    To examine the association of sleep duration and quality in early pregnancy with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), and explore their interaction effect on GDM.

    Participants from 2 hospitals were enrolled in this case-control study between April 2018 and November 2020. Sleep duration and quality were measured using the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI).

    A total of 1300 participants (396 GDM and 904 controls) were included. After adjusting for potential confounders, higher global PSQI scores or poor sleep quality were associated with GDM with odds ratios of 1.13 (95% CI 1.07, 1.19, p < 0.001) and 1.75 (95% CI 1.29, 2.38, p < 0.001), respectively; sleep duration < 7h, 9-9.9h and ≥ 10h were all associated with increased GDM with odds ratios of 4.28 (95% CI 2.51, 7.31, p < 0.001), 1.69 (95% CI 1.20, 2.39, p = 0.003), and 4.42 (95% CI 3.01, 6.50, p < 0.001), respectively. As part of ongoing research to explore the chemical diversity and biologically active compounds from natural resources, two new coumaric acid-aliphatic alcohol hybrids, ginkwanghols A (1) and B (2) were isolated from the leaves of G. biloba. The coumaric acid-aliphatic alcohol hybrids of natural products have rarely been reported. The structures of the new compounds were determined by extensive NMR spectroscopic analysis, HRESI-MS, and quantum chemical ECD calculations, and by comparing the experimental HRESI-MS/MS spectrum of chemically transformed compound 1a with the predicted HRESI-MS/MS spectra proposed from CFM-ID 3.0, a software tool for MS/MS spectral prediction and MS-based compound identification. Using asocial network approach, the aim of this study is to explore relationships between characteristics of medical students' co-regulatory networks, perceived learning opportunities, and self-regulated learning.

    The authors surveyed 403 undergraduate medical students during their clinical clerkships (response rate 65.5%). Using multiple regression analysis, structural equation modelling techniques, and analysis of variance, the authors explored relationships between co-regulatory network characteristics (network size, network diversity, and interaction frequency), students' perceptions of learning opportunities in the workplace setting, and self-reported self-regulated learning.

    The present study reinforces the importance of co-regulatory networks for medical students' self-regulated learning during clinical clerkships. Findings imply that supporting development of strong networks aimed at frequent co-regulatory interactions may enhance medical students' self-regulated learning in challenging clinical learning environments.   • During a field experiment applying broiler manure for fertilization of agricultural land, we detected viable Clostridioides (also known as Clostridium) difficile in broiler faeces, manure, dust and fertilized soil. A large diversity of toxigenic C. difficile isolates was recovered, including PCR ribotypes common from human disease. Genomic relatedness of C. difficile isolates from dust and from soil, recovered more than 2 years after fertilization, traced their origins to the specific chicken farm that had delivered the manure. We present evidence of long-term contamination of agricultural soil with manure-derived C. difficile and demonstrate the potential for airborne dispersal of C. difficile through dust emissions during manure application. Clostridioides genome sequences virtually identical to those from manure had been recovered from chicken meat and from human infections in previous studies, suggesting broiler-associated C. difficile are capable of zoonotic transmission.This study investigated the perioperative and long-term fates of patients with chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI) who underwent secondary major amputations. From April 2010 to December 2018, 1653 CLTI patients primarily underwent endovascular therapy (EVT). Of these patients, 138 who underwent secondary major amputations were included in this study. The primary outcome measure was the mortality. Prognostic factors associated with perioperative (30-day) and late mortality (after 30 days) were assessed. The 30-day mortality was 9.6%. Patients who died during the perioperative period had lower ejection fractions on echocardiography than those in the perioperative survivors (49.5 ± 14.9% vs 58.6 ± 12.4%, P = .018). None of the other clinical characteristics were significantly associated with perioperative death. Two-years postoperatively, 49.6%, 12.2%, and 4.3% of the patients had died, had contralateral amputations, and had additional above-knee amputations, respectively. In the alive patients who had not undergone additional amputation at 2 years, only 25.9% were ambulatory, whereas 51.7% and 22.4% were in wheelchairs and bedridden, respectively. Sphingobacterium wenxiniae detoxifies MAs(III) and Rox(III) by oxidation to MAs(V) and Rox(V). Sphingobacterium wenxiniae has a novel chromosomal gene, termed arsU1. Expressed in Escherichia coli arsU1 confers resistance to MAs(III) and Rox(III) but not As(III) or pentavalent organoarsenicals. Purified ArsU1 catalyses oxidation of trivalent methylarsenite and roxarsone. ArsU1 has six conserved cysteine residues. The DNA sequence for the three C-terminal cysteines was deleted, and the other three were mutated to serines. Only C45S and C122S lost activity, suggesting that Cys45 and Cys122 play a role in ArsU1 function. ArsU1 requires neither FMN nor FAD for activity. These results demonstrate that ArsU1 is a novel MAs(III) oxidase that contributes to S. wenxiniae tolerance to organoarsenicals.
    To describe the impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on the management of women with ectopic pregnancy.

