The minimum concentration to use the protein A for conjugation to detect titer of anti-Echinococcus IgGand the concentration of Ag B coated in nitrocellulose membrane were 0.5 and 0.3 mg/mL, respectively. This enhanced immuno-dot-blot assay offers a simple diagnostic technique withoutthe need for expensive equipment for diagnosis of echinococcosis.Hall-effect in semiconductors has wide applications for magnetic field sensing. Yet, a standard Hall sensor retains two problems its linearity is affected by the non-uniformity of the current distribution; the sensitivity is bias-dependent, with linearity decreasing with increasing bias current. In order to improve the performance, we here propose a novel structure which realizes bias-free, photo-induced Hall sensors. The system consists of a semi-transparent metal Pt and a semiconductor Si or GaAs to form a Schottky contact. We systematically compared the photo-induced Schottky behaviors and Hall effects without net current flowing, depending on various magnetic fields, light intensities and wavelengths of Pt/GaAs and Pt/Si junctions. The electrical characteristics of the Schottky photo-diodes were fitted to obtain the barrier height as a function of light intensity. We show that the open-circuit Hall voltage of Pt/GaAs junction is orders of magnitude lower than that of Pt/Si, and the barrier height of GaAs is smaller. It should be attributed to the surface states in GaAs which block the carrier drifting. This work not only realizes the physical investigations of photo-induced Hall effects in Pt/GaAs and Pt/Si Schottky junctions, but also opens a new pathway for bias-free magnetic sensing with high linearity and sensitivity comparing to commercial Hall-sensors.The aim of this study was twofold. The geo-accumulation index (Igeo) indicates uncontamination/moderately contamination with Cu in cluster 1, uncontaminated/moderately contaminate soils with Cd, Cu, and Ni in cluster 2, and uncontaminated/moderately contaminated soil with Cu and moderately contaminated with Pb, Zn, and Ni in cluster 3. By comparison, the enrichment factors overestimate the pollution of the studied sites. The pollution load index (PLI) indicates a baseline level of pollution at 14 sites and the deterioration of the soil quality at four sites. In vitro and in vivo studies showed that the metabolites of these compounds are capable of cleaving disulfide bonds implicated in the downstream effects of axonal injury. A difficulty in using standard in silico methods for studying these drugs is that most computational tools are not designed for borane-containing compounds. Using in silico and machine learning methodologies, the absorption-distribution properties of these unique compounds were assessed. Features examined with in silico methods included cellular permeability, octanol-water partition coefficient, blood-brain barrier permeability, oral absorption and serum protein binding. The resultant neural networks demonstrated an appropriate level of accuracy and were comparable to existing in silico methodologies. Specifically, they were able to reliably predict pharmacokinetic features of known boron-containing compounds. These methods predicted that phosphine-borane compounds and their metabolites meet the necessary pharmacokinetic features for orally active drug candidates. This study showed that the combination of standard in silico predictive and machine learning models with neural networks is effective in predicting pharmacokinetic features of novel boron-containing compounds as neuroprotective drugs.We previously reported that superficial non-ampullary duodenal tumors (SNADETs) commonly had a whitish mucosal surface, named milk-white mucosa (MWM). The aim of this study was to evaluate the association of MWM with epithelial intracellular lipid droplets (immunohistochemically stained by adipose differentiation-related protein (ADRP)) and histological tumor grades. We reviewed endoscopic images and the histopathology of SNADETs resected en bloc endoscopically. We analyzed the correlation between the positive rates of endoscopic MWM in preoperative endoscopy and resected specimens, and ADRP-positive rates in the resected specimens. Associations between the MWM-positive rates and tumor grades, high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia (HGIN)/intramucosal carcinoma (IC), and low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia (LGIN) were analyzed. All the 92 SNADETs analyzed were less then 20 mm and histologically classified into 39 HGIN/IC and 53 LGIN. In addition, during cosmetics manufacture, impurities coming from raw materials or formed by reaction of different organic compounds present in the formulation may be present. Their identification is mandatory to assure product quality and consumer health. In this work, micro-matrix solid-phase dispersion (μMSPD) is proposed as a multi-target sample preparation strategy to analyze a wide number of unexpected families of compounds including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), pesticides, plasticizers, nitrosamines, alkylphenols (APs), and alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEOs). Analytical determination was performed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) for the determination of 51 target compounds in a single run, whereas liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was employed for the analysis of six APs and APEOs. Both methodologies were successfully validated in terms of linearity, accuracy, and precision in leave-on and rinse-off cosmetics.

