  • We have made an attempt to have a stepwise approach to four cases relevant to the study and have an evaluation on the management of their antithrombotic agents during an episode of gastrointestinal bleeding. It is widely accepted that antithrombotic agents should be restarted as soon as possible after the establishment of hemostasis in a patient taking antithrombotics referring for gastrointestinal bleeding. The search aimed to retrieve the articles published during 2000-2019. Today, a gluten-free diet (GFD) is the only celiac disease treatment. Biotechnological strategy based on probiotic treatment could degrade gluten. Therefore, establishing a reliable method is necessary for COVID-19 patients to distinguish patients who may have critical symptoms from other patients. In this retrospective study, we firstly evaluated the effects of 54 laboratory indicators on critical illness and death in 3044 COVID-19 patients from the Huoshenshan hospital in Wuhan, China. Secondly, we identify the eight most important prognostic indicators (neutrophil percentage, procalcitonin, neutrophil absolute value, C-reactive protein, albumin, interleukin-6, lymphocyte absolute value and myoglobin) by using the random forest algorithm, and find that dynamic changes of the eight prognostic indicators present significantly distinct within differently clinical severities. Thirdly, our study reveals that a model containing age and these eight prognostic indicators can accurately predict which patients may develop serious illness or death. Fourthly, our results demonstrate that different genders have different critical illness rates compared with different ages, in particular the mortality is more likely to be attributed to some key genes (e.g. ACE2, TMPRSS2 and FURIN) by combining the analysis of public lung single cells and bulk transcriptome data. Taken together, we urge that the prognostic model and first-hand clinical trial data generated in this study have important clinical practical significance for predicting and exploring the disease progression of COVID-19 patients.As of October 2020, the COVID-19 global pandemic has infected over 40,000,000 people and has claimed over 1,000,000 lives globally (Johns Hopkins University, 2020). To mitigate the spread of the virus and their own liability, organizations have adopted multiple strategies to protect their employees and consumers. In addition to mask wearing, social distancing, and contact tracing, health attestations are being adopted by organizations that depend on physical contact between employees and consumers. The purpose of this tutorial is to describe how an automated health attestation and notification system can be created using Google's G Suite platform at little to no cost to the organization. When combined with other mitigation strategies and strong organizational policies, health attestations may be an effective component for organizations to include in their response to the global pandemic. The benefits and limitations of including health attestations as a component within an organization's COVID-19 policies are discussed.The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the seismic wave velocity on vertical displacement of a cable-stayed bridge's deck under asynchronous excitation. The Quincy Bayview Bridge located in Illinois, USA, and four other generic bridges are selected for the study. Ten records obtained from earthquakes in US, Japan, and Taiwan are used as input for the seismic excitation in the time-history analysis. Two equations are proposed in this study to determine a critical seismic wave velocity that would produce the greatest vertical deck displacement. The critical wave velocity depends on the total length of the bridge, the fundamental period of the bridge, and the C-factor. The C-factor in this study is 0.72, which is based on analyzed results from the five selected bridges. The two equations and the C-factor are verified through application on two 3-span cable-stayed bridges studied previously by Nazmy and Abdel-Ghaffar. The proposed C-factor of 0.72 is recommended for use for typical 3-span cable-stayed bridges with a side-to-main span ratio of about 0.48. The methodology developed in the study, however, can be applied to any specific bridge to examine the excitation of the deck vertical displacement under the longitudinal seismic ground motion.
    Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) is a challenging indication for liver transplantation (LT) due to a combination of massive liver, increased bleeding, retroperitoneal fibrosis and frequently presents with stenosis of the inferior vena cava (IVC). Occasionally, it may be totally thrombosed, increasing the complexity of the procedure, as it should also be resected. The challenge is even greater when performing living-donor LT as the graft does not contain the retrohepatic IVC; thus, it may be necessary to reconstruct it.

