Recent advances in millimeter wave technologies, both in component and system design, in line with important size and cost reductions, have opened up new applications in ultra-high-speed wireless communications, radar and imaging sensors. The paper presents the evolution of millimeter wave circuit and modules fabrication and characterization technologies in the past decades. Novel planar low-cost fabrication technologies have been successfully developed in this period. In combination with the standard rectangular wave-guide technology, these offer great opportunities for prototyping and testing of future millimeter wave transceivers or front-ends, which integrate antenna arrays, down-converters, modulators, amplifiers, etc., in a compact fixture. The paper uses, as a suggestive example, the evolution of the multi-port interferometric front-ends implementation from millimeter wave bulky components and systems to miniaturized and high-efficient ones. Circuit and system designs are carefully done to avoid (as **** as possible) complicated calibration methods or difficult post-processing of baseband data. This requires an increased effort in design and fabrication, but it allows miniaturization, low-power consumption, while keeping very good overall performances. Useful and straightforward laboratory characterization techniques of circuits and systems are described in detail.Medical tools used to bolster decision-making by medical specialists who offer malaria treatment include image processing equipment and a computer-aided diagnostic system. Malaria images can be employed to identify and detect malaria using these methods, in order to monitor the symptoms of malaria patients, although there may be atypical cases that need more time for an assessment. This research used 7000 images of Xception, Inception-V3, ResNet-50, NasNetMobile, VGG-16 and AlexNet models for verification and analysis. These are prevalent models that classify the image precision and use a rotational method to improve the performance of validation and the training dataset with convolutional neural network models. Xception, using the state of the art activation function (Mish) and optimizer (Nadam), improved the effectiveness, as found by the outcomes of the convolutional neural model evaluation of these models for classifying the malaria disease from thin blood smear images. In terms of the performance, recall, accuracy, precision, and F1 measure, a combined score of 99.28% was achieved. Consequently, 10% of all non-dataset training and testing images were evaluated utilizing this pattern. Notable aspects for the improvement of a computer-aided diagnostic to produce an optimum malaria detection approach have been found, supported by a 98.86% accuracy level.The Focused Ion Beam Induced Deposition (FIBID) under cryogenic conditions (Cryo-FIBID) technique is based on obtaining a condensed layer of precursor molecules by cooling the substrate below the condensation temperature of the gaseous precursor material. This condensed layer is irradiated with ions according to a desired pattern and, subsequently, the substrate is heated above the precursor condensation temperature, revealing the deposits with the shape of the exposed pattern. As a proof of concept of the potential applications of this technology, a 100 µm × 100 µm pattern is carried out in only 43 s of ion exposure (area dose of 23 μC/cm2), to be compared with 2.5 h if grown by standard FIBID at room temperature. The ion trajectories and the deposit composition have been simulated using a binary-collision-approximation Monte Carlo code, providing a solid basis for the understanding of the experimental results.The inorganic structure formed at the stage of setting of the geopolymer binder ensures high durability of the material under high-temperature conditions. However, changes in the microstructure of the material are observed. The purpose of the study was to analyze changes in the structure of geopolymer mortar after exposure to high temperatures T = 200, 400, 600, 800, and 1000 °C. Mortars with a binder based solely on fly ash (FA) and mixed in the 11 ratio with a binder containing fly ash and ground granulated blast-furnace **** (GGBFS) were tested. The descriptions of their microstructures were prepared based on digital microscope observations, scanning electron microscope (SEM) observations, EDS (energy dispersive spectroscopy) analysis, and mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP) porosity test results. Changes in the material due to high temperature were observed. The differences in the microstructure of the samples are also visible in the materials that were not exposed to temperature, which was influenced by the composition of the materials. Porosity increases with increasing annealing temperature. The distribution of individual pores also changes. In both materials, the proportion of pores larger than 1000 nm increases with the temperature increase. Moreover, the number of cracks and their width also increases, reaching 20 µm in the case of GGBFS. Furthermore, the color of geopolymers has changed. The objective of this study was to determine the accuracy of the auscultatory and oscillometric blood pressure (BP) measurement technologies of the Novacor Diasys 3 Plus (model number DIP-0001-00) BP monitor, intended for ambulatory BP measurement when used with the recommended Standard Plus (ACC-0210-00), Large Plus (ACC-0211-00) and Paediatric Plus (ACC-0212-00) cuffs.
