Diastolic dysfunction is a common finding in patients receiving cancer therapy. This study evaluated the correlation of diastolic strain slope (Dss) with routine echocardiography diastolic parameters and its role in early detection of systolic dysfunction and cardiovascular (CV) mortality within this population.
Data were collected from the Israel Cardio-Oncology Registry (ICOR), a prospective registry enrolling adult patient receiving cancer therapy. All patients performed at least three echocardiography exams (T1, T2, T3), including left ventricle Global Longitudinal Strain (LV GLS) and Dss. Systolic dysfunction was determined by either LV GLS relative reduction of ≥ 15% or LV ejection fraction reduction > 10% to < 53%. Dss was assessed as the early lengthening rate, measured by the diastolic slope (delta%/sec).
Among 144 patients, 114(79.2%) were female with a mean age of57.31 ± 14.3years. Dss was significantly correlated with e' average. Mid segment Dss change between T1 and T2 showed significdictive value for systolic dysfunction development in univariate and multivariate analyses.
Varenicline, a partial nicotinic agonist, is theorized to attenuate pre-quit smoking reinforcement and post-quit withdrawal and craving. However, the mechanisms of action have not been fully characterized, as most studies employ only retrospective self-report measures, hypothetical indices of reinforcing value, and/or nontreatment-seeking samples.
The current research examined the impact of pre-quit varenicline (vs. placebo) on laboratory measures of smoking and food (vs. water) reinforcement and craving.
Participants were 162 treatment-seeking smokers enrolled in a randomized controlled trial of smoking cessation ( clinicaltrials.gov ID NCT03262662). Participants completed two laboratory sessions a pre-treatment session, ~ 1 week prior to beginning varenicline or placebo, and an active treatment session, after ~ 3 weeks of treatment. At each session, participants completed a laboratory choice procedure; on each of 36 trials, a lit cigarette, food item, or cup of water was randomly presented. Participants reported level of craving and spent $0.01-0.25 to have a corresponding 5-95% chance to sample the cue.
As predicted, spending was significantly higher on cigarette trials than water trials, and varenicline resulted in a greater between-session decline in spending on cigarette trials (but not water) than did placebo. Cigarette craving was enhanced in the presence of smoking cues compared to water, but neither average (tonic) cigarette craving nor cue-specific cigarette craving was significantly influenced by varenicline. Food spending and craving were generally unaffected by varenicline treatment.

