    Oral health problems increase with age, and are common in nursing home residents, especially in those with dementia. These problems can lead to tooth loss, diminished oral function and malnutrition.

    To compare oral function, nutritional status and quality of life (QoL) between residents with and without dementia, and to examine associations between these variables.

    Cross-sectional study conducted in four UK nursing homes. Residents aged 65+with and without dementia were included. Information was collected on demographics, dental status, quality of swallowing and chewing, xerostomia and orofacial pain. During oral examination, information was collected on number of teeth and occlusal units (OU), and functional categories (eg, OU combined with dentures). Multiple linear regression was used for statistical analysis.

    Of 84 residents with and 27 without dementia participated. Residents with dementia had significantly fewer teeth (Dementia median (IQR)=14 (6-21), vs No dementia 22 (12.75-24.25); P=.021), fewer OU (Dementia median (IQR)=0 (0-3), vs No dementia 4 (0-7); P=.001) and poorer functional categories (Z=-3.283; P=.001), and nutritional status was significantly poorer than those without (Dementia Mean (SD)=8.3 (2.7), vs No dementia 10.4 (2.0); P=.002). In the regression model, quality of chewing (Coef (95% CI)=-1.27 (-2.22, -0.31); P=.010) was significantly correlated with nutritional status.

The final sample yielded a total of 22 commentaries, editorials, discussion papers, and a research study that explicitly addressed the intersection of COVID-19 and climate change. However, LVADs are associated with challenges, especially in the presence of a cardiac implantable electronic device. Although a leadless pacemaker (PM), the Micra™ Transcatheter Pacing System, can be used with LVADs, data regarding HeartMate 3™ LVAD are limited. In this report, we present a patient with a HeartMate 3™ LVAD who underwent successful leadless PM implantation after the removal of an infected cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator.Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine diseases of fertile women and a major cause of infertility. The regulatory effects of DNA methylation on gene transcription and downstream lipid metabolism have not been explored in PCOS. In this study, MBD-seq and RNA-seq were performed on ovarian granulosa cells of PCOS patients and controls, and methylation specific PCR and quantitative polymerase chain reaction were used to validate the results. Then lipidomic profiling was conducted on serum of PCOS patients and controls using UPLC-MS. We identified 73 genes with differently methylated promoters and 830 differently expressed genes. The promoter regions of LPCAT1 and PCYT1A were hypermethylated, accompanied by downregulation of their messenger RNA expression, which may be involved in the regulation of PCOS through downstream glycerophospholipid metabolism and phosphatidylcholine synthesis. The lipid profiling results showed significant changes in 21 lipids, which demonstrated the disturbance in glycerophospholipid metabolism and glycerolipid metabolism pathways.

    To assess the effects of proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 inhibitor (evolocumab) on lipoprotein particles subfractions with Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy in patients with acute coronary syndromes.

    A total of 99 consecutive patients with ACS were enrolled and assigned to either the experimental group (n = 54) or the control group (n = 45). The combination therapy of PCSK9 inhibitor (Repatha®, 140mg, q2w) and moderate statin (Rosuvastatin, 10mg, qn) was administered in the experimental group, with statin monotherapy (Rosuvastatin, 10mg, qn) in the control group. The therapeutic effects on lipoprotein particle subfractions were assessed with NMR spectroscopy after 8weeks treatment, and the achievement of LDL-C therapeutic target in both groups were analyzed.

    In the experimental group, after 8weeks of evolocumab combinationtreatment, the concentrations of blood lipids (TC, LDL-C and its subfractions [LDL-1 to 6], VLDL-C and its subfractions [VLDL-1 to 5], IDL-C, and HDL-C), lipoproteieks significantly improves the plasma lipid profiles in ACS patients, and significantly decrease the concentration of lipoprotein particles which might contribute to the pathonesis of atherosclerosis.

With increasing number of algorithms being proposed, effectively comparing them with state-of-the-art algorithms is paramount. These comparisons are usually performed using real data, without a known ground-truth, thus limiting the assessments. In this context, we propose a synthetic data generator, G-Tric, allowing the creation of synthetic datasets with configurable properties and the possibility to plant triclusters. The generator is prepared to create datasets resembling real 3-way data from biomedical and sociailable, highlighting G-Tric's potential to advance triclustering state-of-the-art by easing the process of evaluating the quality of new triclustering approaches.