The auscultatory measurement technology Novacor Diasys 3 Plus (model number DIP-0001-00) was evaluated according to the requirements of the AAMI/ANSI/ISO 81060-22013 standard, including an additional cardiac-stress study, a requirement for ambulatory BP measurement devices. It was also validated according to the requirements of the European Society of Hypertension International Protocol revision 2010. The oscillometric measurement technology was compared to that of the Novacor Diasys 3 (model number DIS-0001-00) according to the equivalence requirements of MEDDEV 2.7/1 rev 4. The protocol requirements for all three studies and the equivalnumber DIS-0001-00) with respect to the oscillometric measurement technology CONCLUSION The Novacor Diasys 3 Plus (model number DIP-0001-00), when used with the recommended cuffs, can be recommended for ambulatory BP measurement in the adult population.
Fetal growth standards (prescriptive charts derived from low-risk pregnancies) are theoretically better tools to monitor fetal growth than conventional references. We examined how modifying chart inclusion criteria influenced the resulting curves.
We summarized estimated fetal weight (EFW) distributions from a hospital's routine 32-week ultrasound in all nonanomalous singleton fetuses (reference) and in those without maternal-fetal conditions affecting fetal growth (standard). We calculated EFWs for the 3rd, 5th, 10th, and 50th percentiles, and the proportion of fetuses each chart classified as small for gestational age.
Of 2309 fetuses in our reference, 690 (30%) met the standard's inclusion criteria. There were no meaningful differences between the EFW distributions of the reference and standard curves (50th percentile 1989 g reference vs. 1968 g standard; 10th percentile 1711 g reference vs. 1710 g standard), or the proportion of small for gestational age fetuses (both 9.9%).

This study aimed to determine the recurrence rate in infantile Blount disease (IBD) in a cohort of patients treated with a tibial osteotomy; and also to identify which factors were associated with recurrence.
We reviewed the records of 20 patients, under the age of 7 years, with IBD (35 involved extremities) treated by proximal tibial realignment osteotomy to physiological valgus at a single institution over 4 years. We then analyzed the data to determine the rate of recurrence and identify the risk factors for recurrence.
The mean age of the included patients was 4.2 years (range, 2 to 6 y). We observed a recurrence rate of 40% (n=14) at a mean follow-up of 42 months (range, 21 to 72 mo). Knee instability [odds ratios OR, 6.6; 95% confidence interval (CI), 2.0-22.2], Langenskiöld stage (OR, 6.3; 95% CI, 2.0-19.4), and severity of the deformity, as measured by medial physeal slope (MPS) (OR, 1.2; 95% CI, 1.1-1.4), were associated with recurrence. On multiple logistic regression analysis, MPS remained the most relevant predictor of recurrence. Receiver operating curve analysis showed that an MPS ≥60 degrees predicted recurrence with a sensitivity of 79% and specificity of 95% (area under the curve=0.925). Postoperatively, increased varus alignment on weight-bearing as measured by the tibio-femoral angle was indicative of knee instability and associated with increased odds of recurrence (OR, 1.5; 95% CI, 1.1-1.9; P=0.004).
We observed a recurrence rate of 40% in children with IBD under 7 years treated with acute correction to a tibio-femoral angle of 5 to 10 degrees valgus through a dome proximal tibial osteotomy. Knee instability, Langenskiöld stage, and MPS were associated with recurrence. Cases with an MPS ≥60 degrees seem to be particularly at risk for recurrence. Further research is needed to validate these findings.

This study aimed to assess the accuracy of the external remote control (ERC) digital readout to the radiographic measurement of magnetically controlled growing rod (MCGR) actuators undergoing lengthenings/expansions and to analyze the impact of patient and spinal deformity factors on the accuracy of the ERC digital readout.
Single-surgeon database at 2 tertiary-care pediatric hospitals identified early-onset scoliosis patients with MCGR constructs. There were 14 males and 16 females with a minimum of 2 lengthenings included in the analysis. ERC readouts at each lengthening were recorded.
