The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) global pandemic is associated with an increased incidence of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) secondary to large vessel occlusion (LVO). The treatment of these patients poses unique and significant challenges to health care providers requiring changes in existing protocols.
A 54-year-old COVID-19 positive patient developed sudden onset left hemiparesis secondary to an acute right middle cerebral artery occlusion (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score = 11). Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) was performed under a new protocol specifically designed to maximize protective measures for the team involved in the care of the patient. Mechanical Thrombectomy was performed successfully under general anesthesia resulting in TICI 3 recanalization. With regards to time metrics, time from door to reperfusion was 60 mins. The 24-h NIHSS score decreased to 2. Patient was discharged after 19 days after improvement of her pulmonary status with modified Rankin Scale = 1.

In this study, the articles published in national and international databases of SID, MagIran, IranMedex, IranDoc, Cochrane, Embase, Science Direct, Scopus, PubMed, and Web of Science (ISI) were searched to find electronically published studies between 2010 and 2019. In this meta-analysis and systematic review, 19 articles were eligible for inclusion in the study. The standardized mean difference was obtained in examining of unilateral laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis (before intervention 2.8 ± 0.11, and after 3 months 2.05 ± 0.13; and before intervention 3.1 ± 0.46 and after 6 months 2.08 ± 0.31), and in examining bilateral laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis examination (before intervention 2.0 ± 08.08, and after 3 months 1.1 ± 0.1; and before intervention 2.9 ± 0.23 and after 6 months 1.4 ± 0.19).

A retrospective cohort study was conducted on ESRD patients who began renal replacement treatment from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2017 in Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine. Propensity scoring match was applied to balance the baseline conditions and multivariate Cox regression analysis to compare the mortality between HD and PD patients, and evaluated the correlation between mortality and various baseline characteristics.
A total of 436 HD patients and 501 PD patients were included in this study, and PD patients had better survival than HD patients, but the difference was not statistically significant. For younger ESRD patients (≤60-year-old), the overall survival of PD was better than that of HD, but HD was associated with a lower risk of death in older patients (> 70-year-old).

Before, during, and after LTP induction, we continuously recorded extracellular lactate concentrations within the dentate gyrus to assess how changes in synaptic strength alter local glycolytic activity. Moreover, this increased effect of mouth recognition with anodal rTPJ HD-tDCS was shown in both happy and fearful faces, but no remarkable difference was found in neutral faces. The utilization of the direct anterior approach (DAA) for total hip arthroplasty (THA) continues to markedly increase. Despite proposed advantages, there are limited data regarding outcomes of staged bilateral THA via 2 different approaches in the same patient. The purpose of this study was to elucidate patient perspective on the THA approach in a crossover cohort of patients who underwent consecutive THAs via the posterolateral approach (PLA) followed by a contralateral DAA.
A retrospective chart review and telephone interview were performed on 37 patients who underwent both THA approaches by a single surgeon from 2009 to 2019. Perioperative outcomes, complications/reoperations, and the patient-preferred approach were collected. The mean clinical follow-up was 105 and 44 months after PLA and DAA, respectively.
After DAA THA, patients demonstrated lower postoperative day 1 visual analog scale pain scores (1.8 vs 2.9,
= .016) and ambulation (239 feet vs 31 feet,
< .001). The length of stay was significantly less (
< .001) for the DAA (1.9 days) compared with the PLA (3.1 days). There were no major complications or reoperations in either cohort. Most patients (26/37, 70%) preferred the DAA and stated that it was easier to recover from (30/37, 81%).

The robotic arm has recently been introduced to enhance implant positioning during surgery and to achieve more predictable leg length and offset goals. In this article, we illustrate the case of a patient who presented with a leg length discrepancy associated with significant spinopelvic obliquity. We show the use of the robotic arm total hip application to improve her pelvic obliquity and limb length discrepancy. This approach helped with the patient's symptoms and gait as well as her radiographic pelvic alignment.
Total hip arthroplasty (THA) has demonstrated excellent results regardless of the surgical approach. However, the approach used may be a factor in final positioning of implants. We hypothesized that the direct anterior approach (DAA) with fluoroscopy would be associated with more anatomic implant positioning than the posterior approach (PA).

