    Men who have sex with men (MSM) living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) are more likely to suffer from depressive symptoms (depression hereafter). This is a comprehensive meta-analysis of the prevalence of depression in HIV-infected MSM.

    Relevant publications were systematically searched in PubMed, PsycINFO, EMBASE, Cochrane Library and Web of Science. Comparative and epidemiological studies with prevalence of depression as measured by the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) were included. The prevalence of depression was pooled using the random-effects model.

    A total of 18 studies with 7653 MSM with HIV and 3395 MSM without HIV were included in the meta-analysis. The pooled prevalence of depression in MSM living with HIV was 43% (95%CI 32%-53%). Compared to MSM without HIV, MSM living with HIV were more likely to be depressed (OR = 1.46, 1.05-2.03). Subgroup and meta-regression analyses revealed that different CES-D cut-off values and survey year had significant moderating effects on the prevalence of depression.

    Depression was common in MSM living with HIV. Considering the negative effects of depression on health outcomes and wellbeing, regular screening for depression and effective treatment and interventions should be developed for this vulnerable population.

    Alcohol use remains abundant in patients with traumatic injury. Previous studies have suggested that serum carbohydrate-deficient transferrin (%dCDT) levels, relative to blood alcohol levels (BALs), may better differentiate episodic binge drinkers from sustained heavy consumers in admitted patients with traumatic injury. We characterized %dCDT levels and BAL levels to differentiate binge drinkers from sustained heavy consumers in admitted trauma patients and their associations with outcomes.

    This prospective, cross-sectional, observational study assessed %dCDT and BAL levels in admitted male and female patients with traumatic injury (≥18y) at an American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma level-1 center from July 2014 to June 2016. We designated patients with %dCDT levels ≥1.7% (CDT+) as chronic alcohol users and dichotomized acutely intoxicated patients using three different BAL-level thresholds. Primary outcomes included in-hospital complications, along with prolonged ventilation and intensive careear prospective, cross-sectional, and observational study, we found that %dCDT levels, relative to BAL levels, may better stratify admitted patients with traumatic injury into acute versus chronic alcohol users, identifying those at higher risk for in-hospital complications.

