  • A previously identified transcriptional regulator in Campylobacter jejuni, termed HeuR, was found to positively regulate heme utilization. Additionally, transcriptomic work demonstrated that the putative operons CJJ81176_1390 to CJJ81176_1394 (CJJ81176_1390-1394) and CJJ81176_1214-1217 were upregulated in a HeuR mutant, suggesting that HeuR negatively regulates expression of these genes.     Substantial health inequities exist for Indigenous Peoples in Canada. The remote and distributed population of Canada presents unique challenges for access to and use of surgery. To date, the surgical outcome data for Indigenous Peoples in Canada have not been synthesized.

    We searched 4 databases to identify studies comparing surgical outcomes and utilization rates of adults of First Nations, Inuit or Métis identity with non-Indigenous people in Canada. Independent reviewers completed all stages in duplicate. Our primary outcome was mortality; secondary outcomes included utilization rates of surgical procedures, complications and hospital length of stay. We performed meta-analysis of the primary outcome using random effects models. We assessed risk of bias using the ROBINS-I tool.

    While clinical wisdom has long provided suggested guidance around caring for people who use illicit drugs (referred to as PWUD) at the end of life, there is striking paucity of empirical evidence underpinning these practices. Understanding medications and doses required to manage symptoms at the end of life is essential to provide effective end-of-life care for these patients. This study aimed to examine the type and dose of medications prescribed to hospitalised patients who use illicit drugs at the end of life, compared with patients without previous or current illicit drug use.

    A retrospective medical record review was conducted on consecutive patient deaths between 2012 and 2017 at a metropolitan hospital. PWUD were identified using the International Classification of Diseases 10th Revision codes for illicit drug use. Daily dosage of opioids, benzodiazepines and antipsychotics was documented for the last 3 days of life and compared with a matched comparator group.

    PWUD patients (n=55) received higher doses of opioids, midazolam and antipsychotics than comparator patients (n=55) for each day, significant for opioids in the last 24 hours (p=0.01). PWUD patients received a significantly higher total opioid dose (median=480.0 mg vs 255.0 mg) and midazolam (median=15.0 mg vs 5.0 mg) (both p<0.05). Rates of dose escalation did not differ.

    Results suggest that PWUD require greater doses of symptom-controlling medications, particularly opioids and midazolam, at the end of life but that rates of dose escalation do not differ greatly. This study provides a foundation for future research to inform clinical guidelines for this cohort of palliative care patients.

    Transgender men and non-binary people assigned female at birth (TMNB) who have not had surgery to remove the cervix are recommended to undertake cervical screening with the same frequency as cisgender women, but evidence suggests that TMNB have lower odds of lifetime and up-to-date cervical screening uptake.

    To understand the attitudes towards and preferences for cervical screening among UK-based TMNB.

    Cross-sectional survey of TMNB at an NHS gender identity clinic (GIC) and an NHS sexual health service specialising in care of transgender people.

    Recruitment was via email invitations to patients of the GIC and sexual health service. Inclusion criteria were female sex assigned at birth; transgender man, masculine, or non-binary gender identity; aged ≥18 years; and UK resident. Quantitative results were analysed using descriptive statistics, and free-text comments were analysed thematically.

    In total there were 137 participants; 80% identified as transmasculine,18% as non-binary, and the remaining participants reported other noncisgender identities. Sixty-four participants (47%) were eligible for cervical screening and 37 (58%) of those had been screened. Only 34 (53%) of those eligible felt they had sufficient information about cervical screening. Just over half (
    = 71/134, 53%) stated they would like the option to self-swab for high-risk human papillomavirus. Only half (
    = 68/134, 51%) of participants were in favour of an automatic invitation for cervical screening. Thematic analysis identified a number of additional barriers to and facilitators of screening.