    A 35-year-old male patient with liver cirrhosis due to BCS and hepatocellular carcinoma beyond the Milan criteria underwent living-donor LT with IVC reconstruction. It was necessary to remove the IVC as its retrohepatic portion was completely thrombosed, up to almost the right atrium. A right-lobe graft was retrieved from his sister, with outflow reconstruction including the right hepatic vein and the branches of segment V and VIII to the middle hepatic vein. Owing to massive subcutaneous collaterals in the abdominal wall, venovenous bypass was implemented before incising the skin.

Because Ag and Cu are immiscible, synthetic AgCu nanoalloys have different microstructures, which impact their antimicrobial effects. When mixed, the combination of Ag and Cu NPs act synergistically, offering substantially enhanced antimicrobial behavior. However, when alloyed in Ag-Cu NPs, the antimicrobial behavior is even more enhanced. The reason for this enhancement is unclear. Expansins are a class of cell wall binding proteins, which play important roles in the relaxation of cell walls. Although there are many members in expansin gene family, the functions of most expansin genes in plant growth and development are still poorly understood. In this study, the functions of two expansin genes, AtEXPA4 and AtEXPB5 were characterized in Arabidopsis thaliana. AtEXPA4 and AtEXPB5 displayed consistent expression patterns in mature pollen grains and pollen tubes, but AtEXPA4 also showed a high expression level in primary roots. Two single mutants, atexpa4 and atexpb5, showed normal reproductive development, whereas atexpa4atexpb5 double mutant was defective in pollen tube growth. Moreover, AtEXPA4 overexpression enhanced primary root elongation, on the contrary, knocking out AtEXPA4 made the growth of primary root slower. Our results indicated that AtEXPA4 and AtEXPB5 were redundantly involved in pollen tube growth and AtEXPA4 was required for primary root elongation.The farmland area in arid and semiarid regions accounts for about 40% of the total area of farmland in the world, and it continues to increase. It is critical for global food security to predict the crop yield in arid and semiarid regions. To improve the prediction of crop yields in arid and semiarid regions, we explored data assimilation-crop modeling strategies for estimating the yield of winter wheat under different water stress conditions across different growing areas. We incorporated leaf area index (LAI) and soil moisture derived from multi-source Sentinel data with the CERES-Wheat model using ensemble Kalman filter data assimilation. According to different water stress conditions, different data assimilation strategies were applied to estimate winter wheat yields in arid and semiarid areas. Sentinel data provided LAI and soil moisture data with higher frequency ( less then 14 d) and higher precision, with root mean square errors (RMSE) of 0.9955 m2 m-2 and 0.0305 cm3 cm-3, respectively, for data assimarea, thereby improving the estimation accuracy of the assimilation model at a regional scale. In the arid and semiarid region of the southeastern Loess Plateau, assimilation of LAI independently can obtain high-precision yield estimation of winter wheat in irrigated area, while it requires assimilating both LAI and soil moisture to achieve high-precision yield estimation in the rain-fed area.Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and metabolic syndrome (MS) are two different entities sharing common clinical and physio-pathological features, with insulin resistance (IR) as the most relevant. The advantages of the proposed material and the prospects for using X-ray computed tomography in the matrix source are evaluated.In complex scenes, it is a huge challenge to accurately detect motion-blurred, tiny, and dense objects in the thermal infrared images. To solve this problem, robust thermal infrared vehicle and pedestrian detection method is proposed in this paper. An important weight parameter β is first proposed to reconstruct the loss function of the feature selective anchor-free (FSAF) module in its online feature selection process, and the FSAF module is optimized to enhance the detection performance of motion-blurred objects. The proposal of parameter β provides an effective solution to the challenge of motion-blurred object detection. Then, the optimized anchor-free branches of the FSAF module are plugged into the YOLOv3 single-shot detector and work jointly with the anchor-based branches of the YOLOv3 detector in both training and inference, which efficiently improves the detection precision of the detector for tiny and dense objects.     The purpose of this study is to assess the readability, understandability, and quality of information on retinopathy of prematurity presented at websites frequently visited by parents.

