Pregnancy is a challenging period for mothers and fathers. This study aimed to investigate the effect of counseling on stress and anxiety levels of fathers.
This randomized controlled trial was conducted on 102 spouses of pregnant women in Ardabil, Iran. The participants were randomly assigned to intervention and control groups. The intervention group attended four 60-min counseling sessions at weekly intervals. The perceived stress and anxiety questionnaires were completed before and 4 weeks after the intervention.
The mean scores of state anxiety in the intervention group decreased significantly 4 weeks after the intervention compared with the control group (MD -2.4; 95%CI - 4.7 to - 0.2; p = 0.030). Four weeks after the intervention, no significant difference was found between the two groups in terms of trait anxiety (p = 0.472) and perceived stress (p = 0.635).
The findings indicate that counseling reduced state anxiety in expectant fathers; therefore, this intervention is recommended to be used to reduce fathers' anxiety.

Preoperative evaluation of lymph node (LN) state is of pivotal significance for informing therapeutic decisions in gastric cancer (GC) patients. However, there are no non-invasive methods that can be used to preoperatively identify such status. We aimed at developing a genomic biosignature based model to predict the possibility of LN metastasis in GC patients.
We used the RNA profile retrieving strategy and performed RNA expression profiling in a large GC cohort (GSE62254, n= 300) from Gene Expression Ominus (GEO). In the exploratory stage, 300 GC patients from GSE62254 were involved and the differentially expressed RNAs (DERs) for LN-status were determined using the R software. GC samples in GSE62254 were randomly allocated into a learning set (n= 210) and a verification set (n= 90). By using the Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression approach, a set of 23-RNA signatures were established and the signature based nomogram was subsequently built for distinguishing LN condition. Togram that integrates the 23-RNA biosignature based scores and Lauren classification. This model can be utilized to estimate the probability of LN metastasis with good performance in GC. The functional analysis of the DERs reveals the prospective biogenesis of LN metastasis in GC.
Empirical evidence supporting the distinction between suicide attempt (SA) and non-suicidal self-harm (NSSH) is lacking. Although NSSH is a risk factor for SA, we do not currently know whether these behaviours lie on a continuum of severity, or whether they are discrete outcomes with different aetiologies. We conducted this exploratory genetic epidemiology study to investigate this issue further.
We explored the extent of genetic overlap between NSSH and SA in a large, richly-phenotyped cohort (the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children; N = 4959), utilising individual-level genetic and phenotypic data to conduct analyses of genome-wide complex traits and polygenic risk scores (PRS).

Osteoporosis is one of the most common chronic musculoskeletal diseases. Osteoporosis-related knowledge is an important contributor in to prevent osteoporosis. There is no validated reliable questionnaire to measure the knowledge in Hungary. The aim of the study was to validate the Osteoporosis Knowledge Assessment Tool (OKAT) Hungarian version.
The research was a randomized validation study of a new Hungarian language instrument. The questionnaire was administered to 557 randomly selected healthy women (age between 25 and 44 years) from December 2018 to July 2019 in Baranya county, Hungary. The reliability was examined by the Flesch reading ease and McNemar's test. We examined item discrimination and item-total correlations, inter-item consistency (Cronbach's alpha coefficient) and principal component factor analysis.
Significant differences (p < 0.001) were reported between total scores and the age categories. Significant (p < 0.001) correlation (r = 0.25) was found between the education level and the knowledge. Significantly (p < 0.001) higher knowledge were found in health care profession (14.53 ± 3.58) than the non-health care profession (9.99 ± 4.04). Participants with osteoporosis or fracture in family history had better knowledge (p < 0.001). Flesch reading ease was 44, the questionnaire had a Ferguson's sigma of 0.94 and a Cronbach's alpha of 0.81. There were no negative inter-item correlations psychometric properties of the OKAT, all items had more than 70% of correlations (p < 0.001).