We found that BM-****derived exosomes significantly reduced the invasion, migration, and proliferation of PC cells, as well as tumor stemness. According to whole-transcriptome resequencing and clustering heat map analysis, we identified the key molecule circ_0030167 and miR-338-5p, its downstream target. We revealed that circ_0030167 mainly regulates miR-338-5p, enhances Wif1 expression, and inhibits the Wnt8/β-catenin pathway, thereby inhibiting the stemness of PC cells and tumor progression. Overall, BM-****exosomal circ_0030167 contributes to the progression and stemness of PC cells via the miR-338-5p/wif1/Wnt 8/β-catenin axis. However, following a period of clinical efficacy, JAKi resistance often occurs resulting in relapse. In this study, we modeled potential mechanisms of JAKi resistance in TYK2-rearranged ALL cells in vitro in order to recapitulate possible clinical scenarios and provide a rationale for alternative therapies. Cerdulatinib resistant B-cells, driven by the MYB-TYK2 fusion oncogene, were generated by long-term exposure to the drug. Sustained treatment of MYB-TYK2-rearranged ALL cells with cerdulatinib led to enhanced and persistent JAK/STAT signaling, co-occurring with JAK1 overexpression. Hyperactivation of JAK/STAT signaling and JAK1 overexpression was reversible as cerdulatinib withdrawal resulted in re-sensitization to the drug. By surveying bulk RNA sequencing and single-cell profiling data of skeletal muscle stem cells, we show that myogenic progenitors and muscle stem cells differentially express PDGF ligands and PDGF receptors during myogenesis. Quiescent adult muscle stem cells and myoblasts preferentially express PDGFRβ over PDGFRα. Remarkably, cell culture- and injury-induced muscle stem cell activation altered PDGF family gene expression. In myoblasts, PDGF-AB and PDGF-BB treatments activate two pro-chemotactic and pro-mitogenic downstream transducers, RAS-ERK1/2 and PI3K-AKT. PDGFRs inhibitor AG1296 inhibited ERK1/2 and AKT activation, myoblast migration, proliferation, and cell cycle progression induced by PDGF-AB and PDGF-BB. We also found that AG1296 causes myoblast G0/G1 cell cycle arrest. Remarkably, PDGF-AA did not promote a noticeable ERK1/2 or AKT activation, myoblast migration, or expansion. Also, myogenic differentiation reduced the expression of both PDGFRα and PDGFRβ, whereas forced PDGFRα expression impaired myogenesis.   • Our findings suggest that minimal hippocampal volume loss occurs after stabilization on antipsychotic treatment and that citalopram's potential benefit for negative symptoms is unlikely to result from protection against hippocampal volume loss or cortical thinning.This study aimed to provide novel information for some poorly known/rare tick species collected from wild goats (Capra aegagrus) in the mountains of Eastern Anatolia, Turkey and to expand upon the available genetic data. The collected ticks were morphologically identified as Haemaphysalis kopetdaghica (all active stages, n = 140), Dermacentor raskemensis (adults, n = 7), Ixodes gibbosus (adults, n = 15), Rhipicephalus kohlsi (female, n = 1), and R. bursa (nymphs, n = 2). A total of 32 engorged ticks (6 larvae, 6 nymphs, and 20 females) collected were allowed to molt to the next stage or for egg laying and larval hatching, respectively. In addition, one R. kohlsi female (previously confirmed by SEM microscopy) collected from a wild goat in the neighboring province of Erzurum was included in this study for further genetic comparison. The partial mitochondrial 16S rDNA and cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 (barcoding regions) genes of each tick species were sequenced. Further analyses focusing on PGA1 revealed that treatment with PGA1 in the presence of concanavalin A (con A) downregulated CD69, an activation marker, and IFN-γ expression in both CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. Sorted CD3+ T cells stimulated with con A were cultivated with PGA1, and IFN-γ and TNF-α concentrations decreased upon PGA1 treatment. Taken together, these results suggest that the treatment with PGA1in vitro inhibits T-cell activation, especially Th1 cytokine production, in cattle.

