, whereas ephrin-A1 was only expressed on infant astrocytes. Furthermore, ephrin-A5 exacerbated major hallmarks of astrocyte reactivity via EphA2 and EphA4 receptors, which was subsequently alleviated by ephrin-A1. Rather than suppressing reactivity, ephrin-A1 signaling shifted astrocytes towards GAP43+ neuroprotection, accounting for improved neuronal sparing in infants. Reintroducing ephrin-A1 after middle-aged focal ischemic injury significantly attenuated glial scarring, improved neuronal sparing and preserved circuitry. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can indirectly capture several multifaceted changes of cortical macro- and microstructure, of high relevance to further our understanding of the neural foundation of cognition and mental health. Great progress has been made recently in mapping the typical development of cortical morphology. Moreover, newer less explored MRI signal intensity and specialized quantitative T2 measures have been applied to assess microstructural cortical development. We review recent findings of typical postnatal macro- and microstructural development of the cerebral cortex from early childhood to young adulthood. We cover studies of cortical volume, thickness, area, gyrification, T1-weighted (T1w) tissue contrasts such a grey/white matter contrast, T1w/T2w ratio, magnetization transfer and myelin water fraction.
    Carbapenem -resistant A. baumannii (CRAB) is a major cause of both community-associated and nosocomial infections that are difficult to control and treat worldwide. Among different mediators of pathogenesis, toxin-antitoxin (TA) systems are emerging as the most prominent. The functional diversity and ubiquitous distribution in bacterial genomes are causing significant attention toward TA systems in bacteria. However, there is no enough information on the prevalence and identity of TA systems in CRAB clinical isolates. This study aimed to identify type II toxin-antitoxin systems in carbapenem-resistant A. baumannii (CRAB) isolates. A total of 80 A. baumannii isolates were collected from different clinical samples. Antibiotic resistance patterns of A. baumannii isolates were evaluated phenotypically and genetically. The frequency of type II TA genes was evaluated in CRAB isolates using PCR. Moreover, the expression level of the most prevalent TA encoding genes in some clinical isolates were evaluated by RT-qPCR. To determine whether the SplT and SplA are functional, the growth of E. coli BL21 cells (DE3/pLysS) harboring pET28a, pET28a-splTA, and pET28a-splT were analyzed by kill-rescue assay. All of the isolates were resistant to third generation of cephalosporins, ciprofloxacin and levofloxacin, whereas, 72%, 81% and 87% were resistant to amikacin, carbapenems and tetracycline, respectively. The cheTA in 47 isolates (72.5%) and splTA in 39 isolates (60%) of 65 isolates were the most common genes encoding type II TA among CRAB isolates. RT-qPCR demonstrated that cheTA and splTA transcripts are produced in the clinical isolates. There was a significant correlation between the presence of splTA genes and blaOXA-24 in CRAB isolates. Over-expression of the splT gene in E. coli results in inhibition of bacterial growth, whereas co-expression of splTA effectively restores the growth. This study presents the first identification of the type II TA systems among the carbapenem -resistant A. baumannii isolates, in Iran. Patients with current disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD; N= 44) were randomly assigned to complete 4 sessions of active(n= 22) or sham (n= 22) computerized IBT training within a 1-week period. The first and last trainings were completed onsite, and 2 trainings were completed at home. We examined the effects of active IBT on labeling bias, primary outcome measures of irritability, and secondary outcome measures of anxiety, depression, and functional impairment. Follow-up assessments were completed immediately after the intervention as well as 1 and 2 weeks later. We found that active IBT engaged the behavioral target in the active relative to the sham condition, as shown by a significant shift toward labeling ambiguous faces as happy.     To evaluate the impact of the Universal Neonatal Hearing Screening (UNHS) on the age at diagnosis, beginning of treatment, and first cochlear implant surgery.

    A retrospective cohort study with children up to 12 years old with bilateral hearing loss were divided into two groups patients who underwent UNHS and the ones who didn't. The groups were compared according to their age at the beginning of the evaluation at a specialized center, at the beginning of the intervention, and, for the ones who had indication, at the cochlear implant surgery. The group who underwent UNHS was divided between the ones who passed the screening test and the ones who didn't. They were compared according to their ages at the same moments as the first two groups.