    A total of 220 websites were assessed, which were recruited by searching for "retinopathy of prematurity" at the Google search engine. The readability of each web page was assessed by Flesch Reading Ease Score, Gobbledygook's Gunning Frequency, Flesch Kincaid Grade Level, Coleman Liau score, The Simple Measure of Gobbledygook, Fry Graph Readability Formula, and Automated readability score. The understandability of the web pages included in the study was measured by using the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool. Quality was evaluated using Health in Net code and JAMA. The ALEXA traffic tool was used to reference the domains' popularity and visibility.

    Sixty-four websites were included to the study. The average Flesch Reading Ease Score was 50.1 ± 11.4, Gunning Frequency of Gobbledygook level was 13.4 ± 2.5, The Flesch-Kincaid Grade level was 10.7 ± 2.2, Coleman Liau level was 10.8 ± 1.7, Simple Measure of Gobbledygook level was 10.0 ± 1.9, and Fry Graph Readability Formula 11.9 ± 2.7, Automated readability score 10.4± 2.5. The average understandability score for all website-based patient education materials was 76.9 ± 15.2. Total JAMA Benchmark score is 2.27 ± 1.14 (range from 1 to 4). The quality of information at most websites were determined by our chosen assessments to not to be good.

    Websites addressed to parents for retinopathy of prematurity had found to have high understandability. It was concluded based on this study that readability and quality of presented written materials at online sources need to be improved.

The understandability of the web pages included in the study was measured by using the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool. Quality was evaluated using Health in Net code and JAMA. The ALEXA traffic tool was used to reference the domains' popularity and visibility. Sixty-four websites were included to the study. The average Flesch Reading Ease Score was 50.1 ± 11.4, Gunning Frequency of Gobbledygook level was 13.4 ± 2.5, The Flesch-Kincaid Grade level was 10.7 ± 2.2, Coleman Liau level was 10.8 ± 1.7, Simple Measure of Gobbledygook level was 10.0 ± 1.9, and Fry Graph Readability Formula 11.9 ± 2.7, Automated readability score 10.4± 2.5. We herein report a case of a 50-year-old woman diagnosed with severe OSA associated with COP. Both the OSA and COP gradually resolved by automatic continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy. New OSA symptoms appeared following the development of delayed encephalopathy after acute COP (DEACMP) 3 weeks later. Severe OSA was diagnosed 76 days after COP with an apnea-hypopnea index of 66 events/hour, and CPAP therapy was immediately administered. The patient's DEACMP symptoms and OSA both improved with CPAP therapy (her apnea-hypopnea index decreased to 32.4 and 16.5 events/hour at 161 and 204 days after COP, respectively). To our knowledge, this is the first case report of OSA caused by COP based on the occurrence and disappearance of OSA symptoms and laboratory findings associated with the emergence and improvement of DEACMP.Late blight (caused by Phytophthora infestans) poses a serious threat to tomato production but the number of late blight resistance genes isolated from tomato is limited, making resistance gene mining a high research priority. This finding compares with that of extracted leaf volatiles, which resulted in a lower AUC value of 0.51 ± 0.21.     This prospective, dose-escalation phase I study evaluated the safety and efficacy of intraperitoneal bevacizumab in managing refractory malignant ascites and explored the recommended dose of bevacizumab for further study.

    Patients with refractory malignant ascites were enrolled. Bevacizumab was intraperitoneal administered weekly at an initial dose of 2.5 mg/kg, with dose escalation to 5 and 7.5 mg/kg performed following the standard "3 + 3" rule. The total duration of treatment was 2 or 3 weeks.

    Between December 2013 and September 2014, 13 patients (2.5 mg/kg, n = 4; 5 mg/kg, n = 3; 7.5 mg/kg, n = 6) with refractory malignant ascites were enrolled. Bevacizumab was well tolerated, and the most common treatment-related adverse events were abdominal pain (5/13), abdominal distension (2/13), and fatigue (2/13). The dose-limiting toxicity at 7.5 mg/kg was grade 3 bowel obstruction (1/13). The maximum tolerated dose (MTD) was not reached. The overall response and disease control rates were 7.7 and 61.5%, respectively.

  • Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum, L.) is one of the most important vegetable crop in Serbia, with a total production of 111,639 t in 2019 (Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia). In July 2020, six tomatoes (cv. Balkan) with symptoms of fruit rot were collected from market in Belgrade, Serbia. The incidence of disease was about 2%, and the symptomatic samples were stored for 10 days after harvest. The initial symptoms on fruits were small circular, slightly sunken and water-soaked spots with white mycelia, that progressively expanded into larger grey lesions following the occurrence of sporulation. Isolations were conducted from one spot/fruit. Small pieces (2 to 3 mm2) from the margins of lesions were surface sterilized for 1 min in 1% NaOCl, washed twice with sterile distilled water, and cultivated on potato dextrose agar (PDA) at 25°C. The isolation frequency of Penicillium-like colonies was 100%. In total, six monosporic isolates were obtained and two isolates (SZ-20-6 and SZ-20-7) were selected as reprced by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technical Development of the Republic of Serbia, grant 451-03-68/2020-14/200010.During July and August 2020, symptoms of leaf yellowing and browning, sudden wilting, and death were observed on industrial hemp plants (Cannabis sativa L.) in several drip-irrigated fields in Yuma and Graham county, Arizona.     Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum, L.) is one of the most important vegetable crop in Serbia, with a total production of 111,639 t in 2019 (Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia). In July 2020, six tomatoes (cv. Balkan) with symptoms of fruit rot were collected from market in Belgrade, Serbia. The incidence of disease was about 2%, and the symptomatic samples were stored for 10 days after harvest. The initial symptoms on fruits were small circular, slightly sunken and water-soaked spots with white mycelia, that progressively expanded into larger grey lesions following the occurrence of sporulation. Isolations were conducted from one spot/fruit. Small pieces (2 to 3 mm2) from the margins of lesions were surface sterilized for 1 min in 1% NaOCl, washed twice with sterile distilled water, and cultivated on potato dextrose agar (PDA) at 25°C.   • Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) usually originates in the stomach, followed by the small intestine, rectum, and other parts of the gastrointestinal tract. The most common sites of metastasis are the liver and peritoneum, whereas spinal metastases from GIST are extremely rare.

    We found a case of GIST with the first presentation of multilevel spinal metastases involving the thoracic and lumbar vertebrae. A 61-year-old Chinese man presented to our clinic because of pain in his lower **** and hip for 10 d without cause. Subsequently, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed abnormal signals in the vertebral appendages of T12 and L4 accompanied by spinal canal stenosis, which was considered as tumor metastasis. As there were no metastases to vital organs, posterior thoracic and lumbar spinal decompression + adnexal mass resection + pedicle internal fixation was adopted to achieve local cure and prevent nerve compression. The results of histopathological studies were consistebecome more common in recent years, so the possibility of early spinal metastasis should be recognized. CT and MRI are of great value in the diagnosis of spinal metastatic tumors, and pathological biopsy is the gold standard for the diagnosis of metastatic tumors. It is safe and feasible to treat isolated spinal metastasis in GIST by excising metastatic masses, decompressing the spinal canal, and stabilizing the spine.

However, this paper reports that minimally invasive treatment of multiple hemangiomas with large diameters can achieve satisfactory results by multipoint injection.

    A 46-year-old female patient was hospitalized in another hospital for cough. We accidentally found thickening of the lower esophagus by chest computed tomography. The patient was eventually diagnosed with multiple GI hemangiomas and underwent a series of examinations including esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), endoscopic ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging. We calculated the dose of polidocanol according to the volumes of the hemangiomas, fixed the target vein with the help of a transparent cap, and then administered polidocanol
    multipoint injection into the hemangiomas under endoscopic guidance. EGD and endoscopic ultrasound showed that the hemangiomas disappeared. The color of the esophageal mucosa returned to normal 1 mo after sclerotherapy.

