This study explored biochemical parameters of blood in workers operating in the main workshops at the Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium and Magnesium Plant magnesium (Mg) workshop (furnace operator, chlorinator operator, and electrolyzer operator), titanium tetrachloride workshop (mill operator and titanium (Ti) production operator), and Ti sponge workshop (reduction furnace operator, knockout operator, and crushing machine operator). The control group consisted of 112 male workers, whose duties were not related to similar occupational hazards (plumbers, electricians, janitors cleaning the administrative building, security guards, and carpenters). The activity of gamma-glutamyl transferase, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, creatine phosphokinase, lactate dehydrogenase, cholinesterase, alkaline phosphate, and α-amylase and the concentration of serum calcium, Mg, phosphorus, and chloride ion were measured. To clarify the nature of pathological changes that occur in the body of mammals under the influence of toxic gases and dust, this study also included 130 sexually mature, white female rats. Animals and workers were exposed to examination of the same indicators. Changes in test results of enzymes and minerals indicated a negative impact that harmful production factors may have had on the bodies of workers. Findings showed significant fluctuations in enzyme and mineral blood profiles of workers as compared to controls. In the test animals, changes in the enzyme activity and mineral blood composition were as diverse as in the workers. These findings will be useful when identifying markers of a negative impact of harmful substances in an industrial workplace and when developing measures to prevent employees from developing an occupational disease.Grief is a culturally-situated praxis, where cultural phenomena convey norms and expectations for grief expression and reconciliation. Music is one example of a cultural phenomenon that can inform grief and mourning. Utilizing narrative thematic analysis, the author examined cultural messages within music lyrics of 36 songs performed at the One Love Manchester 2017 benefit concert. Four themes-emotional expression, active mourning, expectations, and meaning-making-are presented as a poem to reflect the creative form and delivery of music. Findings indicated conflicting emotional and behavioral grief expressions, and time was an influential factor in expectations and meaning-making processes conveyed throughout lyrics.The paper "Combating COVID-19 and Building Immune Resilience A Potential Role for Magnesium Nutrition?" by TC Wallace, which was published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition highlights the importance of adequate magnesium (Mg) supply in relation to COVID-19. There was no difference in social support between the two groups. These findings can have implications for using these factors in relapse prevention strategies by focusing on the factors specifically found in each group. However, these findings have to be studied in a larger community sample.
For patients with cancer who are older than 65 years, the 2018 ASCO Guideline recommends geriatric assessment (GA) be performed. However, there are limited data on providers' practices using GA. Therefore, ASCO's Geriatric Oncology Task Force conducted a survey of providers to assess practice patterns and barriers to GA.
Cancer providers treating adult patients including those ≥ 65 years completed an online survey. Questions included those asking about awareness of ASCO's Geriatric Oncology Guideline (2018), use of validated GA tools, and perceived barriers to using GA. Descriptive statistics and statistical comparisons between those aware of the Guideline and those who were not were conducted. Statistical significance was set at

This study will test the feasibility and effectiveness of mobile technology intervention on the patients' self-management of oral anticancer medication. Secondary objectives include acceptability, the usefulness of text messages, and satisfaction by participants and nurses.
This prospective two-arm study will recruit patients (N=220) with metastatic breast cancer and initiating treatment with palbociclib (Ibrance ®). Allowing for attrition, patients will be randomized into the control (N=100) or intervention (N=100) group. Unidirectional text message reminders will be sent during the treatment cycle through a secure web application using the patient's smartphone. Self-reported survey responses will be collected at three time points; at consent, end of treatment cycles, and the follow-up clinic visit and include a demographic questionnaire, the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire, Post study questionnaire and the R-15 Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire. ge patients in their care and improve medication self-management of anticancer treatment regimens.