Sixty-six MCGR actuators were assessed in 30 patients which underwent 280 lengthenings (mean of 5.7 lengthenings). The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of an interactive web-based breastfeeding monitoring system on breastfeeding self-efficacy and satisfaction among mothers of full-term infants at 1, 2, and 3 months after hospital discharge.
We conducted a secondary data analysis of our two-arm, repeated-measures randomized controlled trial that took place in three Midwestern hospitals. Participants were assigned to either control or intervention groups using random numbers. Of the 141 mother-baby dyads enrolled and randomized, 35 dropped out of the study, leaving 57 mothers in the control group and 49 in the intervention group. Mothers in both groups received care based on the hospital protocol, but mothers in the intervention group were also given access to an interactive web-based breastfeeding monitoring system prior to discharge. Participants were asked to enter breastfeeding data, receive educational messages for 30 days, and complete the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale (BFSE) at 1, 2, and 3 months and the Maternal Breastfeeding Evaluation Scale (MBFES) at 3 months.

The collection of sewage charges fees is far less than the total profit, which has no deterrent effect on enterprises. The marginal impact of public participation in environmental regulation on haze pollution changes from 0.154 to -0.002. Public participation in environmental regulation cannot reduce haze pollution in low quantiles, but can in high quantiles; however its impact becomes insignificant. This study reveals the quantile-based discrepancy in the effect of environmental regulation on haze pollution, and offers a new perspective for research on the effects of environmental regulation.
BMI is a tool to measure maternal nutritional status. Maternal malnutrition is frequently reported health problem especially during child bearing age and effects neonatal birth weight.
To determine relationship between prepregnancy maternal BMI and neonatal birth weight.
Prospective, cross sectional study conducted in Fatima Memorial Hospital, Lahore, Pakistan over a period of 1 year including 2766 mother-neonate pairs. All full term, live born neonates of both gender in early neonatal period (<72 hours) with documented maternal pre-pregnancy and/or first trimester BMI were enrolled. Data analysis using SPSS version 20, was performed.
Data analysis of 2766 mother-neonates pairs showed that there were 32.9% overweight and 16.5% obese mothers. More than two third of all overweight and obese mothers were of age group between 26-35 years. Diabetes mellitus, hypertension, medical illness, uterine malformations and caesarean mode of delivery were more prevalent in obese mothers as 22.8%, 10.1%, 13.2%, 2.6% and 75.4% respectively. Mean birth weight, length and OFC increased with increasing maternal BMI. Comparing for normal weight mothers, underweight mothers were at increased risk of low birth weight (p< 0.01) and low risk of macrosomic neonates (p<0.01). However overweight and obese mothers were comparable to normal weight mothers for delivering macrosomic neonates (p 0.89 and p 0.66 respectively).

Understanding the prevalence and determinants of the precancerous lesions of the cervix among women helps to take an action like vaccination programs, improving screening coverage, and close management and follow-up which could decrease the morbidity and mortality caused by cervical cancer.
