Consequently, the DFRL-controlled robots can achieve efficient adaptive locomotion, to tackle complex terrains with diverse slopes.Existing language models (LMs) represent each word with only a single representation, which is unsuitable for processing words with multiple meanings. This issue has often been compounded by the lack of availability of large-scale data annotated with word meanings. In this paper, we propose a sense-aware framework that can process multi-sense word information without relying on annotated data. In contrast to the existing multi-sense representation models, which handle information in a restricted context, our framework provides context representations encoded without ignoring word order information or long-term dependency. The proposed framework consists of a context representation stage to encode the variable-size context, a sense-labeling stage that involves unsupervised clustering to infer a probable sense for a word in each context, and a multi-sense LM (MSLM) learning stage to learn the multi-sense representations. Particularly for the evaluation of MSLMs with different vocabulary sizes, we propose a new metric, i.e., unigram-normalized perplexity (PPLu), which is also understood as the negated mutual information between a word and its context information. Additionally, there is a theoretical verification of PPLu on the change of vocabulary size. Also, we adopt a method of estimating the number of senses, which does not require further hyperparameter search for an LM performance. For the LMs in our framework, both unidirectional and bidirectional architectures based on long short-term memory (LSTM) and Transformers are adopted. We conduct comprehensive experiments on three language modeling datasets to perform quantitative and qualitative comparisons of various LMs. Our MSLM outperforms single-sense LMs (SSLMs) with the same network architecture and parameters. It also shows better performance on several downstream natural language processing tasks in the General Language Understanding Evaluation (GLUE) and SuperGLUE benchmarks.Attributed graph clustering aims to discover node groups by utilizing both graph structure and node features. Recent studies mostly adopt graph neural networks to learn node embeddings, then apply traditional clustering methods to obtain clusters. However, they usually suffer from the following issues (1) they adopt original graph structure which is unfavorable for clustering due to its noise and sparsity problems; (2) they mainly utilize non-clustering driven losses that cannot well capture the global cluster structure, thus the learned embeddings are not sufficient for the downstream clustering task. In this paper, we propose a spectral embedding network for attributed graph clustering (SENet), which improves graph structure by leveraging the information of shared neighbors, and learns node embeddings with the help of a spectral clustering loss. By combining the original graph structure and shared neighbor based similarity, both the first-order and second-order proximities are encoded into the improved graph structure, thus alleviating the noise and sparsity issues. To make the spectral loss well adapt to attributed graphs, we integrate both structure and feature information into kernel matrix via a higher-order graph convolution. Trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapies (CBT) are recommended as first-line PTSD treatments but have generally been tested with exclusion criteria related to risk for trauma exposure. Therefore, there is limited knowledge on how to best treat individuals with PTSD under ongoing threat of reexposure. This paper systematically reviewed the effectiveness of CBTs for PTSD in individuals with ongoing threat of reexposure. Literature searches yielded 21 studies across samples at ongoing risk of war-related or community violence (n = 14), domestic violence (n = 5), and work-related traumatic events (n = 2). Medium to large effects were found from pre to posttreatment and compared with waitlist controls. There were mixed findings for domestic violence samples on long-term outcomes. Treatment adaptations focused on establishing relative safety and differentiating between realistic threat and generalized fear responses. Few studies examined whether ongoing threat influenced treatment outcomes or whether treatments were associated with adverse events. Thus, although the evidence is promising, conclusions cannot be firmly drawn about whether trauma-focused CBTs for PTSD are safe and effective for individuals under ongoing threat. Areas for further inquiry are outlined.