LC-MS represents an alternative means of quantifying the concentrations of the NADome in clinically relevant biological specimens after careful consideration of analyte extraction procedures, selection of internal standards, analyte stability, and LC assays. LC-MS represents a rapid, robust, simple, and reliable assay for the measurement of the NADome between control and test samples, and for identifying biological correlations between the NADome and various biochemical processes and testing the efficacy of strategies aimed at raising NAD+ levels during physiological ageing and disease states.Network-based representations have introduced a revolution in neuroscience, expanding the understanding of the brain from the activity of individual regions to the interactions between them. This augmented network view comes at the cost of high dimensionality, which hinders both our capacity of deciphering the main mechanisms behind pathologies, and the significance of any statistical and/or machine learning task used in processing this data. A link selection method, allowing to remove irrelevant connections in a given scenario, is an obvious solution that provides improved utilization of these network representations. In this contribution we review a large set of statistical and machine learning link selection methods and evaluate them on real brain functional networks. Results indicate that most methods perform in a qualitatively similar way, with NBS (Network Based Statistics) winning in terms of quantity of retained information, AnovaNet in terms of stability and ExT (Extra Trees) in terms of lower computational cost. While machine learning methods are conceptually more complex than statistical ones, they do not yield a clear advantage. At the same time, the high heterogeneity in the set of links retained by each method suggests that they are offering complementary views to the data. The implications of these results in neuroscience tasks are finally discussed.Supplementation of a mother's diet with antioxidants, such as hydroxytyrosol (HTX), has been proposed to ameliorate the adverse phenotypes of fetuses at risk of intrauterine growth restriction. In the present study, sows were treated daily with or without 1.5 mg of HTX per kilogram of feed from day 35 of pregnancy (at 30% of total gestational period), and individuals were sampled at three different ages 100-day-old fetuses and 1-month- and 6-month-old piglets. After euthanasia, the brain was removed and the hippocampus, amygdala, and prefrontal cortex were dissected. The profile of the catecholaminergic and serotoninergic neurotransmitters (NTs) was characterized and an immunohistochemical study of the hippocampus was performed. The results indicated that maternal supplementation with HTX during pregnancy affected the NT profile in a brain-area-dependant mode and it modified the process of neuron differentiation in the hippocampal CA1 and GD areas, indicating that cell differentiation occurred more rapidly in the HTX group. These effects were specific to the fetal period, concomitantly with HTX maternal supplementation, since no major differences remained between the control and treated groups in 1-month- and 6-month-old pigs.Long-term studies with regular tree nut consumption have indicated positive outcomes for multiple health benefits. Far from being only a reliability issue, we demonstrated a method to exploit this device response to perform light, temperature and/or pressure sensors in as-synthesized devices. Two orders of magnitude drain current level differences were demonstrated by comparing device operation under light and dark conditions while a factor up to 105 is observed at vacuum versus atmospheric pressure environments.
Spasticity is one of the factors that make it more difficult to control posture in stroke patients. Taping has been used to manage muscle stiffness in various musculoskeletal disorders. Recently, it has been used to decrease spasticity in stroke patients, but the effect of taping combined with therapeutic exercise is still unclear. The purpose of the present study was to determine whether the sit-to-stand (STS) training combined with taping improves the ankle spasticity, muscle strength, gait speed, and quality of life in stroke patients.
The study recruited 40 stroke patients, who were randomly divided into two groups the taping and STS training (TSTS) group (n = 20) and the STS group (n = 20). The subjects in the TSTS group underwent STS training with Kinesio taping on the tibialis anterior, calf and ankle joint, whereas the subjects in the STS group underwent only STS training. All participants underwent 30 sessions of STS training (30 minutes, 5 days per week for 6 weeks). The present study evaluated the spasticity of ankle plantar flexors by the mean of the composite spasticity score; the muscle strength and gait speed were evaluated using the handheld dynamometer and the 10-meter walk test, respectively, and the quality of life was assessed using the stroke-specific quality of life scale.