Here, we analyzed the upper 30 cm of soil from land with more than 30 years of paddy use and from adjacent areas with upland crops. Our results showed that land use and soil depth had a significant effect on soil properties and enzyme activities. Soil moisture (SM) and soil organic carbon (SOC) contents were substantially higher in paddy fields than in upland crop lands, while nitrogen-related enzyme activities were lower. Overall, land use change affects the physical and chemical properties of the soil, resulting in changes in the composition of the soil bacterial community and flora. The aim is to evaluate whether smart worklist prioritization by artificial intelligence (AI) can optimize the radiology workflow and reduce report turnaround times (RTATs) for critical findings in chest radiographs (CXRs). Furthermore, we investigate a method to counteract the effect of false negative predictions by AI-resulting in an extremely and dangerously long RTAT, as CXRs are sorted to the end of the worklist.
We developed a simulation framework that models the current workflow at a university hospital by incorporating hospital-specific CXR generation rates and reporting rates and pathology distribution. Using this, we simulated the standard worklist processing "first-in, first-out" (FIFO) and compared it with a worklist prioritization based on urgency. Minimally invasive pancreatoduodenectomy can be adopted safely with good outcomes irrespective of annual center resection volume.In the present study, we assessed the extent of microplastic pollution in the road dust of Chennai, the fifth largest metropolitan city in India. This study is the first of its kind to be reported from India. Sixteen different locations were selected from which road dust samples were collected. The average microplastic abundance was estimated to be 227.94 ± 91.37 per hundred grams of street dust sample. Nile Red dye was used for microplastic identification and quantification. 92.46% of the quantified microplastics were fragments. Raman spectroscopy of a representative sample identified nine types of polymers viz. polyvinyl chloride, poly(ethylene-co-vinyl-acetate), HDPE, poly(tetrafluoroethylene), cellulose microcrystalline, lyocell, superflex-200, wax-1032, and AC-395. SEM-EDS analysis highlighted the presence of various trace elements pertaining to automobile exhausts. Assessment of microplastic pollution rampant in street dust, especially in coastal cities as Chennai, is a dire need as it pertains to the concerns of human health and escape into the marine environment.The study presented the successful microwave-assisted (MW-assisted) preparation of a novel adsorbent derived from rice straw (RSMW-AC) and explored its adsorption performance toward heavy metal ions from water. The RSMW-AC was rapidly synthesized through pretreatment and one step grafting via the MW-assisted approach. The quantitative predictive correlations between target performance of RSMW-AC and process parameters were obtained through the response surface methodology (RSM). Meanwhile, the optimal preparation process conditions were determined NaOH solution concentration, 20%; MW irradiation temperature for pretreatment, 100 and 150 °C; MW irradiation time for pretreatment and grafting, 10 and 60 min; EDTAD-RS mass ratio, 3. Herein, we analyzed DAAN consumption in biotic and abiotic microcosms when exposed to different redox conditions (without added electron acceptor, without added electron acceptor but with pyruvate as a co-substrate, with sulfate, with nitrate, and with oxygen), using an anaerobic sludge as inoculum. We observed that DAAN autoxidation, an abiotic reaction, was significant in microaerobic environments. DAAN also reacted abiotically with heat-killed sludge up to a saturation limit of 67.4 μmol DAAN (g VSS heat-killed sludge)-1. Oxygen caused the fastest removal of DAAN in live sludge among the conditions tested. Treatments without added electron acceptors (with or without pyruvate) presented similar DAAN removal performances, although slower than the treatment with oxygen. Sulfate did not exhibit any effect on DAAN removal compared to the treatment without added electron acceptors. Nitrate, however, inhibited the process. An enrichment culture from the microcosms exposed to oxygen could be developed using DAAN as the sole substrate in microaerobic conditions. The enrichment profoundly changed the microbial community. Unclassified microorganisms accounted for 85% of the relative abundance in the enrichment culture, suggesting that DAAN microaerobic removal might have involved organisms that were not yet described. Fifty-two glaucoma patients with a restricted visual field were recruited for this study. Central 30° visual field measurements were performed using a Humphrey visual field analyzer before and after applying the reversed Galilean telescope. To be more cosmetically acceptable, a combination of contact lens-spectacle was used as the reversed Galilean telescope.

To reveal the phenotypic differences between human ocular surface stromal cells (hOSSCs) cultured from the corneal, limbal, and scleral compartments.
A comparative analysis of cultured hOSSCs derived from four unrelated donors was conducted by multichromatic flow cytometry for six distinct CD antigens, including the CD73, CD90, CD105, CD166, CD146, and CD34.
The hOSSCs, as well as the reference cells, displayed phenotypical profiles that were similar in high expression of the hallmark mesenchymal stem cell markers CD73, CD90, and CD105, and also the cancer stem cell marker CD166. Notably, there was considerable variation regarding the expression of CD34, where the highest levels were found in the corneal and scleral compartments. The multi-differentiation potential marker CD146 was also expressed highly variably, ranging from 9% to 89%, but the limbal stromal and endometrial mesenchymal stem cells significantly surpassed their counterparts within the ocular and reference groups, respectively. The use of six markers enabled investigation of 64 possible variants, however, just four variants accounted for almost 90% of all hOSSCs, with the co-expression of CD73, CD90, CD105, and CD166 and a combination of CD146 and CD34. The limbal compartment appeared unique in that it displayed greatest immunophenotype diversity and harbored the highest proportion of the CD146+CD34- pericyte-like forms, but, interestingly, the pericyte-like cells were also found in the avascular cornea.

Targeted enrichment methods facilitate sequencing of hundreds of nuclear loci to enhance phylogenetic resolution and elucidate why some parts of the "tree of life" are difficult (if not impossible) to resolve. The mimosoid legumes are a prominent pantropical clade of ~3300 species of woody angiosperms for which previous phylogenies have shown extensive lack of resolution, especially among the species-rich and taxonomically challenging ingoids.
We generated transcriptomes to select low-copy nuclear genes, enrich these via hybrid capture for representative species of most mimosoid genera, and analyze the resulting data using de novo assembly and various phylogenomic tools for species tree inference. We also evaluate gene tree support and conflict for key internodes and use phylogenetic network analysis to investigate phylogenetic signal across the ingoids.