Despite the ease of administering oral anti-cancer medications, oncology patients maynot take them as prescribed and consequently, these factors affect patient outcomes and disease control. Given the importance of taking oral anti-cancer medications and the difficulties patients experience in achieving it, the effective use of mobile technology interventions can actively engage patients in their care and improve medication self-management of anticancer treatment regimens.Dissociation of nonproductively bound cellulolytic enzymes from cellulose is hypothesized to be a key rate-limiting factor impeding cost-effective biomass conversion to fermentable sugars. However, the role of carbohydrate-binding modules (CBMs) in enabling nonproductive enzyme binding is not well understood. Here, we examine the subtle interplay of CBM binding and cellulose hydrolysis activity for three models type-A CBMs (Families 1, 3a, and 64) tethered to multifunctional endoglucanase (CelE) on two distinct cellulose allomorphs (i.e., cellulose I and III). We generated a small library of mutant CBMs with varying cellulose affinity, as determined by equilibrium binding assays, followed by monitoring cellulose hydrolysis activity of CelE-CBM fusion constructs. Finally, kinetic binding assays using quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation were employed to measure CBM adsorption and desorption rate constants k on and k off , respectively, towards nanocrystalline cellulose derived from both allomorphs. Overall, our results indicate that reduced CBM equilibrium binding affinity towards cellulose I alone, resulting from increased desorption rates ( k off ) and reduced effective adsorption rates ( nk on ), is correlated to overall improved endocellulase activity. Future studies could employ similar approaches to unravel the role of CBMs in nonproductive enzyme binding and develop improved cellulolytic enzymes for industrial applications.
Dual mobility constructs for THA have been a tremendous advancement for hip arthroplasty surgeons, especially in scenarios where instability is a possibility. While some researchers have reported events of malseating with their use, the authors of the current study believe that this may be avoided by ensuring appropriate surgical technique. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to (1) describe the surgical techniques that we employ to ensure that the liner is adequately seated; and (2) report the rates of malseating, dislocation, and aseptic loosening among our collective cohort of dual mobility THA patients.
All patients who underwent THA with a dual mobility construct between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2018 at four institutions were identified. Those who had less than two years of follow up were excluded. Outcomes of interest included radiographic evidence of liner malseating, aseptic loosening, and dislocation. A total of 1,826 patients who underwent THA with a dual mobility construct were idelseating is not a prevalent issue with dual mobility THA when appropriate surgical techniques are used. It is hoped that that this paper clarifies the techniques for implantation of these implants and that excellent results can be achieved when care is taken to ensure that liners are well-seated intraoperatively.The circular stapler has played a critical role in fashioning colorectal anastomoses following low anterior resection for rectal cancer. One of the greatest benefits of the circular stapler has been the feasibility of constructing ultra-low anastomoses, thereby decreasing permanent colostomy rates. A notable US innovation to the original design was the addition of disposable cartridges of various sizes, which greatly decreased assembly time and made the instrument more versatile. As bundle payments have begun focusing on orthopaedic procedures, particularly total knee arthroplasties (TKAs), surgeons and hospitals have evaluated methods for improving efficiency. Few studies have investigated the impact of novel, sealed-container and instrument-tray technology on turnover and costs. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to compare traditional and sealed container-sterilized TKA surgical trays by 1) investigating the setup and clean-down time in the operating room (OR); 2) examining trays processing time in central sterile supply (CS); and 3) estimating OR and CS costs and waste produced.
An interdisciplinary team determined points throughout a TKA tray single-case life cycle that could cause variations in turnover time. The times were recorded for two different TKA tray configurations. Process A utilized instruments housed in vendor trays that were "blue" wrap sterilized, while Process B employed optimized trays that were sealed container-sterilized. Times were recorded during preoperative setup and postoperative clean down in the OR and CS.

Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is a rare primary neuroendocrine cutaneous tumor, rarely metastasizing to the brain. Chronic lymphoid leukemia (CLL) is a disease predisposing to MCC. According to previous reports, headache and focal neurological deficits suggest disease progression to the brain. We present a patient with ****whose seizure was not elicited by a cerebral metastasis, but by bone metastases compressing the brain.
