    The biological functions and molecular mechanisms of miR-935 have been widely investigated in various types of cancer. The aim of the present study was to explore the function of miR-935 in glioma.

    Diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is an aggressive B-cell malignancy with clinical and molecular heterogeneity whose genetics may have clinical implications for patient stratification and treatment. The circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) is a novel noninvasive, real-time, and tumor-specific biomarker harboring tumor-derived genetic alterations that are identical to those of tumor cells, thus showing great promise in individualized medicine, including precise diagnosis, prediction of prognosis, response monitoring, and relapse detection for DLBCL.

    In this study, we applied NGS analysis to tumor biopsies and ctDNA samples from 16 DLBCL subjects. Then, we compared the genomic alterations from 41 newly diagnosed patients and 56 relapsed/refractory (R/R) patients.

    Our results show that ctDNA can function as a liquid biopsy for tracking recurrently mutated genes in DLBCL (sensitivity 87.50%). The mutational profiles of newly diagnosed and R/R DLBCL groups largely overlapped, but the frequencies of some gene mutations differ between the two cohorts. The distribution of mutations also revealed different frequencies in the two cohorts due to different signaling pathways. Genes from apoptosis pathway, immune response and BCR pathway suffered more mutations in R/R patients.

    Overall, this study establishes ctDNA as an easily accessible source of tumor DNA for DLBCL genotyping and provides a deeper understanding of the somatic alteration spectrum for both newly diagnosed and R/R DLBCL patients.

    Gastric cancer (GC) accounts for high mortality. RNA methylation has recently gained interest as markers in specific tumors. This study aimed to uncover the function of the roles of 25 RNA methylation regulators in GC.

    RNA sequence and clinical data were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. "STRING" and R were performed to analyze the correlation among the methylase. COX and LASSO were performed to screen for prognostic associated RNA methylation regulators. A prognostic model was established based on the expression of methylase. RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry detected the expression of methylase in GC cells and tissue. Kaplan-Meier curve and Cox analysis were applied to evaluate the effectiveness of the model.

    The prediction model was established based on the expression of m6A RNA methylation regulators FTO (fat mass and obesity-associated) and RBM15 (RNA binding motif protein 15). Based on the model, GC patients were divided into "high risk" and "low risk" groups to compare the differences in survival. The model was re-evaluated with the clinical data of our center.

  • The formation of gaseous chlorine within chlor-alkali electrolysis is accompanied by a selectivity problem, as the evolution of gaseous oxygen constitutes a detrimental side reaction in the same potential range. As such, the development of electrode materials with high selectivity toward the chlorine evolution reaction is of particular importance to the chemical industry. Insight into the elementary reaction steps is ultimately required to comprehend chlorine selectivity on a molecular level. Commonly, linear scaling relationships are analyzed by the construction of a volcano plot, using the binding energy of oxygen, ΔEO, as a descriptor in the analysis. The present article reinvestigates the selectivity problem of the competing chlorine and oxygen evolution reactions by applying a different strategy compared to previous literature studies. On the one hand, a unifying material-screening framework that, besides binding energies, also includes the applied overpotential, kinetics, and the electrochemical-step symmetry index is used to comprehend trends in this selectivity issue for transition-metal oxide-based electrodes. On the other hand, the free-energy difference between the adsorbed oxygen and adsorbed hydroxide, ΔG2, rather than ΔEO is used as a descriptor in the analysis. It is demonstrated that the formation of the OCl adsorbate within the chlorine evolution reaction inherently limits chlorine selectivity, whereas, in the optimum case, the formation of the Cl intermediate can result in significantly higher chlorine selectivity. This finding is used to derive the design criteria for highly selective chlorine evolution electrocatalysts, which can be used in the future to search for potential electrode compositions by material-screening techniques.ZrB2 is first explored as an earth-abundant metal diboride catalyst for highly efficient nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR). The bento box consists of a cheap DC motor and an Arduino microcontroller. It has a simple structure and is the size of a bento box, that is, 150 × 150 × 100 (W × D × H) mm3. The developed device can automatically execute an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) process under a steady rotating condition because it was designed based on the principle of CLOCK, which we previously presented. Here, we first executed an ELISA using a system consisting of the bento box and a device made of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and compared it with a servo-controlled device driver. It was confirmed that the results of the bento box were consistent with those of the servo-controlled device driver. The limit of detection (LOD) using the bento box was 0.759 ng ml-1. Therefore, the controllability of the bento box was demonstrated.

