We find that employing fine-tuned transfer learning and CNN ensemble learning create end-to-end deep learning models with superior robustness compared to previously reported hybrid deep-learning/machine-learning models, and TCAV/eye-fixation comparison suggests the importance of three OCT report sub-images that are consistent with areas of interest fixated upon by OCT experts to detect glaucoma. Moreover, Zebrafish is having numerous advantages over other rodent models like ease in maintenance due to their small size; breeding power is more, transparency of embryos, overall reduced cost of experimentation and many more. Nowadays, it is considered as an ideal model to study the neurobehavioral aspects with relevance to humans. It is also used in varieties of scientific studies like genetics, neuroscience, pharmacology, and toxicology. In this manuscript, we have described the feasibility and importance of Zebrafish as a model for the screening of novel drugs for different neurological disorders.
    While phenobarbital (PB) is commonly used for the management of seizures in newborns and pediat-rics, its administration may accompany with acute poisoning. We aimed to review the literature to find out the frequency of PB poisonings in newborns and children with seizures.

    Literature search was performed by two independent reviewers to find relevant articles about PB toxicity in neo-nates and pediatrics that were treated for seizure.

    18 articles met the inclusion criteria and were included to this systematic review.   • Acinetobacter junii strain H11S-25, Nitratireductor sp. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/hpk1-in-2.html strain H11S-31 and Pseudomonas sp. strain H11S-28 were used at a density ratio of 9541 to construct high-efficiency oil-degrading consortium H. After a three-day biodegradation experiment, consortium H showed high degradation efficiencies of 74.2% and 65.7% for total alkanes and PAHs, respectively. On the other hand, recent advances in deep learning and transfer learning have shown significant potential in the quantitative medical imaging field, raising the research question of whether deep transfer learning features have predictive information in addition to radiomics features. In this study, using CT images from Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma (PDAC) patients recruited in two independent hospitals, we discovered most transfer learning features have weak linear relationships with radiomics features, suggesting a potential complementary relationship between these two feature sets. We also tested the prognostic performance for overall survival using four feature fusion and reduction methods for combining radiomics and transfer learning features and compared the results with our proposed risk score-based feature fusion method. It was shown that the risk score-based feature fusion method significantly improves the prognosis performance for predicting overall survival in PDAC patients compared to other traditional feature reduction methods used in previous radiomics studies (40% increase in area under ROC curve (AUC) yielding AUC of 0.84).Parental care is costly, thus theory predicts that parents should avoid caring for unrelated offspring. However, alloparenting has been reported in many taxa because it may increase the caregiver mating success or offspring survival. We experimentally investigated the existence of allopaternal care in two glassfrog species, Hyalinobatrachium chirripoi and Centrolene peristicta, and discussed possible costs and benefits. The accurate identification of the aganglionic segment depends on the histologic evaluation of multiple biopsies to determine the absence of ganglion cells in the tissue, which can be a time-consuming procedure. We investigate the feasibility of using a combination of label-free optical modalities, second harmonic generation (SHG); two-photon excitation autofluorescence (2PAF); and Raman spectroscopy (RS), to accurately locate and identify ganglion cells in murine intestinal tissue without the use of exogenous labels or dyes. We show that the image contrast provided by SHG and 2PAF signals allows for the visualization of the overall tissue morphology and localization of regions that may contain ganglion cells, while RS provides detailed multiplexed molecular information that can be used to accurately identify specific ganglion cells. Support vector machine, principal component analysis and linear discriminant analysis classification models were applied to the hyperspectral Raman data and showed that ganglion cells can be identified with a classification accuracy higher than 95%. Our findings suggest that a near real-time intraoperative histology method can be developed using these three optical modalities together that can aid pathologists and surgeons in rapid, accurate identification of ganglion cells to guide surgical decisions with minimal human intervention.The oligosaccharide required for asparagine (N)-linked glycosylation of proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is donated by the glycolipid Glc3Man9GlcNAc2-PP-dolichol. Building on our ability to recapitulate scramblase activity in proteoliposomes reconstituted with a crude mixture of ER membrane proteins, we developed a mass spectrometry-based 'activity correlation profiling' approach to identify scramblase candidates in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Data curation prioritized six polytopic ER membrane proteins as scramblase candidates, but reconstitution-based assays and gene disruption in the protist Trypanosoma brucei revealed, unexpectedly, that none of these proteins is necessary for M5-DLO scramblase activity.