At the final follow-up, hip ROM, postoperative complications, and modified Harris Hip scores were obtained.
Seventy-nine patients underwent THA because of degenerative joint disease in the setting of developmental dysplasia of the hip. There were 56 females and 23 males with a mean age of 45 years (range 26-64 years). We found that components were placed according to the preoperative plan, that there was an improvement in the modified Harris hip score from 29 to 86 (
< .001), an improvement in the hip ROM (flexion improvement from 66° to 91°,
< .0001), and a correction of leg length discrepancy (17.1 vs 4 mm,
< .0002). There were no complications during the short-term interim follow-up (mean 3.1 years).

As a result, an industrial pipelines data generator able to realistically simulate pipelines structures will lessen the dependence on real-life data. This article describes an industrial pipelines data generator that was developed using topological and physical properties of pipelines from real industrial projects. This generator can simulate the properties (the type of component, length, diameter, running direction, and the connectivity relationships between components) of real industrial pipelines. Its application in construction engineering and management research, more specifically in the experimental analysis of an optimization algorithm, was described by the authors in previous work [1]. The data generator can be used to develop benchmark problem instances for optimization problems and for simulation studies of construction operations in industrial projects.

Despite proposed advantages, there are limited data regarding outcomes of staged bilateral THA via 2 different approaches in the same patient. The purpose of this study was to elucidate patient perspective on the THA approach in a crossover cohort of patients who underwent consecutive THAs via the posterolateral approach (PLA) followed by a contralateral DAA. A retrospective chart review and telephone interview were performed on 37 patients who underwent both THA approaches by a single surgeon from 2009 to 2019. Perioperative outcomes, complications/reoperations, and the patient-preferred approach were collected. The mean clinical follow-up was 105 and 44 months after PLA and DAA, respectively. After DAA THA, patients demonstrated lower postoperative day 1 visual analog scale pain scores (1.8 vs 2.9, = .016) and ambulation (239 feet vs 31 feet, < .001). The length of stay was significantly less ( < .001) for the DAA (1.9 days) compared with the PLA (3.1 days). There were no major complications or reoperations in either cohort. Most patients (26/37, 70%) preferred the DAA and stated that it was easier to recover from (30/37, 81%). In the same patient direct comparison, the DAA for THA may lead to less pain and improved ambulation in the early postoperative period. Furthermore, most patients prefer the DAA and believe it is easier to recover from than the PLA. The high demand for multifunctional devices for smart clothing applications, human motion detection, soft robotics, and artificial electronic skins has encouraged researchers to develop new high-performance flexible sensors. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/azd4547.html In this work, we fabricated and tested new 3D squeezable Ecoflex® open cell foams loaded with different concentrations of graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) in order to obtain lightweight, soft, and cost-effective piezoresistive sensors with high sensitivity in a low-pressure regime. We analyzed the morphology of the produced materials and characterized both the mechanical and piezoresistive response of samples through quasi-static cyclic compression tests. Results indicated that sensors infiltrated with 1 mg of ethanol/GNP solution with a GNP concentration of 3 mg/mL were more sensitive and stable compared to those infiltrated with the same amount of ethanol/GNP solution but with a lower GNP concentration. The electromechanical response of the sensors showed a negative piezoresistive behavior up to ~10 kPa and an opposite trend for the 10-40 kPa range. The sensors were particularly