Ultrafiltration (UF) can effectively remove large particles, suspended solids, and colloidal substances from anaerobic digestate. However, membrane fouling is a technical challenge in the purification of the digestate by UF. In this study, polyethersulfone (PES) membranes with four pore sizes (50.0, 20.0, 10.0 and 5.0 kDa) were employed to filter anaerobic digestate from ***** manure. The effects of temperature, transmembrane pressure (TMP), and cross-flow velocity (CFV) on flux were investigated. The purification effects and fouling characteristics of the four membranes were analyzed. The results revealed that the increase of temperature and CFV can effectively promote UF separation efficiency, but as the TMP exceeded 3.0 bar, the flux increase rates of the four membranes were almost zero. Administrative records of registration with Regional Councils for Children Requiring Care (RCCRC), which is suggestive of child maltreatment cases, were linked with survey data from pregnancy notification forms registered at municipalities (n = 893). Exact logistic regression was used for analysis. A total of 11 children (1.2%) were registered with RCCRC by 3 years of age. Unmarried marital status, history of artificial abortion, and smoking during pregnancy were significantly associated with child maltreatment. Prenatal risk scores calculated as the sum of these prenatal risk factors, ranging from 0 to 7, showed high predictive power (area under receiver operating characteristic curve 0.805; 95% confidence interval (CI), 0.660-0.950) at a cut-off score of 2 (sensitivity = 72.7%, specificity = 83.2%). The majority of the nurses were below the age of 30, single, and worked in medical-surgical wards. Approximately, 92% of the nurses reported moderate to high burnout, with a mean practice environment score of 2.54 ± 0.34 and resilience score of 22.01 ± 5.69. Practice environment and resilience were higher in the low level of burnout than in the moderate to high level of burnout. After controlling for demographic and occupational characteristics, resilience and nursing foundations for quality of care were significant predictors of burnout (OR = 0.71, p = 0.001; OR = 0.01, p = 0.036, respectively), explaining 65.7% of the variance. In a mixed practice environment, increased resilience and nursing foundations for quality of care lowered nurses' burnout. T-tests and chi-square tests were used to analyze the differences by age for continuous and categorical variables, respectively. Binary logistic regressions were performed to study the association between ACS barriers of children and parents and ACS. Both children and adolescents perceived higher physical and motivational barriers and social support barriers towards ACS than their parents (all p less then 0.05). Additionally, the parents perceived higher distance, traffic safety, convenience, built environment, crime-related safety and weather as barriers towards ACS, than their children (all p less then 0.05). Moreover, a higher perception of barriers was related to lower ACS. The results of our study showed the necessity of attenuating the perceptions of children and their parents in order to increase ACS. These models were then combined in general models that predict the properties of char made from mixed waste components depending on pyrolysis temperature, residence time, and share of municipal solid waste components. Next, the general models were compared with experimental data (two mixtures made from the above-mentioned components carbonized at the same conditions). The comparison showed that most of the proposed general models had a determination coefficient (R2) over 0.6, and the best prediction was found for the prediction of biochar mass yield (R2 = 0.9). All models were implemented into a spreadsheet to provide a simple tool to determine the potential of carbonization of municipal solid waste/refuse solid fuel based on a local mix of major components.

Cholestasis is caused by a wide variety of etiologies, often genetic in origin. Broad overlap in clinical presentations, particularly in newborns, renders prioritizing diagnostic investigations challenging. In this setting, a timely, comprehensive assessment using a multigene panel by a clinical diagnostic laboratory would likely prove useful. We summarize initial findings from a testing program designed to discover genetic causes of cholestasis.
A neonatal/adult sequencing panel containing 66 genes (originally 57; nine added March 2017) relevant to cholestasis was used. A broad range of eligible patients were enrolled with current/history of cholestasis without an identified cause, or unexplained chronic liver disease. DNA sequencing utilized a custom-designed capture library, and variants were classified and reported as benign, likely benign, variant of unknown significance (VOUS), likely pathogenic (LP), or pathogenic (P), according to the clinical interpretation workflow at EGL Genetics (Tucker, GA).