Our findings may be clinically useful during counseling with symptomatic patients with adenomyosis desiring pregnancy.

To investigate the incidence of colorectal cancer and chronic radiation proctitis after prostate radiotherapy using periodic total colonoscopy screening.
From February 2013 to January 2018, 270 patients who underwent external beam radiation therapy for prostate cancer were advised to receive periodic total colonoscopy screening annually. We evaluated the incidence and characteristics of colorectal cancer and chronic radiation proctitis.
First, second, third, fourth and fifth total colonoscopy were performed in 256 (95%), 151 (56%), 60 (22%), 23 (8.5%) and 7 (2.6%) patients at a median of 14, 31, 42, 54 and 72months after radiotherapy, respectively. The prevalence proportion of colorectal cancer in the first colonoscopy since radiotherapy was 3.9%. Twelve (4.4%) patients were diagnosed with colorectal cancer, including four invasive cancers, during a follow-up period. Eight of these 12 patients had not experienced rectal bleeding. The median time to diagnosis of colorectal cancer was 21months. Chronic radiation proctitis was observed in 136 (50%) patients, including 67 (25%) patients with symptomatic bleeding.
The high detection rate of asymptomatic radiation proctitis suggests the utility of total colonoscopy to screen for early-stage colorectal cancer prior to or following radiotherapy for prostate cancer. Considering the longevity after localized prostate cancer treatment, the awareness of chronic radiation-induced proctitis and the risk of colorectal cancer masked by bleeding is needed in treatment decision -making.

Does the presence of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the FSH receptor gene (FSHR) and/or FSH beta subunit-encoding gene (FSHB) influence ovarian response in predicted normal responders treated with rFSH?
The presence of FSHR SNPs (rs6165, rs6166, rs1394205) has a statistically significant impact in ovarian response, although this effect is of minimal clinical relevance in predicted normal responders treated with a fixed dose of 150 IU rFSH.
Ovarian reserve markers have been a breakthrough in response prediction following ovarian stimulation. Future research may focus on other populations and other genes related to folliculogenesis or steroidogenesis.

Elevated levels of plasma Leucine Rich α-2-Glycoprotein 1 (LRG1), a component of TGF-ß signalling, are associated with development and progression of chronic kidney disease in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D). However, whether this relationship is causal is uncertain.
To identify genetic variants associated with plasma LRG1 levels and determine whether genetically predicted plasma LRG1 contributes to a rapid decline in kidney function (RDKF) in patients with T2D.
We performed a genome-wide association study (GWAS) of plasma LRG1 among 3,694 T2D individuals [1,881(983 Chinese, 420 Malay and 478 Indian) discovery from SMART2D cohort and 1,813 (Chinese) validation from DN cohort]. One- sample Mendelian randomization analysis was performed among 1,337 T2D Chinese participants with preserved glomerular filtration function (baseline estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) >60ml/min/1.73m 2). RDKF was defined as an eGFR decline of 3mL/min/1.73 m 2/year or greater.
We identified rs4806985 variant near LRG1 locus robustly associated with plasma LRG1 levels (MetaP=6.66x10 -16). Among 1,337 participants, 344 (26%) developed RDKF and the rs4806985 variant was associated with higher odds of RDKF (meta odds ratio =1.23, P=0.030 adjusted for age and sex). Mendelian randomisation analysis provided evidence for a potential causal effect of plasma LRG1 on kidney function decline in T2D (P<0.05).
We demonstrate that genetically influenced plasma LRG1 increases the risk of RDKF in T2D patients suggesting plasma LRG1 as a potential treatment target. However, further studies are warranted to elucidate underlying pathways to provide insight into DKD prevention.

We analyzed the follow-up data of 2731 liver recipients that were transplanted between 1988 and 2019at our institution (Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Department of Surgery). All cases with new intrahepatic tumors during follow-up were identified.