The planting area of white chrysanthemum in Macheng city, Hubei Province is about 3333 ha and the annual output can reach more than 5000 tons. In 2019, leaf spot disease appeared on almost all middle and lower leaves of white chrysanthemum in most fields of Fengshumiao county, Macheng city (N31°29'57″, E115°05'49″). This county has 33 acres white chrysanthemum planting area, and most of the plants in the county were infected with the leaf spot disease. The average incidence of leaf spot disease was 65%, and incidence in some areas was 100%. In our observations, leaf spot disease can occur throughout the whole growth period of white chrysanthemum, and it will become more serious under the high temperature and humidity condition. Usually, the diseased leaves account for 30 to 80% of the total leaves on the plant. Leaf spot initially manifests as necrotic lesions on the edge and tip of the the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of E. sorghinum causing leaf spot on white chrysanthemum in China. E. sorghinum has a wide host range worldwide and often causes crop yield reduction. This report will facilitate the diagnosis of white chrysanthemum leaf spot of white chrysanthemum allowing control measures to be adopted to manage this disease in a timely manner. The planting area of white chrysanthemum in Macheng city, Hubei Province is about 3333 ha and the annual output can reach more than 5000 tons. In 2019, leaf spot disease appeared on almost all middle and lower leaves of white chrysanthemum in most fields of Fengshumiao county, Macheng city (N31°29'57″, E115°05'49″). This county has 33 acres white chrysanthemum planting area, and most of the plants in the county were infected with the leaf spot disease. The average incidence of leaf spot disease was 65%, and incidence in some areas was 100%. In our observations, leaf spot disease can occur throughout the whole growth period of white chrysanthemum, and it will become more serious under the high temperature and humidity condition. Usually, the diseased leaves account for 30 to 80% of the total leaves on the plant. Leaf spot initially manifests as necrotic lesions on the edge and tip of the the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of E. sorghinum causing leaf spot on white chrysanthemum in China. E. sorghinum has a wide host range worldwide and often causes crop yield reduction. Novel diagnostic infrastructure based on mass spectrometry has been developed at Semmelweis University, allowing the renewal of psychiatric treatments supported by TDM. In a cooperation of the Department of Laboratory Medicine, and the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy 13 drugs were assayed in a routine setting. Several drugs were determined with their pharmacologically active metabolites.

Despite the fact that these agreements are becoming more and more common in medical care, there is still no general agreement among health care providers on the indication, form or other aspects of these con - tracts. However, contracting in these situations requires delicate discretion. At the outpatient psychotherapy service of the Clinical Psychology Department, Semmelweis University we have been using this tool in the last 20 years in the management of patients in suicidal crisis. In this article the establishment of contracts in clinical use and its indica - tions are described as well as some special issues like suicidality in adolescence. We also discuss the presumed positive effects of contracting, and demonstrate the use of no-suicide contracts in clinical practice by presenting selected cases.Among patients with substance use disorders (SUD), adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most frequently co-occuring disorder. Those SUD patients with comorbid ADHD show earlier onset of substance use, more severe SUD and poor treatment outcomes. Therefore, early recognition of ADHD is highly rele - vant within this patient population. The results of available screening instruments may lay the foundation of timely ADHD diagnosis. Considering the integrated treatment of patients with a dual ADHD+SUD diagnosis, the applica tion of combined pharmaco- and psychotherapy is recommended. Based on the evidence-and consensus-based suggestions, prescription of long-acting methylphenidate, extended-release amphetamines and atomoxetine with up-titration might be the best choice in the treatment of patients who are either unresponsive to standard dose or characterized by therapy resistance. Over more than two centuries, as ideas of innate difference hardened, few questioned the conceptual underpinnings of race correction in medicine. At a moment when "race norming" is under investigation throughout medicine, it is essential to rethink race correction of spirometric measurements, whether enacted through the use of a correction factor or through the use of population-specific standards.

