    Pathological exercise is common among those with eating disorders and has typically been characterized as excessive, compulsive, or compensatory in nature. Little is known about how pathological exercise is associated with other eating disorder behaviors or personality traits, or whether these associations differ between men and women.

    We used hierarchical dimensional modeling in three samples, including college women (N = 205), women with eating psychopathology (N = 268), and college men (N = 235), to examine latent associations between pathological exercise and eating disorder psychopathology, namely compulsivity, emotion regulation, and body dissatisfaction.

    Using Goldberg's (2006) "bass-ackwards" method, we identified separate 10-factor solutions (women) or an 11-factor solution (men). A distinct muscle building factor arose in the three-factor solution for men, and it also notably arose in the six- and eight-factor solutions for community and college women, respectively, highlighting an important understudied motivation factor in both healthy and pathological exercise. Each solution accounted for 64.8% (college women), 51.9% (women with eating psychopathology), and 43.9% (college men) of the variance in excessive exercise, respectively.

These scores are composed of 4 or 5 variables, respectively, including strain data.

    Based on 2 variables common to the AL and IWT scores, we defined a simple score named AMYLoidosis Index (AMYLI) as the product of relative wall thickness (RWT) and E/e' ratio, and assessed its diagnostic performance.

    In the original cohort (n=251), CA was ultimately diagnosed in 111 patients (44%). The 2.22 value was selected as rule-out cut-off (negative likelihood ratio [LR-] 0.0). In the haematology subset, AL CA was diagnosed in 32 patients (48%), with 2.36 as rule-out cut-off (LR- 0.0). In the hypertrophy subset, ATTR CA was diagnosed in 79 patients (43%), with 2.22 as the best rule-out cut-off (LR- 0.0). In the validation cohort (n=691), the same cut-offs proved effective indeed, there were no patients with CA in the whole population or in the haematology or hypertrophy subsets scoring<2.22, <2.36 or<2.22, respectively.

    Specialized multidisciplinary ALS care has been shown to extend survival and improve patient's and caregiver's quality of life. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the management of patients suddenly changed and telemedicine has been proven to be as effective as outpatient care. We elaborate the experience with Telemedicine of a Tertiary ALS Center from an Italian geographical area with high infectious risk during the COVID-19 pandemic.

    19 patients were evaluated in telemedicine by a multidisciplinary team including a neurologist (clinical evaluation, intercurrent events, and drug prescriptions); a dietician (diet and weight monitoring); a psychologist (psychological assessment and support); and a physiotherapist (physiotherapy treatment and device prescription). Telemedicine was performed using the online platform "IoMT Connected Care Platform (Ticuro Reply)."

    All patients reported a positive perception of talking face to face with healthcare professionals and were satisfied with how the team understood their problems.

  • Low-temperature atmospheric-pressure plasma has been studied for disinfection purposes. When plasma is exposed to water, reactive oxygen and nitrogen species are generated and preserved in the water fraction (plasma-treated water [PTW]), which consequently exhibits bactericidal activity. At low temperatures, one of the bactericidal components of PTW is peroxynitric acid (PNA). Importantly, PNA can also be synthesized by chemical reaction, without exposure to plasma. In this study, we evaluated the bactericidal properties of PNA based on reaction kinetics in comparison with other disinfectants. The methanotroph Methylococcus capsulatus Bath, like many other microorganisms, detoxifies chromium(VI) by reduction to chromium(III). Here, the interaction of chromium species with M. capsulatus Bath was examined in detail by using a range of techniques. Cell fractionation and high-performance liquid chromatography-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (HPLC-ICP-MS) indicated that externally provided chromium(VI) underwent reduction and was then taken up into the cytoplasmic and membranous fractions of the cells. This was confirmed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) of intact cultures that indicated negligible chromium on the surfaces of or outside the cells. Distribution of chromium and other elements within intact and able chemicals and biological products using methane gas. Interest in such technology has increased recently owing to increasing availability of low-cost methane from fossil and biological sources. Here, it is demonstrated that this versatile methanotroph can reduce the toxic contaminating heavy metal chromium(VI) to the less toxic form chromium(III) while accumulating the chromium(III) within the cells. This is expected to diminish the bioavailability of the chromium and make it less likely to be reoxidized to chromium(VI). Thus, M. capsulatus has the capacity to perform methane-driven remediation of chromium-contaminated water and other materials and to accumulate the chromium in the low-toxicity chromium(III) form within the cells.