    As more CGRP mAb studies are conducted and more long-term follow-up data become available, evidence is increasing that immunogenicity rates of biologic therapies for migraine are low, and adverse events related to ADAs are rare. Taken together, these results add to the growing body of evidence for the safety and tolerability of this class of migraine medications.
    A high prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors including age, male sex, hypertension, diabetes, and tobacco use, has been reported in patients with Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) who experienced adverse outcome. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between cardiovascular risk factors and in-hospital mortality in patients with COVID-19.

    MEDLINE, Cochrane, Web of Sciences, and SCOPUS were searched for retrospective or prospective observational studies reporting data on cardiovascular risk factors and in-hospital mortality in patients with COVID-19. Univariable and multivariable age-adjusted analyses were conducted to evaluate the association between cardiovascular risk factors and the occurrence of in-hospital death.

    The analysis included 45 studies enrolling 18,300 patients. The pooled estimate of in-hospital mortality was 12% (95% CI 9-15%). The univariable meta-regression analysis showed a significant association between age (coefficient 1.06; 95% CI 1.04-1.09; p < 0.001), male sex, hypertension, and smoking did not independently correlate with fatal outcome.
    Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are widely expressed in cells and tissues and are involved in biological processes and human diseases. Recent studies have demonstrated that circRNAs can interact with RNA-binding proteins (RBPs), which is considered an important aspect for investigating the function of circRNAs.

    In this study, we design a slight variant of the capsule network, called circRB, to identify the sequence specificities of circRNAs binding to RBPs. In this model, the sequence features of circRNAs are extracted by convolution operations, and then, two dynamic routing algorithms in a capsule network are employed to discriminate between different binding sites by analysing the convolution features of binding sites. The experimental results show that the circRB method outperforms the existing computational methods. Afterwards, the trained models are applied to detect the sequence motifs on the seven circRNA-RBP bound sequence datasets and matched to known human RNA motifs. Some motifs on circular RNAs overlap with those on linear RNAs.

  • Argireline-containing cosmetics attract public interest due to their confirmed reduction of facial wrinkles. Argireline is a peptide that works by inhibiting the release of neurotransmitters in the neuromuscular junction, producing a botox-like effect. Therefore, it is used as a safe needle-free alternative to botox treatment. In this work we investigated the presence of Argireline in cosmetic creams and sera by application of reversed phase liquid chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry (RP-HPLC/MS and MS/MS). The analysis revealed the presence of argireline and its oxidized form in several different cosmetics. The methionine residue in Argireline sequence was indicated as oxidation point according to neutral loss MS studies. The developed sample preparation strategy minimizes and monitors methionine oxidation, bringing to our attention the question of impact of ingredients on the stability of cosmetic product.
    Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) patients refractory to rituximab-based immunochemotherapy have a dismal prognosis. However, the definition of refractory DLBCL remains inconsistent and no large cohort study data is available from Asian countries. To validate the definition and outcomes of refractory DLBCL in China, we conducted a multicenter, retrospective cohort study.

    The REtrospective AnaLysis of Treatment REspoNse of refractory DLBCL (REAL-TREND) study was performed using real-world data from 8 centers in China. DLBCL patients with curative intent were included in the REAL-TREND dataset. Overall survival (OS) was estimated using the Kaplan-Meier method and compared by the log-rank test. Due to heterogeneity in response rates among different centers, the response rates of refractory patients were pooled using random-effect models. Multivariate survival analysis was performed using the Cox regression model.

The sample consisted of 535 students attending 6-8 grades in five schools randomly selected of 18 schools located in the city centre where the Syrian children received their education. Data were collected using the Sociodemographic Characteristics Question Form, the Depression Scale for Children and the UCLA Loneliness Scale. Data were analysed by IBM spss v23. The percentage, average and standard deviation were determined. A linear regression analysis was used to examine the independent variables affecting loneliness and depression scores, and the Backward method was used to include independent variables in the model. Significance level was considered as P<.05.