    There is limited information regarding the true frequency of nonmedical opioid use (NMOU) among patients receiving opioid therapy for cancer pain. Data to guide patient selection for urine drug testing (UDT) as well as the timing and frequency of ordering UDT are insufficient. This study examined the frequency of abnormal UDT among patients with cancer who underwent random UDT and their characteristics.

    Demographic and clinical information for patients with cancer who underwent random UDT were retrospectively reviewed and compared with a historical cohort that underwent targeted UDT. Random UDT was ordered regardless of a patient's risk potential for NMOU. Targeted UDT was ordered on the basis of a physician's estimation of a patient's risk for NMOU.

    Using Whittemore and Knafl's framework for integrative reviews, a review of the literature was conducted using Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, PubMed, PsychInfo, and Cochrane Review to identify peer-reviewed literature published between 2010 and 2020. The following search terms were used "Just Culture" AND "healthcare system" OR "health care" OR "healthcare."

    After screening for inclusion and exclusion criteria, a set of 10 articles were included in the review. Four main themes were identified Error Management, Balance, Leadership and Staff, and Systems Leadership for Change.

  • Background Sustainable Development Goal 3.7 aims to ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health services. One suggested benchmark is to have at least 75% of the demand for contraception satisfied with modern methods (DS) in all countries by 2030. The translation of DS-based targets into targets for the modern contraceptive prevalence rate (mCPR) is needed to make targets actionable. Methods We propose the Accelerated Transition (AT) method for determining the mCPR needed to reach demand-satisfied targets by 2030. The starting point for this method is the projection of DS under "business as usual" using the one-country implementation of the Family Planning Estimation Model (FPEMcountry). We aimed to identify the factors that shape the global political priority of preterm birth and too prematurity within the larger RMNCH agendas.Background Neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction (NLUTD) is common among people with multiple sclerosis (MS) with a pooled prevalence of 68.41% using self-report measures and 63.95% using urodynamic studies. Transcutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (TTNS) is a non-invasive option to manage bladder storage symptoms; however, the potential efficacy of TTNS among people with MS is based on a small number of studies with the absence of high-quality evidence relating to efficacy, and lack of clarity of the optimal electrical stimulation parameters and frequency, duration and number of treatment sessions. This study aims to assess whether TTNS is feasible and acceptable as a treatment for bladder storage symptoms in people with MS. Methods We will use a single-arm experimental study to explore the feasibility and acceptability of TTNS in the treatment of bladder storage symptoms in MS. The CONSORT extension for pilot and feasibility studies will be followed to standardise the conduct and reporting of the study. The recruitment plan is twofold 1) Open recruitment for people with MS through MS Ireland's communication channels; 2) recruitment from a convenience sample of people with MS who have previously participated in a qualitative interview study of urinary symptoms. We will assess recruitment/retention rates, the urinary symptoms changes and the effect on quality of life pre and post intervention using ICIQ-OAB, 3-day bladder diary, King's Health Questionnaire and collect self-reported data on adherence and adverse events. Acceptability of using TTNS will be evaluated at the end of intervention. This study has been reviewed and approved by the Education and Health Science's Faculty Research Ethics Committee, University of Limerick [2020_06_07_EHS]. Conclusion It is anticipated that assessing the feasibility and acceptability of TTNS for storage bladder symptoms in MS will inform the development of a definitive randomised trial. On the other hand, it is conceivable that multiple sources of predictability do not increase dual-task performance further, as they complicate performance due to having to process information from multiple sources. In this study, we combined two sources of predictability, predictive visual information and prior knowledge (implicit learning and explicit learning) in a dual-task setup. 22 participants performed a continuous tracking task together with an auditory reaction time task over three days. The middle segment of the tracking task was repeating to promote motor learning, but only half of the participants was informed about this. After the practice blocks (day 3), we provided participants with predictive visual information about the tracking path to test whether visual information would add to beneficial effects of prior knowledge (additive effects of predictability). Results show that both predictive visual information and prior knowledge improved dual-task performance, presented simultaneously or in absence of each other. These results show that processing of information relevant for enhancement of task performance is unhindered by dual-task demands.