Abnormal liver function was observed in the patient at the age of 4 years and 11 mo, and elevated levels of liver function indices were persistent for 5 mo. Radiological imaging indicated hepatospleno-megaly without narrowing of the portal vein but dilated splenic vein. A liver biopsy confirmed the pathological features of CHF. Genetic testing revealed two novel homozygous mutations, namely, c.2141-3T>C variant in
    related to CHF and c.2921G>A (p.R974H) in
    related to CH. The patient was treated with compound glycyrrhizin tablet, ursodeoxycholic acid, and levothyroxine after diagnosis. The patient achieved a favorable clinical outcome during a follow-up period of over 2 years.

    Brain metastasis from intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma is rare. To the best of our knowledge, only a few cases have been reported. The biological behavior was complex, and treatment requires further investigation.

    A 62-year-old woman complained of left limb weakness. Abdominal computed tomography showed a 5.0 cm × 5.6 cm lesion in the left lobe of the liver. Tumor markers were normal. Serological analysis indicated absence of hepatitis virus. Brain magnetic resonance imaging revealed a 1.0 cm × 1.3 cm mass in the right frontal lobe. Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma with brain metastasis was diagnosed by our liver cancer multidisciplinary team. After sufficient preparation, the patient underwent partial frontal lobotomy and left hemihepatectomy. Histopathological results confirmed that both the lesions were cholangiocarcinoma. Six cycles of gemcitabine combined with S1 were administered. During a 39 mo postoperative follow-up, no sign of local recurrence or distant metastasis was observed.

Posterior atlantoaxial dislocations are rare, and complete posterior dislocation without associated fracture is even more rare. A case of early recurrence of posterior atlantoaxial dislocation without fracture being in therapy of first closed reduction and then open reduction has not been previously reported.

    A 45-year-old female presented with traumatic posterior atlantoaxial dislocation (TPAD) of C1-C2 without associated fractures, and Frankel Grade B spinal cord function. She was successfully managed by immediate closed reduction under skull traction. Unexpectedly, 17 d later, re-dislocation was discovered. On day 28, closed reduction was performed as before but failed. Then, open reduction and posterior internal fixation with autologous iliac bone grafts was performed. By 6 mo after surgery, atlantoaxial joint fusion was achieved, and neurological function had recovered to Frankel Grade E.