The markers linked to the resistance QTL can be useful in marker-assisted selection for incorporation of these resistance QTL into both durum and common wheat cultivars.Cherry virus F (CVF) is a tentative member of the genus Fabavirus in the family Secoviridae, consisting of two RNA segments (Koloniuk et al. 2018). To date, CVF has been documented in only sweet cherry (Prunus avium) in the Czech Republic (Koloniuk et al. 2018), Canada, and Greece. In May 2014, we collected leaf samples from four symptomatic (leaf spots and dapple fruits) and two asymptomatic Japanese plum cultivars (Sun and Gadam) grown in an orchard in Hoengseong, South Korea, to identify viruses and viroids infecting plum trees. Total RNA from individual plum trees was extracted using two commercial kits Fruit-mate for RNA Purification Kit (Takara, Shiga, Japan) and RNeasy Plant Mini Kit (Qiagen, Hilden, Germany). We generated six mRNA libraries from the six different plum cultivars for RNA-sequencing using the TruSeq RNA Library Preparation Kit v2 (Illumina, CA, U.S.A.) as described previously (Jo et al. 2017). The mRNA libraries were paired-end (2 X 100 bp) sequenced with a HiSeq 2000 system (Macrogen, S CVF was detected in three trees of cv. Gadam by both primer pairs. To our knowledge, this is the first report of CVF infecting Japanese plum and the first report of the virus in Korea. However, its prevalence in other Prunus species, including apricot, European plum, and peach, should be further elucidated.
    The dietary total antioxidant capacity (TAC) has been proposed as a suitable tool to estimate the dietary antioxidant intake. However, the main foods/groups that contribute to the dietary TAC of older adults are poorly studied. We aimed to estimate the dietary TAC and to identify the main foods/groups that contribute to the dietary TAC of older adults in a medium-sized Brazilian city.

    A cross-sectional population-based survey with older adults (≥60 years old) was conducted in Viçosa, Brazil. The assessment tool for food consumption was the recall of habitual consumption. A database with ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) values for foods to evaluate the dietary TAC was used.

    We evaluated 620 older adults in which the majority were women. The dietary TAC mean was 11.9 (7.1) mmol/d (food only) adjusted by energy. Besides, when supplements were considered the dietary TAC increased to 35.2 (215.9) mmol/d. The food groups that contributed the most to the dietary TAC were coffee and tea, vegetables, andake of different compounds with antioxidant capacity, which will contribute to a better dietary TAC with possible positive health effects.

    To analyze the incremental cost-effectiveness of the flour made from yellow passion fruit albedo
    long turmeric merged with piperine in the glycemic and lipid control of individuals with type 2 diabetes.

    Eighty-nine patients were enrolled in this randomized, placebo-controlled, clinical trial for 120 days. The first group was prescribed 500 mg capsules, three times a day, of yellow passion fruit albedo flour (FAMA). The second group was prescribed long turmeric capsules (500 mg), merged with piperine (5 mg) (CURPI), at fasting. The third group followed the standard advice recommendations, and ingested a placebo of carboxymethyl cellulose (500 mg) at fasting.