About 42% of the children received ≥19 on the depression scale, and 65% of them received ≥40 on the UCLA Loneliness Scale. Independent variables affecting depression score and UCLA loneliness score were analysed by a linear regression analysis. The linear regression model established for depression and UCLA loneliness score was obtained as statistically significant (P<.001).

The SEM micrographs showed that low content (0.75 wt%) of epoxidized oils (EOs), especially ESO, improved the compatibility of the composites, while high content (3 wt%) of EO induced many voids. The melting temperature of the composites was increased by the incorporation of both EOs. Thermal stability of the bioplastics was increased by the introduction of ESO. Low contents of EO led to a huge enhancement of tensile strength, while higher contents of EO showed a negative effect, due to the phase separation. The tensile strength increased from 0.83 MPa of the control sample to 3.92 and 5.42 MPa for the composites with 1.5 wt% EPO and 0.75 wt% ESO, respectively. EOs reduced the composites' water uptake and solubility but increased the water vapor permeability. Overall, the reinforcing effect of ESO was better than EPO. These results suggested that both EOs can be utilized as modifiers to prepare starch/empty-fruit-bunch-based bioplastic composites with enhanced properties.WRKY transcription factors are key regulators of many plant processes, most notably coping with biotic and abiotic stresses. Compared to controls, whiteflies lived longer and laid more eggs on NtWRKY-silenced tobacco plants but performed less well on NtWRKY-overexpressing plants. The three NtWRKYs interacted with five mitogen-activated protein kinases (NtMAPKs) in vivo and in vitro. These results suggest that the WRKYs in tobacco positively modulate plant defense against whiteflies through interaction with the mitogen-activated protein kinase cascade (MAPK cascade) pathways, and thus provide new insights into plant defense against phloem-feeding insects.

  • In this study, a combination of reverse microemulsion and hydrothermal techniques were used to synthesize HA. A hydrothermal method was used to synthesize HA/TiO2/CNT nanocomposite powders. Cold and hot isostatic pressing techniques were used to fabricate tablet-shaped samples. To investigate the biocompatibility and tribo-mechanical properties of HA/TiO2 and HA/TiO2/CNTs, four samples were prepared with different percentages of CNTs, namely, HA/TiO2 (S0), HA/TiO2/CNT (S1.0), HA/TiO2/CNT (S2.0), and HA/TiO2/CNT (S3.0). The microstructure and morphology of the HA/TiO2/CNTs were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. Hardness test results show that S3.0 displayed the highest surface hardness (285 HV) compared to other samples. The wear rate of HA/TiO2/CNT with the highest CNT content showed a decrease compared with those of the other samples. The results from nanoindentation tests showed that Young's modulus of the S3.0 sample was 58.1% greater than that of the S0 sample. We retrospectively analyzed the data of 208 patients who underwent R0 gastrectomy with curative intent and who have ≤ 15 retrieved lymph nodes (RLNs) for RGC between 2000 and 2014. The patients were divided into four groups on the basis of the NR cutoffs rN0 0; rN1 > 0 and ≤ 1/6; rN2 > 1/6 and ≤ 1/2; and rN3 > 1/2. The 5-year overall survival (OS) rates for rN0, rN1, rN2, and rN3 were 84.3%, 64.7%, 31.5%, and 12.7%, respectively. Multivariable analyses revealed that tumor size (p = 0.005), lymphovascular invasion (p = 0.023), and NR (p  less then  0.001), but not pN stage (p = 0.682), were independent factors for OS. To address this gap, we performed a multi-state metagenomic survey and found high levels of bacteria associated with enteric inflammation (e.g. Escherichia, Klebsiella), antibiotic resistance genes, and signatures of dysbiosis, independent of location, age, and diet. Bifidobacterium were less abundant than generally expected and the species identified, including B. breve, B. longum and B. bifidum, had limited genetic capacity to metabolize human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs), while B. infantis strains with a complete capacity for HMOs utilization were found to be exceptionally rare. Considering microbiome composition and functional capacity, this survey revealed a previously unappreciated dysbiosis that is widespread in the contemporary US infant gut microbiome.Various non-pharmaceutical interventions were adopted by countries worldwide in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic with adverse socioeconomic side effects, which raises the question about their differential effectiveness. We estimate the average dynamic effect of each intervention on the incidence of COVID-19 and on people's whereabouts by developing a statistical model that accounts for the contemporaneous adoption of multiple interventions. Using daily data from 175 countries, we show that, even after controlling for other concurrent lockdown policies, cancelling public events, imposing restrictions on private gatherings and closing schools and workplaces had significant effects on reducing COVID-19 infections. Restrictions on internal movement and public transport had no effects because the aforementioned policies, imposed earlier on average, had already de facto reduced human mobility. International travel restrictions, although imposed early, had a short-lived effect failing to prevent the epidemic from turning into a pandemic because they were less stringent. We interpret the impact of each intervention on containing the pandemic using a conceptual framework which relies on their effects on human mobility behaviors in a manner consistent with time-use and epidemiological factors.