The adsorption modelings were employed on the dark experimental data and compared with the immobilized and suspended Cs-Mt counterparts. It was found that the bilayer photocatalyst closely followed the adsorption properties of immobilized Cs-Mt which obeyed the pseudo-second-order kinetic and film diffusion models. Fluorescent analysis revealed that the charge separation was enhanced in the presence of Cs-Mt as a sub-layer of TiO2. Under light irradiation, the photocatalytic activity of TiO2/Cs-MT corresponded to its adsorption counterpart trend and was optimized at pH 6.5 and 20 mg L-1 of MO dye solution. This critical review focuses on the bio-oil production from duckweed via pyrolysis and hydrothermal liquefaction processes. First, characteristics and eco-environmental benefits of duckweed are reviewed. Next, the impacts of different parameters on the properties and distribution of bio-oil from pyrolysis and hydrothermal liquefaction are discussed in detail. Subsequently, the effect of hydrogen donor solvents (as reaction media for upgrading) and catalysts on the upgrading of duckweed bio-oil are extensively discussed. However, few studies tracked antibiotics from their production site to the end of disposal environment. Taking the coastal region of Hangzhou Bay as the study area, the fate of 77 antibiotics from 6 categories in two-step wastewater treatment plants (WTPs, i.e. pharmaceutical WTP and integrated WTP) was focused; and the antibiotics in both dissolved and adsorbed phases were investigated simultaneously in this study. The ubiquitous occurrence of antibiotics was observed in the two-step WTPs, with antibiotic concentrations following the order of PWTP (LOQ - 1.0 × 105 ng·L-1) > IWTPi (for industrial wastewater treatment, LOQ - 3.7 × 103 ng·L-1) > IWTPd (for domestic sewage treatment, LOQ - 1.3 × 103 ng·L-1). And the types of antibiotics detected in excess sludge and suspended particles were in accordance with those in wastewater. The biofuels production from duckweed, is not only a solution to energy and environmental problems, but also a reliable way to realize the utilization of duckweed. This critical review focuses on the bio-oil production from duckweed via pyrolysis and hydrothermal liquefaction processes. First, characteristics and eco-environmental benefits of duckweed are reviewed. Next, the impacts of different parameters on the properties and distribution of bio-oil from pyrolysis and hydrothermal liquefaction are discussed in detail. Subsequently, the effect of hydrogen donor solvents (as reaction media for upgrading) and catalysts on the upgrading of duckweed bio-oil are extensively discussed. However, few studies tracked antibiotics from their production site to the end of disposal environment. Taking the coastal region of Hangzhou Bay as the study area, the fate of 77 antibiotics from 6 categories in two-step wastewater treatment plants (WTPs, i.e. pharmaceutical WTP and integrated WTP) was focused; and the antibiotics in both dissolved and adsorbed phases were investigated simultaneously in this study. The ubiquitous occurrence of antibiotics was observed in the two-step WTPs, with antibiotic concentrations following the order of PWTP (LOQ - 1.0 × 105 ng·L-1) > IWTPi (for industrial wastewater treatment, LOQ - 3.7 × 103 ng·L-1) > IWTPd (for domestic sewage treatment, LOQ - 1.3 × 103 ng·L-1). And the types of antibiotics detected in excess sludge and suspended particles were in accordance with those in wastewater. Quinolones were invariably dominant in both dissolved and adsorbed fractions. High removal efficiencies (median values >50.0%) were acquired for the dissolved quinolones (except for DFX), tetracyclines, β-lactams, and lincosamides. To inform public health policy to prevent CRC, we aimed to identify major modifiable lifestyle factors underlying the alarming increase in CRC incidence. We obtained information on CRC statistics from the Korea National Cancer Incidence Database and on the distribution of dietary and lifestyle factors known to modify CRC risk from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. To examine time trends between 2001 and 2013, we calculated annual percent changes of CRC incidence rates and of prevalence of etiologic factors by sex and age. Across all sex and age groups, the most commonly diagnosed cancer was rectal cancer while the most rapidly increasing cancer was distal colon cancer. For the lifestyle factors examined, decreases in exercise were observed across all age groups of both sexes. Yet, obesity and alcoholic drinks appear more relevant CRC contributor to men, smoking to women aged 30-49 years, and processed meat intake to adults aged 30-49 years. In the Gulf of St-Lawrence in Canada, we investigated whether and how niche differentiation occurs in four incubating seabird species breeding sympatrically using GPS-tracking and direct field observations of prey items carried by adults to chicks the Atlantic puffin (Fratercula arctica), razorbill (Alca torda), common murre (Uria aalge), and black-legged kittiwake (Rissa tridactyla). Although there was overlap at foraging