Abnormal expression of Tau protein can cause the development of Alzheimer's disease (AD). So far, **** evidence has demonstrated that Tau has multiple isoforms. These isoforms are suggested to have distinct physiological roles and contribute unequally to the progress of AD. Thus, detection of individual Tau isoforms may be helpful to better understand the link between clinical outcome and Tau status and to further improve AD diagnosis and treatment. However, few studies have been conducted on absolute quantification of Tau isoforms, probably due to high sequence homology and also low abundance of these isoforms in biofluids such as cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Therefore, mass spectrometry-based targeted proteomics was attempted here. This targeted proteomics approach can principally measure a protein of interest at the surrogate peptide level, yet little has been done to detect protein isoforms, probably due to lack of isoform-specific surrogate peptides in mass spectrometry. In this study, separations in more dimensions were added, including immunoprecipitation (IP) and sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) for sample pretreatment and systems of linear equations for post-lab data extraction. Moreover, the reliability of the approach including IP enrichment, gel separation, and linear algebra algorithms was discussed. As a result, each isoform of Tau protein can be individually detected and quantified. Using IP enrichment, ∼250-fold enhancement of sensitivity was achieved. The ultimate LOQ was 0.50 nM. The aim of this study was to determine the extent of any relationship between soccer players' chronological and relative age, and objective and subjective performance assessments. Data for highly talented male soccer players selected into the German Soccer Associations' talent promotion program (N = 16,138) for U12 to U15 age groups (M age = 12.62 ± 1.04 years) were examined. To sort out the pros and cons of the relation between such standards and ES work in sport organizations, the Formula E (for Electric) championship is used as case example. The championship became the first category in motorsport to receive ISO certification in 2018, and 2 years later, it achieved net zero carbon footprint from inception. On that basis, the article provides a typology that provides coordinates for empirical research on how sport organizations may avoid "organizational hypocrisy" in their ES work by viewing the pros and cons of ISO certification. This research examines the impact of different broadcast platforms on game day engagement with WNBA team Twitter accounts. Using data for the 2016-2018 seasons, results indicate athlete/team quality and performance were positively associated with post engagement, underscoring the importance of the core sport product and potentially indicating that the WNBA is developing a star-driven culture similar to the NBA. In addition, broadcasting on League Pass or local TV (for home teams) and Twitter were associated with lower post engagement suggesting we have more to learn about maximizing online engagement.Purpose To analyze sex and age group differences in strength, jump, speed, flexibility, and endurance performances of TeamGym athletes. Methods A total of 91 Swedish elite gymnasts (junior female, n = 26, age = 15.4 y; senior female, n = 23, age = 20.0 y; junior male, n = 19, age = 15.6 y; senior male, n = 23, age = 20.6 y) participated in three testing sessions on three separate days. These recent developments occasionally have led to no-touch policies, which may result in moral panic, uncertainty, and fear of unjustified suspicion among coaches. However, the role of closeness and distance in the development of sexual violence within the coach-athlete relationship has not yet been researched systematically. In this scoping review, the authors focus on the coach-athlete relationship, particularly its predispositions to sexual violence and how to prevent abusive relationships. Some characteristics typical of elite sport may predispose coaches to commit abuse, such as gender and power relations, the need for physical touch, hierarchical structures in sport, and trust and closeness between coaches and athletes. This scoping review follows an interdisciplinary approach combining sociological and psychological perspectives.

To sort out the pros and cons of the relation between such standards and ES work in sport organizations, the Formula E (for Electric) championship is used as case example. The championship became the first category in motorsport to receive ISO certification in 2018, and 2 years later, it achieved net zero carbon footprint from inception. This research examines the impact of different broadcast platforms on game day engagement with WNBA team Twitter accounts. Using data for the 2016-2018 seasons, results indicate athlete/team quality and performance were positively associated with post engagement, underscoring the importance of the core sport product and potentially indicating that the WNBA is developing a star-driven culture similar to the NBA. In addition, broadcasting on League Pass or local TV (for home teams) and Twitter were associated with lower post engagement suggesting we have more to learn about maximizing online engagement.Purpose To analyze sex and age group differences in strength, jump, speed, flexibility, and endurance performances of TeamGym athletes. Overall, we found 17 different disruptive mutations in PgABCA2 gDNA and 26 in PgABCA2 cDNA, including novel mutations corresponding precisely to single-guide (sgRNA) sites used for CRISPR/Cas9. Analysis of plaque reduction neutralization test (PRNT) titers and seropositivity rates along with the 17DD-YF viremia and serum biomarkers were carried out at distinct time points (D0/D3-4/D5-6/D7/D14-28). The results demonstrated an overall lower PRNT titer and seropositivity rate (170 vs. 448; 77 vs. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/ziftomenib.html 95%) in AID as compared to HC, especially in SpA and SLE subgroups. No significant differences were observed in the viremia levels amongst groups. In general, a more prominent serum biomarker response was observed in AID as compared to HC, throughout the timeline kinetics. The primary objective of this study was to examine the patient comprehension of diabetes self-management instructions provided at hospital discharge as an associated risk of readmission.