Malvidin-dinhexoside has, for the first time, been detected in wild. Moreover, by verifying the protection on PC12 cells against oxidative damage, it was showed that the phenolic extracts (500 µg/mL) can improve significantly the viability (9.26-24.78%) of hydrogen peroxide-induced PC12 cells, activities of superoxide dismutase (34.59-37.90 U/mg) and glutathione peroxidase (6.87-14.42 mU/mg) and decrease the content of malonic dialdehyde (13.27-24.62 nmol/mg). Correlation analysis suggested that anthocyanins might contribute most to these activities.
Atherosclerosis is the underlying pathogenesis of cardiovascular events caused by inflammation, and dietary intervention has been recommended as one fundamental prevention strategy. Herein, the anti-arteriosclerotic properties of quercetin are investigated by modulating galectin-3 (Gal-3)-NLR family, pyrin domain-containing 3 (NLRP3) pathway.

) for 16 weeks, and carotid plaques from patients with carotid stenosis are collected for histopathological examinations and molecular mechanism assays. Quercetin significantly alleviates atherosclerotic lesions and reduces lipid retention caused by HFD. Proteomic technology identified Gal--3 increased by HFD but lowered by quercetin. Furthermore, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry exhibit higher expressions of Gal-3 and NLRP3 in carotid plaques and plaques from HFD-fed ****, which are concurrently down-regulated by quercetin. Similar to TD139, quercetin dramatically suppresses NLRP3 inflammasome activation in oxidized low-density lipoprotein-laden macrophages, and accordingly alleviates cellular steatosis and IL-1β secretion, which is abolished by recombinant Gal-3. Co-immunoprecipitation shows Gal-3 binding to NLRP3 promotes inflammasome activation.

While there is a considerable amount of research focusing on university student stress levels, interventions to address them, and coping strategies adopted by students, little research has reported on the strategies students choose to manage their stress and how that relates to their self-identified sources of stress as well as to what universities are offering to support their mental health and wellbeing. The present study provides a contribution in this direction, reporting on a study that surveyed over 3200 students from three large Australian metropolitan universities and interviewed three groups of university staff who provide student wellbeing services. Results highlight differences between what students and staff perceive as main sources of stress and best strategies to address them. In addition, students recommend task-oriented, pro-active coping strategies more often to their peers than engage in them themselves. The findings of the study further reinforce the need to develop an understanding of student coping strategies with a lens considerate of students' perspectives and preferences to authentically support their wellbeing, better informing planning and service delivery.Panzerina lanata is a Chinese medicine with the bioactivity of detumescence and detoxification. In this study, novel qualitative and quantitative methods were established by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry and ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole linear ion trap mass spectrometry, respectively. As a result, 20 compounds were identified or tentatively characterized including flavonoids, organic acids, alkaloids, and lignans, five of which were identified for the first time based on the reference standards. The quantitative approach exhibited good linearity (R2 > 0.995), precision (RSDs less then 4.97%), stability (RSDs less then 4.77%), and recovery (96.04-104.14%). Afterward, this method was implemented to determine 11 flavonoids in four batches of P. lanata. Among them, seven compounds were quantified for the first time. Analysis was performed using a gradient with a total run time of 12 min. 13 C-oleoylethanolamide, d4 -oleoylethanolamide (internal standard), and 12 C-oleoylethanolamide (endogenous background) eluted simultaneously at 1.64 min. The method was validated for specificity, sensitivity, accuracy, and precision and found to be capable of quantification within acceptable limits of ±15% over the calibration range of 0.39-25 ng/mL for the plasma and 1.17-75 ng/g for the brain. It was then applied to quantify 13 C-oleoylethanolamide over 90 min after intravenous administration of a solution (1 mg/kg) in rats. Results suggest that 13 C-oleoylethanolamide does not reach therapeutic concentrations in the brain, despite a relatively prolonged plasma circulation, suggesting that rapid degradation in the brain remains an obstacle to its clinical application to neurological disease.