The collected ticks were morphologically identified as Haemaphysalis kopetdaghica (all active stages, n = 140), Dermacentor raskemensis (adults, n = 7), Ixodes gibbosus (adults, n = 15), Rhipicephalus kohlsi (female, n = 1), and R. bursa (nymphs, n = 2). A total of 32 engorged ticks (6 larvae, 6 nymphs, and 20 females) collected were allowed to molt to the next stage or for egg laying and larval hatching, respectively. In addition, one R. kohlsi female (previously confirmed by SEM microscopy) collected from a wild goat in the neighboring province of Erzurum was included in this study for further genetic comparison.   • (1) Background The etiology of orofacial cleft (OC) is not completely known but several genetic and environmental risk factors have been identified. Moreover, a knowledge gap still persists regarding neonatal characteristics. This study evaluated the effect of parental age and mothers' body mass index on the risk of having an OC child, in a matched year and sex group (cleft/healthy control). Additionally, birth data were analyzed between groups. (2) Methods 266 individuals born between 1995 to 2015 were evaluated 133 OC individuals (85 males/48 females) and 133 control (85 males/48 females). A logistic model was used for the independent variables. ANOVA or Kruskal-Wallis tests were used for comparison between the OC phenotypes. (3) Results Regarding statistically significant parental related factors, the probability of having a cleft child decreases for each maternal year increase (odds ratio = 0.903) and increases for each body mass index unit (kg/m2) increase (odds ratio = 1.14). On the child data birth, for each mass unit (kg) increase, the probability of having a cleft child decrease (odds ratio = 0.435). (4) Conclusions In this study, only maternal body mass index and maternal age found statistical differences in the risk of having a cleft child. In the children's initial data, the cleft group found a higher risk of having a lower birth weight but no relation was found regarding length and head circumference.
    To demonstrate the levels of parathyroid hormone secretion and genetic expressions of parathyroid hormone (PTH) and PTH1 receptor (PTH1R) genes in the dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) from different age groups before and after induction of osteogenic differentiation. In addition, we also wanted to check their correlation with the degree of osteogenic differentiation.

    Human primary DPSCs from three age groups (milk tooth (SHEDs), 7-12 years old; young DPSCs (yDPSCs), 20-40 years old; old DPSCs (oDPSCs), 60+ years old) were characterized for mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) markers. SEM revealed that the matrix was formed by interlayers of molten polymer entrapped between fibers in SRCs. Moreover, it is not clear from previous studies how the concept of servant leadership can explain the employee's engagement towards innovative work behavior (EIB). Thus, the current survey aims to test the relationship of CSR-E and EIB in the healthcare sector of Pakistan with the mediating effect of servant leadership. The data of the current study were obtained through a self-administered (paper-pencil) survey and they were analyzed through the structural equation modeling (SEM) technique. The empirical results of SEM analysis revealed that CSR-E and EIB are positively related and servant leadership partially mediates this relationship. The findings of the current study will be helpful for policymakers to improve their understanding towards CSR-E to induce EIB in the time of crisis. The lower DP inulin led to a cake batter with very similar viscoelastic properties to the standard sugar batter, and subsequently to a very similar baked cake crumb structure, cake texture and mouthfeel. The higher DP inulin led to a more viscous batter, and cake with a less homogenous crumb structure that was perceived to be dryer and more mouthcoating. The subsequent use of the lower DP inulin in a biscuit formulation resulted in a slightly less elastic dough and consequently a softer and less crunchy biscuit.

    Electroconvulsive therapy is an important somatic treatment for severe mental disorders with established efficacy and safety. However, data on the relationship between ECT and the readmission rate of patients with schizophrenia are scarce. This study will explore the association between the administration of ECT and readmission rates using a machine learning method.

    Inpatient medical records from the year of 2016 in one large psychiatric hospital in Beijing, China, were analyzed using a machine learning algorithm to determine the most important variables affecting readmission of patients with schizophrenia.

    The medical records of 2131 inpatients with schizophrenia were reviewed. 1099 patients were followed up within 3 months of their index admission (642 ECT cases and 457 non-ECT cases) and 1032 patients were followed up within 6 months (596 ECT cases and 436 non-ECT cases) after discharge. The 3- and 6-month readmission rates in the ECT group (11.37% and 17.94%, respectively) were significantly lower than that of the patients who did not receive ECT (18.79% and 29.36%, respectively, both p<0.001). The risk of readmission was significantly associated with male sex, older age, being married, having a lower income, a shorter inpatient length of stay, and receiving specific antipsychotic medications including olanzapine, paliperidone, clozapine, and haloperidol during the index admission. In the ECT group, patients who received 9 or more treatments were significantly less likely to be readmitted.

Inpatient medical records from the year of 2016 in one large psychiatric hospital in Beijing, China, were analyzed using a machine learning algorithm to determine the most important variables affecting readmission of patients with schizophrenia. The medical records of 2131 inpatients with schizophrenia were reviewed. 1099 patients were followed up within 3 months of their index admission (642 ECT cases and 457 non-ECT cases) and 1032 patients were followed up within 6 months (596 ECT cases and 436 non-ECT cases) after discharge. The 3- and 6-month readmission rates in the ECT group (11.37% and 17.94%, respectively) were significantly lower than that of the patients who did not receive ECT (18.79% and 29.36%, respectively, both p<0.001).     Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is the most common cardiovascular problem that develops in preterm infants and evidence regarding the best treatment approach is lacking. Currently available medical options to treat a PDA include indomethacin, ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Wide variation exists in PDA treatment practices across Canada. In view of this large practice variation across Canadian neonatal intensive care units (NICUs), we plan to conduct a comparative effectiveness study of the different pharmacotherapeutic agents used to treat the PDA in preterm infants.