    A multicentre observational study comparing outcomes from a prospective cohort during the pandemic [COVID-19-ectopic pregnancy registry (CEPR)] compared with a historical pre-pandemic cohort [non-COVID-19-ectopic pregnancy registry (NCEPR)].

    Boys were about twice as likely to refuse total foods (rate ratio=2.34, 95%CI=1.34-4.09) and fruits (rate ratio=2.03, 95%CI=1.04-3.95) and 54% more likely to refuse vegetables (rate ratio=1.54, 95%CI=0.93-2.54). Children with Hispanic parents were twice as likely to refuse vegetables compared to children with non-Hispanic White parents (rate ratio=2.00, 95%CI=1.03-3.90). In analyses stratified by the presence or absence of co-occurring probable autism spectrum disorder, boys had greater food selectivity than girls.

Findings from a sample of 374 U.S. college students support the ability of RAA to explain help-seeking intentions for non-depressed, mildly depressed students, and moderate to severely depressed students. More severe depression was associated with less favorable attitudes, perceived norms, perceived capacity, and intention; changes in the relative strength of attitudes, perceived norms, and perceived capacity in explaining help-seeking intentions; stronger expectations of negative outcomes of help-seeking and weaker expectations of positive outcomes; and to some extent, stronger expectations of negative outcomes for oneself than for others. These findings underscore that depressed students construe help-seeking differently than non-depressed students, and that depressed and non-depressed students need different help-seeking messages.This is a report of an iatrogenic inferior vena cava (IVC) segmental resection and reconstruction utilizing bovine pericardium. A 48-year-old female patient presented for a planned right nephrectomy by the urology service secondary to xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis. This was complicated by inadvertent resection of an 8 cm segment of the infrarenal IVC. Postoperatively, the patient did not tolerate IVC ligation due to severe lower extremity edema. She then underwent reconstruction with a bovine pericardium conduit as an interposition graft. The post-operative course was complicated by pulmonary embolism requiring percutaneous intervention. This report addresses the utility of bovine pericardium for IVC reconstruction in an infected field.