To investigate the biocompatibility and tribo-mechanical properties of HA/TiO2 and HA/TiO2/CNTs, four samples were prepared with different percentages of CNTs, namely, HA/TiO2 (S0), HA/TiO2/CNT (S1.0), HA/TiO2/CNT (S2.0), and HA/TiO2/CNT (S3.0). The microstructure and morphology of the HA/TiO2/CNTs were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. Hardness test results show that S3.0 displayed the highest surface hardness (285 HV) compared to other samples. The wear rate of HA/TiO2/CNT with the highest CNT content showed a decrease compared with those of the other samples. The results from nanoindentation tests showed that Young's modulus of the S3.0 sample was 58.1% greater than that of the S0 sample. The patients were divided into four groups on the basis of the NR cutoffs rN0 0; rN1 > 0 and ≤ 1/6; rN2 > 1/6 and ≤ 1/2; and rN3 > 1/2. The 5-year overall survival (OS) rates for rN0, rN1, rN2, and rN3 were 84.3%, 64.7%, 31.5%, and 12.7%, respectively. Multivariable analyses revealed that tumor size (p = 0.005), lymphovascular invasion (p = 0.023), and NR (p  less then  0.001), but not pN stage (p = 0.682), were independent factors for OS. We estimate the average dynamic effect of each intervention on the incidence of COVID-19 and on people's whereabouts by developing a statistical model that accounts for the contemporaneous adoption of multiple interventions. Using daily data from 175 countries, we show that, even after controlling for other concurrent lockdown policies, cancelling public events, imposing restrictions on private gatherings and closing schools and workplaces had significant effects on reducing COVID-19 infections. Restrictions on internal movement and public transport had no effects because the aforementioned policies, imposed earlier on average, had already de facto reduced human mobility. International travel restrictions, although imposed early, had a short-lived effect failing to prevent the epidemic from turning into a pandemic because they were less stringent. We interpret the impact of each intervention on containing the pandemic using a conceptual framework which relies on their effects on human mobility behaviors in a manner consistent with time-use and epidemiological factors.

    Migrating between rural and urban areas over the life course profoundly shapes the conditions of later life. In the Chinese context, living in urban areas with an urban Hukou is associated with socioeconomic advantage. This study attempts to investigate how migration into urban areas in China is related to these processes and the association with risk of depression in later life by focusing on the timing and the type of migration (rural-urban residential mobility and/or institutional transition of Hukou status).

    We use sequence analysis to identify migration trajectories in the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study. Then we estimate how and why these trajectories are associated with risk of depression at older ages using a random intercept hierarchical linear model, distinguishing between three levels city, household and individual.