  • Mucopolysaccharidosis type I (MPS I) is a rare autosomal recessive inherited disease, caused by deficiency of the enzyme α-L-iduronidase, resulting in accumulation of the glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) dermatan and heparan sulfate in organs and tissues. If untreated, patients with the severe phenotype die within the first decade of life. Early diagnosis is crucial to prevent the development of fatal disease manifestations, prominently cardiac and respiratory disease, as well as cognitive impairment. However, the initial symptoms are nonspecific and impede early diagnosis. This review discusses common phenotypic manifestations in the order in which they develop. Similarities and differences in the three animal models for MPS I are highlighted. Earliest symptoms, which present during the first 6 months of life, include hernias, coarse facial features, recurrent rhinitis and/or upper airway obstructions in the absence of infection, and thoracolumbar kyphosis. During the next 6 months, loss of hearing, corneal clouding, and further musculoskeletal dysplasias develop. Finally, late manifestations including lower airway obstructions and cognitive decline emerge. Cardiac symptoms are common in MPS I and can develop in infancy. The underlying pathogenesis is in the intra- and extracellular accumulation of partially degraded GAGs and infiltration of cells with enlarged lysosomes causing tissue expansion and bone deformities. These interfere with the proper arrangement of collagen fibrils, disrupt nerve fibers, and cause devastating secondary pathophysiological cascades including inflammation, oxidative stress, and other disruptions to intracellular and extracellular homeostasis. A greater understanding of the natural history of MPS I will allow early diagnosis and timely management of the disease facilitating better treatment outcomes.In this study, light-responsive nano-assemblies with light-switchable size based on photoacids are presented. Anionic disulfonated napthol derivates and cationic dendrimer macroions are used as building blocks for electrostatic self-assembly. Nanoparticles are already formed under the exclusion of light as a result of electrostatic interactions. Upon photoexcitation, an excited-state dissociation of the photoacidic hydroxyl group takes place, which leads to a more highly charged linker molecule and, subsequently, to a change in size and structure of the nano-assemblies. The effects of the charge ratio and the concentration on the stability have been examined with absorption spectroscopy and ζ-potential measurements. The influence of the chemical structure of three isomeric photoacids on the size and shape of the nanoscale aggregates has been studied by dynamic light scattering and atomic force microscopy, revealing a direct correlation of the strength of the photoacid with the changes of the assemblies upon irradiation.The aim of this study was to describe the clinical signs, radiographic, endoscopic and CT findings, cytological and microbiological findings and treatments of pulmonary diseases in sea turtles, in order to obtain an accurate diagnosis that avoids unnecessary therapy and antibiotic-resistance phenomena. In total, 14 loggerheads (Caretta caretta), with clinical and/or radiographic findings of pulmonary pathology, were assessed through various combinations of clinical, radiological, CT, endoscopic examination and bronchoalveolar lavage, which recovered fluid for cytologic and microbiologic analysis. In all cases, radiographic examination led to a diagnosis of pulmonary disorders-4 unilateral and 10 bilateral. All bacteria cultured were identified as Gram-negative. Antibiotic resistance was greater than 70% for all beta-lactams tested. In addition, all bacterial strains were 100% resistant to colistin sulfate and tetracycline. Specific antibiotic therapies were formulated for seven sea turtles using Enrofloxacin, and for four sea turtles using ceftazidime. In two turtles, antibiotic therapy was not included due to the presence of antibiotic resistance against all the antibiotics evaluated. In both cases, the coupage technique and environmental management allowed the resolution of the lung disease without antibiotics. All 14 sea turtles were released **** into the sea. Radiographic examination must be considered the gold standard for screening sea turtles that show respiratory signs or abnormal buoyancy. Susceptibility testing with antimicrobials allowed appropriate therapy, including the reduction of antibiotic-resistance.This paper presents an experimental investigation on geopolymer coatings (GPC) in terms of surface protection of civil structures. The GPC mixtures were prepared with a quadruple precursor simultaneously containing fly ash (FA), ground granulated blast-furnace **** (GBFS), metakaolin (MK), and Portland cement (OPC). Setting time, compressive along with adhesive strength and permeability, were tested and interpreted from a perspective of potential applications. The preferred GPC with favorable setting time (not shorter than 120 min) and desirable compressive strength (not lower than 35 MPa) was selected from 85 mixture formulations. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/iwp-4.html The results indicate that balancing strength and setting behavior is viable with the aid of the multi-componential precursor and the mixture design based on total molar ratios of key oxides or chemical elements. The induced charge passed based on a rapid test of coated concrete specimens with the preferred GPC was 30% lower than that of the uncoated ones. Setting time of GPC was positively correlated with η[Si/(Na+Al)]. An abrupt increase of setting time occurred when the molar ratio was greater than 1.1. Compressive strength of GPC was positively affected by mass contents of ground granulated blast furnace ****, metakaolin and ordinary Portland cement, and was negatively affected by mass content of fly ash, respectively. Sustained seawater immersion impaired the strength of GPC to a negligible extent. Overall, GPC potentially serves a double purpose of satisfying the usage requirements and achieving a cleaner future.