Analysis of various population genetics parameters and distribution of synonymous and nonsynonymous mutations revealed that purifying selection pressure was the major force acting upon the IJMV genome. The outcome of the study provides valuable insights on the evolution of IJMV genome, for which there are few genome sequences available, and informs the current breeding efforts towards resistance for IJMV.Wheat streak mosaic virus (WSMV), a member of the genus Tritimovirus in the family Potyviridae, has been designated as a plant quarantine pathogen in South Korea. Several diagnostic methods can be applied to diagnose viral infections in plants, but polymerase chain reaction and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, which can identify viral species with speed and accuracy, are mainly used in Korean plant quarantine. Many variants of different viral species with highly divergent genomic sequences are constantly being discovered by high-throughput sequencing technology. This means that previously established primers may no longer be suitable for diagnostic use. In this study, we developed a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction assay for detecting WSMV isolates/strains using all of the WSMV sequences available in NCBI GenBank. All 13 primer sets were able to produce amplicons of the expected sizes from WSMV-infected samples. However, it has not been reported that PVY infects zucchini (Cucurbita pepo L). Zucchini plants showing symptoms of leaf mosaic and fruit ringspot were collected from Inner Mongolia, China. Using RT-PCR, we amplified the PVY-specific bands in zucchini (PVY-Zu isolate). Further, we found that the viral pathogen could infect Nicotiana benthamiana via mechanical inoculation with the extract of the zucchini leaves. Filamentous virions were observed in infected N. benthamiana plants under a transmission electron microscope. Additionally, the complete genomic fragment of the PVY-Zu isolate was obtained via RT-PCR and RACE analysis, containing 9662 nucleotides (nt) excluding the 3'-terminal poly (A) tail. The 5' and 3' untranslated regions (UTRs) were 150 nt and 329 nt, respectively, while the putative polyprotein contained 3061 amino acids. Further, we found that the viral pathogen could infect Nicotiana benthamiana via mechanical inoculation with the extract of the zucchini leaves. Filamentous virions were observed in infected N. benthamiana plants under a transmission electron microscope. Additionally, the complete genomic fragment of the PVY-Zu isolate was obtained via RT-PCR and RACE analysis, containing 9662 nucleotides (nt) excluding the 3'-terminal poly (A) tail. Transvaginal ultrasound (TVU) cervical length (CL) screening is the most accurate PTB risk predictor but remains underutilized. This study characterizes the knowledge, attitudes and beliefs of patients with prior PTB concerning PTB prevention efforts and TVU CL screening.
Participants were recruited from community-based health centers in Appalachian Kentucky. Pre-eclampsia (PE) is a dangerous placental condition that can lead to premature labour, seizures and death of mother and infant. Several studies have identified altered placental DNA methylation in PE; however, there is widespread inconsistency between studies and most findings have not been replicated. This study aimed to identify and validate consistent differences in methylation across multiple PE cohorts.
Seven publicly available 450K methylation array datasets were analysed to identify consistent differentially methylated positions (DMPs) in PE. DMPs were identified based on methylation difference (≥10%) and significance (p-value≤1×10
). Targeted deep bisulfite sequencing was then performed to validate a subset of DMPs in an additional independent PE cohort.
Stringent analysis of the seven 450K datasets identified 25 DMPs (associated with 11 genes) in only one dataset. Using more relaxed criteria confirmed 19 of the stringent 25 DMPs in at least four of the remaining six datasets. Targeted deep bisulfite sequencing of eight DMPs (associated with three genes; CMIP, ST3GAL1 and DAPK3) in an independent PE cohort validated two DMPs in the CMIP gene. Seven additional CpG sites in CMIP were found to be significantly differentially methylated in PE.
The identification and validation of significant differential methylation in CMIP suggests that the altered DNA methylation of this gene may be associated with the pathogenesis of PE, and may have the potential to serve as diagnostic biomarkers for this dangerous condition of pregnancy.

Analyzing parents' and physicians' opinions regarding phone-based encounters in emergency shifts of a French pediatric epilepsy center compared to traditional face-to-face encounters during the first lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic METHODS Prospective monocentric study on remote encounters at Necker rare epilepsy reference center from March 20th, 2020 to April 23rd, 2020 due to lockdown measures. We had a total of 224 responses, among which 204 were completed by physicians (91%) and 173 (84,4%) by parents. Twenty five were first encounters (14,2%). Physicians pointed out the need for clinical examination (42.6%), mainly for first encounters (p=0.0004). Physicians rated the quality of communication lower (p=0.003) as their capacity to answer parents' questions (p=0.004). ). We identified six urgent (2.9%) and 50 semi-urgent (24%) situations requiring programming face-to-face encounter during or shortly after the lockdown.