A bi-factor model was selected as the most tenable among five completive PLQ structures to describe teachers' responses. Moreover, PLQ was found to be invariant across primary and secondary school teachers. Multiple-group analysis results indicate that primary, compared to secondary school teachers, reported more often that their principals behave as a transformational leader. On the contrary, secondary school teachers' perceptions revealed that their principal implemented practices related to factor "intellectual; stimulation" more often than primary school teachers. Structural equation modeling showed that the general factor of the PLQ significantly and substantially predicted the "principal" facet of teachers' job satisfaction, providing evidence of concurrent validity of the Greek version of the PLQ. A 48-year-old female patient presented for a planned right nephrectomy by the urology service secondary to xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis. This was complicated by inadvertent resection of an 8 cm segment of the infrarenal IVC. Postoperatively, the patient did not tolerate IVC ligation due to severe lower extremity edema. She then underwent reconstruction with a bovine pericardium conduit as an interposition graft. The post-operative course was complicated by pulmonary embolism requiring percutaneous intervention.   • Culicoides biting midges (Diptera Ceratopogonidae) are vectors responsible for the transmission of several viruses of veterinary importance. Previous screens of Culicoides have described the presence of the endosymbiont Candidatus Cardinium hertigii (Bacteroidetes). However, any impacts of this microbe on vectorial capacity, akin to those conferred by Wolbachia in mosquitoes, are yet to be uncovered and await a suitable system to study Cardinium-midge interactions. To identify potential candidate species to investigate these interactions, accurate knowledge of the distribution of the endosymbiont within Culicoides populations is needed. We used conventional and nested PCR assays to screen Cardinium infection in 337 individuals of 25 Culicoides species from both Palearctic and Afrotropical regions. Infections were observed in several vector species including C. imicola and the Pulicaris complex (C. pulicaris, C. bysta, C. newsteadi and C. punctatus) with varying prevalence. Phylogenetic analysis based on the Gyrase B gene grouped all new isolates within 'group C' of the genus, a clade that has to date been exclusively described in Culicoides. Through a comparison of our results with previous screens, we suggest C. imicola and C. sonorensis represent good candidates for onward study of Cardinium-midge interactions.
    Children with sensory food aversions (SFAs) are at risk for nutritional problems and occupational dysfunction during daily meals. To facilitate optimal occupational performance for children with SFAs, it is critical that clinicians understand child behaviour and caregiver strategy use to manage child behaviour during meals. The purpose of this paper is to examine the reliability of a novel coding scheme, the Behavioural Mealtime Coding System (****) and identify associations among child acceptance of preferred and targeted foods, child food exploration and caregiver use of strategies to manage child behaviour.

    Twenty-one children (aged 18-60months) with SFAs and their caregivers were recruited using a convenience sample. An observational video coding system was developed to code mealtime behaviour in 63 typical mealtime videos recorded by caregivers in the home environment. Inter-rater reliability, descriptive statistics and bivariate correlations were calculated.

    The **** demonstrated excellent inter-rater reliability (ICC=.95). Child bites of targeted foods were associated with mealtime duration (r