Noncritically ill patients with diabetes completed patient comprehension questionnaires (PCQ) within 48 hours of discharge. PCQ scores were compared among patients with and without readmission or emergency department (ED) visits at 30 and 90 days. Of 128 patients who completed the PCQ, scores were similar among those with 30-day (n= 31) and 90-day (n= 54) readmission compared with no readmission (n= 72) (79.9 ± 14.4 vs 80.4 ± 15.6 vs 82.3 ± 16.4, respectively) or ED visits. Clarification of discharge information was provided for 47 patients. PCQ scores of 100% were achieved in 14% of those with and 86% without readmission at 30 days (P= .108). Of predischarge glycemic measures, glycemic variability was negatively associated with PCQ scores (P= .035). DERRIs were significantly higher among patients readmitted at 90 days but not 30 days.

Stimulation with recombinant human thyroid-stimulating hormone (rhTSH) before radioactive iodine administration for patients with thyroid cancer may increase the body iodine pool in the presence of continued levothyroxine; however, the precise significance of its influence remains unclear.
This was a prospective observational study conducted between March 2017 and August 2020. We measured the 24-hour urinary iodine excretion and urinary iodine-to-creatinine ratio in patients with thyroid cancer stimulated by rhTSH or thyroid hormone withdrawal (THW) before radioactive iodine administration. Oral iodine intake was controlled by a 7-day self-managed low iodine diet, followed by a strict 3-day low iodine diet while in the hospital.
Overall, 343 subjects were included (rhTSH n= 181; THW n= 162). The mean levothyroxine dose in the rhTSH group was 115.2 μg daily. The median 24-hour urinary iodine and urinary iodine-to-creatinine ratio in the rhTSH group (71.0 [interquartile range, 57.5-88.0] μg/day and 80.0 [59.0-97.5] μg/gCr, respectively) were significantly higher than those in the THW group (42.0 [30.0-59.0] μg/day and 39.0 [28.0-61.3] μg/gCr, respectively; both P < .001). After propensity score matching by age, sex, body weight, and renal function (rhTSH n= 106; THW n= 106), consistent results for both values were observed for both methods. The increase in urinary iodine with the rhTSH method was smaller than the expected value calculated from the amount of levothyroxine.

To estimate the association of maternal thyroid dysfunction with the risk of gestational hypertension and diabetes. Whether the association was affected by gestational age at diagnosis and thyroid autoimmunity was further explored.
A cohort study of 41 647 participants was conducted. Thyroid function (ie, thyroid-stimulating hormone [TSH] and free thyroxine [FT4]) was measured by electrochemiluminescence immunoassay. Thyroid antibody positivity (eg, thyroperoxidase, thyroglobulin, and TSH receptor antibody) was indicated if the values of these antibodies exceeded the upper targets of the reference range. The relationship between maternal thyroid dysfunction and the risk of pre-eclampsia (PE) and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) was assessed by multivariate logistic regression.
Isolated hypothyroxinemia (defined as 5th ≤ TSH ≤ 95th percentile, FT4 < 5th percentile) was associated with the risk of PE (odds ratio [OR], 1.32; 95% CI, 1.10-1.58). Overt hypothyroidism (TSH > 95th percentile; FT4 < 5th percentile) was related to the risk of severe PE (OR, 2.59; 95% CI, 1.05-6.37). Being positive for TSH receptor antibody was associated with a decreased risk of GDM (OR, 0.49; 95% CI, 0.35-0.70). A marginally significant association between overt hypothyroidism detected at the first trimester and the risk of GDM was found (OR, 1.60; 95% CI, 1.00-2.83). Many type 2 diatetic patients treated with premixed insulin gradually have inadequate glycaemic control and switch to a basal-bolus regimen, which raises some concerns for weight gain and increased hypoglycaemic risk. Switching to combination use of glp-1 agonist and basal insulin may be an alternative option.
