Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a common chronic disease of the upper gastrointestinal tract with long course of the disease and followed by different symptoms significantly reducing quality of life (QoL) in pts. Assessment of QoL in pts with GERD may be of value for comprehensive evaluation of treatment effect as well as for monitoring of pts during treatment course in a real clinical practice.

GERD-HRQL questionnaire (V. Velanovich, USA) consists of 11 items 10 items for assessment of the most frequent symptoms/problems related with QoL in pts with GERD and 1 item for assessment of patient-reported global satisfaction with health condition.
In accordance with international guidelines, the new language version of the tool may be used in research and clinical practice after cross cultural adaptation, linguistic validation and psychometric testing. This papn of GERD-HRQL for the use in pts with GERD in Russia was developed. Consensus level 1 was reached for all the terms of AP and for 4out of 7 terms to describe the results of AS (3 out of 7 terms were of moderate agreement, C2). The need for the use of predefined abbreviations of terms for AS and AP was of a low rate of consensus (71.4%). The article describes a clinical case of POEMS-syndrome in a 53-year-old man, which illustrates the difficulties associated with the timely recognition of this unusual disease.Here we provide a review of the literature and a description of our own clinical case. The patient was a 32-year-old woman who had been infected with HIV for 6 years without antiretroviral therapy. The test results showed CD4 87 cells/l, viral load 3750 copies/ml. Normochromic normocytic anemia and reticulocytopenia developed soon. In the myelogram, all erythroblasts were 0.5%. The viral load of parvovirus B19 DNA according to PCR was more than 9 million IU/ml. Pure red cell aplasia associated with parvovirus B19 was diagnosed. We started antiretroviral therapy with efavirenz, lamevudine and tenofovir. In addition to blood transfusions, we administered intravenous donor immunoglobulin with a dose increase from 5000 mg to 20 000 mg per day. After discontinuing of intravenous immunoglobulins, the laboratory test results were stable over the next 5 months hemoglobin was more than 115 g/L, reticulocytes more than 3%, in the myelogram all erythroblasts were 21%. However, the elimination of parvovirus B19 wasnt achieved. The maximum decrease in viral load for parvovirus B19 was down to 720 IU/ml. A typical feature of the case was the lack of pure red cell aplasia of the bone marrow with the existing viral load of parvovirus B19. HIV infection progressed 44 cells/l, viral load not determined. The case ended lethally.Primary myelofibrosis is a myeloproliferative neoplasm that occurs de novo, characterized by clonal proliferation of stem cells, abnormal expression of cytokines, bone marrow fibrosis, hepatosplenomegaly as a result of extramedullary hematopoiesis, symptoms of tumor intoxication, cachexemia, peripheral blood leukoerythroblastosis, leukemic progression and low survival. Allogenic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is the only method that gives a chance for a cure. The role of mutations in a number of genes in the early identification of candidates for allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is being actively studied. The article describes the clinical case of the detection ofASXL1gene mutations in a patient with prefibrous primary myelofibrosis. The diagnosis was established on the basis of WHO criteria 2016.