Although biochemical and structural characterizations of galectin-10 have been done, its biological role and molecular mechanism are still unclear, and few X-ray structures of galectin-10 in complex with monosaccharides/oligosaccharides have been reported. Here, X-ray structures of galectin-10 in complexes with seven monosaccharides are presented with biochemical analyses to detect interactions of galectin-10 with monosaccharides/oligosaccharides. Galectin-10 forms a homo-dimer in the face-to-face orientation, and the monosaccharides bind to the carbohydrate recognition site composed of amino acid residues from two galectin-10 molecules of dimers, suggesting that galectin-10 dimer likely captures the monosaccharides in solution and in vivo. d-Glucose, d-allose, d-arabinose, and D-N-acetylgalactosamine bind to the interfaces between galectin-10 dimers in crystals, and they affect the stability of molecular packing in crystals, leading to easy-dissolving of CLCs, and/or inhibiting the formation of CLCs. Furthermore, siRNA-mediated knockdown of the vitamin D receptor (VDR) decreased the agrin-induced AChR clustering. 1,25D increased the expression of rapsyn, which is necessary for AChR clustering, while demonstrating no effect on other neuromuscular junction-related genes. Our previous work (Nourski et al., 2018, J Neurosci 388441-52) examined effects of general anesthesia on short- and long-term novelty detection. GD effects were suppressed at subhypnotic doses of propofol, suggesting that they may be more related to task engagement than consciousness per se. The present study addressed this hypothesis by comparing cortical responses to auditory novelty during passive versus active listening conditions in awake listeners. Subjects were seven adult neurosurgical patients undergoing chronic invasive monitoring for medically intractable epilepsy. LGD stimuli were sequences of four identical vowels followed by a fifthd spatial extent between the two conditions. In contrast, GD effects (AEPs, high gamma and alpha suppression) were greatly enhanced during the active condition in all studied brain areas. The prevalence of high gamma GD effects was positively correlated with individual subjects' task performance. The data demonstrate distinct task engagement-related effects on responses to auditory novelty across the auditory cortical processing hierarchy. Here, X-ray structures of galectin-10 in complexes with seven monosaccharides are presented with biochemical analyses to detect interactions of galectin-10 with monosaccharides/oligosaccharides. However, the mechanisms through which 1,25D functions in this tissue remain to be elucidated. Recent studies have shown that vitamin D signaling regulates neuromuscular maintenance and improves locomotion in mice. In the present study, we examined the effects of 1,25D on neuromuscular synaptogenesis by measuring clustering of acetylcholine receptors (AChRs) in C2C12 myotubes. 1,25D treatment enhanced the agrin-induced AChR clustering in myotubes compared to treatment with agrin alone. Furthermore, siRNA-mediated knockdown of the vitamin D receptor (VDR) decreased the agrin-induced AChR clustering. 1,25D increased the expression of rapsyn, which is necessary for AChR clustering, while demonstrating no effect on other neuromuscular junction-related genes. In addition, rapsyn expression was dependent on 1,25D-VDR signaling. The local/global deviant (LGD) stimulus paradigm engages auditory predictive coding over short (local deviance, LD) and long (global deviance, GD) time scales, and has been used to assay disruption of auditory predictive coding upon loss of consciousness. Our previous work (Nourski et al., 2018, J Neurosci 388441-52) examined effects of general anesthesia on short- and long-term novelty detection. GD effects were suppressed at subhypnotic doses of propofol, suggesting that they may be more related to task engagement than consciousness per se. The present study addressed this hypothesis by comparing cortical responses to auditory novelty during passive versus active listening conditions in awake listeners. Subjects were seven adult neurosurgical patients undergoing chronic invasive monitoring for medically intractable epilepsy. LGD stimuli were sequences of four identical vowels followed by a fifthd spatial extent between the two conditions. In contrast, GD effects (AEPs, high gamma and alpha suppression) were greatly enhanced during the active condition in all studied brain areas. The prevalence of high gamma GD effects was positively correlated with individual subjects' task performance. The data demonstrate distinct task engagement-related effects on responses to auditory novelty across the auditory cortical processing hierarchy. Eleven elite boulderers (7 male) volunteered to participate (age=23.3±4.5 y; mass=68.2±9.7 kg; stature=1.73±0.06 m; bodyfat %=10.4±5%). Subjects completed incremental treadmill running exercise to determine maximal capacities. On a separate day, they undertook a simulated Olympic-style competition comprising five boulder problems, each separated by 5-min rest. Pulmonary ventilation, gas exchange, and heart rate were assessed throughout. Total climbing time was 18.9±2.7 min. Bouldering elicited a peak V̇O2 of 35.8±7.3 mL∙kg-1∙min-1 (~75% of treadmill maximum) and a peak heart rate of 162±14 b∙min-1 (~88% of maximum). Subjects spent 22.9±8.6% of climbing time above the gas exchange threshold. At exercise cessation, there was an abrupt and significant increase in tidal volume (1.4±0.4 vs. 1.8±0.4 L; p=0.006, d=0.83) despite unchanged minute ventilation. Cardiorespiratory parameters returned to baseline within 4 min of the rest period. Competitive bouldering elicits substantial cardiorespiratory demand and evidence of tidal volume constraint. Further studies are warranted to explore the effect of cardiorespiratory training on climbing performance.     We recruited 103 RA patients, 105 non-RA patients (osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, systemic lupus erythematosus) and 59 healthy controls. CTHRC1, 14-3-3η, anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody (anti-CCP), anti-mutated citrullinated vimentin antibody (anti-MCV), rheumatoid factor and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) levels were measured, and their diagnostic value for RA evaluated and compared.