Genetic inactivation of the rate-limiting enzyme glutaminase 1 (GLS1) results in decreased postnatal bone mass, caused by impaired biosynthesis and cell survival. Mechanistically, we uncovered that GLS1-mediated glutamine catabolism supports nucleotide and amino acid synthesis, required for proliferation and matrix production. In addition, glutamine-derived glutathione prevents accumulation of reactive oxygen species and thereby safeguards cell viability. The pro-anabolic role of glutamine metabolism was further underscored in a model of parathyroid hormone (PTH)-induced bone formation. PTH administration increases glutamine uptake and catabolism, and GLS1 deletion fully blunts the PTH-induced osteoanabolic response. Data were obtained from the prospective, longitudinal, population-based Children of Western Sweden cohort, which focused on children born in 2003. The parents answered questionnaires at sixmonths and one, four, eightand 12years of age. Personal identity numbers linked 3634 children to the Swedish Prescribed Drug Register (SPDR) and the National Patient Register (NPR).
At 12years of age, there was substantial overall agreement between the asthma medication reported by the parents in the questionnaire and the SPDR for any asthma medication (94.8%, kappa 0.71) and maintenance treatment (95.3%, kappa 0.68). In contrast, the agreement between the outpatient asthma diagnoses in the NPR and the questionnaire-based asthma was 30.5% and it was 32.8% between the NPR and the dispensed asthma medication in the SPDR. Hospitalization was rare for obstructive diseases after early childhood, and 38.2% of the 12-year-old children only received a short-acting beta agonist, with no maintenance treatment.

The present study was a population-based retrospective case series including all female offenders with mental disorders found not guilty by reason of insanity by the criminal courts in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and involuntarily committed to a forensic psychiatric facility (n = 27). Patients were assessed with Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Axis I Disorders and the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale. We found that most offenders were Afro-Brazilian, uneducated unmarried women. Schizophrenia with active psychotic symptoms was the most common clinical condition. Relatives were the frequent victims of aggressive behavior. Most patients had already been diagnosed with a mental disorder and placed under psychiatric treatment, but poor adherence and treatment dropout were common.

Background The contents of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) are significantly increased during the progression of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The study investigated the role of the LPS/TLR4 signaling pathway in improving gypenosides (Gyp) on NAFLD. Methods NAFLD model were established in rats and treated by Gyp. Pathological changes of liver tissues were observed by Hematoxylin and Eosin (HE) staining. Lipid metabolism and insulin resistance were measured. Expressions of inflammatory factors and protein of LPS/TLR4 downstream pathway were detected by qRT-PCR and Western blotting. Background The contents of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) are significantly increased during the progression of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The study investigated the role of the LPS/TLR4 signaling pathway in improving gypenosides (Gyp) on NAFLD. Methods NAFLD model were established in rats and treated by Gyp. Pathological changes of liver tissues were observed by Hematoxylin and Eosin (HE) staining. Lipid metabolism and insulin resistance were measured. Expressions of inflammatory factors and protein of LPS/TLR4 downstream pathway were detected by qRT-PCR and Western blotting. THLE-2 cells were treated by free-fatty acid (FFA), Gyp, and LPS, and then transfected with TLR4. Next, cell viability was detected by MTT. Inguinal herniotomy is one of the commonest paediatric surgical procedures at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital. Incisional infiltration with plain bupivacaine has been used to provide postoperative analgesia for this procedure but with a short duration of action, 4-6 hours.
The aim of this study therefore was to evaluate the efficacy of subcutaneous ketamine on post-operative analgesia in children undergoing unilateral inguinal herniotomy.
Forty-six (46) ASA I or II patients aged three to seven years scheduled for unilateral inguinal herniotomy were recruited. The patients were randomized to receive surgical wound site infiltration with plain bupivacaine plus subcutaneous injection of ketamine for group I or surgical wound site infiltration plain bupivacaine plus 2ml of saline subcutaneously for group II at the end of surgery. Data obtained were analyzed using SPSS version 20. Continuous data were compared using student t-test while categorical data were compared using Chi-square or Fisher's exact test. P-value <0.05 was considered statistically significant.
In group, I, the mean time to first analgesic request was 667.7 minutes (11.12 hours) and in group II, it was 371.3 minutes (6.2 hours) with p<0.001. The pain scores were better and more favourable in group I from the 8th hour and above of the assessment period. The mean post-operative analgesic consumption in 24 hours was less in group I (19.35±5.4mg) than in group II (27.32±5.8 mg) with p-value <0.001.