    135 patients were included. The median age at the first appointment in a specialized center was 1.42 (0.50 and 2.50) years, at the beginning of treatment 2.00 (1.00 and 3.52) years, and the cochlear implant surgery 2.83 (1.83 and 4.66) years. Children who underwent UNHS were younger than those who didn't, at the three evaluated moments (p < 0.001). In a subanalysis, children who passed the UNHS but were later diagnosed with hearing loss reached the first appointment with a specialist and started treatment older than those who failed the tests.

This resistance hierarchy corresponded with Y144del and 242-244del mutations in the N-terminal domain and K417N/T, E484K, and N501Y mutations in the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of SARS-CoV-2. Crystal structure analysis of the B.1.351 triple mutant (417N-484K-501Y) RBD complexed with the monoclonal antibody P2C-1F11 revealed the molecular basis for antibody neutralization and escape. B.1.351 and P.1 also acquired the ability to use mouse and mink ACE2 receptors for entry. Our results demonstrate major antigenic shifts and potential broadening of the host range for B.1.351 and P.1 variants, which poses serious challenges to current antibody therapies and vaccine protection.Lymphoid stromal cells (LSCs) are essential organizers of immune responses. Transcriptional analyses revealed LSC reprogramming in situ downstream of the cytokines tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and transforming growth factor β (TGF-β), including increased expression of the chemokines CCL19 and CCL21. Our findings define human LSC populations in healthy tissue and reveal bidirectional crosstalk between LSCs and malignant B cells that may present a targetable axis in lymphoma.

Existing studies have included a narrow range of infectious diseases, relied on short follow-up periods, and provided little evidence for whether the increased risk is limited to specific dementia subtypes or attributable to specific microbes rather than infection burden. We aimed to compare the risk of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias across a wide range of hospital-treated bacterial and viral infections in two large cohorts with long follow-up periods.

  • Schistosoma japonicum (S. japonicum) infection can induce serious organ damage and cause schistosomiasis japonica which is mainly prevalent in Asia and currently one of the most seriously neglected tropical diseases. Treatment of schistosomiasis largely depends on the drug praziquantel (PZQ). However, PZQ exhibits low killing efficacy on juvenile worms and the potential emergence of its drug resistance is a continual concern. Protein kinases (PKs) are enzymes that catalyze the phosphorylation of proteins and can participate in many signaling pathways in vivo. Recent studies confirmed the essential roles of PKs in the growth and development of S. japonicum, as well as in schistosome-host interactions, and researches have screened drug targets about PKs from S. japonicum (SjPKs), which provide new opportunities of developing new treatments on schistosomiasis. The aim of this review is to present the current progress on SjPKs from classification, different functions and their potential to become drug targets compared with other schistosomes. The efficiency of related protein kinase inhibitors on schistosomes is highlighted. Finally, the current challenges and problems in the study of SjPKs are proposed, which can provide future guidance for developing anti-schistosomiasis drugs and vaccines.Polymicrobial interactions with oral mucosal surfaces determine the health status of the host. Thus, we were interested to investigate this ecological transition by focusing on biofilm communities containing high abundance commensal species and low abundance pathobionts to characterize the host-microbiome interactions occurring during oral health. To this end, a multispecies biofilm model was examined using the commensal species Corynebacterium durum and Streptococcus sanguinis and the pathobiont Porphyromonas gingivalis. We compared how both single and multispecies biofilms interact with different oral mucosal and gingival cell types, including the well-studied oral keratinocyte cell lines OKF4/TERT-1and hTERT TIGKs as well as human primary perioy oral microbiome-host interactions.

Clinical samples were analyzed between January 1, 2011, and December 31, 2019, in the Institute of Burn Research in Southwest China. Age-associated changes in gut microbiota composition and in their metabolites contribute to increased gut permeability and imbalances in immune function. In this review, we aim to identify gut microbiota changes in the aging and frail populations; summarize the role of chronic low-grade inflammation in the development of frailty; and outline how gut microbiota may be related to the pathogenesis of frailty, more specifically, in the regulation of gut-derived chronic inflammation.