    The group using FAMA showed a higher reduction (-5.9%) of glycemia after fasting, compared to placebo (+9%), and CURPI (-3.2%) (p < 0.05). In May 2014, we collected leaf samples from four symptomatic (leaf spots and dapple fruits) and two asymptomatic Japanese plum cultivars (Sun and Gadam) grown in an orchard in Hoengseong, South Korea, to identify viruses and viroids infecting plum trees. Total RNA from individual plum trees was extracted using two commercial kits Fruit-mate for RNA Purification Kit (Takara, Shiga, Japan) and RNeasy Plant Mini Kit (Qiagen, Hilden, Germany). A cross-sectional population-based survey with older adults (≥60 years old) was conducted in Viçosa, Brazil. The assessment tool for food consumption was the recall of habitual consumption. A database with ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) values for foods to evaluate the dietary TAC was used. We evaluated 620 older adults in which the majority were women. The dietary TAC mean was 11.9 (7.1) mmol/d (food only) adjusted by energy. Besides, when supplements were considered the dietary TAC increased to 35.2 (215.9) mmol/d. The food groups that contributed the most to the dietary TAC were coffee and tea, vegetables, andake of different compounds with antioxidant capacity, which will contribute to a better dietary TAC with possible positive health effects. The target binding between miR-16-5p and TLN1 was confirmed by dual-luciferase reporter assay and RNA pull-down assay.

    TIIA treatment inhibited cell viability, migration and invasion, and decreased Cyclin D1, matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-9 and Vimentin expression in glioma T98G and A172 cells both in vitro and in vivo. Thus, TIIA induced anti-glioma role, wherein miR-16-5p was upregulated and TLN1 was downregulated. Moreover, silencing miR-16-5p could abate TIIA-mediated suppression on glioma cell proliferation, migration and invasion in vitro and in vivo. TLN1 overexpression also exerted tumor-promoting effect in TIIA-treated T98G and A172 cells. The postoperative pain with a numerical rating scale (NRS) and opioid consumption during postoperative 24 h were compared in patients who showed SPI over 50 (Group H) or 20-50 (Group L). The relationship between postoperative opioid consumption and SPI values (pre-incision, post-incision SPI value, change of SPI value, and post-incision SPI minus pre-incision SPI) was evaluated using receiver-operating characteristic analysis.