    A multicentre prospective observational comparative-effectiveness research study of extremely preterm infants born <29 weeks gestational age with an echocardiography confirmed PDA will be conducted.     Best practice approaches for addressing COVID-19-related psychological distress among young people (<25 years) and their families remain unclear. Psychological first aid (PFA) is promoted by public health authorities to provide psychological support in the context of extreme events; however, there is limited evidence for its effectiveness. As a prerequisite to conducting a randomised controlled trial to examine programme effectiveness, this project is evaluating the acceptability and feasibility of implementing and evaluating a PFA training programme ('LIVES for Families') for mental health (MH) practitioners to improve their ability to recognise and respond to COVID-19-related psychological distress among their clients.

    We are using a triangulation mixed methods research design; complementary strands of quantitative and qualitative data are being collected in parallel and will be merged at the interpretation phase of the project. The quantitative strand uses a repeated measures design; a consecutive sg the MH impacts of viral pandemics.
    The Hamilton Integrated Research Ethics Board approved the study (project number 11295). Results will be shared broadly with the policy and practice community through publications, presentations and public webinars. As a brief, evidence-informed intervention, the LIVES for Families PFA training programme is suitable in its mode of delivery across care settings. The outcomes of this study could have international implications for mitigating the MH impacts of viral pandemics.
    Edinburgh and Lothians' Viral Intervention Study Kids is a parallel, open-label, randomised controlled trial of hypertonic saline (HS) nose drops (~2.6% sodium chloride) vs standard care in children <7 years of age with symptoms of an upper respiratory tract infection (URTI).

    Children are recruited prior to URTI or within 48 hours of developing URTI symptoms by advertising in areas such as local schools/nurseries, health centres/hospitals, recreational facilities, public events, workplaces, local/social media. Willing parents/guardians, of children <7 years of age will be asked to contact the research team at their local site. Children will be randomised to either a control arm (standard symptomatic care), or intervention arm (three drops/nostril of HS, at least four times a day, until 24 hours after asymptomatic or a maximum of 28 days). All participants are requested to provide a nasal swab at the start of the study (intervention arm before HS drops) and then daily for four more days. Parent/guardian complete a validated daily diary, an end of illness diary, a satisfaction questionnaire and a wheeze questionnaire (day 28). The parent/guardian of a child in the intervention arm is taught to prepare HS nose drops. Parent/guardian of children asymptomatic at recruitment are requested to inform the research team within 48 hours of their child developing an URTI and follow the instructions already provided. The day 28 questionnaire determines if the child experienced a wheeze following illness. Participation in the study ends on day 28.

    The study has been approved by the West of Scotland Research Ethics Service (18/WS/0080).     There is an increasing body of evidence to suggest that visibility of prostate cancer on magnetic resonance (MRI) may be related to likelihood of adverse pathological outcomes. Biochemical recurrence (BCR) after radical prostatectomy remains a significant clinical challenge and a means of predicting likelihood of this prior to surgery could inform treatment choice. It appears that MRI could be a potential candidate strategy for BCR prediction, and as such, there is a need to review extant literature on the prognostic capability of MRI. Here, we describe a protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis of the utility of biparametric MRI (bpMRI) and multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) in predicting BCR following radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer treatment.

    PubMed, MEDLINE, Embase and Cochrane databases will be searched and screening will be guided by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. In order to meet the inclusion criteria, papers must be English-language articles involving patients who have had bpMRI or mpMRI for suspected prostate cancer and have undergone radical prostatectomy as definitive therapy. Patients must have had prostate-specific antigen monitoring before and after surgery. All relevant papers published from July 1977 to October 2020 will be eligible for inclusion. The Newcastle-Ottawa score will be used to determine the quality and bias of the studies. This protocol is written in-line with the PRISMA protocol 2015 checklist.

    gene. Inappropriate hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)-mediated transcription of proangiogenic and metabolic genes leads to the development of tumors and cysts in multiple organs. Surgery is a standard treatment for localized tumors with a risk of metastasis or organ dysfunction. Repeated surgeries cause substantial morbidity and have a major impact on quality of life. There is an urgent need to develop effective and safe systemic treatments for VHL disease manifestations. The small-molecule HIF 2 alpha inhibitor MK-6482 (belzutifan) has demonstrated significant efficacy in VHL disease related renal cell carcinomas, hemangioblastomas, and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors while demonstrating an acceptable safety profile.