. A 62-year-old female patient had a history of CLL. A lesion with the appearance of an atheroma was removed from the right upper arm. Histology confirmed the diagnosis of MCC. She was admitted to the neurology department with her first GM seizure. The cranial MRI/MRA showed bone metastases in the right parietal and both frontal areas, compressing the brain. Flow cytometry of CSF did not reveal metastasis of MCC.

The search for potential plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) capable of enhancing plant tolerance to drought stress is needed. Thus, this study was initiated to evaluate the effect of inoculating Acacia abyssinica seedlings with PGPR isolated from rhizosphere soil of Ethiopia to enhance DS tolerance. The strains were selected based on in vitro assays associated with tolerance to drought and other beneficial traits such as salinity, acidity, temperature, heavy metal tolerances, biofilm formation, and exopolysaccharide (EPS) production. The strains with the best DS tolerance ability were selected for the greenhouse trials with acacia plants. The results indicate that out of 73 strains, 10 (14%) were completely tolerant to 40% polyethylene glycol. Moreover, 37% of the strains were strong biofilm producers, while 66 (90.41%) were EPS producers with a better production in the medium containing sucrose at 28 ± 2°C and pH 7 ± 0.2. Strains PS-16 and RS-79 showed tolerance to 11% NaCl. All the strains were able to grow in wider ranges of pH (4-10) and temperature (15-45°C) and had high tolerance to heavy metals. We present a patient with MCC whose seizure was not elicited by a cerebral metastasis, but by bone metastases compressing the brain. . A 62-year-old female patient had a history of CLL. A lesion with the appearance of an atheroma was removed from the right upper arm. Histology confirmed the diagnosis of MCC. She was admitted to the neurology department with her first GM seizure. Thus, this study was initiated to evaluate the effect of inoculating Acacia abyssinica seedlings with PGPR isolated from rhizosphere soil of Ethiopia to enhance DS tolerance. The strains were selected based on in vitro assays associated with tolerance to drought and other beneficial traits such as salinity, acidity, temperature, heavy metal tolerances, biofilm formation, and exopolysaccharide (EPS) production. The aim of this study was to describe healthcare utilization of patients admitted to ICU before and after ICU admission.
Register-based study including adult patients discharged from ICU between January 1st, 2011 and December 31st, 2014. Reference group was a sex- and age-matched population not admitted to an ICU in the study period. Outcomes were hospital admissions, contacts to general practitioner or emergency services and municipality services from 1year before ICU admission and up to 3years after.
The study included 82384 patients and an equal number of reference persons. Of patients with ICU admission, 48% were married (reference group 57%), 48% had elementary school education (reference group 38%) and 18% had a Charlson co-morbidity score of 5+ (4% in reference group). We found that 51% of patients with an ICU admission had been admitted to hospital in the year before ICU admission (reference group 15%) and 97% had a contact to a general practitioner (reference group 89%) in the same period.
Patients admitted to an ICU had increased use of both primary and secondary health care both before and for years after ICU treatment, even after adjustment for comorbidities and socio-economic factors.

Health insurance provides access to health care with financial risk protection. Knowledge and attitude have been found to influence enrolment in community-based health insurance, which avoids catastrophic health-care expenditure. However, knowledge and attitude levels towards health insurance are not well studied. The objective of this study was to determine the knowledge and attitude level of the informal workers of the Bahir Dar city towards community-based health insurance.
A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted with systematically selected 335 informal workers. We conducted structured face-to-face interviews using a newly developed and validated questionnaire. The collected data were coded and then entered into Epi data and exported to SPSS software for analysis. Logistic regression analysis was used to identify potential associations between the study variables.
Out of 325 informal workers, 51% of them had good knowledge of community-based health insurance, while 56% of participants Therefore, community-based health insurance should be promoted to ensure the accessibility of health care to all.