    All laboratory indices were elevated in RA (
    <0.05). Of these, anti-MCV had the highest sensitivity (86.4%) and anti-CCP the highest specificity (94.5%). The areas under the curve (AUC) of CTHRC1, 14-3-3η, anti-CCP, anti-MCV, rheumatoid factor and ESR were 0.84, 0.81, 0.89, 0.91, 0.85 and 0.77 respectively (all

Investigating the long-term outcome of sepsis survivors has revealed an unexpected susceptibility to cancer long after discharge from intensive care unit. Nonetheless it is noteworthy that an acute septic episode may harbor anti-tumoral properties under particular circumstances. Relevant double-hit animal models have provided clues to whether and how a bacterial sepsis may impact on malignant tumor growth.

Sixty-two female participants aged 18-25 were randomly assigned to one of three conditions positive CMC, negative CMC, and blog. Self-report measures of state anxiety were taken at baseline; after participants had been given instructions about the anxiety-inducing task; after 10 minutes of CMC/blog writing; and after the anxiety-inducing task had been completed. Results showed that participants in the positive CMC condition showed a significant and moderate decrease in anxiety following the CMC, whereas those in the negative CMC condition showed a nonsignificant but moderate increase in anxiety following the CMC. Anxiety remained relatively unaffected by the blog condition. After completing the anxiety-inducing task, there were no differences in anxiety scores between groups. The findings show that CMC can be beneficial for relieving state anxiety, but the valence of the communication is crucial. This has implications for advice and training given to those participating in and supporting CMC where mental health issues might be discussed.Curcumin (CM) is a natural polyphenolic compound with multiple biomedical functions. Aim to study the effects of micronization on the biological functions of CM, we investigated the antibacterial activity of original CM and CM NPs upon Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In vitro, the minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC) assay, solid-medium spot assay, growth kinetics assay and morphologic observation using atomic force microscopy (AFM) confirmed that the anti-P. aeruginosa activity of CM NPs was enhanced compared to original CM. Moreover, CM NPs also showed stronger inhibition for adhesion and biofilm formation of P. aeruginosa compared to original CM. There is less known about the influence of health-related stigma and racial bias on the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) of children with SCD. In the present study, we assessed these relationships and identified differences across demographic factors (i.e. age, gender). Design Data was collected from African American children with SCD aged 8-16 years (57% male, 63% HbSS). Children completed the Childhood Stigma Scale (adapted for SCD), the Child Perceptions of Racism in Children and Youth scale, and the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory Sickle Cell Disease Module. Caregivers provided demographic information. Results In the first regression model, health-related stigma (p = .007) predicted HRQOL, but neither age nor gender were significant predictors. In the second regression model, age (p = .03) predicted HRQOL, but neither gender nor racial bias were significant predictors. Of interest, there was a significant interaction between age, gender, and racial bias (p = .02). Specifically, older girls who reported high levels of perceived racial bias had poorer HRQOL. Conclusions Our study highlights the need for increased awareness about the effects of health-related stigma and racial bias on HRQOL for children with SCD, particularly for older girls who endorse racial bias. Our findings will guide future stigma and bias reduction interventions that may meet the needs of older girls with SCD.
    Many European-trained doctors (ETDs) recruited to work in rural district hospitals in South Africa have insufficient generalist competencies for the range of practice required. Africa Health Placements recruits ETDs to work in rural hospitals in Africa. Many of these doctors feel inadequately prepared. The Stellenbosch University Ukwanda Centre for Rural Health is launching a Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Medicine to help prepare doctors for such work.

    To determine the competencies gap for ETDs working in rural district hospitals in South Africa to inform the curriculum of the PG Dip (Rural Medicine).

    Nine hospitals in the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga were purposefully selected by Africa Health Placements as receiving ETDs. An online survey was developed asking about the most important competencies and weaknesses for ETDs when working rurally. The clinical manager and any ETDs currently working in each hospital were invited to complete the survey.