This attrition was absent in age-matched mutation carriers who did not have MDS/AML. We tested if adult short telomere patients without MDS/AML also had evidence of clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP)-related mutations and found 30% were affected. These patients also primarily suffered morbidity from pulmonary fibrosis during followup. Our data show the Mendelian short telomere syndromes are associated with a relatively narrow cancer spectrum, primarily MDS and AML. They suggest short telomere length is sufficient to drive premature age-related clonal hematopoiesis in these inherited disorders. H2S interacts with the ROS-mediated oxidative stress response network at multiple levels, including the regulation of the ROS-processing systems by transcriptional or post-translational modifications. H2S-ROS crosstalk also involves other interacting factors, including nitric oxide, and can affect key cellular processes like autophagy. While H2S often functions to prevent ROS accumulation, it can also act synergistically with ROS signals in processes such as stomatal closure. In this review, we summarize the mechanisms of H2S action and the multifaceted roles of this molecule in plant stress responses. Emphasis is placed on the interactions between H2S, ROS and the redox signaling network that is crucial for plant defence against environmental threats. © The Author(s) 2020. Yet, the vast majority of squamate species lack heteromorphic sex chromosomes. Cataloguing the sex chromosome systems of species lacking easily identifiable, heteromorphic sex chromosomes, therefore, is essential before we are to fully understand the evolution of vertebrate sex chromosomes. Here, we use restriction-site associated DNA sequencing (RADseq) to classify the sex chromosome system of the granite night lizard, Xantusia henshawi. RADseq is an effective alternative to traditional cytogenetic methods for determining a species' sex chromosome system (i.e. XX/XY or ZZ/ZW), particularly in taxa with non-differentiated sex chromosomes. Although many xantusiid lineages have been karyotyped, none possess heteromorphic sex chromosomes. We identified a ZZ/ZW sex chromosome system in X. henshawi-the first such data for this family. Furthermore, we report that the X. henshawi sex chromosome contains fragments of genes found on Gallus gallus chromosomes 7, 12, and 18 (which are homologous to Anolis carolinensis chromosome 2), the first vertebrate sex chromosomes to utilize this linkage group. © The American Genetic Association 2020. Overexpression (OE) or induced expression (IE) of poplar bZIP53 in poplar lines resulted in inhibition of AR growth, while heterologous OE of bZIP53 in Arabidopsis thaliana resulted in a similar phenotype. Using RNA-Seq and RT-qPCR assays, IAA4-1 and IAA4-2 were predicted to be downstream genes that were regulated by bZIP53. With experiments for testing protein-DNA interactions, including a yeast one hybrid (Y1H) assay, electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA), dual luciferase reporter assay and GUS coexpression assay, IAA4-1/2 were further proven to be the genes that are directly regulated by bZIP53. The IE IAA4-1/2 transgenic poplar lines also showed inhibited AR growth. Additionally, both poplar bZIP53 and IAA4-1/2 showed a response to salt stress. CMV cell-mediated immunity (CMV-CMI) as determined by a peptide-based enzyme-linked immunospot (ELISPOT) CMV assay may identify patients at risk for clinically significant CMV infection (CS-CMVi). METHODS The CS-CMVi was defined as CMV viremia and/or disease necessitating antiviral therapy. CMV-CMI was characterized as high when the intermediate-early 1 (IE-1) antigen spot counts (SPCs) were >100 (cutoff 1) or when the IE-1 and phosphoprotein 65 antigen SPCs were both >100 SPCs per 250 000 cells (cutoff 2), and a low CMV-CMI when SPCs were below these thresholds. In this prospective multicenter study, we evaluated CMV-CMI every 2 weeks from the pretransplant period until 6 months posttransplantation in 241 allo-HCT recipients with positive CMV serostatus. The primary endpoint was CS-CMVi occurring within 2 weeks of the last measurement of CMV-CMI. RESULTS CS-CMVi occurred in 70 allo-HCT recipients (29%). CMV-CMI was low in patients who experienced CS-CMVi (94%), whereas those who had a high CMV-CMI were less likely to have CS-CMVi (P less then .0001). Patients with CS-CMVi had higher all-cause mortality (P = .007), especially those with low CMV-CMI (P = .035). On multivariable analysis, CMV-CMI, sex, race, antithymocyte globulin, and steroid use were independent predictors of CS-CMVi, and the time from transplant to engraftment was the only predictor of mortality. CONCLUSIONS Measurement of CMV-CMI using a novel ELISPOT assay would be useful clinically to monitor allo-HCT recipients and distinguish between those at risk of developing CS-CMVi and requiring antiviral prophylaxis or therapy and those who are protected. © The Author(s) 2020. Consistently, Cyto-c protein expression in cytoplasm was also up-regulated by GA. Moreover, the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) was significantly induced by GA. The activation of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3/janus kinase 2 (Stat3/JAK2) signaling pathway was inhibited by GA treatment. Intriguingly, blocking Stat3/JAK2 activation could further promote apoptosis and reduce cell viability induced by GA. However, GA-induced cell death was clearly abolished by ROS scavenger NAC, while the activation of Stat3/JAK2 signaling was restored by NAC. In vivo, GA showed effective role in reducing gastric tumor growth. Together, the findings here indicated that GA could be considered as an effective therapeutic candidate against human gastric cancer progression in future. In the present study, KIF2A was overexpressed in human GC and predicted poor prognosis according to the results of GEPIA analysis. KIF2A was also observed to be upregulated in 82 GC samples compared with paired pericarcinoma tissues. Its overexpression was associated with tumor metastasis (P = 0.047) and Ⅲ stage GC (P = 0.0267). The mRNA and protein expression levels of KIF2A were significantly suppressed in KIF2A specific siRNA transfected GC cells compared with the wild-type and negative control (NC) siRNA transfected cells. Furthermore, the effects of KIF2A on the growth, migration, invasion, and apoptosis of GC cell were evaluated in vitro and the underlying mechanisms were explored. The aim of this study was to explore the relationship of existential spirituality to identity processing, religious coping and mental and general health among younger and older aged women in Norway. Participant's included 120 women aged 31-91 who took part in a postal survey. Results showed that both accommodative and balancing identity processes were associated with existential well -being among both the younger and older aged. Among the younger - aged, mental health was also significantly associated with existential well-being, Moreover, among the older aged, religious coping in the form of discontent, was found to be associated with existential well-being.