hotspots, all species differentiated in either diet (prey species, size and number) or foraging range. Whereas puffins and razorbills consumed multiple smaller prey items that were readily available closer to the colony, murres selected larger more diverse prey that were accessible due to their deeper diving capability. Kittiwakes compensated for their surface foraging by having a large foraging range, including foraging largely at a specific distant hotspot. These foraging habitat specialisations may alleviate high interspecific competition allowing for their coexistence, providing insight on multispecies colonial living.Herein, we present simulations of conductive filament formation in resistive random-access memory using a finite element solver. We consider the switching material, which is typically an oxide, as a two-phase material comprising low- and high-resistance phases. The low-resistance phase corresponds to a defective and conducting region with a high anion vacancy concentration, whereas the high-resistance phase corresponds to a non-defective and insulating region with a low anion-vacancy concentration. We adopt a phase variable corresponding to 0 and 1 in the insulating and conducting phases, respectively, and we change the phase variable suitably when new defects are introduced during voltage ramp-up for forming. Initially, some defects are embedded in the switching material. When the applied voltage is ramped up, the phase variable changes from 0 to 1 at locations wherein the electric field exceeds a critical value, which corresponds to the introduction of new defects via vacancy generation. The applied voltage at which the defects percolate to form a filament is considered as the forming voltage. Here, we study the forming-voltage uniformity using simulations, and we find that for typical planar-electrode devices, the forming voltage varies significantly owing to the stochastic location of the initial defects at which the electric field is "crowded." On the other hand, a protruding electrode can improve the switching uniformity drastically via facilitating the deterministic location of electric-field crowding, which also supported by the reported experimental results.Co-combustion of municipal excess sludge (ES) and coal provides an alternative method for disposing ES. The present study aims to investigate the residual and ecological risk of heavy metals in fly ash from co-combustion of ES and coal. The total concentration and speciation distribution of heavy metals, characterization of SEM, EDX, XRD and leaching test were carried out to assess the fly ash in this study. The results showed that the total concentrations of Cu, Zn and Mn were higher than others in fly ash, and most heavy metals were concentrated in fine particles. For Cd, Cr and Pb, the percentages of speciation of F4 and F5 were all over 90%, suggesting the relatively lower leaching toxicity. The leaching percent of all heavy metals was lower than 5% by two diluted HNO3 solutions for fly ash. The weak and broad peaks appear at 2θ = 39°, indicating Pt metal exists on GNS.   • Background The ongoing corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is having a worldwide impact. Valuable information on the clinical characteristics of COVID-19 in pregnant patients with an autoimmune disease, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), is currently lacking. Methods Herein, we describe the clinical presentation of 2 pregnant patients with SLE and mild symptomatic COVID-19 infection. Results In both pregnant SLE patients, a watchful-waiting approach without initiation of treatment for COVID-19 was taken. No adverse outcomes were reported and both pregnancies resulted in healthy neonates born at term. In one patient we observed a flare in SLE disease activity, most likely attributed to discontinuing SLE treatment. Conclusion Our report highlights the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration between health care professionals as well as individualized treatment decisions during unprecedented periods such as the current COVID-19 pandemic. Discontinuation of immunosuppressive drugs during the acute phase of a COVID-19 infection should be considered on a case-by-case basis. Friction coefficient and wear were recorded during experiments. The used oil was evaluated by infrared detection after experiments. Results show that GMO could reduce friction coefficient at both low and high temperature. At elevated temperature, the friction coefficient of PAO-GMO blend climb up gradually, followed by a decrease tendency, and the wear increase gradually with temperature. The results of Quartz Crystal Microbalance show that the physical adsorption film plays the main role in friction reduction at low temperature. While at high temperature, the Infrared Spectrum and X-Ray Photoelectron Spectrum show that the GMO involves into the chemisorption with friction surface, producing Fe(OH)O and Fe3O4. The friction reduction mechanism of GMO transferred from physisorption to chemisorption, which reduced friction coefficient at both low and high temperature.