A total of nine patients were diagnosed at a median of 16 years (range, 2-24 years) after surgery. Eight patients presented with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and one patient presented with epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE). All eight HCC patients had a recurrence of the initial disease that had caused liver failure before transplantation. This was associated with viral reinfection with either HCV or HBV in seven cases. Of the nine patients, three underwent surgical resection and only one patient was alive at data abstraction.
Intrahepatic de novo neoplasms in the liver graft need to be considered in the long-term follow-up of liver recipients and were strongly associated with recurrent viral hepatitis in our study. This article assesses how substantive and process-oriented EU development policy norms are reflected in the Union's global COVID-19 response. Focusing on the EU's response during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in the first half of 2020, the article shows that the EU's response to this extraordinary crisis consisted of a deepening of EU integration. In so doing, the EU emphasized process-oriented over substantive norms in its development policy.

COVID-19 vaccine side effects have a fundamental role in public confidence in the vaccine and its uptake process. Thus far, the evidence on vaccine safety has exclusively been obtained from the manufacturer-sponsored studies; therefore, this study was designed to provide independent evidence on Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine side effects.
A cross-sectional survey-based study was carried out between January and February 2021 to collect data on the side effects following the COVID-19 vaccine among healthcare workers in the Czech Republic. The study used a validated questionnaire with twenty-eight multiple-choice items covering the participants' demographic data, medical anamneses, COVID-19-related anamneses, general, oral, and skin-related side effects.
Injection site pain (89.8%), fatigue (62.2%), headache (45.6%), muscle pain (37.1%), and chills (33.9%) were the most commonly reported side effects. Mean-scores for quality of life (psychological WHO-QOL) were 68.89, for well-being (WHO-5) 14.34, and for stress (PSS-10) 16.42. The youngest age group (18-24) was most burdened and showed significantly more mental health symptoms compared with the oldest age group (65+) in depressive symptoms (50% vs. 12%), anxiety symptoms (35% vs. 10%), and insomnia (25% vs. 11%, all p-values less then 0.05). Mental health decreased compared to both the first lockdown earlier in 2020 and pre-pandemic data. Further analyses indicate these findings were especially apparent for the under 24-year-olds, women, single/separated people, low incomes and those who do not partake in any physical activity (all p-values less then 0.05). An alternative is to use semi-supervised models, such as co-training, where multiple complementary views are combined using a small amount of labeled data. A simple way to associate views to visual objects is through the application of a degree of rotation or a type of filter. In this work, we propose a co-training model for visual object recognition using deep neural networks by adding layers of self-supervised neural networks as intermediate inputs to the views, where the views are diversified through the cross-entropy regularization of their outputs. Since the model merges the concepts of co-training and self-supervised learning by considering the differentiation of outputs, we called it Differential Self-Supervised Co-Training (DSSCo-Training). This paper presents some experiments using the DSSCo-Training model to well-known image datasets such as MNIST, CIFAR-100, and SVHN. The results indicate that the proposed model is competitive with the state-of-art models and shows an average relative improvement of 5% in accuracy for several datasets, despite its greater simplicity with respect to more recent approaches.Radiometric calibration utilizing the Moon as a reference source is termed as lunar calibration. It is a useful method for evaluating the performance of optical sensors onboard satellites orbiting the Earth. Lunar calibration provides sufficient radiometric calibration opportunities without requiring any special equipment, and is suitable for nano/microsatellites. This study applies lunar calibration to a multispectral sensor, Ocean Observation Camera (OOC), on board a microsatellite named Rapid International Scientific Experiment Satellite. Simulating the brightness of the Moon based on the RObotic Lunar Observatory and SELENE/Spectrum Profiler models, sensitivity degradation was proven to be negligible in any of the four spectral bands of the OOC with the sensor temperature correction. A bluing trend in the OOC's sensor sensitivity was revealed, indicating a shorter observation wavelength shows larger irradiance. Comparing the top-of-atmosphere reflectance of Railroad Valley Playa with the Radiometric Calibration Network dataset revealed that the derived calibration parameter from the lunar calibration was valid for correcting the bluing trend in the visible range.