The photoactivatable emulsifier based on supramolecular self-assemblies could effectively destabilize o/w emulsions by tailoring the amphiphilic balance at oil-water interface under an external UV irradiation, leading to the oil-water separation from Pickering emulsion. At the atomic-scale, computer simulations revealed that the degrading effect of CTAB was due to preferential interaction with the XG sidechain. These findings can enhance industrial applications of XG.
    Bacterial cellulose (BC) has shown potential as a separation material. Herein, the performance of BC in pressure-driven separation is investigated as a function of incubation conditions and post-culture treatment. The pure water flux of never-dried BC (NDBC), was found to be 9 to 16 times higher than that for dried BC (DBC), in a pressure range of 0.25 to 2.5 bar. The difference in pressure response of NDBC and DBC was observed both in cross-flow filtration and capillary flow porometry experiments. DBC and NDBC were permeable to polymers with a hydrodynamic radius of ∼60 nm while protein retention was possible by introducing anionic surface charges on BC. The results of this work are expected to expand the development of BC-based filtration membranes, for instance towards the processing of biological fluids.Various Pickering emulsions-based system have been increasing demand for potential applications in a wide variety of fields. However, tunable emulsifiers and controllable Pickering emulsions with the ability to respond to external triggers remains an outstanding challenge. Here, we demonstrate the photo-tuning amphiphilicity in Pickering emulsions using β-cyclodextrin-grafted alginate and azobenzene derivative supramolecular self-assemblies as photoactivatable emulsifiers. Specifically, the photoisomerization of a host-guest system between β-cyclodextrin and azobenzene derivative was employed to tailor the polarity of the microenvironment, resulting in the reversible variation of hydrophilic/hydrophobic balance. The photoactivatable emulsifier based on supramolecular self-assemblies could effectively destabilize o/w emulsions by tailoring the amphiphilic balance at oil-water interface under an external UV irradiation, leading to the oil-water separation from Pickering emulsion. The light regulating demulsification is further showcased here by the photodelivery of hydrophobic model drug. Finally, this study provides a sustainable yet eco-friendly formulation for the fabrication of stimuli-responsive Pickering emulsions.Molecular-scale interactions between water and cellulose microfibril bundles in plant cell walls are not fully understood, despite their crucial role for many applications of plant biomass. Recent advances in X-ray and neutron scattering analysis allow more accurate interpretation of experimental data from wood cell walls. At the same time, microfibril bundles including hemicelluloses and water can be modelled at atomistic resolution. Computing scattering patterns from atomistic models enables a new, complementary approach to decipher some of the most fundamental questions at this level of the hierarchical cell wall structure. This article introduces studies related to moisture behavior of wood with small/wide-angle X-ray/neutron scattering and atomistic simulations, recent attempts to combine these two approaches, and perspectives and open questions for future research using this powerful combination. At a CMCNS ratio of 55, the composite film had the best comprehensive properties. Scanning electron microscopy images clearly showed that L. lactis was effectively embedded. The film with 1.5 % L. lactis showed the best performance and the lowest water vapor transmission rate (5.54 × 10-11 g/m s Pa. In addition, the edible film retained a viable count of 5.64 log CFU/g of L. lactis when stored at 4 °C for 30 days. The composite film with 1.5 % L. lactis showed the highest release of nisin (3.35 mg/mL) and good antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus (53.53 %) after 8 days. Therefore, this edible film is a viable alternative antimicrobial strategy for the active packaging of foods containing low moisture content.The use of xanthan gum (XG) as a thickener increases solution viscosity, and therefore, the cost of subsequent processes such as fluid transportation and purification. Herein, we investigate the degradation of XG by urea, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). The results showed that CTAB degraded the XG more than SDS or urea. Interestingly, the degree of CTAB-induced degradation varied with the concentration regime. Thus, increasing CTAB concentration from 0.01 to 0.1 M decreased the complex viscosity (|η*|), whereas from 0.2 to 0.5 M the |η*| increased. For XG/SDS, the |η*| was unchanged with increasing SDS concentration from 0.01 to 0.1 M, whereas it decreased from 0.2 to 0.5 M. For XG/urea, the |η*| was stable in all concentrations. At the atomic-scale, computer simulations