A total of 2433 samples were submitted between February 2016 and December 2017; 2171 results were reported. Median turnaround time was 21 days. Results from the 2171 subjects (57% <1 year old) included 583 P variants, 79 LP variants, and 3117 VOUS; 166 P/LP variants and 415 VOUS were novel. The panel's overall diagnostic yield was 12% (n = 265/2171) representing 32 genes. The top five genetic diagnoses for the group, in order JAG1 + NOTCH2 (Alagille syndrome), ABCB11, SERPINA1, ABCB4, and POLG.
These findings support the utility of comprehensive rapid multigene testing in diagnosing cholestasis and highlight the evolving understanding of genetic variants contributing to the pathogenesis of cholestasis.

To investigate the long-term follow-up (FU) and effectivity of laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB) in a French adolescent cohort.
We retrospectively analyzed the results of LAGB at our institution. We collected information on FU, adjustable gastric banding (AGB) status, weight-related parameters, and comorbidity at multiple timepoints.
Fifty-six patients (77% female) with a mean age of 16.5 years and a mean body mass index (BMI) of 45 kg/m2 underwent LAGB over a period of 12 years. The prevalence of most comorbidities also decreased significantly after 3 years. There is a large interobserver variability in evaluating mucosal lesions of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), especially in pediatric patients. This multicenter prospective observational study aims to evaluate interobserver agreement (IOA) among pediatric endoscopists in assigning validated IBD endoscopic scores in children.
Fifteen videos of follow-up ileocolonoscopies in children with IBD were recorded and selected as cases. Eleven pediatric endoscopists from different centers blindly evaluated all videos and calculated scores either Ulcerative Colitis Endoscopic Index of Severity (UCEIS) or Simple Endoscopic Score for Crohn Disease (SES-CD). Scores from all reviewers were compared in order to calculate IOA for general videos and specific sections. Scores from an expert adult reader were used to calculate possible reviewer's characteristics affecting scores' reliability.
Intraclass correlation was 0.298 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.13-0.55) for ulcerative colitis (UC) and 0.266 (0.11-0.52) for Crohr CD. All readers showed a low-grade concordance with the expert adult gastroenterologist's evaluations. Future-specific training programs should be considered to increase IOA in using IBD endoscopic activity scores.
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has a high impact on nutritional status. Sarcopenia is related to higher risk of surgery and rescue therapy in adults with IBD; however, comparable data in pediatric populations are scarce. We evaluated muscle mass as a predictor of disease outcome in pediatric IBD.
All pediatric IBD patients who underwent magnetic resonance enterography (MRE) during 2008 to 2019 were included. Muscle mass was assessed by measuring the area of the psoas muscle at the upper level of L3 on MRE. The psoas area divided by the body surface area (BSA) yielded the psoas index. Clinical and radiological data, including disease location, activity, course, and medications were documented. The control group included non-IBD children who underwent an MR imaging study.

Depression is a common mental disorder that suffers many elderly people who are neglected, their problems are overlooked, and no efforts are made to mitigate their suffering. It is a mental health problem which is both underdiagnosed and under treated in primary care settings. This study was aimed to assess the prevalence and associated factors of depression among elderly people in Womberma District, Ethiopia.
A community based cross-sectional study was conducted from March 10/2020 - April 08/2020. From a 2269 study population, 959 study participants were selected by using computer-generated simple random sampling techniques from selected kebeles. Data were collected using Geriatric depression scale item 15 through face-to-face interviews. Then, entered into EpiData version 3.1 and then exported to SPSS version 23.0 for analyses. Bi-variable and multivariable logistic regression models were fitted to identify associated factors of depression. In this study, the prevalence of depression among elderly people was high compared with previous studies done in other parts of Ethiopia. Older age, being female, marital loss, presence of known chronic disease, and poor social support were contributing factors for depression among elders. Early screening and co-morbidity management of depression should be comprised in basic primary health care packages. We aim at collecting data from N = 200 leaders. Based on the results of a preceding assessment, an already successfully implemented stress management training was adapted to SME needs and now serves as the framework of this intervention. Alpha-fetoprotein-negative hepatocellular carcinoma (AFP-NHCC) (< 8.78 ng/mL) have special clinicopathologic characteristics and prognosis. The aim of this study was to apply a new method to establish and validate a new model for predicting the prognosis of patients with AFP-NHCC.