Regarding the prevalence of lymphedema, no significant difference was observed between groups. The mean value of the impedance ratio was low in the CDT group during the entire 12 month follow-up. Conclusions The results of the present study show that early CDT had a positive effect on the prevalence of lymphedema and body composition. The Frontline Field Epidemiology Training Program (Frontline) is a focused 3-month program targeting local ministries of health to strengthen local disease surveillance and reporting capacities. Limited literature exists on the impact of Frontline graduates on disease surveillance completeness and timeliness reporting. Using routinely collected Ministry of Health data, we mapped the distribution of graduates between 2014 and 2017 across 47 Kenyan counties. Completeness was defined as the proportion of complete reports received from health facilities in a county compared with the total number of health facilities in that county. Timeliness was defined as the proportion of health facilities submitting surveillance reports on time to the county. Using a panel analysis and controlling for county-fixed effects, we evaluated the relationship between the number of Frontline graduates and priority disease reporting of measles. We found that Frontline training was correlated with improved completeness and timeliness of weekly reporting for priority diseases. The number of Frontline graduates increased by 700%, from 57 graduates in 2014 to 456 graduates in 2017. The annual average rates of reporting completeness increased from 0.8% in 2014 to 55.1% in 2017. The annual average timeliness reporting rates increased from 0.1% in 2014 to 40.5% in 2017. Materials and Methods An 11-item questionnaire was electronically distributed to regional academies/societies representing rhinoplasty surgeons worldwide. Respondent exposure to and use of DPR were assessed based on geographic location. Results Eight hundred thirty-six responses were received. Despite early publications on DPR originating largely from Western Europe and the United States, Turkey and Mexico have the greatest use of DPR techniques currently. The familiarity across many regions with preservation techniques appear to be secondary to courses and conferences rather than incorporation into training. Mexico demonstrates the greatest exposure to DPR during training. Advances in genomic techniques have led to increased use of next-generation sequencing (NGS). We evaluated the extent to which these tests guide treatment decisions.
We developed and distributed a survey assessing NGS use and outcomes to a survey pool of ASCO members. Comparisons between groups were performed with Wilcoxon two-sample, chi-square, and Fisher's exact tests.
Among 178 respondents, 62% were male, 54% White, and 67% affiliated with academic centers. More than half (56%) indicated that NGS provided actionable information to a moderate or great extent. Use was highest (median ≥ 70% of cases) for lung and gastric cancer, and lowest (median < 25% of cases) in head and neck and genitourinary cancers. Approximately one third of respondents reported that, despite identification of an actionable molecular variant, patients were sometimes or often unable to access the relevant US Food and Drug Administration-approved therapy. When NGS did not provide actionable results, individuals reporting greated therapies or referring to a clinical trial.

Regarding the prevalence of lymphedema, no significant difference was observed between groups. The mean value of the impedance ratio was low in the CDT group during the entire 12 month follow-up. Conclusions The results of the present study show that early CDT had a positive effect on the prevalence of lymphedema and body composition. The Frontline Field Epidemiology Training Program (Frontline) is a focused 3-month program targeting local ministries of health to strengthen local disease surveillance and reporting capacities. Limited literature exists on the impact of Frontline graduates on disease surveillance completeness and timeliness reporting. Using routinely collected Ministry of Health data, we mapped the distribution of graduates between 2014 and 2017 across 47 Kenyan counties. Completeness was defined as the proportion of complete reports received from health facilities in a county compared with the total number of health facilities in that county. Timeliness was defined as the proportion of health facilities submitting surveillance reports on time to the county. Using a panel analysis and controlling for county-fixed effects, we evaluated the relationship between the number of Frontline graduates and priority disease reporting of measles. We found that Frontline training was correlated with improved completeness and timeliness of weekly reporting for priority diseases. The number of Frontline graduates increased by 700%, from 57 graduates in 2014 to 456 graduates in 2017. The annual average rates of reporting completeness