After a 12-week premixed human insulin 70/30 dosage optimization period, 200 patients with HbA1c of 7.0% to 10.0% were randomized into 24-week treatment groups with exenatide BID plus glargine or with aspart 70/30 BID.

Stimulation with recombinant human thyroid-stimulating hormone (rhTSH) before radioactive iodine administration for patients with thyroid cancer may increase the body iodine pool in the presence of continued levothyroxine; however, the precise significance of its influence remains unclear. This was a prospective observational study conducted between March 2017 and August 2020. We measured the 24-hour urinary iodine excretion and urinary iodine-to-creatinine ratio in patients with thyroid cancer stimulated by rhTSH or thyroid hormone withdrawal (THW) before radioactive iodine administration. Oral iodine intake was controlled by a 7-day self-managed low iodine diet, followed by a strict 3-day low iodine diet while in the hospital. Overall, 343 subjects were included (rhTSH n= 181; THW n= 162). The mean levothyroxine dose in the rhTSH group was 115.2 μg daily. The median 24-hour urinary iodine and urinary iodine-to-creatinine ratio in the rhTSH group (71.0 [interquartile range, 57.5-88.0] μg/day and 80.0 [59.0-97.5] μg/gCr, respectively) were significantly higher than those in the THW group (42.0 [30.0-59.0] μg/day and 39.0 [28.0-61.3] μg/gCr, respectively; both P < .001). Isolated hypothyroxinemia (defined as 5th ≤ TSH ≤ 95th percentile, FT4 < 5th percentile) was associated with the risk of PE (odds ratio [OR], 1.32; 95% CI, 1.10-1.58). Overt hypothyroidism (TSH > 95th percentile; FT4 < 5th percentile) was related to the risk of severe PE (OR, 2.59; 95% CI, 1.05-6.37). Being positive for TSH receptor antibody was associated with a decreased risk of GDM (OR, 0.49; 95% CI, 0.35-0.70). After a 12-week premixed human insulin 70/30 dosage optimization period, 200 patients with HbA1c of 7.0% to 10.0% were randomized into 24-week treatment groups with exenatide BID plus glargine or with aspart 70/30 BID. After 24 weeks, the patients receiving exenatide plus glargine (n = 90) had improved HbA1c control compared with those receiving aspart 70/30 (n = 90) (least squares mean change -0.59 vs. -0.13%; difference [95% CI] -0.45 [-0.74 to -0.17]) in the full analysis set population. The LGE consisted of two progenitor populations. OI-IS is capable of imaging responses either through an intact or thinned skull or following a craniotomy. Therefore, it is minimally invasive, which makes it ideal for survival experiments. Here we describe OI-IS-based methods for guiding microinjections of optogenetics viral vectors in proximity to small functional modules (S1 barrels) of the cerebral cortex and for guiding the insertion of electrodes for electrophysiological recording into such modules. We validate our proposed methods by tissue processing of the cerebral barrel field area, revealing the track of the electrode in a predetermined barrel. In addition, we demonstrate the use of optical imaging to visualize the spatial extent of the optogenetics photostimulation, making it possible to estimate one of the two variables that conjointly determine which region of the brain is stimulated. Lastly, we demonstrate the use of OI-IS at high-magnification for imaging the upper recording contacts of a laminar probe, making it possible to estimate the insertion depth of all contacts relative to the surface of the cortex. To determine the prognostic characteristics of optical coherence tomography (OCT) parameters by evaluating diabetic macular edema (DME) patients with early dexamethasone (DEX) shift after three doses of intravitreal ranibizumab (RNB) injection.