sensitive at very low deformations, thus obtaining a maximum sensitivity of 0.28 kPa-1 for pressures lower than 10 kPa.School environments are an optimal setting to promote healthy student diets, yet it is unclear what role state and district policies play in shaping school contexts. This study examined how state and district policies are associated with school-reported practices for promoting student participation in school lunch programs. School nutrition manager data were obtained from the School Nutrition and Meal Cost Study's (SNMCS) sample of 1210 schools in 46 states and the District of Columbia (DC) during school year 2014-2015. Relevant state laws and district policies were compiled and coded. Multivariable logistic and Poisson regressions, controlling for school characteristics, examined the relationship between state/district laws/policies and school practices. Compared to schools in districts or states with no policies/laws, respectively, schools were more likely to provide nutritional information on school meals (AOR = 2.59, 95% CI = 1.33, 5.05) in districts with strong policies, and to promote school meals at school events (AOR = 1.93, CI = 1.07, 3.46) in states with strong laws. Schools in states with any laws related to strategies to increase participation in school meals were more likely to seek student involvement in menu planning (AOR = 2.02, CI = 1.24, 3.31) and vegetable offerings (AOR = 2.00, CI = 1.23, 3.24). The findings support the association of laws/policies with school practices.To our best knowledge this is the first study characterizing fish pathogens isolated from marine plastics from the West coast of Norway for their potential for pathogenicity using whole genome sequencing. Six isolates representing either fish pathogens or opportunistic human pathogens were selected for whole genome sequencing (WGS). These included four isolates belonging to Aeromonas spp., one Acinetobacter beijerinckii isolate and one Morganella morganii isolate. Three Aeromonas salmonicida isolates were potentially virulent and carried virulence factors involved in attachment, type II and type VI secretion systems as well as toxins such as aerA/act, ahh1, ast, hlyA, rtxA and toxA. A. salmonicida and Acinetobacter beijerinckii carried new variants of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) such as β-lactamases and chloramphenicol acetyltransferase (catB), whereas Morganella morganii carried several clinically relevant ARGs. Our study shows that marine plastics carry not only potentially virulent fish pathogens but also multidrug resistant opportunistic human pathogens like M. morganii and may serve as vectors for transport of these pathogens in the marine environment.The objective of the study was to investigate, using academic-community epidemiologic co-analysis, the odds of reported heat-related illness for people with (1) central air conditioning (AC) or window unit AC versus no AC, and (2) fair/poor vs. good/excellent reported health. From 2016 to 2017, 101 Detroit residents were surveyed once regarding extreme heat, housing and neighborhood features, and heat-related illness in the prior 5 years. Academic partners selected initial confounders and, after instruction on directed acyclic graphs, community partners proposed alternate directed acyclic graphs with additional confounders. Heat-related illness was regressed on AC type or health and co-selected confounders. The study found that heat-related illness was associated with no-AC (n = 96, odds ratio (OR) = 4.66, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.22, 17.72); living ≤5 years in present home (n = 57, OR = 10.39, 95% CI = 1.13, 95.88); and fair/poor vs. good/excellent health (n = 97, OR = 3.15, 95% CI = 1.33, 7.48). Co-analysis suggested multiple built-environment confounders. We conclude that Detroit residents with poorer health and no AC are at greater risk during extreme heat. Academic-community co-analysis using directed acyclic graphs enhances research on community-specific social and health vulnerabilities by identifying key confounders and future research directions for rigorous and impactful research.