The objectives of the study were to (1) explore and compare the QoL of older slum and non-slum dwellers in Ghana; and (2) determine the extent of QoL disparities between slum and non-slum older adults. To accomplish these objectives, we undertook a cross-sectional survey of older adults (N = 603) residing in a slum and non-slum neighbourhood. QoL was self-assessed in four domains - physical, psychological, social, and environment - using the World Health Organization (WHO) QoL assessment tool (WHOQoL-BREF). Multivariable linear regression analyses of the data revealed no statistically significant difference between the slum and non-slum respondents in physical (coeff 0.5; 95% CI -1.7, 2.8; p = 0.642) and psychological (coeff -0.2; 95% CI -3.0, 2.6; p = 0.893) QoL. However, the slum respondents reported significantly higher social QoL than the non-slum respondents (coeff -3.2; 95% CI -5.6, -0.8; p = 0.010), while the reverse was true in environmental QoL (coeff 4.2; 95% CI 2.3, 6.2; p less then 0.001). The existence of strong social support systems in the slum and better housing and neighbourhood environmental conditions in the non-slum may have accounted for the observed variation in social and environmental QoL. Thus, contrary to popular discourses that vilify slums as health-damaging milieus, these findings offer a more nuanced picture, and suggest that some features of slums may constitute important health resources for older adults.This paper examines how to apply a spatial approach (relational and geographical) to care pathways for their better integration within their territories. This inseparability is constructed from the proposal of a method for mapping the integrated care pathways in their territories. The key targets in the shared pathways of network pharmacology and metabolomics were screened and experimentally validated by Quantitative Real-time PCR analysis. The results showed that SCF could exert excellent effects on DILI by APAP probably through regulating ErbB signaling pathway and Arachidonic acid metabolism pathway, which was reflected by the reduced gene expression of TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β, COX-2 and EGFR, as well as the increased gene expression of Nrf2, HO-1, MDM2, MAPK8, SRC, PLD1, CYP2E1, CYP1A2, CYP3A1. This study systematically explored the pharmacological mechanisms of SCF in the treatment of DILI, meanwhile, metabolomics combine with network pharmacology approach might be a useful strategy for early diagnosis of DILI by APAP.

Thus, if ESRRG is pivotally associated with the abnormal trophoblast turnover and function it may be targeted by microRNAs or other possible upstream regulators in the placenta. This review explores altered expression of ESRRG and upstream regulation of ESRRG-mediated pathways resulting in the trophoblast turnover, placental vascularisation, and placental metabolism underlying placental dysfunctions.     Men who have sex with men (MSM) have an increased risk of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and related diseases compared with men who have sex exclusively with women. From April 2018, there has been a phased roll-out of HPV vaccination offered to MSM aged up to 45 years old who are attending sexual health clinics and HIV clinics in England. The vaccine is most effective if delivered prior to HPV infection. We estimated the proportion of MSM with no current vaccine-type infection and no serological evidence of prior infection, in a study undertaken prior to vaccine introduction.

    We conducted a cross-sectional study among 484 MSM aged 18-40 years old who attended a sexual health clinic in London between 2010 and 2012. We estimated the prevalence of current and past infection by testing for HPV DNA in anogenital samples and for serum antibodies to HPV16 and HPV18.

    The median age was 30 years (IQR 25-35). The prevalence of HPV16 and HPV18 DNA was 13.2% and 6.2%, respectively. Seropositivity for HPV16 annt infection with either of the high-risk HPV types included in the quadrivalent vaccine, which supports the rationale for opportunistic HPV vaccination of MSM attending sexual health clinics.
    Current guidelines for women do not include extragenital screening for
    (CT) and
    (NG) and do not mention anal sex behaviour. The objective of this cross-sectional study was to determine the number of potentially missed CT and NG cases by relying on urogenital screening and self-reported anal sex behaviour among women.

    Demographic and clinical data of 4658 women attending a community health centre in Los Angeles, California, USA from 2015 to 2018 were examined. CT and NG were detected using nucleic acid amplification test (APTIMA Combo 2, Hologic Gen-Probe, San Diego, California). Demographic and behavioural factors were also examined to assess potentially missed NG/CT cases. Multivariable regression analyses were used to determine whether reported anal sex behaviour predicts NG/CT rectal infection.

    A total of 193 NG cases and 552 CT cases were identified; however, 53.9% of NG cases and 25.5% of CT cases were identified exclusively through extragenital screening. Of all positive cases of rectal CT, 87.0% did not report anal sex without a condom and 91.3% did not report any anal sex with their last sexual partner. Of all positive cases of rectal NG, 78.9% did not report anal sex without a condom and 76.3% did not report any anal sex with their last sexual partner. Anal sex with last partner was not predictive of NG/CT rectal infection.