    Surveys were completed by 19 ETDs and five clinical managers. The top clinical competencies in relation to 10 specific domains were identified. The results also indicate broader competencies required, specific skills gaps, the strengths that ETDs bring to South Africa and how ETDs prepare themselves for working in this context.

    This study identifies the important competency gaps among ETDs and provides useful direction for the diploma and other future training initiatives. The diploma faculty must reflect on these findings and ensure the curriculum is aligned with these gaps.

Self-report measures of state anxiety were taken at baseline; after participants had been given instructions about the anxiety-inducing task; after 10 minutes of CMC/blog writing; and after the anxiety-inducing task had been completed. Results showed that participants in the positive CMC condition showed a significant and moderate decrease in anxiety following the CMC, whereas those in the negative CMC condition showed a nonsignificant but moderate increase in anxiety following the CMC. Anxiety remained relatively unaffected by the blog condition. After completing the anxiety-inducing task, there were no differences in anxiety scores between groups. The findings show that CMC can be beneficial for relieving state anxiety, but the valence of the communication is crucial. Design Data was collected from African American children with SCD aged 8-16 years (57% male, 63% HbSS). Children completed the Childhood Stigma Scale (adapted for SCD), the Child Perceptions of Racism in Children and Youth scale, and the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory Sickle Cell Disease Module. Caregivers provided demographic information. Results In the first regression model, health-related stigma (p = .007) predicted HRQOL, but neither age nor gender were significant predictors. In the second regression model, age (p = .03) predicted HRQOL, but neither gender nor racial bias were significant predictors. Many European-trained doctors (ETDs) recruited to work in rural district hospitals in South Africa have insufficient generalist competencies for the range of practice required. The Stellenbosch University Ukwanda Centre for Rural Health is launching a Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Medicine to help prepare doctors for such work. To determine the competencies gap for ETDs working in rural district hospitals in South Africa to inform the curriculum of the PG Dip (Rural Medicine). Rural district hospitals in South Africa. The top clinical competencies in relation to 10 specific domains were identified. The results also indicate broader competencies required, specific skills gaps, the strengths that ETDs bring to South Africa and how ETDs prepare themselves for working in this context. This study identifies the important competency gaps among ETDs and provides useful direction for the diploma and other future training initiatives.     In this population-based study, data from the 2000-2012 California Cancer Registry was used to identify patients with stage II/III breast or colorectal cancer. Patient residence at time of diagnosis was linked by census tract to food desert using the USDA Food Access Research Atlas. Treatment and outcomes were compared by food desert residential status.

    Among 64,987 female breast cancer patients identified, 66.8% were < 65years old, and 5.7% resided in food deserts. Five-year survival for food desert residents was 78% compared with 80% for non-desert residents (p < 0.0001). Among 48,666 colorectal cancer patients identified, 50.4% were female, 39% were > 65years old, and 6.4% resided in food deserts. Five-year survival for food desert residents was 60% compared with 64% for non-desert residents (p < 0.001). Living in food deserts was significantly associated with diabetes, tobacco use, poor insurance coverage, and low socioeconomic status (p < 0.05) for both cancers. There was no significant difference in rates of surgery or chemotherapy by food desert residential status for either diagnosis. Multivariable analyses showed that food desert residence was associated with highermortality.

    The aim of this study is to evaluate outcomes in patients with peritoneal metastasis of colorectal cancer (pmCRC) who underwent cytoreductive surgery and intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS/IPC) in relation to the location of the primary tumor. Regional therapy, including cytoreductive surgery and intraperitoneal chemotherapy, has been associated with improved survival in patients with pmCRC. Location of the primary tumor has been shown to be prognostic in patients with metastasis.

    A retrospective review was performed for all patients who underwent complete cytoreduction and intraperitoneal chemotherapy from 2010 to 2017, examining patient and tumor characteristics, overall and recurrence-free survival, recurrence patterns, and tumor mutational profiles.