This was a secondary analysis of data from a cross-sectional study. The prevalence of MTrPs located in tensor fasciae latae, hip adductors, hamstrings, quadriceps, gastrocnemius, and popliteus muscles was studied in 114 patients (71 men and 43 women) with knee OA. Pain and functionality were assessed with a numerical pain rating scale (NPRS), the Western Ontario, McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) score, the Barthel Index, and the timed up and go test.
The prevalence of latent MTrPs was detected via palpation and was estimated to be 50%, 35%, 25%, 29%, 33%, and 12% for tensor fasciae latae, hip adductors, hamstrings, quadriceps, gastrocnemius, and popliteus muscles, respectively. Virus replication weakens the immune system of host thereby altering T-cell count and **** of interferon response. Although no vaccine or therapeutic treatment has been approved till now for CoV infection, trials of vaccine against SARS CoV-2 are in progress. One of the epitopes used for vaccine production is of the spike protein on the surface of virus. The work focuses on designing of multi-epitope vaccine construct for treatment of seven human CoV infections using the epitopes present on the spike protein of human CoVs. To address this, immuno-informatics techniques have been employed to design multi-epitope vaccine construct. B- and T-cell epitopes of the spike proteins have been predicted and designed into a multi-epitope vaccine construct. Although no vaccine or therapeutic treatment has been approved till now for CoV infection, trials of vaccine against SARS CoV-2 are in progress. The Last Glacial Maximum (LGM), one of the best studied palaeoclimatic intervals, offers an excellent opportunity to investigate how the climate system responds to changes in greenhouse gases and the cryosphere. Previous work has sought to constrain the magnitude and pattern of glacial cooling from palaeothermometers1,2, but the uneven distribution of the proxies, as well as their uncertainties, has challenged the construction of a full-field view of the LGM climate state. Here we combine a large collection of geochemical proxies for sea surface temperature with an isotope-enabled climate model ensemble to produce a field reconstruction of LGM temperatures using data assimilation. The reconstruction is validated with withheld proxies as well as independent ice core and speleothem δ18O measurements. Our assimilated product provides a constraint on global mean LGM cooling of -6.1 degrees Celsius (95 per cent confidence interval -6.5 to -5.7 degrees Celsius). Given assumptions concerning the radiative forcing of greenhouse gases, ice sheets and mineral dust aerosols, this cooling translates to an equilibrium climate sensitivity of 3.4 degrees Celsius (2.4-4.5 degrees Celsius), a value that is higher than previous LGM-based estimates but consistent with the traditional consensus range of 2-4.5 degrees Celsius3,4.Fifty years of Moore's law scaling in microelectronics have brought remarkable opportunities for the rapidly evolving field of microscopic robotics1-5. In the case of intermediate-mass Herbig AeBe stars, the fact that Brackett γ (Brγ) emission is spatially resolved rules out the possibility that most of the emission comes from the magnetosphere4-6 because the weak magnetic fields (some tenths of a gauss) detected in these sources7,8 result in very compact magnetospheres. In the case of T Tauri sources, their larger magnetospheres should make them easier to resolve. The small angular size of the magnetosphere (a few tenths of a milliarcsecond), however, along with the presence of winds9,10 make the interpretation of the observations challenging. Here we report optical long-baseline interferometric observations that spatially resolve the inner disk of the T Tauri star TW Hydrae. We find that the near-infrared hydrogen emission comes from a region approximately 3.5 stellar radii across. This region is within the continuum dusty disk emitting region (7 stellar radii across) and also within the corotation radius, which is twice as big. This indicates that the hydrogen emission originates in the accretion columns (funnel flows of matter accreting onto the star), as expected in magnetospheric accretion models, rather than in a wind emitted at **** larger distance (more than one astronomical unit).

Radiotherapy for breast cancer can increase the risks of heart disease. Patient-specific risk assessment may be improved with the inclusion of doses to cardiac substructures. The purpose of this work was to use automatic segmentation to evaluate substructure doses and develop predictive models for these based on the dose to the whole heart.
Automatic segmentation was used to delineate cardiac substructures in a Danish breast cancer trial (DBCG HYPO) dataset comprising over 1500 Danish women treated between 2009 and 2014. Trends in contouring practices and cardiac doses over time were investigated, and models to predict substructure doses from whole heart dose parameters were fit to the data.
Manual contouring consistency improved over the study period when compared with automatic segmentation; systematic differences between automatically and manually defined heart volume decreased from 106cm
to 12.0cm
. Doses to the heart and cardiac substructures also decreased. Mean whole heart doses for left-sided treatments in 2009 and 2014 were 1.94±1.19 Gy and 1.29±0.69 Gy (average ± SD), respectively. Prediction of mean substructure doses is accurate, with R
scores in the range 0.45-0.95 (average 0.77), depending on the particular structure.