Despite a history of more than three decades, many aspects of IP drug delivery remain poorly studied.Areas covered We outline the anatomy and physiology of the peritoneal cavity, including the pharmacokinetics of IP drug delivery. We discuss transport mechanisms governing tissue penetration of IP chemotherapy, and how these are affected by the biomechanical properties of the tumor stroma. We provide an overview of the current clinical evidence on IP chemotherapy in ovarian, colorectal, and gastric cancer. We discuss the current limitations of IP drug delivery and propose several potential areas of progress.Expert opinion The potential of IP drug delivery is hampered by off-label use of drugs developed for systemic therapy. The efficacy of IP chemotherapy for PM depends on cancer type, disease extent, and mode of drug delivery. The obtained results are compared with those of convective heating. For this, Fourier Transform-Infrared Spectroscopy was used to analyze the effects of microwave heating on different samples of bovine meat cooked in microwave ovens at three power levels of 700, 900 and 1100 W, and in conventional electric oven at the temperature of 170°C. An increase in intensity of methylene vibration bands after microwave cooking at 700 W for 3 min was more than that which occurred after microwave cooking at 900 and 1100 W for 2 min, showing that Maillard reaction depends on exposure time to microwaves. Also, the β-sheet contents at 1695 and 1635 cm-1 in meat samples heated for 2 min by microwave oven increased with increase in power level from 700 to 1100 W, showing that protein aggregation is strictly related to the power level of microwave heating.     The negative physical and mental health consequences of intimate partner violence (IPV) have been well-documented, as those who are exposed to trauma experience more physical health issues. Further, an abuser's direct access to a firearm drastically increases the risk for fatality, which can exacerbate ongoing stress and trauma in an abusive relationship. However, very little research has investigated the intersection of exposure to firearms and adverse health outcomes in the context of IPV.

    This study investigates the sensitivity of firearm exposure in IPV contexts by examining if abusive partner firearm ownership-regardless of actual use of a gun in the abuse-is associated with negative health outcomes.

    The research team administered questionnaires to IPV victims (N=215) from six domestic violence shelters across rural and urban locations in a single state.

    Having an abusive partner who owned a firearm was associated with significantly worse physical health-above and beyond IPV experienced in the relationship. Even so, IPV involving firearms was not significantly associated with physical health beyond partner firearm ownership. The relationship between partner firearm ownership and negative health outcomes was primarily attenuated by sleep disturbances among victims.