A total of 410 AFP-negative patients with clinical diagnosed with HCC following non-surgical therapy as a primary cohort; 148 patients with AFP-NHCC following non-surgical therapy as an independent validation cohort. In primary cohort, independent factors for overall survival (OS) by LASSO Cox regression were all contained into the nomogram1; by Forward Stepwise Cox regression were all contained into the nomogram2. Nomograms performance and discriminative power were assessed with concordance index (C-index) values, area under curve (AUC), Calibration curve and decision curve analyses (DCA). The results were validated in the validation cohort.

It is a mental health problem which is both underdiagnosed and under treated in primary care settings. This study was aimed to assess the prevalence and associated factors of depression among elderly people in Womberma District, Ethiopia. A community based cross-sectional study was conducted from March 10/2020 - April 08/2020. From a 2269 study population, 959 study participants were selected by using computer-generated simple random sampling techniques from selected kebeles. Data were collected using Geriatric depression scale item 15 through face-to-face interviews. Then, entered into EpiData version 3.1 and then exported to SPSS version 23.0 for analyses. To explore the specific features of cognitive function in patients with schizophrenia at different stages and its influencing factors.
The MATRICS Consensus Cognitive Battery (****) and the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) were administered to 208 patients with schizophrenia, including 158 clinically stable schizophrenia (CSS) and 50 first-episode patients with schizophrenia (FES), and 40 healthy controls (HC). Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to match the CSS and FES.

Three days after delivery, the patient developed severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and was intubated for 25 days. The neonate was observed in the neonatal intensive care unit and no vertical transmission occurred. When printing solid-infill geometries, however, uncured support matrix becomes trapped within the prints, which may be undesirable. This study builds on previous work by formulating a support matrix for removable embedded 3D printing that cures when mixed with the printed silicone ink to solve the problem of trapped, uncured support matrix within solid-infill prints. Printed specimens are shown to have a nearly isotropic elastic modulus in directions perpendicular and parallel to the printed layers, and a decreased modulus and increased elongation at break compared to specimens cast from the ink. The rheological properties of the support matrix are reported. The capabilities of the printer and support matrix are demonstrated by printing a variety of geometries from four UV and addition-cure silicone inks. Shapes printed with these inks range by nearly two orders of magnitude in stiffness and have failure strains between approximately 50 and 250%, suggesting a wide range of potential applications for this printing process.Production-volume and cost requirements currently limit machine tool manufacturers' ability to produce application-specific tooling with traditional methods, motivating the development of innovative manufacturing technologies. To this end, we detail a manufacturing framework for the design and production of application-specific cutting tools based on industry standard tungsten carbide-cobalt (WC-Co)-based "carbide" cutting materials using additive manufacturing (AM). Herein, novel diamond-reinforced carbide structures were designed and manufactured via AM and subsequently tested in comparison to current commercial products that are traditionally-processed. The resulting diamond-reinforced composites were free from large scale cracking and maintained microstructures with multiple reinforcing phases. Diamond incorporation had a remarkable effect on the processing, microstructure, and machining performance of the WC-Co based material in comparison to a commercial carbide cutting tool of similar composition as well as the base WC-Co matrix. Detailed microstructure and phase analysis, as well as machining experiments, demonstrate the ability to exploit laser-based directed energy deposition (DED)-based AM to create multifunctional cutting tools that can be designed to meet ever-increasing manufacturing demands across many industries.As the epidemic of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has spread rapidly, health organizations around the world has made wearing face mask obligatory to prevent the spread of the infections for the wellness of the society. Up to 40% of people affected by pain receive no or inadequate treatment. Providing a scalable, time-, and location-independent way for pain diagnostic, management, prevention and treatment mobile health applications (MHA) might be a promising approach to improve health care for pain. However, the commercial app market is rapidly growing and unregulated, resulting in an opaque market. Studies investigating the content, privacy and security features, quality and scientific evidence of the available apps are highly needed, to guide patients and clinicians to high quality MHA.Contributing to this challenge, the present study investigates the content, quality, and privacy features of pain apps available in the European app stores.