increased from 0.8% in 2014 to 55.1% in 2017. The annual average timeliness reporting rates increased from 0.1% in 2014 to 40.5% in 2017. These findings demonstrate how global health security implementation progress in workforce development may influence surveillance and disease reporting.Background Dorsal preservation rhinoplasty (DPR) has recently received significant academic attention in part due to theoretical benefits over excisional surgical methods. The purpose of this study was to assess the global practice patterns regarding this technique. Materials and Methods An 11-item questionnaire was electronically distributed to regional academies/societies representing rhinoplasty surgeons worldwide. Respondent exposure to and use of DPR were assessed based on geographic location. Results Eight hundred thirty-six responses were received. Despite early publications on DPR originating largely from Western Europe and the United States, Turkey and Mexico have the greatest use of DPR techniques currently. The familiarity across many regions with preservation techniques appear to be secondary to courses and conferences rather than incorporation into training. Mexico demonstrates the greatest exposure to DPR during training. Overall, the SBD motion on each diabatic state is simpler than the motion of the total density. In the weak coupling regime, which characterizes the parameters of oscillators that comprise such a bath, the SBD on each TLS state remains primarily compact and Gaussian-like, such that its peak is well characterized by the mode expectation value. In the absence of a dissipative environment, nonadiabatic density depletion leads to spikes in coordinate expectation values. The evolution of the SBD peak trajectory for two discrete modes exhibits Lissajous patterns with frequency-dependent shapes that strongly resemble classical trajectory motion on a torus. These patterns become more complex when the coupling of the mode to the TLS is increased outside of this regime, leading to persistent small amplitude oscillations in the TLS populations characterized by a very slow decay and SBD trajectories that exhibit behaviors reminiscent of chaotic classical systems. Indirect coupling to a dissipative bath has a stabilizing effect on the dynamics, eliminating spikes, synchronizing the SBD motion on the two diabatic states and regularizing the SBD trajectory to simple rectangular Lissajous-like shapes with a slowly shrinking boundary, regardless of the mode frequencies.

The Cooperative Dry Bean Nursery (CDBN) is a MET for common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) grown for over 70 years in the United States and Canada, consisting of 20 to 50 entries each year at 10 to 20 locations. The CBDN provides a rich source of phenotypic data across entries, years, and locations that is amenable to genetic analysis. To study stable genetic effects segregating in this MET, we conducted genome-wide association (GWAS) using best linear unbiased predictions (BLUPs) derived across years and locations for 21 CDBN phenotypes and genotypic data (1.2M SNPs) for 327 CDBN genotypes. The value of this approach was confirmed by the discovery of three candidate genes and genomic regions previously identified in balanced GWAS. Multivariate adaptive shrinkage (mash) analysis, which increased our power to detect significant correlated effects, found significant effects for all phenotypes. Mash found two large genomic regions with effects on multiple phenotypes, supporting a hypothesis of pleiotropic or linked effects that were likely selected on in pursuit of a crop ideotype. Overall, our results demonstrate that statistical genomics approaches can be used on MET phenotypic data to discover significant genetic effects and to define genomic regions associated with crop improvement. Copyright © 2020, Genetics.OBJECTIVES The role of ambulatory follow-up after pediatric asthma hospitalization in preventing long-term readmissions is not well studied among hospitalized minority children. We sought to examine the association of ambulatory visit attendance with long-term readmission as well as identify predictors of attendance at these visits among urban, minority children with asthma. METHODS This 2-year retrospective cohort study analyzed data for urban, minority children 2 to 18 years old who were hospitalized for asthma at a tertiary-care center. Using bivariate and multivariable analyses, we examined the independent associations of attending a postdischarge visit (within 14 days), a routine visit (within 3 months of discharge or postdischarge visit), and both visits with likelihood of asthma readmission within 365 days. We also identified predictors of attending each of these visits. RESULTS The study included 613 children with a median age of 5 years. Of the children, 57.4% were boys, 51.2% were Hispanic, and 36.9% were non-Hispanic African American. One-quarter of the children were readmitted within 365 days of the index