The standard therapies for autoimmune cytopenias, including idiopathic thrombocytopenia (ITP), autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) and Evans syndrome (ES), are corticosteroids and intravenous immunoglobulin G. However, the recurrence rate is high.
Data from 80 patients with ITP, AIHA and ES who were refractory to corticosteroids/relapsed and were treated with tacrolimus from January 2018 to January 2019 in Peking Union Medical Colleague Hospital were reviewed retrospectively.
There were 24 males and 56 females, with a median age of 43 (14-81) years, including 66 with ITP, 11 with AIHA and 3 with ES. The median disease duration before tacrolimus was 16 (2-432) months. The complete response (CR) rates were 30.3%, 63.6% and 0%; the overall response (OR) rates were 63.6%, 72.7% and 66.7% for ITP, AIHA and ES, respectively; and the median time to response was 3 (2-10) months. In a median of 18 (10-24) months of follow-up time, 21.4% of ITP patients relapsed at a median time of 7 months. No relapse was found for patients with AIHA and ES. Side effects occurred in 16.3% of patients, including elevated creatinine (
= 3, 3.8%), gastrointestinal reactions (
= 3, 3.8%), and pulmonary infection (
= 2, 2.5%), and resulted in 3 patients stopping tacrolimus. The OR rate was found to be related with age (

The National Health Mission (NHM), the largest ever publicly funded health programme worldwide, used over half of the national health budget in India and primarily aimed to improve maternal and child health in the country. Though large scale public health investment has improved the health care utilization and health outcomes across states and socio-economic groupsin India, little is known on the equity concern of NHM. In this context, this paper examines the utilization pattern and net benefit of public subsidy for institutional delivery by the level of care in India.
Data from the most recent round of the National Family Health Survey (NFHS 4), conducted during 2015-16, was used in the study. A total of 148,645 last birth delivered in a health centre during the 5 years preceding the survey were used for the analyses. Out-of-pocket (OOP) payment on delivery care was taken as the dependent variable and was analysed by primary care and secondary level of care. Benefits Incidence Analysis (BIA), descriptive centres is pro-poor in India. Improving the quality of service in primary health centres is recommended to increase utilisation and reduce OOP payment for health care in India.

The Cre-loxP recombination system was applied to reduce the genome and obtain the target chassis strain. A prophage-related fragment (PRF; 19,739bp) in the L. lactis N8 genome was deleted, and the mutant strain L. lactis N8-1 was chosen for multi-stress tolerance studies. Nisin immunity of L. lactis N8-1 was increased to 6500IU/mL, which was 44.44% higher than that of the wild-type L. lactis N8 (4500IU/mL). The survival rates of L. lactis N8-1 treated with lysozyme for 2h and lactic acid for 1h were 1000- and 10,000-fold higher than that of the wild-type strain, respectively. A possible case of ulcerative colitis (UC) developed during treatment with ixekizumab is reported. Ixekizumab is a human monoclonal antibody approved for chronic plaque psoriasis that works by blocking interleukin-17 (IL-17). Cytoquines, such as IL-17, may be involved in the pathophysiology of psoriasis and inflammatory bowel diseases. We describe the case of a 76-year-old woman who presented with an episode of acute self-limited colitis after receiving ten doses of ixekizumab. It was resolved after treatment withdrawal. A re-challenge was done after 3 months and symptoms returned. Colonoscopy results confirmed the diagnosis of UC. Symptoms remitted after drug discontinuation and treatment with corticosteroids. Four months after stopping ixekizumab, she remains asymptomatic and she is being treated with guselkumab with adequate response. There may be a causal relationship between the use of ustekinumab and BP. This association should be taken into account by physicians when prescribing and reviewing drug therapies.