Leveraging the www.Hippocampome.org knowledge base, we derive local connection parameters between distinct pairs of morphologically identified neuron types based on their axonal-dendritic overlap within every layer and subregion of the hippocampal formation. Specifically, we adapt modern image analysis technology to determine the parcel-specific neurite lengths of every neuron type from representative morphologic reconstructions obtained from either sex. We then compute the average number of synapses per neuron pair using relevant anatomic volumes from the mouse brain atlas and ultrastructurally estab neuron type circuit of this brain region is thus important to understand the cellular mechanisms of learning and navigation. Here we present the first numerical estimates of connection probabilities, numbers of contacts per connected pair, and synaptic distances from the soma along the axonal and dendritic paths, for more than 1900 distinct neuron type pairs throughout the dentate gyrus, CA3, CA2, CA1, subiculum, and entorhinal cortex. The current study explored the relationships between paid work and productive activities and SWB in Medicare beneficiary older adults predominantly living in the community. The 2015-2016 data (N = 2,916) from the National Health and Aging Trends Study were used. Multiple linear regressions with complex survey data were performed. Aside from paid work, the productive activities included in the analyses were volunteer work, caregiving role, social participation, online networking, and physical activity. After controlling for health-related, sociodemographic, and baseline SWB variables, three productive activities, but not paid work, were significantly related to SWB. Older adults who were physically active, engaged in volunteer work, and had increased social participation had significantly increased SWB. These findings encourage older adults to remain physically active and engage when possible in productive activities that are more social than economic in nature. The primary aim of this integrative review was to summarize and synthesize the current state of knowledge about relationships between cognitive impairment and DSMB in older adults with type 2 diabetes. The review was guided by Whittemore and Knafl's 2005 framework, and study quality was evaluated using the Crowe Critical Appraisal Tool. Of 27 studies reviewed, 24 were quantitative, and three were qualitative. Heterogeneity was noted in study design, participant characteristics, and measures of cognitive function and DSMB. Overall, global cognitive impairment and executive function impairment related particularly to poor medication management and glucose self-monitoring. The findings supported the need for routine cognitive assessment of older adults with diabetes, but more longitudinal and interventional studies are needed to better define cognitive impairment-DSMB relationships. We investigate the potential for adaptive introgression in the copepod, Tigriopus californicus, by hybridizing two populations with divergent heat tolerance limits. We subjected hybrids to strong heat selection for 15 generations followed by whole-genome resequencing. Utilizing a hybridize evolve and resequence (HER) technique, we can identify loci responding to heat selection via a change in allele frequency. We successfully increased the heat tolerance (measured as LT50) in selected lines, which was coupled with higher frequencies of alleles from the southern (heat tolerant) population. These repeatable changes in allele frequencies occurred on all 12 chromosomes across all independent selected lines, providing evidence that heat tolerance is polygenic. These loci contained genes with lower protein-coding sequence divergence than the genome-wide average, indicating that these loci are highly conserved between the two populations.     The aims of the study are to identify health-related behaviors associated with sexual orientation among active duty military personnel and to compare those behaviors when lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) groups are aggregated and disaggregated.

    We used public data from the 2015 Health-Related Behavior Survey of Active Duty Military Personnel. Binomial logistic regression analyses were used to examine differences between and within heterosexual, same-sex, and bisexual groups as predicted by the following correlates demographic characteristics, physical activity, substance use, probable mood disorders, unwanted sexual contact, physical abuse, suicidal behaviors, and sexually transmitted infection (STI).

    In univariate analyses, rates of lifetime unwanted sexual contact and lifetime suicidal ideation were significantly higher for bisexual females compared to other groups. The results of regression analyses differed depending on whether LGB groups were aggregated or disaggregated. Aggregated LGB versus heterthat future studies and clinical care consider LGB sexual identities as heterogeneous groups; otherwise, risks for adverse health behaviors may be overlooked.Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB). It spreads from one person to the another through the air while coughing, spitting, speaking or sneezing. TB most commonly affects lungs but it can affect any organ system. Diagnosis of TB is made on the basis of microbiological evidence of MTB on microscopic examination, cultures and chest X-rays. Poncet's disease is a separate entity in which joints are involved in the form of joint pain and swelling without any microbiological evidence of MTB. It usually occurs in the background setting of pulmonary TB. This case focuses on importance of considering Poncet's disease in the differential diagnosis of paediatric polyarticular arthritis in TB endemic regions or if there is a history suggestive of TB exposure and infection.