revealed that the degrading effect of CTAB was due to preferential interaction with the XG sidechain. PEGylated liposomes containing BIIB093 were made using ethanol injection and calcium acetate remote loading. The critical formulation parameters investigated include the effect of lipid chain length, lipid unsaturation, lipid phase transition temperature (Tc) and the amount of cholesterol. Liposomes generated in this study had low average particle size (130 ± 20 nm), PDI (0.15 ± 0.1) and ZP (-2 ± 1 mV). Liposomes made from lipids with long acyl chains showed enhanced drug loading, encapsulation efficiency and drug retention. Similarly, liposomes made from lipids with high degree of unsaturation and low Tc exhibited faster drug release rates. Additionally, increasing the amount of cholesterol in the liposome bilayer improved PDI, decreased drug incorporation and accelerated drug release but had negligible impact on liposome size and ZP. In this work, we first detected the selective binding of the immunotoxins and antitumor effect in vitro. Then, transcriptome sequencing was performed on tumor tissue originating from different treatment groups of **** bearing NCI-N87 tumors. Seven significantly differentially expressed genes were screened based on human genes, and the differential mouse genes were enriched based on the Reactome Pathway Database. At last, the RNA sequencing results were verified by real-time PCR and ELISA. Therefore, the new construct bispecific immunotoxin represents a potentially attractive therapeutic modality, and the proposed strategy make them promising for use in the development of anti-HER2 cancer therapeutics.The presence of a 'significant dead zone' in any continuous manufacturing equipment may affect the product quality and need to be investigated systematically. Dead zone will affect the residence time distribution (RTD) of continuous manufacturing and thus the mixing and product quality. Tablet press (feed frame) is one of unit operations that directly influence the critical quality attributes (CQA's). However, currently no systematic methods and tools are available to characterize and model the feed frame dead zone. In this manuscript, the RTD of the tablet press feed frame containing dead zone is investigated. Step-change experiments revealed that the feed frame could be expressed as a traditional continuous stirred tank model. The volume fractions of the dead zones are determined experimentally as well as using RTD model. In addition, an in-line NIR method for drug concentration monitoring inside the feed frame is also developed. The developed NIR calibration model enables to monitor the drug concentration precisely and detect the variation immediately with the probe positioned right above the left paddle. It is also found that the feed frame paddle speed slightly affects the predictive accuracy of NIR, while the die disc speed has no significant effect.The objective of the present study was to evaluate discomfort and safety of microneedle (MN) insertion in several intraoral regions. A device was developed to standardize MN insertions. MNs were inserted in the following regions of the oral cavity gingiva, palatine alveolar process, buccal mucosa, dorsum of the tongue and inner portion of the lower lip. Perforations from MNs post insertion were confirmed with topical gentian violet stain. Pain was evaluated in a randomized, double-blinded, crossover study in 30 volunteers. Each volunteer received a MN patch, a 30G hypodermic needle (positive control) and an identical MN patch with its needles laying flat in the plane of the patch (negative control). Adverse events were visually evaluated immediately after (0 h) and 24 h post MN application. The application device developed a consistent application force (10 N) and promoted perforation of all individual MNs on a patch. At all sites, insertion of the hypodermic needle promoted more pain when compared to the negative control (p 0.05). Hypodermic needle caused bleeding at all insertion sites. In contrast, MNs did not cause bleeding at most sites except in some cases of insertion into the hard gingiva and the palatine alveolar process where tiny blood spots appeared immediately after MN application for few of the MNs on the patch. There were no cases of bleeding at 24 h post MN application. In conclusion, MNs can perforate different sites of the oral cavity in a safe and significantly less painful manner as compared to the 30G hypodermic needle. GASMAS measures the sample voids by laser light, giving the distance through air. The total distance the light travels is measured using time-of-flight spectroscopy (TOFS). The ratio of these measures gives an "optical porosity", which through theory relates to the porosity of the sample. We present a description of the technology, evaluations of measurement robustness and results from an experimental design where roller compactor, roll force, roll gap and formulation were varied.