The mean surface bioburdens of non-disinfected ampoules and vials taken straight from the original boxes are 2.4 and 5.01 cfu (total immersion; n = 20), and 0.97 and 0.94 cfu (contact plates; n = 60). The mean surface bioburdens of ampules and vials after disinfection by wiping are 1.15 and 7.50 cfu (total immersion; n = 20), and 0.12 and 0.10 cfu (contact plates; n = 60). The high number of cfu on vials (total immersion) indicate hidden cfu around the neck not removable by wiping and not detected by contact plates. Total immersion needs special laboratory facilities and is expensive (about €50 a sample). Therefore, it is less appropriate for use in routine monitoring. However, because of the high recovery, it is the method of choice for the validation of the disinfection procedure. Surface bioburden determination by contact plates is relatively simple. Non-flat surfaces cannot be reached, but the recovery from the touched flat part of the surface is high (around 50%). The recovery from swabs is low (around 10%). Another disadvantage of swabs is the laboratory work after sampling. We therefore advise contact plates for routine monitoring. To get a reliable value of the mean surface bioburden at least 30 samples need to be examined.

We have investigated the incidence of cases evaluated as 'risky for OHSS' by secondary efficacy endpoints (exogenous gonadotrophin exposure, luteinising hormone and progesterone values, oocyte yield, eggs with normal maturation). To describe the association between exposure to different antidepressant drugs and hip fracture in an elderly Mediterranean population.
Cases were all patients aged 50-95 years admitted to the emergency room of our hospital with hip fracture not related to a high intensity trauma during 2010. For each case, four controls were identified from primary care electronic medical records matched by age (±3 years), gender, date of consultation at the primary care centre (±1 month) and primary care centre. Pharmacological treatments received within the previous 5 years were retrieved from the prescription records. Crude and adjusted risks associated with exposures were calculated by conditional logistic regression. ORs were adjusted by matching variables and by significant risk factors identified in the bivariate analysis (prescription of ≥4 drugs, osteoporosis, diabetes mellitus and previous fracture).

A third of Aotearoa New Zealand's increasingly ageing population resides in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. This most populous cosmopolitan urban area in the country is also home to the largest Polynesian population of any global city. Sprawling across a North Island isthmus inclusive of Hauraki Gulf islands, 70% of the city region is rural, whilst almost 90% of the ethnically diverse residents live in urban areas. Members of Auckland Council's Seniors Advisory Panel (SAP) advocated for, and in 2018 secured unanimous support from the governing body to resource an Age-friendly City (AFC) Project. This case study inquiry applied bricolage methodology to provide diverse contextual perspectives of this unique Polynesian setting, prior to exploring interview narratives of three SAP members who served two consecutive terms (six years) as AFC advocates. Weaving insights gleaned from their interview transcripts responding to relational leadership prompts about their age-friendly advocacy with the findings from the council's AFC Community Engagement report highlighted the achievements and challenges of the evolving AFC Project. In this work, an electrospun bilayer membrane for enhancing fouling and wetting resistance has been developed for treating hydraulic fracture-produced water (PW) by MD. These PWs can contain over 200,000 ppm total dissolved solids, organic compounds and surfactants. The membrane consists of an omniphobic surface that faces the permeate stream and a hydrophilic surface that faces the feed stream. The omniphobic surface was decorated by growing nanoparticles, followed by silanization to lower the surface energy. An epoxied zwitterionic polymer was grafted onto the membrane surface that faces the feed stream to form a tight antifouling hydration layer. The membrane was challenged with an aqueous NaCl solution containing sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), an ampholyte and crude oil. In the presence of SDS and crude oil, the membrane was stable and displayed salt rejection (>99.9%). This most populous cosmopolitan urban area in the country is also home to the largest Polynesian population of any global city. Sprawling across a North Island isthmus inclusive of Hauraki Gulf islands, 70% of the city region is rural, whilst almost 90% of the ethnically diverse residents live in urban areas. Members of Auckland Council's Seniors Advisory Panel (SAP) advocated for, and in 2018 secured unanimous support from the governing body to resource an Age-friendly City (AFC) Project. This case study inquiry applied bricolage methodology to provide diverse contextual perspectives of this unique Polynesian