Tricyclists are continuously exposed to vehicle emissions and other environmental pollutants, due to the nature of their job and vehicle design, which may be hazardous to health. However, there is paucity of data on the pulmonary functions of commercial tricyclists in Nigeria, which should have provided insight into any relevant health concerns in this population, hence this study.
This study evaluated the pulmonary functions of tricyclists, in comparison with those of age-matched non-tricyclists.
Two hundred and ten (210) [150 commercial tricyclists; 60 non-tricyclists] males (aged 20-65 years) participated in this unmatched case-control study in Enugu, Enugu state, Nigeria. Their pulmonary functions [Forced Vital Capacity (FVC), Forced Expiratory Volume in one second (FEV1), Peak Expiratory Flow Rate (PEFR)] were assessed using a computerized spirometer. Independent T-test and Pearson Chi-square were used to analyze data at a significant level of P<0.05.
Cough (46.0%) and dust allergies (40.7%) were the commonest reported respiratory symptoms among tricyclists. There were significant differences in the FVC (P<0.001), FEV1 (P<0.001) and PEFR (P<0.001) between the two groups, with tricyclists showing lower pulmonary function values. FEV1/FVC was <70% with increased FVC in 83.3% of the tricyclists, suggesting restrictive pulmonary abnormalities.

The maxillofacial structures are commonly affected in motorcycle crashes, with the mandible being one of the most frequently fractured bones. Helmets have been shown to have a protective effect in preventing maxillofacial injuries, however, its effect on the occurrence of mandibular fractures is not very well established.
To evaluate the pattern of mandibular fractures among motorcycle crash victims in Tanzania, and determine the role of helmets in occurrence of mandibular fractures among the motorcyclists.
This was a 6-months prospective, cross-sectional study that recruited motorcycle crash victims who reported with mandibular fractures following motorcycle crash at Muhimbili National Hospital. A specially designed questionnaire was used for data collection. For purpose of analysis, the Statistical Package for Social Sciences software version 20 was used.
The study included a total of 132 participants of whom majority were male (120, 90.9%). The peak age incidence was 21-40 years in 76.5% of the vic between those who wore and those who did not wear helmets during the crashes. However, the severity of mandibular fractures was dependent on the type of helmet used.

Hydroxychloroquine is an agent used as a treatment but also considered as a prophylaxis for SARS-CoV-2 infection. We report the case of a patient who developed COVID-19 while on hydroxychloroquine for mixed connectivitis associated with spondyloarthritis. Although more work is needed before any conclusions can be drawn, this raises questions about the protective role of this drug against infection. Are they really protected against COVID-19 or will they develop pauci-symptomatic forms?

our analysis showed that the incidence of confirmed COVID-19 cases differed widely across the 37 States, from 0.09 per 100,000 in Kogi to 83.7 in Lagos. However, more than 70% of confirmed cases were concentrated in just 7 States Lagos, Abuja, Oyo, Kano, Edo, Rivers and Delta. Case mortality rate (CMR) also varied considerably, with Lagos, Abuja and Edo having CMR above 9 per million population. On bivariate analysis, higher CMR correlated positively with GDP (r=0.53) and to a lesser extent with TB (r=0.36) and population density (r=0.38). To improve corrosion resistance of biodegradable AZ31 Mg alloy, we adopted microarc fluorination within a voltage range of 100-300 V in 46% hydrofluoric acid. To obtain morphologies, chemical compositions, and structural characteristics, field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were performed, respectively. Results showed that the coating was mainly composed of MgF2. Electrochemical corrosion and immersion tests proved that the corrosion resistance of MAF-treated AZ31 Mg alloy was significantly improved compared with untreated AZ31 Mg alloy in HBSS (Hank's Balanced Salt Solution). Current densities of AZ31, MAF100, MAF150, MAF200, MAF250, and MAF300 were 342.4, 0.295, 0.228, 0.177, 0.199, and 0.212 μA/cm2, respectively. The roughness test indicated that samples under MAF treatment of 200 V, 250 V, and 300 V had large surface roughness. A single layer of H2O molecules, condensed between large and small gold nanoparticles, stabilizes positioning of nanoparticles with respect to one another during milliseconds of the synthesis time. The lack of isolated small gold nanoparticles on the substrate is explained by Brownian motion that is significantly broader for small-size particles. It is inferred that H2O as an admixture in the inert gas condensation opens up possibilities of controlling the final configuration of the different noble metal nanoparticles.