    This paper reviews the development of the HIF-2 alpha inhibitor, MK-6482, and discusses preliminary results of ongoing phase I/II studies in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and VHL disease. An examination of ongoing clinical development of MK-6482 and perspectives on potential future developments and challenges are offered.

    Because of its favorable safety profile, its clear efficacy in VHL disease, promising findings in sporadic, advanced RCC, and convenient oral formulation, MK-6482 is expected to become a leading treatment for VHL disease. The LBP assessment tool was developed to assess the construct "functioning and disability" as defined by the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). Involvement of patients and health professionals was essential.

    The elements were collapsed into five steps. In total, 18 patients and 12 health professionals contributed to the content and the design of the tool. The LBP assessment tool covered all ICF components shared among 63 ICF categories.

    This study presents the process used to develop the LBP assessment tool, which is the first tool to address all ICF components and integrate biopsychosocial perspectives provided by patients and homponents and integrate biopsychosocial perspectives provided by patients and health professionals in the same tool. Initial evaluation of content validity showed adequate reflection of the construct "functioning and disability". There is an urgent need to develop effective and safe systemic treatments for VHL disease manifestations. The small-molecule HIF 2 alpha inhibitor MK-6482 (belzutifan) has demonstrated significant efficacy in VHL disease related renal cell carcinomas, hemangioblastomas, and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors while demonstrating an acceptable safety profile. This paper reviews the development of the HIF-2 alpha inhibitor, MK-6482, and discusses preliminary results of ongoing phase I/II studies in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and VHL disease. In total, 18 patients and 12 health professionals contributed to the content and the design of the tool. The LBP assessment tool covered all ICF components shared among 63 ICF categories. This study presents the process used to develop the LBP assessment tool, which is the first tool to address all ICF components and integrate biopsychosocial perspectives provided by patients and homponents and integrate biopsychosocial perspectives provided by patients and health professionals in the same tool.   • Our results provide novel evidence that daytime sleepiness increases the risk of ALS and points out the importance of daytime sleepiness that often goes unnoticed in ALS.Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDACs) occasionally have atypical and uncommon imaging presentations that can present a diagnostic dilemma and result in false interpretation. This article aimed to illustrate these CT and MR imaging findings, including isoattenuating PDAC, coexisting acute pancreatitis, PDAC with a cystic feature, groove PDAC, diffuse PDAC, hypointensity on diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), multifocal PDAC, intratumoral calcification, and extrapancreatic invasion with a barely discernable mass. A subset of PDACs with atypical features are occasionally encountered during routine clinical practice. Knowledge of and attention to these atypical and uncommon variable imaging features may allow radiologists to avoid misinterpretation and a delayed diagnosis.Falls are a major health concern for older adults with Parkinson's disease (PD). This study was designed to examine differences in falls risk and its relation to changes in the average and variability (i.e. intra-individual variability) of reaction time (RT), finger tapping, standing balance and walking between healthy older adults and persons with PD. Thirty-nine adults with PD (70.0 ± 8.1 years) and 29 healthy older adults (66.8 ± 10.4 years) participated in this study. Falls risk (using the physiological profile assessment), gait, RT, balance and tapping responses were assessed for all persons. Results demonstrated that individuals with PD exhibited a greater risk of falling coupled with a general slowing of motor function covering declines in walking, RT and finger tapping. In addition, the movement responses of the PD group were more variable than the healthy older adults. Correlation results revealed group differences with regards to the neuromotor measures which were significantly correlated with falls risk. For the PD group, gait measures were highly correlated with their falls risk while, for the healthy older adults, falls risk was linked to balance measures even though PD persons had increased sway. Overall, persons with PD were at greater falls risk, moved slower and with increased variability compared to the healthy older adults. Further, while there are some similarities between the two groups in terms of those measures related to falls risk, there were also several differences which highlight that persons with PD can have different risk factors for falling compared to healthy adults of similar age.Wheat is the core food crop in bioregenerative life support systems (BLSSs). The species composition of wheat rhizosphere microorganisms was relatively stable in the seedling, tillering, and flowering stages in confined isolation environments. However, we observed marked microbial changes at mature stages. The results of functional prediction analysis suggest that the rhizosphere microbial community function of "Energy metabolism" gradually decreased, and the function of "Transmembrane transport" gradually increased during wheat development. The construction of the rhizosphere microbial community is non-random, scale-free and has the characteristics of a small world. We found the tillering stage to be more complex than the other stages. Our study reveals the composition characteristics, functional changes, and community structure fluctuations of rhizosphere bacteria at different development stages of wheat in the isolated and controlled environment, providing a theoretical basis for the efficient production of BLSS plant systems. The results show that (1) From 1990 to 2018, the changes in NLSP in Fengdu County generally manifested in the transformation of agricultural space into urban space and ecological space; (2) The spatiotemporal change of ESV is a process that positively responds to the increase in ecological space and negatively responds to the expansion of urban space. From 1990 to 2018, the total ESV of Fengdu County showed a trNonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is strongly linked to the global epidemic of obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Although significant progress has been achieved in the fields of image-to-image translation and depth map estimation, a gap between normal depth map estimation and underwater depth map estimation still remains. Additionally, it is a great challenge to build a mapping function that converts a single underwater image into an underwater depth map due to the lack of paired data. Moreover, the ever-changing underwater environment further intensifies the difficulty of finding an optimal mapping solution. To eliminate these bottlenecks, we developed a novel image-to-image framework for underwater image synthesis and depth map estimation in underwater conditions. For the problem of the lack of paired data, by translating hazy in-air images (with a depth map) into underwater images, we initially obtained a paired dataset of underwater images and corresponding depth maps. To enrich our synthesized underwater dataset, we further translated hazy in-air images into a series of continuously changing underwater images with a specified style.