setting, prior to exploring interview narratives of three SAP members who served two consecutive terms (six years) as AFC advocates. Weaving insights gleaned from their interview transcripts responding to relational leadership prompts about their age-friendly advocacy with the findings from the council's AFC Community Engagement report highlighted the achievements and challenges of the evolving AFC Project. Service-learning recommendations include co-developing (1) A sustainable co-governance framework for an independent steering group that embodies the values and principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi to enable empowered active ageing for all residents; (2) A succession plan that enables the timely transfer of knowledge and skills to empower incoming SAP members.β3-adrenoreceptor (β3-AR), a G-protein coupled receptor, has peculiar regulatory properties in response to oxygen and widespread localization. β3-AR is expressed in the most frequent neoplasms, also occurring in pregnant women, and its blockade reduces tumor growth, indicating β3-AR-blockers as a promising alternative to antineoplastic drugs during pregnancy. However, β3-AR involvement in prenatal morphogenesis and the consequences of its blockade for the fetus remain unknown. In this study, after the demonstrated expression of β3-AR in endothelial and smooth muscle cells of ductus arteriosus (DA), C57BL/6 pregnant mice were acutely treated at 18.5 of gestational day (GD) with indomethacin or with the selective β3-AR antagonist SR59230A, or chronically exposed to SR59230A from 15.5 to 18.5 GD. Six hours after the last treatment, fetuses were collected. Furthermore, newborn mice were treated straight after birth with BRL37344, a β3-AR agonist, and sacrificed after 7 h. SR59230A, at the doses demonstrated effective in reducing cancer progression (10 and 20 mg/kg) in acute and chronic mode, did not induce fetal DA constriction and did not impair the DA ability to close after birth, whereas at the highest dose (40 mg/kg), it was shown to cause DA constriction and preterm-delivery. BRL37344 administered immediately after birth did not alter the physiological DA closure.Simultaneous fouling and pore wetting of the membrane during membrane distillation (MD) is a major concern. In this work, an electrospun bilayer membrane for enhancing fouling and wetting resistance has been developed for treating hydraulic fracture-produced water (PW) by MD. These PWs can contain over 200,000 ppm total dissolved solids, organic compounds and surfactants. The membrane consists of an omniphobic surface that faces the permeate stream and a hydrophilic surface that faces the feed stream. The omniphobic surface was decorated by growing nanoparticles, followed by silanization to lower the surface energy. An epoxied zwitterionic polymer was grafted onto the membrane surface that faces the feed stream to form a tight antifouling hydration layer. The membrane was challenged with an aqueous NaCl solution containing sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), an ampholyte and crude oil. In the presence of SDS and crude oil, the membrane was stable and displayed salt rejection (>99.9%). Further, the decrease was much less than the base polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) electrospun membrane. The membranes were also challenged with actual PW. Our results highlight the importance of tuning the properties of the membrane surface that faces the feed and permeate streams in order to maximize membrane stability, flux and salt rejection.Background Improving balance-related ability is an important goal in stroke rehabilitation. The present study explored resting state FC (rsFC) of thalamus and its associations with trauma-related features. The included subjects were North Korean refugees with PTSD (n = 23), trauma-exposed North Korean refugees without PTSD (trauma-exposed control Techn Ology group, n = 22), and South Korean healthy controls (HCs) without traumatic experiences (HC group, n = 40). All participants underwent psychiatric evaluation and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) procedures using the bilateral thalamus as seeds. In the TEC group, the negative rsFC between each thalamus and its contralateral postcentral cortex was stronger relative to the PTSD and HC groups, while positive rsFC between the left thalamus and left precentral cortex was stronger in the HC group compared to the PTSD and TEC groups. Thalamo-postcentral rsFC was positively correlated with the CAPS total score in the TEC group, and with the number of traumatic experiences in the PTSD group. The present study identified the difference of thalamic rsFC alterations among traumatized refugees and HCs. Autophagy blockade using a chemical inhibitor repressed YAP degradation under laminar flow. Conversely, the induction of autophagy under disturbed flow partially antagonized the nuclear import and transcriptional activation of YAP. In parallel, laminar flow led to the increased expression of SIRT1 protein, a NAD+-dependent deacetylase. Further