    This was a cross-sectional epidemiological study among fifth year clinical medical students (n = 219). A pretest and post-test was distributed to all fifth year clinical medical students voluntarily during the period of October 2017 to May 2018. They were asked to rate the exam as well.

    The mean exam grades were 25.52 (SD = 4.44) and 34.16 (SD = 5.76) for pre-rotation and post-rotation, respectively. There was a statistically significant difference between post and pre rotation exam grade for the overall sample (

     < .0001) indicating that students had a statistically significantly higher exam grades post-rotation (M = 34.16, SD = 5.76) than pre-rotation (M = 25.52, SD = 4.44). Females had a statistically significantly larger difference in post-rotation and pre-rotation exam grade than males indicating that they improved more in the post rotation exam. It was found that nearly 60% (59.36%) of subjects considered the exam difficult before the rotation; however, only around 40% (40.18%) considered the exam difficult after the rotation.

    Under-five morbidity is a significant public health concern in developing countries, and maternal intervention remains vital to achieving under-five optimal health.

    The study examined the influence of maternal self-rated capability status (SCS) on under-five morbidity in Ibadan North Local Government Area (LGA), Oyo State, Nigeria.

    The study interviewed 683 nursing mothers surveyed from 20 primary healthcare centers (PHCs) from 13th to 27th September 2018 in the LGA of study. We employed logistic regression models to examine the association of 4 domains of maternal SCS on under-five morbidity incidence controlling for the potential confounding effects of maternal, child, and household sociodemographic attributes.

    Under-five children of mothers with poor status in the knowledge of child morbidity, experience-informed action, child morbidity exposure, and childcare vulnerability domains are, respectively, 497%, 323%, 400%, and 318% more likely to be at risk of morbidity than their peers born to mothers with good status. In addition, the odds of morbidity were lower for children born to women with more than 1 under-five children (AOR 0.49, 95% CI 0.27, 0.88), while the odds were higher for those from households that are food-insecure (AOR 3.16, 95% CI 1.31, 7.65) and dispose of wastes within the compound (AOR 2.67, 95% CI 1.31, 5.45) relative to children in the comparative categories.

    Our findings revealed the significance of maternal SCS as a crucial pathway for understanding and reducing under-five morbidity. Community interventions should prioritize empowering nursing mothers with prevention and care information necessary to reduce the under-five morbidity burden at the community level.

Discontinuation of immunosuppressive drugs during the acute phase of a COVID-19 infection should be considered on a case-by-case basis. While at high temperature, the Infrared Spectrum and X-Ray Photoelectron Spectrum show that the GMO involves into the chemisorption with friction surface, producing Fe(OH)O and Fe3O4. The friction reduction mechanism of GMO transferred from physisorption to chemisorption, which reduced friction coefficient at both low and high temperature. Family Medicine was introduced as a major undergraduate clinical rotation in 2016 after the medical college at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University revised its curriculum. This was a cross-sectional epidemiological study among fifth year clinical medical students (n = 219). A pretest and post-test was distributed to all fifth year clinical medical students voluntarily during the period of October 2017 to May 2018. They were asked to rate the exam as well. The mean exam grades were 25.52 (SD = 4.44) and 34.16 (SD = 5.76) for pre-rotation and post-rotation, respectively. There was a statistically significant difference between post and pre rotation exam grade for the overall sample ( (218) = 23.73,  < .0001) indicating that students had a statistically significantly higher exam grades post-rotation (M = 34.16, SD = 5.76) than pre-rotation (M = 25.52, SD = 4.44). Females had a statistically significantly larger difference in post-rotation and pre-rotation exam grade than males indicating that they improved more in the post rotation exam. It was found that nearly 60% (59.36%) of subjects considered the exam difficult before the rotation; however, only around 40% (40.18%) considered the exam difficult after the rotation. Under-five morbidity is a significant public health concern in developing countries, and maternal intervention remains vital to achieving under-five optimal health. The study examined the influence of maternal self-rated capability status (SCS) on under-five morbidity in Ibadan North Local Government Area (LGA), Oyo State, Nigeria. The study interviewed 683 nursing mothers surveyed from 20 primary healthcare centers (PHCs) from 13th to 27th September 2018 in the LGA of study. We employed logistic regression models to examine the association of 4 domains of maternal SCS on under-five morbidity incidence controlling for the potential confounding effects of maternal, child, and household sociodemographic attributes. Under-five children of mothers with poor status in the knowledge of child morbidity, experience-informed action, child morbidity exposure, and childcare vulnerability domains are, respectively, 497%, 323%, 400%, and 318% more likely to be at risk of morbidity than their peers born to mothers with good status. In addition, the odds of morbidity were lower for children born to women with more than 1 under-five children (AOR 0.49, 95% CI 0.27, 0.88), while the odds were higher for those from households that are food-insecure (AOR 3.16, 95% CI 1.31, 7.65) and dispose of wastes within the compound (AOR 2.67, 95% CI 1.31, 5.45) relative to children in the comparative categories. Our findings revealed the significance of maternal SCS as a crucial pathway for understanding and reducing under-five morbidity. Community interventions should prioritize empowering nursing mothers with prevention and care information necessary to reduce the under-five morbidity burden at the community level.