A total of 426 consecutive IS patients with T2DM were enrolled in this case-control study and they were divided into HTPR group and non-HTPR group according to the ADP-induced platelet inhibition (PIADP) assessed by thromboelastography (TEG). Genotypes were detected by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) method. Various clinical and demographic data were also recorded. The association between

Novel coronavirus disease has become such an escalating epidemic that the exponential growth of infected patients has overloaded the health-care systems in many countries. Determination of early assessments for patients with a risk of clinical deterioration would benefit the management of COVID-19 outbreaks.
A total of 214 confirmed COVID-19 patients were enrolled from January 11th to February 11th 2020. Medical records including laboratory parameters, clinical outcomes and other characteristics of the admitted patients were analyzed retrospectively.
The critical patients experienced a significantly prolonged onset-admission interval and presented with lymphopenia (
=-0.547,
=0.015) and lower albumin level (
<0.001) 6 days after symptom onset. Early admission of critical patients significantly reduced the duration of hormone therapy. Starting from 9 days of hospital stay, the reduced lymphocyte counts exhibited linear growth. Furthermore, on days 9 and 12, significant correlations were demonstrated between immunological manifestations and duration of hormone therapy in critical patients, and length of hospital stay in severe patients. In addition, the virus negative conversion rate was more significantly correlated with increased lymphocytes in critical patients.

Determination of early assessments for patients with a risk of clinical deterioration would benefit the management of COVID-19 outbreaks. A total of 214 confirmed COVID-19 patients were enrolled from January 11th to February 11th 2020. Medical records including laboratory parameters, clinical outcomes and other characteristics of the admitted patients were analyzed retrospectively. The critical patients experienced a significantly prolonged onset-admission interval and presented with lymphopenia ( =-0.547, =0.015) and lower albumin level ( <0.001) 6 days after symptom onset. Early admission of critical patients significantly reduced the duration of hormone therapy. Starting from 9 days of hospital stay, the reduced lymphocyte counts exhibited linear growth. Furthermore, on days 9 and 12, significant correlations were demonstrated between immunological manifestations and duration of hormone therapy in critical patients, and length of hospital stay in severe patients. In addition, the virus negative conversion rate was more significantly correlated with increased lymphocytes in critical patients. Early intervention, within 6 days of symptom onset, benefited patients' recovery from critical illness. And we also fabricated it on the commercial SOI wafer. Preventing bacterial adhesion on materials surfaces is an important problem in marine, industrial, medical and environmental fields and a topic of major medical and societal importance. In-plane conductance is greater than conductance around the ring, but cyclo[18]carbon is slightly more conductive than B9N9 for both in-the-plane and in-the-ring conduction. The computed conductance per molecular orbital provides insight into how the orbitals-their energies and densities-drive the conduction.Electronic structures and excited-state properties of Cu(i) complexes with varying coordination numbers have been investigated by means of advanced quantum chemical methods. Kinetic and thermodynamic studies of adsorption were also carried out, which depicted that the adsorption process of both dyes was exothermic in nature and followed pseudo-second-order kinetics. The results of the simulation and experiment show the same trend, which means that the injection of a small amount of CO2 into pure N2 will greatly improve the gas adsorption volume of the coal, demonstrating that it is feasible to improve the ability of the coal to absorb mixed gases by changing the gas concentration and consequently to increase the efficiency of inert gas for fire extinguishing and suppression.The Euler-Lagrangian method is adopted to simulate the dispersion of gaseous pollutants and particulate matter (PM) in isolated street canyons, and the influences of the roof angle on the flow structures and distributions of gaseous pollutants and PM are analyzed in detail. Numerical simulation results indicate that gaseous pollutants and PM in the canyons present three typical single main clockwise vortex, transition vortex, and double vortex structures, which are identified at increasing roof slopes. Gaseous pollutants and PM demonstrate the lowest concentration of pollutants when a single vortex structure exists. The concentration of gaseous pollutants and PM reaches the highest value in pedestrian-level areas when the flow field is in a transitional vortex structure. Unlike gaseous pollutants, the concentration of PM does not always decrease with increasing altitude, and higher PM concentrations sometimes occur in the mid-level areas of the canyon. Stroke is one of the commonest causes