We compared how both single and multispecies biofilms interact with different oral mucosal and gingival cell types, including the well-studied oral keratinocyte cell lines OKF4/TERT-1and hTERT TIGKs as well as human primary perioy oral microbiome-host interactions. spp. are important opportunist pathogens causing subcutaneous or even fatal disseminated infections in otherwise both immunosuppressed and healthy individuals but there are no systematic studies on the isolates of species from India. Twenty-four isolates of species were retrieved from the National Culture Collection of Pathogenic Fungi (NCCPF) and identified phenotypically and by molecular methods (ITS region sequencing) followed by antifungal susceptibility testing (AFST) as per CLSI-M38A3 guidelines. A review of the literature of cases from India was performed up to 1 January 2021 using the Medline and Cochrane database. Emerging evidence indicates that in older adults with frailty, the diversity and composition structure of gut microbiota are altered. Age-associated changes in gut microbiota composition and in their metabolites contribute to increased gut permeability and imbalances in immune function. In this review, we aim to identify gut microbiota changes in the aging and frail populations; summarize the role of chronic low-grade inflammation in the development of frailty; and outline how gut microbiota may be related to the pathogenesis of frailty, more specifically, in the regulation of gut-derived chronic inflammation.

    In the past few decades, there has been an increase in high-quality studies providing evidence on the effectiveness of commonly performed procedures in paediatric otolaryngology. We believe that now is the time to re-evaluate the care process. We aimed to analyse (1) the regional variation in incidence and referrals of adenoidectomies, tonsillectomies and ventilation tube insertions in children in the Netherlands between 2016 and 2019, (2) whether regional surgical rates, referral rates and in-hospital surgical rates were associated with one another, and (3) the hospital variation in healthcare costs, which indicates the utilisation of resources.

    An exploratory sequential mixed-method study design wherein, quantitative follows qualitative will be used to develop, implement and evaluate the effect of diabetes self-care intervention package among people living with type 2 diabetes. The qualitative research method will be used to identify barriers and facilitators for self-care practices among people living with type 2 DM and will also provide the basis for the development of the diabetes self-care intervention package. The quasi-experimental with control study design will be used to evaluate the developed intervention package among 220 randomly selected people living with type 2 diabetes in both intervention and control arms. Baseline, follow-ups and endline data will be collected using same prevalidated and structured questionnaire for each self-care activity. Difference-in-difference analysis will be used to measure for changes in the proportion of people living with type 2 DM doing different component of self-care practices, preintervention and postintervention in both arms.

    Permission for conducting the study has been taken from Institutional Ethical Committee of PGIMER, Chandigarh (Ref no. NK/4538/PhD/226, Dated 18.08.18). The findings of the trial will be disseminated through publication in peer-reviewed journals.

    This study analyses the cost-effectiveness of annual low-dose CT (LDCT) screening of high-risk cancer populations in Chinese urban areas.

    We used a Markov model to evaluate LDCT screening from a sociological perspective.

    The data from two large lung cancer screening programmes in China were used.

    The sample consisted of 100 000 smokers who underwent annual LDCT screening until age 76.

    The study comprises five screening strategies, with the initial screening ages in both the screening strategies and their corresponding non-screening strategies being 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 years, respectively.

    The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) between screening and non-screening strategies at the same initial age was evaluated.

    In the baseline scenario, compared with those who were not screened, the specific mortality from lung cancer decreased by 18.52%-23.13% among those who underwent screening. The ICER of LDCT screening ranges from US$13 056.82 to US$15 736.06 per quality-adjusted life year, whichtion of worst values of sensitivity, specificity and overdiagnosis. Therefore, the cost-effectiveness of a screening strategy depends on the performance of LDCT screenings.
    Most individuals treated for heroin use disorder receive opioid agonist treatment (OAT)(methadone or buprenorphine). However, OAT is associated with high attrition and persistent, occasional heroin use. There is some evidence for the effectiveness of contingency management (CM), a behavioural intervention involving modest financial incentives, in encouraging drug abstinence when applied adjunctively with OAT. UK drug services have a minimal track record of applying CM and limited resources to implement it. We assessed a CM intervention pragmatically adapted for ease of implementation in UK drug services to promote heroin abstinence among individuals receiving OAT.