The objective of this review was to summarize and evaluate evidence on changes in health-related outcomes among CRC patients undergoing inpatient rehabilitation therapy and on the effectiveness of such treatment.

    We conducted a systematic literature search including the electronic databases Pubmed and Web of Science to find observational and interventional studies, which investigated changes in health-related outcomes among CRC patients undergoing multidisciplinary inpatient rehabilitation programs or treatment effects. Study findings were synthesized narratively.

    Eleven studies were eligible and included in this review. Eight patient cohort studies addressed outcomes such as physical and functional status, fecal incontinence, anxiety and depression, and quality of life. Positive changes during rehabilitation therapy were observetime. Further large representative studies, in particular RCTs with long-term follow-up, are essential to evaluate the effectiveness of inpatient rehabilitation and identify determinants of treatment success.

Due to the lack of a comparison group in most studies, we were only able to evaluate changes during/after inpatient rehabilitation therapy but not the effectiveness of treatment.     Forty-eight New Zealand rabbits were divided into six groups (
     = 8) normal (normal rabbits treated with 0.5% CMC-Na), vehicle (ASO rabbits treated with 0.5% CMC-Na), positive (simvastatin, 1.53 mg/kg), and QMY treatment (300, 600, and 1200 mg/kg). ASO rabbit model was prepared by high fatty feeding, roundly shortening artery, and bovine serum albumin immune injury. QMY (300, 600 and 1200 mg/kg) was orally administered for 8 weeks. The effects and possible mechanisms of QMY on ASO rabbits were evaluated by pathological examination, biochemical assays, and immunohistochemical assays. The compositions of QMY were analysed using HPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS analysis.

    Compared to the vehicle rabbit, QMY treatment suppressed plaque formation and intima thickness in aorta, and decreased intima thickness, whereas increased lumen area of femoral artery. Additionally, QMY treatment decreased TC, TG and LDL, decreased CRP and ET, and increased NO and 6-K-PGF1α in serum. Furthermore, the potential mechanisms studied revealed that QMY treatment could suppress expression of TNF-α, IL-6, ICAM-1 and NF-κB in endothelial tissues, and increase IκB. In addition, HPLC analysis showed QMY had abundant anthraquinones, stilbenes, and flavonoids.

However, many issues remain to be addressed in the process of developing this technology, including but not limited to the potentially overwhelming amount of information generated, definition of diagnostic thresholds, demonstration of validity, contamination, and cost. (QMY) is a clinically used herbal formula for treating arteriosclerosis obliterans (ASO). To evaluate the chemical constituents and effects of QMY on ASO rabbit model. Forty-eight New Zealand rabbits were divided into six groups (  = 8) normal (normal rabbits treated with 0.5% CMC-Na), vehicle (ASO rabbits treated with 0.5% CMC-Na), positive (simvastatin, 1.53 mg/kg), and QMY treatment (300, 600, and 1200 mg/kg). ASO rabbit model was prepared by high fatty feeding, roundly shortening artery, and bovine serum albumin immune injury. QMY (300, 600 and 1200 mg/kg) was orally administered for 8 weeks. The effects and possible mechanisms of QMY on ASO rabbits were evaluated by pathological examination, biochemical assays, and immunohistochemical assays. The compositions of QMY were analysed using HPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS analysis. Compared to the vehicle rabbit, QMY treatment suppressed plaque formation and intima thickness in aorta, and decreased intima thickness, whereas increased lumen area of femoral artery. Additionally, QMY treatment decreased TC, TG and LDL, decreased CRP and ET, and increased NO and 6-K-PGF1α in serum. Furthermore, the potential mechanisms studied revealed that QMY treatment could suppress expression of TNF-α, IL-6, ICAM-1 and NF-κB in endothelial tissues, and increase IκB. In addition, HPLC analysis showed QMY had abundant anthraquinones, stilbenes, and flavonoids. QMY has ameliorative effects on ASO rabbit, and the potential mechanisms are correlated to reducing inflammation and down-regulating NF-κB. Our study provides a scientific basis for the future application and investigation of QMY. Air samples were collected into a liquid medium by the Coriolis μ sampler for A. pleuropneumoniae detection by plate culture and qPCR assay. The method was validated by comparing the Coriolis μ sampler and a plate impactor (Millipore Air-T) in a specially designed aerosolization chamber. Two commercial farms, housing pigs between 3 and 21 weeks of age, were tested. On one farm, A. pleuropneumoniae was detected in low numbers (1000 organisms/m3 air) by qPCR, but not by culture, from sheds containing 8, 12, 16, and 18 weeks-old pigs. To our knowledge this is the first successful detection of naturally aerosolised A. pleuropneumoniae in commercial farms with the Coriolis μ air sampler, potentially allowing the identification of sub-clinically infected populations of pigs in the field.