Fifty-four eyes of 34 patients who had DEX implant after three doses of RNB were included in this retrospective study. Early DEX shift includes patients who received direct DEX implant replacement after three doses of RNB load. Baseline OCT values and factors affecting best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and central macular thickness (CMT) response were analyzed with logistic regression analyses.

However, PCG is more common in certain ethnic and geographic groups where consanguineous relationships are common. The importance of this review is to inspect the mutations in the cytochrome P450 1B1 gene (CYP1B1) and to highlight the interest of the genetic study of CYP1B1 mutations. An in-depth study was carried out by the following search engines PubMed, Scopus, clinic key and direct science for articles that have been published from 2011 until 2020. One hundred and sixty-one mutations were found in 1641 tested patients and three families, including 78 novel mutations. We identified a no significant difference in the sex ratio and the bilaterality was reported in the majority of patients. We have shown through this study that inbreeding plays an important role in the pathogenesis of PCG transmission compared to the sporadic mutations that have been found in some cases. The majority of the included studies were from ASIA (64.3%), followed by Europe (17.85%), America (10.71%) and Africa (7.14%). The first and most common mutation in our study is 182 G>A (p.Gly61Glu). It was identified in Iran, Portugal and Saudi Arabia and for the first time in Brazil and Vietnam. The greatest number of mutations in common is p.Gly61Glu. Mainly within five countries Iran, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Brazil and Vietnam. The first step in PCG screening should be a genetic test looking for founder and common mutation coupled with a clinical examination.The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of vaginal pH on efficacy of intracervical dinoprostone gel (PGE2) for labour induction, progression and induction delivery interval. A cross-sectional study was done among 150 term pregnant women planned for induction with unfavourable Bishop's score ≤5. Women were categorised into two groups based on vaginal pH >4.5 and ≤4.5. Induction was done with maximum of three doses of PGE2 based on Bishop's score, followed by oxytocin administration. Failed induction rate was 14.5%. There was no significant association between vaginal pH and Bishop's score change after first gel application. There was no significant difference in failed induction rates, time from induction to active labour as well as induction delivery interval between two groups. Similarly, there was no significant association between oxytocin requirement and mode of delivery with vaginal pH. Intracervical PGE2 is an ideal route, unaffected by vaginal pH.Impact StatementWhat is already known on thisd intracervical PGE2 gels with vaginal and cervical pH, to directly compare their effectiveness in labour induction.
To evaluate clinical utility and feasibility of universal somatization screening in the pediatric emergency department (ED) using a standardized approach of (1) identifying potential somatizing symptoms within the ED, (2) introducing these patients and their caregivers to the concept of the 'mind-body connection', (3) corroborating the likelihood of a somatization diagnosis via brief psychiatric assessment, and (4) inviting families to a psychoeducational follow-up session.
We conducted a cross-sectional study to carry out this approach with families visiting a pediatric ED. Our primary outcome of screening utility was measured as the proportion of youth who screened positive for somatization by the ED clinician. Our secondary outcome of screening feasibility was measured as the proportion of patients with positives who (1) agreed to meet with the study psychiatrist, (2) consented to an ED psychiatric assessment, (3) were assessed by the study psychiatrist as likely experiencing somatization, and (4) were invited for follow-up and attended.
Of the 344 screened patients, 27 (7.8%) screened positive for somatization. Of these, 25 (92.6%) families verbally consented to meet the study psychiatrist to learn about the mind-body connection, and 21 (77.8%) consented to further psychiatric assessment. Upon assessment, the somatization likelihood was supported for all 21 youth. Twenty families were invited to follow-up and ultimately two (10%) attended.
Somatization can be detected through ED-based universal screening. Few families attended psychoeducational follow-up. Further research is needed to determine appropriate ED-initiated pediatric somatization intervention.