hospitalization. Children who attended the postdischarge visit had lower odds of long-term readmission (odds ratio = 0.65; 95% confidence interval = 0.43-0.97). However, attending a routine or both a postdischarge and a routine visit was not significantly associated with long-term readmission. Children with previous sick visits, complicating comorbidities, or more severe exacerbation were more likely to attend visits. CONCLUSIONS Attending a postdischarge visit within 14 days of hospitalization is associated with a lower likelihood of long-term readmission. Those with a previous sick visit, more severe disease, or exacerbation are more likely to attend ambulatory visits after hospital discharge. This knowledge is important in fostering quality care transitions for children with asthma. The pain in right wrist was disabling and severe enough to restrict the daily life activities. After the evaluation of clinical and radiological features, the patient was diagnosed with Kienböck's disease Lichtman stage IIIB in the right wrist and stage IIIA in the left wrist. Routine laboratory investigations revealed a serum uric acid 9.27 mg/dL. Lunate excision and scaphocapitate fusion were done in the right wrist after discussing with the patient. The histopathological examinations of tophi in synovial tissue were negatively birefringent under polarised light microscopy. It confirmed the diagnoses of gout. Febuxostat was started postoperatively. The patient returned to work at the end of 5 months. At the site, he presented with tonic-clonic seizures, central facial palsy and eye deviation. A CT scan of the cerebrum did not find bleeding or thrombosis, but contrast enhancement at the superior sagittal sinus and pathological cervical lymph nodes. The MRI demonstrated multiple intracerebral metastases, while a supplementary fluoro-deoxy-glucose positron emission tomography scan revealed metastatic lesions above and below the diaphragm, without signs of a primary tumour. An ear, nose and throat examination found a small supraglottic tumour and cervical lymph node metastases. Following a multidisciplinary team discussion, biopsies from the duodenal mucosa and an inguinal lymph node were performed, showing squamous cell carcinoma with its origin in the head and neck. The patient was diagnosed with a T1N2cM1 supraglottic laryngeal cancer, receiving palliative whole brain radiation therapy but died 11 weeks after the debut of symptoms.

The value of this approach was confirmed by the discovery of three candidate genes and genomic regions previously identified in balanced GWAS. Multivariate adaptive shrinkage (mash) analysis, which increased our power to detect significant correlated effects, found significant effects for all phenotypes. Mash found two large genomic regions with effects on multiple phenotypes, supporting a hypothesis of pleiotropic or linked effects that were likely selected on in pursuit of a crop ideotype. Overall, our results demonstrate that statistical genomics approaches can be used on MET phenotypic data to discover significant genetic effects and to define genomic regions associated with crop improvement. Copyright © 2020, Genetics.OBJECTIVES The role of ambulatory follow-up after pediatric asthma hospitalization in preventing long-term readmissions is not well studied among hospitalized minority children. We sought to examine the association of ambulatory visit attendance with long-term readmission as well as identify predictors of attendance at these visits among urban, minority children with asthma. METHODS This 2-year retrospective cohort study analyzed data for urban, minority children 2 to 18 years old who were hospitalized for asthma at a tertiary-care center. Using bivariate and multivariable analyses, we examined the independent associations of attending a postdischarge visit (within 14 days), a routine visit (within 3 months of discharge or postdischarge visit), and both visits with likelihood of asthma readmission within 365 days. We also identified predictors of attending each of these visits. RESULTS The study included 613 children with a median age of 5 years. Of the children, 57.4% were boys, 51.2% were Hispanic, and 36.9% were non-Hispanic African American. One-quarter of the children were readmitted within 365 days of the index hospitalization. Children who attended the postdischarge visit had lower odds of long-term readmission (odds ratio = 0.65; 95% confidence interval = 0.43-0.97). However, attending a routine or both a postdischarge and a routine visit was not significantly associated with long-term readmission. Children with previous sick visits, complicating comorbidities, or more severe exacerbation were more likely to attend visits. CONCLUSIONS Attending a postdischarge visit within 14 days of hospitalization is associated with a lower likelihood of long-term readmission. Those with a previous sick visit, more severe disease, or exacerbation are more likely to attend ambulatory