  • A single pot, wet chemical route has been applied for the synthesis of polymer supported copper azide, CuN3, nanoparticles (CANP). The hybrid system was used as 'catalyst-cum-reagent' for the azide-alkyne cyclo-addition reaction to construct triazole molecules using substituted benzyl bromide and terminal alkyne. The electron donating group containing terminal alkyne produced 5-alkynyl 1,4-disubstituded triazole product whereas for alkyne molecule with terminal electron withdrawing group facilitate the formation of 1,4-disubstituted triazole molecule.We evaluated the feasibility and image quality of prospective electrocardiography (ECG)-triggered coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) using a body surface area (BSA) protocol for contrast-medium (CM) administration on both second- and third-generation scanners (Flash and Force CT), without using heart rate control. One-hundred-and-eighty patients with suspected coronary heart disease undergoing CCTA were divided into groups A (BSA protocol for CM on Flash CT), B (body mass index (BMI)-matched patients; BMI protocol for CM on Flash CT), and C (BMI-matched patients; BSA protocol for CM on Force CT). Patient characteristics, quantitative and qualitative measures, and radiation dose were compared between groups A and B, and A and C. Of the 180 patients, 99 were male (median age, 62 years). Average BSA in groups A, B, and C was 1.80 ± 0.17 m2, 1.74 ± 0.16 m2, and 1.64 ± 0.17 m2, respectively, with groups A and C differing significantly (P  4) achieved slightly lower diagnostic image quality than group B. MCARS microspectroscopy is a label-free, non-toxic, and minimally invasive method allowing to perform analyses of live cells and tissues. Five decades of research have produced predictions slightly better than chance (AUCs = 0.56-0.58). In this study, Artificial Neural Network (ANN) models were constructed to predict suicide risk from everyday language of social media users. The dataset included 83,292 postings authored by 1002 authenticated Facebook users, alongside valid psychosocial information about the users. Using Deep Contextualized Word Embeddings for text representation, two models were constructed A Single Task Model (STM), to predict suicide risk from Facebook postings directly (Facebook texts → suicide) and a Multi-Task Model (MTM), which included hierarchical, multilayered sets of theory-driven risk factors (Facebook texts → personality traits → psychosocial risks → psychiatric disorders → suicide). Compared with the STM predictions (0.621 ≤ AUC ≤ 0.629), the MTM produced significantly improved prediction accuracy (0.697 ≤ AUC ≤ 0.746), with substantially larger effect sizes (0.729 ≤ d ≤ 0.936). Subsequent content analyses suggested that predictions did not rely on explicit suicide-related themes, but on a range of text features. The findings suggest that machine learning based analyses of everyday social media activity can improve suicide risk predictions and contribute to the development of practical detection tools.We have assembled the complete sequence of the Durio zibethinus chloroplast genome using long PacBio reads. Durian is a valuable commercial tree that produces durian fruit, which is popular in Southeast Asia. The chloroplast genome assembled into a single 143 kb cyclic contig that contained 111 genes. There were 46 short direct repeats (45 to 586 bp) and five short inverted repeats (63 to 169 bp). The long reads that were used for the assembly span the entire chloroplast with > 10 kb overlaps and multiple long reads join the start of the contig to the end of the contig. The durian chloroplast was found to lack the large inverted repeat that is common in chloroplast genomes. An additional 24 durian varieties were sequenced and compared to the assembly and found to also lack the large inverted repeat. There were nine SNPs among the varieties.The purpose of this study was to estimate the prevalence of high blood pressure (HBP) in adolescents of the Valencian Autonomous Community (VC) in Spain. Besides, its association with other risk factors related to cardiovascular disease (CVD) or arterial hypertension (AHT) in order to increase our knowledge of public health and to provide advice about healthy diets. We conducted a multicentre, observational, cross-sectional, epidemiological study in a sample of 4402 adolescents from 15 schools during the 2015-2016 school year. The participants were aged between 11 and 18 years, and any individuals already diagnosed with AHT were excluded. In addition to the Physical Activity Questionnaire for Adolescents (PAQ-A), Evaluation of the Mediterranean Diet Quality Index (KIDMED), a lifestyle habits survey, the waist-to-height ratio (WtHR), and body mass index (BMI) were calculated for each participant. Informed Consent was obtained from Parents of the adolescents involved in the current study. The study received approval from the University ethics committee and all procedures were conducted in accordance with the tenets of the Declaration of Helsinki.