CACNA1H is regarded as a gene conferring susceptibility to generalised epilepsy. However, the prognosis of epilepsy patients carrying the CACNA1H missense variants of uncertain significance (VUS) is unknown. A prospective cohort was generated to determine the deleterious effects of these variants and to check whether the presence of these variants affects the prognosis of epilepsy patients.
This study was conducted at Xijing Hospital in Xian, China. All patients were followed up for at least 1 year. Previous reports were searched for previously reported variants. Ensembl database was searched for variants in the general population. Combined Annotation Dependent Depletion (CADD) was used to evaluate the deleterious effect of variants. Logistic regression and Cox regression were used for data analysis.
The study included 176 epilepsy patients with or without CACNA1H variants. In epilepsy patients with missense variants, we found 35 different variants, including 33 variants with uncertain significance and 2 likely benign variants.

Aortic root dilation (ARD) has been reported in patients with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (22q11.2DS) with and without congenital heart defects (CHDs). However, the long-term implications of isolated ARD in 22q11.2DS remain undefined. In this study, we measured aortic root size and estimated the probability of changing between normal aortic root size and ARD during follow up to understand the prevalence, longitudinal course, and clinical risk factors for ARD in patients with 22q11.2DS without intracardiac CHDs. Aortic root size was measured in 251 patients with 432 studies. Forty-one patients (16.3%) had ARD on at least one echocardiogram and the cohort sinus Z-score was increased on the last echocardiogram [mean (1.09, SD 1.24) and median (1.20, min - 1.90 and max 5.40)]. Transition probability analysis showed that 8.1% of patients developed ARD and 45.4% of patients with ARD reverted to normal at the next echocardiogram. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/auranofin.html The risk of ARD over time was significantly associated with male sex (OR 3.06, 95% CI 1.41-6.65; p = 0.004), but not with age or presence of an aortic arch anomaly. Attitudes to surgery for paediatric thalamic tumours have evolved due to improved preoperative imaging modalities and the advent of intraoperative MRI (iMRI) as well as enhanced understanding of tumour biology. We review the developments in our local practice over the last three decades with particular attention to the impact of iMRI.
We identified all paediatric patients from a prospectively maintained neuro-oncology database who received surgery for a thalamic tumour (n = 30). All children were treated in a single UK tertiary paediatric neurosurgery centre between January 1991 and June 2020. Twenty patients underwent surgical resection, the remainder (10) undergoing biopsy only. Pre-operative surgical intent (biopsy versus debulking, near-total resection, or complete resection) as well as the use of iMRI were prospectively recorded. Complications recorded in clinical documentation between postoperative days 0 and 30 were retrospectively graded using a modified version of the Clavien Dindo scale. Isolated dissecting aneurysms of PICA are extremely rare. A 5-month-old female child presented with history of fall from a height of around 2 ft., followed by incessant crying and multiple episodes of vomiting. The anterior fontanelle was lax. Plain CT scan brain showed IVH in the fourth ventricle with no hydrocephalus. Twenty-four hours after admission, the child had one episode of vomiting and became unresponsive. The child was intubated, and a repeat CT scan brain showed thick acute SDH in the posterior fossa with hydrocephalus. Emergency suboccipital craniectomy and evacuation of thick acute subdural hematoma were done. Organized clot noted in the midline between the tonsils was not removed. Digital subtraction angiography (DSA) done 48 h after surgery showed ruptured dissecting aneurysm of left PICA. Endovascular temporary parent artery occlusion by coil deployment was performed, after which a check angiogram revealed complete exclusion of aneurysm from circulation. Endovascular proximal parent artery occlusion is the preferred treatment modality for dissecting aneurysms of PICA. Selective coil or Onyx embolization of the aneurysm with parent vessel preservation technique is a valid and increasingly used alternative. In this case, a novel technique of endovascular temporary parent artery occlusion by coil deployment was performed successfully. This technique may be recommended in select cases.
Cerebellar mutism syndrome (CMS) represents a major complication affecting many children that undergo surgery for posterior fossa lesions. Etiology and pathophysiology are still not fully understood. CMS deeply influences quality of life and recovery of these patients. An effective treatment has not been defined yet. This case-based review aims at analyzing the available evidence and knowledge to better delineate this phenomenon and to determine whether CMS can be successfully treated with pharmacological therapy.
Systematic research and retrieval of databases were conducted analyzing all papers where medical treatment of CMS was reported. A summary of the latest understanding and reports regarding definition, clinical manifestations, pathophysiology, management, and outcome of CMS has been conducted.