    552 adults with heroin use disorder (target 660) enrolled from 34 clusters (drug treatment clinics) in England between November 2012 and October 2015.

The wide and partially overlapping phenotypes and the genetic heterogeneity make the differential diagnosis frequently difficult and delayed; however, since some of these disorders may be treatable, a prompt diagnosis is mandatory. In this regard, this study explores the significant role of trust transfer (from offline to online) and the moderating effect of consumers' neurotic traits in the framework of trust-satisfaction-repurchase intention in the e-commerce context based on a survey with 406 Korean e-commerce consumers. Moreover, a prediction-oriented segmentation (POS) technique combined with structural equation models (SEM) was utilized to reveal consumers' probable hidden heterogeneous characteristics. The outcomes of the global model SEM analysis indicate that offline-online trust transference occurs in e-commerce, and the conveyed trust significantly influences satisfaction and consumers' repeat purchase intention through satisfaction. Neuroticism also has significant positive effects on trust transfer in the global model. However, results in three subgroups generated by POS show heterogeneous characteristics that considerably differed from the global model test results. The implications from this study will be beneficial to field practitioners in the e-commerce industry in addressing the importance of trust transfer, negative neurotic traits as well as heterogeneous aspects of consumers.Some of the components of perfectionism produce a variety of problems, such as interpersonal hypersensitivity and hostility, that may be associated with aggression behavior during adolescence. A total of 1,074 high school students from various educational centers participated in this study (M = 14.78, SD = 1.84). The Child-Adolescent Perfectionism Scale and the Aggression Questionnaire short form were used. The Latent Class Analysis identified three classes of adolescent perfectionism (a) Non-Perfectionists (low PS and PC), (b) Maladaptive Perfectionists (high PS and PC), and (c) Adaptive Perfectionists (moderate PS and PC). Results revealed significant differences between classes regarding the different manifestations of aggression. Maladaptive Perfectionists and Adaptive Perfectionists reported, respectively, the highest and lowest levels of aggression behavior.     As a result of technological developments in healthcare services, telemedicine is becoming widespread. We aimed to determine the effect of COVID-19 on Turkish medical oncologists' opinions of telemedicine through a survey.

    This study was conducted using an online questionnaire linked to an invitation e-mail sent to the members of the Turkish Medical Oncology Association mailing group between May and July 2020.

    Of the 110 (73 males and 37 females) medical oncologists who answered the questionnaire, the average age was 43.9 ± 7.29 (range 31-64) years, and the majority of the respondents were academics.     Diagnosis of Parkinson's disease (PD) is informed by the presence of progressive motor and non-motor symptoms and by imaging dopamine transporter with [
    I]ioflupane (DaTscan). Deep learning and ensemble methods have recently shown promise in medical image analysis. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a three-stage, deep learning, ensemble approach for prognosis in patients with PD.

    Retrospective data of 198 patients with PD were retrieved from the Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative database and randomly partitioned into the training, validation, and test sets with 118, 40, and 40 patients, respectively. The first and second stages of the approach extracted features from DaTscan and clinical measures of motor symptoms, respectively. The third stage trained an ensemble of deep neural networks on different subsets of the extracted features to predict patient outcome 4years after initial baseline screening. The approach was evaluated by assessing mean absolute percentage error (MAPE), mean absolute error (MAE), Pearson's correlation coefficient, and bias between the predicted and observed motor outcome scores. The approach was compared to individual networks given different data subsets as inputs.

    The ensemble approach yielded a MAPE of 18.36%, MAE of 4.70, a Pearson's correlation coefficient of 0.84, and had no significant bias indicating accurate outcome prediction. The approach outperformed individual networks not given DaTscan imaging or clinical measures of motor symptoms as inputs, respectively.

Furthermore, effective removal in heavy metal concentrations was observed, i.e., 98.17, 67.45, 91.03, and 88.02% for nickel, cadmium, zinc, and lead, respectively. The results showed that a change in variables' amount affects associated costs while making a variation at removal efficiency. Reducing the initial pH value of leachate to 3.50 might decrease the consumed raw materials and OSVLDR value, resulting in a considerable decline in material costs (by 10%). Also, the inactive walnut-shell surface with a more crushing degree was used to reduce costs in walnut-shell set experiments rather than the activated surface.