of mortality among the world. Hemorrhagic stroke accounts nearly 15% of all the strokes. Different risk factors have been identified, of them hypertension, anti-coagulation therapy and previous history of ischemic strokes are significant. Regarding the genetic causes of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) monogenic causes play a small role. It was found that Apolipoprotein E (APOE) gene has a strong association with ICH. This is a 299 amino acids long protein located in chromosome 19. APOE has three alleles, they are epsilon 2, 3 and 4. Total 10 meta-analysis were reviewed in this article which involved 52,705 participants. When looking for the association, ∈2 and ∈4 showed positive and ∈3 showed negative association with ICH. Association of ∈4 (OR mean 1.77) was stronger than that of ∈2 (OR mean 1.71).We would like to describe the clinical course of a 61-year-old gentleman with the background history of Stage IV left lower lobe lung adenocarcinoma who presented to the outpatient department at Changi General Hospital, Singapore on March 2019 with unintentional loss of weight, easy fatigability and breast pain while showering for last four months. He was started on pembrolizumab immunotherapy about 9 months before presentation which he tolerated well. Subsequent endocrine work ups revealed features consistent with hypophysitis that lead to hypopituitarism in the form of secondary adrenal insufficiency and hypothyroidism. While more and more patients are receiving novel anti-cancer treatment for example immunotherapy, we should never forget and address the side effects it brings along. In adults, in such cases symptoms of hypogonadism may be the first noticeable illness for reporting to physicians, but it is often under evaluated or even ignored. Here, we present a case of 40-year-old adult male with panhypopituitarism, who presented with loss of generalized body hair and loss of libido for about last five years but the problem was not evaluated adequately. Later, he developed lethargy, generalized weakness, weight loss and then the underneath cause detected was panhypopituitarism due to pituitary macro adenoma. So, suspicion and hormonal evaluation for hypogonadism would help in early detection and management of progressive hypopituitarism in symptomatic adult patients. Cases of panhypopituitarism need lifelong hormone replacement and follow-up and if pituitary adenoma is present, surgical removal by trans-sphenoidal approach is preferable.Holoprosencephaly is a rare spectrum of congenital malformation associated with midline facial defects and absence of olfactory tract. In this study, we described a case of holoprosencephaly neonate with 34 weeks gestational age and antenatal ultrasonography diagnosed as congenital defects in the central nervous system, asymmetric growth of head. After birth the infant was presented with multiple congenital anomalies (cleft lip, cleft palate, microphthalmia, absent philtrum, absent nasal septum with single naris) similar to holoprosencephaly sequence.Noonan's syndrome is a developmental disorder characterized by short stature, typical facial dysmorphia, congenital heart defects and skeletal deformity. It may be sporadic or inherited as an autosomal dominant or recessive trait which occurs, one in 1000-2500 live births. We report a case of 16 years young girl presented to the hospital with short stature, Shortness of breath, morphologic features and congenital heart defect of Noonan Syndrome who has no similar history in the family and admitted in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University on 12th August 2018.Vas deferens calcification is a very rare condition. We are presenting such a non inflammatory type of bilateral vas calcification in a diabetic chronic kidney diseases (CKD) patient. CGA content of green coffee bean extract (GCBE) was isolated and quantified by high performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) (6.426%). We hypothesize that this was caused by high NANOG expression. Here, we describe the experimental results and findings related to NS-hiPSCs. This is the first report on the establishment of NS-hiPSCs and their disease modeling.The aim of this study was to evaluate progression of the bowel endometriosis lesion over time. We performed a retrospective cohort with 164 patients with rectosigmoid endometriosis identified by transvaginal ultrasound (TVUS) with bowel preparation waiting for surgical treatment. Length and circumference of the bowel lesion evaluated by TVUS, painful symptoms (dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, noncyclic pelvic pain, dyschezia, dysuria), and menopausal status were assessed at baseline and 6, 12, 24, 36, and > 36 months. A linear mixed model was used and p values 0.05). The results suggest that bowel endometriosis does not increase over time during reproductive age and reduces after menopause. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) play important roles in the progression of gastric cancer (GC). The Wnt1/β-catenin pathway can promote the proliferation of GC cells. This study aimed to explore whether circRNA_0044516 can regulate the proliferation of GC cells by modulating the Wnt1/β-catenin pathway.