A cross-sectional study was done among 150 term pregnant women planned for induction with unfavourable Bishop's score ≤5. Women were categorised into two groups based on vaginal pH >4.5 and ≤4.5. Induction was done with maximum of three doses of PGE2 based on Bishop's score, followed by oxytocin administration. Failed induction rate was 14.5%. There was no significant association between vaginal pH and Bishop's score change after first gel application. There was no significant difference in failed induction rates, time from induction to active labour as well as induction delivery interval between two groups. Similarly, there was no significant association between oxytocin requirement and mode of delivery with vaginal pH. Intracervical PGE2 is an ideal route, unaffected by vaginal pH.Impact StatementWhat is already known on thisd intracervical PGE2 gels with vaginal and cervical pH, to directly compare their effectiveness in labour induction. To evaluate clinical utility and feasibility of universal somatization screening in the pediatric emergency department (ED) using a standardized approach of (1) identifying potential somatizing symptoms within the ED, (2) introducing these patients and their caregivers to the concept of the 'mind-body connection', (3) corroborating the likelihood of a somatization diagnosis via brief psychiatric assessment, and (4) inviting families to a psychoeducational follow-up session. We conducted a cross-sectional study to carry out this approach with families visiting a pediatric ED. Our primary outcome of screening utility was measured as the proportion of youth who screened positive for somatization by the ED clinician. Our secondary outcome of screening feasibility was measured as the proportion of patients with positives who (1) agreed to meet with the study psychiatrist, (2) consented to an ED psychiatric assessment, (3) were assessed by the study psychiatrist as likely experiencing somatization, and (4) were invited for follow-up and attended. Of the 344 screened patients, 27 (7.8%) screened positive for somatization. Of these, 25 (92.6%) families verbally consented to meet the study psychiatrist to learn about the mind-body connection, and 21 (77.8%) consented to further psychiatric assessment. Upon assessment, the somatization likelihood was supported for all 21 youth. Twenty families were invited to follow-up and ultimately two (10%) attended. Somatization can be detected through ED-based universal screening. Few families attended psychoeducational follow-up. Facility-based death review committee (DRC) of neonatal deaths and stillbirths can encourage stakeholders to enhance the quality of care during the antenatal period and labour to improve birth outcomes. To understand the benefits and impact of the DRCs, this study was aimed at exploring the DRC members' perception about the role and benefits of the newly developed facility-based DRCs in five pilot hospitals in Jordan, to assess women empowerment, decision-making process, power dynamics, culture and genderism as contributing factors for deaths, and impact of COVID-19 lockdown on births.
A descriptive study of a qualitative design-using focus group discussions-was conducted after one year of establishing DRCs in 5 pilot large hospitals. The number of participants in each focus group ranged from 8 to10, and the total number of participants was 45 HCPs (nurses and doctors). Questions were consecutively asked in each focus group. The moderator asked the main questions from the guide and then used probing as nealth care providers, which may be reflected in improving the quality of provided healthcare services.

The foot posture index (FPI) is a valid, reliable, and multidimensional method for determining foot posture in a wide range of clinical settings. To date, no normative data of healthy young adults in Saudi Arabia have been available for comparison and reference. Hence, this study is aimed at establishing the FPI reference values, gender, and side differences of FPI and their association with anthropometric determinants, balance, functional mobility, and hypermobility.
FPI was assessed in 581 (291 men and 290 women) healthy young adults aged 18-25 years. The FPI range was obtained for both feet as the sum of the scores (-2, -1, 0, 1, and 2) given to each criterion (-1 to -12) supinated foot, (0 to +5) neutral foot, and (+6 to +12) pronated foot. The study furthermore assessed the balance using a near tandem balance test, functional mobility by stair ascent and descent test, and joint hypermobility via the Beighton scale.

HE was induced by TAA (200 mg/kg; i.p.) for three successive days. Forty male Wister albino rats were divided into 4 groups; the first group was served as a normal, and the second group was injected with TAA and served as TAA control. The third and fourth groups were administered D. salina (100 and 200 mg/kg; p.o.), respectively, after TAA injection for 7 days. The behavioral and biochemical markers as well as histological aspects of HE were estimated. This study revealed that TAA caused behavioral changes, oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, nuclear pyknosis, and neurons degeneration. D. salina improved liver function and decreased oxidative stress and inflammatory mediator as TLR4 protein expression. Also, D. salina elevated HSP-25 and IGF-1 as well as improved brain histopathological alterations. Pretherapy and posttherapy measurements were made for each group.