The international databases, PubMed/MEDLINE, Web of Science, EMBASE, CINAHL, Google Scholar, Science Direct and Cochrane Library and unpublished reports were systematically searched. Two authors independently extracted all necessary data using a standardized data extraction format. STATA 14 statistical software was employed to analyse the data. A random-effect model was computed to estimate the pooled prevalence of precancerous lesions of the cervix in Ethiopia. Prospective, cross sectional study conducted in Fatima Memorial Hospital, Lahore, Pakistan over a period of 1 year including 2766 mother-neonate pairs. All full term, live born neonates of both gender in early neonatal period (<72 hours) with documented maternal pre-pregnancy and/or first trimester BMI were enrolled. Data analysis using SPSS version 20, was performed. Data analysis of 2766 mother-neonates pairs showed that there were 32.9% overweight and 16.5% obese mothers. More than two third of all overweight and obese mothers were of age group between 26-35 years. Diabetes mellitus, hypertension, medical illness, uterine malformations and caesarean mode of delivery were more prevalent in obese mothers as 22.8%, 10.1%, 13.2%, 2.6% and 75.4% respectively. Mean birth weight, length and OFC increased with increasing maternal BMI. Comparing for normal weight mothers, underweight mothers were at increased risk of low birth weight (p< 0.01) and low risk of macrosomic neonates (p<0.01). However overweight and obese mothers were comparable to normal weight mothers for delivering macrosomic neonates (p 0.89 and p 0.66 respectively). The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of working during the early stage of the COVID-19 pandemic on the well-being of staff at one 600-bed acute hospital in metropolitan Melbourne, Australia. This exploratory study is part of a larger mixed methods survey project, reporting the qualitative data from an on-line survey of clinical staff working at one acute hospital between April 16th and May 13th, 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Interleukin 1β (IL-1β) is an important inducer of cartilage degeneration that can induce an inflammatory cascade reaction in chondrocytes and inhibit the normal biological function of cells. However, it is unclear whether IL-1β is related to METTL3 expression or plays a regulatory role in endplate cartilage degeneration. In this study, we found that the expression level of METTL3 and methylation level of m6A in human endplate cartilage with different degrees of degeneration were significantly different, indicating that the methylation modification of m6A mediated by METTL3 was closely related to the degeneration of human endplate cartilage. Next, through a series of functional experiments, we found that miR-126-5p can play a significant role in IL-1β-induced degeneration of endplate chondrocytes. Moreover, we found that miR-126-5p can inhibit the PI3K/Akt signalling pathway by targeting PIK3R2 gene, leading to the disorder of cell vitality and functional metabolism. To further determine whether METTL3 could regulate miR-126-5p maturation, we first confirmed that METTL3 can bind the key protein underlying pri-miRNA processing, DGCR8. Additionally, when METTL3 expression was inhibited, the miR-126-5p maturation process was blocked. Therefore, we hypothesized that METTL3 can promote cleavage of pri-miR-126-5p and form mature miR-126-5p by combining with DGCR8.Improving cardiorespiratory fitness (CRFit) in cancer patients is crucial to increase survivorship, promote health, and improve quality of life. High-intensity training (HIT) has the potential to increase CRFit, perhaps better than other exercise modalities, but the extant evidence has yet to be fully explored. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effects of HIT on CRFit in cancer patients and survivors and to identify the optimal characteristics of the interventions (eg, cancer type, intervention timing, exercise modality, intervention's duration, and the number of minutes of high-intensity exercise in each session). The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines were followed. A total of 31 articles (2515 participants) were included in the systematic review and 25 in the meta-analyses. CRFit significantly improved with HIT in comparison with a control group (P less then .00001, SMD = 0.44 and a 95% confidence interval from 0.25 to 0.64). The results obtained in the sub-analysis were statistically significant except the comparison with the active group CRFit (P = .13). The results showed that higher effects could be achieved in patients starting to exercise before treatment, interventions longer than eight weeks, programs including exclusively cardiovascular training and with a high-intensity part of session duration of at least 20 minutes.
Sheath blight, caused by Rhizoctonia solani, can be effectively controlled by application of the succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor thifluzamide. Although the risk of resistance to thifluzamide in R. solani had been reported, the thifluzamide-resistance mechanism and the evolution of thifluzamide-resistance in R. solani have not been investigated in detail.

Pemphigus is a chronic autoimmune blistering disease. Pemphigus blisters can damage the natural skin barrier and increase the risk of life-threatening conditions. Colonization of pemphigus wounds with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) prolongs wound healing and increases mortality rate. Assessing MRSA prevalence, types, and toxin and adhesion genes can facilitate the detection of MRSA strains which cause infections, selection of appropriate treatments, and healing of pemphigus wounds. In this cross-sectional study, 118S. aureus isolates were gathered from 118 patients with pemphigus. MRSA detection was performed using the **** gene. Using the polymerase chain reaction method, all MRSA isolates were assessed for the presence of the sea, seb, sec, tst, eta, pvl, hla, hlb, MSCRAMM, and ica genes. Typing and subtyping werere were no significant differences between the two detected SCCmec types and between the two detected dts clusters respecting the prevalence of the encoding genes of virulence factors and MSCRAMMs.