The potential of anaerobic digestion (AD) to remove antibiotics and ARGs was investigated through tetracycline (TC) and sulfadimethoxine (SDM) additions into dairy manure digested for 44 d. This was the first study to evaluate antibiotics at concentrations quantified on-farm and relevant to field applications of manure. Triplicate treatments included a 1 mg L-1 TC spike, a 10 mg L-1 TC spike, a 1 mg L-1 SDM spike (SDM 1), a 10 mg L-1 SDM spike, a mixture of TC and SDM at 1 mg L-1 each (TC+SDM 1), and a manure-only treatment. The SDM spikes were reduced by >99% reduction during the AD processing, but TC additions had variable reductions (0-96%). Molecular analyses showed that decreases in tetM gene copies correlated with declines in TC; however, reductions in SDM concentration did not correlate with decreases in sul1 gene copy concentrations. The AD reactors containing 10 mg L-1 of TC and 10 mg L-1 of SDM both had CH4 production reductions of 7.8%, whereas no CH4 reduction was observed in other treatments (1 mg L-1 treatments). The study results were the first to confirm that AD can remove SDM when adding at concentrations observed in on-farm manure ( less then 1 mg L-1 ) without compromising energy production. Because TC adsorbs to the solid particles and transforms into isomers, the decreases in TC concentrations were more variable and should be closely monitored.A selective and simple salting-out-assisted thin-layer chromatographic methodology was developed for the simultaneous determination of two oral hypoglycemic drugs, dapagliflozin (DAPA) and metformin (MET) in their pure forms, tablets and spiked human plasma samples. Silica gel 60 F254 plates were used in the separation of the two drugs using a mobile phase consisting of 0.5 m (NH4 )2 SO4 and methanol (37, v/v). The plates were scanned in the reflectance mode at λmax  = 237 nm. The obtained retardation factor (Rf ) values for DAPA and MET were 0.77 ± 0.02 and 0.25 ± 0.02, respectively. The thin-layer chromatography method was validated according to International Conference on Harmonization guidelines. The peak areas were linearly increased with the increases in concentrations of 45-1,000 and 50-1,500 ng/band for DAPA and MET, respectively. Moreover, the method was applied to estimate the molecular lipophilicity parameters of DAPA and MET via retention data. The suggested method was efficiently utilized for the analysis of DAPA and MET in pharmaceutical tablets and plasma samples with recoveries 98.4-100.4 and RSDs in the ranges of 1.4-2.6 and 2.2-3.0% for DAPA and MET, respectively.Adenine nucleotides and malondialdehyde (MDA) are key components involved in energy metabolism and reactive oxygen species (ROS) production.   • Introduction Published preclinical and clinical studies support the anti-inflammatory activity of CBD, but the molecular targets (e.g., genes and proteins) that are involved in its mechanisms of action remain unclear. Herein, a network-based pharmacology analysis was performed to aid in the identification of potential molecular targets for CBD's anti-inflammatory activity. Materials and Methods Target genes and proteins were obtained from several online databases, including Swiss target prediction, Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man, and the DrugBank database. A compound-target-disease network was constructed with Cytoscape tool, and a network of protein-protein interactions was established with the Search Tool for the Retrieval of Interacting Genes/Proteins database. Lead proteins identified from the compound-target-disease network were further studied for their interactions with CBD by computational docking. In addition, biological pathways involved in CBD's anti-inflammatory activity were identified with or CBD's anti-inflammatory activity. Findings from this study add to the growing body of data supporting the utilization of CBD as a promising anti-inflammatory natural product.The global movement toward legalization of cannabis is resulting in an ever-increasing public perception that cannabis is safe. Cannabis is not the first drug to be available for nonmedical use, nor is it the first to have such an unfounded safety profile. The safety of long-term exposure to phytocannabinoids is misunderstood by, and under reported to, the general public. There is evidence to suggest that long-term use of recreational cannabis may be associated with an increased risk of undesirable side effects. This evidence warrants both appropriate caution from the general public and investment in further research by government and industry sectors that are profiting from the **** of these potent psychoactive agents. We used a multi-omics approach to examine protein, metabolomic, and lipid markers in plasma differentiating between cannabis users and nonusers to understand markers associated with cannabis use. Methods Eight discordant twin pairs and four concordant twin pairs for cannabis use completed a blood draw, urine and plasma toxicology testing, and provided information about their past 30-day cannabis use and other substance use patterns. The 24 twins were all non-Hispanic whites. Sixty-six percent were female. Median age was 30 years. Fifteen participants reported that they had used cannabis in the last 30 days, including eight participants that used every day or almost every day (29-30 of 30 days). Of these 15 participants, plasma 11-nor-9-carboxy-Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC-COOH) and total tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) concentrations were detectable in 12 participants. Among the eight "heavy users" the amounted B cells) were linked with molecules identified in these analyses. Conclusions THC-COOH levels are associated with immune system-related pathways.     Introduction Published preclinical and clinical studies support the anti-inflammatory activity of CBD, but the molecular targets (e.g., genes and proteins) that are involved in its mechanisms of action remain unclear. Herein, a network-based pharmacology analysis was performed to aid in the identification of potential molecular targets for CBD's anti-inflammatory activity. Materials and Methods Target genes and proteins were obtained from several online databases, including Swiss target prediction, Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man, and the DrugBank database. A compound-target-disease network was constructed with Cytoscape tool, and a network of protein-protein interactions was established with the Search Tool for the Retrieval of Interacting Genes/Proteins database. Lead proteins identified from the compound-target-disease network were further studied for their interactions with CBD by computational docking. In addition, biological pathways involved in CBD's anti-inflammatory activity were identified with or CBD's anti-inflammatory activity. Thanks in particular to a recently proposed GPU ****-end to C++17 Parallel Algorithms, it is shown that a single code can compile and reach state-of-the-art performance on both many-core CPU and GPU environments for the solution of a given non trivial fluid dynamics problem. The proposed strategy is tested with six different, commonly used implementation schemes to test the performance impact of memory access patterns on different platforms. Nine different LB collision models are included in the tests and exhibit good performance, demonstrating the versatility of our parallel approach. This work shows that it is less than ever necessary to draw a distinction between research and production software, as a concise and generic LB implementation yields performances comparable to those achievable in a hardware specific programming language. The results also highlight the gains of performance achieved by modern many-core CPUs and their apparent capability to narrow the gap with the traditionally massively faster GPU platforms. The main strategies employed so far for the overproduction of RdRp consist of expressing and purifying the three subunits separately before assembling the complex in vitro. However, nsp12 shows limited solubility in bacterial expression systems and is often produced in insect cells. Here, we describe an alternative strategy to co-express the full SARS-CoV-2 RdRp in E. coli, using a single plasmid. Characterization of the purified recombinant SARS-CoV-2 RdRp shows that it forms a complex with the expected (nsp7)(nsp8)2(nsp12) stoichiometry. RNA polymerization activity was measured using primer-extension assays showing that the purified enzyme is functional. The purification protocol can be achieved in one single day, surpassing in speed all other published protocols. We further leverage our large subject population to study the effect of large (N = 100) versus small (N = 10) group sizes on behavior in three of the scalable games that we study.     To investigate the frequency, localization, and survival of second primary tumors (SPT) of oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) depending on human papillomavirus (HPV) status.