  • Single-incision laparoscopic gastrectomy can be difficult because of complex instrumentation and a limited working angle. We standardized a needle device-assisted single-incision laparoscopic gastrectomy (NA-SILG) procedure for early gastric cancer in 2013. Herein, we present our technique and evaluate it in comparison to the conventional laparoscopic gastrectomy CLG) technique.

    We retrospectively reviewed medical records of 149 patients who underwent a NA-SILG or distal (CLG) for early gastric cancer between January 2013 and August 2016. We performed 11 propensity score matching between the two groups.

    Eighteen patients who underwent a NA-SILG and 131 who underwent a CLG were included. Almost all patients were in clinical stage IA. Operative times were 216 ± 29.7 minutes and 220 ± 51.7 minutes for the NA-SILG and CLG groups, respectively; the median intraoperative bleeding amounts were 5 mL and 10 mL for the NA-SILG and CLG groups, respectively. The median number of retrieved lymph nodes was 41.5 and 57 for the NA-SILG and CLG groups, respectively. The number of patients needing analgesics was significantly lower in the NA-SILG group (P = .003) than in the CLG group. Neither group had postoperative complications more severe than Clavien-Dindo classification III.

    To determine the efficiency of prostate health index (PHI) calculated simultaneously during an ultrasound-guided fine-needle prostate biopsy in prostate cancer diagnosis.

    The present study included 258 subsequent patients who underwent a TRUS-guided biopsy in our clinic between August 2015 and March 2016 due to elevated blood levels of PSA and suspicion of prostate cancer. The total PSA, free PSA and pro-PSA were analysed in all patients before the procedure.

    The average age of 258 patients was 63.5 (36-91) years, and the mean PSA level and mean PHI values were 40.1 (0.12-2170) and 118 (0.41-1308), respectively. According to the PSA data, the patients were divided into two groups the low PSA (<4ng/mL) group containing ten patients with adenocancer (31.2%) and 22 patients with BPH (68.8%) and the high PSA (>4ng/mL) group consisting of 86 patients with adenocancer (42.2%) and 118 (57.8%) with BPH. The sensitivity and specificity of PSA in detecting prostate adenocancer were calculated as 89.6% and 15.7%, respectively. Similarly, when a PHI level below 55 was accepted as low, and a PHI level at or above 55 was accepted as high, PHI's sensitivity and specificity were determined as 71.9% and 67.9%, respectively.

    The decidua is a tissue that contacts both maternal and foetal components and is pivotal to labour onset due to its location. Due to the heterogeneity of decidual tissue, it is challenging to study its role in the peripartum period. Herein, we analysed the transcriptomes of peripartum decidua at single-cell resolution.

    Single-cell RNA sequencing was performed for 29231 decidual cells before and after delivery to characterize the transcriptomes.

    Eight major cell types (including endothelial cells, fibroblasts) and subtypes of decidual stromal cells, extravillous trophoblasts and T cells were identified and found to have various functions. Compared with before delivery, the activation of decidual stromal cell, extravillous trophoblast and T-cell subtypes to different degrees was observed after delivery. Furthermore, the activation involved multiple functions, such as cell proliferation, and several pathways, such as the activator protein 1 pathway. The results of pseudotemporal ordering showed differentiation of decidual stromal cell and extravillous trophoblast subtypes, suggesting inhomogeneity of these subgroups in decidualization (decidual stromal cell) and invasion (extravillous trophoblast).

The occupational risk prevention technicians of the Occupational Health Service (OHS) of the Institute of Public and Work Health of Navarre and those of the External Prevention Services (EPS), under the executive coordination of the OHS, visited the enterprises to advise, verify and require, if necessary, compliance with the instructions dictated.