investigation showed that SIRT1-mediated YAP deacetylation. The forced expression of SIRT1 under disturbed flow effectively attenuated YAP activation and nuclear accumulation, thereby downregulating the expression of pro-inflammatory genes. In atheroprone vessels of **** receiving rapamycin to induce autophagy, the enhanced expression of SIRT1 was observed together with YAP repression. To this end, temporal series of pictures of the network dynamics are produced, starting from germinating ascospores and ending when the network reaches a few centimeters width, with a typical image resolution of several micrometers. The completely automated image reconstruction steps allow an easy post-processing and a quantitative analysis of the dynamics. The main features of the evolution of the hyphal network, such as the total length L of the mycelium, the number of "nodes" (or crossing points) N and the number of apexes A, can then be precisely quantified. Beyond these main features, the determination of the distribution of the intra-thallus surfaces (Si) and the statistical analysis of some local measures of N, A and L give new insights on the dynamics of expanding fungal networks. Based on these results, we now aim at developing robust and versatile discrete/continuous mathematical models to further understand the key mechanisms driving the development of the fungus thallus.Low doses of ionizing radiation (LDIR) activate endothelial cells inducing angiogenesis. The proposed diagnostic framework is evaluated on several datasets and the experimental results are compared with several state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques to validate the superiority of the proposed model under inconsistent working conditions.AA6111 aluminum automotive body-sheet alloy has been formulated from 100% Taint Tabor scrap aluminum. Direct chill casting with and without high shear melt conditioning (HSMC) was used to produce the AA6111 alloy billets. Both homogenized and non-homogenized billets were extruded into sheets. The optical micrographs of the melt conditioned direct chill (**-DC) samples showed refined equiaxed grains in comparison to direct chill (DC) cast and direct chill grain refined (DC-GR) samples. Optical metallography showed extensive peripheral coarse grain (PCG) for the DC, DC-GR and **-DC planks extruded from the homogenized standard AA6111 billets while planks extruded from modified AA6111 billets (with recrystallization inhibitors) showed thin PCG band. The co-addition of recrystallization inhibitors Mn, Zr, and Cr with elimination of the billet homogenization step had a favorable impact on the microstructure of the AA6111 alloy following the extrusion process where a fibrous grain structure was retained across the whole section of the planks. The mechanical properties of as-cast planks extruded from non-homogenized billets were similar to those extruded from homogenized billets. This paper first reviews the steps involved in conducting the interconversion between creep compliance and relaxation modulus in the time domain, illustrating that the relaxation modulus can be obtained from the creep compliance. This enables the determination of the relaxation modulus from the results of creep tests, which can be easily performed in pneumatic equipment or simple compression devices and are less costly than direct relaxation tests. Some existing methods of interconversion between the creep compliance and the relaxation modulus for linear viscoelastic materials are also presented. Then, a new approximate interconversion scheme is introduced using a convenient Laplace transform and an approximated Gamma function to convert the measured creep compliance to the relaxation modulus. Some existing methods of interconversion between the creep compliance and the relaxation modulus for linear viscoelastic materials are also presented. Then, a new approximate interconversion scheme is introduced using a convenient Laplace transform and an approximated Gamma function to convert the measured creep compliance to the relaxation modulus. To demonstrate the accuracy of the fittings obtained with the method proposed, as well as its ease of implementation and general applicability, different experimental data from the literature are used.Electrical energy storage systems (EESSs) with high energy density and power density are essential for the effective miniaturization of future electronic devices. Among different EESSs available in the market, dielectric capacitors relying on swift electronic and ionic polarization-based mechanisms to store and deliver energy already demonstrate high power densities. However, different intrinsic and extrinsic contributions to energy dissipations prevent ceramic-based dielectric capacitors from reaching high recoverable energy density levels. Interestingly, relaxor ferroelectric-based dielectric capacitors, because of their low remnant polarization, show relatively high energy density and thus display great potential for applications requiring high energy density properties.