In this study, Artificial Neural Network (ANN) models were constructed to predict suicide risk from everyday language of social media users. The dataset included 83,292 postings authored by 1002 authenticated Facebook users, alongside valid psychosocial information about the users. Using Deep Contextualized Word Embeddings for text representation, two models were constructed A Single Task Model (STM), to predict suicide risk from Facebook postings directly (Facebook texts → suicide) and a Multi-Task Model (MTM), which included hierarchical, multilayered sets of theory-driven risk factors (Facebook texts → personality traits → psychosocial risks → psychiatric disorders → suicide). Compared with the STM predictions (0.621 ≤ AUC ≤ 0.629), the MTM produced significantly improved prediction accuracy (0.697 ≤ AUC ≤ 0.746), with substantially larger effect sizes (0.729 ≤ d ≤ 0.936). Subsequent content analyses suggested that predictions did not rely on explicit suicide-related themes, but on a range of text features. Durian is a valuable commercial tree that produces durian fruit, which is popular in Southeast Asia. The chloroplast genome assembled into a single 143 kb cyclic contig that contained 111 genes. There were 46 short direct repeats (45 to 586 bp) and five short inverted repeats (63 to 169 bp). The long reads that were used for the assembly span the entire chloroplast with > 10 kb overlaps and multiple long reads join the start of the contig to the end of the contig. The durian chloroplast was found to lack the large inverted repeat that is common in chloroplast genomes. An additional 24 durian varieties were sequenced and compared to the assembly and found to also lack the large inverted repeat.   • BACKGROUND Post-tuberculosis lung damage (PTLD) is a recognised consequence of pulmonary TB (pTB). However, little is known about its prevalence, patterns and associated outcomes, especially in sub-Saharan Africa and HIV-positive adults. METHODS Adult (≥15 years) survivors of a first episode of pTB in Blantyre, Malawi, completed the St George's Respiratory Questionnaire, 6-minute walk test, spirometry and high-resolution CT (HRCT) chest imaging at TB treatment completion. Symptom, spirometry, health seeking, TB-retreatment and mortality data were collected prospectively to 1 year. Risk factors for persistent symptoms, pulmonary function decline and respiratory-related health-seeking were identified through multivariable regression modelling. RESULTS Between February 2016 and April 2017, 405 participants were recruited. Median age was 35 years (IQR 28 to 41), 77.3% (313/405) had had microbiologically proven pTB, and 60.3% (244/403) were HIV-positive. At pTB treatment completion, 60.7% (246/405) reported respiratory symptoms, 34.2% (125/365) had abnormal spirometry, 44.2% (170/385) had bronchiectasis ≥1 lobe and 9.4% (36/385) had ≥1 destroyed lobe on HRCT imaging. At 1 year, 30.7% (113/368) reported respiratory symptoms, 19.3% (59/305) and 14.1% (43/305) of patients had experienced declines in FEV1 or FVC of ≥100 mL, 16.3% (62/380) had reported ≥1 acute respiratory event and 12.2% (45/368) had symptoms affecting their ability to work. CONCLUSIONS PTLD is a common and under-recognised consequence of pTB that is disabling for patients and associated with adverse outcomes beyond pTB treatment completion. Increased efforts to prevent PTLD and guidelines for management of established disease are urgently needed. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN A 500-gene next-generation sequencing (NGS) panel was used to assess pTMB. Sixty-six patients with newly diagnosed mNSCLC starting first-line pembrolizumab-based therapy, either alone or in combination with chemotherapy, were enrolled (Clinicaltrial.gov identifier NCT03047616).Response was assessed using RECIST 1.1. Associations were made for patient characteristics, 6-month durable clinical benefit (DCB), progression free survival (PFS), and overall survival (OS). RESULTS Of 66 patients, 52 (78.8%) were pTMB-evaluable. Median pTMB was 16.8 mutations per megabase (***/Mb; range 1.9-52.5) and was significantly higher for patients achieving DCB compared to no durable benefit 21.3 ***/Mb vs. 12.4 ***/Mb, P=0.003. For patients with pTMB greater than or equal to16 ***/Mb, median PFS was 14.1 vs. 4.7 months for patients with pTMB less then 16 ***/Mb (HR 0.30 [0.16-0.60]) P less then 0.001. Median OS for patients with pTMB greater than or equal to 16 was not reached vs. 8.8 months for patients with pTMB less then 16 ***/Mb (HR 0.48 [0.22-1.03]) P=0.061. Mutations in ERBB2exon 20, STK11, KEAP1, or PTENwere more common in patients with no DCB. A combination of pTMB greater than or equal to 16 and absence of negative predictor mutations was associated with PFS (HR 0.24 [0.11-0.49]) P less then 0.001 and OS (HR 0.31 [0.13-0.74]) P=0.009. CONCLUSIONS pTMB greater than or equal to 16 ***/Mb is associated with improved PFS after first-line standard of care pembrolizumab-based therapy in mNSCLC. We comprehensively investigated the associations of body mass index (BMI) change from ages 10, 18, and 30 to age at mammogram with mammographic breast density in postmenopausal women. We used multivariable linear regressions, adjusted for confounders, to investigate the associations of BMI change with volumetric percent density, dense volume, and non-dense volume, assessed using Volpara in 367 women. At the time of mammogram, the mean age was 57.9 years. Compared to women who had a BMI gain of 0.1-5 kg/m2 from age 10, women who had a BMI gain of 5.1-10 kg/m2 had a 24.4% decrease (95% confidence interval [95% CI], 6.0%-39.2%) in volumetric percent density; women who had a BMI gain of 10.1-15 kg/m2 had a 46.1% decrease (95%CI, 33.0%-56.7%) in volumetric percent density; and women who had a BMI gain of >15 kg/m2 had a 56.5% decrease (95%CI, 46.0%-65.0%) in volumetric percent density. Similar, but slightly attenuated associations were observed for BMI gain from ages 18 and 30 to age at mammogram and volumetric percent density.