The present review should help in understanding and the interpretation of these models in biomedical research.As one of the key requirements for underwater exploration, underwater depth map estimation is of great importance in underwater vision research. Although significant progress has been achieved in the fields of image-to-image translation and depth map estimation, a gap between normal depth map estimation and underwater depth map estimation still remains. Additionally, it is a great challenge to build a mapping function that converts a single underwater image into an underwater depth map due to the lack of paired data. Moreover, the ever-changing underwater environment further intensifies the difficulty of finding an optimal mapping solution. To eliminate these bottlenecks, we developed a novel image-to-image framework for underwater image synthesis and depth map estimation in underwater conditions. For the problem of the lack of paired data, by translating hazy in-air images (with a depth map) into underwater images, we initially obtained a paired dataset of underwater images and corresponding depth maps. To enrich our synthesized underwater dataset, we further translated hazy in-air images into a series of continuously changing underwater images with a specified style.

We propose that a powerful concept from deep learning, called ensembling, can increase the accuracy of protein contact predictions by combining the outputs of different neural network models. Further, we show that contacts derived from the distance predictions of three additional deep neural networks-AlphaFold, trRosetta, and ProSPr-can be substantially improved by ensembling all three networks. We also show that ensembling these recent deep neural networks with the best CASP13 group creates a superior contact prediction tool. Finally, we demonstrate that two ensembled networks can successfully differentiate between the folds of two highly homologous sequences. Docking simulation studies suggested that general odorant-binding protein 2 (GOBP2) could bind to butachlor with high binding affinity, and silencing SlGOBP2 by RNA interference (RNAi) decreased larval tolerance to chlorpyrifos. Butachlor exposure induced ecdysone biosynthesis, whose function on increasing chlorpyrifos tolerance was supported in synergism experiments and confirmed by silencing the key gene (SlCYP307A1) for ecdysone synthesis. Butachlor exposure also activated the expression of detoxification enzyme genes. Silencing the genes with the highest herbicide-induced expression among the three detoxification enzyme genes led to increased larval susceptibility to chlorpyrifos. Collectively, we proposed a new mechanism that olfactory recognition of herbicides by GOBP2 triggers insect hormone biosynthesis and leads to high metabolic tolerance against insecticides. Therefore, foliar application of DMSA reduced Cd, Pb, and As accumulation in rice grains by immobilizing HMs in flag leaves.