We investigated clinical and genetic factors associated with severe radiation-induced lymphopenia (RIL) in a randomized clinical trial of photon vs. proton radiation, with chemotherapy, for non-small cell lung cancer.
XRCC1 rs25487 was genotyped in lymphocytes from serial peripheral blood samples. Severe RIL was defined as absolute lymphocyte count (ALC)<0.3×10
cells/L. Univariate and multivariate analyses were used to identify independent risk factors, which were then used to group patients for risk of severe RIL.
Univariate analysis of the 178 patients in this analysis showed that older age, larger tumors, higher lung V5 and mean lung dose, and higher heart V5 and mean heart dose were associated with severe RIL during treatment (P<0.05). The XRCC1 rs25487 AA genotype was also associated with increased risk of severe RIL during treatment (AA vs. others hazard ratio [HR]=1.665, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.089-2.500, P=0.018). Multivariate analyses showed that older age (HR=1.031, 95% CI 1.009-1.054, P=0.005), lung V5 (HR=1.039, 95% CI 1.023-1.055, P<0.0001), and AA genotype (AA vs. others, HR=1.768, 95% CI 1.165-2.684, P=0.007) were independently associated with higher incidence of severe RIL. These three risk factors (age≥56years, lung V5≥51% and XRCC1 rs25487 AA) distinguished patients at different risk of developing severe RIL (P<0.0001).
Age, lung V5 and XRCC1 rs25487 AA were all linked with risk of severe RIL. Our predictive risk model may be helpful for identifying patients at high risk of severe RIL so that treatment can be modified.

A Mongolian folk medicinal plant named Thalictrum minus L. (TML) has been extensively used for the treatment of lung inflammation, bacterial and fungal infection and tuberculosis. Our present study aims to investigate the effectiveness of TML against particulate matter (PM)-induced acute lung injury (ALI) and the potential underlying mechanisms.
Initially, HPLC-Q-TOF was applied for the qualitative analysis and HPLC was used for quantitative analysis of main components in TML. Then, the **** model of ALI was induced by PM via intratracheally instilled with 50mg/kg body weight of Standard Reference Material1648a (SRM1648a), and TML (10, 20, 40mg/kg) were administered orally 1h prior to PM. The efficacy and molecular mechanisms in the presence or absence of TML were elucidated.