An automated search engine was used to identify pain apps in the European Google Play and Apple App store. Pain apps were screened and checked for systematic criteria (pain-relatedness, functionality, availability, independent usability, English or German).

The aim of this study was to evaluate the synergistic antimicrobial effect of xenon light (XL) and citric acid (CA) combination against Escherichia coli O157H7, Salmonella Typhimurium, and Listeria monocytogenes on spinach leaves and determine the effect of XL-CA combination on quality of spinach leaves. The XL-CA combined treatment for 8 min synergistically decreased the cell counts of E. coli O157H7 and S. Typhimurium by 5.25 and 5.05 log CFU/cm2, respectively, and additively decreased the L. monocytogenes cells by 5.02 log unit on spinach. The mechanisms underlying synergistic lethal effect of the XL-CA combination were investigated. Qualitative and quantitative analyses revealed that the bacterial cell membrane damage was strongly associated with the synergistic antimicrobial effect of the XL-CA combination. Additionally, treatment with XL-CA combination for 8 min did not affect the quality attributes (color, total phenol contents, and texture) of spinach leaves. These results suggest that the XL-CA combination treatment can be effectively used to control major pathogens on fresh produce.The impacts of protein type, content and polymerization on in vitro starch digestibility of cooked sorghum noodles were investigated. Results showed that addition of exogenous proteins decreased the starch hydrolysis rate. The noodles added wheat protein (WP) exhibited the highest amount of resistant starch, followed by whey protein isolate (WPI) and egg white protein (EWP). In each group, the hydrolysis kinetic parameters were the lowest when protein addition amounts were 5% WP, 3% EWP and 3% WPI, respectively. These changes were ascribed to the interactions of starch-proteins and protein-proteins, as proved by the enhancement of protein polymerization and starch short-range structure. The increase of protein polymerization degree induced by disulfide cross-links reduced the starch digestion rate of noodles. Additionally, the confocal laser scanning microscope observations demonstrated that the strengthening of protein network had a positive effect on decreasing starch digestibility by preventing the accessibility of enzymes to starch.Salmonella is a major foodborne pathogen worldwide, causing serious cases of morbidity and mortality due to the consumption of contaminated foods. Animal-borne foods were considered the main source of transferring Salmonella to humans; however, route surveillance by genomic platforms along the food-chain is limited in China. Here, we proceeded to the application of whole genome sequencing in the epidemiological analysis of Salmonella isolated along the food-chain in Xinjiang, China. A total of 2408 samples were collected from farms, slaughterhouses, and markets, and subjected to the isolation of Salmonella strains. 314 (13.04%) of the samples were positive for Salmonella. Phenotypic antimicrobial resistance was conducted by the broth dilution method using 14 antimicrobial agents belonging to ten classes for all 314 isolates. A selection of representative 103 isolates was subjected to whole-genome sequencing for understanding the Salmonella diversity, including serovars, antimicrobial and virulence genes, plassurveillance by whole-genome sequencing platform could facilitate recognition and project early warning for the emerging MDR clones along the food-chain.The aim of the study was to evaluate antioxidant activity of crude peptides with molecular weight less than 3 KDa extracted from Xuanwei ham, Jinhua ham and mutton ham. UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS was used for composition analysis of peptides and homologous protein matching. Further, crude peptide ( less then 3 KDa) was purified using G-15 gel filtration chromatography, and the main antioxidant peptide identified. Analysis showed that mutton ham peptide (MHP) has the highest Fe2+ chelating ability, whereas Jinhua ham peptide (JHP) had the highest ABTS and DPPH free radical scavenging ability (P less then 0.05). A total of 346, 203 and 296 peptides were identified in JHP, Xuanwei ham peptides (XHP) and MHP, respectively. The more wine consumers high in self-reported expertise paid attention to the wine's reputation, the less they used feelings when tasting wines. In contrast, the more the wine tasters low in self-reported expertise paid attention to the wine's reputation, the more feelings they reported. Moreover, when considering positive and negative feelings separately, it appears that the more participants paid attention to the label, the lower the number of positive terms they tended to mention.