    The compliance of the preventive instructions is higher in the industrial sector than in the construction sector. Cleaning practices, hygienic resources and the provision of respiratory protection equipment are widespread. The application of necessary measures in common places (restrooms, dining rooms) are less frequent. There is a lack of informative posters and written corroboration of the preventive instructions. The difference of several results between the OHS and the EPS technicians is remarkable.

Principles of reconstruction are focused on recreating an aesthetically pleasing breast shape and achieving symmetrization. Traditionally, reconstruction commonly involved utilization of breast implants or local flap to achieve these goals. The introduction of fat transfer has led to a paradigm shift in aesthetic breast surgery. Fat grafting is safe and can reliably achieve satisfactory aesthetic results in selected cases and reduces the need for implants or local *****. Two months after, presented with multiple small lesions within the hepatic parenchyma and diffuse ductal dilatation of the right biliary system. Therefore, treated with a percutaneous biliary drain placement without complications. In a patient diagnosed with initial Stage II PTC, undergoing total thyroidectomy 10 years before presenting to the clinic. Bearing over a decade of treatments for local and distal recurrences. We believe approaching strategies for this specific disease should be developed to establish standard management.Intestinal perforation following the ingestion of fishbone is unusual and rarely diagnosed preoperatively, as clinical and radiological findings are non-specific. We report a case of a female patient post Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGBP) for obesity, who presented with severe abdominal pain and guarding in left iliac fossa. Computed tomography (CT) suggested internal herniation with compromised vascular supply to the bowel. Exploratory laparotomy identified a perforation site in the blind loop of the RYGBP due to a protruding fishbone. After extraction, primary suture repair was performed. In retrospect, the fishbone was identified on CT but misinterpreted as suture line at the enteroenterostomy site. This case emphasizes that although rare, the ingestion of fishbone can lead to severe complications and should therefore be included in the differential for an acute abdomen. On CT, it should be noted that fishbone may simulate suture line within the bowel if the patient has history of previous surgery.Perioperative cardiac tamponade during central venous catheter placement is rare. We present a case of tamponade from pulmonary artery injury during dialysis catheter placement resulting in complicated sternotomy and hospital course. A 52-year-old female experienced intraoperative hypotension, rapidly identified as tamponade, that was treated with an emergent paramedian sternotomy. Patient experienced postdischarge dehiscence and osteomyelitis requiring multiple reoperations. This case is the first report of a deviated paramedian sternotomy performed mainly through ribs. Although the majority of HAMLs are stable lesions, resection should perhaps be considered when the tumor is known to be growing and exceeds 6 cm in diameter, even if it has been diagnosed as benign.Mucinous lesions of appendix are a rare clinical entity and may be neoplastic or non-neoplastic. The diagnosis is usual incidental during computed tomography scan or colonoscopy performed for general abdominal symptoms or occasional finding during operation for acute appendicitis. For this reason, initial treatment should be tailored to the situation, aiming at complete resection of the appendix with disease-free margins this can be achieved by simple appendectomy or more extensive resection. The pathological examination of the specimen is the key to offer the patient a correct and complete treatment, and, if a neoplastic pathology is found, the case should be discussed in multidisciplinary group. We describe three cases with different clinical presentation leading to different surgical treatment one elective case, in which the diagnosis was suspected preoperatively; and two urgent cases, one mimicking an intussusception and another one presenting as an acute appendicitis.Recurrent malignant solid pseudopapillary neoplasms of the pancreas (SPNP) are rare tumors with unpredictable clinical and histopathological features. There is a lack of consensus regarding utilization of adjuvant modalities in conjunction with or in lieu of curative metastatectomy. We present a remarkable case where Yttrium-90 selective internal radiation therapy (Y-90 SIRT) was successfully utilized to elucidate underlying tumor biology and aid resection of a large multifocal recurrent metastatic SPNP in the right hemi-liver of a 59-year-old female. Thus, in cases where curative metastatectomy remains the treatment goal in management of recurrent and/or metastatic SPNPs, Y-90 SIRT is a safe and effective adjunct treatment to facilitate curative resection.