Because nerve injury of muscles around the shoulder can be easily disguised by "trick movements" of the trunk, shoulder dysfunction following brachial plexus injury is difficult to quantify with conventional clinical tools. Thus, to evaluate brachial plexus injury and quantify its biomechanical consequences, we used inertial measurement units, which offer the sensitivity required to measure the trunk's subtle movements.

Recent genome-wide association studies have shown that many single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are associated with breast cancer risk. However, it is often unclear how these SNPs are related to breast cancer. Analysis of associations between SNPs and phenotypes may be important for determining mechanisms of action, including carcinogenesis.
In previous case-control studies, we found three SNPs (rs2046210, rs3757318, and rs3573318) associated with breast cancer risk in Japanese women. Among these SNPs, two (rs2046210 and rs3757318) are located at 6q25.1, in proximity to the estrogen receptor 1 gene (ESR1). Using data from these studies, we examined associations between factors related to breast cancer risk, such as height, weight, and breast density, and the three SNPs in cases and controls. We also investigated whether the SNPs correlated with breast cancer features, such as estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PgR), and human epidermal growth factor receptor type-2 (HER2) status, and clinics in the ESR1 gene region affect phenotypes such as height and breast density.

In human breast, adipose tissue represents up to 80% of the total volume and plays a critical role in mammary gland remodeling. Given the emerging role of obesity in breast cancer growth and development, we explored the relationship between body mass index (BMI), as a proxy of woman's obesity status, and the expression in normal breast tissue from healthy women of a selected panel of genes, known to be involved in mammary gland homeostasis.
Two independent publicly available datasets, composed of 180 specimens of normal breast tissue from reduction mammoplasty were interrogated. Differential gene expression among BMI classes was evaluated by ANOVA, and partial correlation coefficient was used to assay the correlation between genes controlling for BMI.
Despite the differences in microarray platforms and analytical procedures, the two datasets shared a core of 9 genes differentially expressed in BMI classes and significantly correlated with BMI. Four (44%) of these genes belong to the functional class of cytokines and cytokine receptors (IL1R1, IL2RA, IL12A, and IL12RB2). The others belong to the functional class of the epigenetic regulation (MEDAG and SETD7), signal transduction (STAT1), cell adhesion (ITGAV), and enzymatic activity (STS).
Although exploratory, present findings are in agreement with the role of inflammation modulators in the homeostasis of normal breast tissue and the believe that an increase in body adipose tissue may have a potentially dangerous local effect, through the increased expression of inflammation-related genes and the establishment of a low-grade chronic inflammation.

The 4D scans were all registered to a common high-quality foot scan, and a principal component analysis was done on all processed 4D scans. Elastic-net linear regression models were built to predict the principal component scores, which were then inverse transformed into 4D scans. The best performing model was selected with leave-one-out cross-validation. The chosen model predicts foot morphology across stance phase with a root-mean-square error of 5.2 ± 2.0 mm and a mean Hausdorff distance of 25.5 ± 13.4 mm. This study shows that statistical shape modeling can be used to predict dynamic changes in foot morphology across the population. The model can be used to investigate and improve foot-footwear interaction, allowing for better fitting and more comfortable footwear.Pedaling asymmetry is claimed as a factor of influence on injury and performance. However, the evidence is still controversial. Most previous studies determined peak torque asymmetries, which in our understanding does not consider the pattern of movement like torque profiles. Here we demonstrate that asymmetries in pedaling torque at different exercise intensities can be better described when the torque profiles are considered using functional analysis of variance than when only the peak values are analyzed. We compared peak torques and torque curves recorded while cyclists pedaled at submaximal intensities of 60%, 80%, and 95% of the maximal power output and compared data between the preferred and non-preferred legs. ANOVA showed symmetry or rather no difference in the amount of peak torque between legs, regardless of pedaling intensity. FANOVA, on the other hand, revealed significant asymmetries between legs, regardless of cycling intensity, apparently for different sections of the cycle, however, not for peak torque, either. We conclude that pedaling asymmetry cannot be quantified solely by peak torques and considering the analysis of the entire movement cycle can more accurately reflect the biomechanical movement pattern. Therefore, FANOVA data analysis could be an alternative to identify asymmetries. A novel approach as described here might be useful when combining kinetics assessment with other approaches like EMG and kinematics and help to better understand the role of pedaling asymmetries for performance and injury risks.Biodegradable endovascular stents have been claimed to be reliable candidates for implantation devices used in treating cardiovascular diseases since they reduce the long-term side effects on the human biological system. It is aimed in this study to investigate the effect of geometrical parameters on the degradation behavior of poly (lactic acid) stents in term of strut fracture and fragment separation. In this regard, various structural geometry of the PLA stents was simulated in a stenosed artery using finite element method. For predicting the PLA degradation, a computational model was prepared by which the influence of stents design on their radial strength and fracture was investigated. Using a laboratory-scale designed bioreactor, the PLA fibers degradation was evaluated to calibrate the material parameters and verify the simulation method. Simulation results demonstrated that the geometrical parameters, i.e., number of struts, curves radius and stent cells shape, strongly affect the degradation behavior.