METHODS A convenience sample of 2095 registered hospital nurses was recruited from 25 provinces in mainland China from June 2019 to July 2019. Descriptive analyses were performed. Reliability and correlation coefficient analyses, exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analyses of data collected using the Chinese job crafting scale (C-JCS) were also calculated. FINDINGS The C-JCS has good validity and reliability. The goodness-of-fit indices for confirmatory factor analysis were acceptable (CFI = 0.933, NFI = 0.927, TLI = 0.920, IFI = 0.933). The total scale Cronbach's α coefficient was 0.920, and the coefficients for each dimension of this scale were between 0.804 and 0.894. CONCLUSION The C-JCS has good reliability and validity, which supports its use as an effective tool to measure the working level of job crafting among nurses in public hospitals in China. A rat penile graft dissection was designed based on the internal pudendal arteries and dorsal penile vein and includes the skin of the prepuce. A non-suture cuff technique was used to anastomose the graft vessels to the recipient superficial epigastric and femoral vessels. 77 penile transplantations were performed. Graft design yields suitable caliber and length of vessels at the radix of the penis. Anastomosis of the dorsal penile vein and the internal pudendal arteries insures optimal graft perfusion. The non-suture cuff technique allows for successful microvascular anastomosis by a single surgeon with an average overall operative time of 2.5 hours. Long-term graft survival (>30 days) was observed in syngeneic transplants. METHODS A convenience sample of 2095 registered hospital nurses was recruited from 25 provinces in mainland China from June 2019 to July 2019. Descriptive analyses were performed. Reliability and correlation coefficient analyses, exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analyses of data collected using the Chinese job crafting scale (C-JCS) were also calculated. FINDINGS The C-JCS has good validity and reliability. The goodness-of-fit indices for confirmatory factor analysis were acceptable (CFI = 0.933, NFI = 0.927, TLI = 0.920, IFI = 0.933). The total scale Cronbach's α coefficient was 0.920, and the coefficients for each dimension of this scale were between 0.804 and 0.894. CONCLUSION The C-JCS has good reliability and validity, which supports its use as an effective tool to measure the working level of job crafting among nurses in public hospitals in China. IMPLICATIONS FOR NURSE MANAGEMENT Nursing managers may use reliable and effective tools, including the C-JCS, to determine the level of job crafting at their institutions and to develop effective interventions to improve it. A rat penile graft dissection was designed based on the internal pudendal arteries and dorsal penile vein and includes the skin of the prepuce. A non-suture cuff technique was used to anastomose the graft vessels to the recipient superficial epigastric and femoral vessels. 77 penile transplantations were performed. Graft design yields suitable caliber and length of vessels at the radix of the penis. Anastomosis of the dorsal penile vein and the internal pudendal arteries insures optimal graft perfusion. The non-suture cuff technique allows for successful microvascular anastomosis by a single surgeon with an average overall operative time of 2.5 hours. Long-term graft survival (>30 days) was observed in syngeneic transplants. Then, the BGSs in the fiber with the presence of structural cracks, measured by the DPP-BOTDA, are numerically simulated, from which the crack-induced irregular features of the BGS are summarized. Based these irregular features, new structural crack detection and quantification methods are proposed, which are found to be independent of structural stain. Finally, an experiment is conducted on a simple supported reinforced concrete (RC) beam. The results demonstrate that by using the BGS measured by the DPP-BOTDA, the proposed structural crack identification method successfully detects the occurrence of structural cracks and relatively accurately predicts the crack widths.Opuntia ficus-indica (L.) A total of 21 metabolites, mainly phenolic acids and flavonols, were identified using ultraperformance liquid chromatography photodiode detector quadrupole/time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-PDA-Q/TOF-MS). Significant differences were found in the phenolic concentrations of the investigated varieties. The highest amount of phenolic compounds (266.67 mg/kg dry matter) were found in the "Nopal espinoso" variety, while the "Fresa" variety was characterized by the lowest content (34.07 mg/kg DM) of these compounds.