The aim of this study was to analyze risk factors for COVID-19 prevalence and deaths in all 6 geopolitical regions and 37 States in Nigeria. we analyzed the data retrieved from various sources, including Nigeria CDC, Nigeria National Bureau of Statistics, Unicef-Nigeria multiple indicator cluster survey and the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation, University of Washington. We examined 4 clinical risk factors (prevalence of TB, HIV, smoking and BCG vaccination coverage) and 5 sociodemographic factors (age ≥65, population density, literacy rate, unemployment and GDP per capita). Multivariate modeling was conducted using generalized linear model. our analysis showed that the incidence of confirmed COVID-19 cases differed widely across the 37 States, from 0.09 per 100,000 in Kogi to 83.7 in Lagos. However, more than 70% of confirmed cases were concentrated in just 7 States Lagos, Abuja, Oyo, Kano, Edo, Rivers and Delta. Case mortality rate (CMR) also varied considerably, with Lagos, Abuja and Edo having CMR above 9 per million population. On bivariate analysis, higher CMR correlated positively with GDP (r=0.53) and to a lesser extent with TB (r=0.36) and population density (r=0.38). On multivariate analysis, which is more definitive, States with higher HIV prevalence and BCG coverage had lower CMR, while high GDP States had a greater CMR. this study indicates that COVID-19 has disproportionately affected certain States in Nigeria. METHODS Retrospective analysis of every ambulatory shareable medical provider note written in pediatric subspecialty clinics within an integrated pediatric delivery network from April 2017 through March 2019. RESULTS From April 2017 to February 2018, a total of 221,655 notes were shareable based on organizational policies, yet only 224 (0.1%) were actually shared with patients and families. After implementing a system of default release of notes from March 2018 to January 2019, a total of 224,960 notes were shareable, of which 191,379 (85%) were shared. CONCLUSION Requiring providers to take an action to share notes (opt-in) results in few notes being shared while requiring providers to take an action to not share notes (opt-out) results in high levels of note sharing. We demonstrate that default release of notes in pediatric organizations to both proxies and teens is not only achievable but also likely to lead to increased provider note sharing with patients without obvious negative impact on providers or the organization. There is no sex predisposition and clinical signs of disease usually become apparent by 1-7 years of age. In the terminal stages, the liver is enlarged and pale, and contains parenchymal hemorrhages. In the present study, pedigree data from 17 cats with clinical signs consistent with amyloidosis underwent genetic analysis. Necropsy and histopathological data were available for 10 of the 17 cats. Necropsy findings included pale, fragile and enlarged livers with capsular ruptures and parenchymal hemorrhages, and sanguineous effusions in the abdominal cavity. Congo red staining with birefringence confirmed systemic amyloidosis mostly involving the liver and thyroid gland. In four of the 10 cases, protein deposits were classified as amyloid A protein (AA-amyloid) by immunostaining. Pedigree data for all 17 affected cats indicated a familial trait. Animal threshold model analysis demonstrated that the heritability for amyloidosis was 0.56 ± 0.09 (standard error). Complex segregation analysis was used for statistical comparisons among models to determine environmental or sex dependent effects, and Mendelian, polygenic, or mixed Mendelian and polygenic inheritance patterns. A mixed model with a Mendelian and polygenic component provided the best fit to the data and thus was most likely. All other models of inheritance were rejected due to their insufficient ability to explain segregation of amyloidosis. In dogs, the diagnosis of AF is usually fairly straightforward, but optimal management can be complicated. Rate control is the most commonly used strategy; rhythm control can also be considered in very specific cases. Concurrent congestive heart failure is frequently identified, which represents an extra challenge for the clinicians. This article reviews the current recommendations for the diagnosis and management considerations of AF in dogs. There is no sex predisposition and clinical signs of disease usually become apparent by 1-7 years of age. In the terminal stages, the liver is enlarged and pale, and contains parenchymal hemorrhages. In the present study, pedigree data