    We performed a retrospective chart analysis of 107 OPSCC patients treated at the Zurich University Hospital from 2001 to 2010. Rate and localization of SPT after an index OPSCC were stratified according to smoking and HPV infection status.

    In total, 57/91 (63%) included patients showed an HPV-associated OPSCC. Of these, 37/57 (64.9%) patients with an HPV-positive and 32/34 (94.1%) patients with an HPV-negative OPSCC were smokers. The median age at diagnosis of the SPT was 59.54 years (interquartile range 52.7-65.6). In addition, 8/57 (14%) HPV-positive and 13/34 (38.2%) HPV-negative patients developed SPT. The rate of SPT in patients with HPV-positive index tumors was significantly lower than in patients with HPV-negative OPSCC (
    -value 0.01). Smokers showed significantly more SPT in the head and neck area than outside. The development of an SPT led to a significantly lower survival time in HPV-negative patients, while it did not significantly affect the survival time of HPV-positive patients.

The experimental trials were conducted at five contrasted agro-climatic sites across the central part of Morocco. The data analysis showed high variability among the tested varieties and between sites for all assessed traits. The Meknes (foot-hill plain) site was the most productive; its grain yield reached 78.6 qx/ha. At the Rabat (coastal land) and Berrechid (cont two varieties that have yielded above the overall average (42.7 qx/ha) are considered stable; those are Riobamba and W11, which is a local selected line. The study used Korea Health Panel data of 7681 households (16,493 household members) from a 10-year period (2008-2017). Dental expenditures and equivalent income using square root of household size were analyzed. Dental services were categorized into 13 types and a concentration index and 95% confidence interval using the delta method was calculated to identify income-related inequalities by a dental service. Dental expenditures and the number of dental services used increased significantly, while the proportion of out-of-pocket spending by the elderly decreased. The expenditure ratio for implant services to total dental expenditures increased substantially in all age groups, but the ratio of expenditures for dentures and fixed bridges decreased relatively.

The experimental trials were conducted at five contrasted agro-climatic sites across the central part of Morocco. The data analysis showed high variability among the tested varieties and between sites for all assessed traits. The Meknes (foot-hill plain) site was the most productive; its grain yield reached 78.6 qx/ha. At the Rabat (coastal land) and Berrechid (cont two varieties that have yielded above the overall average (42.7 qx/ha) are considered stable; those are Riobamba and W11, which is a local selected line. Titicaca, ILLPA, Atlas cultivars and the SW2 local line presented the best grain yield in one of the experimental sites but performed not as well on the others.Cellular receptors play a critical role in viral infection. This review discusses the recent advances and understanding of the entry of PRRSV into cells, viral pathogenesis in CD163 gene-edited swine, and CD163 as a potential target of receptor-ligand for the control of PRRS.Since 2009, the National Health Insurance in Korea (NHI) has been implementing a series of policies to expand the scope of dental benefits. This study reviewed the changes in co-payments and dental use patterns before (2008 to 2012) and after (2013 to 2017) the NHI's dental health insurance reform. The study used Korea Health Panel data of 7681 households (16,493 household members) from a 10-year period (2008-2017). Dental expenditures and equivalent income using square root of household size were analyzed. Dental services were categorized into 13 types and a concentration index and 95% confidence interval using the delta method was calculated to identify income-related inequalities by a dental service. Dental expenditures and the number of dental services used increased significantly, while the proportion of out-of-pocket spending by the elderly decreased. The expenditure ratio for implant services to total dental expenditures increased substantially in all age groups, but the ratio of expenditures for dentures and fixed bridges decreased relatively.