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the synergistic antimicrobial effect of xenon light (XL) and citric acid (CA) combination against Escherichia coli O157H7, Salmonella Typhimurium, and Listeria monocytogenes on spinach leaves and determine the effect of XL-CA combination on quality of spinach leaves. The XL-CA combined treatment for 8 min synergistically decreased the cell counts of E. coli O157H7 and S. Typhimurium by 5.25 and 5.05 log CFU/cm2, respectively, and additively decreased the L. monocytogenes cells by 5.02 log unit on spinach. The mechanisms underlying synergistic lethal effect of the XL-CA combination were investigated. Qualitative and quantitative analyses revealed that the bacterial cell membrane damage was strongly associated with the synergistic antimicrobial effect of the XL-CA combination. Additionally, treatment with XL-CA combination for 8 min did not affect the quality attributes (color, total phenol contents, and texture) of spinach leaves. These results suggest that the XL-CA combination treatment can be effectively used to control major pathogens on fresh produce.The impacts of protein type, content and polymerization on in vitro starch digestibility of cooked sorghum noodles were investigated. Results showed that addition of exogenous proteins decreased the starch hydrolysis rate. The noodles added wheat protein (WP) exhibited the highest amount of resistant starch, followed by whey protein isolate (WPI) and egg white protein (EWP). In each group, the hydrolysis kinetic parameters were the lowest when protein addition amounts were 5% WP, 3% EWP and 3% WPI, respectively. The increase of protein polymerization degree induced by disulfide cross-links reduced the starch digestion rate of noodles. Animal-borne foods were considered the main source of transferring Salmonella to humans; however, route surveillance by genomic platforms along the food-chain is limited in China. Here, we proceeded to the application of whole genome sequencing in the epidemiological analysis of Salmonella isolated along the food-chain in Xinjiang, China. A total of 2408 samples were collected from farms, slaughterhouses, and markets, and subjected to the isolation of Salmonella strains. 314 (13.04%) of the samples were positive for Salmonella. The systematic review followed PRISMA guidelines, using seven electronic databases (PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus, Science Direct, Web of Science, gray literature research with Google Scholar, and patents with Google Patent tool), from inception to November 2020. Eighteen studies met the inclusion criteria evaluating 132 GFB samples. Five articles tested GI in vivo, eleven in vitro; and two studies tested both methods. The analysis showed that 60.7% (95% CI 40.2-78.1%) of the samples presented high glycemic indexes, evidencing a high glycemic profile for GFB. Only 18.2% (95% CI 11.7-27.2%) of the bread samples presented in the studies were classified as a low GI. Meta-analysis presented moderate/low heterogenicity between studies (I2 = 61% and less then 1% for both high and low GIs) and reinforced the proportion of high GIs. Lower GIs were found in formulations based on Colocasia esculenta flour or enriched with fiber, yogurt and curd cheese, sourdough, psyllium, hydrocolloids, enzymes, fructans, and resistant starch, highlighting the efficacy of these ingredients to lower GFBs' GI. The overall morbidity rate was 34.2% and death rate 15.7%. The detection of other ultrasound alterations and the alteration in the first trimester screening were significantly associated with the presence of pathology.

The role of allogeneic HSCT in Ph-ALL patients has been analysed through a multicentric study where data belonging to 70 patients diagnosed of this entity in different center that received HSCT between years 1998 and 2014, were reported by the Grupo Español de Trasplante Hematopoyético (GETH).