Forty-one patients (16.3%) had ARD on at least one echocardiogram and the cohort sinus Z-score was increased on the last echocardiogram [mean (1.09, SD 1.24) and median (1.20, min - 1.90 and max 5.40)]. Emergency suboccipital craniectomy and evacuation of thick acute subdural hematoma were done. Organized clot noted in the midline between the tonsils was not removed. Interspecific comparisons of mean integration coefficient of variation were conducted using Mann-Whitney U tests with Bonferroni adjustment. The results showed that hominoids generally had lower mean integration coefficient of variation than cercopithecoids. In addition, humans showed lower mean integration coefficient of variation than other hominoids in their last thoracic and lumbar vertebrae. Cercopithecoids and Hylobates showed relatively lower mean integration coefficient of variation in cervical vertebrae than in thoracolumbar vertebrae. Pan and Homo showed relatively lower mean integration coefficient of variation in the last thoracic and lumbar vertebrae in the thoracolumbar region, except for the L1 of Pan. The results suggest fewer integration-mediated constraints on the evolution of vertebral morphology in hominoids when compared with cercopithecoids. Childhood abuse (CA) has been considered as an environmental risk factor for the development of social anxiety symptoms. Respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) is a biomarker that has been found to interact with environmental stressors to affect psychopathological symptoms. However, little is known whether RSA moderates the relationship between CA and social anxiety symptoms.
The current study aimed to examine the relationships between CA and two forms of social anxiety symptoms including social performance anxiety symptoms (SPAS) and social interaction anxiety symptoms (SIAS), and the moderating role of baseline RSA and/or RSA suppression to a social-evaluative stress in these links.