The expression of circRNA_0044516, miR-149, Wnt1, and β-catenin in GC tissues or cells was detected by qRT-PCR and western blot. Cell viability and apoptosis were measured by CCK-8 and flow cytometry assays, respectively. We performed a retrospective cohort with 164 patients with rectosigmoid endometriosis identified by transvaginal ultrasound (TVUS) with bowel preparation waiting for surgical treatment. Length and circumference of the bowel lesion evaluated by TVUS, painful symptoms (dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, noncyclic pelvic pain, dyschezia, dysuria), and menopausal status were assessed at baseline and 6, 12, 24, 36, and > 36 months. A linear mixed model was used and p values 0.05). The results suggest that bowel endometriosis does not increase over time during reproductive age and reduces after menopause. CBCT is presently being used in many aspects of dentistry including osseointegrated implant planning, orthodontics, endodontics, investigation of pathology, and assessment prior to complex dental extractions. The identification of seven individuals from multiple fatality incident was undertaken using a simple technique for completing comparative radiographic dental identifications using post-mortem medical computed tomographic (CT) image-acquisition techniques and commercially available dental software normally used in clinical care. The authors will show the means by which the harvesting of anatomically important data from medical CTs and conversion of these files was undertaken to provide crisp, clear post-mortem dental images for forensic comparison to assist in the identification of two adults and provide age stratification of three juveniles. The use of this technique has shown to be beneficial for expediting efficient identification of deceased individuals, helping to isolate which cases may need additional scientific methods of identification, saving time and money to the organization and eliminating biological/body substance or radiation exposure to the operator. In Group 3 (N = 112), 2-fold and 10-fold concentrated TNA eluates were prospectively analyzed in parallel to VIC. CMV was detected by VIC in 79 of 694 (11%) and 26 of 303 (9%) of Groups 1 and 2, but in 114 of 694 (16%) and 57 of 303 (17%) by CMV-QNAT, respectively. Median CMV loads were significantly higher in VIC-positive than in VIC-negative BALF. The likelihood for CMV detection by VIC was 85% for BALF CMV- loads >4 log10 copies/ml. Overall, the findings of this study have strongly confirmed the nutritional potentials of these seeds and its safety and wholesomeness as human food condiments.Quarrying and crushing activities constitute a major threat to the environment and occupational health of the workers in Jaflong, Sylhet. This study aims to determine the environmental sustainability of stone quarrying and crushing activities considering four dominant environmental components, viz. physicochemical parameters of water, PM2.5 and PM10, sound, and land use land cover (LULC). Water quality was measured in a seasonal variation, and air and sound data were collected in an 8-h period of every weekday of 2 months while LULC data were also collected from 1999 to 2019 with 5 years of interval. Water quality index (WQI) and cluster analysis were applied to classify the pollution sources while inverse distance weighting (IDW) and weighted overlay were used to show the vulnerable zone. All the parameters were considered with the established limit of WHO. WQI detects that the sampling stations located near the quarrying site were responsible for the deterioration of the water quality. Cluster analysis identified that the S8 and S10 sites were heavily susceptible to air and sound pollution. IDW and WO ranked the south-western lower stream and tribal village located at the north-western side as moderately to highly polluted. Correlation analysis illustrated that the values of air and sound parameters were concentrated above the permissible limit. Besides, LULC change revealed the significant lowering trend of vegetation and water bodies whereas it shows the upward trend of barren land and settlement. Finally, the extensive quarrying and crushing activities without any safety measure lead to breaking the environmental sustainability as well as workers and nearby dwellers were exposed to several respiratory diseases.