from 17 cats with clinical signs consistent with amyloidosis underwent genetic analysis. Necropsy and histopathological data were available for 10 of the 17 cats. Necropsy findings included pale, fragile and enlarged livers with capsular ruptures and parenchymal hemorrhages, and sanguineous effusions in the abdominal cavity. Congo red staining with birefringence confirmed systemic amyloidosis mostly involving the liver and thyroid gland. In four of the 10 cases, protein deposits were classified as amyloid A protein (AA-amyloid) by immunostaining. Pedigree data for all 17 affected cats indicated a familial trait. Animal threshold model analysis demonstrated that the heritability for amyloidosis was 0.56 ± 0.09 (standard error). Complex segregation analysis was used for statistical comparisons among models to determine environmental or sex dependent effects, and Mendelian, polygenic, or mixed Mendelian and polygenic inheritance patterns. A mixed model with a Mendelian and polygenic component provided the best fit to the data and thus was most likely. All other models of inheritance were rejected due to their insufficient ability to explain segregation of amyloidosis. Food preferences formed during toddler and preschool years often persist into adulthood, making toddlerhood an ideal time to help children build healthy habits. Toddlerhood can be both joyful and challenging as children acquire new skills and assert their autonomy. Effective parenting practices include providing age-appropriate structure and opportunities for toddlers, reading toddler's signals, and responding promptly, appropriately, and with nurturance. Other risk factors particularly relevant to young children include inadequate sleep, high consumption of sugar-sweetened drinks, and large food portions. Understanding the causes of obesity in preschool children is particularly important in view of long-term detrimental consequences of obesity in this age group on the risk of obesity and cardiometabolic disease in adults. The present chapter reviews causes of obesity in preschool children and its consequences for long-term health, focusing particularly on modifiable nutritional risk factors.Over the past decades, Brazil has faced important challenges regarding the nutrition of toddlers. Knockdown of CRSP8 suppressed cell growth, migration, invasion, stemness, and induced apoptosis and differentiation in ATC cells, while its overexpression displayed opposite effects in differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) cells. Mechanistically, CRSP8 downregulated IKKα expression by binding to the IKKα promoter region (-257 to -143) to negatively regulate its transcription. Knockdown or overexpression of IKKα significantly reversed the expression changes of the differentiation and EMT-related markers and cell growth changes mediated by CRSP8 knockdown or overexpression in ATC or DTC cells. The in vivo study also validated that CRSP8 knockdown inhibited the growth of thyroid cancer by upregulating IKKα signaling in a mouse model of human ATC. Diagnosis can be complicated by the existence of pseudodeficiencies, i.e., GAA variants that lower GAA activity but do not cause Pompe disease. A large-scale comparison between these assays for patient samples, including exceptions and borderline cases, along with clinical diagnoses has not been reported so far. Here we analyzed GAA activity in a total of 1709 diagnostic cases over the past 28 years using a total of 2591 analyses and we confirmed the clinical diagnosis in 174 patients. We compared the following assays leukocytes using glycogen or 4MUG as substrate, fibroblasts using 4MUG as substrate, and dried blood spots using 4MUG as substrate. In 794 individuals, two or more assays were performed. We found that phenotypes could only be distinguished using fibroblasts with 4MUG as substrate. Pseudodeficiencies caused by the GAA2 allele could be ruled out using 4MUG rather than glycogen as substrate in leukocytes or fibroblasts. The Asian pseudodeficiency could only be ruled out in fibroblasts using 4MUG as substrate. This study aimed to determine (1) the association of reservoir pressure parameters with carotid intima-media thickness (carotid IMT), a preclinical vascular phenotype, and (2) whether a multivariable regression model with or without reservoir pressure parameters fits better for estimating carotid IMT in children. Study participants were 11-12-year-old children (n = 1231, 50% male) from the Child Health CheckPoint study, a cross-sectional substudy of the population-based Longitudinal Study of Australian Children.