    Synovial sarcoma (SS) is one of the most frequent malignant soft-tissue tumors, and nearly 65% arise in the lower extremities. Survival prediction and the risk factors of the patients are poorly understood. Thus, this study examined the survival and prognostic variables of metastatic limb SS (LSS).

    Clinical data of LSS patients with metastasis at the presentation from 1975 to 2017 were obtained from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database program database. Kaplan-Meier method was used to describe the survival curves. Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analysis were conducted to reveal the real prognostic predictors.

    Male predominance was observed in the metastatic LSS group from a total number of 217 patients. This population was composed of 49.8% not other specified subtype, 32.7% spindle cell subtype, 17.1% biphasic subtype, and 0.5% epithelioid cell subtype. The 3-year overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS) rates of the entire group were 27.2% and 28.3%, respectively. Tumor size <10 cm, surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy were calculated as independent predictors of improved OS and CSS by multivariate analyses.

    Heart rate variability (HRV) has been shown to represents a promising quantitative marker of autonomic activity. Studies have shown that diabetic patients and animal models have derangements in certain biochemical parameters with reduced cardiac nerve density following development of diabetic cardiac autonomic neuropathy (DCAN). This study, therefore, aims to correlate HRV indices, cardiac histology, and cardiac nerve density with selected biochemical markers in the DCAN rat model using high fat diet (HFD) and streptozotocin (STZ) induction.

    DCAN was induced in Wistar rats using HFD for 8 weeks with 25 mg/kg STZ daily for 5 days. DCAN features were then assessed using Holter electrocardiography (ECG), invasive biomarkers, and cardiac histology.

    DCAN group had significantly higher advanced glycated end product levels (
    < 0.0001), noradrenaline (
    = 0.010), and insulin resistance (
    = 0.016) compared with controls. The level of antioxidants, sorbitol dehydrogenase activity (
    = 0.009), nerve growth factors (

Studies have shown that diabetic patients and animal models have derangements in certain biochemical parameters with reduced cardiac nerve density following development of diabetic cardiac autonomic neuropathy (DCAN). This study, therefore, aims to correlate HRV indices, cardiac histology, and cardiac nerve density with selected biochemical markers in the DCAN rat model using high fat diet (HFD) and streptozotocin (STZ) induction. DCAN was induced in Wistar rats using HFD for 8 weeks with 25 mg/kg STZ daily for 5 days. DCAN features were then assessed using Holter electrocardiography (ECG), invasive biomarkers, and cardiac histology. DCAN group had significantly higher advanced glycated end product levels ( < 0.0001), noradrenaline ( = 0.010), and insulin resistance ( = 0.016) compared with controls.