A series of NADES with a water content of 0-30% (w/w) was screened for the ability to solubilize (in a stable way) some poorly water-soluble pharmaceuticals at a concentration of 5 mg/mL. The results showed that NADES selectively dissolved the tested drugs. Some mixtures of choline-based NADES, acid-neutral or sugars-based NADES could dissolve chloral hydrate (dissociated in water), ranitidine·HCl (polymorphism), and methylphenidate (water insoluble), at a concentration of up to 250 mg/mL, the highest concentration tested. In this work, we obtain 3D maps from outdoor scenarios, and complete such maps with measured radiation levels and with its radionuclide signature. In such scenarios, we face challenges such as unknown and rough terrain, limited number of sampled locations and the need for different sensors and therefore different tasks. We propose a radiological solution for scouting, monitoring and inspecting an area of interest, using a fleet of drones and a controlling ground station.

Here, the degradation of an organic acid, fumaric acid (FA), was investigated in the presence of chloride (0-300 mM) by the Fe(II)/peroxymonosulfate (Fe(II)/PMS) system. A negative impact of chloride was observed on the rates of FA degradation. The degree of inhibitory effect was higher in Fe(II)/PMS addition order. Some chlorinated byproducts were identified during the FA oxidation process in the presence of Cl- by the ultraperformance liquid chromatography and quadrupole-time of flight mass spectrometer (UPLC-QTOF-MS). With the increasing content of Cl-, an accumulation of adsorbable organic halogen (AOX), an increase in acute toxicity, and an inhibition of mineralization were observed. According to the results of kinetic modeling, the production and transformation of oxidative species were dependent on Cl- dosage and reaction time. SO4•- was supposed to be the main radical for FA degradation with Cl- concentration below 5 mM, whereas Cl2•- was primarily responsible for the depletion of FA at [Cl-] > 5 mM. A possible degradation pathway of FA was discussed. This paper disaggregates the complete demand model of China based on MRIO (multi-region input-output model) into final demands and intermediate demands, and applied a decomposition approach combining LMDI (logarithmic mean Divisia index) and SDA (structural decomposition analysis) to evaluate the contribution of intermediate intensity, integrating the respective advantages of SDA and LMDI. The results show that both domestic and international intermediated intensities promote China's energy consumption growth in most years. The reasons are as follows (1) the intermediate efficiency enhanced; (2) the final consumption structure shifted toward the more complex pattern; (3) the market demanded more energy-intensive final goods. All effects are positive except the energy intensity effect. Based on the consistency in aggregation of LMDI, we found that the aggregation of international effects is bigger than the aggregation of domestic effects, illustrating that international factors are the main driving force of China's energy consumption. The research implies that the intermediate process deserves more attention for the mitigation of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. We observed that PPEM greatly varied from one city to another, indicating significant spatial heterogeneity. In addition, complaints were mainly concentrated in four large regions, namely, the North China Plain, the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta, and the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration. Next, a newly developed spatial heterogeneity analysis method, namely, geographical detector, was applied to investigate the driving factors of PPEM. From the factor detector analysis results, we confirmed that the economic level, energy consumption, urban population, college-educated population, wastewater, environmental risk, SO2 emissions, and PM2.5 concentrations were the dominant factors that caused citizens to voice environmental complaints. In addition, we noticed that moderately developed cities were the leading risk areas, which indicated that these cities had serious environmental pollution problems and their citizens actively voiced complaints.