The performance of HSCT from year 2004, in first complete remission (CR) status with thymoglobulin (ATG) based conditioning had a favorable impact on overall survival (OS). HSTC performance from year 2004, in first CR with ATG-based conditioning in addition to acute graft versus host disease (aGvHD) development, increased event free survival (EFS). Treatment with imatinib as well as undetectable minimal residual disease (MRD) prior to HSCT, combined with aGvHD, reduced risk of relapse (RR). Patient age less than 10 years when HSCT, first CR and ATG-based conditioning were associated to a lower transplant related mortality (TRM).

Colonic atresia is a rare malformation accounting for 1.8-15% of all intestinal atresias. We present a 6-case series along with a bibliographic review.
This 6-case series consists of three female cases and three male cases diagnosed 24-84 hours following birth. They were all located in the right hemicolon. The most relevant clinical signs included abdominal distension, absence of defecation, and bilious to fecal vomit. Repairs included primary or step-by-step anastomoses for bowel transit reconstruction. One patient diagnosed at >72 hours of life died.

To study gastroesophageal reflux (GER) in children undergoing gastrostomy in a single pediatric institution.
A retrospective study of patients undergoing gastrostomy from 2000 to 2017 was carried out. Demographic data, clinical data, progression, and complications were recorded. GER was considered positive in patients with clinical signs requiring antisecretory treatment, prokinetic treatment, or anti-reflux surgery to control symptoms.
207 patients with a median age of 2 years [R 0.25-18] were included. An observational and analytical retrospective cohort study was carried out. Patients diagnosed with secondary or tertiary hyperparathyroidism from 2011 to 2018 undergoing total or subtotal parathyroidectomy were included - provided there was information available on pathological examination and surgical protocol.
N = 15 patients. A total of 53 parathyroid glands diagnosed with hyperplasia using either of the imaging methods were analyzed. For each method (ultrasonography and scintigraphy) and the combination of both, sensitivity and area under the curve were calculated, using pathological examination result as a reference. Ultrasonography and scintigraphy diagnostic match was 66%.

To develop and validate the efficacy of a 3D-printed screw-rod auxiliary system for unstable atlas fractures.
This research is a retrospective analysis, and a total of 14 patients, including 11 males and three females, were enrolled in our hospital from January 2017 to March 2019 who underwent occipitocervical fusion assisted by the 3D-printed screw-rod auxiliary system were reviewed, and with an average age of 53.21 ± 14.81 years, an average body mass index (BMI) of 23.61 ± 1.93 kg/m
. The operation time, blood loss and radiation times during the operation were recorded. The maximum fracture displacement values of pre- and post-operation were measured based on CT imaging. All screw grades were evaluated after surgery. The occipital-cervical 2 (O-C
) angle and occipitocervical inclination (OCI) angle of pre-operation, post-operation and the last following-up were measured. The dysphagia scale 3 months after surgery and at the last follow-up, the Neck Disability Index (NDI) 3 months after surgery and a = 0.201). The dysphagia scales of two patients were assessed as mild at 3 months after surgery, and the others were assessed as normal at 3 months after surgery. All patients' dysphagia scores returned to normal at the last follow-up. The average NDI and average neck Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores at the last follow-up were 2.53 and 8.41, respectively.

This has stimulated considerable research into renewable alternatives, and more recently, the development of alternative waste management strategies. Herein, the aim was to highlight recent developments in the catalytic chemical recycling of two commercial polyesters, namely poly(lactic acid) (PLA) and poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET). The concept of chemical recycling is first introduced, and associated opportunities/challenges are discussed within the context of the governing depolymerisation thermodynamics. Chemical recycling methods for PLA and PET are then discussed, with a particular focus on upcycling and the use of metal-based catalysts. Finally, the attention shifts to the emergence of new materials with the potential to modernise the plastics economy. Emerging opportunities and challenges are discussed within the context of industrial feasibility.