In the absence of overt non-cardiac causes of breathlessness, HFpEF can be suspected if there is a normal left ventricular (LV) ejection fraction, no significant heart valve disease or cardiac ischaemia, and at least one typical risk factor. This study has a qualitative design. The method chosen is a phenomenological hermeneutical exploration of personal experiences. Results reveal that busyness is experienced as a disparity between perceived necessary tasks and time available to accomplish them. Busyness has an outer dimension of events and a dimension of internal processes. Busyness is experienced as acceptable to some extent, but feels strongly uncomfortable if important tasks remain undone. The intolerable busyness raises negative emotions, steals energy and weakens health. Coping with busyness seems to be a personal and individual struggle, even though health service enterprises are a collective matter. © 2020 The Authors. Interviewees included staff in administrative, quality improvement, informatics, front desk, and clinical roles (providers, nurses, behavioral health staff), and community health workers. Interviews focused on how each organization integrated EHR-based SDH screening into clinic workflows, and factors that affected adoption of this practice change. Factors that facilitated effective integration of EHR-based SDH screening were (1) external incentives and motivators that prompted introduction of this screening (eg, grant requirements, encouragement from professional associations); (2) presence of an SDH screening advocate; and (3) maintaining flexibility with regard to workflow approaches to optimally align them with clinic needs, interests, and resources. Results suggest that it is possible to purposefully create an environment conducive to successfully implementing EHR-based SDH screening. Approaching the task of implementing SDH screening into clinic workflows as understanding the interplay of context-dependent factors, rather than following a step-by-step process, may be critical to success in primary care settings.Some research supports high-fat carbohydrate (CHO)-restricted diets for weight and fat loss and improvement of cardiovascular disease risk factors. To test this, a randomized crossover study was designed. Subjects (17 obese men and women [BMI 30-38 kg/m2]) were fed three diets (supplying 1600 and 2200 kilocalories (kcal)/day for women and men, respectively) for 4 weeks, with each trial separated by 4-week washout periods. One CHO-restricted diet (10% CHO, 50% fat, and 40% protein content) was rich in plant foods and mushrooms, while the other CHO-restricted diet included more animal foods (10% CHO, 60% fat, and 30% protein content). The third diet was lower in fat and protein content (LF) and higher in CHOs (61% CHO, 21% fat, and 18% protein content). Body composition was assessed through hydrostatic weighing before and after each diet trial. Fasting blood samples were collected weekly for analysis of hormones and lipids. Data were analyzed through repeated measures analysis of variance with post hoc paired comparison t-tests. Weight and fat loss were similar (P > .05) among trials. Subjects lost lean mass (P  less then  .05) during CHO-restricted trials, but not in the LF trial. For the victims, it often leads to devastating consequences such as physical injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Research on IPV has been extensively conducted for several decades. However, most studies have focused on male-to-female perpetration, and men's victimization has been relatively neglected. This study aims to explore men's IPV experiences within the context of Korean society, which is characterized by strong gender norms that may impede efforts to understand how men are victimized. Eleven Korean male IPV victims participated in semi-structured phone or in-person interviews lasting 1 to 2 hr, all of which were audio-recorded and transcribed. The transcriptions were qualitatively analyzed using a phenomenological method suggested by Giorgi. In total, six themes were revealed in the data (a) living with violence, (b) enduring the violent relationship, (c) feeling helpless, (d) ending the relationship, (e) suffering from trauma, and (f) perceiving male victimization in society. Body composition was assessed through hydrostatic weighing before and after each diet trial. Fasting blood samples were collected weekly for analysis of hormones and lipids. Data were analyzed through repeated measures analysis of variance with post hoc paired comparison t-tests. Weight and fat loss were similar (P > .05) among trials. Subjects lost lean mass (P  less then  .05) during CHO-restricted trials, but not in the LF trial. This study aims to explore men's IPV experiences within the context of Korean society, which is characterized by strong gender norms that may impede efforts to understand how men are victimized. Eleven Korean male IPV victims participated in semi-structured phone or in-person interviews lasting 1 to 2 hr, all of which were audio-recorded and transcribed. The transcriptions were qualitatively analyzed using a phenomenological method suggested by Giorgi. In total, six themes were revealed in the data (a) living with violence, (b) enduring the violent relationship, (c) feeling helpless, (d) ending the relationship, (e) suffering from trauma, and (f) perceiving male victimization in society. Our findings are meaningful in terms of demonstrating how masculinity in one society can shape the thoughts, emotions, reactions, and behaviors of male victims. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first research work revealing that the complex spatially-varying and depth-dependent blurring effects can be accurately learned from a number of real-captured image pairs instead of being hand-crafted as before. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed deep learning-based method significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art defocus kernel estimation techniques and thus leads to better out-of-focus compensation for extending the dynamic ranges of digital projectors.The image mapper plays a key role in the imaging process of the image mapping spectrometer (IMS), which is a snapshot imaging spectrometer with superiority in light throughput, temporal resolution, and compactness. Cronobacter strains revealed a high degree of genetic diversity among the isolates tested. Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) distinguished 75 clonal groups, and the biggest cluster consisted of four strains. Multilocus sequence typing (MLST) method displayed 43 sequence types (STs), of which ST1, ST4, ST8, ST64, ST148 and ST201 were most frequently identified. Meanwhile, two new sequence types were discovered and added to the PubMLST international database. In conclusion, NGS analysis showed that the prokaryotic community composition was similar in GSE and NIT, while CHE varied in both the composition and relative abundance of different taxa. In this study the phenotypic and genomic characterization of two Arcobacter butzleri (Ab) strains (Ab 34_O and Ab 39_O) isolated from pre-cut ready-to-eat vegetables were performed. Results provided useful data about their taxonomy and their overall virulence potential with particular reference to the antibiotic and heavy metal susceptibility. These features were moreover compared with those of two Ab strains isolated from shellfish and a genotaxonomic assessment of the Ab species was performed. The two Ab isolated from vegetables were confirmed to belong to the Aliarcobacter butzleri species by 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, MLST and genomic analyses. The genome-based taxonomic assessment of the Ab species brought to the light the possibility to define different subspecies reflecting the source of isolation, even though further genomes from different sources should be available to support this hypothesis. The strains isolated from vegetables in the same geographic area shared the same distribution of COGs with a prevalence of the cluster "inorganic ion transport and metabolism", consistent with the lithotrophic nature of Arcobacter spp.