Inhibition of SOCS3 ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation led to protein accumulation and a stronger inhibition of IL-6 signaling and barrier function loss. Together, our data demonstrate that the regulation of SOCS3 protein levels is critical to inhibit IL-6-mediated endotheliopathy during shock and provide a promising therapeutic avenue to prevent multiorgan dysfunction through stabilization of endothelial SOCS3.Mutations in the gene SFTPC, encoding surfactant protein C (SP-C), are associated with interstitial lung disease in children and adults. To assess the natural history of disease, we knocked in a familial, disease-associated SFTPC mutation, L188Q (L184Q [LQ] in ****), into the mouse Sftpc locus. Translation of the mutant proprotein, proSP-CLQ, exceeded that of proSP-CWT in neonatal alveolar type 2 epithelial cells (AT2 cells) and was associated with transient activation of oxidative stress and apoptosis, leading to impaired expansion of AT2 cells during postnatal alveolarization. Differentiation of AT2 to AT1 cells was also inhibited in ex vivo organoid culture of AT2 cells isolated from LQ ****; importantly, treatment with antioxidant promoted alveolar differentiation. Upon completion of alveolarization, SftpcLQ expression was downregulated, leading to resolution of chronic stress responses; however, the failure to restore AT2 cell numbers resulted in a permanent loss of AT2 cells that was linked to decreased regenerative capacity in the adult lung. Our data demonstrate that mTOR complex 1 (mTORC1) is a mechanosensor in lung epithelial cells and that activation of this pathway during MV impairs lung function. We found that mTORC1 is activated in lung epithelial cells following volutrauma and atelectrauma in **** and humanized in vitro models of the lung microenvironment. mTORC1 is also activated in lung tissue of mechanically ventilated patients with ARDS. Deletion of Tsc2, a negative regulator of mTORC1, in epithelial cells impairs lung compliance during MV. Conversely, treatment with rapamycin at the time MV is initiated improves lung compliance without altering lung inflammation or barrier permeability. mTORC1 inhibition mitigates physiologic lung injury by preventing surfactant dysfunction during MV. Our data demonstrate that, in contrast to canonical mTORC1 activation under favorable growth conditions, activation of mTORC1 during MV exacerbates lung injury and inhibition of this pathway may be a novel therapeutic target to mitigate ventilator-induced lung injury during ARDS.Deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) is the single most common enzymopathy, present in approximately 400 million humans (approximately 5%). Its prevalence is hypothesized to be due to conferring resistance to malaria. However, G6PD deficiency also results in hemolytic sequelae from oxidant stress. Moreover, G6PD deficiency is associated with kidney disease, diabetes, pulmonary hypertension, immunological defects, and neurodegenerative diseases. To date, the only available mouse models have decreased levels of WT stable G6PD caused by promoter mutations. However, human G6PD mutations are missense mutations that result in decreased enzymatic stability. As such, this results in very low activity in red blood cells (RBCs) that cannot synthesize new protein. To generate a more accurate model, the human sequence for a severe form of G6PD deficiency, Med(-), was knocked into the murine G6PD locus. As predicted, G6PD levels were extremely low in RBCs, and deficient **** had increased hemolytic sequelae to oxidant stress. Nonerythroid organs had metabolic changes consistent with mild G6PD deficiency, consistent with what has been observed in humans. Juxtaposition of G6PD-deficient and WT **** revealed altered lipid metabolism in multiple organ systems. Here, we show a cell-autonomous dependency of autophagy for cell growth in colorectal cancer. Loss of epithelial autophagy inhibits tumor growth in both sporadic and colitis-associated cancer models. Genetic and pharmacological inhibition of autophagy inhibits cell growth in colon cancer-derived cell lines and patient-derived enteroid models. Importantly, normal colon epithelium and patient-derived normal enteroid growth were not decreased following autophagy inhibition. To couple the role of autophagy to cellular metabolism, a cell culture screen in conjunction with metabolomic analysis was performed. We identified a critical role of autophagy to maintain mitochondrial metabolites for growth.

Our data demonstrate that mTOR complex 1 (mTORC1) is a mechanosensor in lung epithelial cells and that activation of this pathway during MV impairs lung function. The purpose of this study was to explore the lived experience of body alteration and body image with regard to immediate breast reconstruction among women with breast cancer.
Data were collected from July to December 2020 through individual in-depth interviews with 15 women who had undergone immediate breast reconstruction due to breast cancer. Verbatim transcripts were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological analysis.
The following four theme clusters emerged. First, "revalued meaning of breasts due to cancer" illustrated the fact that cancer removal surgery brought the participants to reconsider the meaning of their breasts. Second, "had no choice but breast reconstruction" demonstrated the participants' decision-making process of not wanting to lose breasts. Third, "unsatisfied breasts despite reconstruction" portrayed the distress due to the unexpected surgical outcomes. Finally, "restarted everyday routines with the altered body" described the healing process of the participants by accepting thest reconstruction helped them return to daily life as the psychological trauma of breast cancer was healed. The participants rebuilt their body image by accepting their scarred new body. This may allow health professionals to provide constructive and culturally appropriate counseling in advance by providing insight into women's perception of their body image with regard to breast reconstruction.