The model can be used to investigate and improve foot-footwear interaction, allowing for better fitting and more comfortable footwear.Pedaling asymmetry is claimed as a factor of influence on injury and performance. However, the evidence is still controversial. Most previous studies determined peak torque asymmetries, which in our understanding does not consider the pattern of movement like torque profiles. Here we demonstrate that asymmetries in pedaling torque at different exercise intensities can be better described when the torque profiles are considered using functional analysis of variance than when only the peak values are analyzed. We compared peak torques and torque curves recorded while cyclists pedaled at submaximal intensities of 60%, 80%, and 95% of the maximal power output and compared data between the preferred and non-preferred legs. ANOVA showed symmetry or rather no difference in the amount of peak torque between legs, regardless of pedaling intensity. FANOVA, on the other hand, revealed significant asymmetries between legs, regardless of cycling intensity, apparently for different sections of the cycle, however, not for peak torque, either. We conclude that pedaling asymmetry cannot be quantified solely by peak torques and considering the analysis of the entire movement cycle can more accurately reflect the biomechanical movement pattern. Therefore, FANOVA data analysis could be an alternative to identify asymmetries. A novel approach as described here might be useful when combining kinetics assessment with other approaches like EMG and kinematics and help to better understand the role of pedaling asymmetries for performance and injury risks.Biodegradable endovascular stents have been claimed to be reliable candidates for implantation devices used in treating cardiovascular diseases since they reduce the long-term side effects on the human biological system. In this regard, various structural geometry of the PLA stents was simulated in a stenosed artery using finite element method. For predicting the PLA degradation, a computational model was prepared by which the influence of stents design on their radial strength and fracture was investigated. Using a laboratory-scale designed bioreactor, the PLA fibers degradation was evaluated to calibrate the material parameters and verify the simulation method. We sampled agricultural soils, a WWTP and private households and performed metagenomic analyses to evaluate differences and potential overlaps in bacterial communities and resistomes of different environments. Furthermore, it is explained how several electrical conduction parameters are affected by the carrier transportation path among the clusters.Anal squamous cell carcinoma (ASCC) is a rare malignancy, with most cases associated with human papilloma virus and an increased incidence in immunocompromised patients. Progress in management of ASCC has been limited not only due to its rarity, but also the associated lack of research funding and social stigma. Historically, standard of care for invasive ASCC has been highly morbid surgical resection, requiring a permanent colostomy. Surgery was associated with disease recurrence in approximately half of the patients. However, the use of chemotherapy (5-fluorouracil and mitomycin C) concomitantly with radiation in the 1970s resulted in disease regression, curing a subset of patients and sparing them from morbid surgery. Validation of the use of systemic therapy in prospective trials was not achieved until approximately 20 years later. In this review, advancements and shortcomings in the use of systemic therapy in the management of ASCC will be discussed. Not only will standard-of-care systemic therapies for locoregional and metastatic disease be reviewed, but the evolving role of novel treatment strategies such as immune checkpoint inhibitors, HPV-based vaccines, and molecularly targeted therapies will also be covered. While advances in ASCC treatment have remained largely incremental, with increased biological insight, an increasing number of promising systemic treatment modalities are being explored.To understand the possible lubricant mechanism in ceramic-on-ceramic hip joint prostheses, biochemical reactions of the synovial fluid and the corresponding frictional coefficients were studied. The experiments were performed in a hip joint simulator using the ball-on-cup configuration with ***** and cups made from two types of ceramics, BIOLOX®forte and BIOLOX®delta. Different lubricants, namely albumin, γ-globulin, hyaluronic acid and three model synovial fluids, were studied in the experiments and Raman spectroscopy was used to analyze the biochemical responses of these lubricants at the interface. BIOLOX®delta surface was found less reactive to proteins and model fluid lubricants. In contrast, BIOLOX®forte ball surface has shown chemisorption with both proteins, hyaluronic acid and model fluids imitating total joint replacement and osteoarthritic joint. There was no direct correlation between the measured frictional coefficient and the observed chemical reactions. In summary, the study reveals chemistry of lubricant film formation on ceramic hip implant surfaces with various model synovial fluids and their components.

Autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) is a common problem in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. However, little research explored the extent of anxiety and depressive disorders in parents of children with ASD.
Descriptive questionnaire-based cross-sectional survey of a sample of parents of children with ASD who attended Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Autistic Centre, Ministry of defense, Taif city.
The study included (
= 50) parents. The prevalence of mild depression was 30%, whereas the prevalence of moderately severe depression was 68%. Increased ASD severity level was associated with a significant impact on the PHQ-9 total score (level II was 1.293 times level I to have an increased PHQ-9 score, and level III was 1.530 times level I to have an increased PHQ-9 score). Economic status did not significantly alter depressive symptoms.
ASD diagnosis in Saudi children is associated with high parental depressive prevalence. However, this result could be bidirectional. Stigma, future-related worry, and stress could medngs that neither parental gender nor child gender exert any substantial effect on predictability of depressive symptoms among parents of children with ASD. Comprehensive therapeutic packages for children with ASD should include treatment of emotional problems arising out of carer burden among their parents. Screening for parental emotional problems should be routine in autism treatment facilities.
The aim of this study was to explore teachers' knowledge about the ADHD, its origin, causes, and identify the main demographic variables affecting their knowledge.
The study was conducted among male school teachers of ten government primary schools that are found in different regions of Riyadh city, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We used a stratified random sampling technique to collect our sample with inclusion criteria of being male teachers who currently working in male government primary school and are directly involved on teaching of students. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software statistical program version 21.
We received 400 response for our questionnaire, mostly younger than 40 years old. Most of teachers in this sample had a bachelor's degree, only 6% had diploma while 8% had a higher degree, while most of them had experience more than 5 years in teaching (74.2%). only 8%of teachers admitted that they had not heard about ADHD before. 78% of teachers had read about ADHD at least once beurther needing for courses to enhance this knowledge.

The aim of the study is to determine risk factors, fetal and maternal outcome in pregnancy complicated by placenta previa.
This is descriptive cross-sectional study in women diagnosed with placenta previa at Dongola maternity hospital, Sudan from December 2018 to June 2019.
There were 3,674 deliveries and 52 cases of placenta previa during the study period with prevalence of 1.4%. The average age of the patients was 34.8 years and most of them were above 35 years (53.8%), and (63.5%) were para 3 and more. Other identified risk factors included previous cesarean section (69.1%), previous uterine evacuation (13.5%), and assisted reproductive technique (5.8%). Maternal complications were hemorrhage needing blood transfusion (40.4%), cesarean hysterectomy (21.2%), and bladder injury (3.8%), but (34.6%) were with good outcome and no maternal death. NICU admission with RDS (25%), prematurity (25%), and death (5.8%) were the fetal complications, while in (44.2%) fetal outcome was good.

Osteoporosis is a skeletal disorder characterized by loss of bone mineral density, deterioration of bone structure, bone fragility, and it is associated with high risk of fractures. The prevalence of osteoporosis among Saudis is estimated to be 34% in females and 30.7% in males. The aim of this study was to know the level of knowledge about osteoporosis among Saudi females at Security Forces Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study conducted between January 2019 and January 2020. We used the osteoporosis knowledge assessment tool (OKAT) for data collection. The survey assessed the understanding of symptoms and fracture risk, risk factors, treatment availability and preventive factors for osteoporosis.