The goal of this manuscript is to summarize the current understanding of the secreted APOA1 binding protein (AIBP), encoded by NAXE, in angiogenesis, hematopoiesis, and inflammation. The studies on AIBP illustrate a critical connection between lipid metabolism and the aforementioned endothelial and immune cell biology.
AIBP dictates both developmental processes such as angiogenesis and hematopoiesis, and pathological events such as inflammation, tumorigenesis, and atherosclerosis. Although cholesterol efflux dictates AIBP-mediated lipid raft disruption in many of the cell types, recent studies document cholesterol efflux-independent mechanism involving Cdc42-mediated cytoskeleton remodeling in macrophages. AIBP disrupts lipid rafts and impairs raft-associated VEGFR2 but facilitates non-raft-associated NOTCH1 signaling. Furthermore, AIBP can induce cholesterol biosynthesis gene SREBP2 activation, which in turn transactivates NOTCH1 and supports specification of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPC-associated NOTCH1 signaling. This randomized controlled experimental study was conducted between July 2015 and April 2019 in anesthesiology and reanimation of intensive care unit (ICU). The patients of experimental group underwent oropharyngeal aspiration under surgical aseptic conditions before each position change. Patients of the control group received oropharyngeal aspiration only as needed. The mean age of the patients was 62.87 ± 17.33 years. The mean and median duration of stay in the ICU were 27.28 ± 30.69 and 18.00 days respectively. The mean and median of duration of the mechanical ventilation support were 26.72 ± 30.65 and 18.00 (min 4; max 168) days respectively. This review will also stimulate academics and researcher to update their current technology. Additionally, we also state about the future revolving around the detection of the novel coronavirus. Lately, the way ahead for better management are also put forward.
Overall, the findings of this study have strongly confirmed the nutritional potentials of these seeds and its safety and wholesomeness as human food condiments.Quarrying and crushing activities constitute a major threat to the environment and occupational health of the workers in Jaflong, Sylhet. This study aims to determine the environmental sustainability of stone quarrying and crushing activities considering four dominant environmental components, viz. physicochemical parameters of water, PM2.5 and PM10, sound, and land use land cover (LULC). Water quality was measured in a seasonal variation, and air and sound data were collected in an 8-h period of every weekday of 2 months while LULC data were also collected from 1999 to 2019 with 5 years of interval. Water quality index (WQI) and cluster analysis were applied to classify the pollution sources while inverse distance weighting (IDW) and weighted overlay were used to show the vulnerable zone. All the parameters were considered with the established limit of WHO. WQI detects that the sampling stations located near the quarrying site were responsible for the deterioration of the water quality. Cluster analysis identified that the S8 and S10 sites were heavily susceptible to air and sound pollution. IDW and WO ranked the south-western lower stream and tribal village located at the north-western side as moderately to highly polluted. Correlation analysis illustrated that the values of air and sound parameters were concentrated above the permissible limit. Besides, LULC change revealed the significant lowering trend of vegetation and water bodies whereas it shows the upward trend of barren land and settlement. Finally, the extensive quarrying and crushing activities without any safety measure lead to breaking the environmental sustainability as well as workers and nearby dwellers were exposed to several respiratory diseases. We will discuss its potential therapeutic applications in angiogenesis and inflammation due to selective targeting of activated cells.The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of oropharyngeal aspiration on ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) incidence just prior to changing patient position. This randomized controlled experimental study was conducted between July 2015 and April 2019 in anesthesiology and reanimation of intensive care unit (ICU). The patients of experimental group underwent oropharyngeal aspiration under surgical aseptic conditions before each position change. Patients of the control group received oropharyngeal aspiration only as needed. The mean age of the patients was 62.87 ± 17.33 years. The mean and median duration of stay in the ICU were 27.28 ± 30.69 and 18.00 days respectively. The mean and median of duration of the mechanical ventilation support were 26.72 ± 30.65 and 18.00 (min 4; max 168) days respectively.