A cross-sectional survey was conducted in a community setting. Four hundreds participants were recruited at five pediatric clinics and three community health centers located in Paju-si and Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, between January and May 2019. Based on the breastfeeding decision-making model, driven by Martens and Young's work, the survey items consisted of demographics, childbirth and breastfeeding characteristics, and breastfeeding information resources. In the analysis, 389 responses were used in the t-test, ANOVA, and logistic regression. Information resource networks were compared before and after childbirth including a subgroup analysis depending on the breastfeeding duration.
The modifiable factors affecting breastfeeding planning and duration were antenatal and postpartum breastfeeding education and the provision of information in the hospital.

Materials and methods All healthcare workers with PPE-related skin damages were registered at time 0. Age, sex, profession, type of skin damage, diseases and possible drugs were registered. Results Two strategies were emplyed the first strategy was to immediately treat the skin and the second one was to prevent pressure wounds formation both in already affected healthcare workers and the recurrence in healed staff. Three weeks after the two strategies were used, the incidence rate PPE-related skin damage was reduced in a statistically significant way. Conclusions Proper management helps in reducing the incidence of pressure ulcers related to personal protective devices in CoVid-19 Units. Knowledge of characteristic molecular alterations in certain cancer entities, such as SCC, can help identify tumor-specific substances for targeted therapies. Most frequently, altered genes in SCC include TP53, NOTCH, EGFR, and CCND1. Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) positive status non-disclosure to a sexual partner is a public health problem where a high prevalence of HIV infection is reported in a region with poor partner disclosure status. This study aimed to assess HIV-positive status disclosure to sexual partners and associated factors among adult HIV clients at Debre Markos town, Amhara Regional State Ethiopia, in 2019.
A facility-based cross-sectional study was conducted among 406 adult HIV-positive clients in Debre Markos town from September 1 to 30, 2019. Epidata version 3.1 for data entry and SPSS version 25 for data analysis were used. Bivariable and multivariable logistic analyses at (p<0.05) were performed.
From 421 study participants, 406 were participated giving response rate of 96.4%. The proportion of HIV status disclosure to sexual partner was 92.6%. Male sex (AOR = 2.863, 95%, CI = 1.147-7.146), urban residence (AOR = 2.438, 95% CI = 1.032-5.759), knowing sexual partner's HIV status (AOR = 2.749, 95% CI = 1.0s.

Unlike spontaneous reporting pharmacovigilance, this tool allows an appraisal of adverse drug reactions (ADRs)' real incidence, a higher capacity to identify safety signals, the relationship with concomitant drugs and pathologies prevalent in the study population. This study aimed to evaluate the safety profile and identify and/or assess adverse reactions in an uncontrolled population.
Active pharmacovigilance by Drug Event Monitoring was performed. A total of 3 follow-up calls were made for 30 days for the identification of the ADRs, tolerability (ADR severity, seriousness, long term sequelae, and duration) and the possible risks h a low incidence of ADRs. To evaluate the effect of amalgam contamination, different surface treatments, and adhesive protocols on dentin shear bond strength (SBS) to bulk-fill composite resin material.
Eighty teeth were fixed in molds, and the dentin was exposed and then polished. Sixty teeth were restored by amalgam and thermocycled to 10,000 cycles (5°C and 55°C, 30-second dwell time). The rest were restored with composite materials without amalgam predecessor. The samples were divided into G1 (with dentin pretreatment with 2% chlorhexidine gluconate), G2 (0.5 mm of dentin was removed), G3 (no surface modification), and G4 (samples were restored with bulk-fill composite). The bonded specimens were subdivided based on the adhesive protocol of the universal adhesive system used into etch-and-rinse and self-etch groups. Acid etching was done using 32% phosphoric acid. Composite resin was used for build-up using mold and glass. Specimens were cured and left for 24 h in distilled water at room temperature for polymerization reactionor non-contaminated dentin. Chlorhexidine improved SBS for amalgam-contaminated dentin as a surface treatment but had no significant effect.