The overall knowledge of our 376 participants was good with a mean score of (66%). Participants had more knowledge about the symptoms and fracture risk and the preventive factors such as physical activity and diet compared to the other subscales of the OKAT. There was a significant difference between the knowledge of younger and older females (>40 yrs.), where younger females had lower scores on the OKAT.
This study showed that knowledge about osteoporosis was good among females attending the family medicine clinics in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. However, younger females were less knowledgeable, which means that more effort should be made to increase the awareness about osteoporosis especially among the younger females.

Autistic spectrum disorder (ASD) is a common problem in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. However, little research explored the extent of anxiety and depressive disorders in parents of children with ASD. Descriptive questionnaire-based cross-sectional survey of a sample of parents of children with ASD who attended Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Autistic Centre, Ministry of defense, Taif city. The study included ( = 50) parents. The prevalence of mild depression was 30%, whereas the prevalence of moderately severe depression was 68%. Increased ASD severity level was associated with a significant impact on the PHQ-9 total score (level II was 1.293 times level I to have an increased PHQ-9 score, and level III was 1.530 times level I to have an increased PHQ-9 score). Economic status did not significantly alter depressive symptoms. ASD diagnosis in Saudi children is associated with high parental depressive prevalence. However, this result could be bidirectional. Stigma, future-related worry, and stress could medngs that neither parental gender nor child gender exert any substantial effect on predictability of depressive symptoms among parents of children with ASD. Comprehensive therapeutic packages for children with ASD should include treatment of emotional problems arising out of carer burden among their parents. The aim of this study was to explore teachers' knowledge about the ADHD, its origin, causes, and identify the main demographic variables affecting their knowledge. The study was conducted among male school teachers of ten government primary schools that are found in different regions of Riyadh city, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We used a stratified random sampling technique to collect our sample with inclusion criteria of being male teachers who currently working in male government primary school and are directly involved on teaching of students. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software statistical program version 21. We received 400 response for our questionnaire, mostly younger than 40 years old. Most of teachers in this sample had a bachelor's degree, only 6% had diploma while 8% had a higher degree, while most of them had experience more than 5 years in teaching (74.2%). only 8%of teachers admitted that they had not heard about ADHD before. 78% of teachers had read about ADHD at least once beurther needing for courses to enhance this knowledge. The horticultural production of **** peppers generates large quantities of residual biomass. Abiotic stress stimulates the production of protective flavonoids, so the deliberate application of stress to the plants after fruit harvest could provide a strategy to valorize horticultural residuals by increasing flavonoid concentrations, facilitating their industrial extraction. Here we exposed two Capsicum cultivars, a chilli and a **** pepper, to cold and salt stress and combinations thereof to determine their valorization potential. Noninvasive image-based phenotyping and multiparametric fluorescence measurements indicated that all stress treatments inhibited plant growth and reduced the leaf chlorophyll fluorescence index, with the chilli cultivar showing greater sensitivity. The fluorescence-based FLAV index allowed the noninvasive assessment of foliar luteolin glycosides. High-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS) analysis showed that moderate cold increased the levels of two foliar antioxidant luteolin glycosides in both cultivars, with **** pepper containing the highest amounts (induced to maximum 5.5 mg g-1 DW cynaroside and 37.0 mg g-1 DW graveobioside A) after combined stress treatment. The sought-after triplet acyl-alkyl radical pairs could be studied for the first time in the solid state by taking advantage of the efficient triplet excited state α-cleavage reactions of 1,1-diphenylmethyl ketones and the slow rate of CO loss from the acyl radicals, which would have to generate highly unstable phenyl and primary alkyl radicals or relatively unstable secondary and tertiary alkyl radicals. With the loss of CO prevented, the lifetime of the triplet acyl-alkyl radical pair intermediates is determined by intersystem crossing to the singlet radical pair state, which is followed by immediate bond formation to the ground state starting ketone. Experimental results revealed biexponential kinetics with long-lived components that account for ca. 87-92% of the transient population and lifetimes that extend to the range of 53-63 μs, the longest reported so far for this type of radical pair.