Objectives The aim of this study was to assess, across the first year after surgery, the influence of attachment insecurity, that is, avoidant and anxious tendencies, on body image, sexual activity, and side effects of treatments in women diagnosed with breast cancer.Design A total of 110 women with non-metastatic breast cancer were surveyed 2 weeks (T1), 3 months (T2), and 12 months (T3) after surgery.Methods Self-reported questionnaires were used to assess attachment tendencies (avoidance and anxiety), medical data (cancer stage, oncological treatment), sociodemographic data (age, socioeconomic level, relational status), and the three outcomes.Results Generalized linear modeling showed that (1) having more avoidant and anxious attachment tendencies predicted a more negative body image, as did being younger and having undergone a mastectomy; (2) having more avoidant attachment tendencies predicted being sexually inactive, as did having undergone neoadjuvant chemotherapy or adjuvant hormonal therapy, whereas being younger and in a committed relationship predicted being sexually active; and (3) attachment tendencies did not predict the intensity of side effects, whereas a higher cancer stage and being at the beginning of treatment predicted more side effects.Conclusions Women with avoidant and anxious attachment tendencies may be especially vulnerable to the consequences of oncological treatment, in particular regarding body image and sexual activity.Liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) mediated formation of membraneless organelles has been proposed to coordinate biological processes in space and time. Previously, the formation of phase-separated droplets was described as a unique property of HP1α. Here, we demonstrate that the positive net charge of the intrinsically disordered hinge region (IDR-H) of HP1 proteins is critical for phase separation and that the exchange of four acidic amino acids is sufficient to confer LLPS properties to HP1β. Surprisingly, the addition of mono-nucleosomes promoted H3K9me3-dependent LLPS of HP1β which could be specifically disrupted with methylated but not acetylated H3K9 peptides. HP1β mutants defective in H3K9me3 binding were less efficient in phase separationin vitro and failed to accumulate at heterochromatin in vivo. We propose that multivalent interactions of HP1β with H3K9me3-modified nucleosomes via its chromodomain and dimerization via its chromoshadow domain enable phase separation and contribute to the formation of heterochromatin compartments in vivo.Les Mills BODYPUMPTM is a resistance training group exercise class with a low load, high repetition format. Ten female BODYPUMPTM participants (age 41 ± 9 years, height 161.9 ± 3.8 cm, mass 67.7 ± 7.0 kg) performed 1 × 7 squats under four conditions, representing every combination of two depths (90° knee angle and 125° knee angle) and two loads (23% bodyweight and 38% bodyweight). The main effect of depth was significant for mean and peak activity of vastus lateralis and gluteus maximus, and peak activity of biceps femoris and lateral gastrocnemius. The main effect of load was significant for mean and peak activity of gluteus maximus and lateral gastrocnemius. There was no depth * load interaction. Repeated ANOVA analysis was used to compare each of the dependent variables for each of the 3 helmets across the 4 different locations. The interaction between helmet type and location was significant for hardness (F6,63 = 2.84, P = 0.032, Pη2 = 0.21), elastic modulus (F6,63 = 6.412, P less then 0.001, Pη2 = 0.38), and phase angle (F6,63 = 7.65, P less then 0.001, Pη2 = 0.42). Polycarbonate has a higher ability to dissipate mechanical energy making it the recommended superior choice for helmet shells. In addition, the results lead us to speculate that manufacturing causes changes in the molecular weight or the distribution of fillers across locations for polyethylene but not for polycarbonate since mechanical properties are fairly uniform over the surface of football helmets, at least within a given helmet.Purpose Voice feminization for transgender women remains a challenge. We hypothesized that ambulatory biofeedback could help extend the new vocal behavior to daily life.Materials and methods This prospective case study assessed the impact of two weeks of ambulatory vibrotactile biofeedback (VTBF) applied to one transgender woman, following two weeks of voice therapy (three 60-minute sessions). The VTBF was activated when the participant's voice was lower than 150 Hz for more than 500 ms and was accompanied by two 60-minute counseling sessions.Results The results showed that mean fo monitored in daily activities tended to increase following the two weeks of voice therapy (Δ = 8 Hz or 1 semitone) and then increased significantly immediately after the two weeks of VTBF (Δ = 13 Hz or 1.