This case report discusses the management of a young, Egyptian swimmer complaining of tooth sensitivity associated with erosive tooth wear. Anterior teeth were restored using the injection molding technique, also known as the injectable composite resin technique, to overcome the patient's complaint and enhance the aesthetics of compromised anterior teeth.
Thorough patient assessment was followed by impression taking, a diagnostic wax-up and intraoral ****-up fabrication for aesthetic, functional and biological verification. Upon the patient's agreement on the proposed treatment, an injection molding technique was carried out.
The tooth loss pattern associated with erosive tooth wear in competitive swimmers showed a very characteristic presentation. Detailed patient history is imperative for successful assessment of the risk factors contributing to the condition and treatment planning in such cases. The use of injection molding technique for restoration of anterior teeth is a simple, straightforward and aesthetically pleasing alternative for patients with erosive tooth wear requiring direct composite veneers.

Aim of the study was to gain robust representative prevalence data on vitiligo and on associated dermatologic comorbidity in the German adult population.
A dual population-based approach was applied with 1) primary data obtained between 2004 and 2014 from dermatological exams in the general working population; 2) claims data from a large German statutory health insurance, reference year 2010.
In the working cohort (N = 121,783; 57% male; mean age 43 years), the prevalence of vitiligo was 0.77% (0.84% in men; 0.67% in women). In the claims data (N = 1,619,678; 38% male; mean age 46 years), prevalence was 0.17% (0.14% in men; 0.18% in women). In the working cohort, vitiligo was significantly more common in people with fair skin type, ephelides and port-wine stains and less common in people with acne and solar lentigines. In the claims data, vitiligo was associated with a variety of skin conditions, eg, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis and alopecia areata.

Here, we report the growth of Cu2Se thin films with a thickness of around 100 nm by magnetron sputtering. XRD and TEM analysis shows that the film is low-temperature α-Cu2Se, XPS analysis shows that about 10% of the film's surface is oxidized, and the ratio of copper to selenium is 2.261. In the range of 300-400 K, the maximum conductivity of the film is 4.55 × 105 S m-1, which is the maximum value reached by the current Cu2Se film. The corresponding Seebeck coefficient is between 15 and 30 µV K-1, and the maximum ZT value is 0.073. This work systematically studies the characterization of thin films and the measurement of thermoelectric properties and lays the foundation for further research on nano-thin-film thermoelectrics.Depression among family caregivers is becoming an increasingly important issue due to a growing elderly population. This study aimed to examine the association of living with a patient with dementia and family caregivers' depressive symptoms, among Korean adults. This study used the data of 371,287 participants after excluding those who indicated having dementia themselves from the Korea Community Health Survey of 2018-2019. Depressive symptoms were measured using the Patient Health Questionnaire-9. Data were analyzed using multiple logistic regression. The rates of spouse caregivers having depressive symptoms were 9.4% and 10.8% among men and women, respectively. The odds ratio for risk of depressive symptoms among male and female spouse caregivers in comparison to non-caregivers was 2.65 and 2.28, respectively. In the subgroup analysis, the highest income group was associated with risk of depressive symptoms, with an odds ratio of 4.28 for men, and 3.02 for women. Having a patient with dementia in the family was significantly associated with family caregivers' depressive symptoms. In particular, when the patient with dementia was a spouse, both women and men were likely to have depressive symptoms. To reduce the burden of caregivers, we need management policies and interventions for family caregivers.Using light emitting diodes (LED) instead of conventionally used high pressure sodium (HPS) lamps as a supplemental light source in greenhouses results in a higher efficacy (µmol light per J electricity) and makes it possible to customize the light spectrum. To explore the effects of LED and HPS on gas exchange, thermal relations, photosynthesis, and water status of young tomato plants, seven genotypes were grown in a greenhouse under LED (95% red, 5% blue) or HPS lamps in four experiments differing in the fraction of lamp light over natural light. HPS lights emit a broader spectrum of red (40%), green-yellow (50%), blue (5%), and far-red (5%) and a substantial amount of infrared radiation (heat). Young tomato plants grown under LED showed lower leaf temperature and higher stomatal density, stomatal conductance (gs) and transpiration rate (E) than plants grown under HPS; this may be due to the different supplemental light spectrum. The young plants grown under LED tended to have increased photosynthetic capacity.