    Ninety-three patients were included in the study 49 (53%) with a right-sided and 44 (47%) with a left-sided primary tumor. Patients with a right-sided tumor had significantly shorter recurrence-free survival (median, 6.3months; 95% CI, 4.7-8.1months vs 12.3months; 95% CI, 3.6-21.7months; P = 0.02) and overall survival (median, 36.6months; 95% CI, 26.4-46.9months vs 83.3months; 95% CI 44.2-122.4months; P = 0.03). BRAF and KRAS mutations were more frequent in right-sided tumors, and APC and TP53 mutations were more frequent in left-sided tumors, which were more chromosomally instable. BRAF mutations were associated with early recurrence.

Surgery alone is curative for the vast majority of colon cancer patients. Currently, surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy can achieve long term survival in about two-thirds of colon cancer patients with nodal involvement. Adjuvant chemotherapy is recommended for all patients with stage III colon cancer, while the benefit in stage II patients is not unequivocally established despite several large clinical trials. Contemporary research in early stage colon cancer is focused on minimally invasive surgical techniques, strategies to limit treatment-related toxicities, precise patient selection for adjuvant therapy, utilization of molecular and clinicopathologic information to personalize therapy and exploration of new therapies exploiting the evolving knowledge of tumor biology.     Pancreatic cancer (PC) mortality remains high despite advances in therapy. Combination chemoradiotherapy offers modest survival benefit over monotherapy with either. Fiducial markers serve as needed landmarks for image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT). Traditionally, these markers were placed surgically or percutaneously with limitations of each. The development of new antibacterial nanostructured surfaces shows excellent prospects for application in medicine as next-generation biomaterials. The physico-mechanical interactions between these nanostructured surfaces and bacteria lead to bacterial killing or prevention of bacterial attachment and subsequent biofilm formation, and thus are promising in circumventing bacterial infections.     This pilot series comprises a retrospective analysis of gw-NIPS and clinical outcome data from 42 singleton pregnancies where one parent carried a balanced reciprocal translocation. Gw-NIPS was performed between August 2015 and March 2018. Inclusion criteria required at least one translocation segment to be ≥15 Mb in size.

    Depression is a common comorbidity in multiple sclerosis. Depression in MS often requires treatment due to its negative impact on quality of life, functioning, and MS outcomes. However, there have been very few randomized controlled trials of treatment of depression in MS. Most reviews of this topic have consequently presented a predominantly negative assessment of antidepressant treatment, concluding, for example, that there is insufficient evidence to guide treatment or that evidence only exists for a few uncommon antidepressant medications or forms of treatment.

    This review will provide a summary of currently available literature on depression in MS, with an emphasis on the clinical utility of available information. This includes information from published therapeutic trials, but also how general aspects and principles of depression treatment can guide neurotherapeutics in this area.

    Management of depression in MS should be guided primarily by available evidence on depression treatment and not exclusively by the small and inadequate literature of randomized controlled trials. Differential diagnosis is important since depression manifests across a broad spectrum of morbidity in MS, a reality that has real-world implications for treatment.     We searched Medline, Embase, Web of Science, and Toxicology Data Network-TOXLINE (inception to 8-July-2020), clinical trial registries, and product monographs for any clinical trials, observational studies or case reports examining AEs to ocrelizumab. Studies with/without a comparator drug or placebo were eligible.

    Seventy-eight records were included (4 randomized controlled trials (RCTs), 4 open-label trials, 29 observational studies, and 27 case reports). AEs affected 2756/4498 (61.3%) of ocrelizumab-exposed patients. The most common AEs were infections (n=1342, 39.2% of ocrelizumab-exposed patients) and infusion-related reactions (n=1391, 26.2%). Compared to beta-interferon, infections were more likely in ocrelizumab-exposed patients (Risk Ratio (RR)=1.10; 95% confidence interval (CI)1.01-1.19), including herpes-related (RR=1.75; 95%CI1.11-2.76), respiratory tract-related (RR=1.42; 95%CI1.10-1.84 and RR=1.61;; 95%CI1.10-1.84 and RR=1.61; 95%CI1.10-2.35), nasopharyngitis (RR=1.47; 95%CI1.13-1.90), and rhinitis (RR=4.00; 95%CI1.13-14.14). Infusion-related reactions (RR range 1.57-4.42) were more common for ocrelizumab versus placebo or beta-interferon. From pooled analyses (three RCTs), the risk of 'any' serious AE did not differ significantly between the ocrelizumab and comparator groups.