Predictive models generated in this work can be used to estimate mean cardiac substructure doses for datasets where patient imaging and dose distributions are not available, provided the tangential field techniques are consistent with those used in the trial. We investigated clinical and genetic factors associated with severe radiation-induced lymphopenia (RIL) in a randomized clinical trial of photon vs. proton radiation, with chemotherapy, for non-small cell lung cancer. XRCC1 rs25487 was genotyped in lymphocytes from serial peripheral blood samples. Severe RIL was defined as absolute lymphocyte count (ALC)<0.3×10 cells/L. Univariate and multivariate analyses were used to identify independent risk factors, which were then used to group patients for risk of severe RIL. Univariate analysis of the 178 patients in this analysis showed that older age, larger tumors, higher lung V5 and mean lung dose, and higher heart V5 and mean heart dose were associated with severe RIL during treatment (P<0.05). The XRCC1 rs25487 AA genotype was also associated with increased risk of severe RIL during treatment (AA vs. others hazard ratio [HR]=1.665, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.089-2.500, P=0.018). Multivariate analyses showed that older age (HR=1.031, 95% CI 1.009-1.054, P=0.005), lung V5 (HR=1.039, 95% CI 1.023-1.055, P<0.0001), and AA genotype (AA vs. others, HR=1.768, 95% CI 1.165-2.684, P=0.007) were independently associated with higher incidence of severe RIL. These three risk factors (age≥56years, lung V5≥51% and XRCC1 rs25487 AA) distinguished patients at different risk of developing severe RIL (P<0.0001). Age, lung V5 and XRCC1 rs25487 AA were all linked with risk of severe RIL. Our predictive risk model may be helpful for identifying patients at high risk of severe RIL so that treatment can be modified. A Mongolian folk medicinal plant named Thalictrum minus L. (TML) has been extensively used for the treatment of lung inflammation, bacterial and fungal infection and tuberculosis. Our present study aims to investigate the effectiveness of TML against particulate matter (PM)-induced acute lung injury (ALI) and the potential underlying mechanisms. Initially, HPLC-Q-TOF was applied for the qualitative analysis and HPLC was used for quantitative analysis of main components in TML. Then, the mice model of ALI was induced by PM via intratracheally instilled with 50mg/kg body weight of Standard Reference Material1648a (SRM1648a), and TML (10, 20, 40mg/kg) were administered orally 1h prior to PM. The efficacy and molecular mechanisms in the presence or absence of TML were elucidated. Direct-acting antiviral (DAA) drugs for hepatitis C virus (HCV) improved PROs in clinical trials. We prospectively evaluated the impact of DAA-based HCV cure on PROs and liver-related outcomes in real-world patients at a large urban medical centre. The Short Form (SF)-36 and three additional validated instruments were used. F3-4 fibrosis was defined as >9.6 kPa by transient elastography (TE); S2-3 steatosis was defined as >270 dB/m by TE-controlled attenuation parameter (CAP). Data were analysed by paired and unpaired t tests. Patients (n = 16) who did not achieve a sustained virologic response at 12 weeks (SVR12) were excluded. The study achieved its primary endpoint and showed a significant 30% improvement in the SF-36 vitality score, measured baseline to SVR12 63 vs 82, P less then .001 (n = 111). Scores in 24 of 25 PRO domains improved at SVR12 (P less then .05). Nearly all gains exceeded 5%, indicating their clinical significance. Transaminase values and liver stiffness improved (decreased) significantly, baseline to SVR12 (p less then 0.005), but steatosis was unchanged (p=0.58). Patients with baseline F0-2 fibrosis and those with F3-F4 fibrosis both improved in 22 domains. Patients with baseline S0-S1 steatosis improved in more domains (23) than patients with S2-S3 steatosis (19). Compared with the control group, exposure to 30, 100, or 500 μT PF-EMF did not exert any effect on body mass, food intake, or water intake. Similarly, no significant differences were found in hematologic parameters or blood chemistry analyses among these groups. Furthermore, morphological assays showed that exposure to PF-EMFs had no influence on the structure of the liver or kidney. Finally, fibrosis-related gene expression and oxidative stress status were unaltered by PF-EMF exposure. Anticoagulant therapy is used for stroke prevention and proved to be effective and safe in the long term. The study aims to analyse the cost-effectiveness relationship of using of direct-acting oral anticoagulants vs vitamin K antagonists to prevent ischaemic stroke in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation, including all the active ingredients marketed in Spain, prescribed for 2 years in the Primary Care service of the Institut Català de la Salut.
Population-based cohort study, in which the cost of the 2 treatment groups will be evaluated. Direct costs (pharmacy, primary care, emergency and hospitalization) and indirect costs (lost productivity) will be included from a social perspective. Effectiveness (assessed as the occurrence of a health event, the 1 of primary interest being stroke) will be determined, with a 2-year time horizon and a 3% discount rate. The average cost of the 2 groups of drugs will be compared using a regression model to determine the factors with the greatest influence on determining costs. We will carry out a univariate ('one-way') deterministic sensitivity analysis.