visits after hospital discharge. This knowledge is important in fostering quality care transitions for children with asthma. After the evaluation of clinical and radiological features, the patient was diagnosed with Kienböck's disease Lichtman stage IIIB in the right wrist and stage IIIA in the left wrist. Routine laboratory investigations revealed a serum uric acid 9.27 mg/dL. Lunate excision and scaphocapitate fusion were done in the right wrist after discussing with the patient. The histopathological examinations of tophi in synovial tissue were negatively birefringent under polarised light microscopy. It confirmed the diagnoses of gout. BACKGROUND Tumour grade is traditionally considered in the management of patients with colorectal cancer. However, a large body of literature suggests that a related feature, namely tumour budding, may have a more important clinical impact. The aim of our study is to determine the correlation between tumour grade and tumour budding and their impact on patient outcome. METHODS A retrospective collective of 771 patients with colorectal cancer were included in the study. Clinicopathological information included tumour grade (World Health Organisation 2010; G1, G2 and G3) and tumour budding evaluated as BD1, BD2 and BD3 and representing 0-4 buds, 5-9 buds and 10 or more buds per 0.785 mm2, respectively. RESULTS Tumour grade and tumour budding were correlated (p less then 0.0001, percent concordance 33.8%). Of the BD1 cases, 18.1% were of G3. Only two BD3 cases were G1. Both high tumour grade and tumour budding were associated with higher pT, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and lymphatic and venous vessel invasion (p less then 0.01, all), but only tumour grade was additionally associated with right-sided tumour location and mucinous histology. Higher tumour budding led to worse overall (p = 0.0286) and disease-free survival (p = 0.001), but tumour grade did not. Budding was independent of tumour grade in multivariate analysis. DISCUSSION Tumour grade and tumour budding are distinct features, as recognised by their different clinicopathological associations, reflecting different underlying biological processes. A retrospective review of the clinical, radiological, and endovascular details of these patients was conducted. RESULTS The mortality and the morbidity in this study were 4% and 9.3%, respectively. Compared with A1 and A2 aneurysms, intraoperative rupture was more common in A3 aneurysms (P = 0.029). Difference between the ruptured and unruptured aneurysms in the distribution of therapeutic strategy (P = 0.003) and immediate embolization degree (P = 0.004) was also significant. Statistical analysis demonstrated that the larger aneurysm (P = 0.031) was, the greater the ratio of aneurysm size to parent artery diameter (P = 0.029) was, the more likely the unruptured aneurysms were to occur ischemic events. Higher Hunt-Hess grade (P = 0.0066) was an independent risk factor for poor clinical outcome. CONCLUSION Endovascular treatment is feasible and effective for ACA aneurysms. PATIENTS AND METHODS From January 2017 to June 2017, 45 patients with TLE underwent temporal lobe resection with intra-operative ECoG at the Beijing Institute of Functional Neurosurgery of Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University, China. The scalp EEG, pre-operative and post-operative ECoG were analyzed. Surgical outcome was evaluated with Engel's classification every 3 months, 6 months and 1 year after surgery. RESULTS Before temporal lobe resection the ECoG showed a variable amount of interictal spiks in all patients. A different pattern of burst suppression (BS) was recorded in 33.3% (n = 15; male7, female8; mean age, 26.9 years; range 3-45 years) in a small zone of temporal cortex. The BS is characterized of a suppression pattern with bursts of high-amplitude spike rhythm or low amplitude fast activity. After the temporal lobe resection, BS was disappeared in 26.7% (4/15), 73.3% (n = 11) showed the focal BS pattern in a cortex adjacent to the margin of resection, 20% (n = 3) had no epileptiform abnormality, and 40% (n = 6) had minor spikes. The mean postoperative follow-up was 14 ± 2.1 months, 73.3% (n = 11) were class I and 26.7% (n = 4) were class Ⅱ (Engel's classification). CONCLUSION The focal BS was observed during temporal lobectomy and this unusual pattern does not affect the surgical outcome in patients with TLE. We describe aneurysm occlusion rates, complications and patient outcomes in patients with ICA aneurysms treated with flow diverter stents. PATIENTS AND METHODS We identified all consecutive patients with ICA aneurysms that were treated with flow diverter stents between 2014 and 2019 at our institution. We divided the aneurysms into two anatomic subgroups (cavernous and supraclinoid segments). All the imaging studies and medical records were reviewed for relevant features in relation to aneurysms, complications and patient outcomes. RESULTS A total of 62 patients with 76 ICA aneurysms (72 unruptured; 4 ruptured) were treated with 70 flow diversion procedures, including six re-treatments. Background Bladder cancer (**) is one of the most common malignancies world-wide with high morbidity and mortality. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are thought to play a critical role in cancer development. LncRNA NRON, a repressor of activated T-cell nuclear factor (NFAT), has been shown to be dysregulated in many cancer types. However, the clinical significance and molecular mechanism of NRON in bladder cancer is still unknown. Methods The expression levels of NRON in ** tissues and cell lines were tested by RT-qPCR. Survival analysis was performed to detect the correlation between NRON expression and clinical outcomes in patients with **. The biological role of NRON in ** cells proliferation and metastasis was examined in vitro and in vivo. Results The expression of NRON was significantly upregulated in ** specimens and cell lines compared with paired adjacent normal tissues and normal cell lines. The upregulation of NRON in bladder cancer patients was significantly associated with the depth of bladder tumor invasion and poor prognosis. Knockdown of NRON inhibited ** cells proliferation, migration, invasion and tumorigenicity. In order to evade immune recognition, EBV establishes latent infection in B lymphocytes where it expresses limited sets of proteins called EBV transcription programs (ETPs), including six nuclear antigens (EBNAs), three latent membrane proteins (LMP), and untranslated RNA called EBV encoded RNA (EBER), shown to efficiently transform B cells into lymphoblastic cells. These programs undergo different patterns of expression which determine the occurrence of distinct types of latency in the pathogenesis of a particular tumor. Hematopoietic cell derived tumors include but not limited to Burkitt's lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma, post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders, and natural killer (NK)/T cell lymphoma. EBV undergoes lytic infection in epithelia cells for amplification of the viral particle for transmission where it expresses lytic stage genes. Patients and methods The X-tile approach was used to find the cut-off points for the novel LODDS staging scheme in 240,898 patients from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database and externally validated in 1,878 from the international multicenter cohort. Kaplan-Meier plot and multivariate Cox proportional hazard models were performed to investigate the role of the novel LODDS classification. Results The prognostic cut-off values were determined as -2.18, and -0.23 (P less then 0.001). Patients had 5-year cancer-specific survival rates of 83.8%, 57.4% and 24.4% with increasing LODDS (P less then 0.001) in the SEER database. Five-year overall survival rates were 77.2%, 55.0% and 26.7% with increasing LODDS (P less then 0.001) in the external international multicenter cohort. Multivariate survival analysis identified both the LODDS classification, the patient's age, the T category, the M status, and the tumor grade as independent prognostic factors in both two independent databases.

DAVID was performed to assess Gene ontology (GO) and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analyses. The protein-protein interaction (PPI) network and modules were constructed. The function pathway, prognostic and diagnostic analysis of these hub genes was picked out to estimate their potential effects on metastasis of ccRCC. Results A total of 873 DEGs were identified (503 upregulated genes and 370 downregulated genes). Meanwhile, top 20 hub genes were displayed. GO analysis showed that the top 20 hub genes were enriched in regulation of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase signaling, positive regulation of DNA replication, protein autophosphorylation, protein tyrnd used as potential biomarkers for diagnosis, prognosis of ccRCC. © The author(s).Background and aim To construct proper and externally validate cut-off points for log odds of positive lymph nodes scheme (LODDS) staging scheme in colorectal cancer (CRC). Patients and methods The X-tile approach was used to find the cut-off points for the novel LODDS staging scheme in 240,898 patients from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) database and externally validated in 1,878 from the international multicenter cohort. Kaplan-Meier plot and multivariate Cox proportional hazard models were performed to investigate the role of the novel LODDS classification. Results The prognostic cut-off values were determined as -2.18, and -0.23 (P less then 0.001). Patients had 5-year cancer-specific survival rates of 83.8%, 57.4% and 24.4% with increasing LODDS (P less then 0.001) in the SEER database. Five-year overall survival rates were 77.2%, 55.0% and 26.7% with increasing LODDS (P less then 0.001) in the external international multicenter cohort.