This pilot cross-sectional study aims to investigate a potential association of meditation with menopausal symptoms and blood chemistry for healthy women. In this study, data of 65 healthy women (age range 25-67) including 33 meditation practitioners and 32 meditation-naïve controls were analyzed to compare the Menopausal Rating Scale scores and blood chemistry with 7 more dropouts in the blood chemistry. For blood chemistry, nine components including glucose (GLU) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) were measured. Two-way analysis of variance was performed by dividing the total participants0). Our research suggests a potential association of practicing meditation with alleviations in menopausal symptoms and changes in blood chemistry, warranting further studies with a longitudinal study design and larger populations to understand the underlying causal relationships.
Malaria remains a global health threat for centuries. In recent years, a rising resistance of Plasmodium falciparum to current standard artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) leads to increasing treatment failures and requires for optimized treatment. Here, we intend to make a systematic review and meta-analysis of optimizing treatment for malaria, so as to find a potential optimal treatment.
We will search electronic databases the Cochrane Infectious Diseases Group (CIDG) Specialized Register, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CEN-TRAL), PubMed, Embase, Web of Science from their inception to 1 July, 2020. We will also search International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (ICTRP) and ClinicalTrials.gov, and contact with authors when necessary. Two authors will independently collect and select data, and the statistical analyses will be conducted by Revman V.5.3 software.
We will evaluate efficacy and safety of modified ACTs for uncomplicate malaria, comparing with standard ACTs in all eligible clinical studies.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is one of the infectious diseases that have seriously threatened global public health since its outbreak in 2019. Due to the complicated Pathogenesis, high infectivity and high fatality rate of COVID-19, there is currently no effective treatment for such epidemic disease. Traditional Chinese medicine has a long clinical history for the prevention and treatment of this kind of acute infectious disease. Qingfei Paidu Decoction (QFPD) is widely used in treating COVID-19 in China. However, there is still a lack of comprehensive and systematic evidence on the effectiveness and safety of Qingfei Paidu Decoction.
We will search each database from the built-in until May 2020. The English literature mainly searches Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMBASE, and Web of Science, while the Chinese literature comes from CNKI, CBM, VIP, and Wangfang database. Simultaneously we will retrieval clinical registration tests and grey literatures. This study only screen the clinical randomized controlled trials (RCTs) about QFPD for COVID-19 to assess its efficacy and safety.

Our research suggests a potential association of practicing meditation with alleviations in menopausal symptoms and changes in blood chemistry, warranting further studies with a longitudinal study design and larger populations to understand the underlying causal relationships. Malaria remains a global health threat for centuries. In recent years, a rising resistance of Plasmodium falciparum to current standard artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) leads to increasing treatment failures and requires for optimized treatment. Here, we intend to make a systematic review and meta-analysis of optimizing treatment for malaria, so as to find a potential optimal treatment. We will search electronic databases the Cochrane Infectious Diseases Group (CIDG) Specialized Register, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CEN-TRAL), PubMed, Embase, Web of Science from their inception to 1 July, 2020. We will also search International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (ICTRP) and ClinicalTrials.gov, and contact with authors when necessary. Two authors will independently collect and select data, and the statistical analyses will be conducted by Revman V.5.3 software. We will evaluate efficacy and safety of modified ACTs for uncomplicate malaria, comparing with standard ACTs in all eligible clinical studies. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is one of the infectious diseases that have seriously threatened global public health since its outbreak in 2019. Due to the complicated Pathogenesis, high infectivity and high fatality rate of COVID-19, there is currently no effective treatment for such epidemic disease. Traditional Chinese medicine has a long clinical history for the prevention and treatment of this kind of acute infectious disease. Qingfei Paidu Decoction (QFPD) is widely used in treating COVID-19 in China. However, there is still a lack of comprehensive and systematic evidence on the effectiveness and safety of Qingfei Paidu Decoction. We will search each database from the built-in until May 2020. The English literature mainly searches Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMBASE, and Web of Science, while the Chinese literature comes from CNKI, CBM, VIP, and Wangfang database. Simultaneously we will retrieval clinical registration tests and grey literatures.
